In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy
Allaah said: ‘’Then woe that Day to the beliers; Who are playing in falsehood’’ [Soorah Toor; Ayah: 11-12]
Imaam Sadi (rahimahullaah) said:
Al-Wayl (woe) is a comprehensive term for every retribution, grief and fear. Then Allaah de-scribed the beliers, those who deserve this Wayl, (saying): ‘’Who are playing in falsehood.’’ That is: They embark upon falsehood and play about with it. Their sciences and researches in the harmful sciences necessitate a denial of the truth and an affirmation of falsehood. Their actions are that of the people of ignorance, foolishness and jest…. [1]
The Imaam (rahimahullaah) also said:
It is said to the atheists, their intellectuals and more so to their common folk and blind followers: You have not ceased in (pursuing) your sciences that you boast about. You have not ceased speaking about the theories you’re agreed upon, or the majority of them which you have affirmed, believed and certified to be true. And alongside affirming your views and examination of them, you raise objections and may even affirm that they are false and speak about other views in opposition to them, which you are agreed upon that they can be doubted and disproved, and that they can degenerate.
And how many of them you considered to be truth have you nullified?! How many of them were truth (in your view) have you belied! This is the situation and destination of what you deem to be your lofty sciences, then how can it be justified for one with even the least intellect to present these sciences as contradictions to that which the Messengers came with of truth, reality and truthfulness.[2]
