In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy
Shaikh Muhammad Bin Umar Saalim Baazmool (may Allaah preserve him) said:
A section of the Qur’aan comprises of Tawheed and Aqeedah; a section comprises of Commands and prohibitions, and a section comprises of the stories of the people of the past. And firmness is acquired through each of these (affairs).
So through Tawheed and Aqeedah, Imaan is actualized; and through the rulings, commandments and prohibitions righteous actions are acquired, and through the stories (of the people of the past) patience and solace are acquired upon that which the Muslim receives of harm in the path of the religion and in calling to Allaah. And with regards to acting upon its rulings, [Allaah-(Blessed and Exalted Be He)] said:
‘’And if We had ordered them (saying), “Kill yourselves (i.e. the innocent ones kill the guilty ones) or leave your homes,” very few of them would have done it; but if they had done what they were told, it would have been better for them, and would have strengthened their (Faith).’’ [4:66] [The Noble Qur’aan: Muhsin Khan]
And in (one’s) contemplation upon its stories, He (The Most High) said:
‘’And all that We relate to you (O Muhammad) of the news of the Messengers is in order that We may make strong and firm your heart thereby. And in this (chapter of the Qur’an) has come to you the truth, as well as an admonition and a reminder for the believers.’’ [11:120] [The Noble Qur’aan: Muhsin Khan]
And He (The Most High) said: ‘’We narrate unto you (O Muhammad ) their story with truth: Truly! They were young men who believed in their Lord (Allah), and We increased them in guidance.’’ [18:13] [The Noble Qur’aan: Muhsin Khan]
And with regards to teaching Aqeedah and Tawheed, He (The Most High) said:
”All the praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). The Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful. The Only Owner (and the Only Ruling Judge) of the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection). You (Alone) we worship, and You (Alone) we ask for help (for each and everything). Guide us to the Straight Way, the Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace, not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians).” [1:2-7] [The Noble Qur’aan: Muhsin Khan]
And He (The Most High) said: ‘’ (They say): “Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower.” [3:8] [The Noble Qur’aan: Muhsin Khan]
And He (The Most High) said: ‘’And many a Prophet (i.e. many from amongst the Prophets) fought (in Allah’s Cause) and along with him (fought) large bands of religious learned men. But they never lost heart for that which did befall them in Allah’s Way, nor did they weaken nor degrade themselves. And Allah loves As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.). And they said nothing but: “Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and our transgressions (in keeping our duties to You), establish our feet firmly, and give us victory over the disbelieving folk.” [3:146-147] [The Noble Qur’aan: Muhsin Khan]
