On Philosophy, Renaissance and Saudi Arabia, and Other Views: [Part 1: Brief Ongoing Rebuttals Against Ed Husain – An Obstinate Murji (Caller to One of The Paths to Jahannam)]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, “The best of the people are those living in my generation, then those who will follow the latter and then those who come after them. Then there will come after them people who will be treacherous and will not be trustworthy, they will bear witness without being asked to do so, and they will vow, but will never fulfil their vows, and fatness will appear among them”. [Al-Bukhaari]

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali [may Allaah preserve him] said, “They give false testimony, act treacherously and deceitfully. They behave in a very sinful manner and follow evil desires, except those whom Allaah safeguards amongst the Taa’ifatul Mansoorah [i.e. the aided group of Muslims upon the straight path] – those whom Allaah’s Messenger [alayhis salaatu wassalaam] praised. Therefore, it is obligated on us to acquire knowledge for the sake of Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] and act upon it. Ignorance is a deadly disease and knowledge is a weapon that will destroy you if you do not act upon it, and Allaah’s refuge is sought. [Ref 1]

There is no doubt that Ed Husain is one of those guilty of blatant false witness and deception – a shaytaan amongst humankind who advocates the heretical path of the philosophers and its deviant figureheads – Ibn Sina and Al-Faraabee. Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] said, “They (i.e. callers to the fire) do not say to the people, “’Come to the hell fire!!” They say, “Come to progression and civilization [as opposed to the old lifestyles] – development and conformity with the nations. Do not remain old fashioned and rigid’’. The meaning of this is, “Abandon your religion and go along with the people”. These (people) are callers to the gates of hell fire- they call (Muslims) to abandon their religion and affiliate themselves to the disbelievers. This is the call to the hell fire because the hell fire is a promise for the disbelievers. They call the people to that which the people of hell fire are upon – the disbelievers, the idolaters and the atheists. How numerous are these callers in the Islamic World today! Laa Hawla Walaa Quwwata Illaa Billaah! Therefore, we must issue severe warning against them. Why? Because they call us to the hell fire, and Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] said about the disbelievers:
[أُولَٰئِكَ يَدْعُونَ إِلَى النَّارِ ۖ وَاللَّهُ يَدْعُو إِلَى الْجَنَّةِ وَالْمَغْفِرَةِ بِإِذْنِهِ -Those (Al-Mushrikoon) invite you to the fire, but Allaah invites (you) to Paradise and Forgiveness by His Leave]. [2:221]

And He (Glorified and Exalted be He) said about shaytaan: [إِنَّمَا يَدْعُو حِزْبَهُ لِيَكُونُوا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ]- ‘’He only invites his Hizb (followers) that they may become the dwellers of the fire]. [35:6]

And the believer amongst the people of fir’awn said: [وَيَا قَوْمِ مَا لِي أَدْعُوكُمْ إِلَى النَّجَاةِ وَتَدْعُونَنِي إِلَى النَّارِ -And O my people! How is it that I call you to salvation while you call me to the fire]. [40:41]

And how did he call them to the Paradise and how did they call him to the fire?

You invite me to disbelieve in Allaah and to join partners in worship with Him of which I have no knowledge; and I call you to the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving! [40:42]

This is the difference between the callers to good and the callers to evil. Indeed, the callers to good invite to [the path of] Allaah- to His Religion and Paradise, and the callers to evil invite to the hell fire. [The callers to evil] do not say to the people, “Come to the fire!!” They say, “Come to Paradise, these are the actions of the people of Paradise, this is good, this is development, this is rectification, this is and this is….’’ and they beautify that for the people. Therefore, the Muslims must be cautious of these people. Indeed, they have become numerous in this era and Allaah knows best whether they will increase in the future.

They might be facilitated with tools [of misguidance] which were not possessed by the previous callers to misguidance and are given firm support through such (tools), and this misguidance rapidly reaches the people. The suggestion of the seducer and the falsifier will be adorned and made to appear as something good to the people in any place, whilst it is something evil. This is the height of fitnah. [The Prophet (sallal laahu alayhi wasallam) said]: ‘Whosoever responds to their call will be thrown into the fire. ‘’WHOEVER RESPONDS TO THEM’, by complying, believing and assisting them, will be thrown into the fire. As for those who do not comply with them, oppose and openly reject what they are upon, then indeed they will not harm him. Allaah said in the Qur’aan:

وَأَنَّ هَٰذَا صِرَاطِي مُسْتَقِيمًا فَاتَّبِعُوهُ ۖ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا السُّبُلَ فَتَفَرَّقَ بِكُمْ عَنْ سَبِيلِهِ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ وَصَّاكُمْ بِهِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ

And verily this is My Straight Path, so follow it, and follow not (other) paths, for they will separate you away from His Path. This He has ordained for you that you may become Muttaqoon (pious). [6:153]

The Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) whilst explaining this ayah drew a straight line and said, ‘’this is the path of Allaah”. Then he drew lines to the left and right (of this straight line) and said, “these are the other paths, and on every path is a devil calling the people to it’.’ [Ahmad 1/435]

This is a description of the callers to misguidance- their methodologies and objectives. It has been thoroughly illustrated for us that indeed whatever opposes the Straight Path is a path leading to Jahannam, and whoever abandons the Straight Path is heading towards the Jahannam, even if he regards himself civilized, progressive and open minded. Interacting With Jews, Christians and Pagans In The West: [Brief Rebuttal of Ed Husain – A Murji, Carrier of Corrupt Creed, Pretender to Knowledge and Misguided Self-appointed Speaker On behalf of Muslims]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee [may Allaah preserve him] said, “It is obligated on the people of truth to exercise patience and increase in adhering to this religion of truth. Whenever the desires become abundant, it becomes necessary to increase in acquainting (oneself) with the truth and adhering to it, as the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: ‘The one who lives long amongst you will see a lot of differences, so upon you is that you follow my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided khulafaa. Bite onto it with your molar teeth (i.e. hold onto it firmly) and beware of newly invented matters (in the religion), for every newly invented matter (in the religion) is a bidah and every bidah is misguidance”. [Majmoo 14/294 (3rd paragraph)]

Murji – Misguided Ed Husain – stated:

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee [may Allaah preserve him] stated:

Amongst the liars in this era are the figureheads of the political groups, such as the secularists and Baathists [Arab Nationalists], and many of the people who carry alluring slogans in the name of Islaam, such as Islamic socialism, Islamic democracy, the call to unity of religions and many other misguided claims made in the name of Islaam (a).

This takes place amongst groups who claim that they are seeking to raise Islaam very high and that they are established to return the Islamic Ummah to its past glory; however they increase the people in misguidance and darkness, and Allaah’s Refuge is sought. This poses a more severe danger to the people and the youth, therefore it is obligated on the Muslims and the students of knowledge to be extremely cautious of all these types of people, warn the Muslims against their plots and plans, and unveil their secrets. And the Muslims should adhere firmly to the Book of their Lord and the Sunnah of their Prophet; follow the Salafus Saaleh [pious predecessors] in their creed, methodology, loyalty and disassociation, and to deal with this dangerous category of people about whom the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] feared for his Ummah – warn them against these groups and make it known that he feared for them regarding these people more than he feared for them regarding Dajjaal, so that they deal with them in the manner that the Salafus Saaleh [pious predecessors] dealt with them- by being cautious, warning against them, unveiling their hidden affairs and making known the defects within them in order to protect the religion and as a means of sincere advice to the Muslims. (1)

There is no doubt that Ed Husain is one of the liars – those misguided deceivers who carry alluring slogans in the name of Islaam, such as the callers to unity of religions and many other misguided claims made in the name of Islaam, especially in the name of peaceful coexistence. Indeed, misguided Ed Husain and his ilk seek to distance themselves from the extremism of the Khawaarij and Hizb at-Tahreer, but then they end upon falling into the extremism of those whose pursuit of peace coexistence has led them to transgression against the sound Islamic creed from another angle, especially in the subject matter of Walaa Wal Baraa [Loyalty and Disavowal For The Sake of Alaah]. [Previous rebuttal: ]

Types of Loyalty and Allegiance to Non-Muslims

The Loyalty That Would Remove a Person From The Fold of Islaam: The precise principle regarding this loyalty and allegiance is when a person loves and supports the religion of the disbelievers and their creed. Whoever loves a disbeliever due to his religion or creed, or helps a disbeliever due to his religion or creed, then indeed he has fallen into this type loyalty and allegiance. The second type of loyalty is related to dealing with them in trade, visiting them and they visit you, giving gifts to one another etc This does not remove a person from the fold of Islam, rather at times it is permissible, such as being kind to a disbeliever who is not at war with the Muslim state, just as Allaah [The Exalted] said:

لاَ يَنْهَاكُمْ اللَّهُ عَنْ الَّذِينَ لَمْ يُقَاتِلُوكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ وَلَمْ يُخْرِجُوكُمْ مِنْ دِيَارِكُمْ أَنْ تَبَرُّوهُمْ وَتُقْسِطُوا إِلَيْهِمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُحِبُّ الْمُقْسِطِينَ

Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equity. [Surah Al-Mumtahina. Verse 8]
And at other times, this loyalty is forbidden, such as imitating their specific traits [i.e. either their un-Islamic customs and habits, whether clothing, appearance, behaviour or religious practices]. The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Whoever imitates a people is from them”. [Read more heres: ]

Sometimes this loyalty is recommended such as being kind to a disbeliever to draw his heart to Islaam and calling him to Islam, and at other times this loyalty is obligatory, such as kind treatment to non-Muslim parents. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship, and his weaning is in two years give thanks to Me and to your parents, unto Me is the final destination. But if they (both) strive with you to make you join in worship with Me others that of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not, but behave with them in the world kindly, and follow the path of him who turns to Me in repentance and in obedience. Then to Me will be your return, and I shall tell you what you used to do. [Surah Luqmaan. Verses 14-15]

A Muslim Helps Without Intending to Aid The Disbeliever’s Religion or Creed

Prophet Moosaa [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] helped the disbeliever who was from his nation against a person from the people of Firawn. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And he entered the city at a time of unawareness of its people, and he found there two men fighting, – one of his party (his religion – from the Children of Israel), and the other of his foes. The man of his (own) party asked him for help against his foe, so Musa (Moses) struck him with his fist and killed him. He said: “This is of Shaitan‘s (Satan) doing, verily, he is a plain misleading enemy.” [Surah Al-Qasas. Aayah 15] (2) Must read:

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated regarding the relationship between between a Muslim and a Non-Muslim: “He [i.e. the Muslim] must not oppress him – neither physically nor with regards to his wealth and honour. If the Non-Muslim is citizen in the Islamic state, a Mustamin or Mu’aahid, then his rights must be given. He must not be oppressed with regards to his wealth, such a theft, treachery nor deception”. (3) Must Read:

Loyalty to Believers

Abu Umamah [may Allaah be pleased with him] said, “Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, ‘Whoever loves for the sake of Allah, hates for the sake of Allah, gives for the sake of Allah, and withholds for the sake of Allah has perfected the faith'”. [Saheeh Sunan Abee Daawud 4681]

The Prophets and the righteous are given full loyalty. There are believers who are given loyalty in one way but not the other, such as the open sinners – those whose sins have not removed them from the fold of Islam. The loyalty they receive necessitates that they are advised, commanded to do good and forbidden from evil. And the disavowal shown to them necessitates that they may be boycotted and the distinguished people of piety refrain from attending their funerals. (i.e. as a rebuke, so that others do not follow their footsteps, but not because they are disbelievers, rather their funeral is attended by other Muslims). (4)

Replying to The Greeting of Non-Muslims

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:

If the non-Muslims give us salaam, we return the (Salaam) because Allaah [The Most High] said: When you are greeted with a greeting, greet in return with what is better than it, or (at least) return it equally. [Surah An-Nisaa’ Aayah 86] So, if they [i.e. non-muslims] say: ‘Assalaamu alaykum [i.e. peace be upon you]’, we say clearly ‘Alaykumus salaam’ [i.e. peace be upon you], because [Allaah] states in the Aayah [i.e. Aayah 86 Surah An-Nisaa]: Greet in return with what is better than it, or [at least] return it equally. The only [reason] the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] commanded us to say ‘Wa alaykum’ [i.e. ‘And upon you’ without the word Salaam] is because they [i.e. some of the yahood in Madeenah used to say to the Muslims out of hatred], ‘As-Saam Alaykum [i.e. death be upon you] as occurs in the hadeeth narrated by Abdullaah Ibn Umar: “Indeed, when the Yahood give you salaam, they say, As-saam ‘alaykum [i.e. death be upon you]; so say, ‘Wa alaykum’ [i.e. And upon you]. (5) [Must Read: Greeting and Interacting with the Jews, Christians and Pagans ―Even if they are oppressive: ]

Therefore, one should differentiate the corrupt loyalty championed by the callers to misguidance – Ed and Husain and his ilk – and the one ordained in the sound divine texts. Islaam is free from the extremism of the khawaarij (ISIS and ilk) and the destructive negligence promoted by Ed Hudain – the caller to falsehood – and his misguided companions amongst the Murji’ah. Is the Presence of Differing a Proof for the People of Innovation to Remain and be Steadfast upon their Falsehood and Misguidance?! – Shaykh Rabee ibn Haadi

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Verily amongst the Shaikhs of Ahlul Bidah [i.e. leaders of the people of innovated religious affairs] are those that deceive the people and say, “Indeed differing exists even in the fundamentals of the religion”.

Shaykh Rabee (hafidahullah):

Fine, if differing exits, we say likewise differing exits in the fundamental and subsidiary issues of the religion, however what is Allaah’s Ruling on this differing? Is there a solution for this differing? Is the mere presence of differing a proof for the proponents of religious innovations to remain and be steadfast upon their falsehood and misguidance?!

These Ikhwaan al-Muslimeen want you to be silent about the Raafidah, silent about the Khawaarij, silent about the Mu’tazilah, silent about the worshippers of the graves, why? Because [i.e. they want to claim that] the pious predecessors differed, likewise we differ with them, so we leave them alone! Did the companions leave alone those who opposed them? Did the Messenger leave those who opposed him? Did he not establish Allaah’s commands and prohibitions and did he not rebuke those who went to extremes in worship and say, “Whoever turns away from my sunnah is not from me…”(1)

Why did Allah  – The Blessed and The Most High – praise this Ummah [i.e. the Muslims] that they enjoin good and forbid evil;

You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah. (Aali-Imraan:110)

hence, one of the most loathsome, the filthiest and most evil deed is to oppose the fundamentals; they oppose the Lord of All that Exists and His noble messenger. Should we remain quiet about those who oppose the fundamentals – those who oppose the Qur’aan and the Sunnah of His Messenger?

The one who rebukes those who say “Our Lord is above the heavens and has ascended above His Throne (in a manner that suits His Majesty)” and he claims that Allah does not have a place, not above, not below, not on the right, or on the left, do we remain quiet about this?!!

Should we remain quiet about the one who says, “I invoke so and so, seeks deliverance from others besides Allah, sacrifice animals for other than Allah?”  Allah – The Most High – said,

And who is more astray (in religion and intellect) than he who invokes besides Allāh those who will not respond to him until the Day of Resurrection and who are unaware of their invocation (which is being directed to them). (Al-Ahqaf:5)

And Allah passed a judgement that he’ll enter the fire – Refuge is sought with Allah.

These are worthless people and I do not know how the Salafis can be confused by the likes of this doubt?!! You have proofs and evidences with you, and with your ability you can face those people and chase them away with the proofs and evidences; [but] you sit [quietly] like this and let the doubt grab you?! Bombard them with the proofs and evidences that are with you.

Why do Some Scholars Refute by Name and Why do Others Refute Generally – Explained and Answered by Shaykh Rabee with Additional Benefits from Shaykhs Uthaymeen, Ahmed An-Najmi & Shaykh Fawzaan

We want to understand the following issue, It is well known that the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa’ah are united upon (the importance) of refuting the people of innovation – All Praises belong to Allah – however some scholars refute specific individuals by name and some refute the people of innovation generally (without names).(1)

Shaykh Rabee (hafidahullah) responds,

Is there anyone from the Salaf who made it binding not to refute individuals by name and would rebuke those who do refute individuals by name?! This is worthless empty speech, the Scholar will sometimes refute generally, if he sees there is a benefit in doing so, and if he sees that he should specify and name this individual and expose his condition and clarify (2) his deviations, then he warns against him, with writings (written refutations) and sermons (oral refutations) etc.

Therefore, this categorisation is an error, i.e. that we claim the Salaf did not refute specific individuals without exception; never throughout their lives; nor did they mention specific individuals; this is not the case, this is a lie upon the Salaf from this view point. Yes this (refutation upon a) specific individual sometimes it is general and sometimes it is specific in accordance to the need and the over riding benefit in doing so. (3)

Fataawa fee Al-Aqeedah wa Al-Manhaj of Shaykh Rabee Dar Al-Minhaaj pgs. 25-26

(1) Shaykh Fawzaan (hafidahullah): The principle related to this [i.e. mentioning names] is about warning against mistakes and deviation, after identifying it as such. If the affair requires making known the name of an individual among the obstinate opponents so that beguilement does not occur through their [affair] – especially those individuals with deviated views or deviation in behaviour and methodology, and they are well known among the people and the people have a good opinion of them- then there is no harm in mentioning them by their names and their methodology warned against… The people must be warned, because [employing] silence will be harmful to the people. His affair has to be unveiled

(2) Shaykh Uthaymeen (rahimahullah): If we see an individual who has an ideology/concept opposing that which the Salaf were upon, then it is obligatory for us to clarify that so that people are not deceived by him.

(3) Shaykh Ahmed An-Najmee (rahimahullah): When something happened the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) used to say: “What is wrong with a people (who did or say such and such)?! This is correct; but is this said about the leaders of misguidance – those who call the people to affairs of misguidance and the people are put to trial through them; is this said about them? No, these ones must be mentioned; they must be made known and they must be known, so that the people are cautious about them.

Manhaj Principle Extracted from Hadeeth “Make for us a Dhaat Anwaat” – Shaykh Abu Abdillah Khalid Adh-Dhufayri (hafidahullah)

In the Shaykh’s Aqeedah class He said there’s a manhaj benefit we can extract from this hadeeth and it is that Ahlus Sunnah have a Qā’īdah:

قاعدة أهل السنة الاجتماع وليس التجميع

Ahlus Sunnah unite upon the truth and do not merely gather numbers.

Tajmee’: is to gather numbers for the purpose of increasing numbers in your party and group.

Ijtimaa’ – is unity upon the truth; adhering and clinging to the truth.

This is a refutation against the likes of Ikhwan al-Muslimeen – those who have their “golden” principle or as Shaykh Uthaymeen (rahimahullah) called it, “Wooden principle”, saying “We unite upon that which we agree upon and excuse one another for what we disagree about”, gathering numbers is the goal for them.

How is this extracted from the hadeeth?

The Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa salam) was on his way to a military expedition; do you need numbers for a military expedition, or not?

However, despite the need for numbers; the Prophet (sallallaahu alaihi wa salam) focused and gave concern to unity upon the truth and that which is pleasing to Allah.

We can see that Ahlul Bid’ah and people of desires clearly oppose this principle.

We ask Allah to reward the Shaykh for bringing this benefit and explaining to us.

[7] Excerpts From Shaikh Rabee’s Book Titled ‘Marhaban Yaa Taalibal Ilm’- [Concealers of Knowledge and Deceivers]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [may Allaah preserve him] said: Nowadays they say about the Salafiyyeen, “They do not pre-occupy themselves except with reviling [others]!” Ali Ibn Abee Taalib [radiyallaahu anhu] fought against ahlul bidah- the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] commanded him to kill the khawaarij. [ref 1] The Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: Kill them….for I were to meet them, I would have killed them in the manner the people of Aad were killed [Bukhaari 4351]

As for warning against [ahlul bidah], then indeed the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] and the Sahaabah warned against [them]. The Imaams of Islaam warned against [them] and they held that as an obligation. One cannot be a believer who is sincere to the Ummah except if he warns against [them] and gives clarification. And if not, then he is a concealer of knowledge – deceitful in the sight of Allaah and deceitful to the believers.

Do you think that the one who remains silent about this painful situation and behaves deceitfully towards you is a sincere adviser to you, and that he wishes you happiness in this life and the next? By Allaah O brothers! He is not. By Allaah! We do not conceal knowledge. I give advice and by Allaah we have written warnings against them [i.e. ahllul bidah]. We seek Allaah’s refuge; we ask Allaah to grant us well-being [by protecting us from] forbidden desires.
