Part 4: Ali Halabi’s Long Journey (may Allaah guide him)
Al-Maribi Utilises Deceit And Slander To Spread His Deviations
Al-Maribi has accused Shaikh Rabee saying that the Shaikh is not pleased, except with the one who agrees with him hand span by hand span. He said that he desired rectification and unity at first, but when he saw that people were not pleased except to spread falsehood, he saw it binding on himself to announce a refutation against their affairs of falsehood through the legislated Islamic evidences and the narrations of the pious predecessors. Al-Maribi also said Shaikh Rabee mentioned some observations against his book to him, and that he accepted some of the Shaikh’s observation and left others in order to avoid differing between him and Shaikh Rabee.
However, Al-Maribi employed a number of deceit methods to evade such observations and did not correct those mistakes. So Shaikh Rabee said that Al-Maribi had to fulfill certain conditions before another printing of the book is carried out, because it contained affairs that are in opposition to the Book, the Sunnah and methodology of the pious predecessors. And from those conditions was that:
Al-Maribi was to obtain a complete recommendation.
This statement written on the cover of Al-Maribi’s book: [Revised and introduction by a group from the major scholars and others] must be removed. NB: The book was neither approved by Imaam Bin Baaz nor by Al-Allaamah Abdul Azeez Aala Shaikh, because he (Imaam Bin Baaz) died before looking into the observations of Shaikh Abdul Azeez Aala shaikh.
Also, Al-Maribi must make it clear that the book contained errors, which were made clear to him by Imaam Muhammad Bin Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen (rahimahumullaah) and Shaikh Abdul Azeez Aala Shaikh.
Ali Halabi and his companions
So Al-Maribi was the one who kindled the Fitnah, and he used to ultinate from one position to another in the affair. Likewise, Ali Halabi and his companions at Markaz Imaam Al-Albaanee used to alternate from one position to another in the Fitnah of Al-Maribi. They used to sit with Shaikh Rabee and agree with him that Al-Maribi must fulfill such conditions in order to manifest his repentance, but they also used to sit with Al-Maribi and altered such conditions. [For full details on this sad state of affairs: see: page: 22 onwards in the PDF].
After the meeting in the presence of Shaikh Rabee, Shaikh Baazmool and others, Ali Halabi agreed and acknowledged all the sound and correct positions related to Khabarul Aahaad, the affairs of Tabdee etc. He said that it was incumbent upon everyone in opposition to those principles to return to the manifest truth and sound methodology, regardless of who that person is. He also said that such repentance should be manifested without deceit etc. However, Ali Halabi changed his stances and became doubtful of what he affirmed at first; because he said that other people of knowledge were in disagreement. Abul Wafaa Ibnu Aqeel (rahimahullaah) said: ”Whoever pronounces his creed based upon proofs, then unsteadiness will not remain with him due to the differences of opinion regarding the state of affairs of men.’’
The author of the PDF says that Ali Halabi and his companions used to act in the presence of the salafis as if they wished for the middle way between Shaikh Rabee and Al-Maribi, but in reality they were affected by the affairs of falsehood which Al-Maribi made to resemble the truth. This is either because Ali Halabi and his companions were not firmly grounded in those affairs of Manhaj or that they changed after the death of their Shaikh (i.e. Imaam Al-Albaanee).
