[3] Mission Impossible or Impassable?! [A notification to the speaker that the affair is not about personal grievances between the warner and the one warned against!!!]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

The speaker-whilst defending Greenlane’s Admin-spoke about the possibility of a personal grievance between a warner and the one warned against, and in such a case one must be mindful of Allaah’s statement:

وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَىٰ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا ۚ اعْدِلُوا هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ

”And let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do.”

 

Response:

Firstly: This above statement of the speaker is an excellent reminder but it has to be applied in the right circumstances. Neither can this statement be utilised to defend falsehood nor to shield a people who deserve criticism and warning! So we say: The speaker is either not aware of the deceitful political games and hizbi Manhaj of Greenlane’s Admin and the antics of Abu Usaamah, or he agrees with them. If he is unaware, then he is informed of the fact that the basis of the dispute between Greenlane’s Admin and their critics has nothing to do with personal grievances, rather it is solely about the Manhaj of Greenlane’s Admin with regards to the correct stance towards organizations of bidah and deviant individuals, and Abu Usaamah’s Manhaj-defending Mubtadia, praising Mubtadia, confounding truth with falsehood and lying to promote his deviations etc Therefore, these links suffice as a reminder for the speaker:

Secondly: We bring some few reminders from the Ayah quoted by the speaker- Allaah (The Most High) stated:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا قَوَّامِينَ لِلَّهِ شُهَدَاءَ بِالْقِسْطِ ۖ وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَىٰ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا ۚ اعْدِلُوا هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ ۖ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ خَبِيرٌ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ

O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allah and be just witnesses and let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety, and fear Allah. Verily, Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do.’’

When one refers to the shortest commentary on this above ayah, he/she finds the likes of Imaam as-Saa’di (rahimahullaah) saying that we have been commanded to be active in establishing justice in all our apparent and unapparent actions. We should establish justice for the sake of Allaah alone and not for any worldly gain; rather our goal should be the accomplishment of justice and this justice neither contains excess nor falling short in statements and actions.

This justice is to be established for a relative, a non- relative, a friend or an enemy.  And we should not allow our hatred of a people to lead us to injustice because this is an action of one who does not act with justice; rather establishment of justice necessitates testimony for or against an ally; testimony for or against an enemy, even if he were a disbeliever or an innovator.  It is incumbent to establish justice and it is impermissible to reject the truth even if an enemy utters it because that would be a violation of truth.  Indeed every time we establish justice our hearts are drawn closer to fear of Allaah in carrying out what He has commanded and keeping away from what He has forbidden.  [Paraphrased and Abridged. Finally:

*Therefore, we ask the speaker to stand firmly for justice by asking Greenlane’s Admin to stop defiling the name of Salafiyyah!

*The speaker should stand firmly for justice by asking Greenlane’s Admin to abandon the deviant organizations, such as Ihyaa Turaath, Al-Maghrib Institute and their affiliates!

*The speaker should stand firmly for justice by asking Abu Usaamah to stop defending the Mubtadia (Al-Halabi, Al-Maribi etc) against the people of Sunnah and Salafiyyah because Allaah (The Most High) said:

وَلَا تُجَـٰدِلۡ عَنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخۡتَانُونَ أَنفُسَہُمۡ‌ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ مَن كَانَ خَوَّانًا أَثِيمً۬ا

يَسۡتَخۡفُونَ مِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَلَا يَسۡتَخۡفُونَ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ وَهُوَ مَعَهُمۡ إِذۡ يُبَيِّتُونَ مَا لَا يَرۡضَىٰ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ‌ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ بِمَا يَعۡمَلُونَ مُحِيطًا

هَـٰٓأَنتُمۡ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ جَـٰدَلۡتُمۡ عَنۡہُمۡ فِى ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا فَمَن يُجَـٰدِلُ ٱللَّهَ عَنۡہُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ أَم مَّن يَكُونُ عَلَيۡہِمۡ وَڪِيلاً۬

And argue not on behalf of those who deceive themselves. Verily, Allah does not like anyone who is a betrayer of his trust, and indulges in crime. They may hide (their crimes) from men, but they cannot hide (them) from Allah, for He is with them (by His Knowledge), when they plot by night in words that He does not approve, and Allah ever encompasses what they do. Lo! You are those who have argued for them in the life of this world, but who will argue for them on the Day of Resurrection against Allah, or who will then be their defender? [4:7-9]

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi (may Allaah preserve him) said:

Whoever (deliberately) defends them (i.e. the innovators, people of falsehood etc) and argues on their behalf with falsehood, then he is from those more deserving of this statement of Allaah. [Source: المحجة البيضاءpage 33]
