The Believer Is Required to Testify to Everything Allaah Has Revealed- In General and In Detail- By Imaam Ibnul Qayyim

Allaah (The Most High) said:

وَتَمَّتْ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ صِدْقًا وَعَدْلًا

‘’And the Word of your Lord has been fulfilled in truth and in justice.’’ [6:115]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) stated:

Allaah affirmed that what He has stated is (absolute) truth and what He has commanded is (absolute) justice. This clarifies the fact that the good found in the texts of (the Qur’aan and the Sunnah is absolute) truth and it is obligated on us to testify to its truthfulness- neither are we to turn away from it nor oppose it. The one who repels or opposes it with his intellect is not (considered to be one who has) testified to its truthfulness. And even if he testifies to its truthfulness in a general manner but does not testify to specific affairs stated by Allaah, then he is not a believer. And even if he affirms its text but willfully denies its meaning, or he distorts its meaning to another meaning that is not intended by it, then he is not one who has truthfully testified to its truthfulness; rather he is just next to the act of denial (i.e. denying the texts of the shariah).
