[A Reply to that Twitter Doubt-Monger -(a Close Companion of a Student of Al-Halabi)- Who Made a Statement of truth by way of which falsehood is intended]- He said: Do not concentrate on this or that individual, rather concentrate on the Qur’aan, the Sunnah and the Companions!

The Twitter Doubt-Monger uttered this statement of truth by way of which he seeks to deceitfully seek to hide the truth and conceal himself, even though he is one of those deserving of rebuke due to his manifest errors in Manhaj.

Shaikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan (may Allaah preserve him) says:

Clarification must be carried out especially when the one who erred is one followed or has leadership.  And it is not to be said that errors are narrated and will come to pass; rather it should be said that it is narrated and refuted; because this is from sincerity to Allaah, His Book and His Messenger, and it is advice to the leaders of the Muslims. Allaah (The Most High) said:

الَّذِينَ يَبْخَلُونَ وَيَأْمُرُونَ النَّاسَ بِالْبُخْلِ وَيَكْتُمُونَ مَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِ

Those who are miserly and enjoin miserliness on other men and hide what Allaah has bestowed upon them of His Bounties.

Imaam as-Saa’di (rahimahullaah) said: Those who are miserly’, that is: They refrain from fulfilling the rights obligatory upon them to fulfill.  [ وَيَأْمُرُونَ النَّاسَ بِالْبُخْلِ -‘And enjoin miserliness on other men] through their statements and actions.  [وَيَكْتُمُونَ مَا آتَاهُمُ اللَّهُ مِن فَضْلِهِ -And hide what Allaah has bestowed upon them of His Bounties]- that is knowledge through which the astray are guided and the ignorant ones are led aright. So, they hide it from them and make falsehood apparent to them. [1]

Indeed, the one who made this statement [i.e. abandon the personalities and follow the Qur’aan, the Sunnah and the Companions] is one who has been criticized for his clear errors. However, instead of returning to the truth and turning away from the people of hizbiyyah, he decides to utter this statement of truth by way of which he seeks to deceitfully kill two birds with one stone.

Firstly: By way of this statement he wants to propagate the idea that the dispute between the Salafiyyoon and those Hizbiyyoon he considers to be people of Sunnah is due to personality clashes. Secondly: He desperately wants to divert attention from himself because he deserves to be refuted for his manifest errors in Manhaj. So this statement of his [i.e. abandon the personalities and follow the Qur’aan, the Sunnah and the Companions] will fulfill these two goals. It will also lead to concealment of the truth and there will be no Tamyeez between Salafiyyah and Hizbiyyah. This is what is strongly desired by those so called Du’aat who promote some of the students and staunch supporters of the Mubtadi Ai Al-Halabi. They refrain from giving sincere advice to the unsuspecting seekers of truth and this is a severe act of deception. Imaam Sadi (rahimahullaah) said: ”He who deceives the Muslims in their Religious and Worldly Affairs is not from them”

From the benefits of Naseehah (sincere advice) is safety from deceit.  Indeed, he who deceives the Muslims in their Religious and Worldly Affairs is not from them.  Deceit is from the most repugnant of ugly traits with regards to (fulfilling) the rights of a relative and the non-relative, the one in opposition and the one in agreement (with you). The Great Qur’aan calls to this quality, which is from the best of qualities. An-naseehah (sincere advice) is the (thing) upon which the Religion of Islaam is founded. It is that which its structure is made to stand firm and by way of which its superiority over everything else is manifested. Giving sincere advice to every individual is commendable by the Sharee’ah, the (sound) intellect and the natural disposition, and that which is in opposition to it is repulsive to the Sharee’ah, the (sound) intellect and the natural disposition.[2]

Indeed, this deceitful deed of theirs is forbidden by the Qur’aan, Sunnah and the Sahaabah. The Qur’aan, the Sunnah and the Sahaabah rebuke those who seek to bring in the religion of Allaah that which is not from it. The likes of Yasir Qadhi, Numan Ali and others have manifest deviations, so does the Qur’aan, Sunnah and the Sahaabah direct us to refute deviation or not? Or should we say, ”Abandon the personalities and follow the Qur’aan, the Sunnah and the Companions.” There is no doubt that the one who holds this view is an ignorant person who is not fit to teach children in an Islamic school let alone give dawah in public.

Therefore, abandoning the callers has to be accompanied with fiqh- they are aided if they hold onto the Sunnah and abandoned if they call to deviation. This is why the Salafiyyoon abandoned Abu Usaamah, Bilaal Philips, Abu Muslimah, Yasir Qadhi and other deviants. And this is why the Salafiyyoon refute Nauman Ali Khan and other deceivers. On the other hand, they aid the upright salafi callers such as Abu Khadeejah, Bilal Davis, Abu Iyaad, Abu Idrees, Abu Mu’aadh Taqweem Aslam, Abdul Ilaah lahmami and others. So to make a comparison between these upright callers and the deviant callers is manifest Jahl, rather it is great lie and slander. Therefore, the right and honorable thing to do is to abandon the deviant callers and work with the upright salafi callers because their manhaj is sound- free from bidah, hizbiyyah and tamyi.

 

Finally: Sheikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan (hafidha-hullaah) stated: The cause of the differences that take place between the callers is the differing in methodologies.  And had the callers (may Allaah guide them and grant them success) traversed a singular methodology; and that is the methodology of the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)- that which the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-sallam) and his companions were upon, then these differences would not have occurred.

Therefore, it is obligatory upon all the callers to make their methodology one–upon the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allaah (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam); and that their call is (carried out) for the sake of Allaah and to make the word of Allaah uppermost.  Their call should not be for the sake of desires, raising individuals or parties; rather their call should be sincerely for Allaah’s Face, to make Allaah’s word uppermost, to follow the Messenger of Allaah (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) and to aid his Religion.  (So) by way of this the differences will cease. [3]

So we ask the one who uttered that statement [i.e. abandon the personalities and follow the Qur’aan, the Sunnah and the Companions]: Is the manhaj of Yasir Qadhi, Numan Ali and other deviants the same as the Manhaj of Shaikh Fawzaan, for indeed the Shaikh is upon the Manhaj of the Salaf. Once again we remind you of the Shaikh’s statement about refuting errors as follows:

Clarification must be carried out especially when the one who erred is one followed or has leadership.  And it is not to be said that errors are narrated and will come to pass; rather it should be said that it is narrated and refuted because this is from sincerity to Allaah, His Book and His Messenger, and it is advice to the leaders of the Muslims. It is incumbent upon you to follow the haqq- neither be with the people of falsehood nor seek a way between wherein you seek to mix haqq with Baatil. Allaah (The Most High) said:

وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you know (the truth) [2:42]

We will transmit the refutations of the scholars against anyone who opposes the manhaj of the salaf, including yourself. We ask Allaah to guide you or protect the unsuspecting people from your erroneous statements and foolish doubts. Aameen
