Shaikh Abdullaah Al-Bukhaari (may Allaah preserve him) says that Shaikh Ubaid is one of the notables of ahlus sunnah; a Shaikh amongst its Shuyookh (i.e. the Shuyookh of ahlus Sunnah) and a scholar from its (i.e. ahlus sunnah) distinctive scholars. He is our Shaikh Al-Allaamah Al-Faqee Al-Mufassir Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiriy (may Allaah grant him every good and guidance). And he (Shaikh Abdullaah) knows that Shaikh Ubaid does not like the likes of this speech (i.e. this praise of his). And there are those who falsely accuse our scholars- some of those who falsely attribute themselves to the Sunnah-may Allaah guide them to the truth and to guidance. So take from Shaikh Ubaid’s knowledge, benefit from his manners and take from his understanding.
