[10] Back To Basics –[The Statement of Pure Islamic Monotheism- Laa Ilaaha Ilal laah]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Allaah [The Most High] informed us in Surah Taha Ayah 98 that when Samiri and some of the followers of Prophet Moosaa [alayhis salaam] worshipped the calf, Moosaa [alayhis-salaam] said to them: [إِنَّمَآ إِلَـٰهُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ‌ۚ وَسِعَ ڪُلَّ شَىۡءٍ عِلۡمً۬ا   – Your Ilah (God) is only Allah, the One (La ilaha illa Huwa) (none has the right to be worshipped but He). He has full knowledge of all things.

Few Reminders from the Above Ayah

[إِنَّمَآ إِلَـٰهُكُمُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِى لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ‌ۚ – Your Ilah (God) is only Allah, the One (La ilaha illa Huwa) (none has the right to be worshipped but He)]; meaning: This  (calf) is not your God, rather your true God is Allaah – the only One Who has the right to be worshipped and acts of worship can only be directed to Him alone, for indeed everything and everyone is a slave of His and completely in need of Him.

[وَسِعَ ڪُلَّ شَىۡءٍ عِلۡمً۬ا  – He has full knowledge of all things]. This Ayah is similar to the following Aayaat [أَحَاطَ بِكُلِّ شَىۡءٍ عِلۡمَۢا  – surrounds (comprehends) all things in (His) Knowledge] [1] [أَحۡصَىٰ كُلَّ شَىۡءٍ عَدَدَۢا  – and He (Allah) keeps count of all things (i.e. He knows the exact number of everything). [2]

[لَا يَعْزُبُ عَنْهُ مِثْقَالُ ذَرَّةٍ فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَلَا فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا أَصْغَرُ مِن ذَٰلِكَ وَلَا أَكْبَرُ إِلَّا فِي كِتَابٍ مُّبِينٍ -not even the weight of an atom (or a small ant) or less than that or greater, escapes from His Knowledge in the heavens or in the earth, but it is in a Clear Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz)] [3]

[وَمَا تَسۡقُطُ مِن وَرَقَةٍ إِلَّا يَعۡلَمُهَا وَلَا حَبَّةٍ۬ فِى ظُلُمَـٰتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا رَطۡبٍ۬ وَلَا يَابِسٍ إِلَّا فِى كِتَـٰبٍ۬ مُّبِينٍ۬  – not a leaf falls, but he knows it. There is not a grain in the darkness of the earth nor anything fresh or dry, but is written in a Clear Record][4] [وَمَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ۬ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ إِلَّا عَلَى ٱللَّهِ رِزۡقُهَا وَيَعۡلَمُ مُسۡتَقَرَّهَا وَمُسۡتَوۡدَعَهَا‌ۚ كُلٌّ۬ فِى ڪِتَـٰبٍ۬ مُّبِينٍ۬ – And no (moving) living creature is there on earth but its provision is due from Allah. And He knows its dwelling place and its deposit (in the uterous, grave, etc.). all is in a Clear Book (Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz – the Book of Decrees with Allah)] [5]

And the Aayaat conveying this same meaning are numerous indeed.

To be continued…InShaaAllaah
