Some Sects of Bidah and Misguidance amongst the Jinn – by Al-Hasan Al-Basri, As-Sadee and Ibn Kaysaan

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Allaah [The Most High] said that the Jinn said about themselves:

وَأَنَّا مِنَّا ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ وَمِنَّا دُونَ ذَٲلِكَ‌ۖ كُنَّا طَرَآٮِٕقَ قِدَدً۬ا

There are among us some that are righteous, and some the contrary; we are groups each having a different way. [Surah Al-Jinn’ Ayah 11]

Mujaahid said, “They [i.e. the Jinn] mean: [Some of us are] Muslims and [some] Disbelievers.” Al-Hasan and As-Sadee said, “Like yourselves [i.e. humans]; amongst them [i.e. the Jinn] are Qadariyyah, Murji’ah and Raafidah.” Sa’eed Bin Jubayr said, “[They are] different complexions.” Ibn Kaysaan said, “[They are] parties and sects.”

[Badaa’i At-Tafseer Al-Jamie Limaa Fassarahu Al-Imaam Ibnul Qayyim’ 3/208. Abridged and slightly paraphrased]. Your feedback is welcome to improve the content of this article BaarakAllaahu Feekum.
