[3] Excerpts From Shaikh Rabee’s Book Titled ‘Marhaban Yaa Taalibal Ilm’

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [may Allaah preserve him] said: Hudhaifa [radiyallaahu-anhu] reported that the Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, “Tribulation will be presented to the hearts of people like a reed mat woven stick by stick and any heart afflicted by them will have a black mark put into it, but any heart that rejects them will have a white mark put into it. Thus there will be two kinds of hearts: one is pure like a white gemstone and it will not be harmed by any tribulation as long as the heavens and earth endure, and the other is black and dusty like a worn-out vessel, neither recognizing good nor rejecting evil, but rather immersed in its desires.” [Sahih Muslim 144]

So, we seek refuge with Allaah from the trials and desires that causes the hearts to become like a worn out vessel, corrupts them, places them in blindness and darkness- (and thus they) neither recognise good nor reject evil, but rather immersed in their [evil] desires.

[2] Excerpts From Shaikh Rabee’s Book Titled ‘Marhaban Yaa Taalibal Ilm’ -[One of The Devastating Consequences of Turning Away From Allaah’s Guidance Due to Jahl]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [may Allaah preserve him] says:

None follows Allaah’s Guidance and knows the station of this guidance -and it is this knowledge [i.e. knowledge of Sharee’ah] – except one whom Allaah has given [sound] intellect and sure knowledge. He knows the consequences behind affairs and their end results -where ignorance, kufr, Shirk and [evil] desires will finally take its people, and where [sound] knowledge, guidance, [sound] intellect and understanding will finally take the person upon [its path].

Then whoever follows My Guidance shall neither go astray, nor fall into distress and misery. But whosoever turns away from My Reminder [i.e. neither believes in this Qur’an nor acts on its orders, etc.] verily, for him is a life of hardship, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection. He will say: “O my Lord! Why have you raised me up blind, while I had sight [before].” [Allah] will say: “Like this, Our Ayat [proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.] came unto you, but you disregarded them [i.e. you left them, did not think deeply in them, and you turned away from them], and so this Day, you will be neglected [in the Hell-fire, away from Allah’s Mercy].” [Surah Taha 123-126]

Ignorance is the cause of turning away from the remembrance of Allaah and thus the person upon it wanders blindly in the darkness of ignorance, so his final destination, end and abode is that which Allaah [The Blessed and Exalted] stated in this noble Aayah- that he will be raised up blind, so he will say, “Why have you raised me up blind?” So Allaah will say to him, “Like this, Our Ayat came unto you, but you disregarded them, and so this Day, you will be neglected [in the Hell-fire, away from Allah’s Mercy]

[1] Excerpts From Shaikh Rabee’s Book Titled ‘Marhaban Yaa Taalibal Ilm’

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [may Allaah preserve him] quoted the Aayah:

شَهِدَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّهُ ۥ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓٮِٕكَةُ وَأُوْلُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمِ قَآٮِٕمَۢا بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ‌ۚ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَڪِيمُ

Allah bears witness that La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels, and those having knowledge (also give this witness); (He is always) maintaining His creation in Justice. La ilah illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the All-Mighty, the All-Wise. [Surah Aal Imraan Aayah 18]

Then the Shaikh said: When it is the case that Allaah – The Lord of The Universe, The Owner and Master of the Entire Existence, The Only One Worthy of Worship- bears witness that He alone has the right to be worshipped; [likewise] the honourable and noble Angels, and the people of knowledge – those firmly grounded in knowledge- bear witness that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allaah, then it does not matter who opposes this affair and it does not matter who opposes these witnesses.

Jumuah Mubāraka – Shaykh Sālih Al-Fawzān

Shaykh Fawzān was asked:

What is the ruling of the statement “Jumu’ah Mubāraka” (Blessed Friday) and sending it every friday by mobile messages or (posting) in (internet) forums?

This has no basis, and it is an innovation. It is not permissible to greet the day of Jumu’ah, there has not been anything reported about this, nor is it from the actions of the Salaf, hence, it is a newly invented matter.

Currently the innovators exploit the mobile phones and the internet with that which has been mentioned and they utilise it for the spreading of (other) innovations by these (same) means.

Part 18: The Upright Scholars-[They Will Succeed One Another Until The Establishment of The Hour, Regardless Their Number- (Numerous or Few)]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Question to Shaikh Rabee: Shaikh Albaanee, Shaikh Ibn Baaz and Shaikh Uthaymeen have passed away, so who remains from the scholars?

Answer: Those who remain are numerous and all praise is due to Allaah.  The Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] died and his noble companions [radiyallaahu-anhum] remained. Ahmad Ibn Hanbal [rahimahullaah] died and his companions [rahimahumullaah] remained. Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] died and his companions [rahimahumullaah] remained. Ibn Abdul Wahhaab [rahimahullaah] died and his companions [rahimahumullaah] remained. And those ones [i.e. Albaanee, Ibn Baaz, Uthaymeen (rahimahumullaah)] died and their students and brothers remain by Allaah’s Will.  The truth will not be lost.

When Umar [radiyallaahu-anhu] was stabbed, it was said to him: ‘’Appoint a successor!’’ He said: ‘’Allaah will not allow His Religion to be lost.’’  So by Allaah this Religion will never be lost. It is upon you to put shoulder to shoulder and embark upon work-raise the flag of the [authentic] Sunnah and the flag of the truth.  [The Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)] said: ”There will not cease to be a group amongst my Ummah manifest upon the truth-neither will they be harmed by those who betray them nor by those who oppose them till Allaah’s promise come to pass (i.e. the day of Judgement)”.

By Allaah! Neither knowledge nor the committee of senior scholars have died-all praise is due to Allaah-and there is good and blessing with them. Our Salafi brothers are in the different regions of the world. The world is filled with senior students of knowledge who fill this gap-all praise is due to Allaah. Therefore, neither can the people of falsehood rejoice nor become happy.

Ustaadh Abu Talhah’s [rahimahullaah] Manhaj – [A Thorn In The Throats of Frustrated Hizbiyyoon, Mu’mayyi’ah And Infiltrators]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy

Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah (may Allaah preserve him and protect him from the enmity of the people of bidah, hizbiyyah and Tamyee) wrote:  ”In the nineties, when the da’wah was in its infancy, many people left the Salafi Manhaj, preferring the paths of innovation – Dawud (rahimahullaah) saw them come and saw them go, but he would not join them in their opposition. Rather he would advise those who were once with us upon this path of Sunnah, he would show great concern for them so they not be misguided. He would make du’aa for them, and then leave their affair to Allaah, and stop his association with them only for the sake of Allaah. He would not compromise with them, nor praise those who opposed this blessed Manhaj. He was the first person to translate the rudood (refutations) of Shaikh Muqbil, Shaikh al-Albaanee and Shaikh Rabee’ against Jam’iyyah Ihyaa Turaath al-Islaamee – he stemmed and almost cut off their bid’ah in the UK by way of these translations (by the permission of Allaah). Allaah had blessed him with skills of translation that I have not seen equaled in the West, and Allaah knows best.’’  http://www.salafitalk.com/threads/657-Abu-Talhah-Dawud-Burbank-and-his-Wife-have-Died?p=1178#post1178 [End of Quote]

Indeed this above statement of Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah is truth.  Ustaadh Abu Talhah translated the works of the ulamaa in refutation against the Mubtadi’a within the ranks of ihya Turaath, such as the likes of Abdur Rahmaan Abdul Khaaliq. He was also well-known for translating the works of the scholars on various topics needed to clarify the correct positions on Ibaadah, Aqeedah, Manhaj, groups, parties, sects, contemporary deviant organizations, individuals and personalities. The following are some of his works mentioned by Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah (may Allaah preserve him):

Facts about Abu Talhah (rahimahullaah) – A man who defended the Sunnah!

  • FACT: Abu Talhah translated Shaikh Muqbil’s refutations on Abdur-Rahmaan Abdul-Khaaliq and Ihyaa Turaath in 1996, ‘The Blazing Meteor’ series. Download HERE
  • FACT: Abu Talhah translated Shaikh Muqbils’ refutation on Abdullaah as-Sabt of Ihyaa Turaath in 1997.
  • FACT: Abu Talhah translated Shaikh Muqbil’s refutations on Suhaib Hasan and al-Hidaayah in 1997.FACT: Abu Talhah translated Shaikh Rabee’s first critique of Suhaib Hasan and Turaath in 1997 after Hajj.
  • FACT: Abu Talhah translated sections from Shaikh Rabee’s ‘Jamaa’ah Waahidah Laa Jama’aat’ in refutation of the head of Ihyaa Turaath, Abdur-Rahmaan Abdul-Khaaliq in 1998.
  • FACT: Abu Talhah translated portions of Shaikh Abdus-Salaam Burjis’s ‘Mu’amalaat al-Hukaam’ in refutation of the Qutubees and those who called for revolt and revolution in the mid to late 1990′s.
  • FACT: Abu Talhah prevented any amalgamation with Muhammad Suroor after he had read ‘as-Sunnah’ magazine of this takfeeree in the early nineties, and found it to be in contradiction to the Sunnah!
  • FACT: Abu Talhah translated portions of the book ‘al-Qutubiyyah’ in refutation of the Qutubees such as Safar al-Hawaalee and Salmaan al-Awdah who were attacking the major scholars.
  • FACT: Abu Talhah translated the fatwa of Shaikh Ibn Baaz (rahimahullaah) calling the authorities to prevent Safar and Salmaan from delivering lectures, classes and their tapes from being distributed.
  • FACT: Abu Talhah translated many of Shaikh Rabee’s refutations against Syed Qutub and al-Mawdoodee; ‘Manhaj al-Anbiyah’ is point and case.
  • FACT: Abu Talhah translated Shaikh al-Albaanee’s refutations on Ihyaa Turaath and Abdur-Rahmaan Abdul-Khaaliq.

[End of Quote]

This was part of Ustaadh Abu Talhah’s methodology, which he learnt from the Ulama of Salafiyyah, and this is the same methodology he died upon (rahimahullaah). The Imaam of Jarh Wat-Tadeel in our era Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee and others are witnesses to this fact.

*Ustaadh Abu Talhah (rahimahullaah) was neither upon the methodology of the Qutubiyyah and Surooriyyah nor that of the Haddaadiyyah.

*Ustaadh Abu Talhah (rahimahullaah) was neither upon the methodology of Al-Maghraawi nor that of Al-Maribi, Halabi and Al-Hajoori.

*Ustaadh Abu Talhah (rahimahullaah) was not upon the erroneous views of Bilaal Philips, Abu Muslimah, Abu Usaamah, Shadeed Muhammad, Ali Tameemi, Zaraboozo and others.

*Ustaadh Abu Talhah (rahimahullaah) was neither upon the innovations of Ikhwaan al-Muslimeen and Hasan al-Banna nor that of Jamaat At-Tableegh and Muhammad Ilyaas.

*Ustaadh Abu Talhah (rahimahullaah) neither rejected the Jarh Mufassar of the scholars in order to defend figureheads and personalities of bidah nor spoke with Al-Muwaazanah to accommodate the groups, sects and figureheads of Bidah.

*Ustaadh Abu Talhah (rahimahullaah) neither promoted the false principle “We do not disparage but we only correct mistakes’’ nor the other false principle “Let’s not make our differing about someone else a reason for differing amongst ourselves.’’

*Ustaadh Abu Talhah (rahimahullaah) neither brought doubts in the narrations of the trustworthy narrators nor did he differentiate between Aqeedah and Manhaj in order to destroy the clear boundaries between the Salafi Methodology and the false methodologies.

*Ustaadh Abu Talhah (rahimahullaah) neither called to political parties nor the evil and false view that the Salaf differed in Aqeedah—an ignorant view of Aasim Al-Hakeem the Pseudo Shaikh.

*Ustaadh Abu Talhah neither reviled the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah in this time and make the people flee from them nor did he defend those who call the Sahaabah Ghuthaa-iyyah.

*Ustaadh Abu Talhah (rahimahullaah) neither called the people to accept the misguided sects, parties and organizations into the domain of Ahlus Sunnah nor did he call to the unity of religions.

*Ustaadh Abu Talhah (rahimahullaah) never defended the principles that are now been propagated by likes of Ibraaheem Ruhayli.

*Ustaadh Abu Talhah applied Imtihaan by way of the Ulama of the Sunnah in this era, such as the likes of Shaikh Bin Baaz, Shaikh Uthaymeen, Shaikh Albaani, Shaikh Fawzaan, Shaikh Rabee, Shaikh Ubaid, Shaikh Muqbil and others.  So, whoever spoke well of them, loved them and followed what they stated with Daleel, Abu Talhah was pleased with him.  And whoever spoke ill of them, then Abu Talhah was distant from them. May Allaah have mercy upon all of us, the scholars and students of knowledge Aameen.

Part 12D: An [Upright] Scholar Experienced Many Affairs- For Many Years- Related to The Different Circumstances of The People And This Cannot Be Acquired Merely By Reading Books

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Shaikh Muhammad Baazmool [may Allaah preserve him] said:

An [upright] scholar has precise understanding of the Qur’aan, the Sunnah and the various sciences related to the religion. He has knowledge and wisdom related to nurturing and teaching others, and he has experience. He has [good] awareness of the different circumstances of the people, their daily pursuits and general affairs, which is not found in books. And if a person wanted to acquaint himself with all these affairs, he would need a long time [or many years] to do so; but the scholar came across these affairs during his lifetime- from the very beginning of his path in pursuit of knowledge; so how can all of this be merely acquired by [reading] books?!

Part 12C: Scholars Possess the Oral Skills, Knowledge And Prolonged Experience to Enable Them Give Rulings During a Naazilah And This is Not Possible By Merely Reading Books

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Shaikh Muhammad Baazmool [may Allaah preserve him] said:

The scholar possesses knowledge and precise understanding to aid him derive [sound] ruling [from the texts of the Sharee’ah]. So, when a Naazilah [i.e. an affair related to public safety or fear] occurs, he is able to quickly derive a ruling, teach the people, disseminate the ruling and explain the Sharee’ah ruling related to that [particular] Naazilah. The ability [to do this] is not acquired by merely reading books when a Naazilah occurs, without the oral skills, knowledge and prolonged experience possessed by the scholars.

The Four Categories of Optional Prayers – Shaykh ‘Uthaymīn (rahimahullah):

The Four Categories of Optional Prayers

Shaykh ‘Uthaymīn (rahimahullah):

The optional prayers are of four categories:

  1.  Optional prayers whose performance are restricted by time, such as Salātul Witr.
  2. Optional prayers whose performance are restricted to the obligatory (prayers), such as the Rawātib Prayers (e.g. two units before the Fajr prayer e.t.c)
  3. Optional prayers whose performance are restricted due to a specific reason, such as Tahiyyatul Masjid (2 units of prayer performed before sitting in the masjid).
  4. Unrestricted optional prayers, it is Sunnah to perform them at anytime, excluding the times of prohibition (e.g. when sun is setting etc).

Paraphrased from Shaykh ‘Uthaymīn’s Fath Dhīl Jalāli wal Ikrām Sharh Bulūgh al-Marām Vol.2 Pg.223

The Sin of the Person Who Does Not Provide for Those Under His Care. Hadeeth: Explanation of Shaykh ‘Abdul Muhsin Al Abbad

Abū Dawūd reported the hadīth of Abdullāh ibn ‘Amr (Allāh be pleased with him). He said, “Allāh’s Messenger (sallallāhu alaihi wa salam) said”

“Sufficient sin for a man is that he neglects those he should provide for.”(1)

Shaykh ‘Abdul Muhsin (hafidahullāh):

“Meaning, a person sins due to the absence of spending and providing on the one spending upon is obligated.

Regardless of whether that was due to him not seeking sustenance for them (by working), or if he was wealthy but was stingy and tightfisted with them.

Or perhaps he spends and gives optional charity to those who aren’t close to him, neglecting those who it is obligatory for him to spend on, from those close to him, (wife, children etc), so by doing this he fulfils a recommended act but abandons an obligation.

Indeed he is sinful because he abandons that which Allāh (‘azza wa jal) obligated upon him, from spending upon those it is obligated to provide for.

This is similar to the previous hadīth(2), Spend it on yourself, then your child, then your wife, then your servant, then he (sallallāhu alaihi wa salam) said: You have better knowledge; meaning: after that, give charity to whomsoever you wish, or don’t, its entirely up to you.”

Slightly Paraphrased from Shaykh ‘Abdul Muhsin’s (hafidahullāh) explanation of this hadīth in his lessons on Sunan Abū Dawūd in the Prophets Masjid.

(1) Authenticated by Shaykh Al-Albāni Sahīh Sunan Abū Dawūd Hadīth Nos. 1692 Vol.1 Pg. 469
(2) Full wording of the Hadīth:

On the Authority of Abū Hurayrah, he said Allāh’s Messenger commanded with giving in charity. Then a man said, “Oh Allāh’s Messenger! I have a dīnār?”

So Allāh’s Messenger said “Spend it in on yourself”.

He (the man) said, “I have another?”

(Allāh’s Messenger) said “Spend it on your offspring.”

He (the man) said, “I have another?”

(Allāh’s Messenger) said “Spend it on your wife.”

He (the man) said, “I have another?”

(Allāh’s Messenger) said “Spend it on your servant.”

He (the man) said, “I have another?”

(Allāh’s Messenger) said “You have better knowledge.” (On how to spend it, or give in charity to.)
