Who Are The People of Well-being? – [Shaikh Muhammad Bin Haadi Transmits a Statement of Imaam Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhaab]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Shaikh Muhammad Bin Haadi [may Allaah preserve him] said: He [i.e. Imaam Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhaab [rahimahullaah] said: “When it is the case that the well-being of the first generations who embraced Islam and those of the later generations [can only be] achieved through following the Messengers, surely the people most worthy of that [well-being] are the ones more knowledgeable regarding the narrations of the Messengers and act upon them the most. Therefore, those who are [well] acquainted with their statements and actions [i.e. the actions and statements of the Messengers] – those who follow them – are the people of well-being in every era and place. They are the saved group among the people of every Milla [i.e. those who truly followed the Prophets and Messengers of old before the sending of Muhammad]- and within this Ummah, they are the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Hadeeth.” [i.e. the Imaams and scholars of the Sunnah and Hadeeth- those who truly follow the creed and methodology of the Sahaabah in every aspect of the religion until the establishment of the hour]

After this above quote, Shaikh Muhammad said: He [i.e. Imaam Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhaab (rahimahullaah)] spoke the truth, for indeed they [i.e. Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Hadeeth] gave their entire lives in [seeking] understanding of the Sunnah of Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] and bore tiredness in that path. And [this effort] was not [due to anything else] except due to their love of following Allaah’s Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam].
