[54] Excerpts from Shaikh Rabee’s Book Titled ‘Marhaban Yaa Taalibal Ilm’ – [The Haughty Nafs Must Be Humbled Whilst One Is In Path of Seeking Knowledge]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestowed of Mercy

If the [desire for pride or haughtiness] comes to him, whilst he in the path of [seeking knowledge or engaged in an affair related] to knowledge, then it is obligated on him to place his nafs under the feet [i.e. humble himself]. It is obligatory to humble this arrogant [and] haughty nafs whilst one is in the path of seeking knowledge. Allaah hates the haughty people. [Allaah (The Most High) said]:
إِنَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُسْتَكْبِرِينَ
Truly, He [Allaah] likes not the proud.
[Surah An-Nahl’ Aayah 23]

[53] Excerpts from Shaikh Rabee’s Book Titled ‘Marhaban Yaa Taalibal Ilm’-[Pride (Or Haughtiness) Should Be Avoided In All Circumstances]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy
Pride [ or haughtiness] is one of the obstacles in the path of seeking knowledge, and Allaah’s Refuge is sought. The Salaf – as stated by Mujaahid – said: “Neither the proud [or haughty] person nor the shy person will acquire knowledge.” Pride [or haughtiness] is a destructive disease – and Allaah’s Refuge is sought. An atom’s weight of pride [or haughtiness] can cast a person in the hell fire. A person should not be inattentive to [the dangerous consequences] of pride [or haughtiness] – regardless whether [one behaves in such a manner] towards the common people or the scholars, or in the path of seeking knowledge or other than that. This [i.e. pride or haughtiness] is a dangerous disease.

Fasting the six [days] of Shawaal and combining with fasting the “white” days – Shaykh Fawzaan

Shaykh Salih al-Fawzaan was asked:

Noble Shaykh, is it correct to combine the six [days] of Shawaal with the white days with a single intention?

Watch the full video for the answer of the Shaykh!

Note: Shaykh Bin Baz (rahimahullāh) explained the meaning of ‘white’ days.

“They are the 13th, 14th and 15th (of every Islamic month), these are the ‘white’ (days). Meaning, their nights are white due to the (fullness) of the Moon, and fasting these days are a recommended act.”

Reminder: Suffice Yourself With What Is Found at Manhaj.com And Get Ready For The Study Circles

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

The Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said:

”It is enough sin for a person to speak of everything that he hears.”
[Muqaddimah Saheeh Muslim 1/10]

Let us be careful, vigilant and calm. We should not even spend a minute of your valuable time to read messages written by people who rush to transmit – via twitter etc – whatever they have heard or witnessed. All praise is due to Allaah, we have scholars – Shaikh Rabee, Shaikh Ubaid and others – and we have elders amongst us in the west who are well known to the scholars. Shaikh Rabee’s clafications are enough and they are being transmitted at manhaj.com. All praise is due to Allaah, we suffice ourselves with what is found at manhaj.com against the Musaafiqah. Finally, let us start getting ready for the study circles in the Maraakiz.

[52] Excerpts from Shaikh Rabee’s Book Titled ‘Marhaban Yaa Taalibal Ilm’-[A Person Who Realises His Need of Knowledge Will Acquire It From Both a Younger And Elder Teacher]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

When a person examines himself [and realizes that he is always] in need of knowledge, he will take from one who is young and one who is old, travel for the purpose [of acquiring knowledge], humbles himself in the presence of the people of knowledge and deals with them based on good etiquettes and manners. And this is not granted except to the one whom Allaah wishes good for. [The Messenger (sallal laahu alayhi wasallam) said]: “If Allaah wishes good for a person, He grants him understanding in the religion.” And [one of the signs of sound] understanding in the religion is that you neither exalt yourself nor become arrogant. That is because if he [i.e. the person] becomes haughty, he [deserves to be considered (or worthy of being called)] a Jaahil and this haughtiness will be a barrier between him and knowledge.

Why Did Others Narrate More Hadeeth Than Abu Bakr [radiyallaahu-anhu] Even Though He Was More Knowledgeable Than Them?- [A Brief Reminder By Shaikh Uthaymeen (rahimahullaah)]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestowerr of Mercy

Question: Who narrated more hadeeth – Abu Bakr or Abu Hurairah [radiyallaahu anhumaa]?
Answer: Indeed, Abu Hurairah [radiyallaahu anhu] narrated more Hadeeth than Abu Bakr [radiyallaahu anhu], but that does not mean that Abu Hurairah [radiyallaahu anhu] heard more Hadeeth than Abu Bakr [radiyallaahu anhu], because Abu Bakr was a companion of Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] in the summers, winters, nights, days, [during] journeys and whilst at home; so he heard [hadeeth or received more knowledge] than [others] and had more knowledge regarding the affairs of Allaah’s Messenger than [others]; however he did not spend a lot of time to sit and narrate to the people what was heard from the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam].
