In The Name if Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

The obstacles to [sound] knowledge are present due to ignorance, bidah and Fitan. Fitan becomes rife whenever [sound] knowledge is little. Whenever [sound] knowledge is little, the arenas of Fitan expand, Fasaad and murder becomes rife, and every type of Fasaad becomes rife, such as Tabarruj and Zinaa. These affairs are also reasons and obstacles that prevent [people] from being thirsty for [sound] knowledge. One looks for [upright] scholars, but cannot find any in his country due to the [fact that] Fasaad and ignorance is rife.
