Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [hafidhahullaah] said:

The methodologies of misguidance lead to the hell fire-Allaah’s refuge is sought-and bidah leads its people to the fire, whereas the Book of Allaah and the [authentic] Sunnah of the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] lead to Paradise.  [Allaah (The Most High) said]:

وَاللَّهُ يَدْعُو إِلَىٰ دَارِ السَّلَامِ وَيَهْدِي مَنْ يَشَاءُ إِلَىٰ صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ

Allah calls to the home of peace (i.e. Paradise, by accepting Allah’s religion of Islamic Monotheism and by doing righteous good deeds and abstaining from polytheism and evil deeds) and guides whom He wills to a Straight Path. [Soorah Yunus: Ayah 25]

Allaah calls to the home of peace [i.e. paradise] and the Prophets are callers to this Paradise; but shaytaan and his party are callers to the blazing fire.  [Allaah (The Most High) said]:

إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ فَاتَّخِذُوهُ عَدُوًّا ۚ إِنَّمَا يَدْعُو حِزْبَهُ لِيَكُونُوا مِنْ أَصْحَابِ السَّعِيرِ

Surely, Shaitan (Satan) is an enemy to you, so take (treat) him as an enemy. He only invites his Hizb (followers) that they may become the dwellers of the blazing Fire.’’ [Surah Faatir. Ayah 6]

Shaytaan calls to bidah and imposes it on his misguided patrons in order to lead them to the fire and cast them into the blazing fire.  And as you know, there is bidah that is tantamount to Shirk Akbar; and there is bidah that is tantamount to Shirk As’ghar; and there is bidah that is tantamount to Kufr Akbar and Kufr As’ghar; and there is bidah that is tantamount to Major Sins and there is bidah that is tantamount to Major Sins that are greater than other Major sins.  It [bidah] is evil upon evil-Allaah’s refuge is sought-and it leads and guides its people to the fire, and Allaah’s Refuge is sought.
