The Munaafiqoon and Mushrikoon during the time of the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasalam] harboured evil thoughts about Allaah [The Most High]. They thought that Allaah has a partner. They thought that Allaah will not aid the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] and the Sahaabah [radiyallaahu-anhum]. They thought that as soon as they [i.e. the Messenger and the Sahaabah] leave Madeenah for the Battle of Hudaybiyah, they will be attacked and killed, and will not be victorious. They thought that they were equal in status to the Messenger in the sight of Allaah.
