Trustworthiness In Religion Is Not Merely Ascertained through Fine Physical Appearance And Personality!

Ya’qoob Bin Sufyaan [rahimahullaah] said: I heard a person saying to Ahmad Bin Yoonus [rahimahullaah]: Is Abdullaah Al-Umariy a weak narrator of hadeeth? He [Ahmad] said: Indeed, he is weak. He is a Raafidi who harbours hatred towards his forefathers [i.e. the Salaf], and had you seen his beard, his graceful and fine physical [appearance], you would have conceded that he is trustworthy. Al-Haafidh Al-Khateeb al Baghdaadee [rahimahullaah] said: So, Ahmad Bin Yoonus used this as a proof that Abdullaah Al-Umari (appeared) trustworthy through that which was not a proof, because fine physical appearance is something shared between a trustworthy person and a disparaged person.”

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] stated in Ar-Radd Alal-Bakri: These ones [i.e. Bakri and others like him] have a religious and righteous appearance, but they are not from the people of knowledge- those who [possess] knowledge of the rulings of the religion, whose statements are accepted regarding the prescribed duties in Islaam and knowledge [regarding] what is lawful and unlawful. They [i.e. Bakri and those like him] neither have any legislated proofs with them nor a transmitted (text) from an approved scholar.

Just Take The Good From The Misguided Ones And Abandon Their Mistakes!!!

Question to Sheikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him]: When we give advice to some of those who educate and nurture the youth against the evil scholars, they say: ‘take the good they have with them and abandon their mistakes’. Is this correct?

Answer: And all praise belongs to Allaah; there are scholars of the Sunnah and uprightness. Allaah (subhaanah) has not made you to have a need of the evil scholars and the books of misguidance, whilst we have authentic books. Therefore, we hold onto these affairs and we neither go to the scholars of misguidance nor the innovators, nor to the books that are mixed (with falsehood). And all praise belongs to Allaah; we have pure and good books and scholars, so we hold onto the scholars and the authentic books. [Al-Ijaabaatul Muhimmah (Vol 1, page: 144-145)]

Question To Sheikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan (may Allaah preserve him): What is the ruling on the one who defends a person of innovation and he says: ‘(This person) has good deeds and has given service to Islaam in such’, since this has become widespread amongst some of the callers.  What is the ruling on this?

Answer: We clarify errors in order that the people may keep away from it. As for possessing good deeds, then this is with Allaah. We do not have knowledge of that.. Whatever his good deeds are, they will not be lost with Allaah and we are not a scale by which good and evil deeds are weighed. Good and evil deeds have their scale on the Day of Judgement with Allaah (The Most High).  Our intention is not to diminish the individual, rather our intention is to clarify the truth and unveil errors so that people may not fall to it. As for the (personal/private affairs of the person), we do not enter into that. If he has good deeds, then his good deeds will not be lost with Allaah. We neither talk about his good deeds nor do we say that he has no good deeds. Allaah is more knowledgeable about his good deeds and our intention is to clarify errors in order that people do not incline towards it. [Source: Al-Ijaabaatul Muhimmah (Vol 1, page 145)]

The Fear of Abdullah Bin Mas’ood [radiyallaahu-anhu]

A man said to Abdullaah Bin Mas’ood [may Allah be pleased with him], “I do not want to be amongst the companions of the right, I want to be amongst those foremost in faith; so, Abdullaah Bin Mas’ood said to him, ‘But there is a man right here [meaning himself] who wishes that he is not resurrected after he dies [i.e. due to fear of the hereafter]’”.

One day, he [Abdullaah] came out and the people followed him, so he said to them, “Do you have a need?” They said, “No, but we want to walk along with you.” He said, “Go back, for indeed it is humiliation for the one following and a trial for the one followed”.

He said, “Had you known what I know about myself, you would have hurried to cover my head with dust”.

There’s None More Unjust Than The Figureheads of Bidah!

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee [hafidhahullaah] said:

To be mindful of Ahlul Bidah [The people of religious innovations] – to have hatred for them and boycott them- is the correct path of protecting Ahlus Sunnah against falling into their fitnah.  And to be lackadaisical about them- to harbour a good suspicion of them and inclining towards them- is the beginning of the path towards misguidance and deviation. Allaah said:

وَلَا تَرۡكَنُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ فَتَمَسَّكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ

And incline not toward those who do wrong, lest the fire should touch you. [Surah Hud, Aayah 113]

And who is more unjust than Ahlul Bidah?  Ahlul Bidah are more evil than the sinners, and due to this the Faqeeh of Basra and the most intelligent of them- Salaam Bin Abee Mutee [rahimahullaah]- said, “It is more beloved to me that I meet Allaah with the scroll of Hajjaaj than meet Him with the scroll of Amr Ibn Ubaid”.

Amr Ibn Ubaid was a Zaahid and a worshipper Maashaa-Allaah, but he was an innovator and a misguided one, and Hajjaaj was an evil doer, a blood shedder  and a criminal.  He [Salaam Bin Abee Mutee] held that if he were to make a choice between meeting Allaah with the scroll of Hajjaaj and that of Amr Ibn Ubaid, he would choose to meet Allaah with the scroll of Hajjaaj-the blood shedder and oppressive evil doer.  And why is this? [That is] due to his realization regarding the danger and ugliness of bidah. And it is sufficient for us that the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] described [bidah] in his khutbah as the worst of all affairs, as reported in the Hadeeth of Jaabir [radiyallaahu-anhu] [Ref 1]

Allaah waged a more severe war against the Jewish Rabbis, the Christian Monks and the evil scholars amongst them than He has against the Tyrannical Rulers. Why is that the case?; because the misguidance and corruption of the (Tyrannical Rulers) is well known and is clear to the people, but these (Rabbis, Monks and evil scholars) confound truth with falsehood, as Allaah said: [لِمَ تَلْبِسُونَ الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُونَ الْحَقَّ وَأَنْتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ – Why do you mix truth with falsehood and conceal the truth while you know] [3:71]

This is the condition of ahlul bidah (i.e. the people who innovate in the religion). They possess something of the truth, or they possess something of misguidance and mix it with the truth until deceitful paths are spread.  Allaah is more knowledgeable about His slaves, and see how many (times/instances) the Jews and their scholars and the Christians have been censured, rebuked, cautioned and disparaged. Why is that the case?; because they corrupted the Religion of Allaah.

This is the state of affairs of the people of bidah. They have a share of this rebuke which Allaah (Tabaaraka-Wata-Aalaa) directed towards the Jews and the Christians.  The proof (for this) is the saying of the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam):  ”You will follow the ways of those who came before you exactly in the same fashion to the extent that if they were to enter a lizard’s hole you will (also) enter it”

Indeed the people of innovation have fallen into this evil, and they have followed the Yahood in their false interpretations, distortions and lies, and in their spreading and publicising falsehood. They have shared in all these affairs with the Yahood and Nasaaraa.  So there is a strong resemblance between them and these (Jews and Christians).  Indeed the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) informed (us) that they will follow the ways of the (Jews and Christians). Normalisation of Sin And Falsehood Through Beautified Satanic Slogans Can Never – By The Will And Tawfeeq of Allaah- Distract The People of Piety From Reality!

Allaah [The Most High] said:

قُل لَّا يَسْتَوِي الْخَبِيثُ وَالطَّيِّبُ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكَ كَثْرَةُ الْخَبِيثِ ۚ فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ يَا أُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ

Say: “Not equal are Al-Khabith (all that is evil and bad as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, etc.) and At-Taiyib (all that is good as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, etc.), even though the abundance of Al-Khabith (evil) may please you.” So fear Allah much [(abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)], O men of understanding in order that you may be successful. [Surah Al-Maa’idah Ayah 100]

[قُل -say (O Muhammad)] to mankind- Meaning: Warning against evil and desiring good; [لَّا يَسْتَوِي الْخَبِيثُ وَالطَّيِّبُ  – Not equal are (all that is evil and bad) and At-Taiyib (all that is good)]- Meaning: Imaan is not equal to kufr; obedience to [Allaah and His Messenger] is not equal to disobedience to [Allaah and His Messenger]; the people of paradise are not equal to the people of hellfire; filthy deeds are not equal to good deeds, and unlawful wealth is not equal to lawful wealth.  [وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكَ كَثْرَةُ الْخَبِيث  – even though the abundance of Al-Khabeeth (evil) may please you (people)]- Meaning: Indeed it will not benefit the person in anything, rather it will harm his religious and worldly affairs.

[فَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ يَا أُولِي الْأَلْبَابِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ – So fear Allah much (abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds which He has forbidden) and love Allah much (perform all kinds of good deeds which He has ordained)], O men of understanding in order that you may be successful]

Depraved Men Desire Depraved Women- [A Relationship Based On Sin And Transgression]

After Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) described the beauty and perfection of the women of Paradise so that one is drawn towards them, he warned against being deceived by the evil women of this worldly life-those who are deprived of every excellent trait. They are neither perfect in their physical appearances nor do they possess good actions.

How can one be deceived by a woman who possesses ugly manners and is untrustworthy! How can one be deceived by a woman who neither fulfills her obligations nor does she possess patience! How can one be deceived by a woman who is neither contented nor is she obedient and humble [i.e. not obedient to Allaah in that which Allaah has commanded her to fulfil in marriage], and her deeds are ugly!  Rather she is a female shaytaan disguised in the image of a human, so she deceives the despicable and depraved people who desire her because they are similar to her and are ready to obey her.

As for the people of goodness and virtue, she neither wants nor desires them because there are no similarities between her and them.  She is deprived of everything that directs her towards good and prevents her from evil.  She neither possesses the correct way of life ordained by Allaah and a sound moral intellect nor does she possess good manners and fear of Allaah.  She does not possess natural beauty, rather her beauty is a falsified one that emanates from cosmetics.  And when she leaves that beautification and embellishment the defects on her becomes apparent and she is deprived of everything that makes a person desirous of her.   She is characterized with betrayal-neither grateful towards good companionship nor does she preserve and fulfill its rights.

Her beauty is a thin shell and underneath it are defects and ugly affairs.  Her beauty resembles a fake coin plated with gold or silver, which one may consider to be a real gold or silver coin; but this counterfeit cannot be circulated amongst the money changers even though many people are deceived by it.

The Believers Are Only Those Who, When Allaah is Mentioned, Feel a Fear In Their Hearts!

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [hafidhahullaah] said:

[We] must ponder upon the Qur’aan, [approach] it with [sound] discernment, pay close attention to it, being acquainted with what it is about and its [lofty] status.  [We] must know [the greatness] of the one who revealed it – The Lord of the heavens and the earth, The Great Lord [i.e. Allaah] – and the status of the great Messenger to whom the Qur’aan was revealed. Therefore, we must acquaint ourselves with the Qur’aan. We must act upon it after pondering upon it; after approaching it with a [sound] discernment, understanding and paying close attention to it, so that its goals [aims] are fulfilled, especially the subject matter related to Allaah’s Essence, Names and Attributes(ref 1); the right Allaah has to be worshipped alone, exalted, glorified, venerated, feared and loved; complete submission to Him and being shy in His presence, as well as other acts of worship, which we know from the great Qur’aan and the [authentic] Sunnah of the noble Prophet [alayhis salaatu wassalaam]. [Ref 1]

Indeed, the Qur’aan has commended – a lot – the affair of knowledge and the scholars. Allaah [The Blessed and Exalted] said: [إِنَّمَا يَخۡشَى ٱللَّهَ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِ ٱلۡعُلَمَـٰٓؤُاْۗ – It is only those who have knowledge among His slaves that fear Allah]. [Surah Faatir’ Aayah 28]

The scholars who act upon knowledge – those who benefit from the knowledge of [the Sharee’ah]- know Allaah by His [Perfect] Names and Attributes. They know Allaah and exalt Him due to their knowledge of Allaah’s [Perfect] Names and Attributes; therefore, whenever one reads and comes across an Aayah of the Qur’aan that [mentions] some of the [Perfect] Names and Attributes of Allaah, it should increase him [or her] in Eemaan; especially the Aayaat regarding Tawheed, and the [Perfect] Names and Attributes of Allaah. Allaah said:

إِنَّمَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِرَ ٱللَّهُ وَجِلَتۡ قُلُوبُہُمۡ وَإِذَا تُلِيَتۡ عَلَيۡہِمۡ ءَايَـٰتُهُ ۥ زَادَتۡہُمۡ إِيمَـٰنً۬ا وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ يَتَوَكَّلُونَ

ٱلَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ يُنفِقُونَ

The believers are only those who, when Allaah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses [this Qur’an] are recited unto them, they [i.e. the Verses] increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord [Alone]. They perform the prayer and spend out of that We have provided them. [Surah Al-Anfaal’ Aayaat 2-3]

Whenever the Aayaat are recited to those believers – those who achieve this great status which Allaah [mentioned and attributed] to those scholars who truly act upon knowledge; the learned people of sound understanding, who possess a firm and sound understanding of the Qur’aan – they increase in Eemaan until their Eemaan becomes like mountains.

These scholars – the ones whom Allaah [mentioned with praise] – possess a firm and sound understanding of the Qur’aan and they increase in Eemaan through recitation of its Aayaat. They ponder upon the  Aayaat that [mention] Tawheed, the Aayaat that [mention] the [Perfect] Names and Attributes of Allaah, the Aayaat that [mention] Tawheed Al-Ibaadah, the Aayaat regarding  Allaah’s promise, the Aayaat regarding Allaah’s threat-which are many in the Great Qur’aan-, the description of Paradise and its bliss- its castles, Hoor [fair females with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious)], and its gardens and rivers; and [they ponder upon the description] of the hell fire – its  Agh’laal [iron chains, iron collars], hardship and severe punishment- we seek Allaah’s Refuge from it. So, he [or she] believes in this Jannah and thus increases in desire for it; and believes in the fire and thus increases in fear of it, because he [or she] is a believer- one who knows and acts. Wind Released From The Front Awrah of a Female – [Does It Nullify Ablution?]

Question: There is a woman, who when she performs Ruku and Sujood-especially at the end of the Sujood, the sitting between the two Sujoods and the sitting for the Tashahhud- air is released from her private part (i.e. the vagina) to the extent that those close to her do hear it; so is her prayer nullified? And sometimes little air is released and no one hears it, so is her Salaah and Wudhu nullified?

Answer: The release of air from the front private part (i.e. the vagina) does not nullify Wudhu.

Do I Have to Perform Ablution After Giving My Child a Wash?

If a woman gives her little son or daughter a wash and touches the private part of (the child), it is not obligated on her to perform Wudhu; rather she only washes her hands. That is because touching the private part without sexual desire does not make Wudhu obligatory. And it is well known that sexual desire does not come into the thoughts of a woman who gives her children a wash; so after she gives a little girl or boy a wash, she only washes off the impurity on her hands, but Wudhu is not obligated on her.
