The Nafs Must Be Restrained: [This One Calls You to Deeds He Is Certain Will Destroy You And Then Frees Himself When You Are In Trouble]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Most High] said: [كَمَثَلِ الشَّيْطَانِ إِذْ قَالَ لِلْإِنسَانِ اكْفُرْ فَلَمَّا كَفَرَ قَالَ إِنِّي بَرِيءٌ مِّنكَ إِنِّي أَخَافُ اللَّهَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِينَ – [Their allies deceived them] like Shaitan [Satan], when he says to man: ‘’Disbelieve in Allah.’’ But when [man] disbelieves in Allah, Shaitan [Satan] says: I am free of you, I fear Allah, the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!] [59:16]

Shaytaan beautifies disbelief for the human being and calls him to it. So, after he is deceived by shaytaan, disbelieves and ends up in a wretched state, he will not be benefited by shaytaan, who took him as an ally and called him to disbelief; rather shaytaan frees himself from him, saying: ‘’I am free of you, I fear Allah, the Lord of the ‘Alamin [mankind, jinns and all that exists]!’’- Meaning: Neither do I have the power to repel the punishment of Allaah from you nor can I even benefit you with something of an atom’s weight. [An Excerpt from ‘Tayseer Al-Kareem Ar-Rahmaan Fee Tafseer Kalaam Al-Mannaan’. Slightly paraphrased]
