Ibnu Uyaynah (rahimahullaah) said: Among the supplications of Muttarrif Bin Abdillaah (rahimahullaah) was (that he used to say): ”O Allaah I seek your forgiveness for returning to what I repented from; and I seek your forgiveness for that which I made binding upon myself to perform for you, yet I did not fulfill it; and I seek your forgiveness for that which I thought I was to perform whilst seeking your Face, but then something else comes in my heart alongside what I may have carried out. [Jaami-ul Uloom Wal-Hikam: page: 24]
