In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of MercyAllaah (The Most High) said:

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يُعْجِبُكَ قَوْلُهُ فِي الْحَيَاةِ الدُّنْيَا وَيُشْهِدُ اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا فِي قَلْبِهِ وَهُوَ أَلَدُّ الْخِصَامِ

And of mankind there is he whose speech may please you in this worldly life, and he calls Allah to witness as to that which is in his heart, yet he is the most quarrelsome of the opponents. [Al-Baqarah: Ayah 204]

Imaam as-Saa’di (rahimahullaah) mentions some characteristics of this type of person—that his speech attracts the attention of the listener and seems as if it contains benefit. However, his speech opposes his actions, and when you argue with him, you find him to be from the most difficult, quarrelsome and bigoted amongst the people. [An Excerpt from Tafseer As-Sadi]
