Allaah [The Most High] said:

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُونُواْ قَوَّٲمِينَ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ شُہَدَآءَ لِلَّهِ وَلَوۡ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡ أَوِ ٱلۡوَٲلِدَيۡنِ وَٱلۡأَقۡرَبِينَ‌ۚ إِن يَكُنۡ غَنِيًّا أَوۡ فَقِيرً۬ا فَٱللَّهُ أَوۡلَىٰ بِہِمَا‌ۖ فَلَا تَتَّبِعُواْ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ أَن تَعۡدِلُواْ‌ۚ وَإِن تَلۡوُ ۥۤاْ أَوۡ تُعۡرِضُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرً۬ا

O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah; even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allah is a Better Protector to both (than you). So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you may avoid justice, and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do. [Surah An-Nisaa. Ayah 135]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said: Allaah [Glorified be He and Free is He From all Imperfections] commanded His servants to stand out firmly for justice on behalf of everyone –  be it an enemy or an ally. And the affair that is most worthy of being established with justice -by a person- are the [sound and upright] statements, views and methodology related to the commands of Allaah as well as everything that Allaah has informed [His slaves in the Qur’aan and the authentic Sunnah]. Therefore, to establish these affairs based on desires and disobedience is contrary to the command of Allaah and a negation [i.e. either intentionally or unintentionally] of that which Allaah’s Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] was sent with [i.e. the Qur’aan and the authentic Sunnah].

A person has to establish justice when dealing with his enemies and [when dealing with] that one who deprives him of his rights; for indeed it is not permissible that hatred harboured against his enemies leads him to be unjust towards them, just as it is not permissible [to allow] love of himself, his parents and relatives to make him abandon standing firmly for justice against them. Therefore, hatred harboured against someone should not lead him to falsehood, and love [of himself, parents and relatives] should not make him fall short in establishing truth, just as some of the pious predecessors said, “The just person is that one who when angry, his anger does not lead him to falsehood, and when he is pleased, it does not remove him from truth”. [وَإِن تَلۡوُ ۥۤاْ أَوۡ تُعۡرِضُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرً۬ا – and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do]. Indeed, brothers and sisters, we are all witnesses to the fact that many amongst mankind- especially many amongst the journalists – neither speak the truth nor bear witness to the truth, rather they exaggerate, lie and mix truth with falsehood. Indeed, it has become very manifest that Jason Burke and associates have another agenda behind their criticisms against the wicked Khaarijites [ISIS, Al-Qaida, Al-Shabaab, Boko Haram etc] due to the fact that they employ the satanic methodology of King Louis IX, who after being captured in the year 1250 whilst on a crusade against the Muslims of Egypt and was imprisoned, he was then released after paying a large ransom. However, whilst in prison, he utilised his time to think about ways in which to plot against Islaam and the Muslims, so shaytaan inspired him with the following plots: firstly, the war in the battlefield between the Christians of the west and the Muslims should be replaced with a war based on ideas and cultural supremacy; secondly: prepare the West to corrupt the creed of the Muslims and distort the image of Islaam in the world. This affair – utilising such terms – was recently mentioned by the police and here is that which manifests what is in Jason Burke’s heart and mind:

Firstly, in the above tweet, Jason Burke describes the suggestion as a CRAZY IDEA, because obviously – brothers and sisters – he is one of those obsessed with these terms and they are nothing but the filthy legacy of King Louis IX – a cultural war to distort the image of pure Islaam in the world! Therefore, if this suggestion is a CRAZY IDEA – meaning, a STUPID or UNREASONABLE IDEA, then we are made to believe that it is a sensible, reasonable and good idea, and it is also good to lie and twist reality by applying the term Islamist to those whose terrorist methodology and innovated political activism is completely against the pure teachings of Islaam. Jason cannot come to terms with the fact that the truth cannot be hidden forever, rather we are well-acquainted with the deceptions of those who hide truth, as Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “When a proof that supports the truth is manifested and the one who wants to repel it finds no way of doing so, he refrains from mentioning it and thus becomes a silent devil, and sometimes he distorts it”. The upright scholars of Islaam [may Allaah raise their rank] also informed us that “The reality of lying is to give news of something in opposition to the true state of affairs. This transmission of news is not limited to speech, rather it can be through action, such as making an indication with one’s hand or nodding one’s head and it can be through silence. It is said that the liar is a thief, because the thief deceives you with regards to your wealth and the liar deceives you with regards to your intellect”. [Ref 4]

Therefore, the problem is not merely about the wicked khaarijites [ISIS, Al-Shabaab, Boko Haraam, Al-Qaida etc] and those ignorant Muslims who are submerged in the innovated satanic methodology of political activism; rather we also face fierce opposition and a great trial from the likes of Jason Burke who utilises the satanic methodology of King Louis IX – utilising concepts and terms that distort the image of pure Islaam. This is why Jason thinks that it is a CRAZY IDEA if the term ‘Islamist’ is dropped when describing terrorists who use Islaam as proof for their satanic deeds and methodology.

Secondly, Jason once again – as we mentioned in a previous article (Ref 5) – employs Damage Limitation Exercise by suggesting that ‘maybe they could just call them terrorist attacks’. Yes indeed, we agree with Jason that they should be called terrorists because this is what agrees with absolute reality, however Jason did not give this reality the attention and affirmation it truly deserves; rather he is being economical with the truth, because he first affirmed that it is a CRAZY IDEA, but then suggests an alternative – that the deeds of the Khaarijites, ‘maybe they could just call them terrorist attacks’. This is blatant sophistry!

Finally, indeed – as Muslims following the understanding of the Prophet’s companions – we are commanded to exercise patience, whether people cease utilising these terms in such a deceitful manner or choose to follow the Satanic path of king Louis IX. By the Will of Allaah and His Assistance, we’ll exercise patience, continue utilising the statements of the upright scholars to clarify the truth and refute everyone – Muslims and Non-Muslims – who propagate misconceptions about the pure Islamic Methodology and Creed. As for Jason and his ilk – those who want to follow shaytaan’s path of slander, deception and distortion, then indeed your Lord stated in the final revelation:

لَتُبۡلَوُنَّ فِىٓ أَمۡوَٲلِڪُمۡ وَأَنفُسِڪُمۡ وَلَتَسۡمَعُنَّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ مِن قَبۡلِڪُمۡ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشۡرَكُوٓاْ أَذً۬ى كَثِيرً۬ا‌ۚ وَإِن تَصۡبِرُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ فَإِنَّ ذَٲلِكَ مِنۡ عَزۡمِ ٱلۡأُمُورِ

You [Muslims upon the right path] shall certainly be tried and tested in your wealth and properties and in your personal selves, and you shall certainly hear much that will grieve you from those who received the Scripture before you and from those who ascribe partners to Allah, but if you persevere patiently, and become the pious, then verily, that will be a determining factor in all affairs, and that is from the great matters, [which you must hold on with all your efforts]. [Surah Aal Imraan. Aayah 186]

And Allaah [The Exalted] said: [وَجَعَلْنَا بَعْضَكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ فِتْنَةً أَتَصْبِرُونَ – And We have made some of you as a trial for others: will you have patience?] [Soorah Al-Furqaan Aayah 20]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said that Az-Zujaaj [rahimahullaah] said, “This Aayah means, ‘Will you not exercise patience when afflicted and indeed you know what the patient ones will receive?!'”  I [Ibnul Qayyim] say:  Allaah [The Glorified be He and free is He free from all imperfections] bounded affliction with patience in this Aayah and also in His saying:  [ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا فُتِنُوا ثُمَّ جَاهَدُوا وَصَبَرُوا  -Then, verily! Your Lord for those who emigrated after they had been put to trials and thereafter strove hard and fought (for the Cause of Allah) and were patient”. [Soorah An-Nahl: Ayah: 110]

There is no remedy like patience for the one put to trial! If he exercises patience, then that trial becomes a (source) of purification and rescue from sins, just as the bellows purifies gold and silver. Trials are the bellows of the hearts and the test for one’s Eemaan, and by way of it the truthful one is distinguished from the liar.  Allaah [The Most High] said:

وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْكَاذِبِينَ

And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test).’’ [Soorah Al-Ankabut: Ayah: 3]

Trials categorise people into truthful ones and liars, believers and hypocrites, good and wicked. So whoever exercises patience in facing trials, then this is a mercy for him and a safety from a greater trial due to his patience.  And whoever does not exercise patience in facing a trial will fall into a trial more severe than it.
