Part 2: Brief Rebuttal Against Hasan Hasan – Pseudo Researcher In Issues of Salafiyyah and Mighty Slanderer Against Salafiyyoon!
In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.
The Pseudo researcher – the Faajir Liar Hasan Hasan– stated:
“The Isis ideology is generally viewed as identical to al-Qaida’s or the Saudi version of Salafism – adherence to fundamental Islamic tenets – and so there does not seem to be a serious effort to study it more closely”.
Firstly, Hasan Hasan spoke the truth when he identified ISIS’s and Al-Qaida’s path as an ideology, because it is expected from the people of falsehood like him to utter a word of truth by way of which they can confound it with falsehood. Allaah [The Most High] said:
وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ
And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you know (the truth). [2:42]
Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said:
Allaah forbade (us) from mixing truth with falsehood, and thus leading to concealment of the truth. Mixing truth with false is by mixing the two until one of them is confused for the other. This is forgery and deceit by way of which what is made apparent is the opposite of what it is in reality. Likewise, when truth is confounded with falsehood, the culprit manifests falsehood in the image of truth and speaks with a statement that carries two meanings- a correct meaning and false meaning, so the listener is under the illusion that the speaker intends the correct meaning, whilst he (i.e. the speaker) intends the corrupt meaning. [Ref A]
Indeed, Hasan Hasan uttered a word of truth when he identified ISIS’s and Al Qaida’s path as an ideology, because there is no doubt that their path is an idea and a religious innovation, and the noble Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] did say, “You must adhere to my Sunnah and the way of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs [Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthmaan and Ali] after me. Adhere to it and cling to it firmly, and beware of newly invented matters in the religion, for every newly invented matter in the religion is an innovation in religion and every innovation is a path leading to misguidance”. [Ref 1]
However, pure Islam, which is pure Sunniyyah and Salafiyyah, is neither based on the ideas of men nor is it an ideology; rather it is based on divine revelation. “Islaam is not a set of ideas, rather it is a divine revelation sent down – by the Lord of universe – in the Magnificent Qur’aan and the authentic Sunnah of the noble Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam]; the Messenger who never speaks based on his desires, rather [إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡىٌ۬ يُوحَىٰ – It (i.e. the Qur’aan and the authentic Sunnah conveyed he conveyed) is nothing else but a revelation that is inspired]. As for an idea, it can be [rejected, disapproved etc] and debated [or presented for discussion], and it may be correct or incorrect. Therefore, it is not permissible to associate Islam with the word ‘Idea (or ideology)’ because it is something specifically attributed to the creation [i.e. humankind and Jinn]. An idea [or a thought] can either be correct or wrong, but as for the Sharee’ah [i.e. the sound divine law, creed, acts of worship conveyed by the final Messenger (sallal laahu alayhi wasallam) from the Qur’an and the authentic Sunnah], it is infallible. Likewise, it is not to be said, “Islamic idea [or thought], because the scholar who has reached the level of Ijtihaad is restricted by the pure Sharee’ah, so he is not allowed to contemplate [outside the confines of the sound divine revelation] and then legislate; rather he searches and follows the legislated Islamic path of (sound) Ijtihaad in order to derive rulings”. [Ref 2]
Secondly, after identifying ISIS’s and Al Qaida’s path as an ideology, he uttered a mighty slander against Salafiyyah and stated that the ISIS ideology is generally viewed as identical to al-Qaida’s or the Saudi version of Salafism – adherence to fundamental Islamic tenets – and so there does not seem to be a serious effort to study it more closely”.
By Allaah, this statement is nothing else but a mighty slander and whisper from his rebellious devil. Fundamental Islamic Tenets are affirmed by all those within the fold of Islaam, such as the Five Pillars of Islaam, Six Pillars of Eemaan and Ihsaan, even though – due to ignorance – one will find that many hold an incorrect understanding related to these tenets – an understanding contrary to that of the Sahaabah. For example, the Soofi grave worshipers testify with their tongues that none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah, yet they contradict this testimony by invoking others besides Allaah.
So, the impression given by Hasan Hasan that ISIS’s ideology is similar to the Saudi version of Salafism, then indeed what this wicked liar and malicious slanderer intends – first and foremost – is that Salafiyyah has different versions. This is an outdated claim of all the devils who desperately sought to misconstrue Salafiyyah, but they were constantly refuted and exposed by the upright scholars and students of knowledge. Therefore, read what Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [hafidhahullaah] stated and then click on the link at the end of this paragraph for another clarification by Shaikh Abdul Waahid Abu Khadeejah [hafidhahulaah]. Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan stated:
Salafiyyah is to follow the Madhab of the Salafus Saaleh [pious predecessors] – the Sahaabah, the Taa’bi’een and the virtuous generations. Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُهَـٰجِرِينَ وَٱلۡأَنصَارِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُم بِـإِحۡسَـٰنٍ۬ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنۡہُمۡ وَرَضُواْ عَنۡهُ – And the first to embrace Islaam of the Muhaajiroon (those who migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah) and the Ansaar (the citizens of Al-Madinah who helped and gave aid to the Muhaajiroon) and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allaah is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him]. [9:100]
And Allaah [The Most High] said about the Sahaabah: [إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَهَاجَرُواْ وَجَـٰهَدُواْ بِأَمۡوَٲلِهِمۡ وَأَنفُسِہِمۡ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاوَواْ وَّنَصَرُوٓاْ أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ بَعۡضُہُمۡ أَوۡلِيَآءُ بَعۡضٍ۬ۚ – ‘Verily, those who believed, and emigrated and strove hard and fought with their property and their lives in the Cause of Allaah as well as those who gave (them) asylum and help, – these are (all) allies to one another [8:72] – up to His statement- [وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدُ وَهَاجَرُواْ وَجَـٰهَدُواْ مَعَكُمۡ فَأُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ مِنكُمۡۚ – And those who believed afterwards, and emigrated and strove hard along with you, (in the Cause of Allaah) they are of you]. [8:75 ]
Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all Imperfections] said in Surah Al -Hashar:
لِلۡفُقَرَآءِ ٱلۡمُهَـٰجِرِينَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُخۡرِجُواْ مِن دِيَـٰرِهِمۡ وَأَمۡوَٲلِهِمۡ يَبۡتَغُونَ فَضۡلاً۬ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضۡوَٲنً۬ا وَيَنصُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ۥۤۚ أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلصَّـٰدِقُونَ
وَٱلَّذِينَ تَبَوَّءُو ٱلدَّارَ وَٱلۡإِيمَـٰنَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ يُحِبُّونَ مَنۡ هَاجَرَ إِلَيۡہِمۡ
(And there is also a share in this booty) for the poor emigrants, who were expelled from their homes and their property, seeking Bounties from Allaah and to please Him. And helping Allaah (i.e. helping His religion) and His Messenger (Muhammad). Such are indeed the truthful (to what they say); And those who, before them, had homes (in Al-Madinah) and had adopted the Faith, love those who emigrate to them.” [59:8-9]- up until His [The Most High] statement: [وَٱلَّذِينَ جَآءُو مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَلِإِخۡوَٲنِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِٱلۡإِيمَـٰنِ – And those who came after them say: “Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in Faith]. 59:10
The Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: ”This ummah will split into seventy three sects; all of them will enter the fire except one. They said, ‘which is that (saved sects) O Messenger of Allaah? He (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) replied: ‘those who are upon that which I and my companions are upon today.” The Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: ”Adhere to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided Khulafaa after me”
Therefore, salafiyyah is the Methodology that has been obligated on us to follow and we are to abandon all other methodologies that are in opposition to it. The [people of salafiyyah] are the saved sect, Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaa-ah, and they are the aided group till the Day of Judgement. May Allaah include us amongst them.
However, ascription to this methodology [of the Salaf] requires [an acquisition of] knowledge of its fundamentals in order that the Muslim may adhere to it. [One is] required to have knowledge of the other methodologies that are in opposition to Salafiyyah in order to avoid them. Therefore, Salafiyyah upon the path of the pious predecessors has to be [followed] upon knowledge and clear sightedness. It is not enough for the person to ascribe himself to [salafiyyah] whilst being ignorant of it or being in opposition to it. For that reason Allaah [The Most High] said:[ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُم بِـإِحۡسَـٰنٍ۬ – And also those who followed them exactly (in Faith)].
They follow [them] with knowledge- they neither fall into extremism nor negligence. They neither exaggerate nor fail to give the affair its right- like those who ascribe themselves to the madhabs of the four imams [Abu Haneefah, Maalik, Shaafi’ee and Ahmad] whilst being in opposition to them in Aqeedah and Ibaadaat. And like the one who ascribes himself to the methodology of the Salaf, yet he either declares the Muslims to be disbelievers or rebels against the Muslim rulers, or he follows other directions towards extremism. This person is not a Salafi, rather he is named a khaariji or a Mutazili. Or like the one who ascribes himself to the methodology of the salaf, but speaks with the statement of the Mur’ji’a in the affair of Eemaan and Kufr. This is not salafiyyah.
Therefore, it is obligatory to pay attention to this affair and not to mix the Salafi methodology with the other methodologies that are in opposition to it, and then say: ”all these methodologies [including the salafi methodology] are not from Islaam.” This is recklessness in speech, an oppressive judgement and deception against the people. Thirdly, we ask Hasan Hasan– the Faajir liar, “Who in Saudi is upon the ideology of ISIS and Al-Qaida? Is it the rulers of Saudi, the Senior Scholars – Shaikh Fawzaan, Shaikh Abdul Azeez Aala Shaikh, Shaikh Al-Luhaydaan, Shaikh Ghudiyaan, Shaikh Rabee, Shaikh Ubaid, or is it those afflicted by the ideology of false takfeer and Ikhwaanism – those afflicted by the religious innovations of Sayyid Qutb and Hasan Al-Bannah?! The rulers of Saudi and the senior scholars are not upon the ideology of false Takfeer and rebellion, which is one of the distinguishing sign of the Khawaarij – ISIS, Al Qaida and their ilk. Indeed, after reading the information presented in this article [i.e. the links] regarding the clear distinction between Salafiyyah and the methodology of ISIS, then one clearly sees that not only is Hasan Hasan a pseudo researcher and pretender in this subject matter; rather he is a vile speculator and a malicious slanderer, because how can anyone make similarities between ISIS and Salafiyyah, and likewise seeking to propagate the outdated claim that Salafiyyah is of different versions. Let us inform Hasan Hasan about some of the distinguishing characteristics of the Khawaarij – those emulated by ISIS, Al Qaida and their ilk.
Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] said:
“The people of bidah, such as the khawaarij, they initiate an innovation [in the religion], excommunicate the one who opposes them and declare lawful the shedding of his [i.e. opponent’s] blood. These people [i.e. people of bidah] refute the bidah of each other, whilst he [i.e. the refuter] is also an innovator; so he refutes a bidah with another bidah, and falsehood with another falsehood”. [Ref 4]
Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] also said:
“The basis of the misguidance of these ones is their belief that the Imaams of guidance and the Jamaa’ah [i.e. the Salafus Saaleh] have exited the (confines) of justice and are misguided. This is the view of those who have abandoned the Sunnah, such as the Raafidah and those similar to them. And that which they consider to be oppression, they hold that it’s disbelief and then innovate rulings for it. These are the three stances -[i.e. they revile the Salaf, declare certain acts as oppression and then innovate rulings against them] – held by those who exit the Sunnah, such as the Harooriyyah [i.e. khawaarij], the raafidah and those similar to them. They isolate some of the fundamental principles of the Islamic Religion until they exit from it (completely), just like an arrow goes through a hunted game”. [Ref 5]
The above is one of the distinguishing characteristics of the Khawaarij, who innovate and then pass rulings against people. The rulers and senior scholars of Saudi are not upon this satanic methodology; however the desire for fame and a heart filled malice led Hasan Hasan to utter that mighty lie, fraudulent comparison and mighty slander in order to tarnish the image of pure Salafiyyah. Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi [hafidhahullaah] said, “How numerous are those who tell lies today against the carries of Salafiyyah and its callers! They hinder men from the path of Allaah by way of these lies to aid falsehood, spurious (stances, ideas, views etc), bidah, (views, stances, beliefs, ideas etc) that are destructive to the sound creed, methodology and virtuous manners”. Finally, we remind the Faajir liar, malicious slanderer against Salafiyyah and Salafiyyoon – Hasan Hasan – regarding a statement of Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah], so that perhaps he may receive admonition and refrain from speaking about Salafiyyah.
Shaikhul Islaam [rahimahullaah] said:
“And when it is case that the true followers of the Prophets [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them] are people of knowledge and justice, therefore the speech of the people of Islaam and the true adherents to the Prophetic Sunnah regarding the unbelievers and the proponents of religious innovations has to be based on knowledge and justice, and not conjecture and what the soul desires. And due to this the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: “The judges are three: one will go to Paradise and two to Hell. A man who knows the truth and judges with it will enter paradise; a man who knows the truth but judges with the opposite of it will enter the fire, and a man who judges for the people based on ignorance will enter the fire’’. [Reported by Imaam Abu Dawud 3573] And when it is the case that the one who judges between the people in [affairs] of wealth, blood [i.e. murder cases, physical violence etc] and honour will enter the hell fire if he is not a just scholar, then how about the one who passes judgements – without knowledge and justice – on creeds, religions, the fundamentals of belief, divine knowledge and the general fundamental principles related to different subject matters, as is the case with ahlul bidah wal ahwaa [the proponents of religious innovations and desires]- those who follow the ambiguous doubtful matters, abandon those explicitly clear texts that have been transmitted by the Prophets [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them], cling to affairs that share an ambiguous similarity through mere analogy and opinions, and then present affairs whose differences can neither be reconciled nor equated, just as is the case with the unbelievers and all the proponents of religious innovation and followers of desires, who liken the creation to the Creator [i.e. they give the creation the Perfect Attributes that only belong to the Creator], and liken the Creator to the creation [i.e. by describing the Creator with the imperfect attributes of the Creation], and then they put forward an evil similitude for Allaah by way of thoughtless and confusing speech. This is because the false religion of the Christians is an innovated [or concocted] religion- innovated after the departure of the Messiah [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] and altered the religion of the Messiah through it; so they deviated from the Messiah’s [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] path and remained upon that which they innovated”. May Allaah guide Hasan Hasan or protect us from his vile tongue, fraudulent analysis, blatant lies and his malicious slanders against Salafiyyah Aameen.
