An Ideologue Says, “Freedom is The Most Valuable Thing”, We Say, “The Worldly Life is Prison of The Believer”.

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Abu Hurairah [may Allaah be pleased with him] narrated that the Messenger of Allaah [peace and blessings be upon him], said,

“The worldly life is a prison for the believer [in Allaah and the final Messenger] and a paradise for the disbeliever [in Allaah and the final Messenger]”. [Ref 1]

The Meaning of The Above Hadeeth

Imaam An-Nawawi [may Allaah have mercy be upon him] said:

Every believer is imprisoned and prevented – in the worldly life – from evil and repugnant desires and obligated to perform demanding acts of obedience. But after death, he relaxes and receives what Allaah [The Exalted] promised of permanent bliss and perfect relaxation. As for the disbeliever [in Allaah and the final Messenger], he gets what he receives in the worldly life together with the fact that it is very little and disrupted by distress. And after he dies, he finds himself in permanent punishment and eternal wretchedness. [Ref 2]

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:

Regardless how great the affair of the worldly life is – its good days and its dwelling places (surrounded by beautiful trees, plants, scenery  etc), then indeed it is like a prison for the believer, because a believer looks forward to a bliss that is better, more perfect and loftier. As for the disbeliever [in Allaah and the final Messenger], the worldly life is his paradise because he enjoys himself in it [i.e. outside the boundaries of halaal and haraam] and forgets the afterlife, and thus becomes like those about whom Allaah [The Exalted] stated:

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يَتَمَتَّعُونَ وَيَأۡكُلُونَ كَمَا تَأۡكُلُ ٱلۡأَنۡعَـٰمُ وَٱلنَّارُ مَثۡوً۬ى لَّهُمۡ

Those who disbelieve enjoy themselves and eat as cattle eat, and the Fire will be their abode. [Surah Muhammad Aayah 12]

Therefore, when the disbeliever dies, he does not find anything in front of him except the fire and Allaah’s punishment, and woe to the people of the fire. So that which is found in the worldly life of distress, grief, sadness and sorrow is like a paradise in relation to the state of affairs of the disbeliever [in Allaah and the final Messenger], because he will leave this world to receive Allaah’s punishment.

It has been mentioned about Ibn Hajar Al Asqalaani – the author of Fat’hul Baari – that he used to be the chief of the judges in Egypt in his era, and he used go past the market with an entourage. So, one day a Yahoodi stopped him and said, “Your Prophet said, ‘The worldly life is a prison of the believer and paradise of the disbeliever’, and how can this be the case whilst you are in a state of luxury and joy, and I am in a state of extreme poverty and low status?” So, Ibn Hajr said to him, “If in your view I am in state of joy and that people are at my service, then this state is a prison in comparison to what a believer will receive of bliss in Paradise. As for yourself, even though you are in state of extreme poverty and low status, then it is like paradise in comparison to what a disbeliever will receive in the fire”. So, the Yahoodi was amazed by this statement and then testified that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah. [Ref 3]

Therefore, we say to the ideologues, “Yes indeed freedom is a valuable thing and that is why the believers utilize it to perform deeds that will benefit them in the afterlife, and strive to distance themselves from the chief deceiver shaytaan, because either a person willingly submits to Allaah or he is enslaved by other things – desires etc.

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [rahimahullaah] said:

If a free person says that he is liberated [or free] and intends by it freedom from slavery to the creation, then yes he is free from slavery to the creation. However, if he intends by this that he is liberated (freed) from servitude to Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic], then indeed he has erred in his understanding of servitude and he does not understand the meaning of freedom because servitude to other than Allaah is bondage. As for servitude to Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic], then this is real freedom because if he does not humble himself to Allaah, he will humble himself to other than Allaah. So he deceives himself when he says that he is free [or liberated]- meaning: he is liberated from obedience to Allaah. [Ref 4]

The Corruption That Occurs When Humans Abandon The Revelation And Completely Depend On Their Intellects

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] said:

And even though there is something in the paths of analogical reasoning and reflection that will lead to knowledge, however sometimes it cannot give detail explanation in a dispute between the people of the earth due to the minute details and ambiguities [in that dispute], and at other times due to the fact the people differ when prioritising necessities. Therefore, due to this Allaah [The Most High] commanded [us] to return to the revelation in times of dispute. Allaah [The Most High] said: [ كَانَ ٱلنَّاسُ أُمَّةً۬ وَٲحِدَةً۬ فَبَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ وَأَنزَلَ مَعَهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ لِيَحۡكُمَ بَيۡنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فِيمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ‌ۚ -Mankind were one community (i.e. upon Tawheed and Allaah’s Sharee’ah) and Allah sent Prophets with glad tidings and warnings, and with them He sent the Scripture in truth to judge between people in matters wherein they differed]. [Surah Al-Baqarah’ Aayah 213] Therefore, Allaah [The Most High] designated the revealed Books [i.e. the Qur’aan being the final of them] as the judge between the people in matters wherein they differ.  [Ref 5]

Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al-Badr [may Allaah preserve him] said,

“If you say that the intellect is to be given precedence over the revelation, then which intellect should we follow? Are the intellects of the people combined in the intellect of one man or do they differ? There are intellects of the philosophers, the atheists, the heretics, the people of evil desires and those who confound truth with falsehood; and due to this one of the pious predecessors said, ‘Had the desires been one, it would have been considered to be the [basis of] truth’; therefore, we say, ‘Had the intellects been one, it would have been considered to be the [basis of] truth’”. [Ref 6]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

[إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى ٱلۡأَنفُسُ‌ۖ  – They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire]. There is a tremendous benefit derived from this, because the one deprived of sound Eemaan and the sound creed sent down as revelation by Allaah- The Lord of the everything in the existence, then his affair is one of two: Corruption in Knowledge or Corruption in his Intent– corruption in knowledge occurs as a result of following conjecture and corruption in one’s intent occurs as a result of following desires, or the person may combine both of them.

Another benefit derived from this is that the rectification or well-being of a person cannot be attained except by way of two affairs: Upright [or sound] Knowledge and Upright [or sound] Intent. This is why Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said in Miftaah Daarus Sa’aadah that a person is in need of two things: ‘[Sound] Knowledge by way of which he is [rightly] guided and lofty aspiration by way of which he is urged towards that [sound aspiration]’, because it maybe that a person has beneficial knowledge but not [sound] intent and aspiration.  Therefore, one cannot be upright except by way of upright knowledge and intent.  Sound knowledge is corrupted through following conjecture and sound intent is corrupted through following the desires of one’s soul. [Ref 7]

Shaikh Abu Iyaadh [hafidhahullaah] stated whilst discussing the harm of alcohol:

The wisdom of the Islamic Shariah: Cut off evils and harms to society from their very roots and enjoy the resulting freedom, ease and wholesome life. In contrast: the barbarity and backwardness of commercialising corrosive evils– usurious banking, alcohol, gambling–in order to profit from the masses through affairs in which their ruin and impoverishment lies–and then managing this commercialisation through legislation, policies, guidelines and so on to “limit the harms”. The result? Inescapable enslavement, bondage, disease and ruin of the masses for the enrichment of the few who peddle these vices. Where is the intellect?! [Ref 8]

Imaam As-Sadi [rahimahullaah] said:

The call of those who have deviated from the path of Allaah and the final Messenger is designed to do away with good manners [traits, characteristics etc], whose end result is nothing but complete chaos and a state in which one goes along with lust [or evil desires of the soul] until the animals become more noble and beneficial than humans. This is no doubt their state of affairs – clearly manifested by what they are upon and what they proclaim with their tongues. Among the most amazing of affairs is that many contemporary writers and politicians seek to remedy the many social ills and try to do so do from many angles, however as for the problem of deviation from Allaah’s path – whose surge has carried away the majority of young people, they have not rushed to stop it by returning to sound faith and certainty; rather they have been  abandoned to wander blindly in their misguidance and wavering in beguilement, and thus the social ills they seek to remedy gives birth to other social ills- because if the path to remedying social ills is not based on sound faith and sound religion, they will increase and become worse. [Ref 9]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

Is it then he, who laid the foundation of his building on piety to Allah and His Good Pleasure, better, or he who laid the foundation of his building on an undetermined brink of a precipice ready to crumble down, so that it crumbled to pieces with him into the Fire of Hell. And Allah guides not the people who are the Zaalimoon [polytheists and wrong doers]. [Soorah At-Tawbah: Ayah: 109]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said:

Whoever wants his building to be elevated, then it is incumbent upon him to strengthen and fortify its foundation, because the elevation of the building is based on the firmness and fortification of its foundation. Deeds are a building and Eemaan is their foundation. If the foundation is strong, it carries and elevates the building, and if a part of the building is damaged, it is easy for it to bear the [damage]; but if the foundation is not firm, then neither will the building be elevated nor will it be firm. And if something from the foundation is damaged, the building will either collapse or close to that. Therefore, the duty of a knowledgeable person is that he makes the foundation sound and fortified. As for the ignorant person, he elevates [the building] whilst building upon other than a [strong] foundation, so his building does not remain.

The foundation of deeds is like the physical strength of a person- if the strength is vigorous, the body will be able to withstand burden and repel many harmful things; but if it is weak, the body’s ability to withstand burden is weakened and harm quickly overcomes the person. Therefore, support your building [i.e. your actions and deeds] with the foundation of sound faith; for if something from the top of your building decays and falls down, then it would be much easier for the [building] to bear [the damage], rather than the destruction of the foundation. This foundation [i.e. sound faith] is based on two affairs:

Firstly: Sound knowledge and awareness of Allaah, His Commandments, Names and Attributes. Secondly: Complete submission to Allaah alone [i.e. by worshipping Him alone] and [unconditional obedience to] His Messenger alone. This is the firmest foundation upon which the slave establishes his building [i.e. his actions and deeds]. Therefore, one solidifies the foundation, preserves its strength and carries on being enthusiastic, and thus what is desired [i.e. success in this life and the next] will be reached [InShaaAllaah]. [Ref 10]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] also said:

The Creation [i.e. Humans and Jinns] Find Themselves Within Two Types of Neediness:

The first type of neediness is inevitable. It is a type of neediness that applies to everyone – the righteous and the wicked. It neither necessitates praise nor dispraise, neither reward nor punishment; rather it is solely due to the fact that the creation are created beings [i.e. absolutely in need and completely dependent on their Creator in every way].

The second type of neediness is one based on choice from which emanates two noble aspects of knowledge. The first one is the servant’s knowledge and awareness of his Lord and the second is knowledge and awareness of oneself in reality. As soon as one acquires these two types of knowledge, it brings about a type of neediness that becomes a person’s distinguished and most precious source of wealth, the means to success and happiness in [this life and the next]. The people’s different stations in this type of neediness depends on their different stations in these two affairs of knowledge.

Whoever knows that his Lord is the only One Who is Self-Sufficient [absolutely free from all wants and to Whom everyone and everything depends, and cannot do without in the twinkling of an eye], then he will know that he is completely in need.

Whoever knows that his Lord alone is the Possessor of Perfect Ability [possessor of All-encompassing Ability and able to do all things], he will know that he is completely unable [cannot do anything in the twinkling of an eye without the help of] his Lord.

Whoever knows that his Lord is The All-Mighty, he will know that he is one completely in a state of [complete poverty, weakness and want unless his Lord provides for him etc]. Whoever knows that his Lord is the possessor of All- Encompassing knowledge and Wisdom, he will know that he is ignorant. [Ref 11]

Finally, we remind ourselves of few verses of the Qur’aan:

Shaytaan is a Betrayer

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

(Their allies deceived them) like Shaitan (Satan), when he says to man: “Disbelieve in Allah.” But when (man) disbelieves in Allah, Shaitan (Satan) says: “I am free of you, I fear Allah, the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!” So the end of both will be that they will be in the Fire, abiding therein. Such is the  recompense of the Zalimun (i.e. polytheists, wrong-doers, disbelievers in Allah and in His Oneness, etc.). [Surah Al-Hashar. Aayaat 16-17]

We Can Never Be Other Than Allaah’s Slaves

The reality is that whether or not humankind worship their Lord and obey Him, they are still under His absolute control and will definitely return to Him. Allaah [The Most High] said:

There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Beneficent (Allah) as a slave. Verily, He knows each one of them, and has counted them a full counting. And everyone of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection (without any helper, or protector or defender). [Surah Maryam. Aayaat 93-95]

Death is a Reality

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

نَحْنُ قَدَّرْنَا بَيْنَكُمُ الْمَوْتَ وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَسْبُوقِينَ

عَلَىٰ أَنْ نُبَدِّلَ أَمْثَالَكُمْ وَنُنْشِئَكُمْ فِي مَا لَا تَعْلَمُونَ

وَلَقَدْ عَلِمْتُمُ النَّشْأَةَ الْأُولَىٰ فَلَوْلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ

‘We have decreed death to you all, and We are not unable. To transfigure you and create you in (forms) that you know not.   And indeed, you have already known the first form of creation (i.e. the creation of Adam), why then do you not remember or take heed?’56:60-62

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

وَهُوَ الْقَاهِرُ فَوْقَ عِبَادِهِ ۖ وَيُرْسِلُ عَلَيْكُمْ حَفَظَةً حَتَّىٰ إِذَا جَاءَ أَحَدَكُمُ الْمَوْتُ تَوَفَّتْهُ رُسُلُنَا وَهُمْ لَا يُفَرِّطُونَ

‘He is the Irresistible, Supreme over His slaves, and He sends guardians (angels guarding and writing all of one’s good and bad deeds) over you, until when death approaches one of you, Our Messengers (angel of death and his assistants) take his soul, and they never neglect their duty.’ 6:61

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

الَّذِي خَلَقَ الْمَوْتَ وَالْحَيَاةَ لِيَبْلُوَكُمْ أَيُّكُمْ أَحْسَنُ عَمَلًا ۚ وَهُوَ الْعَزِيزُ الْغَفُورُ

‘It is He who has created life and death, so that He may test which of you is best indeed’ (Surah Al- Mulk 67:2).

Allaah (The Most High) said:

قُلْ إِنَّ الْمَوْتَ الَّذِي تَفِرُّونَ مِنْهُ فَإِنَّهُ مُلَاقِيكُمْ ۖ ثُمَّ تُرَدُّونَ إِلَىٰ عَالِمِ الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ فَيُنَبِّئُكُمْ بِمَا كُنْتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ

‘Say (O’ Muhammed); ‘Indeed the death from which you flee will surely meet you. Then you will be sent back to (Allaah), the All-knower of the unseen and the seen, and He will tell you what you used to do’ (Surah Al-Jum’ah 62:8)

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Is it such a talk (this Qur’an) that you (disbelievers) deny? And instead (of thanking Allah) for the provision He gives you, on the contrary, you deny Him (by disbelief)! Then why do you not (intervene) when (the soul of a dying person) reaches the throat? And you at the moment are looking on, but We (i.e. Our angels who take the soul) are nearer to him than you, but you see not. Then why do you not, if you are exempt from the reckoning and recompense (punishment, etc.). Bring back the soul (to its body), if you are truthful? Then, if he (the dying person) be of the Muqarrabun (those brought near to Allah), (there is for him) rest and provision, and a Garden of delights (Paradise). And if he (the dying person) be of those on the Right Hand, then there is safety and peace (from the Punishment of Allah) for (you as you are from) those on the Right Hand. But if he (the dying person) be of the denying (of the Resurrection), the erring (away from the Right Path of Islamic Monotheism), then for him is entertainment with boiling water. And burning in Hell-fire. Verily, this! This is an absolute Truth with certainty. So glorify with praises the Name of your Lord, the Most Great. [Surah Al-Waaqi’ah. Aayaat 81-96]

True Reality of This Worldly Life

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And put forward to them the example of the life of this world, it is like the water (rain) which We send down from the sky, and the vegetation of the earth mingles with it, and becomes fresh and green. But (later) it becomes dry and broken pieces, which the winds scatter. And Allah is Able to do everything. Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world. But the good righteous deeds (five compulsory prayers, deeds of Allah’s obedience, good and nice talk, remembrance of Allah with glorification, praises and thanks, etc.), that last, are better with your Lord for rewards and better in respect of hope. [Surah Al-Kahf. Aayaat 45-46]

Reality of The Human being

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); and what will make you to know what At-Tariq (night-comer) is? (It is) the star of piercing brightness; there is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels in charge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) So let man see from what he is created! He is created from a water gushing forth, proceeding from between the back-bone and the ribs, verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! The Day when all the secrets (deeds, prayers, fasting, etc.) will be examined (as to their truth). Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), verily! This (the Qur’an) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil).  And it is not a thing for amusement. Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad). And I (too) am planning a plan. So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. [Surah At-Taariq]

Therefore, we ask the worshippers of freedom, “How can we turn away from our Lord and submit to our desires in the name of freedom, whilst knowing that one day we’ll leave this world and will be questioned?” This is the concern of the believers and they neither worship freedom nor do they take their desires as their god, rather they strive to worship their Creator with love, fear and hope.

And Allaah knows best

Say (O Muhammad): “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians): Come to a word that is just between us and you, that we worship none but Allah, and that we associate no partners with Him, and that none of us shall take others as lords besides Allah. Then, if they turn away, say: “Bear witness that we are Muslims]. [Surah Aal Imraan. Aayah 64]

Ibn Abbaas [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] said:

Abu Sufyan bin Harb [radiyallaahu-anhu] informed me that Heraclius had sent a messenger to him while he had been accompanying a caravan from Quraish. They were merchants doing business in Sham (Syria, Palestine, Lebanon and Jordan), at the time when Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) had truce with Abu Sufyan and Quraish infidels. So Abu Sufyan and his companions went to Heraclius at Ilya (Jerusalem). Heraclius called them in the court and he had all the senior Roman dignitaries around him. He called for his translator who, translating Heraclius’s question said to them, “Who amongst you is closely related to that man who claims to be a Prophet?” Abu Sufyan replied, “I am the nearest relative to him (amongst the group).”

Heraclius said, “Bring him (Abu Sufyan) close to me and make his companions stand behind him.” Abu Sufyan added, Heraclius told his translator to tell my companions that he wanted to put some questions to me regarding that man (The Prophet) and that if I told a lie they (my companions) should contradict me.” Abu Sufyan added, “By Allah! Had I not been afraid of my companions labelling me a liar, I would not have spoken the truth about the Prophet.

Abu Sufyaan said: The first question he asked me about him was:

‘What is his family status amongst you?’

I replied, ‘He belongs to a good (noble) family amongst us.’

Heraclius further asked, ‘Has anybody amongst you ever claimed the same (i.e. to be a Prophet) before him?’

I replied, ‘No.’

He said, ‘Was anybody amongst his ancestors a king?’

I replied, ‘No.’

Heraclius asked, ‘Do the nobles or the poor follow him?’

I replied, ‘It is the poor who follow him.’

He said, ‘Are his followers increasing decreasing (day by day)?’

I replied, ‘They are increasing.’

He then asked, ‘Does anybody amongst those who embrace his religion become displeased and renounce the religion afterwards?’

I replied, ‘No.’

Heraclius said, ‘Have you ever accused him of telling lies before his claim (to be a Prophet)?’

I replied, ‘No. ‘

Heraclius said, ‘Does he break his promises?’

I replied, ‘No. We are at truce with him but we do not know what he will do in it.’ I could not find opportunity to say anything against him except that.

Heraclius asked, ‘Have you ever had a war with him?’

I replied, ‘Yes.’

Then he said, ‘What was the outcome of the battles?’

I replied, ‘Sometimes he was victorious and sometimes we.’

Heraclius said, ‘What does he order you to do?’

I said, ‘He tells us to worship Allah and Allah alone and not to worship anything along with Him, and to renounce all that our ancestors had said. He orders us to pray, to speak the truth, to be chaste and to keep good relations with our Kith and kin.’

Heraclius asked the translator to convey to me the following, I asked you about his family and your reply was that he belonged to a very noble family. In fact all the Apostles come from noble families amongst their respective peoples. I questioned you whether anybody else amongst you claimed such a thing, your reply was in the negative. If the answer had been in the affirmative, I would have thought that this man was following the previous man’s statement. Then I asked you whether anyone of his ancestors was a king. Your reply was in the negative, and if it had been in the affirmative, I would have thought that this man wanted to take back his ancestral kingdom.

I further asked whether he was ever accused of telling lies before he said what he said, and your reply was in the negative. So I wondered how a person who does not tell a lie about others could ever tell a lie about Allah. I, then asked you whether the rich people followed him or the poor. You replied that it was the poor who followed him. And in fact all the Apostle have been followed by this very class of people. Then I asked you whether his followers were increasing or decreasing. You replied that they were increasing, and in fact this is the way of true faith, till it is complete in all respects. I further asked you whether there was anybody, who, after embracing his religion, became displeased and discarded his religion. Your reply was in the negative, and in fact this is (the sign of) true faith, when its delight enters the hearts and mixes with them completely. I asked you whether he had ever betrayed. You replied in the negative and likewise the Apostles never betray. Then I asked you what he ordered you to do. You replied that he ordered you to worship Allah and Allah alone and not to worship anything along with Him and forbade you to worship idols and ordered you to pray, to speak the truth and to be chaste. If what you have said is true, he will very soon occupy this place underneath my feet and I knew it (from the scriptures) that he was going to appear but I did not know that he would be from you, and if I could reach him definitely, I would go immediately to meet him and if I were with him, I would certainly wash his feet.’ Heraclius then asked for the letter addressed by Allah’s Apostle

which was delivered by Dihya to the Governor of Busra, who forwarded it to Heraclius to read. The contents of the letter were as follows: “In the name of Allah the Beneficent, the Merciful (This letter is) from Muhammad the slave of Allah and His Apostle to Heraclius the ruler of Byzantine. Peace be upon him, who follows the right path. Furthermore I invite you to Islam, and if you become a Muslim you will be safe, and Allah will double your reward, and if you reject this invitation of Islam you will be committing a sin by misguiding your Arisiyin (peasants). (And I recite to you Allah’s Statement:)

‘O people of the scripture! Come to a word common to you and us that we worship none but Allah and that we associate nothing in worship with Him, and that none of us shall take others as Lords beside Allah. Then, if they turn away, say: Bear witness that we are Muslims (those who have surrendered to Allah).’ (3:64).

Abu Sufyan then added, “When Heraclius had finished his speech and had read the letter, there was a great hue and cry in the Royal Court. So we were turned out of the court. I told my companions that the question of Ibn-Abi-Kabsha) (the Prophet (ﷺ) Muhammad) has become so prominent that even the King of Bani Al-Asfar (Byzantine) is afraid of him. Then I started to become sure that he (the Prophet) would be the conqueror in the near future till I embraced Islam (i.e. Allah guided me to it).”

The sub narrator adds, “Ibn An-Natur was the Governor of llya’ (Jerusalem) and Heraclius was the head of the Christians of Sham. Ibn An-Natur narrates that once while Heraclius was visiting ilya’ (Jerusalem), he got up in the morning with a sad mood. Some of his priests asked him why he was in that mood? Heraclius was a foreteller and an astrologer. He replied, ‘At night when I looked at the stars, I saw that the leader of those who practice circumcision had appeared (become the conqueror). Who are they who practice circumcision?’ The people replied, ‘Except the Jews nobody practices circumcision, so you should not be afraid of them (Jews). ‘Just Issue orders to kill every Jew present in the country.’

While they were discussing it, a messenger sent by the king of Ghassan to convey the news of Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) to Heraclius was brought in. Having heard the news, he (Heraclius) ordered the people to go and see whether the messenger of Ghassan was circumcised. The people, after seeing him, told Heraclius that he was circumcised. Heraclius then asked him about the Arabs. The messenger replied, ‘Arabs also practice circumcision.’

(After hearing that) Heraclius remarked that sovereignty of the ‘Arabs had appeared. Heraclius then wrote a letter to his friend in Rome who was as good as Heraclius in knowledge. Heraclius then left for Homs (a town in Syrian and stayed there till he received the reply of his letter from his friend who agreed with him in his opinion about the emergence of the Prophet (ﷺ) and the fact that he was a Prophet. On that Heraclius invited all the heads of the Byzantines to assemble in his palace at Homs. When they assembled, he ordered that all the doors of his palace be closed. Then he came out and said, ‘O Byzantines! If success is your desire and if you seek right guidance and want your empire to remain then give a pledge of allegiance to this Prophet (i.e. embrace Islam).’

(On hearing the views of Heraclius) the people ran towards the gates of the palace like onagers but found the doors closed. Heraclius realized their hatred towards Islam and when he lost the hope of their embracing Islam, he ordered that they should be brought back in audience.

(When they returned) he said, ‘What already said was just to test the strength of your conviction and I have seen it.’ The people prostrated before him and became pleased with him, and this was the end of Heraclius’s story (in connection with his faith). [Ref 1]

A Brief Benefit And Admonition In The Above The Narration For The Cartoonists

Abu Sufyan added, “By Allah! Had I not been afraid of my companions labelling me a liar, I would not have spoken the truth about the Prophet.

Imaam Ibn Hajr [rahimahullaah] stated in Fat-hul Baari that this shows that they [i.e. the pagan Arabs] used to abhor lying [or used to consider it to be an ugly deed]- either based on what they followed from the previous revealed laws [i.e. the path of Ibraaheem (alayhis-salaam) etc] or it was something abhorred in their customs. [An Excerpt. For further details, see Fat-hul Baari]

Indeed, the Arabs abhorred lying, but the cartoonists and those leaders who support them fabricate lies in he name of freedom of speech! These cartoonists and their leaders are the same ones claiming that they are civilized, yet they are not even decent enough to abandon lying in public. Also their double standards is clearly witnessed by everyone whilst they claim to be flag-bearers of freedom of speech. They strongly object to the statements of those who belittle their wives, but support those who desperately seek to belittle the noble Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam].

[22] A Brief Rebuttal Against Ed Husain: [Clarification Regarding Slavery – By Shaikh Abu Khadeejah – In The Correct Manner Neglected By The Bewildered Philosopher]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Why Is Ed Husain Rebutted

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said:

“It is obligated on you to give detail and make a distinction, because unrestricted and general [statements] without clarification has indeed corrupted this existence [i.e. the world], and misguided the intellects and views [of the people] in every era”.

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [hafidhahullaah] said:

There has to be detail explanation. The one who is not proficient in giving detail should keep quiet, because benefit is not acquired from his speech. And every time error occurs, its cause is due to an absence of detail explanation regarding truth and falsehood. There has to be detail explanation and distinction and not to mix up [affairs]. Indeed, it may be that there is something of truth and falsehood in an opponent’s statement, so all of it is neither deemed to be false nor truth; rather there has to be a distinction between its truth and falsehood. All of it is neither rejected nor accepted; rather a distinction is made regarding the truth and what is correct and the falsehood and error in it. And if you are not proficient in giving detail, then you should not enter into this field. [1]

In an article written by Ed Husain about racism, atrocities committed during the war in Sudan and genocide, he stated: For the Nobel Prize winning novelist Wole Soyinka, the unwillingness to confront Arab racism is rooted in the role of Arabs in the slave trade. “Arabs and Islam are guilty of the cultural and spiritual savaging of the Continent,” he writes.

The Ethiopian academic Mekuria Bulcha estimates that Arab traders sold 17 million Africans to the Middle East and Asia between the sixth and twentieth centuries. Yet, there is an almost total reluctance on the part of Arab intellectuals to examine their central role in slavery, past or present. Any attempt to confront persistent Arab racism is shouted down by appeals to Arab/African solidarity against the neo-colonialist West, a sentiment that seldom moves beyond slogans. Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan, a member of the senior council of Wahhabi clerics responsible for writing Saudi school text books, states: “Slavery is part of Islam. Slavery is part of jihad and jihad will remain as long as there is Islam. It has not been abolished.” [End of quote]

Indeed, the truth, falsehood and ambiguities in the above statement must be unveiled, and the precise response can be found in the following clarifications by Shaikh Abdul Waahid Abu Khadeejah [hafidhahullaah].

[21] Brief Rebuttal Against Ed Husain: [No Excess By Blaming The French For Injustices Committed By Their Colonial Forefathers And No Sinful Negligence Similar to Ed Husain’s]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Why Is Ed Husain Rebutted

Ed Husain tweeted in disapproval:

The above statement of Ed Husain is a blatant mixture of truth and falsehood. This man behaves as if he is a worshipper of freedom – the freedom he utilises to promote Darwin’s theory of disbelief and the ideas of the heretical philosophers (al-Farabi, Ibn Sina, Al-Jaahiz etc). He utilizes every opportunity to propagate his satanic ideas, whether he has a valid point or not.

Firstly, If shaytaan Ed Husdain means that Muslims have no right to be angry when the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] and their religion is insulted, then indeed this would be another clear proof regarding the extreme deviation and immorality of this person.

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَـٰكَ شَـٰهِدً۬ا وَمُبَشِّرً۬ا وَنَذِيرً۬ا

لِّتُؤۡمِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَتُعَزِّرُوهُ وَتُوَقِّرُوهُ وَتُسَبِّحُوهُ بُڪۡرَةً۬ وَأَصِيلاً

Verily, We have sent you (O Muhammad) as a witness, as a bearer of glad tidings, and as a warner. In order that you (O mankind) may believe in Allah and His Messenger, and that you assist and honour him and (that you) glorify (Allah’s) praises morning and afternoon. [Surah Al-Fath. Aayah 8-9]

This Aayah is enough proof to show that a believer – not a hypocrite or one whose heart is dead – will be angry when any Prophet of Allaah is disrespected. Will Ed Husain not get angry if someone constantly slandered his parents, wife and other relatives, and then says, “Freedom of expression”? Will Ed Husain be pleased with such a person or would he not strive to prove that his family has been slandered and harassed?! This wicked and miguided fool – Ed Husain – defends president Macron, who supports those who slander and disrespect the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him], yet the president would not allow others to say belittle his wife. See below..

Secondly, with regards o Ed Husain’s statement that Muslims have no right to kill a single soul, then indeed this is truth. We do not blame any Non-Muslim French citizen for the crimes committed by their murderous forefathers during the colonial era.

Allaah [The Most High] said:

No burdened person (with sins) shall bear the burden (sins) of another. And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad); and that his deeds will be seen; then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). [Surah An-Najam. Aayaat 38-42]

Therefore, none is to be held accountable for the sins of his forefathers. Our relationship with French non-Muslims is to be based on the justice of Islaam. They cannot be held accountable, blamed or oppressed for the crimes committed by their forefathers during the colonial era.

Ed Husain is right to say that Muslims have no right to kill a single soul, and we do not say to either flatter Ed Husain or promote his erroneous ideas, rather we say so – first and foremost – due to the fact that our Lord told us that none is to be held accountable for the sins of others. Secondly, whilst living in the West, our Lord obligates on us to fulfil our covenants and protect our fellow citizens. Abdullāh Ibn ‛Amr narrated that Allah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, “Whoever kills a person who is granted the agreement of protection by the Muslims shall not smell the fragrance of Paradise though its fragrance can be smelled at a distance of forty years journey.”

[Reported by Bukhāree, no 6914]

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [rahimahullaah] stated during a tele-link, on the 28th July 2000:

Likewise I invite you to have respect for those people who have the right that they should be respected, from those between you and whom there is an agreement (of protection) [i.e. Non-Muslims]. For the land which you are living is such that there is an agreement between you and them. If this were not the case they would have killed you or expelled you. So preserve this agreement, and do not prove treacherous to it, since treachery is a sign of the hypocrites, and it is not from the way of the Believers.

And know that it is authentically reported from the Prophet that he said : “Whoever kills one who is under an agreement of protection will not smell the fragrance of Paradise.”

Do not be fooled by those sayings of the foolish people: those who say: ‘Those people are Non-Muslims, so their wealth is lawful for us [i.e. to misappropriate or take by way of murder and killing].’ For by Allaah – this is a lie. A lie about Allaah’s Religion, and a lie in Islamic societies.

O my brothers. O youth. O Muslims. Be truthful in your buying and selling, and renting, and leasing, and in all mutual transactions. Because truthfulness is from the characteristics of the Believers, and Allaah – the Most High – has commanded truthfulness – in the saying of Allaah – the Most High – “O you who believe – fear and keep you duty to Allaah and be with the truthful.”

And the Prophet encouraged truthfulness and said : “Adhere to truthfulness, because truthfulness leads to goodness, and goodness leads to Paradise; and a person will continue to be truthful, and strive to be truthful until he will be written down with Allaah as a truthful person“.

And he warned against falsehood, and said : “Beware of falsehood, because falsehood leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire. And a person will continue lying, and striving to lie until he is written down with Allaah as a great liar.”

O my brother Muslims. O youth. Be true in your sayings with your brothers, and with those Non-Muslims whom you live along with – so that you will be inviters to the Religion of Islaam, by your actions and in reality. So how many people there are who first entered into Islaam because of the behaviour and manners of the Muslims, and their truthfulness, and their being true in their dealings. [Ref 3]

Shaikh Abdul Waahid Abu Khadeejah [hafidhahullaah] said:

Indeed, terrorist acts, whether perpetrated in Muslim or Non-Muslim countries are a handiwork of the devil. The Scholars- Shaikh Fawzaan, Shaikh Rabee, Shaikh Ubaid, Shaikh Abdullaah al-Bukhaari and many others have always condemned those who perpetrate terrorist acts; rather the scholars hold that those who plot and plan these inhumane acts are to be reported to the authorities. Therefore, Muslim communities must be at the forefront of stamping out these non-Islamic acts that are done falsely in the name of Islam. The Prophet Muhammad [peace and blessings be upon him] stated: ‘’Whoever sees an evil, let him change it with his hand. If he is not able to do that, then let him change it with his tongue [by speaking]. And if he is not able to do that, then let him [hate it] with his heart, and that is the weakest of faith.’’ (Reported by Muslim)

The Scholars have stated that forbidding evil with the hand is done by the governments and the authorities, so they hold and punish and imprison the evil doers. If they withhold from this duty, it does NOT fall into the hands of the citizens to take the law into their own hands. Rather they remain patient. As for speaking against the evil in terms of refuting the false ideologies, then that it for the scholars and the people of knowledge, not for ignorant, and there has never been a time in the history of Islam, except that the scholars have spoken out against evil ideologies and doctrines as a safeguard for Islam, and this will not stop up until the final Hour is established. As for the general person then he forbids only in accordance to his knowledge and ability in line with the rulings of the true scholars of the Sunnah based upon the Qur’aan and the Sunnah. As for hating with the heart, then this for the one who recognizes evil, but does not have the knowledge nor the ability to speak against this, so he distances himself from it and keeps away from it.

Therefore, as it relates to the terrorists, then it is well-known that their evil and inhumane acts are condemned by the Muslim scholars based upon the texts of the Qur’aan and authentic Prophet narrations. So both, a Muslim student of knowledge and the general person is to inform the authorities of those that incite or plan terrorist acts. And this is from the aspect of forbidding evil and thereby earning the reward of Allaah [The Most High].

Another reason why these terrorists and their ideology must be stamped out is due to the fact that they are innovators who have attributed to Islaam, that which Islam is free of, and it is impermissible to accommodate them or defend them or protect them, due to the statement of the Prophet [salallaahu alaihi wassallam], ‘’Whoever innovates or accommodates an innovator, then upon him is the curse of Allaah, His Angels and the whole of mankind.’’ (Reported by Bukhaaree and Muslim). And there is not a shadow of a doubt from an Islamic perspective, that these terrorist ideologies are innovations and these perpetrators are innovators, and it is not permissible to protect them or give them refuge.

One can recognize the ideology of the these evil doers from certain matters that their lectures and discussions always revolve around, from them is that they always call for rebellion and revolution in the Muslim lands and against the Muslim rulers; they declare the Muslim rulers and those who work in the apparatus of government to be apostates; they praise the suicide bombers and terrorists and insurgencies in Iraaq, Palestine and other places and continually justify their actions; they may praise the bombings of 9/11 in New York, 7th July bombings in London or the Madrid bombings. These discussions of theirs may not necessitate that they themselves will organize or carry out terrorist acts but this speech of theirs incites others towards violence. Remember it only takes two or three young men (or women) who have been affected to go out and wreak havoc. The Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu alaihi wassallam), mentioned these renegades (known as the Khawarij) in a narration, ‘’If I am alive when they appear, I will slaughter them with the slaughtering of Aad.’’ And Aad was a tribe mentioned in the Qur’aan that was punished by Allaah for their evils and transgressions. He also stated, ‘’They are the worst of Allaah’s creation under the sky.’’ There are many, many other narrations of the Prophet and his Companions describing them, to the extent that Shaikhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah and Imaam an-Nawawee, two great scholars of the middle ages, stated the consensus of the great Scholars of the early generations of Islaam that these renegades must be prevented and fought against.  So when one looks at the activities of these people such as the killing of men, women and children, Muslim and non-Muslim alike, one sees that they are indiscriminate in their murderous acts.

After what has been mentioned above one can see why the Scholars of Salafiyyah have issued verdicts calling people to inform the authorities if they know of anyone inciting or planning terrorist acts.  There is NO doubt that those make a link between terrorism and what they term as ‘’The Wahhaabis’’, intending by that the Salafis, have made a mythical link based upon fallacies and falsehood. The great Scholar Muhammad Ibn Abdul-Wahhaab (died 1206AH), after whom his adversaries invented the derogatory term ‘Wahhaabi’ for anyone who studied his works – then this Scholar was the most fervent in his opposition to deviation and deviant ideologies. Rather the Salafis, whom the opposers term as Wahhaabis, have been at the forefront of combating the takfeeri, Jihaadi and Terrorist ideologies, for decades. And this refutation of the Salafi scholars against these groups was not just a mere response to modern-day events but rather a religious obligation upon them regardless of prevailing circumstances.

So Syed Qutb, the father and reference point of the modern-day Jihadist-terrorist movements, was refuted by the Salafi Scholars for his call to assassinations and violent revolution decades ago and again in the early nineties by the likes of the Salafi scholars such as Shaikh Bin Baaz, Shaikh Bin Uthaimeen and especially in great detail by Shaikh Rabee bin Haadee al-Madkhalee who authored several books in exposition of Syed Qutb. Shaikh Bin Baaz warned and exposed the evil doctrine of Usamah bin Laden back in the early nineties, whilst the Islamic political groups were in praise of him. Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi is another reference point for the modern day violent politically motivated groups, yet the Salafi Scholars such as Shaikh Rabee al-Madkhali, Shaikh Ubaid al-Jaabiree, Shaikh Hammaad al-Ansaaree exposed his errors and warned against his approach.

Another example is the warning of the Salafi Yemeni Scholar Muqbil bin Haadee against the HAMAS of Palestine whilst the latter were supporting terrorist attacks on civilian buses in Israel. We also have the Scholarly Salafi stance against Hizbollah of south Lebanon and former leader of Iran, Khomeini such as the statements of Shaikh Bin Baz, Shaikh Bin Uthaimin, Shaikh Ahmad an-Najmi and others. Shaikh Ibn Uthaimeen in his now published explanation of ‘Riyaadhus-Saaliheen’ well over fifteen years ago showed his clear abhorrence at the suicide bombings in Palestine. So this is the clarity with which the Salafis speak and have always spoken. Over a thousand years of Salafi authorship, from the time of the disciples of the Prophet until this day, the Scholars of Sunnah and Salafiyyah have been refuting the false ideologies, whether extremist or negligent – Whereas the people of deviation will respond based upon political expediency, but the underlying ideology in support of revolution and suicide attacks remains. The Attacker Said, “Allaahu Akbar!!!” [It is An Obligation In Our Religion to Inform Non-Muslim Authorities About Those Misguided Muslims Who Plot to Murder Our Non-Muslim Fellow Citizens]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

It Is Not Betrayal, Rather It Is An Obligation to Report Terrorists to The Non-Muslim Authorities – By Allaamah Saaleh al-Fawzaan [hafidhahullaah]

http://www.answering-extremism.com/trans-pub/ae_saf_12.pdf

The Attacker said, “Allaahu Akbar”

Indeed, we constantly hear in the news that a person attacked and killed his fellow citizens, and that the attacker shouted “Allaahu Akbar” whilst committing his crime or after being arrested. If it is true that the attacker did shout “Allaahu Akbar”, then this shows – without a shadow of doubt – that such a person is extremely misguided and confused, because it is enough evil to murder a fellow citizen, let alone exalting Allaah whilst doing so. “Allaahu Akbar” is to be uttered in obedience to Allaah, whereas the one who utters it whilst murdering fellow non-Muslim citizens is committing one of the seven deadly major sins. Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَكَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيراً- And magnify Him (i.e. Allaah) with all the magnificence, (Allahu-Akbar -Allah is the Most Great)]. [17:111]

Imaam Ibn Jareer [rahimahullaah] stated in his Tafseer: Exalt your Lord O Muhammad through what He has commanded you to exalt Him- in speech and deeds; obey Him in what He has commanded you and with regards to what He has forbidden you [i.e. by keeping away from it]. [Ref 1]

Imaam Muhammad Al-Ameen Ash-Shanqeetee [rahimahullaah] stated: Exalt Allaah (with) a powerful exaltation, manifest the greatness of Allah by strongly guarding what Allaah has commanded, keeping away from what He has forbidden and hastening towards everything that pleases Allaah, which is similar to Allaah’s statement: [لِتُكَبِّرُوا اللَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا هَدَاكُمْ  -That you may magnify Allah for His Guidance to you. [Ref 2] [End of quote]

Therefore, to utter this statement “Allaahu Akbar” whilst committing a crime – murdering fellow non-Muslim citizens – shows the misguidance, confusion and barbarism of the perpetrator. The noble Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasalam] said: “Whoever kills a person protected by a treaty will not smell the fragrance of Paradise. Verily, its fragrance can be found from a distance of forty years of travel.” [Al-Bukhaari 6516]

Therefore, how can one justify murdering his fellow non-Muslim citizens when it is the case that we all live together under this agreement and promise one another – through the law of the land – that we’ll protect one another’s life and physical wellbeing?!

[Ref 4]

Some of The Supplications of The Prophets – [In Times of Difficulty And For Other Reasons]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Aadam [alayhis salaam]

Allaah [The Most High] said that Aadam and Hawwaa [alayhimas salaam] said:

[رَبَّنَا ظَلَمۡنَآ أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمۡ تَغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَتَرۡحَمۡنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡخَـٰسِرِينَ – Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You forgive us not, and bestow not upon us Your Mercy, we shall certainly be of the losers]- Meaning: Indeed, we committed the sin You forbade us from committing; we have harmed ourselves by committing the sin and have fallen into that which is a cause of loss unless you forgive us, wipe away the consequences of the sin and the punishment attached to it; grant us mercy by accepting our repentance and [free us from the calamity, harms etc] of the likes of these mistakes. So, Allaah forgave them just as Allaah stated:

وَعَصَىٰٓ ءَادَمُ رَبَّهُ ۥ فَغَوَىٰ

ثُمَّ ٱجۡتَبَـٰهُ رَبُّهُ ۥ فَتَابَ عَلَيۡهِ وَهَدَىٰ

Thus did Adam disobey his Lord, so he went astray. Then his Lord chose him, and turned to him with forgiveness, and gave him guidance. [Surah Tahaa. Aayaat 21-22]

Aadam attained success through five affairs: Acknowledgement of his sin, showed regret, blamed himself, hasten towards repentance and did not lose hope in Allaah’s Mercy. And Iblees was condemned to wretchedness through five affairs: He did not acknowledge his sin, he was not regretful, he did not blame himself, rather he blamed his Lord; he did not repent and he lost hope in Allaah’s Mercy.

[Fiqhul Ad’iyah Wal adkaar vol 4/343-346]

Nooh [alayhis salaam]

Allaah [The Most High] said that Nooh[alayhis salaam] said:

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوۡمِى كَذَّبُونِ

فَٱفۡتَحۡ بَيۡنِى وَبَيۡنَهُمۡ فَتۡحً۬ا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

He said: “My Lord! Verily, my people have belied me. Therefore judge You between me and them, and save me and those of the believers who are with me. [Surah Ash-Shu’araa. Aayaat 117-118]- Meaning: Judge between me and them – a judgement of Yours by way of which You’ll destroy the deniers and inflict punishment against those who disbelieve in You – those who wilfully deny that you alone have the right to be worshipped and belie Your Messenger. And he [i.e. Nooh] asked Allaah to save him and the people of Eemaan with him. Indeed, Allaah [The Exalted] clarified that He answered the supplication of His slave and Prophet,  Nooh [alayhis salaam]. Allaah said:

And We saved him and those with him in the laden ship. Then We drowned the rest (disbelievers) thereafter. Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. [Surah Ash-Shu’araa. 119-122]

[An Excerpt from Fiqhul Ad’iyah Wal-Adkaar. Vol 4. Page 348]

Ibraaheem [alayhis salaam]

Allaah [The Most High] informed us of a supplication of Prophet Ibraaheem [alayhis salaam] in Surah Ash-Shu’araa Aayaat 83-89:

[ رَبِّ هَبۡ لِى حُڪۡمً۬ا وَأَلۡحِقۡنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ – My Lord! Bestow Hukman on me, and join me with the righteous]- Meaning: Grant me abundant knowledge through which I will acquire knowledge of the rulings on what is halaal and haraam, and utilise it as a means of judging between the people. Place me together with the righteous people in this Dunyaa and Aakhirah; place me in the same station and status together with those Prophets who came before me.

And grant me an honourable mention in later generations]- Meaning: That I become one who is mentioned with good amongst the people who come after me.

The scholars say that indeed Allaah did answer Ibraaheem’s [alayhis salaam] supplications by granting him knowledge and wisdom which made him one of the most virtuous messengers; placed him in the same station with his brothers amongst the Messengers, one who is loved, accepted and praised amongst all the people who received revelation [i.e. nations of the Prophets who came after him].

[ وَٱجۡعَلۡنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيم- And make me one of the inheritors of the Paradise of Delight]- Meaning: Amongst those whom You will grant paradise and blessed with entry into paradise. Indeed, Allaah accepted his supplication by raising his status in the gardens of paradise.

And disgrace me not on the Day when [all creation] will be resurrected; the Day whereon neither wealth nor sons will avail; except him who brings to Allah a clean heart.

Meaning: O Allaah! Grant me [safety] from disgrace on the day of resurrection- the day in which all humankind will be resurrected, the first to the last of them; help me on that day in which neither wealth nor children will benefit a person except those with a clean heart. This is what will benefit a person, save him from Your punishment, bring a noble reward and a beautiful final abode.

The Clean Heart: It is the heart that is free of Shirk, doubt [in Allaah’s religion], love of evil, free from persistence upon bidah and sins. Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said, “The clean heart is the heart that is free from Shirk, [blameworthy] hatred, malice, [blameworthy] envy, vehement greed, pride, [blameworthy] love of the worldly life [i.e. it prefers the worldly life over the Aakhirah] and love of leadership [Ref 1]. It is the heart that is free from every evil that distances it from [obedience] to Allaah, free from every Shubhah  – [i.e. beliefs, views, opinions etc that resemble the truth but are falsehood in reality] – that opposes what Allaah has stated; free from every desire that opposes Allaah’s command; free from every want that contradicts what Allaah wants from a person and free from every obstacle that obstructs a person from [obedience to Allaah]. This clean heart is in a paradise of this quick passing worldly life [i.e. due to the pleasure derived from obedience to Allaah, love of Allaah, fear of Allaah, hope in Allaah etc]; and it will be in paradise in the life of the grave [i.e. bliss of the grave] and in paradise in the Hereafter. This heart cannot completely obtain safety until it is safe from five affairs: Safe from shirk which is a nullifier of Tawheed; safe from bidah which is a nullifier of the authentic Sunnah; safe from evil desire which is a nullifier of obedience to Allaah’s command; safe from heedlessness which is a nullifier of remembrance of Allaah and safe from vain desires which is a nullifier of obedience to Allaah and His Messenger, and sincerity. These five affairs [i.e. shirk, bidah, evil desires, heedlessness and vain desires] veils a person from [the path of] Allaah and under each of them there are many other affairs that cannot be enumerated. [Ref 2]

We ask Allaah- The Most Kind- to put us together with the righteous people and include us amongst those who will inherit the gardens of bliss in paradise, and that He does not disgrace us on the day humankind is resurrected – the day in which neither wealth nor children will benefit, except the one who comes to Allaah with a clean heart.

Yoosuf [alayhis salaam]

Allaah [The Most High] stated that Yoosuf [alayhis salaam] said:

My Lord! You have indeed bestowed on me of the sovereignty, and taught me the interpretation of dreams; The (only) Creator of the heavens and the earth! You are my Wali (Protector, Helper, Supporter, Guardian, etc.) in this world and in the Hereafter, cause me to die as a Muslim (the one submitting to Your Will), and join me with the righteous.” [Soorah Yoosuf: Ayah:101]

Regarding the statement: [أَنتَ وَلِيِّي فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ ۖ تَوَفَّنِي مُسْلِمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ – You [Allaah] are my Wali [Protector, Helper, Supporter, Guardian, etc.] in this world and in the Hereafter, cause me to die as a Muslim, and join me with the righteous], Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said: This supplication gathers within it a firm acknowledgement of Allaah’s Oneness [i.e Tawheed], submission to the Lord [Allaah], a manifestation of one’s need of Allaah, a declaration of one’s innocence from having a protector besides Allaah, [free is He from all imperfections], and that being enabled to die upon Islaam is the loftiest goal of the slave, and that it is [an affair] only in the hands of Allaah and not in the hands of the slave; an acknowledgement of the afterlife and seeking [to be included in the] company of those granted happiness and success.

[An Excerpt from ‘Al-Fawaa’d. page 286. slightly paraphrased]

Loot [alayhis salaam]

Allaah [The Exalted] stated that Loot [alayhis salaam] supplicated, saying:

رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهۡلِى مِمَّا يَعۡمَلُونَ

My Lord! Save me and my family from what they do. [Surah Ash-Shu’araa. Aayah 169]

This supplication teaches and guides the servants to hold on firmly to Allaah [The Exalted] and to seek Allaah’s rescue from evil deeds and statements; seek safety from its disgusting consequences, its evil and corruption, especially when evil becomes rife and the people openly commit it.

Punishment was sent upon the people. Allaah said:

Verily, we are about to bring down on the people of this town a great torment from the sky, because they have been rebellious (against Allah’s Command). And indeed We have left thereof an evident Ayah (a lesson and a warning and a sign the place where the Dead Sea is now in Palestine) for a folk who understand. [Surah Al-Ankabut. Aayaat 34-35]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

They [i.e. the angels] said: “We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); to send down upon them stones of baked clay. Marked by your Lord for the Musrifun (polytheists, criminals, sinners those who trespass Allah’s set limits in evil-doings by committing great sins). So We brought out from therein the believers. But We found not there any household of the Muslims except one [i.e. Lout (Lot) and his two daughters]. And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea , well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. [Surah Adh-Dhaariyaat. Aayaat 32-37]

Allaah [The Exlated] said:

فَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمۡرُنَا جَعَلۡنَا عَـٰلِيَهَا سَافِلَهَا وَأَمۡطَرۡنَا عَلَيۡهَا حِجَارَةً۬ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ۬ مَّنضُودٍ۬

مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ‌ۖ وَمَا هِىَ مِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ بِبَعِيدٍ۬

So when Our Commandment came, We turned (the towns of Sodom in Palestine) upside down, and rained on them stones of baked clay, piled up; marked from your Lord, and they are not ever far from the Zalimun (polytheists, evil-doers, etc.). [Surah Hud. Aayaat 82-83]

Shu’aib [alayhis salaam]

Allaah [The Exalted] stated that Shu’aib [alayhis salaam] supplicated saying:

رَبَّنَا ٱفۡتَحۡ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَ قَوۡمِنَا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَأَنتَ خَيۡرُ ٱلۡفَـٰتِحِينَ

Our Lord! Judge between us and our people in truth, for You are the Best of those who give judgment. [Surah Al-A’raaf. Aayah 89]

Meaning: “Judge between us because Your Judgement contains no wrong, inequity and oppression. Aid the truth and its people, and humiliate falsehood and its people. You are the best of those who judge”. Indeed, Allaah accepted Shu’aib’s [alayhis salaam] supplication, aided him and the believers and destroyed the unbelievers. Allaah [The Exalted] said: [وَلَمَّا جَآءَ أَمۡرُنَا نَجَّيۡنَا شُعَيۡبً۬ا وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مَعَهُ ۥ بِرَحۡمَةٍ۬ مِّنَّا وَأَخَذَتِ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ ٱلصَّيۡحَةُ فَأَصۡبَحُواْ فِى دِيَـٰرِهِمۡ جَـٰثِمِينَ – And when Our Commandment came, We saved Shu’aib and those who believed with him by a Mercy from Us. And As-Saihah (torment – awful cry, etc.) seized the wrong-doers, and they lay (dead) prostrate in their homes]. [Surah Hud. Aayah 94]

Moosaa and Haaroon [alayhimas salaam]

After Allaah [The Most High] inspired Moosaa [alayhis-salaam], appointed him a Prophet and showed him magnificent signs, he was then sent to Fir’awn – the king of Misr [Egypt].  Allaah [The Most High] said to Moosaa [alayhis-salaam]: [ٱذۡهَبۡ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِنَّهُ ۥ طَغَىٰ- Go to Fir’aun (Pharaoh)! Verily, he has transgressed all bounds] – Meaning: Fir’awn has rebelled and transgressed all the limits in disbelief and corruption. He has become haughty in the earth, overpowered the weak, claimed Ar-Ruboobiyyah [i.e. Lordship] and al-Uloohiyyah [i.e. that he deserves to be worshipped].

This transgression of his was the cause of his destruction, but due to Allaah’s Perfect Mercy, Wisdom and Justice, He does not punish anyone until after establishing the proofs by sending Messengers. Moosaa [alayhis-salaam] knew that he was going to carry a great responsibility because he was going to be sent to an obstinate and arrogant dictator, who had no opponent in Misr [Egypt] -amongst the people- to oppose him.

Moosaa [alayhis-salaam] was by himself after he accidentally killed someone [i.e. when he accidentally killed one of Fir’awn’s people, whilst defending a man from Bani Israaeel, so Fir’awn and his chiefs were determined to kill him]; however after Allaah [The Most High] commanded him to go to Fir’awn, he obeyed Allaah’s [The Most High] command, accepted it wholeheartedly, asked Allaah [The Most High] for assistance and to facilitate him with the ability to [fulfil the task].

Allaah [The Most High] said that Moosaa [alayhis salaam] said: [رَبِّ ٱشۡرَحۡ لِى صَدۡرِى – O my Lord! My expand my heart]- Meaning: Grant me self-confidence and courage so that I can bear both verbal and physical harm, and so that I neither grieve nor become fed up due such harm; for indeed a person with an aggrieved heart is not fit to guide and invite the people to [Allaah’s guidance].

[وَيَسِّرۡ لِىٓ أَمۡرِى – And ease my task for me]- Meaning: Grant me ease in every affair I pursue and every path I intend to follow, whilst calling to your guidance; and lighten the difficulties in front of me.

The caller is granted ease when he approaches all affairs in the appropriate manner; addresses every person based on what they should be addressed with, and calls them through a path that is easier for them to understand, which will enable them to accept his speech.

[وَٱحۡلُلۡ عُقۡدَةً۬ مِّن لِّسَانِى   – And make loose the knot (the defect) from my tongue, (i.e. remove the incorrectness from my speech) [That occurred as a result of a brand of fire which Musa (Moses) put in his mouth when he was an infant]; [يَفۡقَهُواْ قَوۡلِى – That they understand my speech].

Moosaa [alayhis-salaam] used to suffer from a speech impediment and it was difficult to understand his speech as the Mufassiroon have stated, just as Allaah [The Most High] said in another Aayah that Moosaa [alayhis-salaam] said: [وَأَخِى هَـٰرُونُ هُوَ أَفۡصَحُ مِنِّى لِسَانً۬ا– And my brother Haaroon (Aaron) he is more eloquent in speech than me]. Therefore, Moosaa [alayhis-salaam] asked Allaah [The Most High] to remove the speech impediment in order that what he says can be understood and the people he speaks to can clearly grasp what is intended by his speech.

[وَٱجۡعَل لِّى وَزِيرً۬ا مِّنۡ أَهۡلِى – And appoint for me a helper from my family];[ هَـٰرُونَ أَخِى- Haaroon (Aaron), my brother]; [ٱشۡدُدۡ بِهِۦۤ أَزۡرِى Increase my strength with him]-Meaning: To be my helper and my assistant in delivering the message to those whom you have sent me to deliver your message, just as Allaah [The Most High] said in another Aayah: [سَنَشُدُّ عَضُدَكَ بِأَخِيكَ وَنَجۡعَلُ لَكُمَا سُلۡطَـٰنً۬ا – We will strengthen your arm through your brother, and give you both power]. [وَأَشۡرِكۡهُ فِىٓ أَمۡرِى – And let him share my task]- Meaning: Grant him prophet-hood and make him a Messenger, just as you have made me a Prophet and a Messenger.

Then Allaah [The Most High] informed us of the benefit Moosaa [alayhis-salaam] was seeking by asking for such favours, which is: [كَىۡ نُسَبِّحَكَ كَثِيرً۬ا – That we may glorify You much]; [وَنَذۡكُرَكَ كَثِيرًا – And remember You much].

Moosaa [alayhis-salaam] knew that acts of worship and the religion revolves around remembrance of Allaah, so he asked Allaah to make his brother a partner in that – aiding and helping one another in righteousness and piety; remembering Allaah [The Most High] profusely by way of Tasbeeh [i.e. Subhaanallaah], Tahleel  [i.e. laa ilaaha illal laah] and other type types of worship.

You are of us Ever a Well-Seer] – Meaning: You know our situation and  weaknesses; what we can and cannot do, and our complete need of You in every affair. You see our affair more than us [i.e. you see everything and nothing escapes your sight] and you are more Merciful to us than we have for ourselves; therefore bestow upon us what we have asked You and respond to our supplication.

After Moosaa [alayhis-salaam] made these supplications and requests, Allaah [The Most High] said to him: [قَدۡ أُوتِيتَ سُؤۡلَكَ يَـٰمُوسَىٰ -You are granted your request, O Musa (Moses)]- Meaning: I will grant you everything you’ve asked. I will grant you courage, make your task easy and remove the speech impediment from your tongue, so that your speech is understood; and I will make your brother -Haaroon- your helper.  Allaah [The Most High] said in another Aayah:

[وَنَجۡعَلُ لَكُمَا سُلۡطَـٰنً۬ا فَلَا يَصِلُونَ إِلَيۡكُمَا‌ۚ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ أَنتُمَا وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكُمَا ٱلۡغَـٰلِبُونَ- And give you both power, so they shall not be able to harm you, with Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), you two as well as those who follow you will be the victors].

These requests made by Moosaa [alayhis-salaam] shows his perfect knowledge and awareness of Allaah [The Most High], his perfect discernment, perfect knowledge about affairs and perfect sincerity. That is because the caller to the path of Allaah- the one who guides the people, especially if the one being invited to the path of Allaah is from the obstinate and haughty ones, and transgressors- is need of a courageous heart and complete forbearance, in order to bear the harm he might come across. He is in need of clear speech, in order to be able to express himself to the one he intends and wishes to address. Rather, a person in such a situation [i.e. the caller] is need of clear eloquent speech in order to present the truth in a proficient manner, beautify it as much as he is able and make it appealing to the people. On the other hand, he shows the ugliness of falsehood, so as to repel people from it.

Besides this, the caller is in need of being granted ease in his task by approaching affairs in the proper manner – calling to the path of Allaah with wisdom, fine admonition and arguing in the best way. He should deal with every person whilst taking into consideration the situation of each person he addresses.

This affair becomes more accomplished when the caller has helpers and assistants, who will help him to reach this goal- because when many people speak, it will have an effect and that is why Moosaa [alayhis-salaam] made those requests. And if you examine the situation of the prophets – those sent to the people- you will discover this affair, especially the seal and most virtuous amongst them, Muhammad [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam]; for indeed he [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] was at the highest peak in every perfect and good human characteristic. He had a courageous heart and was facilitated with the means of calling to Allaah. His speech was eloquent – with fine expression and explanation- and he had companions who aided him to convey the truth, and [besides the Prophets and Messengers] none can ever excel those companions of Muhammad [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] after their departure from this world.

Sulaymaan [alayhis salaam]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

And there were gathered before Sulaiman (Solomon) his hosts of jinns and men, and birds, and they all were set in battle order (marching forwards). Till, when they came to the valley of the ants, one of the ants said: “O ants! Enter your dwellings, lest Sulaiman (Solomon) and his hosts crush you, while they perceive not.” So he [Sulaiman (Solomon)] smiled, amused at her speech and said: “My Lord! Inspire and bestow upon me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favours which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds that will please You, and admit me by Your Mercy among Your righteous slaves. [Surah An-Naml. Aayaat 17-19]

Brief Reminders From The Supplication

My Lord! Inspire and bestow upon me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favours which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and that I may do righteous good deeds that will please You, and admit me by Your Mercy among Your righteous slaves.

This is one of the most comprehensive supplications, the most suitable for Sulaymaan’s [alayhis salaam] circumstances and that which Allaah bestowed on him of mighty kingship and manifest bounty.

Inspire and bestow upon me the power and ability that I may be grateful for Your Favours which You have bestowed on me] – Meaning: Seeking from Allaah to bestow on him in particular the ability to be thankful due to that which Allaah bestowed upon him- the specific blessings given to him, such as enabling him to understand the speech of birds and being able to hear the speech of the ant. [وَعَلَىٰ وَٲلِدَىَّ – and on my parents]- Meaning: This shows that the blessings bestowed upon the two parents is a blessing for the child, so that is why Sulaymaan [alayhis salaam] asked his Lord to grant him the power and ability to be thankful for both the religious and worldly blessings that has been bestowed upon him and his parents – his father Dawud [alayhis-salaam] and his mother [i.e. Dawud’s wife] because she was one of the righteous and devoted worshipers of Allaah.

[وَأَنۡ أَعۡمَلَ صَـٰلِحً۬ا تَرۡضَٮٰهُ – and that I may do righteous good deeds that will please You]- Meaning: Grant me the guidance and ability to perform righteous deeds that are pleasing to You, due to the fact that those deeds are in conformity with Your command- sincerely for your sake, free from corruption and deficiencies. It is obligatory that one contemplates on this statement [صَـٰلِحً۬ا تَرۡضَٮٰهُ- righteous good deeds that will please You]- Meaning: This statement shows that a deed might be considered as one performed sincerely, but Allaah is not pleased because it is [either] not in conformity with His command or not performed sincerely for His Sake. Allaah is not pleased with deeds except that which is in conformity with His Sharee’ah and carried out sincerely for His sake.

[وَأَدۡخِلۡنِى بِرَحۡمَتِكَ فِى عِبَادِكَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِين- and admit me by Your Mercy among Your righteous slaves]- Meaning: When You [Allaah] take my life, put me together with the righteous amongst your slaves- the people of the highest company amongst your awliyaa. Include me amongst them, place my name with theirs and raise me in their group.

Leader and Seal of The Prophets [Muhammad (sallal laahu alayhi wasallam)]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

قُلِ ٱللَّهُمَّ فَاطِرَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ عَـٰلِمَ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ وَٱلشَّہَـٰدَةِ أَنتَ تَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَ عِبَادِكَ فِى مَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُونَ

Say (O Muhammad): “O Allah! Creator of the heavens and the earth! All-Knower of the Ghaib (unseen) and the seen. You will judge between your slaves about that wherein they used to differ.” [Surah Az-Zumar. Aayah 46]

Indeed, Allaah [The Exalted] commanded His Prophet Muhammad [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] to make this supplication after rebuking the Mushrikoon due to their love of Shirk and turning away from Tawheed. The Meaning of This Supplication necessitates: O Prophet! Invoke Allaah alone and ascribe no partner with Him – the creator of the heavens and the earth, who created them when there was nothing similar to them before that. [عَـٰلِمَ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ وَٱلشَّہَـٰدَ  – (Allaah), The All-Knower of the Ghaib (unseen) and the seen]- Meaning: Knower of both the secrets and what is made known. [أَنتَ تَحۡكُمُ بَيۡنَ عِبَادِكَ فِى مَا كَانُواْ فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُون  – You will judge between your slaves about that wherein they used to differ]- Meaning in their worldly affairs and you will judge between them on the day they are returned to the hereafter and raised from their graves.

In this supplication, there is a lesson for the servants that they turn to Allaah and supplicate to Him through His perfect Names, seek His aid and assistance whilst being in a state of humility and invoking Him to repel the plots of the enemy and grant you safety against their evil. It has been reported in Saheeh Muslim from Aaisha [radiyallaahu anhaa] who said that when the Messenger of Allaah [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] used to stand up in Salaah at night, he used to begin his Salaah [i.e. after the Takbeer and before recitation of Al-Faatiha] with [the supplication]:

O Allah, Lord of Jibraa’eel, Meekaa’eel and Israafeel; Creator of the heavens and the earth, Knower of the unseen and the seen; You judge between Your slaves concerning wherein they differ. Guide me to the truth in that which they differ by permission, for indeed You are the One Who guides whom You will to the Straight Path.[Saheeh Muslim 770] [An Excerpt from Fiqhul Ad’iyah Wal-Ad’kaar. Vol 4. Pages 420-421. Slightly paraphrased]

One of those places [in the Qur’aan] where the Prophet [sallal  laahu alayhi wasallam] was commanded to supplicate to Allaah as follows: [وَقُل رَّبِّ زِدۡنِى عِلۡمً۬ا  – And say: “My Lord! Increase me in knowledge]. [Surah Tahaa. Aayah 114]

Imaam At-Tabariy [rahimahullaah] said that this means, “Say O Muhammad! My Lord, increase me in knowledge in addition to what You have taught me”. So Allaah commanded the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] to ask Him for those benefits of knowledge which he does not know.

Imaam As-Sadi [rahimahullaah] said: Allaah command the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] to ask for an increase in knowledge, for indeed knowledge is something good and abundant good is something to be sought after; it is bestowed by Allaah and the path leading to it are: earnest striving, desiring for knowledge, asking Allaah, seeking Allaah’s Aid and Assistance, and declaring one’s need and poverty in Allaah’s presence in every instance. Indeed, the fact that the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] gave importance to this supplication is something well established in the [authentic] Sunnah. In a hadeeth reported by Tirmidhee and Ibn Maajah, Abu Hurairah [radiyallaahu  anhu] said: The Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] used to say: [للَّهُمَّ انْفَعْنِي بِمَا عَلَّمْتَنِي، وَعَلِّمْنِي مَا يَنْفَعُنِي، وَزِدْنِي عِلْمًا – O Allaah! Benefit me through that which You have taught me; teach me what benefits me and increase me in knowledge].

Sufyaan Bin Uyaynah [rahimahullaah] said, “The Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] did not cease in increasing in knowledge till the time death”.

Also the Salafus Saaleh [pious predecessors] constantly gave importance to this supplication due to that which Sa’eed Bin Mansoor and Abd Bin Humaid [rahimahumallaah] reported that Ibn Mas’ood [radiyallaahu anhu] used to supplicate, saying:

اللهم زِدْنِي إيمَانًا وَفِقْهًا وَيَقِينًا وَعِلْمًا

O Allaah! Increase me in Eemaan, understanding, certainty and knowledge.

And it has been reported from Imaam Maalik Bin Ana’s [rahimahullaah] that he said, “The situation of the son of Aadam is that he does not know everything; the situation of the son of Aadam is that he knows and then forgets; the situation of the son of Aadam is that he should ask Allaah for knowledge to add to the knowledge he already has”.

[20] A Brief Rebuttal Against Ed Husain – [Wants to Replace Polytheism of The Raafidah With Celebrating Cyrus – The Fire worshipper]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Why Is Ed Husain Rebutted

Ed Husain said:

First and foremost, why is Ed Husain using ambiguous language regarding replacement of governments?! There are a number of possibilities and only he can tell us how that should take place!

As for the Raafidah, then indeed their affair is well-known. Visit links

https://www.abukhadeejah.com/the-devils-deception-of-the-raafidah-shiah/

http://www.shia.bs/

As for Ed Husain’s misguided desire – that he wants to celebrate Cyrus, the Fire worshipper, then indeed one of the most hated people to Allaah is one who wants the traditions of Pre-Islamic era of ignorance to remain in Islaam! Ibn Abbaas [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] said that the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, “The most hated people to Allaah are three: a person who deviates from right conduct [i.e. an evil doer] in the Haram [sanctuaries of Makkah and Medeenah]; a person who seeks that the traditions of the Pre-lslamic Period of Ignorance should remain in Islam and a person who seeks to shed somebody’s blood without any right”.

Brief Commentary By Shaikh Zaid Bin Haadi [rahimahullaah]

These three deeds are from the major sins. The first major sin is Al-Ilhaad Fil Haram [i.e. deviating from right conduct in the sanctuaries of Makkah and Madeenah]. Ilhaad means to deviate from the truth [and enter into] falsehood, and supporting falsehood in order to obliterate the truth. Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] censured the Mulhideen Fil Haram [i.e. those who deviate from right conduction in the sanctuaries of Makkah and Madeenah], saying:

[وَمَن يُرِدۡ فِيهِ بِإِلۡحَادِۭ بِظُلۡمٍ۬ نُّذِقۡهُ مِنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ۬ – And whoever intends evil actions therein or to do wrong (i.e. practise polytheism and leave Islamic Monotheism), We shall make him taste a painful torment]. [Surah Al-Hajj. Aayah 25]

Allaah promised them [a severe punishment] due to the mere fact they intend evil actions therein [i.e. in the sanctuaries of Makkah and Madeenah], then how about perpetrating such deed! Indeed that would be a more severe sin, a more frightening state and a more severe punishment. This is a proof regarding the virtue of the sanctuaries of the Haram- that it is a sacred land chosen by Allaah and He made it a place where virtuous acts of worship are performed, [such as]  the Hajj which is one of the pillars of Islaam. Allaah gave this place virtues that cannot be enumerated, such as the increased reward attached to good deeds [performed in Makkah and Madeenah] and gave this land virtue over all other lands of the earth.

The second major sin is committed by the person who wants that the pre-Islamic traditions should remain in Islaam, as if he gives precedence to the pre-Islamic traditions – the evil customs that were followed during that period and the misguided deeds- over the Islamic practices, Eemaan, Ihsaan, their virtue and virtue of the Sunnah. He is guilty of committing a major sin, and this includes giving precedence to Bidah over [the authentic] Sunnah that guides to the straight path.

The third major sin is to seek to shed somebody’s blood without any right – meaning: seeking to shed the blood of a Muslim without right and doing so based on oppression and animosity. Shedding the blood of a Muslim is a great crime, just as the Prophet said, “The extinction of the whole world is less significant to Allaah than killing a Muslim [i.e. unlawfully]”. And he [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] stated regarding the rights of the Ka’bah, “How great you are and how great is your sanctity! But the sanctity of a believer is greater than yours in the sight of Allaah”.

It is not permissible to transgress against the Muslims and the believers – males and females- in the sanctuaries of [Makkah and Madeenah] or in other places due to the great sin and punishment which results from that. [End of quote] [Ref 1]

Don’t Insult My Wife, But You Are Free to Insult The Noblest Prophet! [Reminder to Ed Husain -(Wicked Deceiver and a Shaytaan Amongst Humankind)]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Most High] said:

إِنَّآ أَعۡطَيۡنَـٰكَ ٱلۡكَوۡثَرَ

فَصَلِّ لِرَبِّكَ وَٱنۡحَرۡ

إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ ٱلۡأَبۡتَرُ

Verily, We have granted you (O Muhammad) Al-Kauthar (a river in Paradise);

Therefore turn in prayer to your Lord and sacrifice (to Him only). For he who makes you angry (O Muhammad) will be cut off (from every good thing in this world and in the Hereafter).

[Surah Al-Kawthar]

[إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ ٱلۡأَبۡتَرُ – he who makes you angry (O Muhammad) will be cut off (from every good thing in this world and in the Hereafter)] – Meaning, he who hates, reviles and belittles you will be cut off from every good- cut off from deeds that would have helped him in the Hereafter and cut off from being remembered [with good]. As for Muhammad [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam], he is the perfect human being in truth, who attained the highest level of human perfection, his name exalted and he has numerous helpers and followers. [Ref 1]

Firstly, this is what will happen to a person who hates, belittles and slanders the noblest Messenger of Allaah Muhammad [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam].

Secondly, this same noble Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] taught us a golden rule regarding behaviour towards others, which the Militant French Secularists do not act upon when dealing with others. Yazeed Ibn Asad [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, “O Yazeed! Love for people what you love for yourself”. He [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] also said, “Do not treat people, except in the same way you would love to be treated by them”. [Saheeh Al-Jaami 180]

Indeed, this is what the noble Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] taught this Ummah and he was the first to act upon it. However, look at how the militant secularists behave – those who give their citizens the right to insult the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam]!

Read dispute between France and Brazil

Indeed , this is a clear example to show us how Kufr [disbelief] and evil desires clouds the judgement of a person. How is it possible that a person does not allow people to insult his wife but he supports those who insult the noblest Prophet of Allaah?!  However, to make matters worse, Ed Husain – the wicked deceiver and a shaytaan amongst humankind, and may Allaah guide him or afflict his tongue with a deadly disease – defends the militant secularists, saying:

Indeed, the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] never insulted anyone and he commanded us not to insult anyone – commanded us to love for others what we love for ourselves and treat others in the manner we would love to be treated. We are not in need of being taught anything by these people, rather we suffice with the path of the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam].

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said: Muhammad’s [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] Ummah is not in need of anyone after him; rather the only need they have is someone to convey what he came with. Muhammad’s [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] message is comprehensive, universal and preserved. This universality, comprehensiveness and preservation is not limited to [any time and place], rather it is comprehensive for those to whom Muhammad [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] was sent [i.e. the whole world] and likewise with regards to everything that is needed in the fundamental and subsidiary issues of the religion.

Muhammad’s [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] message is sufficient, all embracing and universal- nothing else is needed besides it. It has not isolated any affair of truth needed by his Ummah in their sciences and deeds. The Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] did not leave this world until he acquainted his Ummah with everything. He even taught them the etiquettes of using the toilet; the etiquettes of sexual relations; the etiquettes of sleep and after waking up; the etiquettes of eating, drinking and travel.

He acquainted them with the etiquettes of speech and silence; the etiquettes of keeping company with the people and seclusion. He acquainted them with the affairs of illness, good health, poverty and wealth. He acquainted them with all the affairs of life and death. He described Allaah’s throne, the angels, the jinn, the hell fire and the day of judgement in such a manner as if one has seen them with the naked eye. He [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] informed them about their Lord and His Perfect Names and Attributes, and that Allaah alone is their true object of worship.

He acquainted them with the Prophets of old and their nations – the events that took place between them and their nations – in such a manner as if one was present at that time. He acquainted them with all the means to good and the paths of evil- in general and in detail- which no other prophet informed his nation. He acquainted them with death and what will take place in the grave – either bliss or punishment. He acquainted them with the evidences and proofs of Tawheed [i.e. the oneness of Allaah in His Lordship, Names and Attributes, and that Allaah alone has the right to be worshipped].

He acquainted them with Prophet hood and the affairs of the Afterlife, and he refuted all the sects of disbelief and misguidance. He acquainted them with war strategies- how to confront the enemy, the way to achieve victory and conquests. If only they knew and understood these affairs in the correct manner [i.e. the manner it should be understood], they would not be overcome by their enemy. He acquainted them with the plots of Iblees and the ways through which he approaches them, and the ways to repel those plots and plans. He acquainted them with the soul- its characteristics and faults- in such a manner that they are not in need of anyone else to tell them about it. He taught them how to live their daily lives and had they acknowledged and acted upon this; their worldly affairs would be firmly established. He brought them all the means of success in this life and the next, and they do not need anyone besides him. So how can it be said that the path of Muhammad [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] is in need of something else outside of it. The reason for such a claim is due to the weak and little understanding of a person. Allaah [The Most High] said:

أَوَلَمْ يَكْفِهِمْ أَنَّا أَنزَلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ يُتْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِمْ ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَرَحْمَةً وَذِكْرَىٰ لِقَوْمٍ يُؤْمِنُونَ

Is it not sufficient for them that We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur’an) which is recited to them? Verily, herein is mercy and a reminder (or an admonition) for a people who believe. [29:51]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

وَنَزَّلْنَا عَلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ تِبْيَانًا لِّكُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةً وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُسْلِمِينَ

And We have sent down to you the Book (the Qur’an) as an exposition of everything, a guidance, a mercy, and glad tidings for those who have submitted themselves (to Allah as Muslims). [16:89]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاءَتْكُم مَّوْعِظَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَشِفَاءٌ لِّمَا فِي الصُّدُورِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ

O mankind! There has come to you a good advice from your Lord [i.e. the Qur’an, ordering all that is good and forbidding all that is evil], and a healing for that [disease of ignorance, doubt, hypocrisy and differences, etc.] in your breasts, – a guidance and a mercy [explaining lawful and unlawful things, etc.] for the believers. [10:57] [Ref 2]

One of The Noblest Aspects of Knowledge Is to Pay Attention to The Characteristics of The Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] – By Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al-Badr [hafidhahullaah]

Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al-Badr [hafidhahullaah] said: Indeed, one of the greatest bestowals on a believing slave of Allaah – which leads to guidance and righteous deeds -is that Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] facilitates for him the path to seeking knowledge, grants him an ardent zeal and eagerness for knowledge. Seeking knowledge is something one never feels that he has acquired enough, rather whenever a path to knowledge is made available, he pursues it.

Allaah protects the student of knowledge, guides and aids him, therefore it is obligated on a student of knowledge to exalt the affair of turning to Allaah [in submission, obedience etc] and that what he learns should be a proof for him and not against him; and that Allaah increases him in knowledge, facilitates him with the path to good and guidance. “Whoever follows a path in search of knowledge Allaah will make easy for a him a path to paradise”.

One of the noblest aspects of knowledge – an affair that occupies a mighty station- is to pay close attention to the characteristics of the Prophet, his specific qualities and deeds by way of which Allaah distinguished him from everyone amongst mankind, his manners, etiquettes and biography. That is because he is the greatest Imaam [leader] and the perfect example. Indeed, Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] commanded us to follow his example, made him an Imaam [leader] and example for us. Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] said:

لَّقَدۡ كَانَ لَكُمۡ فِى رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ أُسۡوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ۬ لِّمَن كَانَ يَرۡجُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلۡيَوۡمَ ٱلۡأَخِرَ وَذَكَرَ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرً۬ا

Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much. [Surah Al-Ahzaab. Aayah 21]

This noble Aayah – as the people of knowledge have stated – is a basis to established the fact that the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] is to be emulated; [but] emulating him cannot be actualized except by way of acquainting oneself with his characteristics, his qualities in general, his specific qualities and deeds by way of which Allaah distinguished him from everyone amongst humankind, his manners and etiquettes. The one who is unacquainted with the Prophet’s [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] characteristics and manners will not be able to emulate him, and that is why the scholars [of Islaam] have written beneficial books regarding his characteristics and qualities.

The manners and qualities of the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] are a means of inviting [mankind] to this mighty religion [of Islaam]. Indeed, many people- during his era and thereafter – have been guided through their acquaintance with his manners and qualities. One used to come to him whilst harbouring the severest hatred towards him,  but after meeting him and [observing] his great [unmatched noble] etiquettes, noble manners, lofty dealings and benevolence, the person would depart whilst loving him more than everyone else on the face of the earth. Therefore, his characteristics are a means to calling to this religion- a weapon for the one inviting the people in the path of Allaah.

Speaking about his qualities, emulating him and calling others to emulate him strengthens the religion of Islaam, because he was the one whom Allaah appointed to convey and explain the religion to humankind. Allaah chose him and he is the best of all the slaves of Allaah- the greatest in his servitude to Allaah. Calling the people to emulate his qualities is a means to calling people to believe in the religion ordained by Allaah and a means to strengthening the belief of the one who has already believed in his Messenger-ship. This is why turning away from his Seerah has been the cause of people’s inclination towards the path of losers amongst men and women [i.e. those upon a path other than the path of Allaah]. As for the biographies of the Imaams of Guidance- the greatest of them being the Messenger, they are a means of rectifying the person and a means to safety from corruption and evil.  On the other hand, the biography of the losers is a path that will lead to evil, ruin and corruption. Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] said:

Indeed My Verses used to be recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels [denying them, and with hatred to listen to them]. In pride [they Quraish pagans and polytheists of Makkah used to feel proud that they are the dwellers of Makkah sanctuary Haram], talking evil about it [the Qur’an] by night. Have they not pondered over the Word [of Allaah, i.e. what is sent down to the Prophet], or has there come to them what had not come to their fathers of old? Or is it that they did not recognize their Messenger [Muhammad] so they deny him? [i.e. this is a rebuke against them because all of them – young and old – knew his lineage, truthfulness and trustworthiness, yet they turned away from his message]. [Surah Al-Muminoon. Aayaat 66-69]

This shows that contemplating on the Qur’aan and acquainting oneself with the Messenger’s guidance and biography is a path leading to safety, and a safeguard against turning back on one’s heels [i.e. a safeguard against turning away from the guidance he was sent with]. On the other hand, abandoning the Seerah of the Prophet and inclining towards the Seerah of the losers [i.e. those men and women upon other than the guidance of the Messenger] will lead to ruin. The people became corrupted – in this era – after being put to trial through movies and films; but had they turned to the biographies of the Prophets and the noble companions of the Prophet Muhammad, they would have found guidance and a path leading to steadfastness. [3]

Reading The Biography of The Messenger Increases The Believer In Certainty – By Shaikh Saaleh Aala Ash-Shaikh [hafidhahullaah]

Shaikh Saaleh Aala Ash-Shaikh [hafidhahullaah] said:

Studying the prophet’s biography (sallallāhu alaihi wa salam) and reading it, makes the certainty of the believer to become stronger, makes his steadfastness and perseverance upon the religion of Allah stronger, makes the believer’s heart to be honourable due to Islam, ennobled by [his adherence to sound] Islamic monotheism, ennobled due to what his heart contains of knowledge and awareness of Allah, ennobled due to his belief in Muhammad (sallallāhu alaihi wa salam) and ennobled by that which Allāh sent down upon his Messengers. Allaah said: [وَلِلَّهِ الْعِزَّةُ وَلِرَسُولِهِ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ – But honour, power and glory belong to Allah, His Messenger (Muhammad sallallāhu alaihi wa salam), and to the believers]. [Al-Munāfiqūn 8] These are from the many benefits that every believer benefit from by studying the biography of The Chosen One (المصطفى) (sallallāhu alaihi wa salam). [4]

The Sound Religion Is What Will Rectify The Souls And Not The Modern Sciences- By Imaam As-Sadi [rahimahullaah]

Imaam Sadi [rahmahullaah] said:

Indeed, it is impossible to rectify the souls and acquire virtue solely through the worldly sciences. Experience and clearly witnessed circumstances are the greatest proofs regarding this affair, because despite its advancement and vastness it has been unable to nurture and rectify the souls [i.e. upon excellent traits, manners, dealings, characteristics, sound creed etc] which are the determinants of [sound] rectification and success. What the Religion of Islaam propagates is that which is entrusted with this rectification; it is what will guide the thoughts towards the truthful and authentic sources of knowledge, guide the actions of the people towards good and prevent them from evil. Islam is The Rectifier of the Creeds and Manners- the thing that cultivates the thoughts [upon righteousness], urges towards virtuousness and prevents from depravity.

The essence of that which the religion calls to – regarding belief in the Unseen, which includes belief in Allaah and that which He possesses of Names, Attributes and Actions of perfection; belief in Angels, belief in recompense for one’s good and bad deeds in this life and the next, which cannot be known except through the Messengers, is what acquaints a person with the fact that rectification – in reality – is not possible through other than sound belief and the religion of Islaam.

Therefore, even if the worldly sciences rectify [some] affairs based upon that which [some] people know in detail, it will still not be equal [in perfection, excellence etc] to the knowledge of the Messengers [in the least]. It will neither reach that which is reached through the knowledge of the Messengers nor can it influence the souls in the manner in which the knowledge of the Messengers has done; for indeed the souls do not voluntarily submit except through belief in Allaah, belief in His Angels, belief in His Books, belief in His Messengers and belief in the hereafter. And without this, voluntary submission is impossible, as is well known regarding human nature. [Ref 5]

Progress In The Worldly Affairs Is Sought After, But We Must Return to Our Deen- By Saudi King Abdul Azeez [rahimahullaah]

Saudi King Abdul Azeez [rahimahullaah] said: Indeed, the progress and advancement of the Muslims is among those affairs we [pursue]–we call to it by the will of Allaah. [However] there cannot be advancement for the Muslims without a return to their religion, adherence to their sound creed and holding onto the Rope of Allaah [i.e. the Qur’aan and the Sunnah]. The path towards this is clear and facilitated for the one who wants to follow it, and that is to single out Allaah in worship – to be free from shirk and bidah- and act on that which the religion has commanded us, for indeed there is no benefit in speech if not [accompanied] by action. [Ref 6]

The Evil Consequences That Will Accompany Worldly Knowledge When Devoid of Sound Religion- By Imaam As-Sadi [rahimahullaah]

Imaam As-Sadi [rahimahullaah] said: Industrialization And Modern Inventions: Everyone has participated in it – the righteous, the wicked, the believer and the disbeliever. As for religion and [virtuous] manners, then indeed -in this era-, it has greatly declined. So, when this industrial advancement is devoid of Deen and Eemaan, it became a great harm from two angles:

Firstly: It beguiled many people, who – due of their ignorance – think that worldly advancement is proof to show that its people are more worthy of achieving every good than others. They are clearly misguided, for indeed a person might be from the most skillful in affairs related to the material world, whilst he is one of the most ignorant people in affairs related to the deen, virtuous manners and the [other] beneficial affairs in this life and the next.

Secondly: When these inventions are devoid of Deen, its mercy and wisdom, it becomes a great disaster for humankind due to the wars that resulted from them, killing, destruction and other affairs related to it. Its regulators [or overseers] and scholars are unable to laydown – for humankind -a stable, just and good life, rather they have not ceased moving from one misrable state to another. This is inevitable and the continuous state of affairs shows that [to be the case]. Therefore all good is found in the sound religion and all evil is found in rejecting and willfully denying [Allaah, His Messengers, His Laws, Guidance, Commands, Prohibitions etc] [Ref 7]

And Allaah knows best

[19] Brief Rebuttal Against Ed Husain: [13 Brief Comments On Ed Husain’s Ambiguous Statements Regarding Freedom of Speech, Extremism, Salafism, Caliphate And Security]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Why Is Ed Husain Rebutted

The Prophet [alayhis salaatu wassalaam] said:

‘’The best of the people are those living in my generation, then those who will follow the latter and then those who come after them. Then there will come after them people who will be treacherous and will not be trustworthy, they will bear witness without being asked to do so, and they will vow, but will never fulfil their vows, and fatness will appear among them’’.

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [rahimahullaah] said:

‘’They give false testimony, act treacherously and deceitfully. They behave in a very sinful manner and follow evil desires, except those whom Allaah safeguards amongst the Taa’ifatul Mansoorah [i.e. the aided group of Muslims upon the straight path] – those whom Allaah’s Messenger [alayhis salaatu wassalaam] praised. Therefore, it is obligated on us to acquire knowledge for the sake of Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] and act upon it. Ignorance is a deadly disease and knowledge is a weapon that will destroy you if you do not act upon it, and Allaah’s refuge is sought. [Ref A]

Indeed, there is no doubt that Ed Husain and his Ilk have fallen into a dangerous pit of destructive negligence and ambiguity whilst seeking to confront the destructive methodology of the Khaaerijites (terrorists). By Allaah, it is incumbent upon Ed Husain to refrain from speaking about the Deen of Allaah, because he is a deviant and a caller to deviation – one who has clearly opposed the Manhaj of the Sahaabah, confounds truth with false and a promoter of ideas that are tantamount to kufr.

In an article written for the Guardian, he stated:

Quote Number 1: “The killing of journalists in Paris on Wednesday was not only an attack on France but also an assault on Islam and the very freedoms that allow 30 million Muslims to prosper in the west”.

Comment: Yes, indeed the killing of anyone by way of vigilantism is condemned in the pure religion of Islaam, but as for the freedoms Ed Husain seeks to portray as that which has allow 30million Muslims to proper, then indeed such freedom has to be measured based on the Qur’aan and the authentic Sunnah, and this is why regardless the freedom given to upright Muslims, they make good use of it by adhering to the commands of Allaah and the Messenger to the best of their ability. They do not utilise such freedom to promote ideas and views that are tantamount to Kufr, Shirk and deviation from the path of the Sahaahab, because this is what Ed Husain has fallen into.

Quote Number 2: Ed Husain said: “Free speech is not a western concept: it is a universal craving of the human soul. The gunmen ran away shouting that they were “avenging the prophet Muhammad”. How dare they? We cannot let the murderers define Islam”.

Comment: Yes, indeed Mr Husain is right in saying that free speech is a craving of the human soul, but our Lord [The Most High] reminded us of the dangers and evil consequences of the unrestrained soul and tongue. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And indeed We have created man, and We know what his ownself whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge). (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). [Surah Qaaf. Aayaat 16-18]

The Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said:

“When the son of Adam wakes up in the morning, all the limbs humble themselves before the tongue and say: ”Fear Allaah for our sake, (for) we are with you; if you are upright, we will be upright; and if you are crooked, we will become crooked.” [a]

The Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) also said: ”Whoever can guarantee (the chastity of) what is between his two jaw bones and what is between his two legs (i.e. his mouth, his tongue and his private parts), I guarantee Paradise for him.” [b]

Imaam Abdul-Azeez Bin Baaz (rahimahullaah) said: This requires two affairs; [a] A lot of remembrance (of Allaah); [b] keeping away from gatherings of heedlessness and doubts, and (keeping away from) that which will result in fornication and nonsense speech. [c]

Al-Hasan Bin Saaleh (rahimahullaah) said:

“I scrutinized Wara (apprehensive fear) thoroughly and did it find it more lacking in anything than the tongue.” [d]

Imaam Fudayl Ibn Iyaad (rahimahullaah) said:

“Neither hajj nor taking up positions during battle, nor Jihaad are more difficult than restraining the tongue.” [5]

Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisee (rahimahullaah) said:

Know that whoever is acquainted with the worth of his era and that it is his main capital, he will not seek an understanding except in what is beneficial. This acquaintance obligates restraining one’s tongue from speaking about that which does not concern him, for indeed the one who abandons the remembrance of Allaah (The Most High) and busies himself with what does not concern him, then he is like one who is able to get hold of a gem but exchanges it for a clod of earth.  This is a loss of one’s lifespan. [6]

Therefore, the upright Muslim takes himself to account in order that the desire to speak – just because he has been given the freedom – does not lead him to loss in the Aakhirah

Quote Number 3: Ed Husain’s statement said, “The gunmen ran away shouting that they were “avenging the prophet Muhammad”. How dare they? We cannot let the murderers define Islam”.

Comment: Yes, indeed the gunmen do not represent Islaam because it is well-known to the people of Sunnah that they are upon a wicked and twisted methodology – ISIS and their ilk; but also Islaam is free from the deviations of Ed Husain and a Muslim cannot allow his ideas to define Islaam, because he utters disbelief – a promoter of Darwin’s theory of evolution and promoter of the heretical philosophers (Ibn Sina, Al-Farabi, Al-Jaahiz etc). [See here: https://salaficentre.com/2020/10/01/on-philosophy-renaissance-and-saudi-arabia-section-1-eleven-short-responses-to-ed-husains-a-caller-to-one-of-the-paths-of-iblees-at-quilliam-foundation-satanic-insinuat/

Quote Number 4: Ed Husain said, “In seventh-century Mecca, it was the prophet Muhammad who fought for free speech to proclaim one God as the creator of life and worthy of worship. The city’s pagans were his violent persecutors. Today Muslims live freely in every European country because of the very freedoms that the terrorists struck at. Without the freedom to blaspheme and believe, Muslims would be seen as heretics and would be unable to flourish as faith communities in the west. The pogroms and wars of religion in Europe’s history bear testament to European life without freedom”.

Comment: By Allaah Ed Husain has clearly confounded truth with falsehood! The Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] cannot be attributed to this lie. He was not fighting for freedom of speech, rather he was fulfilling the command that was given to all the Messengers [alayhimus salaam] that they call to Tawheed, enjoin good and forbid evil. Allaah [The Exalted] stated:

And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): “Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities, etc. i.e. do not worship Taghut besides Allah).” Then of them were some whom Allah guided and of them were some upon whom the straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what was the end of those who denied (the truth). [Surah An-Nahl. Aayah 36]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلۡمُدَّثِّرُ

قُمۡ فَأَنذِرۡ

وَرَبَّكَ فَكَبِّرۡ

وَثِيَابَكَ فَطَهِّرۡ

وَٱلرُّجۡزَ فَٱهۡجُرۡ

وَلَا تَمۡنُن تَسۡتَكۡثِرُ

وَلِرَبِّكَ فَٱصۡبِرۡ

O you (Muhammad) enveloped (in garments)! Arise and warn! And your Lord (Allah) magnify! And your garments purify! And keep away from Ar-Rujz (the idols)! And give not a thing in order to have more (or consider not your deeds of Allah’s obedience as a favour to Allah). And be patient for the sake of your Lord (i.e. perform your duty to Allah)! [Surah Al-Muddath-thir. Aayaat 1-7]

This was a commanded to proclaim truth – a call to humankind that they return to their sound natural disposition by singling out Allaah in worship and abandon all false deities. This is purpose behind the creation of Jinn and humankind as Allaah [The Exalted] stated:

وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ

And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone). [Surah Adh-Dhaariyaat. Aayah 56]

This was no struggle for freedom of speech, rather the noble Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] was commanding good and forbidding evil – commanding humankind to worship Allaah alone, abandon polytheism and obey Allaah. The Shahaadah itself teaches us the foundation of the Messenger’s call, as Shaikh Abdullah al-Bukhaari [hafidhahullaah] said:

“And from which the people of knowledge have affirmed is that this religion is established on two affairs: Clarification of the truth and refuting falsehood and its people.  The affirmation of this (affair) becomes manifest to the one who contemplates on the statement of Tawheed [لا إله إلا الله] with clarification and by way of explanation. The saying of the slave (i.e. the Muslim)  لا إله is a refutation against falsehood and its people-those who deify others besides Allaah. And the statement   إلا الله is an affirmation of truth and a clarification of it. And it (means) that Allaah alone has the right to be worshipped and He has no partner. Likewise, the statement محمد رسول الله is an affirmation of the Messengership of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) and a refutation against the one who gives him a status above that and thus deifies him; or lowers the rank of his Prophethood and Messengership. [Source:المقالات الشرعيّة page 14-15] [End of quote]

This what the affair is and not Ed Husain’s absurd claim that the Messenger [sallal laahu-alayhi wasallam] was the first to fight for free speech. Ed Husain is absolutely certain that no upright Muslim will accept this nonsense, but he is desperately seeking for anything through which he continues to open the unrestricted door to freedom speech that has led him to utter statements of Kufr. He retweets statements of Kufr regarding Darwin’s theory of evolution and even supports the vile militant secularists who attack the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam]. We seek refuge with Allaah against the devils amongst mankind and Jinn Aameen. Subhaanallaah! He fraudulently uses the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] as his authority for freedom of speech and defends the people who use  that freedom of speech to abuse the Prophet – opens a door to kufr and defends the people who commit that kufr.

As for the manner in which one deals with a person who commits blasphemy, then this is one of the areas exploited by the Khaarijites (terrorists)- those who take the law into their own hands and murder their fellow citizens. This is another satanic path – another extreme and it is not sanctioned by the Sharee’ah of Allaah. Regardless what a Muslim or non-Muslim says or does- either in a Muslim or non-Muslim land, we return to the law of the land and never take the law into our own hands. See here: The Salafi Response To The Terrorist Attacks In Paris, France: “Were they forbidding an evil?”  [https://www.abukhadeejah.com/the-salafi-response-to-the-terrorist-attacks-in-paris-france-were-they-forbidding-an-evil/] [https://www.salafisounds.com/bbc-interview-abu-khadeejah-regarding-terrorist-attacks-in-paris-salafism-women-in-islam/]

Quote Number 5: Ed Husain said: “Islam and Muslims are secure in the west because of freedom of speech, conscience, press and religion. To attack those freedoms is to attack Islam’s existence. The dangerous ignorance of the extremists is not limited to their failure to understand the west. They do not know the prophet for whom they claim to kill”.

Comment: This is an exaggeration; rather it is impossible – in the West and even in some Muslim countries – to establish the Sunnah of the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] in the manner it was established in every aspect of the religion. Yes indeed, we are allowed to proclaim our religion and practice, but this does not mean that we are free to practice our religion in the manner it was practiced by the Sahaabah, otherwise the contemporary European nations would have would resembled Medieval Spain. However, this does not mean that we violate the law or isolate ourselves from the rest of society; rather we keep good relations with our fellow citizens and strive to hold onto our Islaam -distanced ourselves from the barbaric methodology of the Khaarijites (terrorists), the disbelief advocated by the militant secularists, heretical philosophers and those callers to corruption who propagate Ed Husain’s erroneous ideas and religious innovations. Indeed, just as the terrorists do not know the Prophet they are seeking to defend through their satanic acts, then likewise Ed Husain does not know the Prophet he is seeking to defend through his philosophy and that call to the freedom of expression advocated by the Militant Secularists.. As for Ahlus Sunnah, they are upon the balance path. Read articles by Shaikh Abdul Waahid [hafidhahullaah] below.

Quote Number 6: Ed Husain said, “Unable to observe Islam freely in Mecca, the prophet migrated to Medina. There his first act was to build a mosque, the most sacred structure for a believer. An Arab man entered the mosque and urinated in front of the prophet with no care for the sanctity of the mosque. How did the prophet respond to this deepest of insults to Islam and himself? He cleaned the mosque, stopped Muslims from expelling the man and explained the inviolability of a place of worship”.

Comment: Yes indeed the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] migrated to Makkah because Allaah commanded him to do so when the evil Mushrikoon plotted to kill him. As for the man who urinated in the Masjid, then indeed this is well known in the books of Fiqh. The hadeeth teaches us gentleness and wisdom when enjoining good and forbidding evil, especially when dealing with people who are ill-informed. However, this has nothing to do with your struggle for freedom of speech which is based on opening a door to kufr and then defending the militant secularists. Read more here about man who urinated in the masjid: https://www.troid.org/media/pdf/hadeethofthebedouin.pdf

Quote Number 7: Ed Husain said, “There are many such lessons of compassion, kindness and care in the life of the prophet that are airbrushed by today’s fanatics. The bigotry of the Salafi jihadis can only be challenged and eventually uprooted by educating them on the prophet of Islam described in the Qur’an “as a mercy to the worlds”. Many in the world today would be rightly asking “where is this mercy?” For what we see is beheadings, wars and suicide bombings in the name of religion. Sadly, we will continue to witness such evil unless we address the motivations of the Salafi jihadist killers. They kill in the name of religion; we cannot respond by citing the virtues of Darwin, secularism and materialism. The only language these radicals understand is that of religion. It is by mustering the best of religion that we defeat the worst of It”.

Comment: Firstly, yes indeed, we are well aware of the lessons of compassion, kindness and care in the life of the noble Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam], because indeed Allaah [The Exalted] stated about him: [ وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ۬-And verily, you (O Muhammad) are on an exalted standard of character]. [Surah Al-Qalam. Aayah 4]

There is no doubt that the fanatics do no act upon the manners of the Messenger due to their religious innovations and fanatism, just as Ed Husain’s negligence and philosophy leads him  to oppose the excellent manners of the Messenger by advocating the type of freedom of speech that leads to the Kufr of the Militant Secularists. The fanatics call to extremism and Ed Husain calls to extreme negligence. Listen here by Shaikh Abu Hakeem [hafidhahullaah]: https://www.salafisounds.com/allaah-warns-against-extremism-and-negligence-by-abu-hakeem/

Secondly as for attaching the word Jihadis to the word Salafi, then this shows Ed Husain’s repugnant ignorance in this subject matter.  Shaikh. Dr Abu Iyaadh [hafidhahullaah] said: “Welcome to Salafis.Com! There is much talk regarding Salafis and Salafiyyah in books, journals, the press and various other media. The “Salafi Way” is not something new, invented or innovated. By definition, it is the pure Islaam which the Companions of Allaah’s Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) held onto. When the sects foretold by the Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) appeared, those who took knowledge from the Companions began to verbally express the obligation of holding onto the way of (السلف الصالح), “The Righteous Predecessors.” From such statements is the saying of Imaam al-Zuhree (d. 124H), “Adhere to the tracks of the Salaf, even if the people reject you. And beware of the opinions of men, even if they beautify it for you with speech.” Hence, Salafiyyah is not a later innovation. Salafis are the target of sectarian bias and bigotry for many factions, from them the Raafidah, Soofiyyah, Kharijites and Takfiris, the blind-followers of the madhaahib, Secularists, Modernists and many others. As such there is a lot of propaganda in the field which is unfortunately entered into what is claimed to be “objective research”. To make matters more confusing is the presence of numerous orientations falsely ascribing to Salafiyyah despite their deviations from it in their foundations and methodologies. Many of the takfiri, Khariji groups make this false ascription. This adds another layer of confusion to anyone wanting to research and understand Salafiyyah, and leads to Salafis being wrongly attributed with the iniquities of the Takfiris and Kharijites. In light of all of these realities, this website aims to provide relevant information and critical evaluation and analysis of the various views and opinions that are being scattered in books, journals, blogs, websites, audios and videos in relation to “Salafis” and “Salafiyyah”. http://www.salafis.com/ [End of quote]

Thirdly, just as the fanatics need education and deradicalization, likewise Ed Husain needs education in Aqeedah and Manhaj. Ed needs sound Aqeedah so that he refrains from promoting Darwins’ kufr, refrains from promoting the heretical philosophers (Ibn Sina, Al-Faribi etc) and refrains from defending the French militant secularists-those who utilise freedom of expression to attack the noblest Prophet of Allaah. Read here again regarding Ed Husain’s misguidance: https://salaficentre.com/2020/10/16/16-brief-rebuttal-against-ed-husain-a-shaytaan-ex-tahreeri-at-quilliam-foundation-recommends-article-that-promotes-deviant-al-jaahiz-al-mubtadi-a-proponent-of-the-satanic-idea-an/   https://salaficentre.com/2020/10/26/18-shaytaan-ed-husain-adds-to-his-filth-and-misguidance-and-openly-defends-the-french-militant-secularists-may-allaah-guide-him-or-break-his-back/

Quote Number 8: Ed Husain said, “The murders in Paris are not an isolated incident but part of a global trend of young Muslims disenchanted with the modern world, finding consolation in the theology and ideology of literalist sharia, killing, vengeance, punishment, domination and imposing their worldview as state law. Al-Qaida, Isis, Somalia’s al-Shabaab and others are only manifestations of this mindset”.

Comment: Modernity and the modern world is a problem for both Ed Husain and these young Muslims, because they find themselves in opposite directions – the extremism of the Khaaarijites and the negligence of the heretical philosophers. As for the people of Sunnah, they are upon the balanced path. Just as the terrorists and extremists – Al-Qaida, Isis, Somalia’s al-Shabaab, Jabhat An-Nusra, Ed Husain’s former group known as Hizb at-tahreer – follow ambiguities to justify their extremism, likewise Ed Husain utilises ambiguities to promote a corrupt concept of freedom of speech and rationalism in Islaam. Indeed, this is a path of deviation warned against by Allaah and the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] Allaah (The Most High) said:

It is He (Allaah) Who has sent down to you (Muhammad) the book. In it are Aayaat that are entirely clear, they are the foundations of the Book; and others not entirely clear. So as for those in whose hearts there is a deviation (from the truth) they follow that which is not entirely clear thereof, seeking (polytheism and trials)….[3:7] Aaisha (radiyallaahu anhaa) said: The messenger ( sallal.laahu.alayhi wasallam ) recited this ayah and said: “if you see those who follow thereof that is not entirely clear then they are those whom Allaah has named ( as having deviation from the truth). So beware of them.” [Saheeh Al-Bukhari. Book of commentary]

When you look at the shortest explanation of this ayah by the scholars of Tafseer, you find the likes of Imaam Saa’di (rahimahullah) saying that all the Aayaat of the Great Qur’aan are absolutely clear, as Allaah (The Most High) said:

[الر ۚ كِتَابٌ أُحْكِمَتْ آيَاتُهُ ثُمَّ فُصِّلَتْ مِنْ لَدُنْ حَكِيمٍ خَبِيرٍ- A Book whereof are perfect aayaat (in every sphere of knowledge and then explained in detail from One (Allaah), Who is All-Wise, Well-Acquainted (with all things)][Hud. Ayah:1]

The Qur’aan is gathered upon absolute perfection, precision (in its commandments, prohibitions, laws, creed etc), justice and goodness, as Allaah also stated:

[ۚوَمَنْ أَحْسَنُ مِنَ اللَّهِ حُكْمًا لِقَوْمٍ يُوقِنُونَ – And who is better in judgement than Allaah for a people who have firm faith” [Maa-idah: Ayah:50 ]

All the sections of the Qur’aan resemble each other in beauty and eloquence, and affirms the truthfulness of each other.

As for what is mentioned in this ayah concerning Ihkaam (i.e. the Aayaat of the Qur’aan being perfect, clear and precise in meaning) and Tashaabu (i.e. that some Aayaat in certain places in the Qur’aan require explanation and elaboration through other aayaat), then firstly: ‘Ihkaam’ means that there are those Aaayaat that are clear in what they indicate without any difficulty in understanding them -these Aayaat are the foundations of the Qur’aan to which one returns every affair he finds unclear, and the vast majority of the Qur’aan is comprised of these Aayaat. Secondly: ‘Tashaabuh’ means that there are other Aayaat whose precise intended meaning are either not immediately clear to some people or are misunderstood because they indicate a general unrestricted meaning.  Therefore, the vast majority of the Aayaat are clear and manifest to everyone and they are the majority of what is referred back to, and there are Aayaat that are difficult for some people to understand, so it is obligatory to refer those Aayaat to other Aayaat that explains their precise intended meanings. This is the path the Qur’aan takes in confirming the truthfulness of its Aayaat and there are no contradictions or opposition in this.

However, the people are divided into two groups in this affair, and the first group as Allaah stated are those in whose hearts there is deviation (from the truth)- those who turn away from uprightness and harbour corrupt intentions. Their intention is misguidance and their hearts are deviated from the path of guidance. These people only cling to those Aayaat that require elaboration and explanation through other Aayaat and they abandon those Aayaat that must be referred back to in order to explain them. And the reason they do this is to seek trials and tribulations for those whom they call to their deviated paths.

Therefore, it is obligated on a Muslim that he does not rush towards the one who quotes Aayaat and Ahaadeeth to support his views until he is certain that such a person is from the well-known people of knowledge, those worthy of being referred back to. And if not, he will fall into the hands of those people whom Allaah has censured in this Ayah-those who solely cling to the Aayaat that require explanation and elaboration in order to deceive the people, whilst desiring trials, tribulations and false interpretations by way of that. So you see him quoting Aayaat and Ahaadeeth to support his claims, but when such Aayaat and Ahaadeeth are examined you find that he only seeks to establish his claims solely by way of those that require elaboration, but he does not refer them back to the ones that give that explanation and elaboration.

[Wasaa-il Ahlil Baatil Fee Taqreeri Baatilihim of page:20]

As for Ed Husain’s statement regarding literalism, then indeed this requires further clarification. Read article by Shaikh Abdul Waahid Abu Khadeejah [hafidhahullaah]: https://www.abukhadeejah.com/ibn-uthaimeen-the-important-principles-in-the-names-and-attributes-of-allaah-part-1-of-4/

Quote Number 9: Ed Husain said, “There is a raging battle of ideas within Islam across the world today. The extremism, terrorism and sectarian warfare is an overspill of this intra-faith theological conflict. The vast majority of the victims of terrorists are Muslims because the intolerance of the zealot targets fellow Muslims first. In Pakistan alone, more than 40,000 Muslims have lost their lives to terrorism since 2001. The violence reaches the west only occasionally”.

Comment: This raging battle mentioned by Ed Husain is nothing else but the deviation which he is part of. The Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] informed of us the emergence of the deviant sects, and just as the khaarijites (terrorists) are one of them, likewise Ed Husain is still roaming about blindly – from Hizb at-Taheer to the philosophers, rather he has even added Darwin’s Kufr theory of evolution to his misguidance. The Messenger [salal laahu alayhi wasallam] said: “My Ummah will divide into seventy-three sects, all of them will be in the Fire except for one, and that is the Jamāʿah.” It was said, “And who are they, O Allāh’s Messenger?” He responded, “That which I and my Companions are upon today.” [Red full article here by Shaikh Abu Khadeejah: https://www.abukhadeejah.com/salafis-callers-to-unity-forbid-splitting-ahlul-bidah-hizbies-astray-hyde-park-social-media/

Quote Number 10: Ed Husain said, “When the attacks of 9/11 shook the United States, American Muslims rallied around their government, mosques flew the stars and stripes, and the American president visited a mosque from which to say Islam and Muslims stood beside America. In Britain the government, media and Muslim citizens used the language of religion to delegitimise violence. France has excellent relations with Muslim nations including Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia – and millions of French Muslims who could help marshal the language of religion to isolate and defeat Salafi extremists by countering their arguments”.

Comment: Yes indeed, every sane person condemned 9/11, and the Salafiyyoon are foremost in condemning it without falling into Ed Husain’s negligence and misguidance. As for Ed Husain’s statement “Isolate and defeat Salafi extremists by countering their arguments”, we have already commented on something similar to it on quote number 7, therefore listen to this lecture: https://www.salafisounds.com/general-advice-regarding-the-khawarij-terrorists-by-abu-khadeejah/

Quote Number 11: Ed Husain said, “This is a battle of messages and counter-messages – the jihadis call for a caliphate, intolerance, death and wanton destruction. We call for life, pluralism, openness and freedom of religion, conscience and security. The sharia has higher aims that are fully in line with the modern world. Radicals are in urgent need of re-education on Islam. We have the weight of 1,400 years of Muslim history behind us, the vast majority of Muslim scholars and the bulk of the global Muslim population”.

Comment: Firstly, yes indeed, the caliphate will return upon the methodology of the Prophets and none can stop it, but neither will it return based on the methodology of the terrorists nor that of Ed Husain’s; rather it will return based on the methodology of the Prophets. Read article by Shaikh Abu Iyaadh [hafidhahullaah]: http://www.aqidah.com/creed/articles/kyvik-the-khilaafah-lasted-for-30-years-then-there-was-kingship.cfm  http://www.troid.org/media/pdf/methodology.pdf

Secondly, as for intolerance, death and destruction, we have already clarified the manner in which a Muslim is to live amongst non-Muslims with fine conduct on point number 5 and provided links for further information.

Thirdly, yes indeed we also call for life – preserving the lives of people and doing our utmost to repel the ideas of anyone who calls to violence. As for pluralism, which means, “the existence of different types of people who have different beliefs and opinions within the same  society”, then indeed there can be no uprightness unless one’s beliefs are based on the Qur’aan, the authentic Sunnah and the understanding of the Sahaabah. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

فَإِنۡ ءَامَنُواْ بِمِثۡلِ مَآ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ فَقَدِ ٱهۡتَدَواْ‌ۖ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَإِنَّمَا هُمۡ فِى شِقَاقٍ۬‌ۖ فَسَيَكۡفِيڪَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ‌ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ

So if they believe in the like of that which you believe [O Muhammad], then they are rightly guided, but if they turn away, then they are only in opposition. So Allah will suffice you against them. And He is the All-Hearer, the All-Knower. [Surah al-Baqarah. Aayah 137]

Fourthly,  no other belief system or way of life will lead to paradise, except the one ordained by Allaah for the final Messenger. Allaah [The Exalted] stated:

Truly, the religion with Allah is Islam. Those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) did not differ except, out of mutual jealousy, after knowledge had come to them. And whoever disbelieves in the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, then surely, Allah is Swift in calling to account. So if they dispute with you (Muhammad) say: “I have submitted myself to Allah (in Islam), and (so have) those who follow me.” And say to those who were given the Scripture (Jews and Christians) and to those who are illiterates (Arab pagans): “Do you (also) submit yourselves (to Allah in Islam)?” If they do, they are rightly guided; but if they turn away, your duty is only to convey the Message; and Allah is All-Seer of (His ) slaves. [Aal Imraan. Aayaat 18-19]

Allaah [The Most High] stated:

وَمَن يَبۡتَغِ غَيۡرَ ٱلۡإِسۡلَـٰمِ دِينً۬ا فَلَن يُقۡبَلَ مِنۡهُ وَهُوَ فِى ٱلۡأَخِرَةِ مِنَ ٱلۡخَـٰسِرِينَ

And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of him, and in the Hereafter he will be one of the losers. [Surah Aal Imran. Aayah 85]

Therefore this is what our Lord have stated, but our Lord also informed us that none is to be forced to accept Islaam because truth has been made distinct from falsehood. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

There is no compulsion in religion. Verily, the Right Path has become distinct from the wrong path. Whoever disbelieves in Taghut and believes in Allah, then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold that will never break. And Allah is All-Hearer, All-Knower. [Surah Al-Baqarah  256]

This is truth which Ed Husain never makes clear, because he wants to propagate doubts and ambiguities in this subject matter. We do not compromise this affair, but we obey the law of the lands in which we are residing- neither harass our non-Muslim fellow citizens nor give the terrorists breathing space, nor keep quiet when Ed Husain promote erroneous views in the name of fighting extremism.

Quote Number 12: Security

Indeed, the Salafiyyoon are people who give importance to security.

Allaah (The Most High) said:

وَإِذۡ قَالَ إِبۡرَٲهِـۧمُ رَبِّ ٱجۡعَلۡ هَـٰذَا بَلَدًا ءَامِنً۬ا وَٱرۡزُقۡ أَهۡلَهُ ۥ مِنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٲتِ مَنۡ ءَامَنَ مِنۡہُم بِٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأَخِرِ‌ۖ

And (remember) when Ibrahim (Abraham) said, “My Lord, make this city (Makkah) a place of security and provide its people with fruits, such of them as believe in Allah and the Last Day.” [2:126]

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan (may Allaah preserve him) said:

Indeed, he (Ibraaheem-alayhis-salaam) gave priority to security (in his supplication) over seeking sustenance, because security is a necessity. Security is a necessity and the people cannot enjoy sustenance alongside fear; rather sustenance cannot be reached in the presence of fear. This is what the enemies’ desire–those who try to destabilise the Muslim societies.  They wish to disassociate the Muslims from their unity behind their Muslim rulers. This is what they desire and they do not desire good advice for the Muslims.

(They wish to disassociate the Muslims from their unity behind their rulers) in name of actualizing beneficial affairs, rectification, removal of oppression and the likes. All of this is lies and false pretences, because if ruler ship slips away chaos will be at large, corruption will spread and the beneficial affairs which they say will be actualized will be non-existent. Corruption will be at large and there will not be rectification.

Therefore, for this reason there has to be ruler ship upon which the Muslims unite.   And even if (such ruler ship) has shortcomings and (affairs pertaining to) negligence, the (people) should exercise patience, because there is a prevention of that which is more severe and harmful in exercising patience.  Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said: ‘’It is not known of a group that rose against their Muslim Ruler, except that their state of affairs after his removal was more evil than their state of affairs whilst he was present.’’

And this is something experienced at present.  The rulers and heads of state who have been removed, what is the state of affairs of their countries after they were (removed)? There has not ceased to be fear, anxiety, chaos, bloodshed etc. [Source: Excerpt From a Juma-ah Khutbah: Khutbah Number 1: dated 1432-03-15: http://www.alfawzan.af.org.sa/node/13208]

However, Ed Husain should understand that security in the afterlife is the main goal and it will only be attained by those whose beliefs are free from Kufr and Shirk Akbar. This should be a severe warning to Ed Husain that he abandons promoting Darwins Kufr theory of evolution. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَلَمۡ يَلۡبِسُوٓاْ إِيمَـٰنَهُم بِظُلۡمٍ أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ لَهُمُ ٱلۡأَمۡنُ وَهُم مُّهۡتَدُونَ

It is those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah and worship none but Him Alone) and confuse not their belief with Zulm (wrong i.e. by worshipping others besides Allah), for them (only) there is security and they are the guided. [Surah Al-An’aam. Aayah 82]

Quote Number 13: Ed Husain’s statement: “The sharia has higher aims that are fully in line with the modern world. Radicals are in urgent need of re-education on Islam. We have the weight of 1,400 years of Muslim history behind us, the vast majority of Muslim scholars and the bulk of the global Muslim population”.

Comment: Yes indeed, the religion – as stated by Shaikh Abdullah Al-Bukhaari – has three distinct qualities: it is comprehensive, perfect and applicable in every era, time and place. However, every new situation encountered by this Ummah is returned to the upright scholars for observation, but not to the proponents of religious innovations [ahlul bidah] and the philosophers. Radicals are in urgent need of re-education to repel their extremism, just as Ed Husain is in urgent need of re-education in order to repel the negligence that is leading him to utter statements o Kufr as well as allying with enemies of the Messenger. As for the weight of 1, 400 years of Muslim history, then indeed we learn a lesson from this and examine that which led the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] and the Sahaabah [radiyallaahu-anhum] to strength and victory.

Al-Allaamah Abdul Muhsin al-Abbaad [hafidhahullaah] said:

The Messenger [alayhis salaatu was-salaa] said:

Verily he lives long among you will see a lot of differing, so you must keep to my Sunnah and to the Sunnah of the Khulafaa ar-Rashideen [the rightly guided caliphs]. Adhere to it with your molar teeth (i.e. adhere to it firmly). And beware of newly invented matters [in the religion], for every newly invented matter [in the religion] is a bidah [innovation in the religion], and every bidah is misguidance. [Abu Dawood. Number 4607] [Tirmidhee. Number 2676]

[Also] the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] has clarified -in the hadeeth about the seventy-three sects amongst whom seventy-two sects will enter the hell fire and one sect will be saved-that the saved sect are those who adhere to the path him and his noble companions adhered to.

Imaam Maalik [rahimahullaah] said:

“The latter part of this Ummah [i.e. those who will come after the Salaf] will not be rectified except by way of that which rectified it’s earlier part [i.e. the Salaf].’’ And he [rahimahullaah) said: ‘’Whoever innovates a bidah in Islaam and considers it to be something good, then indeed he has claimed that Muhammad betrayed the Risaalah (i.e. the message he was entrusted with); because Allaah said: ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَكۡمَلۡتُ لَكُمۡ دِينَكُمۡ – This day, I have perfected your religion for you]”. [Ref 7]

Finally, this is the sound path, so may Allaah guide Ed Husain or break his back Aameen. Indeed, just as the extremists, radicals and fanatics utilise ambiguities to justify their deviations and extremism, Ed Husain also utilises ambiguities to promote his deviations and misguidance.

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said:

The basis of Banee Aadam’s misguidance is as a result of ‘General Terms’ and ‘Ambiguous Meanings’ [i.e. terms and meanings which can either be utilised for truth or falsehood when not explained in detail and distinguished], especially if they come in contact with a confused mind, then how about when [evil] desires and misguided enthusiasm is added to that? Therefore, ask the One Who keeps the hearts steadfast [i.e. Allaah] to keep your heart firm upon His Religion and not allow you to fall into this darkness. [8]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] also said:

And Allaah knows best
