[Part 3] Brief Rebuttal Against a Guardian Journalist Called Patrick Wintour Who Parrots The Word Wahhaabee And Salafi With a False Accusation!
In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.
Indeed, whenever the leftists and militant secularists open their mouths, we are reminded of Louis IX, who in the year 1250 was captured whilst on a crusade against the Muslims of Egypt. He was imprisoned and later released after paying a large ransom. However, whilst in prison he utilised his time to think about ways in which to plot against Islaam and the Muslims, so shaytaan inspired him with the following plots: Firstly: The war in the battlefield between the Christians of the west and the Muslims should be replaced with a war based on ideas and cultural supremacy. Secondly: Prepare the West to corrupt the creed of the Muslims and distort the image of Islaam in the world. [Ref 1]
Patrick Wintour stated in an article dated Monday 26 October 2020 about president Macron:
Firstly, what is separatism?
It is the belief held by people of a particular race, religion, or other group within a country that they should be independent and have their own government or in some way live apart from other people.
If this is what Mr Wintour intends by separatism, then indeed this requires clarification. Shaikh Abdul Waahid Abu Khadeejah [hafidhahullaah] says:
“Many Islamic countries are ruled by Muslims in line with their faith and the teaching of the Qur’an and Hadeeth. They can hear the call to prayer, they are not allowed to cohabit with the opposite sex, and must marry if they want to start a family, they cannot drink alcohol, gamble and so on. So those laws help Muslims live a more Islamic life. Offences such as rape, paedophilia and murder carry severe punishments because they are: (a) destructive crimes, (b) go against Islamic teachings, (c) ruin the fabric of civil society. The British government is a secular government (i.e. not based on religion). It allows practices that Muslims are not allowed to indulge in, such as drinking alcohol, eating pork, partaking in interest transactions, having sexual relations before marriage. However Muslims do not have to partake in practices that go against their faith. There were many practices that took place in Makkah when the Prophet (peace be upon him) lived there for the first thirteen years of his Prophethood, the worst of those being idolatry. Other oppositions to Islam also took place (such as the killing of baby girls), but he persevered patiently with the people and did not abandon calling them to worship Allah alone and to good conduct and morals. He lived amongst them and had great concern for their spiritual well-being”. [Ref 2]
Therefore, the above is enough to make it absolutely that our Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] lived amongst the people and dealt with them in the best manner, rather even before receiving revelation he was given the title Al-Ameen – the trustworthy one. And as Shaikh Abu Khadeejah stated, “There were many practices that took place in Makkah when the Prophet (peace be upon him) lived there for the first thirteen years of his Prophethood, the worst of those being idolatry. Other oppositions to Islam also took place (such as the killing of baby girls), but he persevered patiently with the people and did not abandon calling them to worship Allah alone and to good conduct and morals. He lived amongst them and had great concern for their spiritual well-being”.
Therefore, this is enough for the militant secularists and leftists to know that a practicing Muslim – one who understands the Qur’aan and the authentic Sunnah in the manner they were understood by the companions of Muhammad (sallal laahu alayhi wasallam) – will not violate the rights of other members of society, but also he will strives to refrain from all un-Islamic practices and maintains his Muslim identity – in belief, mannerisms, dress, dealings etc.
Imaam Al-Albaanee [rahimahullaah] said,
“From the perfection of Islam is that it laid down rulings and divine legislation in order for Muslims to preserve their Islamic personality and are not [wasted away, and deviated] – in any era – towards the [Un-Islamic] personality of another nation”. [Ref 3]
And what follows in the following links will give one a broader understanding of this important subject matter. The people of Sunnah are free from the separatism intended by the Militant Secularists and the Khaarijites (terrorists), because the Militant Secularists accuse Muslims of separatism when they refuse to engage in Un-Islamic deeds and the Khaarijies (terrorists) betray their fellow citizens by committing terrorist acts. Therefore, read the articles in the following links to educate yourself so that you are aware of the correct stance in this matter – free from the evil intentions of the Militant Secularists and the Khaarijites (terrorists) as well as the ambiguities of misguided Mr Wintour.

Alliance with the non-Muslims is of two types – misunderstanding this affair leads people astray
Mr Wintour said:
Firstly, misguided Mr Wintour should know what is to be regarded as extremism (Ghuluww) or moderation is not left to the whims and desires of the people, rather the Muslim is commanded to return to the understanding of the companions of Muhammad [sallal laahu alayhi-wasallam], otherwise either he will enter into extremism or negligence in relation to his beliefs, acts of worship, dealings and understanding. The Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said:
“My ummah [Muslims] will divide into 73 sects, all of them will be in the Fire except for one, and that is the Jamā’ah.” It was said, “And who are they, O Allah’s Messenger?” He (salallāhu ‘alaihi wasallam) responded, “That which I and my Companions are upon today”. Read more about this in this link: https://www.abukhadeejah.com/this-ummah-will-divide-into-73-sects-shaykh-al-fawzan-explains-what-it-means/
Therefore, the moderate path – the path between extremism and negligence – is that which agrees with the path of Muhammad’s [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] companions, neither based on the definitions and desires of the Militant Secularists and the Khaarijites (terrorists) nor Mr Wintour’s misconceptions and desires. As for the mention of Wahhabism and Salafiyyah, this shows Mr Wintour’s extreme ignorance in this subject matter, because the term Wahhaabee is only used by the ignorant graves worshippers and the heretical Shiiites. Al-Allaamah Muqbil Bin Haadee Al-Waadi’ee [rahimahullaah] stated regarding this affair:
And Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] said:
وَمَن يَدۡعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ لَا بُرۡهَـٰنَ لَهُ ۥ بِهِۦ فَإِنَّمَا حِسَابُهُ ۥ عِندَ رَبِّهِۦۤۚ إِنَّهُ ۥ لَا يُفۡلِحُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ
‘And whoever invokes (or worships), besides Allaah, any other ilaah (god), of whom he has no proof, then his reckoning is only with his Lord. Surely! Al-Kaafiroon (the disbelievers in Allaah and in the Oneness of Allaah, polytheists, pagans, idolaters, etc.) will not be successful.’ [Soorah Muminoon; Ayah:117]
And if you say, ‘’Indeed others have joined them (i.e. the Mushrikoon) in this (affair)’’, so I say, ‘’Whoever joins them in this (affair of shirk) is similar to them.’ Allaah said:
And invoke not besides Allaah, any that will neither profit you, nor hurt you, but if (in case) you did so, you shall certainly be one of the Zaalimoon (polytheists and wrong doers). And if Allaah touches you with hurt, there is none who can remove it but He; and if He intends any good for you, there is none who can repel His Favour which He causes it to reach whomsoever of His slaves He will. And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.’ [Soorah Yoonus; Ayah:106-107]
When you relate these verses and their likes to the (Rawaafid), and then say to them, ‘’Indeed, is it permissible to call upon the dead and seek deliverance and rescue from them?’’ They (reply), ‘’You are a Wahhaabi; you hate the family of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam).’’ This is the same (affair) with the extreme Soofees; when you say, ‘’Indeed, the awliyaa can neither benefit nor harm’, they (soofees) say, ‘you hate the awliyaa.’’ Indeed, Mighty is the word that comes out of the mouths of these two sects; they utter nothing but a lie. [Ref 4]
Shaikh. Dr Abu Iyaadh [hafidhahullaah] stated:
“Welcome to Wahhabis.Com. Muhammad bin Abd al-Wahhaab – who is commonly referred to as the founder of the ‘Wahhabi sect’, is the subject of much discussion, dispute and controversy. Sectarian and (geo-)political agendas are behind much of the controversy and misconceptions around Ibn Abd al-Wahhab and his monotheistic movement in the 18th century (CE). The controversy is fuelled in part by anti-‘Wahhabi’ propaganda which comes mostly from the Sufis (of the Ottoman era and others), the Nusayree Baatinees (of Syria), the Rafidah Shiah of Iran (and in the past the Ba’thists of Iraq), and they have invested a great deal of money and effort (including at state-levels) to push anti-‘Wahhabi’ propaganda. Further, contemporary extremist and terrorist groups are associated with Ibn Abd al-Wahhaab and the ‘Wahhabis’ because factions of them (not all of them) attempt to support and justify their activities by appeal to Ibn Abd al-Wahhaab. This website aims to present the writings of Ibn Abd al-Wahhaab and various biographical accounts to enable an accurate depiction of the history of his reform movement, his beliefs and interactions with the leaders and common Muslims of his time”. http://www.wahhabis.com/index.cfm [End of quote]
Therefore, whoever visits this website realises Mr Wintour’s ignorance in this subject matter and that he is a blind follower – parroting Wahhaabee without having a clue of the reality behind them.
As for Mr Wintour’s mention of Salafiyyah, then indeed we suffice with the following: Shaikh. Dr Abu Iyaadh [hafidhahullaah] said: “Welcome to Salafis.Com! There is much talk regarding Salafis and Salafiyyah in books, journals, the press and various other media. The “Salafi Way” is not something new, invented or innovated. By definition, it is the pure Islaam which the Companions of Allaah’s Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) held onto. When the sects foretold by the Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) appeared, those who took knowledge from the Companions began to verbally express the obligation of holding onto the way of (السلف الصالح), “The Righteous Predecessors.” From such statements is the saying of Imaam al-Zuhree (d. 124H), “Adhere to the tracks of the Salaf, even if the people reject you. And beware of the opinions of men, even if they beautify it for you with speech.” Hence, Salafiyyah is not a later innovation. Salafis are the target of sectarian bias and bigotry for many factions, from them the Raafidah, Soofiyyah, Kharijites and Takfiris, the blind-followers of the madhaahib, Secularists, Modernists and many others. As such there is a lot of propaganda in the field which is unfortunately entered into what is claimed to be “objective research”. To make matters more confusing is the presence of numerous orientations falsely ascribing to Salafiyyah despite their deviations from it in their foundations and methodologies. Many of the takfiri, Khariji groups make this false ascription. This adds another layer of confusion to anyone wanting to research and understand Salafiyyah, and leads to Salafis being wrongly attributed with the iniquities of the Takfiris and Kharijites. In light of all of these realities, this website aims to provide relevant information and critical evaluation and analysis of the various views and opinions that are being scattered in books, journals, blogs, websites, audios and videos in relation to “Salafis” and “Salafiyyah”. http://www.salafis.com/ [End of quote]
A response to Western academics who categorise Salafis into Quietists, Politicos and Jihadists – and why this is a false categorisation.
As for the statement, “We don’t believe in political Islam that is not compatible with stability and peace in the world”.
Firstly, we can only guess that this statement is referring to ISIS and their Ilk – the Khaarijites (terrorists), for indeed they are a chaotic people and no peace is expected if they rule a land. Read article: The Khawarij Past and Present: ISIS Daesh in Iraq & Syria: Ibn Kathir (died 774 AH): If The Khawarij Ever Gained Strength in Iraq and Syria, There Would Be Mass Killing: https://www.abukhadeejah.com/isis-in-iraq-syria-ibn-kathir-died-774-ah-if-the-khawaarij-ever-gained-strength-in-iraq-and-syria-there-would-be-mass-killing/
Secondly, we also remind Mr Wintour regarding the crimes committed by the West. Listen here: https://soundcloud.com/salafi-publications/q-and-a-part-3-with-abu-khadeejah-26122017
Thirdly, as for politics in Islaam, then indeed this is the job of the rulers and they are advised by the righteous scholars.
Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Madkhali [may Allaah preserve him] said:
I will mention what Ibnul Qayyim and other than him amongst the people of knowledge [rahimahumullaah] drew attention to, regarding the virtue of the scholars in the statement of Allaah [The Blessed and Exalted] said:
يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَطِيعُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُواْ ٱلرَّسُولَ وَأُوْلِى ٱلۡأَمۡرِ مِنكُمۡۖ
O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad, and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. [Surah An-Nisaa’ Aayah 59]
What is correct is that the Aayah includes both the scholars and those in authority [i.e. the rulers]. The scholars propagate the Sharee’ah of Allaah, teach the people, give rulings to the people and the rulers; and the rulers implement the rulings – implement the knowledge [of the sharee’ah] which the scholars possess and propagate. So, the Aayah includes both the scholars and rulers. And due to this, Ibnul Qayyim said that it is obligatory to obey the scholars when they say, ‘’Allaah said and Allaah’s Messenger said’’ in issues related to Aqeedah, acts of worship or deeds. [likewise] in affairs related to halaal and haram, if they say, ‘’Allaah said and the Messenger of Allaah said’’ and then they give verdicts and judge based on what the Book and Sunnah necessitates, it becomes obligated on the people to obey them. If the rulers command [the people] to obey Allaah -in accordance with what agrees with the Sharee’ah of Allaah- then it becomes obligated on the people to obey them.
[However, what is clearly] witnessed is that many people do not acknowledge the status of the people of knowledge, and they say, ‘’They (i.e. scholars) are not guardians over us and there are no popes in Islam.’’ This is tantamount to toppling the scholars, belittling them and removing them from their status [i.e. although neither are the scholars regarded as popes nor are they to be treated as popes, but they are the inheritors of the prophets and must be obeyed when they give rulings and judge based on what the Qur’aan and the Sunnah necessitate]. This chronic illness appeared since the appearance of nationalism, western colonization, the destructive views of the Naasiriyyah [i.e. Pan Arab Socialists] and Ba’thiyyah [i.e. the Ba’ath party – socialists] etc. The figureheads of these filthy dogmas made strenuous efforts to eliminate Islaam and remove it from their path, which they could not accomplish except by toppling the (upright) scholars. Then, this disease spread amongst the (deviated) groups that attribute themselves to islaam. [Ref 5]
Therefore, we obey the scholars and rulers in that which is good. We honour them and assist them in that which is good, but we do not follow their mistakes. As for the rulers, even when they are oppressive we have been commanded to avoid chaos, bloodshed and strife.
