In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.
Why Do Believers Love The Messenger More Than Themselves, Their Parents and Everyone Else?
Allaah [The Exalted] said:
النَّبِيُّ أَوْلَىٰ بِالْمُؤْمِنِينَ مِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ
The Prophet is more worthy of the believers than themselves.
[Surah Al-Ahzaab. Ayah:6]
Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said
The closest and most important thing a person possesses is himself (herself), but the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is more worthy of a person than that, because he gave them sincere advise, and showed them affection and compassion. There is none who shows the most mercy and compassion to the creation, except that the Messenger is the greatest favour amongst the creation to the people than everyone else. That is because neither an ant’s weight of good has reached them nor an ant’s weight of evil is repelled from them, except through him [i.e. due to the message he conveyed to them from Allaah]. And for this reason, it is obligated on them that when the desires of their souls are in opposition to what the Messenger wants, they should give precedence to what the Messenger wants. They should not oppose the statement of the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] with the statement of anyone else- regardless who that person may be, and they are to sacrifice themselves, their wealth and offspring in giving precedence to loving the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wsallam) over the entire creation. They are not to say anything [i.e. in the religion] until he says so, nor do they put themselves forward before him. [Ref 1] [end of quote]
So, this is one of the reasons behind the believer’s unconditional and great love for the final Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him]. Hopefully, the French ideologues and their blind followers will understand that the Muslims show their displeasure because they witness the extreme immorality of the French cartoonists and worshippers of freedom – those who belittle the Prophet of Allaah in the name of freedom of expression; rather their aim is nothing else but freedom to intentionally utter disbelief and immorality, incite hatred and animosity.
Second, the ideologues stated, “We hear your anger, but won’t accept violence!”
Indeed, this same Messenger – whom the believers love more than their parents and themselves – taught them the most upright conduct in their mutual dealings – in times of pleasure and displeasure. They are commanded to follow his path if they truly love him, just as Allaah [The Exalted] said:
[قُلۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تُحِبُّونَ ٱللَّهَ فَٱتَّبِعُونِى يُحۡبِبۡكُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَيَغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡ ذُنُوبَكُمۡۗ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٌ۬ رَّحِيمٌ۬
Say (O Muhammad to mankind): “If you (really) love Allah then follow me, Allah will love you and forgive you of your sins. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful].
This verse is conveyed to everyone who claims to love Allaah, whilst he (or she) is not one who truly follows Allaah’s Prophet Muhammad [peace and blessings of Alaah be upon him]- neither obeys the Prophet’s command nor keeps away from what the Prophet has forbidden. So unless he or she [i.e. the one who claims to love Allaah] truly follows the Messenger, then indeed they are not truthful in their claim. [Ref 2]
Therefore, the ideologues are informed of the fact that true love of the Messenger necessitates that we follow his path, and he is the one who informed us that a Muslim is not allowed to kill his fellow non-Muslim citizens. He said:
“Whoever kills a person who is granted the agreement of protection by the Muslims shall not smell the fragrance of Paradise though its fragrance can be smelled at a distance of forty years journey.” [Ref “A]
This is why our Mashaayikh in the West are foremost in rebutting terrorism and vigilantism. See here:
The Salafi Response To The Terrorist Attacks In Paris, France: “Were they forbidding an evil?”
After acquainting oneself with the information in the above links, then the ideologues and their blind followers will understand that Islaam is free from the actions of Muslims whose anger leads to a violation of the command of the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] – that we must protect the lives of our non-Muslim fellow citizens.
Likewise, it is obligated on us – in our religion – to report and expose anyone who is planning terrorist acts. See here: It Is Not Betrayal, Rather It Is An Obligation to Report Terrorists to The Non-Muslim Authorities – By Allaamah Saaleh al-Fawzaan [hafidhahullaah]: http://www.answering-extremism.com/trans-pub/ae_saf_12.pdf
Finally, we have been commanded to avoid any speech that would lead to evil consequences.
Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] said:
وَقُل لِّعِبَادِي يَقُولُوا الَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ ۚ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَنزَغُ بَيْنَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ كَانَ لِلْإِنسَانِ عَدُوًّا مُّبِينًا
And say to My slaves that they should (only) say those words that are the best. (Because) Shaitan (Satan) verily, sows disagreements among them. Surely, Shaitan (Satan) is to man a plain enemy.
Allaah [The Blessed and Most High] command His slave and Messenger [i.e. Muhammad] to command the believers that they speak to one another in their conversations and discussions with what is better and good, for if they do not do so, shaytaan will initiate a state of conflict between them and speech will lead to actions, and thus evil, (blameworthy) argumentation and fighting will occur, because indeed shaytaan is an enemy of Aadam and his children since (that time) he refused to prostrate. [Ref 3]
However, the French and Danish cartoonists -so called upholders of civilized behaviour – utter speech that brings about enmity, rather they utter speech that angers the Lord of the heavens and the earth. Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] said:
[إِنَّ شَانِئَكَ هُوَ ٱلۡأَبۡتَرُ – he who makes you angry (O Muhammad) will be cut off (from every good thing in this world and in the Hereafter)] – Meaning, he who hates, reviles and belittles you will be cut off from every good- cut off from deeds that would have helped him in the Hereafter and cut off from being remembered [with good]. As for Muhammad [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam], he is the perfect human being in truth, who attained the highest level of human perfection, his name exalted and he has numerous helpers and followers. [Ref 4]
This is how Allaah -Himself – will deal with a person who hates, belittles and slanders His noblest Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him].
As for what the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] taught the believers regarding good behaviour towards others, he said to Yazeed Ibn Asad [radiyallaahu-anhu], “O Yazeed! Love for people what you love for yourself”. He [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] also said, “Do not treat people, except in the same way you would love to be treated by them”. [Ref 5]
We ask Allaah to increase our love for the Messenger, enable us o follow and defend him until we leave this world. And may Allaah guide the ideologues and immoral cartoonists Aamen.
We are free from all the deviants – the khaarijites (terrorists) and immoral Cartonists!
