Skilled Digital Forensics Investigators and Spies- [Unveil Affair of Those Seeking to Ruin Peace and Security of a Country and Report Those Seeking to Commit Terrorist Acts]


In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Abdullah Bin Amr [may Allaah be pleased with him] reported that the Messenger of Allaah [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, ”Whoever would love to be delivered from Hellfire and admitted into Paradise, let him meet his end whilst believing in Allaah and the Last Day, and let him treat people as he would love to be treated”. [Ref 1]

Imaam An-Nawawi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: This is from the Jawaami al-Kalim of the Prophet [i.e. precise speech with a comprehensive meaning] and his amazing wisdom. It is obligatory to pay close attention to this important principle and that a person must not deal with the people except in a way he loves to be dealt with. [Ref 2]

Indeed, there are those whose history of spying and transgression against other nations is well-known, but they are the first to complain and claim to be victims of foul play, especially when those opponents of theirs who are highly skilled in digital technology stealthily scoop up specific emails and documents on a target list from their countries, develop codes to hijack widely used network software, steal the login credentials of people in their institutions and then use those details to access some of the information held by government agencies. Indeed, spying is forbidden in Islaam, but even though there are exceptions to this general prohibition; however, in our era, digital spies – whether private individuals or those working on behalf of state institutions – do plot against one another. The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, ”Whoever listens to the talk of some people who do not like him (to listen) or they run away from him, then molten lead will be poured into his ears on the Day of Resurrection. [Sahih Al-Bukhaari Number 7042]. Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] said, ”This is a severe threat, so one should not listen to the speech of the people if they do not want anyone to know what they are talking about”. [Ref 3]

When Is It Allowed to Listen to The Conversations of The People Without Their Permission

Al-Allaamah Zayd Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:

It may be that two or more people gather to speak about a particular affair that concerns them, and they do not want anyone else to know about it; but then a person or more than one person becomes an obstacle by listening to their speech and [wants] to know what they are talking about, whilst they are not pleased with that. This is an act of transgression and foolishness – that a person involves himself into something that does not concern him. And from the perfection of a person’s Islaam is to leave that which does not concern him. However, there is an exception to this prohibition such as when a person listens into the speech of those who are focused or (involved) in seeking to breach the state of safety and security of the Muslims. [Ref 4]

So, as Al-Allaamah Zayd Bin Haadee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated, those focused in seeking to ruin security in the land must be investigated and this no doubt is the path of the internal and external plotters, such as the khawaarij and some of the spiteful militant secularists- those who constantly seek to destabilize Muslim countries. The Khawaarij seek to destabilize the Muslim nations internally and some of the spiteful militant secularists seek to do so externally, and both groups have their slogans and ways by way of which they bring harm upon the Muslims.

Harm of The Khawaarij [Terrorists]

Shaikh Falaah Ismaa’eel [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: ”One of the greatest (affairs) that shows their danger is that they will remain and continue to exist until the day of judgement, because indeed they are the basis of every Fasaad [i.e. corruption] and Ifsaad [i.e. corrupting every affair by removing it from what it is supposed to be] in the earth- the basis of the spread of panic and undermining security in the land and the basis of every deviation from the true methodology, because they abandon knowledge and the scholars out of being deceived by their outward deeds. And due to this, the first thing Abdullaah Ibn Abbaas [may Allaah be pleased with him and his father] discredited them with was that there was not a single companion of Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] amongst them and they are the original source of knowledge -neither permissible for anyone to emerge and be a position in religious affairs except through them nor acquire knowledge except from them, because they are the most knowledgeable regarding that which Allaah and His Messenger intend by way of the text. And that which is worthy that one should be aware of – in order to be acquainted with their danger – is that which Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] wished if he were to meet them and what he described regarding what he will do to them, that he would slaughter them in a manner similar to the manner in which Aad and Thamood were slaughtered- even though they [i.e. khawaarij] are from the Ummah and from the people of the Qiblah, and especially when one recalls the statement of Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] about dogs, that ‘Had dogs not been a community amongst the communities, I would have commanded that all of them be killed’. [Ref A] Therefore, a sensible person compares and ponders regarding what the Messenger of guidance and mercy wished to do to these Khawaarij – despite their [devotion] in worship, prayer, fasting and recitation of the Qur’aan – as opposed to what he forbade himself and others from doing to dogs. Indeed, this is a great proof regarding the danger due to the continuation of this thought [i.e. Falsely ejecting Muslims from the fold of Islaam] and this type of people in the Ummah [i.e. the Khawaarij], because they weaken the Ummah and preoccupy it with [internal problems, strife etc]. [Ref 5]

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Madkhalee [may Allaah preserve him] said: ”The Khawaarij and their kill the people whilst they are in prayer. They (wait for) the time of the prayer and kill people in their Mosques. This has taken place in some of the lands. They launch an attack and kill them whilst they [i.e. the people] are in prayer”. [Ref 6]

Plot of The Spiteful Militant Secularists Against The Believers By Way of Ideas and Slogans

Allaah [The Most High] said:

قَدۡ مَڪَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَأَتَى ٱللَّهُ بُنۡيَـٰنَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقَوَاعِدِ فَخَرَّ عَلَيۡہِمُ ٱلسَّقۡفُ مِن فَوۡقِهِمۡ وَأَتَٮٰهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ
ثُمَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ يُخۡزِيهِمۡ وَيَقُولُ أَيۡنَ شُرَڪَآءِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ كُنتُمۡ تُشَـٰٓقُّونَ فِيہِمۡ‌ۚ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ إِنَّ ٱلۡخِزۡىَ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ وَٱلسُّوٓءَ عَلَى ٱلۡڪَـٰفِرِينَ

Those before them indeed plotted, but Allah struck at the foundation of their building, and then the roof fell down upon them, from above them, and the torment overtook them from directions they did not perceive. Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will disgrace them and will say: “Where are My (so called) ‘partners’ concerning whom you used to disagree and dispute (with the believers, by defying and disobeying Allah)?” Those who have been given the knowledge (about the Torment of Allah for the disbelievers) will say: “Verily! Disgrace this Day and misery are upon the disbelievers. [Surah An-Nahl. Aayah 26-27]

[قَدۡ مَڪَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ – Those before them indeed plotted]: Meaning plotted against their Messengers, employed various types of tricks in order to reject that which the messengers brought and established gigantic safeguards [by way of arguments, views etc] on their plots. [فَأَتَى ٱللَّهُ بُنۡيَـٰنَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقَوَاعِدِ – but Allah struck at the foundation of their building]– Meaning, an affair came to them from its basis and foundation [فَخَرَّ عَلَيۡہِمُ ٱلسَّقۡفُ مِن فَوۡقِهِمۡ – and then the roof fell down upon them, from above them] -Meaning, so what they built became a punishment for them.

[وَأَتَٮٰهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ – and the torment overtook them from directions they did not perceive]: Meaning, that is because they thought that such a building will benefit and protect them from punishment, but their punishment occurred from that which they built and established.
This is one the best of parables regarding how Allaah nullifies the plots of his enemies, for indeed they pondered and reflected on that which the Messengers brought when they belied them, made up principles and rules for it based on falsehood, referred back to them to reject that which the Messengers came with, employed tricks to bring discomfort to the Messengers and inflict harm on them and those who followed them, but their plot became a source of evil against them, so their plan became their destruction, because their plot was evil as Allaah said: [َلَا يَحِيقُ الْمَكْرُ السَّيِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهْلِهِ – But the evil plot encompasses only him who makes it]. This is in this worldly life and the punishment in the afterlife would be more disgraceful, and due to this Allaah said: [ثُمَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ يُخۡزِيهِمۡ – Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will disgrace them]. [7]

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:

They seek to conquer the intellects of the Muslim children and nurture their hearts upon their views, either by making them feel that their ways are superior in every affair-be it in affairs of creed and religion, or that which they speak with by way of languages, or what they consider to be civilized manners, customs etc.. They seek to nurture a great number of Muslims in the Muslim lands until they are intoxicated with their views and return them to their lands. Then they start praising and promoting them until they become the figureheads in their countries. So they spread their ideas through these people…etc They encourage the Muslims in the Muslim lands to learn their languages at the expense of the Arabic language, which is the language of the Qur’aan- the language by way of which the Muslims perform their acts of worship. They also establish many studies that are intended to cause nuisance and glorify what they call popular literature and national heritage…..etc They prepare a large number of people amongst their people to study Islam and the Arabic language and write books, and take up teaching positions in universities- orientalists….etc They also spread propaganda that Muslim women in the Muslim lands are oppressed in order to take them out of their homes and place them where they want. But Allaah (The Most High) said:

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُلْ لِأَزْوَاجِكَ وَبَنَاتِكَ وَنِسَاءِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يُدْنِينَ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنْ جَلابِيبِهِنَّ ذَلِكَ أَدْنَى أَنْ يُعْرَفْنَ فَلا يُؤْذَيْنَ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا

O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies. That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” They set up radio programmes designed to mislead gullible young Muslims who do not understand Islam and do not have sufficient knowledge, especially in Africa…. However if the Muslims exercise patience these plots will not harm them. Allaah (The Most High) said:

[وَإِنْ تَصْبِرُوا وَتَتَّقُوا لا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ – But if you remain patient and become Al-Muttaqun (the pious – see V.2:2), not the least harm will their cunning do to you. Surely, Allah surrounds all that they do]. [Ref 8]

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee [may Allaah preserve him] says:

So it is not permissible for the scholars to remain heedless of their plans (i.e. the enemies of Islaam), their actions, their publications, their missionary activities and their various calls (to the Muslims). And also the various poisons they are infusing – which are in opposition to the Qur’aan and the Messenger (peace abd blessings of Allaah be upon him] and his Sunnah. And nor of what plans they have for (the destruction of) the beliefs and methodologies of Islaam. It is not permissible either, to remain heedless of their concentrated efforts to Christianize or secularize the Muslim youth. And along with that, the Muslim youth and the students are not able to oppose this plan and strategy. Rather it is necessary that the distinguished Ulamaa – those who are experienced and shrewd – it is for such people, in all the places to undertake this duty. So it is obligatory for some of the intelligent and ingenious people from the field of Aqeedah [sound belief] to be mobilized for opposing these plans. And likewise it is a must that the intelligent and distinguished from amongst the specialists in the Sunnah – that they be mobilized for the refutation of these and similarly the eminent and distinguished from amongst those in the fields of Orientalism for the refutation of the plans of the Orientalists.” (Ahl ul-Hadeeth, p.102)

The Shaikh also says: “I myself believe that it is a benefit – rather it is of necessity – that we know what the enemies are planning for us, and that it is necessary for us to prepare (ourselves in strength) to destroy their plans. However, I do not exaggerate in this matter, rather my view is the view of our scholars and they have all agreed upon this – that amongst the obligatory matters there are some that are Fard Ain [i.e. an individual obligation] and others that are Fard Kifaayah [i.e. communal obligation] – and even if knowing the state of the enemies is harmful – it is still necessary for us to know it – but it is treated as Fard Kifaayah. When some attend to it, then the harm is removed from the rest” up until he said: “So I consider that there is no criticism for the Ulamaa and the students of knowledge who take great concern for preserving the Sharee’ah of Allaah – in terms of the Book, the Sunnah and its understanding – for this is one of the duties of the Kifaayah actions. And I believe that these people are more superior, noble, truthful and of more benefit to Islaam than those who are weak in their knowledge of the religion of Allaah or those who have no share in acquainting themselves with it.” [An excerpt from an article at www.salafipublications.com titled: The Salafis and Looking into the Affairs of the Ummah]

Al-Khattaabee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: The meaning of this statement is that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] hated that a community amongst the communities and a species amongst the creation would disappear until all of them cease to exist, because indeed there is not a creature from Allaah’s creatures except that there is some wisdom behind their existence and some welfare. So, when this is the case regarding this affair and there is no way of killing all of them, then kill the evil ones amongst them – the black ones- and leave the others, so that you benefit from them as guard dogs. [An Excerpt from Ma’aalim As-Sunan 4/132. slightly paraphrased]

NB: The others dogs which one is allowed to keep are: The hunting dog, the farm dog or the one utilised for herding livestock or the guard dog”.

Abdullah Ibn Umar [may Allaah be pleased with him and his father] said, “Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, ‘Whoever keeps a dog, except a dog for herding livestock or a dog that is trained for hunting, two qiraats [i.e. great reward] will be deducted from his reward each day’”. [Reported by Bukhaari 5163 and Muslim 1574]

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: Due to this, if a house is located in the middle of the city, then no need of having a dog to guard it, therefore, to have a dog for this reason in such circumstances is unlawful and impermissible, and it takes away one or two qiraats from a person’s reward each day. However, if the house is located in the countryside and no is present, then it is allowed to have a dog to guard the house and the people residing in it. To guard people of a household is more important than guarding livestock or crops. [An Excerpt from Majmoo Fataawa Ibn Uthaymeen 4/246. slightly paraphrased]
