Islamic Extremists, Sunni Extremists, Shiite Muslims, Islamic Revolution, Aa’Shooraa – [Reply to Seth J. Frantzman at Jerusalem Post]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Most High] said: [يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ – They want to extinguish Allaah’s Light with their mouths [i.e. the Qur’an, the pure Islamic monotheism and the guidance Allaah sent Muhammad with] but Allah will not allow except that His Light should be perfected even though the disbelievers hate (it)]. [Surah At-Tawbah: Verse 32]

Imaam Ibn Katheer [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: They want to extinguish that which Allaah sent His Messenger with of guidance and the religion of truth merely by way of their arguments and fabrications; so their example in this is that of one who wants to extinguish the light of the sun or the moon by blowing at (them) and this can never be achieved. [Tafseer Ibn Katheer]

Some of these people behave as if they are seeking to fulfil the goal of king Louis IX, who in the year 1250 was captured whilst on a crusade against the Muslims of Egypt. He was imprisoned and later released after paying a large ransom. However, whilst in prison he utilised his time to think about ways in which to plot against Islaam and the Muslims, so shaytaan inspired him with the following plots: Firstly: The war in the battlefield between the Christians of the west and the Muslims should be replaced with a war based on ideas and cultural supremacy. Secondly: Prepare the West to corrupt the creed of the Muslims and distort the image of Islaam in the world.

[1] Seth J. Frantzman stated, “Nigeria has been plagued by Islamic extremists linked to Boko Haram for the last decade”.

Response: The term Islamic extremists requires detail and distinction. What is meaning of the word ‘Islamic’ in the English dictionary? It is means something “Connected with the Muslim religion, or with people or countries who follow it”. What is the meaning of the word “extremist” in the English dictionary? It means “someone who has beliefs that most people think are unreasonable and unacceptable”.

This is – in general – what the words ‘Islamic’ and ‘extremist’ means in the English language. However, what is Islamic or un-Islamic, moderate or extreme is not determined by anyone; rather the Qur’aan and authentic Prophetic tradition are the only judges in this affair, as well as what was understood and implemented by the companions of Prophet Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him]. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad ), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if you believe in Allah and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination”. [Surah An-Nisaa. Verses 58-59]
Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And the first to embrace Islam of the Muhajirun (those who migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah) and the Ansar (the citizens of Al-Madinah who helped and gave aid to the Muhajirun) and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allah is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him. He has prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell therein forever. That is the supreme success. [Surah At-Tawbah. Verse 100]

Abu Najeeh Al-Irbaad Ibn Saariyah [may Allah be pleased with him] said, “The Messenger of Allah [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] gave us a sermon by which our hearts were filled with fear and tears came to our eyes. So we said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! It is as though this is a farewell sermon, so counsel us’. He said, ‘I counsel you to have taqwa (fear) of Allah, and to listen and obey (your leader), even if a slave were to become your Ameer. Verily he among you who lives long will see a lot of differing, so you must adhere to my path and to the path of the Rightly Guided Caliphs- those who guide to the right way. Cling to it firmly [literally: with your molar teeth]. Beware of newly invented matters (in the religion), for verily every bidah (innovation in religious affairs) is misguidance'”. [Hadeeth 28. Forty Hadeeth of An-Nawawi].

Therefore, we remind Seth J. Frantzman that all affairs related to the religion are judged based on the Qur’aan, the authentic Sunnah and the understanding of Prophet Muhammad’s companions, and there is no room for the opinions of the people if they oppose these three sources. Extremism cannot be attributed to Islam, rather the beliefs and deeds that contradict the authentic Prophetic tradition are either sins or religious innovations, and they are all rejected. The noble Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Whoever innovates into this matter of ours that which is not from it will have it rejected”. In another narration, the Prophet said, “Whoever performs a deed that is not in accordance with our affair (i.e. our path), it will be rejected”. [Ṣaheeh Al-Bukhaaree 2697 and Saheeh Muslim 1718]

Secondly, with regards to Boko Haram, their affair is well known. The Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Al-Allaamah Abdul Azeez Aala Shaikh [may Allaah preserve him] stated: Boka Haraam is a misguided group and are from the khawaarij. Their actions are evil and harmful for Islam and the Muslims. Their actions are destructive. Abducting girls is from the actions of a misguided group. If Boka Haraam are claiming a call to jihad, then it is nothing but ignorance and enmity against Islaam and the Muslims. Boka Haraam are not upon correctness and guidance because Islaam opposes abduction/kidnapping, unlawful killing and transgression. Marrying off kidnapped/abducted females is haraam and it is not permissible to give them in marriage. Boko Haram and Al-Shabab Recruits Lack ‘lack Religious Schooling:
http://www.islamagainstextremism.com/articles/dmxyllr-boko-haram-and-al-shabab-recruits-lack-religious-schooling.cfm

[2] Seth J. Frantzman stated, “Iran’s Tasnim News Agency shed light on Thursday on the role that Iran and its support for Shi’ite Islamic groups may be playing in Nigeria”.

“Zakzaky called the “Islamic Movement” the “voice of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in Nigeria” and he “stressed that the movement is witnessing growth and prosperity.” He added that “after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran, we realized that the ideas of this revolution are similar to the ideas of us students at the university.”

Response: Regarding “Islamic Movement” and “Voice of the Islamic Revolution of Iran in Negeria”, the Shiites do not call to Islam, rather they call to the path of Abdullah Bin Sabah – a Jew who hid within Islam and ignited trials. Shaikh Shamsuddeen Al-Afghaanee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated: “When the enemies of Islaam saw that they were unable to do away with this religion, they implanted their disbelieving agents within it – those who pretended to be Muslims in order to kindle confusion, trials and tribulations, and spread polytheism by exaggerating the status of the pious people and exalting their graves through [beliefs and practices] that were not ordained by Allaah. So, the Ummah [Islamic Nation] was put to trial through the plots of the [atheist, heretic and hypocrite] Abdullaah Bin Saba, who claimed Uloohiyyah for Ali Ibn Abee Taalib [i.e. that Ali (the cousin of the Prophet) had the right to be worshipped besides Allaah]. Abdullaah Bin As- Sabah’s followers were known as the Saba’iyyah and later on they were known as the Rawaafid (shiites), the ismaaliyyah (shittes), the nusayriyah (shiites) and other than them amongst the Baatiniyyah. They worshipped the graves and its inhabitants, and built places of worship and shrines upon those graves. So, through these practices, they revived the (corrupt ancient practices) of those Jews, Christians and the idol worshippers (who deviated from the straight path of the Prophets and Messengers of Allaah). This is how the practices of the worshippers of graves in this Muslim Nation manifested itself through the practices initiated by the rawaafid (shiites)”. [Source: Juhoodu Ulamaa Al-Hanafiyyah Fee Ibtaal Aqaa-id Al-Qubooriyyeen’ of Shaikh Shamshud-deen As-Salafi Al-Afghaanee’ Vol 1 page 19-25]

Question to Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him]: Is it correct that the first to innovate the Madhab of the Raafidah was Abdullaah Ibn Saba the Yahoodee? Response: Yes, without a doubt. The Raafidah or the Shiites in general are of two types: The Shiites from the fire worshipers and the Shiites from the Jews ….they hide behind Islaam in order to corrupt it. The Yahood plotted through Abdullaah Ibn Sabah and the first affair he began with was to ignite fitnah against Uthmaan [may Allaah be pleased with him]. As for so called “Islamic Revolution”, then indeed Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Madkhalee [may Allaah preserve him] was asked: “Going out to demonstrations, (initiating) revolutions and nurturing the youth upon it; is this from the methodology of the adherents to the authentic Prophetic Path or not, whether (carried) out within or outside the Muslim countries?” He responded, ” This is the methodology of Marx (i.e. Carl Marx), Lenin (i.e. Vladimir Lenin) and those similar to them. It is not from the Islamic methodology. Revolutions, bloodshed, trials and troubles are Marx’s and Lenin’s school of thought”. [Source:An excerpt from كشف الستار Page: 18]

[3] Seth J. Frantzman stated, “Nigeria has a large Islamic community, making up around half the country and Nigeria has been plagued by extremists linked to Boko Haram in the last decade. However, the role of pro-Iranian or Shi’ite groups is more complex because Boko Haram is ostensibly rooted in Sunni extremists and linked to groups, like ISIS, that tend to be sectarian and against Shi’ites”.

Response to the above statement, “Boko Haram is ostensibly rooted in Sunni extremists and link to groups like ISIS, that tend to be sectarian and against Shi’ites”. Firstly, as for the term Sunni, then indeed none is to be ascribed to the Sunnah until he combines the characteristics of the Sunnah. Imaam Al-Barbahaaree [rahimahullaah] said: “It is not permitted for a man to say, ‘So and so is a person of the sunnah’ until he knows that he combines the characteristics of the Sunnah, so it is not said of him, ‘a person of the Sunnah’ until he combines all the Sunnah”. Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] commented on the above statement of Imaam Barbahaaree saying, “Do not give recommended to a person and a praise of him, except based on knowledge, lest the people become deceived by your praise of him, whilst he is not what (you have stated about him). So when his real affair and path is clear to you, his knowledge and steadfastness; then you can give him recommendation. As for giving out praise and recommendation whilst not knowing of anything about him, then this is a dangerous recommendation through which the people will be deceived by this person. Had only those who give commendations to the people stopped at that (i.e. put it in its proper place), then they would not give recommendation, except for one who fulfils the conditions of (receiving) recommendation because recommendation is a ‘Witness’; so, if the recommendation is not correct it will be a false witness”.

And concerning the statement of Imaam Barbahaaree: ‘until he knows that he combines the characteristics of the Sunnah’ Shaikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan commented on the above statement saying: The characteristics of the Sunnah are to be in Creed, Knowledge and adherence to the Salafus Saaleh. But if there is not in him except a single characteristic of the (sunnah), then he is not judged to be from Ahlus Sunnah on the basis of a single characteristic or one thing, so what about the one who does not have anything from that? [It-haaful Qaaree Bitta’liqaat Alaa Sharhis Sunnah Lil Imaam Barbahaaree, Vol: 2, page:275-276]

After being acquainted with the fact that ascription to the Sunnah cannot be applied as one wishes, then one must speak about these people [Terrorists] based on the reality of their affair. Indeed, either the ignorant journalists refrain from attributing the crimes of the Khawaarij to Sunniyyah or they seek knowledge in this subject matter. And just because a person has aspects of the Sunnah does not mean that he is attributed to the Sunnah, therefore, even if the Khawaarij- those whom the journalists refer to as Sunni extremists – claim that they are people of Sunnah, then indeed their claim is null and void due to their actions; rather they are Alul Bidah [Proponents of religious innovations]. Therefore, one should read what is found in this link about the 73 sects. https://www.abukhadeejah.com/this-ummah-will-divide-into-73-sects-shaykh-al-fawzan-explains-what-it-means/
As for ISIS, their affair is well known. Listen here: https://soundcloud.com/learnaboutislam/origins-alqaida-isis

As for the Shiites and their link to Islam, then indeed the reality is as follows in this clarification! https://salaficentre.com/2020/01/04/shia-muslim-shia-islaam-myth-mirage-or-reality/

[4] Seth J. Frantzman quotes a Nigerian Raafidi who stated, “After our release from prison, we asked for a passport.” He described the “message from Imam Hussein” in his discussion and that he observes the Shi’ite ceremonies of Ashura and Arbaeen. “Blood is victorious over the sword,” he said.

Response: Regarding Aashooraa, read here: https://salaficentre.com/2019/09/07/aashooraa-the-salafi-methodology-is-clear-as-the-midday-sun-and-the-salafis-are-innocent-be-it-on-the-day-of-aashooraa-or-other-days-of-the-pre-islamic-practices-of-the-raafidah-shiites-atrociti/

As for the shiite claims regarding Husain [may Allaah be pleased with him], we’ll suffice with the information on this link: How the Shia Killed the Grandson of the Prophet: https://safeshare.tv/x/MdsrmMzdTj

Finally, with regards to the Khawaarij (Boko Haram, ISIS, Al-Shabab, Al-Qaida and their ilk), read here: The Hotbed and Axis of Violent and Political Bidah [Takfeeris, Shia Raafidah and Ikhwaanis – (Stooges of Al-Baghdaadi, Khumeini and Hasan Al-Bannah)]: https://salaficentre.com/2020/05/17/the-hotbed-and-axis-of-violent-and-political-bidah-takfeeris-shia-raafidah-and-ikhwaanis-stooges-of-al-baghdaadi-khumeini-and-hasan-al-bannah/

Therefore, we remind Seth J. Frantzman that either he details the affairs or remain silent, because silence beautifies the scholar and conceals the affair of the ignorant one! Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, Imaam Abdur-Rahmaan Bin Naasir As-Sadi [rahimahullaah] said: And what is well known is that Allaah neither loves ignorance nor doubts, neither confusion nor misguidance; rather He loves the religion, knowledge and certainty. Indeed, we have been commanded to ask Him (The Most High) to guide us to the straight path and this necessitates knowledge of the truth and acting upon it, and the Qur’aan is the cure, guidance and light. The Muslims are agreed [upon the fact] that doubt and confusion are unpraiseworthy, and it is expected – absolutely- that a person who does not possess knowledge of something is obligated to keep quiet and seek knowledge via its (sound) sources. [An Excerpt from Al-adillatul Qawaatiq Wal-baraaheen Fee Ibtaali Usoolil Mulhideen. Page 15]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “It is obligated on you to give detail and make a distinction, because unrestricted and general [statements] without clarification has indeed corrupted this existence [i.e. the world], and misguided the intellects and views [of the people] in every era”.

Al-Allaamah Saaleh al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preseve him] commented on the above statement, “There has to be detail explanation. The one who is not proficient in giving detail should keep quiet, because benefit is not acquired from his speech. And every time error occurs, its cause is due to an absence of detail explanation regarding truth and falsehood. There has to be detail explanation and distinction and not to mix up [affairs]. Indeed, it may be that there is something of truth and falsehood in an opponent’s statement, so all of it is neither deemed to be false nor truth; rather there has to be a distinction between its truth and falsehood. All of it is neither rejected nor accepted; rather a distinction is made regarding the truth and what is correct and the falsehood and error in it. And if you are not proficient in giving detail, then you should not enter into this field. [An Excerpt from At-Ta-leeqaat Al-Mukhtasar Alaa Al-Qaseedah an-Nooniyyah: Vol: 1 page: 216. Slightly paraphrased]

All that Seth did was mix truth with falsehood! The truth uttered was that Boko Haram and ilk are misguided, but the falsehood in his statement was that he atributed them to Sunniyyah. Likewise, he failed to distinguish between the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet and the path of the Raafidah Shiites. Allaah [The Exalted] said: [وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ – And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you know (the truth)]. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Verse 42]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: Allaah forbade (us) from mixing truth with falsehood, and thus leading to concealment of the truth. Mixing truth with false is by mixing the two until one of them is confused for the other. This is forgery and deceit by way of which what is made apparent is the opposite of what it is in reality. Likewise, when truth is confounded with falsehood, the culprit manifests falsehood in the image of truth and speaks with a statement that carries two meanings- a correct meaning and false meaning, so the listener is under the illusion that the speaker intends the correct meaning, whilst he (i.e. the speaker) intends the corrupt meaning. [Badaa’i At-Tafseer Al-Jaami Limaa Fassarahu Al-Imaam Ibnul Qayyim’ Vol 1, page 124. slightly paraphrased]

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Falsehood does not spread except with a mixture of some truth, just as the people of the scripture (i.e. those Jews and Christians who deviated after the departure of their Prophets) mixed truth with falsehood. And by way of the little truth they possessed, they misguided many from the truth and called them to a lot of the falsehood. [Majmoo 35/190]

We ask Allaah to protect us from ignorance and evil desires and guide Seth Aameen.

An Example of Those Who Strayed – In The Subject Matter of Purification – Towards The Path of Those Ahlul Kitaab Who Strayed From The Path of Their Prophets

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Allaah [The Exalted] said: [ وَكَذَٲلِكَ جَعَلۡنَـٰكُمۡ أُمَّةً۬ وَسَطً۬ا لِّتَڪُونُواْ شُہَدَآءَ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ وَيَكُونَ ٱلرَّسُولُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ شَهِيدً۬ا‌ۗ – Thus We have made you [true Muslims real believers of Islamic Monotheism, true followers of – Prophet Muhammad and his Sunnah (legal ways)], a Wasat [just and the best] nation, that you be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger (Muhammad) be a witness over you]. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Verse 143]

Allaah [The Exalted] also said:

My Mercy embraces all things. That (Mercy) I shall ordain for those who are the pious, and give Zakat; and those who believe in Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs and revelations, etc.); those who follow the Messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write (i.e.Muhammad) whom they find written with them in the Taurat (Torah) (Deut, xviii, 15) and the Injeel (Gospel) (John xiv, 16) , he – commands them for Al-Ma’ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained); and forbids them from Al-Munkar (i.e. disbelief, polytheism of all kinds, and all that Islam has forbidden); he allows them as lawful At-Taiyibat [(i.e. all good and lawful) as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, etc.], and prohibits them as unlawful Al-Khaba’ith (i.e. all evil and unlawful as regards things, deeds, beliefs, persons, foods, etc.), he releases them from their heavy burdens (of Allah’s Covenant), and from the fetters (bindings) that were upon them. So those who believe in him (Muhammad), honour him, help him, and follow the light (the Qur’an) which has been sent down with him, it is they who will be successful. [Surah Al-A’raaf. Verses 156-157]

This is why those amongst the Muslims who deviate towards the doubts of the Jews and Christians are commanded to abandon such deviation and follow the straight path – the path which Allaah bestowed on the Prophets, the truthful ones, the martyrs and righteous, and not the path of those who have earned Allaah’s Anger, such as those Jews who disbelieved in the Messiah after having knowledge, and those who went astray such as those Christians who deviated from the path of the Messiah, exaggerated his status by worshipping him and worshipped Allaah based on ignorance And similar to them is the one who [ascribed to Islaam], but goes beyond bounds in avoiding impure things and thus declares impure that which has not been declared impure by Allaah and His Messenger; makes unlawful that which Allaah and His Messenger have not made unlawful, captured by the whispers of shaytaan and forbids the good things which Allaah made lawful for the Muslims, such as the one who holds the opinion that if impurity is removed and there is nothing remaining of it, then the place it was found is still impure if the impurity was not removed by that which has been prescribed as a condition for its removal such as water or other than it; or he holds that good water and other good liquids that have not been affected by something filthy is unlawful merely due to the reason that they have come into contact with some filth. [Footnote a – refer to detail about the ruling on water at the end of this article]

And even worst is the affair of those who excommunicate Muslims who oppose them, as is the view of many of ahlul bidah amongst the Raafidha (Shiites), the Khawaarij and other than them, so if others eat from their utensils, they declare it impure. [Footnote b- refer to detail at the end of this article regarding falsehood of the khawaarij and Raafidha, as well as the fiqh regarding utensils]

As for that which many people do (without any sound proof from the texts of the Sharee’ah), such as one who commands a menstruating woman that she must change or wash the first clothing she wore whilst she was on her menses, or forbids a person who is in a state of Janaabah from eating or drinking until he takes a shower (or bath), these opinions are often that of those who resemble those Jews who went astray; rather they resemble the Samaritans.

As for those who resemble the Christians [i.e. those Christians who strayed after abandoning the path of the Messiah and disbelieved in Muhammad], it is for example the affair of the one who has a good suspicion regarding that which is impure, such as those who are in toilets- places of the devils and impurity – and defiled with urine. He neither performs wudhu nor does he take a bath, nor shower after being in a state of Janaabah, neither perform the Salaah nor prays in a state of ablution, whilst knowing that it is known by necessity in the religion that the five daily prayers are obligated on every person and that one has to make Wudhu if he is a state of Hadath and should take a bath when in a state of Janaabah, and cannot perform Tayammum when he is able to make wudhu. (1)

Footnote A: The Ruling On Water:

Narrated Abū Saʿīd al-Khudrī: Allāh’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم (said: “Water is pure and nothing can make it impure.” Narrated Abū Umāma al-Bahīli: Allāh’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم (said: “Water cannot be rendered impure by anything except something which changes its smell, taste and colour.

If you have a bowl of water and something fell into that water and either the colour, the smell or the taste of the water changed as a consequence, this bowl of liquid can no longer be considered water, and whatever has fallen in it can either be pure or impure.

For example, if you have a bowl of water and you poured some orange squash in it, the colour of the water would become orange, the taste would change and be orange flavoured, and as a consequence, this liquid can no longer be called water. Similarly, a hundred tea bags in water will change the colour to brown, the smell and taste will be different as well, as a consequence it will be tea, not water. Even though tea and coffee are pure, the substance itself has affected the water to such a degree that the smell, taste and colour no longer resemble water, therefore it is no longer water and has changed due to something pure being added into it.

If the water has changed to such a degree that it can no longer be termed water then you cannot use it to make wuḍūʿ.

If you have a large amount of water, for example, a bath tub of water, and you drop in a small amount of squash, 100ml. This small amount will not create a significant change in the water, and neither the colour, smell or taste will change. If a small amount of a pure substance falls into the water, the consistency of the water does not change; it is still water and can be used for purification. If you have a big bath tub of water and drop something impure into it, for example, five litres of urine, the colour and the smell would be different, [and not that you would check, but the taste would also be altered]. It will become impure because the substance that fell in it was an impure substance. However, if you have a big bath tub of water and you have a small bottle sample of urine, and you get a pen and dip it into the urine and then put the pen in the bathtub, a few drops of urine will go in. But, the colour, taste and smell will not change. The three characteristics have not changed, can it be used for purification?

Narrated ʿAbdullāh ibn ʿUmar (raḍī Allāhu ʿanhu): Allāh’s Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم (said: “If there is enough water to fill two pots (Qulla), it carries no impurity.” Another version has: “It does not become unclean.”
Here the scholars differ because this Ḥadith indicates when the volume of water gets to a certain amount then dropping things into it does not render it impure.

Some say if the water has reached that quantity of qullatain, then after that even if impurity falls into it, it does not become impure (i.e. if it is below the level of qullatain it is instantly considered as impure). This is not the strongest opinion but it is an opinion.

Other scholars say when water reaches that large volume, when impurity falls into it, typically, it would not change the water’s characteristics. The correct opinion however, is that when there is a small amount of water and impurity falls into it, then it is very likely that the three characteristics will change. Whereas with large amounts of water, typically they won’t. The Ruling on Utensils:

Narrated Abū Thaʿlaba al-Khushni (raḍi Allāhu ʿanhu): I said “O Allāh’s Messenger! We are living in a land inhabited by the People of the Scriptures; can we take our meals in their utensils?” He said, “If you can get utensils other than theirs, do not eat in theirs, but if you cannot get other than theirs, wash them and eat in them” [Agreed upon].

It is allowed under two conditions:
a.That there is no other alternative
b.You must wash it before using

Narrated ʿImrān ibn Ḥussayn (raḍi Allāhu ʿanhu): The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم (and his Companions performed wuḍūʿ[ablution] from a water skin container belonging to a polytheist woman [Agreed upon].

This Ḥadīth is an excerpt from a longer Ḥadīth. The story is that on one occasion, they were on a journey and their water ran out, so the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم (sent ʿAlī (raḍi Allāhu ʿanhu and another man to find some water. They soon came across a woman on a camel who had two water skins with her, so they asked her where the water was from, and she replied that the source of the water was a distance of 24 hours away.

So they asked her to come with them to the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم .(She came to the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم (and he took a small amount of water from each of the water skins, made duʿāʾ and spittled into it. Allāh put barakah in the water that he had taken out such that the whole battalion made wuḍūʿ and there was still extra to drink.

There are few examples narrated where similar miracles have taken place. In one narration, in one of the battles in Ṭabūk, they ran out of all of their provisions and the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم (asked them all to bring what they had from the small items remaining. The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم (then made duʿāʾ and the provisions were made sufficient for everybody.

What is the purpose of the narration? The vessels of the disbelievers are not permissible. But the other narration shows that he took water from the disbelieving Muslim woman.

What we understand from this, is that it is mentioned in ṣīrah, at the end of battles they would come across the war booty, and there would have been vessels present. The Muslims also used to trade in clothes with non-Muslims, and it is not mentioned in the ṣīrah that the Muslims would thoroughly wash the clothes and utensils obtained in battle and trade before using. Therefore, it indicates that the default with the clothes and utensils which are sold by the kuffār, is that they are actually pure.

Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān says that the aṣl is that the utensils of the kuffār are, by default, pure as long as you do not know of any impurity.

However, the first narration the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم (said only if you can’t find anything else, and even then you have to wash it first. As for the ṣīrah of Abū Thaʿlaba then, and Allāh knows best, when a Ḥadīth gives a command or prohibition, as in the first Ḥadīth, the prohibition, by default equals ḥarām, but then we said that sometimes you may come across other evidence, which when put together, highlight that the command here does not intend it to be wujūb. Instead due to other evidence, it is actually mustaḥabb. It is not an outright prohibition and indicates that it is not obligatory to have to wash the items out before using; it is only mustaḥabb to wash them out.

If there is a kāfir owned restaurant which sells ḥalāl food, then you can use their utensils as you have no doubt about what has been in them since they don’t serve alcohol or pork.

Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-Fawzān mentions that if you do not know of any impurity, then the utensils and clothes of the kuffār are pure by default, and you can use them without washing; however, if you know of an impurity then you have to wash it. Therefore, the correct opinion is what the majority of the scholars say, and that is that the products of the kuffār, by default, are pure, and the only time it would be a problem is when you know they have been using it for something impure. Medication For Those Who Still Experience Butterflies in The Stomach or Chest Flutters When Islam, The Pure Sunnah and Salafi Path Are Detailed and Made Distinct

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “There’s no good thing except that he [i.e. the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) has urged the person towards it and there is no evil except that he warned the Ummah against it”.

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] commented on the above statement, saying: “This is correct, because indeed good is something one seeks to do, therefore he clarified it specifically and urged a person towards it. And regarding evil, we say, ‘There is no evil except that he warned against it’ and he [Shaikhul Islaam] did not say, ‘There’s no evil except he (i.e. the Messenger) has clarified it [i.e. in detail]’, because there are evil affairs which he clarified (in detail) and warned against, and there are evil affairs which he did not clarify (in detail), rather he warned against it in general. For example, fornication, killing a person (i.e. without a justified reason based on the sharee’ah) and what is similar to these deeds are manifest evils; and Bidah is a manifest evil, but did he mention every Bidah specifically by its description in a text or rather mentioned in general? Answer: They are mentioned in general and warned against. The distinction between (evil) and good is that good is something one seeks to do, therefore it is in need of being clarified specifically – clarify every affair so that we do it, unlike evil because it is something to be abandoned, therefore sometimes it is mentioned in detail and sometimes in general. The Categories of People And Their Knowledge of Good and Evil

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:

Allaah [The Most High] said:[ وَكَذَٲلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلۡأَيَـٰتِ وَلِتَسۡتَبِينَ سَبِيلُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ – And thus do We explain the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in detail, so that the way of the Mujrimun (criminals, polytheists, sinners) become manifest. [Surah Al-An’aam. Aayah 55]

Those who know Allaah, His Book and His Religion are acquainted with the path of the believers and that of the criminals in detail- the two paths are clearly visible to them, just as a path leading to its destination and the path leading to destruction are made clearly visible. They are the most knowledgeable amongst the creation- the ones who benefit [the people] the most, the ones with the most useful advice and they are an evidence of right guidance. This is why the Sahaabah have excelled all those to come after them until the Day of Judgment, for indeed they were brought up upon the path of misguidance, shirk and paths leading to destruction, and they knew them in detail; then the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] came to them and took them out from darkness [an entered them] into complete light- from shirk into Tawheed; from ignorance into knowledge; from misguidance into guidance; from injustice into justice; from confusion and blindness into guidance and clear-sightedness. They knew the worth of that which they received and were triumphant by way of it. [They knew the worth] of that which was contained in what they [received], since what is in opposition to the [truth and right guidance] reveals the goodness of what it opposes, because [upright] affairs are made clear by way of their opposites. So they increased in desire and love of that which they embraced, disliked and hated that which they had turned away from. And of all the people, they had the most love for Tawheed, Imaan and Islaam, and had the most hatred for that which was in opposition to it. They were the most knowledgeable of the path in detail.

As for those who came after the Sahaabah, amongst them is that one who was brought up in Islaam but knows not what is in opposition to it. Therefore, some of the details of the path of the believers and that of the criminals became confusing to him, for indeed confusion occurs due to the weakness of one’s knowledge regarding both paths or one of them, as Umar Ibnul Khattaab [radiyallaahu-anhu] said: “The bonds of Islaam will be undone one after the other when a people who grew up in Islaam know not what Jaahiliyyah [Pre-Islamic Ignorance] is.’’ This [statement shows an aspect of] Umar’s perfect knowledge [of Islaam].

And there is that one who is neither acquainted with the path of the criminals nor has it been made clear to him, or he has doubts and thus thinks that some of their ways are from the ways of the believers. This has occurred in this Ummah in many affairs of Aqeedah, Knowledge and Action regarding the path of the criminals, the disbelievers and the enemies of the Messengers, [which] was brought into the path of the believers by the one who does not know the [detailed distinction between] the path of believers and the path of the criminals, so he called to [this path], excommunicate the one in opposition and declares lawful that which Allaah and His Messenger made unlawful, just as what has occurred with many of the people of bidah, such as the Jahmiyyah, the Qadariyyah, the Khawaarij, the Rawaafid and their ilk- among those who initiated an innovation, called to it and excommunicated those who opposed it.

The people are four categories in this subject matter [i.e. the obligation of having knowledge of the path of the believers and that of the criminals in detail].

The First Group: They are those who know the path of the believers and that of the criminals in detail-in both knowledge and action. They are the most knowledgeable amongst the creation.

The Second Group: They are those who are blind to both paths- those resembling animals. The path of the criminals comes [to them] and they follow it.

The Third Group: It is that one who concerns himself with (seeking) knowledge of the path of the believers and not its opposite. He only knows (the path of the criminals) by way of its opposition to the (path of the believers) and in a general way, and [holds] that all that is in opposition to the path of the believers is falsehood, even though that is not illustrated to him in detail. Rather, when he hears some of that which contradicts the path of the believers, he turns away and does not preoccupy himself in understanding and knowing its falsity. This person is in a state (similar) to one who is safeguarded from following desires- whose heart is neither put at risk nor is he called to (such desires), as opposed to those who are aware of (such desires) and their souls are inclined towards them, but they strive against it for the Sake of Allaah. A letter was written to Umar Ibnul Khattaab (radiyallaahu-anhu) and he was asked about this affair, as to which of the two men is the better- a man who is not put at risk by way of desires and does not go through its difficulties, or a man who is pushed towards it but abandons it for the Sake of Allaah? Umar (radiyallaahu-anhu) wrote back saying: The one who is desirous of sin but abandons it for the Sake of Allaah is from ‘those whose hearts Allaah has tested for piety. For them there is forgiveness and a great reward.’ [Surah Hujuraat. Ayah: 3]

The Fourth Group: This group knows the path of evil, bidah and kufr in detail and the path of the believers in general. This is the situation of many of those who concern themselves with the beliefs of the previous nations and that of the people of bidah. They are acquainted with (these affairs) in detail, but not with what the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) came with; rather they are acquainted with it in general even though they may know some of its affairs in detail. Whoever examines their books will see that. Likewise, those who know the paths of evil, oppression and corruption in detail and are followers of it; if they repent, abandon these (affairs) and return to the path of the pious believers, then their knowledge of it will only be general. They will not be acquainted with it in that detailed manner known to those who spend their lives (studying) its regulations and ways.

The Objective: Indeed, Allaah (Glorified be He) loves that one should know the path of His enemies in order to avoid and hate it, just as the path of the His awliyaa (close friends) is known and followed. (2)

Some Circumstances In Which Giving Detail And Distinction Becomes Mandatory

The Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: [فإنه من يعش منكم فسيرى اختلافا، فعليكم بسنتي – Indeed the one who lives long amongst you will see differences; so upon you is to (adhere) to my Sunnah].

Imaam Abu Haatim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: This is clear evidence that the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-sallam) commanded his Ummah to know the Du’afaa amongst them and (distinguish) them from the Thiqaat. That is because the Sunnah cannot be adhered to alongside the lies and falsehood mixed with it, except by way of knowing the Du’afaa and (distinguishing them) from the Thiqaat (reliable narrators or scholars). (3)

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee [may Allaah preserve him] stated, “It is obligated on the people of truth to exercise patience and increase in adhering to this religion of truth. Whenever the desires become abundant, it becomes necessary to increase in acquainting (oneself) with the truth and adhering to it, as the Messenger (alayhis salaatu was-salaam) said: ‘The one who lives long amongst you will see a lot of differences, so upon you is that you follow my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided khulafaa. Bite onto it with your molar teeth (i.e. hold onto it firmly) and beware of newly invented matters (in the religion), for every newly invented matter (in the religion) is a bidah and every bidah is misguidance’”. (4)

Hudhaifah Bin al Yamaan [radiyallaahu anhu] said: ‘’People used to ask the Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] about the good times, but I used to ask him about bad times fearing lest they overtake me. I said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah! We were in a state of pre-Islamic ignorance and evil, and then Allaah brought us this good [time through Islam], is there any evil time after this good one?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ I asked, ‘Will there be a good time again after that evil?’ He said, ‘Yes, but therein will be a hidden evil.’ I asked, ‘What will be the evil hidden therein?’ He said, ‘[That time will witness the rise of] the people who will follow ways other than mine and seek guidance other than mine. You will know [their] good points as well as [their] bad points.’ I asked, ‘Will there be an evil time after this good one?’ He said, ‘Yes. [A time will come] when there will be people standing and inviting at the gates of Hell. Whosoever responds to their call they will throw them into the fire.’ I said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah! Describe them for us.’ He said, ‘They will be a people having the same complexion as ours and speaking our language.’ I said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah! What do you suggest if I happen to live in that time?’ He said, ‘You should stick to the main body of the Muslims and their leader.’ I said, ‘If they have no [such thing as the] main body and have no leader?’ He said, ‘Separate yourself from all these factions, though you may have to eat the roots of trees [in a jungle] until death comes to you and you are in this state.’’’ [Bukhari and Muslim…. The wording of the above is that of Imaam Muslim]

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] stated: They used to ask him [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] about the good related to righteous actions, affairs of the correct Islamic creed and dealings, but Hudhaifah used to ask him [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] about the evil times fearing lest they overcome him. Therefore, in this is evidence that it is not enough to only learn about the good; rather one must know about the evil in order to avoid it. If you do not know about the evil, you will come close to falling into it, as the poet said: ”I acquaint myself with the evil not for the sake of evil, but to be safeguarded from it. The one who does not know [the distinction between] evil and good will fall into evil.

A person must learn about the truth-its proofs and evidences. He must learn and know what falsehood is and the doubts associated with it, in order that he can be saved from falsehood and warn people against it. How can he avoid and warn people against it if he is unaware of it? And with regards to this, the Qur’aan has clarified truth and falsehood; it has clarified Eemaan and Kufr, Tawheed and Shirk, and Halaal and Haraam. It has not only clarified Tawheed, Halaal and truth; rather it clarified that which is in opposition to them, so that the Muslim can avoid them.

Likewise, the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam]- in his Sunnah- clarified good and evil, truth and falsehood in all affairs of the religion. The scholars [may Allaah have mercy upon them] clarified – in their written works- what Tawheed, Shirk, disbelief and hypocrisy are. They have clarified the belief of Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa-ah and the beliefs of the deviated sects, such as the Jahmiyyah, the Mutazilah, the Ashaa-irah…..and other than that.

They have clarified the correct and forbidden [deeds related] to mutual dealings. They have clarified the correct [Islamic] marriage, the false and corrupt marriage and the women forbidden [for one to marry]. They have clarified the [good manners legislated in the sharee’ah] and the evil manners that are in opposition to it. All of this gives the Muslim an insight into his affairs, so that he knows the truth by its evidences, knows what falsehood is and the doubts associated with it, in order that he can avoid falsehood and tell the people avoid it.

This is why you find in the books of belief: clarification of the belief in Tawheed and the belief of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa-ah, clarification of the beliefs [that are tantamount] to misguidance, the doubts associated with it and refutation against it, in order that the Muslim is not misled by beliefs [that are tantamount to] deviation, false beliefs and deviated schools of thought; and in order that the Muslims can be upon a correct understanding with regards to the affairs of their religion and that which is in opposition to it.

Some of the people at present- the majority of them ignorant ones and amongst them misguided ones- say, “Do not learn about the false beliefs; suffice yourselves with learning the correct belief only and do not involve yourself in seeking to know the beliefs of the people of misguidance and the refutations against their doubts. Leave this and teach the children of the Muslims the correct belief only. Do not inform them about the statements that are in opposition [to the truth], the doubts and refutation against them.” This one [i.e. the one who makes these statements] is either one of the ignorant people who knows nothing about knowledge or he is one of those motivated by personal desires-those who want to spread the false schools of thought and their doubts; rather it may be that they say, ‘’It is sufficient for a person to say, ‘I am a Muslim; I am a believer….. a general Islaam suffices, do not say, ‘Ahlus Sunnah wal Jamaa-ah, [do not say], ‘the people of misguidance, splitting and differing; do not say this, because it will cause division between the Muslims.’’’

These [statements are tantamount to] misguidance because Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] has clarified the truth in opposition to falsehood, guidance in opposition to misguidance and Tawheed in opposition to shirk. Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] has clarified all the affairs of the Religion- a detailed clarification of the affairs related to worship, mutual dealings and manners. Therefore, this must be clarified in order that it is made clear to the people, [and in order] that they can be upon clarity, and so that the true Muslim is distinguished from the so-called Muslim and no deviation and forgery enters into Islaam. We must make a distinction between this and that one, in order that truth is not confounded with falsehood, and [in order] to distinguish between truth and falsehood, and [between] good and wickedness. We do not suffice ourselves with a general Islaam because this is misleading, and it is deception. We warn against this propaganda. The truth must be clarified and distinguished from falsehood, and guidance must be distinguished from misguidance. Hudhaifah [radiyallaahu-anhu] used to ask the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] about the evil and did not suffice himself by only asking the Prophet about the good. The Prophet affirmed that for him and did not say to him: ”Suffice yourself with knowing what good is’’ rather he [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] affirmed and clarified- for him- the evil that was to occur, in order that he may beware and warn others. This is the Sunnah; this is the path of the Qur’aan and that of the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam]. (5)

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “It is obligated on you to give detail and make a distinction, because unrestricted and general [statements] without clarification has indeed corrupted this existence [i.e. the world], and misguided the intellects and views [of the people] in every era”.

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] said: There has to be detail explanation. (6)

What Is As-Salafiyyah?

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] stated:

Salafiyyah is to follow the Madhab of the Salafus Saaleh [pious predecessors] – the Sahaabah, the Taa’bi’een and the virtuous generations. Allaah [The Most High] said:

[وَٱلسَّـٰبِقُونَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُهَـٰجِرِينَ وَٱلۡأَنصَارِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُم بِـإِحۡسَـٰنٍ۬ رَّضِىَ ٱللَّهُ عَنۡہُمۡ وَرَضُواْ عَنۡهُ – And the first to embrace Islaam of the Muhaajiroon (those who migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah) and the Ansaar (the citizens of Al-Madinah who helped and gave aid to the Muhaajiroon) and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allaah is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him].

And Allaah [The Most High] said about the Sahaabah:

[إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَهَاجَرُواْ وَجَـٰهَدُواْ بِأَمۡوَٲلِهِمۡ وَأَنفُسِہِمۡ فِى سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاوَواْ وَّنَصَرُوٓاْ أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ بَعۡضُہُمۡ أَوۡلِيَآءُ بَعۡضٍ۬‌ۚ – ‘Verily, those who believed, and emigrated and strove hard and fought with their property and their lives in the Cause of Allaah as well as those who gave (them) asylum and help, – these are (all) allies to one another [8:72] – up to His statement- [وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدُ وَهَاجَرُواْ وَجَـٰهَدُواْ مَعَكُمۡ فَأُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ مِنكُمۡ‌ۚ – And those who believed afterwards, and emigrated and strove hard along with you, (in the Cause of Allaah) they are of you].

Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all Imperfections] said in Surah Al -Hashar:

(And there is also a share in this booty) for the poor emigrants, who were expelled from their homes and their property, seeking Bounties from Allaah and to please Him. And helping Allaah (i.e. helping His religion) and His Messenger (Muhammad). Such are indeed the truthful (to what they say); And those who, before them, had homes (in Al-Madinah) and had adopted the Faith, love those who emigrate to them.” [59:8-9]- up until His [The Most High] statement: [وَٱلَّذِينَ جَآءُو مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَا وَلِإِخۡوَٲنِنَا ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِٱلۡإِيمَـٰنِ – And those who came after them say: “Our Lord! Forgive us and our brethren who have preceded us in Faith].

The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: ”This ummah will split into seventy three sects; all of them will enter the fire except one. (F.1) They said, ‘which is that (saved sects) O Messenger of Allaah? He replied: ‘those who are upon that which I and my companions are upon today.” The Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: ”Adhere to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided Khulafaa after me”.

Therefore, Salafiyyah is the Methodology that has been obligated on us to follow and we are to abandon all other methodologies that are in opposition to it. The [people of Salafiyyah] are the saved sect, Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaa-ah, and they are the aided group till the Day of Judgement (F 2). May Allaah include us amongst them.

However, ascription to this methodology [of the Salaf] requires [an acquisition of] knowledge of its fundamentals in order that the Muslim may adhere to it. [One is] required to have knowledge of the other methodologies that are in opposition to Salafiyyah in order to avoid them. Therefore, Salafiyyah upon the path of the pious predecessors has to be [followed] upon knowledge and clear sightedness. It is not enough for the person to ascribe himself to [salafiyyah] whilst being ignorant of it or being in opposition to it. For that reason Allaah [The Most High] said:[ وَٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُم بِـإِحۡسَـٰنٍ۬ – And also those who followed them exactly (in Faith)].

They follow [them] with knowledge- they neither fall into extremism nor negligence. They neither exaggerate nor fail to give the affair its right- like those who ascribe themselves to the madhabs of the four imams [Abu Haneefah, Maalik, Shaa-fi’ee and Ahmad] whilst being in opposition to them in Aqeedah and Ibaadaat. And like the one who ascribes himself to the methodology of the Salaf, yet he either declares the Muslims to be disbelievers or rebels against the Muslim rulers, or he follows other directions towards extremism. This person is not a Salafi, rather he is named a khaariji or a Mutazili. Or like the one who ascribes himself to the methodology of the salaf, but speaks with the statement of the Mur’ji’a in the affair of Eemaan and Kufr. This is not Salafiyyah.

Therefore, it is obligatory to pay attention to this affair and not to mix the Salafi methodology with the other methodologies that are in opposition to it, and then say: ”all these methodologies [including the Salafi methodology] are not from Islaam.” This is recklessness in speech, an oppressive judgement and deception against the people. (7)

Ascribing (oneself) to the Muslim Ummah is a fundamental principle affirmed (or established) in the (Islamic) legislation. The Muslims are a just and balanced nation [i.e. those amongst them (upon a balanced path- neither being lackadaisical nor exceeding the limits ordained by Allaah and His Messenger)].

Allaah said:

Thus We have made you [true Muslims – real believers of Islamic Monotheism, true followers of Prophet Muhammad and his Sunnah (legal ways)], a Wasat (just) (and the best) nation, that you be witnesses over mankind and the Messenger (Muhammad) be a witness over you. And We made the Qiblah (prayer direction towards Jerusalem) which you used to face, only to test those who followed the Messenger (Muhammad) from those who would turn on their heels (i.e. disobey the Messenger). Indeed it was great (heavy) except for those whom Allah guided. And Allah would never make your faith (prayers) to be lost (i.e. your prayers offered towards Jerusalem). Truly, Allah is full of kindness, the Most Merciful towards mankind. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Verse 143]

They are the best of all nations. [Allaah (The Most High) said]:

كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ

You [true believers in Islamic Monotheism, and real followers of Prophet Muhammad and his Sunnah (legal ways, etc.)] are the best of peoples ever raised up for mankind; you enjoin Al-Ma’ruf (i.e. Islamic Monotheism and all that Islam has ordained) and forbid Al-Munkar(polytheism, disbelief and all that Islam has forbidden), and you believe in Allah. [Surah Aal Imran. Verse 110]

They are followers of a single religion agreed upon by all the Prophets (F.3). They ascribe themselves to it and unite upon it. [Allaah (The Most High)] said: [إِنَّ هَٰذِهِ أُمَّتُكُمْ أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً وَأَنَا رَبُّكُمْ فَاعْبُدُونِ – Truly! This, your Ummah [Sharia or religion (Islamic Monotheism)] is one religion, and I am your Lord, therefore worship Me (Alone)]. [Surah All-Anbiyaa 92]

This your religion (of Islamic Monotheism) is one religion, and I am your Lord, so keep your duty to Me]. [Surah Al-Mu’minoon. Verse 52]

The believers are brothers in Religion and they give allegiance to one another. [Allaah (The Most High)] said: [إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ فَأَصْلِحُوا بَيْنَ أَخَوَيْكُمْ ۚ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ – The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islamic religion). So make reconciliation between your brothers, and fear Allah, that you may receive mercy]. [Surah Al-Hujuraat Ayah 10]

Allaah named us Muslims:

And strive hard in Allah’s Cause as you ought to strive (with sincerity and with all your efforts that His Name should be superior). He has chosen you (to convey His Message of Islamic Monotheism to mankind by inviting them to His religion, Islam), and has not laid upon you in religion any hardship, it is the religion of your father Ibrahim (Abraham) (Islamic Monotheism). It is He (Allah) Who has named you Muslims both before and in this (the Qur’an), that the Messenger (Muhammad) may be a witness over you and you be witnesses over mankind! So perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), give Zakat and hold fast to Allah [i.e. have confidence in Allah, and depend upon Him in all your affairs] He is your Maula (Patron, Lord, etc.), what an Excellent Maula (Patron, Lord, etc.) and what an Excellent Helper! [Surah Al-Hajj Ayah 78]

And from the branches (or aspects) of this ascription is ascription to Salafiyyah [i.e. the way of the pious predecessors], for indeed there is no hindrance (or prohibition) from (ascribing oneself to that); rather ascription to Salafiyyah is an ascription to Islaam based on what the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) and his companions were upon. Yes, (or certainly) it is not permissible that ascription to Salafiyyah is made to mean a party [of illegal partisanship] -(establishing) love and hate based on other than what the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) and his companions were upon, for indeed this is blameworthy and it is the meaning of (that) detestable partisanship.

Ascription to Islaam is (done in order to differentiate oneself from the followers of) other religions; ascription to the Sunnah (is done in order to differentiate oneself) from Bidah and the Shiites; ascription to Salafiyyah (is done in order to differentiate oneself from) the Innovated Dawah Methodologies, which are followed by the followers of the different (deviant) groups. So the Muslim needs to say about himself that he is a Muslim, Sunni, Salafi. (8)

Categorizing The People and Attributing Them to Their Creeds

Categorising the people and attributing them to their creeds, religions and characteristics – with respect to [passing] judgement and [establishing] principles – is neither an innovated nor a new [aspect] of knowledge; rather it is knowledge of Jarh Wat Tadeel that will not cease in this Ummah as long as night and day exists. Whoever seeks to extinguish the light of this discipline for sake of his Hizb [party] or out of fearing for his beloved ones – those who have been disparaged justifiably – then indeed he is a misguided person and one who misguides others. Categorising the people based on truth and clear-sightedness is a protection for the religion ordained by Allaah. It is a soldier among the soldiers of Allaah [i.e. in this case it is a safeguard given to this Ummah] by way of which the distortions of those who go beyond bounds, the false claims of the falsifiers [or liars] and the false interpretations of the ignorant ones are repelled, [and likewise] the deviations of the innovators, the plots of the Khawaarij and all the [deviant] sects that emerge from the Ummah. (9) As for those who are followed- those who set up principles of bidah and call the people to their bidah and misguidance, then indeed they are marked with the bidah they innovated and call the people to, and for them there is no honour. (10)

Who Initiates Splitting In The Ummah?

Al-Allaamah Zaid Bin Haadee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: The Mubtadi [innovator in religious affairs] is the cause for the splitting [in the Ummah], because splitting is connected to innovation and unity [upon the sound creed and methodology of the Salaf] is connected to the Sunnah.  The obligation of refuting the Mukhaalif [the opposer of the truth] is not lifted from the scholar due to anticipation of harm, unless it is harm he is not able to bear.  Then [in this case], Allah does not burden a soul beyond what it can bear.  The earth is not devoid of people of knowledge who will carry out refutation against the Mubtadi and the obstinate opposer of the truth. (11)

Allaah [The Most High] said: [ أَفَمَن زُيِّنَ لَهُ سُوءُ عَمَلِهِ فَرَآهُ حَسَنًا – Is he, then, to whom the evil of his deeds made fair seeming, so that he considers it as good (equal to one who is rightly guided)?] [Surah Faatir; Ayah 8] Sa’eed Bin Jubair [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “This was revealed concerning the people of bidah and desires”. (12)

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: The Salaf named Ahlul Bidah Wal Furqah [i.e the people of Bidah and Splitting]- those who oppose the Book and the Sunnah- ahlul ahwaa [the people of desires], because of the fact that they accept what they love and reject what they hate based on their desires without guidance from Allaah. (13)

Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَلَا تَرۡكَنُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ فَتَمَسَّكُمُ ٱلنَّارُ -And incline not toward those who do wrong, lest the Fire should touch you]]. [Surah Hud: Ayah 113]

Al-Allaamah Rabee bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee [may Allaah preserve him] said: The word [ظلم –wrong] in [this ayah] can [mean] disbelief; it can mean bidah and it can be [فسوق  i.e. sinful, immoral behaviour], because (ظلم) can be applicable to all [i.e. in different contexts]. Therefore, we refrain from inclining towards the evil doers, the people of bidah, the Kuffaar, the Ilmaaniyyoon and other than them. And we protect ourselves, our Aqeedah, the Eemaan and sound religion which Allaah has bestowed on us.

It is enough for us to remember that the Salaf fled from Fitan – not mixing, sitting and debating with the people of Fitan. And even amongst them, such as the likes of Ayyoub As-Sakhtiyaanee and Ibn Seereen did not listen to the speech of those [people of bidah]. And when Ibn Seereen was asked,  “Why do you not speak; why do you not listen to them?” He said, “Indeed, my heart is not in my hands! I am not in control of my heart; I fear for myself that I may be misguided”. So the likes of these Imaams feared fitna and deviation for themselves; but you the Miskeen possess that bravery to enable you to challenge ahlul bidah….!!! Many people say, “We sit with ahlul ahwaa [i.e. the people of desires] and we take [from them]; we distinguish between truth and falsehood; we take what is truth and abandon falsehood”, whilst he [i.e. the utterer of this speech] is a Miskeen who can neither distinguish between truth and falsehood nor is he in control of his heart. How many a young person has been put to trial through this satanic view and thus he [becomes] degraded, reverts back on his heels [into misguidance] and depraved, and Allaah’s Aid is sought. He falls prey in the arena of the people of fitan! Therefore, it is obligated on a student of knowledge not to [regard] himself safe from ahlul bidah, for indeed he is not more knowledgeable than Ayyoub and Ibn Seereen, nor can he reach their station [in knowledge, piety etc] and those who followed them. (14)

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Madkhalee [may Allaah preserve him] said: By Allaah! Islaam and the [affairs of the] Muslims are not ruined except by these categories of [people] amongst the people of bidah and misguidance-the khawaarij and those similar to them, and those who are worse, such as the rawaafid [i.e. Shiites of Iran and those upon their beliefs]. The rawaafid are worse than the khawaarij, and Ikhwaan al-Muslimoon (i.e. the sect -the Muslim brotherhood in Egypt and elsewhere) ally with them and they say: “They (rawaafid) are our brothers; the differing between us and them is like the differing between (Imaam) Maalik and (Imaam) Shaafi’ee;” meaning: The differing between us (i.e. Ikhwaan Muslimoon) and them (i.e. rawaafid shiites) is based on ijtihaad, and if Imaam (Maalik) and (Imaam) Shafee’ee differ in (some) affairs, they are all rewarded; and if we (ikhwaan al-muslimoon) differ with the rawaafid shiites, then us and them are rewarded.

O deceivers! [i.e. Ikhwaanis] The rawaafid (shiites) revile the Sahaabah and declare them disbelievers; they revile the wives of the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallaam); they say that the Qur’aan is distorted; they (rawaafid) have shir’kiyyaat (beliefs and acts of major polytheism) and they deify the leaders of the Prophet’s family. So does all of this not harm them (i.e. harm their claim to Islaam); is this not irjaa?! (i.e. O Ikhwaanis! Is this alliance of yours with the rawaafid and that the differing between you and them is like the differing between Imaams Maalik and Shaafi’ee not Ir’jaa?!) (15)

Shaikhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: Indeed Ahlul Bidah are more evil than the people of sinful desires and [this is confirmed by way of] text and Ijmaa (consensus of the scholars); for indeed the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) commanded that the khawaarij are to be fought [i. e. by the Muslim ruler], but he (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) forbade (us) from fighting the oppressive rulers. And he (sallal laahu alayhi wasallam) said about the man who drank alcohol [i.e. the one who was brought to the Messenger due to drunkenness (F 4): “Do not curse him, for indeed he loves Allah and His Messenger”; but he (sallal laahu alayhi wasallam) said about Dhul Khuwaysirah: A people will appear from this man, who will recite the Qur’aan but it will not go beyond their throats and they will exit the religion as an arrow passes through a target. You will belittle your prayer compared to your prayer, your fasting compared to their fasting and your recitation of the Qur’aan compared to their recitation. Kill them wherever you find them [i.e. whenever they come out to fight, the Muslim ruler should rally his armies against them, because indeed there is a reward on the day of judgement for the one who kills them. (16)

Ibn Abbaas [may Allaah be pleased with him and his father] said: Do not sit with the people of desires [i.e. ahlul bidah], for indeed sitting with them will cause sickness to the hearts. (17)

Imaam Ahmad [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: Beware of writing down [knowledge] from one of the people of desires-be it a little or a lot. (18)

A Final Blast Against The Hizbiyyoon – The Proponents of Illegal Partisanship and False Unity

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Madkhali [may Allaah preserve him] said: After speaking about those who make Takfeer based on falsehood amongst the different factions of the Jahmiyah, the Khawaarij, the Rawaafid and the Qadariyyah, and the reason behind such Takfeer, Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] stated: “On the opposite side of these people who make Takfeer based on falsehood, there are a people who do not know the creed of Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaa’ah as it should be; or they know some of it and are ignorant of some. And perhaps what they know of it, they do not clarify for the people, rather they conceal it. And neither do they forbid innovations that is in opposition to the Book and the Sunnah nor censure Ahlul Bidah and punish them; rather perhaps they would censure speech regarding the Sunnah and the fundamental principles of the religion – completely – and would not differentiate – in that – between what Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah say and what Ahlul Bidah Wal Furqah [The people of innovation and splitting] say; or they would affirm all their differing Madhabs [creeds etc] in a manner similar to how the scholars would affirm the different opinions related to affairs of Ijtihaad (F.5) in which difference of opinion is justified [or allowed]. This path has overwhelmed many of the Murji’ah, some of the jurists, those pursuing the path of asceticism and the philosophers, just as it has overwhelmed – first and foremost – many amongst the people of desires and rhetoric. Both these paths are perverted, outside the Book [i.e. The Qur’aan] and the Sunnah”.  [End of Quote From Shaikhul Islaam (rahimahullaah)]

Firstly, ponder upon the above statement of Shaikhul Islaam [rahimahullaah] and then read Shaikh Rabee’s [hafidhahullaah] commentary as follows! Al-Allaamah Rabee says, “I say, may Allaah have mercy on Ibn Tamiyyah. Indeed, he clarified the situation of the people of his era and those before them; then what if he saw the situation of many amongst the Al-Jamaa’aat Al-Hizbiyyah Wal-Bid’iyyah [The Groups of Illegal Partisanship and Bidah (F.6) who ascribe themselves to Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaa’ah and take cover behind him- in particular – to promote [spread, disseminate] their falsehoods. What if he saw them whilst they have definitely gathered between the Madhabs of the two groups- the khawaarij and those who follow their way in pronouncing Takfeer in the subject matter of Al-Haakimiyyah (F.7) and the way of the Mur’jiah (F.8) in the manner they approach the affair of people who are upon the big and numerous bidah, and equating Bidah to those affairs of the religion in which Ijtihaad is justified -whose people are rewarded alongside a refutation against their mistakes. In the view of these people, the leaders of Misguidance and Bidah are just like the Imaams of Guidance and Sunnah. [Al-Mukhtaaraat Al-Bahiyyah Min Kutub Shaikh Al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah. By Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadee and arranged by Shaikh Khaalid Adh-Dhufayree. Pages 62-63]

Secondly, ponder upon this statement of Shaikh Rabee [hafidhahullaah] as follows: “In the view of these people, the leaders of Misguidance and Bidah are just like the Imaams of Guidance and Sunnah”, and then read this article by Shaikh Abu Iyaadh [hafidhahullaah]: http://www.themadkhalis.com/md/series/the-false-comparison-between-hadith-giants-ibn-hajar-an-nawawi-and-20th-century-ignoramuses.cfm

Finally, Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyah [rahimahullaah] said: Rather what is obligatory is to clarify that which Allaah sent His Messengers with and (revealed) in His Books; propagate that which the Messengers brought from Allaah and fulfil the covenant which Allaah took from the scholars. Therefore, it is obligatory to know that which the Messengers brought, believe in it, propagate it, call to it, striving with it, weigh up all that which the people embark upon – [statements, actions, religious fundamentals and subsidiary issues pertaining to the apparent actions of the Limbs and affairs related to actions of the heart]- under the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger; neither following desires [through] customs, a school of law, a religious order, a leader or a predecessor; nor following conjecture through a weak hadeeth or corrupt analogy, regardless whether it is an analogy that offers some degree of certainty or not; or blindly following someone whom it is not obligated to follow his statement and action; for indeed Allaah -in His Book – has censured those who follow conjecture and that which their souls desire, whilst they abandon following that which came to them from their Lord of Guidance. [Majmoo Al-Fataawaa 12/467-468]

Footnote 3: The Religion of all the Prophets and Messengers is one:

Allaah [The Most High] said: [شَرَعَ لَكُم مِّنَ الدِّينِ مَا وَصَّىٰ بِهِ نُوحًا وَالَّذِي أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ – ’He (Allah) has ordained for you the same religion (Islam) which He ordained for Nuh (Noah), and that which We have inspired in you (O Muhammad)].

Allaah mentions the first Messenger who was sent after Aadam, that is Nooh [peace be upon him] and the last of them is Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him]. Then Allaah mentions those who came in between them who were the Messengers of firm resolve, namely Ibraaheem, Musa and Isa Bin Maryam – [وَمَا وَصَّيْنَا بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَىٰ ۖ أَنْ أَقِيمُوا الدِّينَ وَلَا تَتَفَرَّقُوا فِيهِ ۚ كَبُرَ عَلَى الْمُشْرِكِينَ مَا تَدْعُوهُمْ إِلَيْهِ  – and that which We ordained for Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses) and ‘Iesa (Jesus) saying you should establish religion (i.e. to do what it orders you to do practically), and make no divisions in it (religion) (i.e. various sects in religion). Intolerable for the Mushrikun , is that to which you (O Muhammad) call them].

This above verse mentions all five (Prophets and Messengers), just as they are also mentioned in the verse in Surah Al-Ahzaab, where Allaah says:

[وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ مِيثَاقَهُمْ وَمِنكَ وَمِن نُّوحٍ وَإِبْرَاهِيمَ وَمُوسَىٰ وَعِيسَى ابْنِ مَرْيَمَ – And (remember) when We took from the Prophets their covenant, and from you (O Muhammad), and from Nuh (Noah), Ibrahim (Abraham), Musa (Moses), and ‘Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)].

The Message which all the Messengers brought was to worship Allaah Alone, with no partner or associate, as Allaah says: [وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَا مِن قَبْلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِي إِلَيْهِ أَنَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنَا فَاعْبُدُونِ – And We did not send any Messenger before you (O Muhammad) but We inspired him (saying): La ilaha illa Ana [none has the right to be worshipped but I (Allah)], so worship Me (Alone and none else)].

And according to a Hadeeth [the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said]: ‘’We Prophets are brothers and our religion is one’’. [Fat’hul Baari 6:550] In other words, the common bond between them is that Allaah Alone is to be worshipped, with no partner or associate, even though their laws may differ, as Allaah said: [لِكُلٍّ جَعَلْنَا مِنكُمْ شِرْعَةً وَمِنْهَاجًا – To each among you, We have prescribed a law and a clear way].

Muhammad Is The Final Messenger and The Qur’aan Abrogates all Others Previous Laws

Allaah (The Most High) said: [[مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَا أَحَدٍ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمْ وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ اللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّينَ ۗ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمًا – Muhammad is not the father of any man among you, but he is the Messenger of Allah and the last (end) of the Prophets. And Allah is Ever All-Aware of everything].

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen (rahimahullaah) stated in Sharh Mumti that [the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)] being the seal of the Prophets necessitates that he is the seal of the Messengers and that is due to the fact that ‘Every Messenger is a Prophet whereas not every Prophet is a Messenger’. [For further details see Sharh Mumti 1/250]

The Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) also said: “By the One in Whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, there is not one of this nation, Jew or Christian, who hears about me and dies without believing in what I have been sent, except that he will be one of the dwellers of Hell fire.” [Reported by Muslim’ Number 153]

The Qur’aan Abrogates All Other Previous Laws

Allaah (The Most High) said:

And We have sent down to you (O Muhammad) the Book (this Qur’an) in truth, confirming the Scripture that came before it and Mohayminan (trustworthy in highness and a witness) over it (old Scriptures). So judge between them by what Allah has revealed, and follow not their vain desires, diverging away from the truth that has come to you. To each among you, We have prescribed a law and a clear way. If Allah willed, He would have made you one nation, but that (He) may test you in what He has given you; so strive as in a race in good deeds. The return of you (all) is to Allah; then He will inform you about that in which you used to differ. [Surah Al-Maa’idah Ayah 48]

Reminder By Imaam As-Sadi regarding the above Verse

The Qur’aan gathers all the (good, excellence) in the previous books (i.e. before they were distorted). The Qur’aan contain an increase in all that will lead to the pleasure of Allaah in this life and the next, and the (most beloved and honourable) manners. The Qur’aan gathers every truth found in the other books, and it commands and urges mankind towards it. The Qur’aan is a book that gives news about the earlier and later generations. It contains (perfect) judgements and (perfect) wisdom. Whatever the Qur’aan declares to be truth in the previous Books is to be accepted, and whatever it rejects has to be rejected because it would be something that has been distorted and substituted by those who received it. etc [Tayseer Al-Kareem Ar-Rahmaan Fee Tafseer Kalaam Al-Mannaan]

Footnote 4: Ruling on the one who drinks alcohol: Anas (radiyallaahu-anhu) narrated that the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) flogged the one who drank wine with palm branches stripped of their leaves and with shoes. The Most Dangerous Liars In Society – By Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Amongst the categories of the liars are the Munaafiqoon and they are a people more dangerous for the society, especially the Islamic society; so due to this Allaah spoke about them a lot, warned against them a lot and made known their characteristics in chapters of the Qur’aan; rather there is an independent chapter of the Qur’aan called Sooratul Munaafiqeen. Allaah [تبارك وتعالى ] exposed them, unveil their shame, hypocrisy and lies. And from that which Allaah stated about them is: [وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَبِٱلۡيَوۡمِ ٱلۡأَخِرِ وَمَا هُم بِمُؤۡمِنِينَ – And of mankind, there are some (hypocrites) who say: “We believe in Allah and the Last Day” while in fact they believe not] – Meaning, they are liars.

They (think to) deceive Allah and those who believe, while they only deceive themselves, and perceive (it) not! In their hearts is a disease (of doubt and hypocrisy) and Allah has increased their disease. A painful torment is theirs because they used to tell lies. And when it is said to them: “Make not mischief on the earth,” they say: “We are only peacemakers.”

Look at this big claim! They are the ones who make mischief, but they perceive not]. Every liar and corrupt person in the earth does not tell the people that he is a corrupt person; rather he says, “I am one who rectifies the affairs” and claims that he leads the Ummah to righteousness. In summary, indeed Allaah made known their lies and deception, and that this lie increases them in sickness – and Allaah’s Refuge is sought, they are from the people of hypocrisy and they are increased in hypocrisy. Allaah [تعالى ] said: [أَلَمۡ تَرَ إِلَى ٱلَّذِينَ تَوَلَّوۡاْ قَوۡمًا غَضِبَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡہِم مَّا هُم مِّنكُمۡ وَلَا مِنۡہُمۡ وَيَحۡلِفُونَ عَلَى ٱلۡكَذِبِ وَهُمۡ يَعۡلَمُونَ – Have you (O Muhammad) not seen those (hypocrites) who take for friends a people upon whom is the Wrath of Allah (i.e. Jews)? They are neither of you (Muslims) nor of them (Jews), and they swear to a lie while they know. [Surah Al-Mujaadilah. Aayah 14]

They made an oath to the believers that they are indeed believers, whilst they are Munaafiqoon, liars and allies of the Yahood [i.e. those yahood to abandoned the path of Musa and reject Muhammad]..
Allah has prepared for them a severe torment. Evil indeed is that which they used to do].

[ٱتَّخَذُوٓاْ أَيۡمَـٰنَہُمۡ جُنَّةً۬ – They have made their oaths a screen] – Meaning, for their lies;

Thus they hinder (men) from the Path of Allah, so they shall have a humiliating torment. Their children and their wealth will avail them nothing against Allah. They will be (the) dwellers of the Fire, to dwell therein forever. On the Day when Allah will resurrect them all together (for their account), then they will swear to Him as they swear to you (O Muslims). And they think that they have something (to stand upon). Verily, they are liars! Shaitan (Satan) has overtaken them. So he has made them forget the remembrance of Allah. They are the party of Shaitan (Satan). Verily, it is the party of Shaitan (Satan) that will be the losers! Those who oppose Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad), they will be among the lowest (most humiliated). Allah has decreed: “Verily! It is I and My Messengers who shall be the victorious.” Verily, Allah is All-Powerful, All-Mighty. [Surah al-Mujaadilah. Verses 15-21]

Allaah made known the state of affairs of these people, exposed them, made it known that they are liars and described their actions to be evil. And due to their state of loss, they took these oaths and swearing by Allaah as a screen.. ..Allaah said:

When the hypocrites come to you (O Muhammad), they say: “We bear witness that you are indeed the Messenger of Allah.” Allah knows that you are indeed His Messenger and Allah bears witness that the hypocrites are liars indeed. They have made their oaths a screen (for their hypocrisy). Thus they hinder (men) from the Path of Allah. Verily, evil is what they used to do. That is because they believed, then disbelieved, therefore their hearts are sealed, so they understand not. And when you look at them, their bodies please you; and when they speak, you listen to their words. They are as blocks of wood propped up. They think that every cry is against them. They are the enemies, so beware of them. May Allah curse them! How are they denying (or deviating from) the Right Path. And when it is said to them: “Come, so that the Messenger of Allah may ask forgiveness from Allah for you”, they turn aside their heads, and you would see them turning away their faces in pride. It is equal to them whether you (Muhammad) ask forgiveness or ask not forgiveness for them. Verily, Allah guides not the people who are the Fasiqin (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). [Surah Al-Munaafiqoon. Verses 1-6]

Allaah testified that they are liars; even if they testified to the Messengership of Muhammad and that Allaah alone has the right to be worshipped, they are still liars and do not believe in that. Allaah exposed them, because He knows their reality- the disbelief and hypocrisy they hide in their hearts. Allaah made it known that they disbelieved and believed thereafter, then they disbelieved finally; and Allaah made it known that they do not understand and that even if Allaah’s Messenger – the most virtuous amongst the creation – sought forgiveness for them, they will not be forgiven and Allaah will not guide them to Eemaan and the truth due to their [wilful] wickedness and evil. And there maybe hypocrites in the Ummah who have these characteristics and thus receive this recompense from Allaah. Unfortunately, some people think that hypocrisy has ended, whilst in reality it is something that will continue. Hudhaifah [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, “The hypocrites at present are more evil than the hypocrites during the era of Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam]”, so he was asked about this, then he said, “Indeed, the hypocrites used to hide their hypocrisy and these people at present make it manifest”. Whenever time elapses, they become many amongst the groups of ahlul bidah, and burden Islaam and the Muslims with their evil, plots and hypocrisy; and all of that is done under the guise of Islaam and in the name of Islaam. Many of ahlul bidah or many innovations – in the past and thereafter – related to belief and affairs of shirk are from their plots and cunning ways. So, let the Muslims be careful of these hypocrites and infiltrators within the innovated groups. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0BMdgvMDBI

“Do Not Touch My Clothes” Campaign! [Gentle Reminder to Some Women From Central Asia]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Do Not Touch My Clothes Campaign!

[Gentle Reminder to Some Women From Central Asia] Who Recently Reveal Adornments to The World In The Name of Cultural Heritage]

They say, “Do not touch my clothes!” Say to them, “The affair is not about your Cultural Clothes, but the affair is about your level of understanding and fear of your Lord”.

Recently, some women – after seeing their fellow sisters wearing Jilbaabs and the Niqaabs in a Muslim country, they protested and launched a campaign to promote the traditional colourful garments worn by women folk in their country. Their justification for doing this is that they are concerned that the world would think that the Jilbaab and Niqaab is their traditional clothing, and that they don’t want their heritage and culture to be misrepresented. So, they started a social media hashtags #DoNotTouchMyClothes# and thus other gullible women quickly began posting photos of themselves wearing colourful traditional clothing and smiling for the camera. They claim that in their culture, they were loose chiffon headscarf that reveals the woman’s hair and that the women of their nation and culture do not dress in Jilbaab and Niqaab, rather they wear colourful clothing which they showed the world. https://www.dailysabah.com/world/asia-pacific/afghan-womens-dont-touch-my-clothes-hashtag-gains-momentum

Firstly, what we remind these women is that the Jilbaab is a command of their Lord and a command of their Messenger. Read here: https://www.abukhadeejah.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Veil-of-the-Muslim-woman-Hijaab-1.pdf

Secondly, as for the Niqaab, there is a difference of opinion regarding whether it is obligatory or not. Read here:https://www.abukhadeejah.com/the-niqab-for-the-muslim-woman-uncovering-her-face-and-hands-and-displaying-her-beautifications/

Therefore, these women are mistaken for seeking to tell the world that the Jilbaab is not what the women of their nation should wear if they are Muslim women who are truly obedient to Allaah in this affair; rather it would have been permissible for them to say that there is a difference of opinion regarding whether the Niqaab is Waajib or not.

Thirdly, regarding the colourful traditional clothing of the women of their nation and culture, then indeed there is nothing wrong with that; rather what is blameworthy is displaying their beauty on social media, smiling for the camera and revealing their adornments. It is haraam to display themselves in this manner in public let alone to the world. Their Lord [Allaah] says:

And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent (like palms of hands or both eyes for necessity to see the way), and to draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, necks and bosoms, etc.) and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband’s fathers, their sons, their husband’s sons, their brothers or their brother’s sons, or their sister’s sons, or their (Muslim) women (i.e. their sisters in Islam), or the (female) slaves whom their right hands possess….

And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And all of you beg Allah to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful. [Surah An-Nur. Verse 31]

Therefore, the affair is not about whether the Jilbaab is from their culture or not, but rather to dress in the manner commanded by their Lord is obligatory. The Arabs also had their traditions and heritage, but after submitting to the command of Allaah and His Messenger, they avoided everything – in their culture and heritage – that violated the command of Allaah and His Messenger. So, we say to these sisters, “Your colourful clothing should only be revealed -in private -to your husbands, fathers, husband’s fathers, sons, husband’s sons, brothers, brother’s sons, sister’s sons, or your sisters in Islam”. Finally, it is important that a Muslim understands that cultural practices are only permissible when they conform to the command of Allaah and His Messenger, and the goal of the Muslim and Muslimah is to respond to the command of Allaah and His Messenger. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَجِيبُوا لِلَّهِ وَلِلرَّسُولِ إِذَا دَعَاكُمْ لِمَا يُحْيِيكُمْ ۖ وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَحُولُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهِ وَأَنَّهُ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ

O you who believe! Answer Allaah (by obeying Him) and (His) Messenger when he calls you to that which will give you life, and know that Allaah comes in between a person and his heart (i.e. He prevents an evil person to decide anything). And verily to Him you shall (all) be gathered. [Surah Al-Anfaal. Verse 24]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated regarding this noble verse: So the verse includes all these affairs because Imaan, Islaam, the Qur’aan and Jihaad gives the hearts a good life [i.e. upright guidance] and a perfect life in Paradise, and the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] is a caller to Imaan and Paradise; so he is a caller to life in the life of this world and the hereafter.

The life of the body: It enables the person to be conscious of what benefits and harm, so he chooses that which benefits over what harms him. When deprived of this, he is affected by pain and weakness. And due to this, the life of the sick person, the grief stricken, the one afflicted with anxiety, distress, fear, poverty and humiliation is inferior to the life of the one protected from that.

The life of his heart and soul: It enables the person to distinguish between truth and falsehood, between going stray and being led aright, so he chooses the truth and not its opposite. This life benefits him with the strength to distinguish between benefit and harm in affairs of knowledge, intent and action. It benefits him with strength of Imaan, intent, love for the truth and the strength to abhor falsehood. Therefore, self-consciousness, discernment, love and aversion is [judged in accordance with] what one possesses of this life [of the heart and soul], just as the [state] of the body that is alive is [judged in accordance with] its self-consciousness and perception of what is of benefit and what brings about pain- its inclination towards what benefits and aversion towards that which causes pain is greater.

Therefore, [the first affair] is regarding the life of the body and the [other one] is about the life of the heart. The discernment of the heart ceases when the life of the heart [i.e. upright guidance] ceases. And even if it possesses an aspect of discernment, it will not have the strength by way of which it chooses what benefits over harm [i.e. in an upright manner]. And just as the human being cannot have life [i.e. physically] until the Angel blows the soul into him – because prior to this one was lifeless; likewise is the life of his soul and heart until the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] conveys to him the revelation.

Allaah said: [ يُنَزِّلُ الْمَلاَئِكَةَ بِالرُّوحِ مِنْ أَمْرِهِ عَلَى مَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ – He [Allaah] sends down the angels with [Rooh (i.e. revelation)] of His Command to whom of His slaves He pleases (i.e. the chosen Messengers)].

Allaah said: [ وَكَذَلِكَ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ رُوحًا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا مَا كُنْتَ تَدْرِي مَا الْكِتَابُ وَلاَ الإِيمَانُ وَلَكِنْ جَعَلْنَاهُ نُورًا نَهْدِي بِهِ مَنْ نَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا – And thus We have sent to you (O Muhammad) Roohan (an Inspiration, and a Mercy) of Our Command. You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith? But We have made it (this Qur’aan) a light wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will].

Therefore, life [i.e. physical life] is made possible through the angel sent by Allaah to blow the soul into a person and [life of the heart through upright guidance is made possible through] the advent of the human Messenger. So, whoever receives the Rooh [i.e. the physical soul] brought by the Angel Messenger and the Rooh [i.e. revelation conveyed by the human Messenger] will receive two types of life. The one who receives the Rooh [physical soul], but not the [Rooh – revelation conveyed the human Messenger], he will receive one type of life and will miss the other. Allaah said: [أَوَمَنْ كَانَ مَيْتًا فَأَحْيَيْنَاهُ وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُ نُورًا يَمْشِي بِهِ فِي النَّاسِ كَمَنْ مَثَلُهُ فِي الظُّلُمَاتِ لَيْسَ بِخَارِجٍ مِنْهَا – Is he who was dead and We gave him life and set for him a light whereby he can walk amongst men, like him who is in the darkness from which he can never come out?]

Therefore, he is given both light and life, just as the one who turns away from the [Book of Allaah] receives both death [i.e. a misguided heart] and darkness [i.e. misguidance]. Ibn Abbaas [radiyallaahu-anhu] and all the Mufassiroon said: Such a one [i.e. the one who is guided] used to be an unbeliever, so Allaah guided him.

And regarding the statement of Allaah: [وَجَعَلْنَا لَهُ نُورًا يَمْشِي بِهِ فِي النَّاسِ – And set for him a light whereby he can walk amongst men]. This includes a number of affairs: One of them is that he walks amongst the people with light, whilst the people are in darkness; so his example and theirs is like that of a people who got lost during nightfall and they could not find their way, whilst he had light whereby he could walk in the road, and whereby he could see as well as see what he is to be cautious of. The second affair is that he walks amongst them with his light, so they borrow from it due to their need of it. The third affair is that he walks with his light on the day of judgement on the bridge of As-siraat, whilst the people of Shirk and Nifaaq remain in the darkness of their Shirk and Nifaaq.

And regarding the statement of Allaah: [وَاعْلَمُوا أَنَّ اللَّهَ يَحُولُ بَيْنَ الْمَرْءِ وَقَلْبِهِ وَأَنَّهُ إِلَيْهِ تُحْشَرُونَ – And know that Allaah comes in between a person and his heart (i.e. He prevents an evil person to decide anything). And verily to Him you shall (all) be gathered].

The First Explanation Regarding This Above Aayah: It is well known that Allaah is the one who intervenes between the believer and disbelief, and between the disbeliever and Eemaan, between the people of obedience and their disobedience to Him, and between the people of disobedience and their obedience to Him. This is the saying of Ibn Abbaas and that of the majority of the Mufassiroon.

The Second Explanation is that Allaah is close to the heart of the human [by His knowledge] and no secret is hidden from Him. This was mentioned by Al-Waahidiy from Qataadah. And it appears that this statement [reported from Qataadah] is more in conformity with the context [of the Ayah (i.e. ‘And know that Allaah comes in between a person and his heart]; because the basis of this Istijaabah [i.e. responding to the call of Allaah and His Messenger] is by way of the heart. A bodily response is of no benefit without the response of the heart; because Allaah comes between a person and his heart and knows whether the person has responded to Him with his heart or hides the opposite of that.

And concerning the first saying [i.e. the saying of Ibn Abbaas and the majority of the Mufassiroon], it is with regards to the fact that if you turn away from [responding to the call of Allaah and His Messenger], you will not be safe and thus Allaah comes between you and your hearts as a punishment for abandoning [this response] after the truth had been explained and made clear. So, you will be like what (has been mentioned) in the statement of Allaah: [ وَنُقَلِّبُ أَفْئِدَتَهُمْ وَأَبْصَارَهُمْ كَمَا لَمْ يُؤْمِنُوا بِهِ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ – And We shall turn their hearts and their eyes away (from guidance), as they refused to believe therein for the first time]. [6:110]

And Allaah said: [فَلَمَّا زَاغُوا أَزَاغَ اللَّهُ قُلُوبَهُمْ – So when they turned away (from the Path of Allaah), Allaah turned their hearts away (from the Right Path)].[61:5] And Allaah said: [فَمَا كَانُوا لِيُؤْمِنُوا بِمَا كَذَّبُوا مِنْ قَبْلُ – But they were not such as to believe in that which they had rejected before]. This verse is a warning against [failing to respond] with the heart even if response had been made by way of the limbs. (1)

Therefore, let us be careful of promoting cultural practices and heritage that opposes the command of Allaah and His Messenger. Fear of Allaah is the basis of virtue and not cultural practices or heritage. Allaah [The Most High] said: We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has the most fear of Allaah. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware]. [Surah Al-Hujuraat. Aayah 13]

[لِتَعَارَفُوا – that you may know one another]: Meaning: So that you may know one another and how close you all are to one another in lineage, but not out of boastfulness. Then Allaah informed us that the most elevated amongst them [i.e. the children of Aadam] are those who fear Allaah the most. The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: “Learn your lineages so that you can maintain ties of kinship. (2)

Ascription to a tribe and a nation is affirmed in Islaam. The companions of the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] used to ascribe themselves to their tribes and their people in the presence of the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him], and he never disapproved of that. (3)

The Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: Indeed, Allaah [The Most High] has removed from you the pride of the pre-Islamic period and its boasting about ancestors. One is only a pious believer or a wretched sinner. You are sons of Adam and Adam (was created from) dust. Let the people abandon boasting about their ancestors, for they are merely fuel in Jahannam; or they will become more insignificant in (the sight of) Allah than the beetle which rolls dung with its nose. (4)

The Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, ‘’Whoever is held back by his deeds, his (nobility) of lineage will not push him forward.” (5) Imaam Nawawi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, ‘’Its meaning is that the one whose deeds are deficient and he does not catch up with the performers of (good) deeds, then it is obligatory upon him not to crown himself with nobility of lineage and the virtues of his forefathers, whilst he is lagging behind in (performing good) deeds.” (6)

Imaam Ash-Shaatibee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated in Al-Muwaafaqaat that customs are many different types- some are good and others are corrupt. The good customs are those that neither oppose the Sharee’ah texts nor lead to losing an affair deem to be beneficial by the Sharee’ah, nor lead to an affair which the Sharee’ah deems to be corrupt. As for the corrupt customs, they are those that oppose the evidences in the Sharee’ah or some of the principles of the Sharee’ah, such as some of the customary dealings in usury and those deeds deemed to be evil by the Sharee’ah which the people engage in during occasions of happiness (or rejoicing etc). (7)

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: Hardship is only encountered by the one who abandons the Ma’loofaat and Awaa’id [i.e. those habitual things, deeds, practices, customs etc] for other than the sake of Allaah. As for the one who abandons them truthfully and sincerely from the bottom of his heart- for the sake of Allaah alone- then indeed he does not encounter any difficulty due to abandoning them except in the beginning, in order that he is tested as to whether he is truthful or untruthful in abandoning them? If he exercises a little bit of patience, its [i.e. that abandonment] will alternate into pleasure. Ibn Seereen said that he heard Shurayh swearing by Allaah that “A servant does not abandon anything for the sake of Allaah and finds a loss in that.” And their statement [i.e. the people of knowledge] that ‘whoever abandons something for the Sake of Allaah, Allaah will replace it with what is better.” This is true. This compensation is of different types and the best of that which a person is compensated with is: the desire and yearning to get close to Allaah, seeking after Allaah’s pleasure, love of Allaah, and the heart granted-by way of it- tranquility, strength, enthusiasm, happiness and being pleased with its Lord [The Most High]. (8)

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: It is obligated on every Muslim that he does not depend on custom; rather he presents it to the pure Islamic legislation [to be judged], so whatever the Islamic legislation affirms is permissible and whatever it does not affirm is impermissible. The customs of the people are not proof to determine the lawfulness of anything. All the customs of the people in their countries or tribes must be presented to the Book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] for judgement, so whatever Allaah and His Messenger made permissible is permissible, and whatever they forbid, then it is obligatory to abandon it even if it is the custom of the people. (9)

Imaam Muhammad Bin Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: The customs cannot make something that is not legislated (in the divine revelation) as something legislated, because of Allaah’s statement: [وَلَيۡسَ ٱلۡبِرُّ بِأَن تَأۡتُواْ ٱلۡبُيُوتَ مِن ظُهُورِهَا – It is not Al-Birr (piety, righteousness, etc.) that you enter the houses from the back] [Surah Al-Baqarah. Aayah 189], despite the fact that it was something they took as their custom and considered it to be an act of righteousness. Whoever takes something as a custom and believes that it is an act of righteousness, then it should be presented to Allaah’s divine legislation. (10)

Imaam Muhammad Bin Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] also said: Extremism in related to customs is stringent adherence to old customs and not diverting to what is better than them. As for if the customs are equal in benefit [i.e. the ones judged to be permissible by the divine legislation], then a person remaining upon what he is upon would be better than going along with the new (or emerging) customs. (11)

May Allaah guide us all to what pleases Him and protect us from the plots of His enemies – those who call the Muslims to oppose the Sharee’ah of Allaah in the name of freedom, liberty, progress and freedom, because indeed the wordly life is a prison for the believer and a paradise for a disbeliever. May Allaah protect us and our families from every falsehood Aameen.

Pretty Privilege!!! Absolute Nonsense!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “A woman is married for four (reasons/things); her wealth, her family status, her beauty and her religion. So you should take possession of the one with Religion, otherwise you will be a loser”. [Saheeh Al-Bukhaari 5090]

Some women have started complaining about the impossible beauty standards that burden women – cheekbones, slim, angular faces with big features, fat-freezing cosmetic procedure etc. The women who blindly follow this path are regarded beautiful and attractive, regardless whether they are righteous or not; rather as long as they are considered more attractive based on what a group of women exploiters consider to be the beauty standard, they are given an advantage – Pretty Privilege!!! Indeed, our scholars have spoken about this affair and warned against it. Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “We find that at present our enemies are focused on women issues. [They focus] on adorning women, intermingling them and make them share the same occupations with men, until it becomes as if the people are donkeys having no other concern except for their stomachs and canal desires, and Allaah’s Refuge is sought! Women are portrayed as if they are mere images, that is: pictures (which) people attached no importance to except that which is connected to the woman’s figure (outward appearance). See how they have decorated and beautified her! See how they have brought about beautifications for her and presented her in a desirable condition, in relation to (her) hair, skin, legs, arms, face and everything else; until they make it the most important issue for the woman, like a picture made out of plastic. They neither present to her the importance of establishing Ibaadah nor bearing children”. (1)

Al-Allaamah Khaleel Al-Harraas [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated in his Sharh of An-Nooniyyah of Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him]: After Imaam Ibnul Qayyim described the beauty and perfection of the women of Paradise so that one is drawn towards them, he warned against being deceived by the evil women of this worldly life-those who are deprived of every excellent trait. They are neither perfect in their physical appearances nor do they possess good actionsescribed the beauty and perfection of the women of Paradise so that one is drawn towards them, he warned against being deceived by the evil women of this worldly life-those who are deprived of every excellent trait. They are neither perfect in their physical appearances nor do they possess good actions. How can one be deceived by a woman who possesses ugly manners and is untrustworthy! How can one be deceived by a woman who neither fulfills her obligations nor does she possess patience! How can one be deceived by a woman who is neither contented nor is she obedient and humble [i.e. not obedient to Allaah in that which Allaah has commanded her to fulfil in marriage], and her deeds are ugly! Rather she is a female shaytaan disguised in the image of a human, so she deceives the despicable and depraved people who desire her because they are similar to her and are ready to obey her.

As for the people of goodness and virtue, she neither wants nor desires them because there are no similarities between her and them. She is deprived of everything that directs her towards good and prevents her from evil. She neither possesses the correct way of life ordained by Allaah and a sound moral intellect nor does she possess good manners and fear of Allaah. She does not possess natural beauty, rather her beauty is a falsified one that emanates from cosmetics. And when she leaves that beautification and embellishment the defects on her becomes apparent and she is deprived of everything that makes a person desirous of her. She is characterized with betrayal-neither grateful towards good companionship nor does she preserve and fulfill its rights.

Her beauty is a thin shell and underneath it are defects and ugly affairs. Her beauty resembles a fake coin plated with gold or silver, which one may consider to be a real gold or silver coin; but this counterfeit cannot be circulated amongst the money changers even though many people are deceived by it. (2)

Imaam Dhahabee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated that Salamah Bin Alqamah relates from Ibn Seereen (may Allaah have mercy upon him] who said, “Imraan Ibn Hattaan married a khaarijiyyah (a female khaarijite) and said, ‘I will bring her back’ (i.e. make her leave her misguidance). Ibn Seereen said, ‘However, she converted him to her way'”. (3)

As for who to give your daughter to, then indeed it is said, “Marry your daughter to a man who fears Allah. He will be kind if he loves her and will not oppress her when he is angry with her”. (4)

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “If a person says: What will make a man love his wife and vice versa? We say: Allaah has clarified this in His statement: [وَعَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ – And live with them honourably]. [Soorah An-Nisaa’ Aayah 19]

If every person lives with his wife honourably and vice versa, then love, a strong bond and a happy married life will be established. (5)

Allaah [The Exalted] said: [فَإِن كَرِهۡتُمُوهُنَّ فَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تَكۡرَهُواْ شَيۡـًٔ۬ا وَيَجۡعَلَ ٱللَّهُ فِيهِ خَيۡرً۬ا ڪَثِيرً۬ا – If you dislike them (i.e. your wives due to something ypu see in them)), it may be that you dislike a thing and Allah brings through it a great deal of good]. [Surah An-Nisaa. Verse 19]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: The person may dislike a woman due to a trait of hers, whilst there is a great deal of goodness in keeping her and he does not know it. He may love a woman due to a trait from her traits, whilst in keeping her there is much evil and he does not know it. The human being is as he has been described by his Creator; ”Verily, he (man) was unjust (to himself) and ignorant (of its results)’’ [Ahzaab: Verse 72]

Therefore, it is not befitting that he places his inclination, love, aversion and hatred as a measure for that which harms or benefits him, rather the measure is that which Allaah has selected for him of commandments and prohibitions. The most beneficial of affairs for him without exception is obedience to His Lord outwardly and inwardly [i.e. praiseworthy hidden deeds of the heart and apparent actions of the limbs], and the most harmful of affairs for him without exception is disobedience to his Lord outwardly and inwardly [i.e. evil hidden deeds of the heart and apparent actions of the limbs]. If he embarks upon sincere obedience and servitude to Him, then all that he comes across of that which he hates is better for him; and if he withdraws from obedience and servitude to Allaah [The Most High], then all that is in what he loves is bad for him. Therefore, whoever has a sound knowledge regarding his Lord and an understanding of His Names and Attributes, he knows with certainty that there are [affairs of advantage, great benefits, welfare etc] and useful (things) in those hated things that afflicts him and [in those] trials that befall him, which he cannot innumerate by way of his knowledge and contemplation; rather the [affairs of advantage, great benefits and welfare] for the slave are greater in that which he hates than in what he loves. The universally beneficial things for the souls are found in what they hate, just as the universally harmful things for the souls and the causes for their destruction are in what they love. (6)

Archaeologists Find Magnesia’s Zeus Temple Gate in Turkey: “Oh, What a Tremendous Thing!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency (AA), Kökdemir said Magnesia was a prominent city in ancient times with its religious festivals held in temples and sanctuaries. “We think that the temple we found in this area is as important in the history of architecture as the fourth largest Temple of Artemis in Anatolia. It is a temple dedicated to Zeus,” he said. He said the ancient area was previously excavated by Germans who took some pieces of the Zeus Temple to Germany, which are still on display at the Berlin Pergamon Museum. “Next year, we will reveal the origin of the structure, which is exhibited in the museum in Berlin. This is a tremendous thing. It is very important both for archaeological literature and tourism. So, we are very excited,” he said.

Who was Zeus? “Zeus, in ancient Greek religion, chief deity of the pantheon, a sky and weather god who was identical with the Roman god Jupiter. His name may be related to that of the sky god Dyaus of the ancient Hindu Rigveda. Zeus was regarded as the sender of thunder and lightning, rain, and winds, and his traditional weapon was the thunderbolt. He was called the father (i.e., the ruler and protector) of both gods and men”.

Therefore, Zeus was one of the Tawaagheet (false deities) of the Greeks! Professor Kökdemir says that finding a temple dedicated to the Zeus – a Taaghoot – “is a tremendous thing”. Indeed, no Muslim would consider this a tremedous thing because the Tawaagheet and those who worship/worshipped them are dwellers of the eternal fire. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And the true promise (Day of Resurrection) shall draw near (of fulfillment). Then (when mankind is resurrected from their graves), you shall see the eyes of the disbelievers fixedly stare in horror. (They will say): “Woe to us! We were indeed heedless of this; nay, but we were Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.).” Certainly! You (disbelievers) and that which you are worshipping now besides Allah, are (but) fuel for Hell! (Surely), you will enter it. Had these (idols, etc.) been aliha (gods), they would not have entered there (Hell), and all of them will abide therein. Therein breathing out with deep sighs and roaring will be their portion, and therein they will hear not. [Surah Al-Anbiyaa. Verses 97-100]

This is the reality O reader! As for the belief that Zeus is one of the sky gods, Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Or have they taken (for worship) aliha (gods) from the earth who raise the dead? Had there been therein (in the heavens and the earth) gods besides Allah, then verily both would have been ruined. Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Throne, (High is He) above what they attribute to Him! He cannot be questioned as to what He does, while they will be questioned. Or have they taken for worship (other) aliha (gods) besides Him? Say: “Bring your proof:” This (the Qur’an) is the Reminder for those with me and the Reminder for those before me. But most of them know not the Truth, so they are averse. And We did not send any Messenger before you (O Muhammad) but We inspired him (saying): La ilaha illa Ana [none has the right to be worshipped but I (Allah)], so worship Me (Alone and no one else).” [Surah Al-Anbiyaa. Verses 21-25]

Allaah [The Exalted] stated His disapproval of the polytheists [idolaters] – those who [worship things which they have taken as] gods in the earth, even though these [so called] gods are absolutely incapacitated and powerless. Neither are they are able to bring them back to life nor resurrect them, and this is further explained by the statement of Allaah:

وَاتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِهِ آلِهَةً لاَ يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْئًا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ وَلاَ يَمْلِكُونَ ِلأَنفُسِهِمْ ضَرًّا وَلاَ نَفْعًا وَلاَ يَمْلِكُونَ مَوْتًا وَلاَ حَيَاةً وَلاَ نُشُورًا

Yet they have taken besides Him other aliha (gods) that created nothing but are themselves created, and possess neither hurt nor benefit for themselves, and possess no power (of causing) death, nor (of giving) life, nor of raising the dead. [Surah Al-Furqaan. Verse 3]

And Allaah [The Exalted] said:

وَاتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً لَعَلَّهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
لاَ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُندٌ مُحْضَرُونَ

And they have taken besides Allah aliha (gods), hoping that they might be helped (by those so-called gods). They cannot help them, but they will be brought forward as a troop against those who worshipped them (at the time of Reckoning). [Surah Yaaseen. Aayaat 74-75]

A polytheist [or idolater] worships a created thing that can neither benefit nor harm, and he abandons sincere worship to Allaah – The One Who is Perfect [i.e. the only possessor of Perfect Names and Attributes; free from all weaknesses, shortcomings and imperfections], and in His Hand is the absolute control over all benefit and harm. This shows that a polytheist [or idolater] is not blessed [with guidance], his ignorance is clearly established as well as the severity of his unjust behaviour towards Allaah; for indeed it is only befitting that there is only one [true] deity, just as there cannot be except one [true] Lord. And because of this, Allaah [The Exalted] said:

لَوْ كَانَ فِيهِمَا آلِهَةٌ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَا فَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ

Had there been therein (in the heavens and the earth) gods besides Allaah, then verily both [i.e. the heavens and the earth] would have been ruined. Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Throne, (High is He) above what they attribute to Him! [Surah Al-anbiyaa. Aayah 22]- Meaning: Both the heavens and the earth would have been ruined as well the creation in them.

The heavens and the earth – as one can see – are in a perfect state, intact and in perfect order. Neither is there any defect in them and obstacles [to its perfect order] nor conflict in its organisation. Therefore, this shows that the One who controls and regulates its affairs is One- its Lord is one and the deity [under whose control they are maintained] is One. If it were the case that the heavens and the earth has two [deities] that control and regulate its affairs- two lords or more, then its perfect order would have been ruined and its foundations would have been undermined. That is because they would have been obstacles and opponents to one another; so if one of them wishes to plan and administer something and the other one wishes that it should not take place, then it would be impossible for both their wishes to be fulfilled. [On the other hand], the fulfilment of the wishes of one of them would have shown that the other one is weak and unable do whatever he wants; and it is impossible that both of them will agree on everything. Therefore, the wish of The Irresistible [i.e. Allaah- the only True Lord and besides Him every other deity is false]- is what will be fulfilled without anyone being able to prevent or repel it. And this is why Allaah [The Exalted] said:

مَا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ مِنْ وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُ مِنْ إِلَهٍ إِذًا لَذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَهٍ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلاَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ

No son (or offspring or children) did Allah beget, nor is there any ilah (god) along with Him; (if there had been many gods), behold, each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have tried to overcome others! Glorified be Allah above all that they attribute to Him! [Surah Al-Muminoon. Verse 91] (1)

Allaah [The Most High] said:

O mankind! A similitude has been coined, so listen to it (carefully): Verily! Those on whom you call besides Allah, cannot create (even) a fly, even though they combine together for the purpose. And if the fly snatched away a thing from them, they would have no power to release it from the fly. So weak are (both) the seeker and the sought. They have not estimated Allah His Rightful Estimate; Verily, Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty. [Surah Al-Hajj. Verses 73-74]

It is obligated on a servant [of Allaah] to pay attention-to this parable – with his heart and ponder upon it as it properly because it cuts off the desire of shirk. The gods worshipped by the idolaters cannot create even a fly, even if they all come to together to create it, then how about what is greater than it? They are neither able to create a fly which is one of the weakest animals, nor are they able to gain the upper hand against it to recover what it took away from them. There is nothing more disabled and feebler than them, so how can a sensible person deem it good to worship idols [or the things worshipped by the idolaters].

This verse nullifies shirk and shows the ignorance of its people. It is a testimony that Satan plays about with them more than kids play with a ball due to the fact that they assign Godhood to images and statues that are deprived of the ability to create the most insignificant creature of the True God, even if they [i.e. those statues and images] gathered and supported one another to do so, whereas Godhood necessitates having absolute power over all the existence, absolute knowledge of all sources of knowledge, having no need of all the creation, [whilst the creation is completely dependent] upon the Lord for their needs, for relief, [to remove their] distress and anxiety and [respond to their] invocations. (2)

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

The likeness of those who take Auliya’ (protectors and helpers) other than Allaah is as the likeness of a spider, who builds (for itself) a house, but verily, the frailest (weakest) of houses is the spider’s house, if they but knew. [Surah Al-Ankabut. Verse 41]

Allaah mentioned that they are weak and that those whom they take as protectors and helpers are weaker than them. So with regards to their weakness and their goal behind taking others as protectors and helpers besides Allaah, they are similar to a spider that builds a house and it is the frailest and weakest of houses. Based on this parable, the Mushrikoon become much weaker when they take others as protectors and helpers besides Allaah, and they do not benefit from those they take as protectors and helpers besides Allaah, just as Allaah stated [in another verse]:

وَٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةً۬ لِّيَكُونُواْ لَهُمۡ عِزًّ۬ا
كَلَّا‌ۚ سَيَكۡفُرُونَ بِعِبَادَتِہِمۡ وَيَكُونُونَ عَلَيۡہِمۡ ضِدًّا

And they have taken (for worship) Aaliha (gods) besides Allah, that they might give them honour, power and glory (and also protect them from Allah’s Punishment etc.). Nay, but they (the so-called gods) will deny their worship of them, and become opponents to them (on the Day of Resurrection). [Surah Maryam. Verses 82-82]
And Allaah [The Most High] said:

وَٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ءَالِهَةً۬ لَّعَلَّهُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ
لَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ نَصۡرَهُمۡ وَهُمۡ لَهُمۡ جُندٌ۬ مُّحۡضَرُونَ

And they have taken besides Allaah Aaliha (gods), hoping that they might be helped (by those so-called gods). They cannot help them, but they will be brought forward as a troop against those who worshipped them (at the time of Reckoning). [Surah Yaa Seen. Verses 74-75]

And after mentioning the destruction of the nations of the Mushrikoon, Allaah said:

We wronged them not, but they wronged themselves. So their Aaliha (gods), other than Allah, whom they invoked, profited them naught when there came the Command of your Lord, nor did they add aught (to their lot) but destruction. [Surah Hud. Verse 101]

These four places in the Qur’aan show that the one who takes protectors and helpers besides Allaah- through whom he seeks to strengthen himself, behave arrogantly and prevail- will not achieve except the opposite, and there is a lot more about this affair in the Qur’aan. This is one of the finest parables and the clearest proofs regarding the falsehood of Shirk and the deprivation of the one who commits Shirk, and that he will achieve the opposite of what he seeks. (3)

Allaah gave this similitude regarding those who worship others alongside Him, seeking honour, strength and benefit by way of it; but Allaah says that the affair is the opposite of the goal they seek, because their likeness is that of a spider that builds a house to protect itself from the heat, cold and harm; but the frailest and weakest of houses is the spider’s house.

The spider is one of those weak animals and its house is one of the weakest of houses, and building its house does not increase it in anything except weakness. Likewise, this is the case regarding those who take protectors and helpers besides Allaah; they are in need and incapable in every way when they take protectors and helpers besides Allaah to seek honour and help by way of them; so they increase weakness on their weakness, and feebleness on their feebleness, because indeed they rely on them in many of their affairs related to their well-being and entrust it to them, refrain from achieving it themselves and [hoping] that these [so-called] protectors and helpers will fulfil it; but they forsake them- neither receive anything [useful, beneficial etc] nor the least [gain, benefit etc] from their help. Had they been acquainted with the reality of knowledge- their situation and that of those whom they take as protectors and helpers besides Allaah, they would not have done so; rather they would have freed themselves from them and take Allaah as Protector and Helper- The Lord Who is able to do all things, The One Who Bestows His Special Mercy to the Believers; Who – when a servant takes Him as a Protector and an Ally, He suffices him, looks after both his religious and worldly affairs, increase him in strength upon strength in his heart [i.e. Eemaan], his body [i.e. grant him ability to seek after what is beneficial etc], in all his circumstances and deeds. A Leopard Cannot Change Its Spots! [Why Delist Yemen’s Houthi Rawaafidh Criminals as a Terrorist Organization?]- A Judgement Based On Conjecture and Desires!

Allaah [The Exalted] said: [إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى ٱلۡأَنفُسُ‌ۖ – They follow but a guess and that which they themselves desire].

The one deprived of sound Eemaan and the sound creed sent down as revelation by Allaah- The Lord of the Aalameen, then his affair is one of two: Corruption in Knowledge or Corruption in his Intent– corruption in knowledge occurs as a result of following conjecture and corruption in one’s intent occurs as a result of following desires, or the person may combine both of them.

Another benefit derived from this is that the rectification or well-being of a person cannot be attained except by way of two affairs: Upright [or sound] Knowledge and Upright [or sound] Intent. This is why Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said in Miftaah Daarus Sa’aadah that a person is in need of two things: Sound Knowledge by way of which he is [rightly] guided and lofty aspiration by way of which he is urged towards that [sound aspiration]’, because it maybe that a person has beneficial knowledge but not [sound] intent and aspiration. Therefore, one cannot be upright except by way of upright knowledge and intent. Sound knowledge is corrupted through following conjecture and sound intent is corrupted through following the desires of one’s soul.

Allaah [The Exalted] stated about the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him]:

[مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمۡ وَمَا غَوَىٰ-Your companion (Muhammad) has neither gone astray nor has erred]. That is because the Daal [misguided person] is one whose knowledge is corrupted and the Ghaawiy [astray one] is the one whose intent is corrupted.

Also, the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] described his four khulafaa [Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthmaan and Ali (may Allaah be pleased with them)] with the words ‘Raashideen and Mahdiyyeen’, because the Raashid [i.e. The one who is steadfast upon the right path and is firmly established upon it] is the opposite of the Ghaawiy [The one who strays from the right path or conduct], and the Mahdee [The one guided to the path of truth and yeilds obediently to it] is the opposite of the Daalun [the misguided one, especially in knowledge and creed]. (1)

Claims Cannot Change Reality, Especially When An Affair is as Clear as The Midday Dun

Shaikh Abdullaah Bin Abdur Rahmaan Abaa Batayn [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: A Mushrik is a Mushrik, whether he accepts or denies it, just as a usurer is a usurer whether he accepts or denies it, even if he does not call what he does Ribaa. The drinker of alcohol is a drinker of alcohol, even if he calls it other than its name. It has been reported in a hadeeth that the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, “Indeed, a people from my Ummah will drink alcohol, [and] give it other than its [real] name”. [See brief explanation of hadeeth here by Al-Allaamah Zayd Bin Haadee [rahimahullaah]:https://salaficentre.com/2019/10/12/hadeeth-a-people-will-drink-alcohol-and-give-it-another-name-with-short-commentary-by-shaikh-zaid-rahimahullaah/ ]

Changing names can neither change the reality of the person [or the thing] nor does the ruling that apply ceases. When Adee Bin Haatim [radiyallaahu-anhu] heard the statement of Allaah: [ٱتَّخَذُوٓاْ أَحۡبَارَهُمۡ وَرُهۡبَـٰنَهُمۡ أَرۡبَابً۬ا مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ – They have taken their priests and monks as lords besides Allah] [Surah At-tawbah. Aayah 31], he said to the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam], “We did not worship them”, so the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said to him, “Do they not make forbidden that which Allaah has made lawful and you make it forbidden, and they make lawful that which Allaah has forbidden and you make it lawful?” So he [Adee] said, “Certainly”, so the Messenger said, “That is your worship of them”. Therefore, Adee [radiyallaahu anhu] did not think that being in agreement with them in such an affair was tantamount to worshipping them, so the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] informed him that it was tantamount to worshipping them, even though they did not believe that it was an act of worship devoted to them. Their Brief History of Violence, Terror and Vandalism!

Imaam Shaykaani [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated in the biography of Yahyah Ibn Muhammad Al-Hoothee: On the night of 24th Ramadhaan- in the year 1216AH [1802CE] – a great trial took place at Sana when some of those who openly demonstrated their allegiance to Ali [radiyallaahu-anhu] with extreme ignorance – whilst concealing their raafidah beliefs – gave Yahyah Ibn Muhammad Al-Hoothee the lecturing seat of those senior scholars who are well qualified to deliver admonitions. They commanded him to transmit Sayyid Ishaaq Ibn Yoosuf Al-Mutawakkil’s book titled ‘Tafreej Al-Kuroob’ to the common people, which was based on the subject matter of Ali’s [radiyallaahu-anhu] virtues. However, Yahyah Ibn Muhammad Al-Hoothee did not stop at transmitting what was in the book; rather he abused some of the Salaf [pious predecessors] in order to fulfil the goals of those who pushed him towards that intent and to diminish the worth of some of the people who work for the state [or government].

So, on the night of 24th Ramadhaan 1216AH, the common people attended the main city mosque as usual alongside some of those well-read men, who deserve to be charged with oppression because they are more ignorant than the common people [i.e. because they refrained from stopping evil]. When Yahyah failed to turn up at the designated time of the lecture – and that was to take place before the Ishaa prayer – some of the people in the mosque became agitated, began raising their voices with a tirade of cursing and prevented others from praying Ishaa. They were then joined by those who harboured treacherous intentions against the state – those who concealed the beliefs of the raafidah – and the common people.

Then they left the main city mosque and started shouting in the street- cursing the dead and the living [i.e. the people they hated] – and the crowd increased in their thousands. They proceeded to the house of the scholar Ahmad Haatim and threw stones at it. Then they proceeded to the house of Sayyid Isma’eel Ibn Hasan Shaamee and threw stones at it, and they went into extremes until they vandalised as much as they were able to.

Then they proceeded to Imaam Sharaf Ad-Deen’s school, whilst intending to kill him [Sharaf Ad-Deen]; but Allaah saved him and he escaped to where they could not perceive. They also intended to kill the scholar Ahmad Haatim, but he escaped from the main mosque and came to my house whilst we were transmitting from my explanation of Al-Muntaqaa in the presence of the some of the scholars.

Thereafter, those common people were still determined [to cause more trouble], so a group of them proceeded towards the house of Sayyid Ali Ibn Ibraaheem and threw stones at it. They evicted the women and children and violated their honour. And the only reason they stoned the house of Ali Ibn Ibraaheem was because during those days he used to deliver admonitions in the main city mosque and he was neither a raafidi nor one who cursed.

Then they were all determined once again, whilst shouting and proceeding towards the houses of the minister Al-Hasan Ibn Uthmaan Al-Ulfee and Al-Hasan Ibn Ali Hinsh. The two buildings were adjacent to each other, so they stoned both of them. And the only reason they stoned the house of Al-Hasan Ibn Uthmaan Al-Ulfee was because his lineage was traced back to Bani Umayyah [i.e. the clan of Abu Sufyaan, Uthmaan and Mu-aawiyyah (may Allaah be pleased with them)]. And they stoned the house of Hasan Ibn Ali Hinsh because he used to manifest the Sunnah and freed himself from the beliefs of the raafidah…..up until Imaam Shaykaani said: ‘’Indeed, they did that which neither a believer nor a disbeliever would do.’’ (3)

Harsh Shariah Punishments Violate Human Rights! [Vile Statement of Deviated So called Liberal Muslims- Stooges of Militant Secularists]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Harsh Shariah Punishments- [Language Used By So called Liberal Muslims- Stooges of The Militant Secularists]: Muslim Rulers Have Been Given Absolute Authority By The Creator to Establish The Shariah

Firstly, Who Has The Right to Judge What is to Be Regarded as Harsh, Lenient, Just or Unjust?!

It is well known amongst some of the people that Al-Wasat (the middle path) is only that which occupies the middle position between two things, and they do not take note of the meaning of this term as mentioned in the Magnificent Qur’aan and the (authentic) Prophetic Sunnah. Allaah [The Exalted] said: [حَـٰفِظُواْ عَلَى ٱلصَّلَوَٲتِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ٱلۡوُسۡطَىٰ وَقُومُواْ لِلَّهِ قَـٰنِتِينَ – Guard strictly (five obligatory) prayers especially the Salatul Wustaa (the Asr prayer)]. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Verse 238] – Meaning, the most excellent one.

Allaah [The Exalted] said: [ وَكَذَٲلِكَ جَعَلۡنَـٰكُمۡ أُمَّةً۬ وَسَطً۬ا – Thus We have made you Ummatan Wasatan]. Meaning, the best and most upright nation. The intent behind all this is to understand that [الوسط ]in the context of the Religion is that which is best’and it is to follow that which Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] has commanded and keep away from that which He has forbidden. As for the explanation of [Al-Wasat] in the religious context with a meaning other than this meaning, then it is (something founded upon a foundation] ready to crumble a mirage which the thirsty one considers water [i.e. an illusion].(1)

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:

This is why those amongst the Muslims who deviate towards the doubts of the Jews and Christians are commanded to abandon such deviation and follow the straight path – the path which Allaah bestowed on the Prophets, the truthful ones, the martyrs and righteous, and not the path of those who have earned Allaah’s Anger, such as those Jews who disbelieved in the Messiah after having knowledge, and those who went astray such as those Christians who deviated from the path of the Messiah, exaggerated his status by worshipping him and worshipped Allaah based on ignorance. And similar to them is the one who [ascribed to Islaam], but goes beyond bounds in avoiding impure things and thus declares impure that which has not been declared impure by Allaah and His Messenger; makes unlawful that which Allaah and His Messenger have not made unlawful, captured by the whispers of shaytaan and forbids the good things which Allaah made lawful for the Muslims, such as the one who holds the opinion that if impurity is removed and there is nothing remaining of it, then the place it was found is still impure if the impurity was not removed by that which has been prescribed as a condition for its removal such as water or other than it; or he holds that good water and other good liquids that have not been affected by something filthy is unlawful merely due to the reason that they have come into contact with some filth. [Footnote a – refer to detail about the ruling on water at the end of this article]

And even worst is the affair of those who excommunicate Muslims who oppose them, as is the view of many of ahlul bidah amongst the Raafidha, the Khawaarij and other than them, so if others eat from their utensils, they declare it impure. [Footnote b- refer to detail at the end of this article regarding falsehood of the khawaarij and Raafidha, as well as the fiqh regarding utensils]

As for that which many people do [without any sound proof from the texts of the Sharee’ah], such as one who commands a menstruating woman that she must change or wash the first clothing she wore whilst she was on her menses, or forbids a person who is in a state of Janaabah from eating or drinking until he takes a shower (or bath), these opinions are often that of those who resemble those Jews who went astray; rather they resemble the Samaritans.

As for those who resemble the Christians [i.e. those Christians who became misguided after abandoning the path of the Messiah and disbelieved in Muhammad], it is for example the affair of the one who has a good suspicion regarding that which is impure, such as those who are in toilets- places of the devils and impurity – and defiled with urine. He neither performs wudhu nor does he take a bath or shower after being in a state of Janaabah, nor does he perform the Salaah, nor prays in a state of ablution, whilst knowing that it is known by necessity in the religion that the five daily prayers are obligated on every person and that one has to perform ablution if he is a state of Hadath and should take a bath when in a state of Janaabah, and cannot perform Tayammum when he is able to make wudhu. (2)

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Say (O Muhammad): “O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Exceed not the limits in your religion (by believing in something) other than the truth, and do not follow the vain desires of people who went astray in times gone by, and who misled many, and strayed (themselves) from the Right Path. [Surah Al-Maa’idah. Verse 77]
When one ponders upon the condition of the Jews and Christians [i.e. those amongst them – in the past and at present – who strayed after the departure of their Prophets] in comparison to that of the [rightly guided] Muslims, he finds that the Yahood are on one extreme in misguidance and the Nasaaraa are on another extreme in misguidance, and the [rightly guided] Muslims are upon the middle course. Likewise, the [rightly guided] Muslims are upon uprightness in the affairs related monotheism, the Prophets, the Revealed laws, and in the affairs of Halaal, Haraam, Manners and other than that. The Jews liken Allaah to the creation by describing Him with (Attributes) of imperfection, which the Lord [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] is totally free of; such as the statement of those amongst them who say that Allaah is Poor and Miserly, and that Allaah was overcome by fatigue after creating the heavens and the earth. The Christians liken the creation to the Creator with regards to the Attributes of Perfection that are specific to the Creator, and which none else has a likeness to besides Him (Alone); such as their statement that the Messiah is Allaah, and that he is the son of Allaah.

The Nasaaraa also ascribed attributes of imperfection to Godhead, which the Lord [Allaah] must be freed from. They make lawful that which Allaah has forbidden, just as they have made swine lawful and other than it from the impure things; rather, they do not make anything unlawful (of those things that are to be declared unlawful), just as they have unlawfully prescribed the innovation of monasticism.

They abolished that which Allaah has enjoined, just as they have abolished circumcision and other than it. They abolished various forms of purification related to affairs of Ghusul, the removal of impurities and other than that. They enjoined that which is to be abolished, such as the man made laws which Allaah and His Prophets have not enjoined.

The [rightly guided] Muslims describe the Lord with what befits Him of Perfect Attributes. They free Allaah from deficiencies that depict a likeness of Him to (others). They describe Allaah with what He described Himself with, and with what His Messengers described Him with, without Tahreef [altering the meaning understood, and accepting such a meaning which the words may indicate in a doubtful sense], Tateel [negating the Attributes of Allaah] and Takyeef [attributing a state of being or likeness to the creation]. The [rightly guided] Muslims know that there is nothing like unto Allaah, neither with regards to His Essence and His Attributes nor His Actions, and they say: [ أَلَا لَهُ ٱلۡخَلۡقُ وَٱلۡأَمۡرُ‌ۗ – His is the creation and the command]. [Surah Al-A’raaf. Verse 54]

And just as none else besides Him creates, (also) none else besides Him commands; rather all the Religion belongs to Him. He is the One worshipped (in truth), the One to be obeyed, and all worship is to be devoted to Him [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections]. There is no obedience to anyone except through His obedience, He is the One Who abrogates what He abrogated from His revealed laws, and it is not for anyone else to abrogate His revealed laws. The Yahood go beyond bounds with regards to avoiding the impure things and thus they declared unlawful the lawful and good things, and the Nasaaraa made lawful the impure things (i.e. swine). And Allaah has made lawful for the Muslims the good pure things in opposition to the Yahood, and He prohibited them the impure things in opposition to the Christians.

Indeed, Allaah sent His Messengers with Guidance and the Religion of Truth – guidance comprises of beneficial knowledge, and the Religion of Truth comprises righteous action in order that it may become dominant over all other Religions. Dominance takes place through knowledge and (clarification through speech), in order to clarify its truthfulness and what it contains of guidance. Dominance can take place by way of striving with the hand and weapons, in order to be aided in victory. Read here about Jihaad: https://www.abukhadeejah.com/salafi-shaikh-fawzaan-on-jihaad-in-our-times-and-the-guidelines-of-jihaad-according-to-islam/

Indeed, Allaah manifested this dominance, because the Muslims are the people of the straight path – the straight path that Allaah has chosen for the Prophets, The Truthful Ones, The Martyrs, The Righteous Ones, and how excellent these companions are! The Yahood killed the Prophets and those who enjoined justice, and the Nasaaraa took their priests, monks and the Messiah (son of maryam) as lords besides Allaah. The [upright] Muslims establish uprightness, they believe in Allaah, in His Angels, His Books and His Messengers. They neither belie the Prophets nor insult them. They neither go into excess regarding the status of the Prophets nor do they worship them. Likewise, they neither diminish the rights of the people of knowledge nor do they go into excess regarding them. (3)

Secondly, the Sharee’ah is proof against Jinn and humankind!

Imaam Ash’Shaatibee [rahimahullaah] said: Know that Allaah has established this sharee’ah as a proof against the creation [i.e. mankind and jinn] – the old and young alike; the obedient and the disobedient; the righteous and the wicked. He did not specify the proof against anyone in exclusion of another one. Also all the other revealed laws were established as proof against all the other nations to whom they were revealed. The Sharee’ah is the judge- restrictedly and unrestrictedly; the [source of judgement] and the judge on all those who have reached the age of responsibility. It is the path attached to [what Allaah has ordained] and the Greatest Guide. And have you not seen the statement of Allaah [The Most High]?!

And thus We have sent to you (O Muhammad) Ruhan (an Inspiration, and a Mercy) of Our Command. You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith? But We have made it (this Qur’an) a light wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will. And verily, you (O Muhammad) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight Path (i.e. Allah’s religion of Islamic Monotheism).’’ [Soorah Ash-Shooraa. Ayah: 52]

He [alayhis salaatu wassalaam] was the first to be guided to the Book and Eemaan, and then those who followed him. The Book is the Guide and also the Sunnah which was sent down upon him explains that guidance [i.e. the Sunnah and the Qur’aan explain each other]. All the creation [i.e. mankind and Jinn] are guided by it.

Therefore, when this is the case, the Sharee’ah is worthy of being a decisive proof against them [i.e. against mankind and Jinn] and a beacon by way of which they are guided to the truth. Their nobility is established in accordance with how far they embrace its rulings- through acting upon them in speech, belief and deeds– and not merely due to the level of their intellects or their nobility amongst their people. That is because Allaah [The Most High] has determined nobility through Taqwa and no other than it. Allaah [The Most High] said:

[إِنَّ أَڪۡرَمَكُمۡ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَتۡقَٮٰكُمۡ‌ۚ- Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has more fear of Allaah]. [Surah Al-Hujuraat. Verse 13]

The one who is the firmest [in his or her] adherence to the Sharee’ah is more worthy of honour and nobility, but it is not possible for the one below this [i.e. the one whose adherence to the Sharee’ah is below that of the one who is firmest in adhering to it] to reach the highest level of honour based on his adherence to the Sharee’ah. Therefore, honour is [measured] in accordance with one’s [level of adherence] to the Sharee’ah. (4)

Thirdly, unlike secularism, there is no separation between politics and religion in Islam!

Secularism is the belief that religion should not be involved with the ordinary social and political activities of a country. (5) Therefore, this definition establishes the idea that there should be separation between ‘State and Religion’ or between ‘Siyaasah and Religion’.

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: What is intended by ‘Separation between religion and Siyaasah’ is that the ruler can do what he wants based on what he thinks is a means of fulfilling (responsibilities related to) affairs of the state, whether it agrees with Sharee’ah or not; or even if what he does is based on the judgement of the religion, because the meaning of separation is to distinguish between two things and give them specific definitions. Therefore, in relation to this, the ruler looks at what he considers to be beneficial even if it opposes the Sharee’ah. There is no doubt that this is a false and sinful statement, because the religion itself is Siyaasah and Siyaasah itself is the religion, but what we mean by Siyaasah is the Siyaasah that is based on equity and not oppression. The religion of Islaam came to bring about wellbeing [and upright conduct] for the people in their behaviour towards their Lord and between themselves. It establishes the Rights of Allaah, rights for the people- rights for parents, relatives, wives and the Muslims – in general. And even for non-Muslims, Islam has given them rights that are well-known to the scholars. It laid down the means and conditions for war and peace making, punishments for crimes – some of which are determined by way of specific texts and some are left to the jurisdiction of the ruler, as well as other affairs which clearly shows that Islaam in its entirety is Siyaasah. The root of this word Siyaasah is Saa’is and that is the person who is responsible for looking after the affairs of animals – fulfilling that which brings them wellbeing and repelling that which will harm them. This is Siyaasah. We find this meaning when we contemplate on affairs of the religion, and that Allaah has legislated – for the servants – things without which humans will not be able to establish [a fruitful, stable, orderly, safe] life, and forbade them from things that will corrupt their state of affairs – either affecting everyone or specific individuals. Therefore, in reality the entire religion is Siyaasah. And we are certain that anyone who separates Siyaasah from the Religion and establishes Siyaasah based on what he sees fit and what he forbids, then indeed his Siyaasah is corrupt, and it will cause more harm than good. If it rectifies one affair based on his limited [or deficient] opinions, then indeed it greatly corrupts from another angle. So, this makes it incumbent that one contemplates on the state of affairs of those who base their Siyaasah on their desires and opinions, and became distanced from the religion of Islaam, you will find -after contemplating – that either all that Siyaasah is corrupt or most of it, and that if it rectifies an affair from one angle, it corrupts from another angle. So, based on this, separation between Siyaasah and Religion is a sinful deed and it is obligated on the one who seeks to rectify himself and others that he does so only based on the religion of Islaam. (6)

Sharee’ah Law and Crime

Shaikh Abdul Waahid Abu Khadeejah [may Allaah preserve him] stated: Some Islamic countries such as Saudi Arabia and parts of Nigeria use Sharī’ah Law as the law of the land. These include death penalties for murder and drug trafficking, and amputation and removal of a hand for thieves who steal beyond a certain considerable sum. Even though these punishments exist, they are not used often because the crime rate in many Muslim countries is low. That is for two reasons: The citizens are keen to live their lives in accordance to their Islamic faith, ethics and morals. The threat of these punishments serve as strong deterrent against crimes. (7)

Capital Punishment (Executions), Cutting off Hands, Feet as Punishment- Allaah Gave Muslim Authorities The Absolute Right to Severely With Those Who Show Utter Disregard For Public Safety, Such as Mass Murderers, Murderous Highway Robbers, Kidnappers and other Wicked Criminals Who Terrify Citizens, Create An Atmosphere of Terror and Fear, Instability, Chaos etc

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

The recompense of those who wage war against Allah and His Messenger and do mischief in the land is only that they shall be killed or crucified or their hands and their feet be cut off on the opposite sides, or be exiled from the land. That is their disgrace in this world, and a great torment is theirs in the Hereafter. Except for those who (having fled away and then) came back (as Muslims) with repentance before they fall into your power; in that case, know that Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. [Surah Al-Maa’idah. Verses 33-34]

One of The Many Excellent Reasons Behind Capital Punishment

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

O you who believe! Al-Qisas (the Law of Equality in punishment) is prescribed for you in case of murder: the free for the free, the slave for the slave, and the female for the female. But if the killer is forgiven by the brother (or the relatives, etc.) of the killed against blood money, then adhering to it with fairness and payment of the blood money, to the heir should be made in fairness. This is an alleviation and a mercy from your Lord. So after this whoever transgresses the limits (i.e. kills the killer after taking the blood money), he shall have a painful torment. And there is (a saving of) life for you in Al-Qisas (the Law of Equality in punishment), O men of understanding, that you may become pious. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Verses 178-179]

Ash-Shaybaan reported from Qataadah who said: Among the people of the pre-Islamic era were those who transgressed and followed shaytaan. If a person had strength and a great number of supporters, and a slave of theirs is murdered by a slave of another people, then out of wanting to show their superior strength, they would say, ‘We shall not kill (by way of revenge) except a free person amongst them’. And if a woman kills another woman from another tribe, they said, ‘We shall not kill (by way of revenge) except a man amongst them’”. So, Allaah revealed this Aayah.

And regarding the statement: [وَلَكُمۡ فِى ٱلۡقِصَاصِ حَيَوٰةٌ۬ يَـٰٓأُوْلِى ٱلۡأَلۡبَـٰبِ لَعَلَّڪُمۡ تَتَّقُونَ – And there is (a saving of) life for you in Al-Qisas (the Law of Equality in punishment), O men of understanding, that you may become pious], Az-Zujaaj said, “If a man knows that he’ll be killed if he murders someone, he will refrain from murder and thus both his life and that of others are preserved. (8)

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said: He refrains from killing out of loving and giving precedence to his own life, so there is preservation of his life and the life of the one he wants to murder. Also when a man killed another man from another family or tribe, the family or tribe of the victim killed everyone they could find from the family, tribe and city district of the murderer, and in this there was overwhelming corruption and destruction, so Allaah legislated the law of equality in punishment and so that none else is killed except the one who committed murder. This preserved the lives of murderer’s relatives and the people of his city. (9)

Imaam As-Sadi [rahimahullaah] said: By way of it [i.e. the law of equity in punishment] life is preserved and the misguided ones who exit the confines of justice are restrained. And when others witness a murderer being executed [i.e. by the government], they will take heed and refrain from the crime of murder. So, if the punishment against a murderer was other than killing him [by way of capital punishment], the evil act of murder would not have been prevented. This is the case regarding all the prescribed punishments of the Sharee’ah, because they contain a means of prevention which shows the perfect Wisdom of The All-Wise , the Oft-Forgiving. And Allaah specifically mentioned life in this Aayah as emphasis and exaltation. And when it is the case that none knows the reality of this ruling except the people of sound intellect and strong understanding, Allaah addressed them specifically. (10)

Our Responsibilities Whilst Living in a Society That Rules By Secular Laws

Shaikh Abdul Waahid Abu Khadeejah [may Allaah preserve him] said: Although Muslims in Britain are subject to British law and the British legal system, Sharī’ah tribunals are allowed in certain areas as an alternative way of resolving disputes. These are aimed at resolving commercial, civil and matrimonial disputes to the satisfaction of both sides. Sharī’ah Law is based upon the Qur’ān and Sunnah, and judgements are made in accordance to these two sources. Only those well-versed with the Religion and jurisprudence (rulings in law) are permitted to judge in Sharī’ah matters. Read more here: https://www.abukhadeejah.com/educate-yourself-ethics-1-2-shariah-redstone-academy/

Take note of Shaikh Abu Khadeejah’s statement, “Muslims in Britain are subject to British law and the British legal system”, therefore one must be well aware of this fact and distance himself from the Takfeeris and those who take the law into their own hands. One must pay close attention to the fact – out of fear of Allaah and the last Day – that it is obligated on us to behave well towards our non-Muslim fellow citizens and fulfil our covenants.

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [rahimahullaah] stated: Likewise I invite you to have respect for those people who have the right that they should be respected, from those between you and whom there is an agreement (of protection) [i.e. Non-Muslims]. For the land which you are living is such that there is an agreement between you and them. If this were not the case they would have killed you or expelled you. So preserve this agreement, and do not prove treacherous to it, since treachery is a sign of the hypocrites, and it is not from the way of the Believers.

And know that it is authentically reported from the Prophet that he said : “Whoever kills one who is under an agreement of protection will not smell the fragrance of Paradise.”

Do not be fooled by those sayings of the foolish people: those who say: ‘Those people are Non-Muslims, so their wealth is lawful for us [i.e. to misappropriate or take by way of murder and killing].’ For by Allaah – this is a lie. A lie about Allaah’s Religion, and a lie in Islamic societies.

O my brothers. O youth. O Muslims. Be truthful in your buying and selling, and renting, and leasing, and in all mutual transactions. Because truthfulness is from the characteristics of the Believers, and Allaah – the Most High – has commanded truthfulness – in the saying of Allaah – the Most High – “O you who believe – fear and keep you duty to Allaah and be with the truthful.”

And the Prophet encouraged truthfulness and said : “Adhere to truthfulness, because truthfulness leads to goodness, and goodness leads to Paradise; and a person will continue to be truthful, and strive to be truthful until he will be written down with Allaah as a truthful person“.

And he warned against falsehood, and said : “Beware of falsehood, because falsehood leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire. And a person will continue lying, and striving to lie until he is written down with Allaah as a great liar.”

O my brother Muslims. O youth. Be true in your sayings with your brothers, and with those Non-Muslims whom you live along with – so that you will be inviters to the Religion of Islaam, by your actions and in reality. So how many people there are who first entered into Islaam because of the behaviour and manners of the Muslims, and their truthfulness, and their being true in their dealings. (11)

One Who Makes Disputes Worse is a Shaytaan! [Rebuke Against Those Moroccan and Algerian Journalists Who Seek to Add Fuel to Fire]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Narrated Abu Hurairah [may Allaah be pleased with him]: Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “There is Sadaqah (charity) to be given for every joint of the human body (as a sign of gratitude to Allaah) every day the sun rises. To judge justly between two persons is regarded as Sadaqah, and to help man concerning his riding animal by helping him to ride it or by lifting his luggage on to it, is also regarded as Sadaqah, and (saying) a good word is also Sadaqah, and every step taken on one’s way to offer the compulsory congregational prayer is also Sadaqah, and to remove a harmful thing from the way is also Sadaqah”. [Saheeh Al-Bukhaari. Hadeeth Number 2989. Vol 4]

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] said: Allaah (Glorified be He) has not limited charity to a person’s spending by way of wealth; rather Allaah (The Most High) made it wider than this and everyone is able to partake in it. Acts of charity mentioned in this hadeeth:

– To judge justly between two people in a dispute and bring about conciliation between them– by uniting their hearts and make them become pleased with one another. This indeed is a great act of charity. Allaah (The Most High) said:

There is no good in most of their secret talks save (in) him who orders Sadaqah (charity in Allah ’s Cause), or Ma’ruf (Islamic Monotheism and all the good and righteous deeds which Allah has ordained), or conciliation between mankind, and he who does this, seeking the good Pleasure of Allah, We shall give him a great reward. [Soorah An-Nisaa: Ayah 114]

Therefore, a person should not leave the people in dispute; rather it is incumbent upon him to be eager to bring about conciliation between disputing parties, especially relatives. As for some people-and Allaah’s Protection is sought-they only bring into disputes that which will increase it. This type of person is a shaytaan. Also the one who seeks to bring about conciliation between the people should do that with justice; he should not oppress any of them or judge based on desires.

– Helping a person with his riding animal: To help him concerning his riding animal-whether it is a riding beast or a car-if he is weak or disabled. You help him to climb his riding beast or to get in his car, or help him carry his luggage. This is an act of charity. Indeed, you did not give him money, but you aided him.

– Uttering a good word; such as greeting with As-Salaamu alaykum; supplicating for your Muslim brother etc. And a good word includes acts of worship a person does in the presence of his Lord, such as remembrance of Allaah-the utterance of Subhaanallaah; Laa-ilaaha-ilal-laah etc

– Walking to the masjid for the prayer: Every footstep taken towards the masjid is charity, and the farer the masjid the more reward a person gets. In this is an encouragement to attend the compulsory prayer in jamaa’ah and not to stay away from it. To miss the prayer in jamaa’ah is a great loss.

– Removing something harmful from the way: Removing harmful things from the pathways of the Muslims or from the pathways of the people in general; likewise removing harmful things from the pathways of the animals. One should not place harmful things in pathways that will harm pedestrians. One should not leave a harmful thing which another person left in a pathway. It has been reported in a hadeeth that the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: “While a man was going on a way, he saw a thorny branch and removed it from the way and Allaah (The Mighty and majestic) became pleased by his action and forgive him for that”. [Saheeh Al- Bukhaari Vol 1. Hadeeth Number 652]. He was entered into paradise because of his act of kindness to pedestrians.

But how about those who place harmful things in the roads; such as stones, thorns, planks of woods, metals, and spilling water on the road, which may be impure and placing rubbish on the roads. The person who does this has greatly sinned and everyone passer-by supplicates against him. The action of this person is oppression and the supplication of the oppressed person is answered. Therefore a Muslim should hasten to remove harmful things from the path in order to receive this reward mentioned in the hadeeth. (2)

Narrated Anas Ibn Maalik [may Allaah be pleased with him] that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Do you know what Al-Ad’hu is (i.e. calumny)?” They (i.e. the people) said, “Allaah and His Messenger know best”. He said, “Transmitting speech from some people to another people in order to destroy their (mutual relationships)”.

Al-Allaamah Zayd Bin Haadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] commented on this hadeeth as follows: “The subject matter of this hadeeth is about the dangerous (consequences) of tale-carrying in this Dunyaa and in the Aaakhirah. Indeed, the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] called it Ad’hu, and the meaning of Ad’hu is to transmit speech from some people to another people in order to corrupt their (mutual) relationships. And in the hadeeth of Ibn Mas’ood [may Allaah be pleased with him], it is explained to mean tale-carrying and that is to transmit the statement of one person to another person, or from a group of people to another group, or from one country to another one in order to cause corruption. This (deed) is one of the major sins due to its evil (consequences) and the punishment (associated with it) in this life and the next. In this worldly life, it might lead to murder, chaos and other similar affairs – events that are in opposition to rectification. And due to this, the scholars say that the tale carrier- the one who transmits speech from one person to another person, or from a group of people to another group, or from one country to another in order to sow the seeds of corruption- causes more harm than a magician. This is because a magician might only harm one person, but as for the tale-carrier, he might harm many individuals and the tribulation that (results from this deed of his) will be prolonged.

Therefore, it is forbidden for a Muslim to transmit speech (for the purpose) of causing corruption between those upon brotherhood and those who aid one another upon piety. And even if nothing like this (i.e. fighting, chaos, killing etc) results (from tale-carrying), it is still not permissible to corrupt the relationship between the people by way of lies- sowing the seeds of enmity and hatred between them. The Messenger of Allaah [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] went past two graves and then said, “Both of them (i.e. the two people in these graves) are being punished, and they are not being punished due to the greatest of the major sins, but indeed they are great sins. One of them used not to protect himself from being soiled with his urine and the other one used to go about with tale-carrying”.

Therefore, what the opposite of this hadeeth (necessitates is that) it is obligatory to bring about reconciliation between the people due to the statement of Allaah[The Exalted]:

There is no good in most of their secret talks save (in) him who orders Sadaqah (charity in Allah’s Cause), or Ma’ruf (Islamic Monotheism and all the good and righteous deeds which Allah has ordained), or conciliation between mankind. [Surah An-Nisaa. Aayah 114]

However, there is an exception in this affair when it is carried out for the purpose of giving some sincere advice whose benefit cannot be reached nor can harm be repelled except by way of such speech. For example, you hear a person saying that he is lying in wait against your Muslim brother and wishes to kill him, take his wealth or violate his honour, or the like thereof, (whose evil consequences) you have clarified (for this perpetrator in order to stop him), but he refuses to accept your advice. Therefore, you go to the person who is unaware (of the evil plan of this perpetrator whom you have advised to refrain) and informed him about it, so that he can take precautions. Therefore, (transmitting) speech based on this type of intention and goal is considered to be sincere advice and it is not tantamount to causing corruption, for indeed you are either going to repel harm or bring about a benefit which one cannot do without (except by way of this transmission). And Allaah knows best. (1)
