Many of Them (i.e. Muslim Women) Aren’t Even Allowed to Keep Their Genitals!

Brief Reply to Slanderer – Nadine Dorries (Culture Secretary)- Who Deliberately Chose Not to Distinguish Between Sound Islamic Practice and Harmful Cultural Practice

Firstly, why have we repeated the evil statement that was uttered by the slanderer Nadine Dorries? That is because Allaah [The Exalted] said: [ لَّا يُحِبُّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ بِٱلسُّوٓءِ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ إِلَّا مَن ظُلِمَ‌ۚ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ سَمِيعًا عَلِيمًا – Allah does not like that the evil should be uttered in public except by him who has been wronged. And Allah is Ever All-Hearer, All-Knower]. [Surah An-Nisaa. Verse 148]

Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Allah informed us that He does not like that evil is uttered openly – meaning, He hates and dislikes that one should do so, and threatens to punish (the one who commits such a deed). This includes all evil statements that offends and make others sad, such as insult, slander, verbal abuse and what is similar to that, because all these deeds are forbidden and Allaah hates them. This shows that Allaah loves good speech, such as Dhikr (remembrance of Allaah), kind and gentle speech. And regarding the statement of Allaah: [إِلَّا مَن ظُلِمَ‌ۚ -except by him who has been wronged]- Meaning, it is allowed for him to supplicate against the one who wronged him, complain about him and respond with what is similar without lying, exceeding the limits of the wrong that was committed against him not verbally abusing other than the one who verbally abused him; but despite all this, it is better not to respond in like manner, just as Allaah said: [ فَمَنۡ عَفَا وَأَصۡلَحَ فَأَجۡرُهُ ۥ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ إِنَّهُ – but whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah]. [Tafseer As-Sadi. slightly paraphrased]

Indeed, the slanderers continue their slanderous behaviour and many Muslims do exercise patience and pardon when personally attacked, but when the slanders are directed at the religion of Allaah or aimed concealing truth, confounding truth with false, then indeed the slanderers must be rebutted and exposed. The one who says that “Many Muslim women are not even allowed to keep their genitals” has not only guilty of uttering an evil ambiguity, rather she has deliberately confounded truth with falsehood, therefore she is worthy of a reply and her affair exposed. Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated: Beware of kadhib [lying], for indeed it corrupts one’s ability to illustrate information based on what it should be in reality. It corrupts one’s ability to illustrate information and his ability to teach the people. The liar portrays what is non-existent as something present and what is present as something non-existent. He portrays truth as something false and falsehood as something true; he portrays good as evil and evil as good, so this corrupts his conception and knowledge, which then becomes a punishment upon him. Then he portrays what is not true to the one deceived by him – the one who is inclined towards him- so he corrupts his conception and knowledge. The soul of the liar turns away from the existing reality -inclined towards what is non-existent and gives preference to falsehood. And when his conception and knowledge is corrupted, which is the basis of every wilful chosen deed, his deeds become corrupt and marked by lies, so those deeds would emanate from him just as lies emanate from the tongue- he neither benefits from his tongue nor his deeds. This is why lying is the basis [or foundation] of immorality, just as the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, “Indeed lies lead to immorality [or wickedness] and indeed immorality [or wickedness] leads to the fire. [Bukhaari 2606/2607]

Firstly lies emerges from the heart and then on the tongue, so it corrupts it; then it transfers to the limbs and corrupts its actions, just as it corrupts the statements of the tongue. Therefore, lying prevails over his statements, deeds and state of affairs; corruption becomes deeply rooted in him and its disease leads to destruction if Allaah does not grant him cure him with the medication of truthfulness, which uproots its (i.e. lying) from its original source. This is why the basis [or foundation] of all the deeds of the hearts is based on truthfulness; and the basis of their opposites – such as showing off, self-amazement, pride, being glad [with ungratefulness to Allaah’s Favours], conceitedness, boastfulness, insolence, weakness, laziness, cowardice, disgrace and other than them- is lies. The origin of every righteous deed- whether carried out in private or public- is based on truthfulness. And the origin of every corrupt deed – whether carried out in private or public- is lies. The Slanderers Seek to Nullify The Sound Foundations of The Religion of Islam

Allaah [The Exalted] said: [قَدۡ مَڪَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ – Those before them indeed plotted]: Meaning plotted against their Messengers, employed various types of tricks in order to reject that which the messengers brought and established gigantic safeguards [by way of arguments, views etc] on their plots. [فَأَتَى ٱللَّهُ بُنۡيَـٰنَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡقَوَاعِدِ – but Allah struck at the foundation of their building]– Meaning, an affair came to them from its basis and foundation [فَخَرَّ عَلَيۡہِمُ ٱلسَّقۡفُ مِن فَوۡقِهِمۡ – and then the roof fell down upon them, from above them] -Meaning, so what they built became a punishment for them. [وَأَتَٮٰهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَشۡعُرُونَ – and the torment overtook them from directions they did not perceive]: Meaning, that is because they thought that such a building will benefit and protect them from punishment, but their punishment occurred from that which they built and established.

This is one the best of parables regarding how Allaah nullifies the plots of his enemies, for indeed they pondered and reflected on that which the Messengers brought when they belied them, made up principles and rules for it based on falsehood, referred back to them to reject that which the Messengers came with, employed tricks to bring discomfort to the Messengers and inflict harm on them and those who followed them, but their plot became a source of evil against them, so their plan became their destruction, because their plot was evil as Allaah said: [ وَلَا يَحِيقُ الْمَكْرُ السَّيِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهْلِهِ – But the evil plot encompasses only him who makes it]. [Surah Al-Faatir. Verse 43]

This is in this worldly life and the punishment in the afterlife would be more disgraceful, and due to this Allaah said: [ثُمَّ يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَـٰمَةِ يُخۡزِيهِمۡ – Then, on the Day of Resurrection, He will disgrace them]. [Tafseer as-Sadi]

The Slanderers Will Always Be Exposed

It used to be said that whoever perpetrates these three acts will be haunted by them: Rebellion against Allaah’s commandments. Allaah [The Most High] said: [ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا بَغْيُكُمْ عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِكُمْ – O mankind! Your rebellion (disobedience to Allah) is only against your ownselves]. [Soorah Yoonus: Ayah: 23]

Evil plotting. Allaah [The Most High] said: [ وَلَا يَحِيقُ الْمَكْرُ السَّيِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهْلِهِ – But the evil plot encompasses only him who makes it]. [Soorah Faatir: Ayah: 43]

Breaking pledges. [Allaah [The Most High] said: [فَمَنْ نَكَثَ فَإِنَّمَا يَنْكُثُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ – Then whosoever breaks his pledge only breaks it to his own harm]. Reminder to Muslim Women: The Great Reward Awaiting Those Who Exercise Patience When Attacked and Ridiculed By The Spiteful Ones Amongst The Militant Secularists

Allaah [The Most High] said:

إِنَّهُ كَانَ فَرِيقٌ مِنْ عِبَادِي يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا وَأَنْتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ
فَاتَّخَذْتُمُوهُمْ سِخْرِيًّا حَتَّىٰ أَنْسَوْكُمْ ذِكْرِي وَكُنْتُمْ مِنْهُمْ تَضْحَكُونَ
إِنِّي جَزَيْتُهُمُ الْيَوْمَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا أَنَّهُمْ هُمُ الْفَائِزُونَ

Verily! There was a party of My slaves, who used to say: “Our Lord! We believe, so forgive us, and have mercy on us, for You are the Best of all who show mercy!” But you took them for a laughingstock, so much so that they made you forget My Remembrance while you used to laugh at them! Verily! I have rewarded them this Day for their patience, they are indeed the ones that are successful.’’ [Soorah Al-Muminoon. Verses 109-111]

Allaah informed [us] that He rewarded them for their patience, just as He [The Most High] said in another Aayah: [وَجَعَلْنَا بَعْضَكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ فِتْنَةً أَتَصْبِرُونَ – And We have made some of you as a trial for others: will you have patience?]

Az-Zujaaj [rahimahullaah] said: That means: Will you not exercise patience when afflicted and indeed you know what the patient ones will receive?! I [Ibnul Qayyim] say: Allaah [Glorified be He and One free is He from all imperfections] connected affliction with patience in this ayah and also in His saying: [ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لِلَّذِينَ هَاجَرُوا مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا فُتِنُوا ثُمَّ جَاهَدُوا وَصَبَرُوا — Then, verily! Your Lord for those who emigrated after they had been put to trials and thereafter strove hard and fought (for the Cause of Allah) and were patient] [Soorah An-Nahl Ayah 110]

There is no remedy like patience for the one put to trial! If one exercises patience, then that trial becomes a [source] of purification and rescue from sins, just as the bellows purify gold and silver. Trials are the bellows of the hearts and the test for one’s Eemaan, and by way of it the truthful one is distinguished from the liar. Allaah [The Most High] said:[وَلَقَدْ فَتَنَّا الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِهِمْ ۖ فَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ اللَّهُ الَّذِينَ صَدَقُوا وَلَيَعْلَمَنَّ الْكَاذِبِينَ – And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make (it) known (the truth of) those who are true, and will certainly make (it) known (the falsehood of) those who are liars, (although Allah knows all that before putting them to test)] [Soorah Al-Ankabut. Verse 3]

Trials categorize the people into truthful ones and liars, believers and hypocrites, good and wicked. So, whoever exercises patience in facing trials, then this is a mercy for him [or her] and a safety from a greater trial due to his [or her] patience. And whoever does not exercise patience in facing a trial will fall into a trial more severe than it. [Ighaathatul Lahfaan: 2/170-172]
