Beneficial Bitter Medication For One Ranting and Raving When Lies and Bidah of Soofee Hamza Yusuf Are Rebutted!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Imaam Ibn Rajab [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: The Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “The one who lives long (after me) will see a lot of differences, so beware of the newly invented matters (in the religion) because it is misguidance. So whoever amongst you reaches that (time of differing), then upon him is to adhere to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly Guided Khulafaa [i.e. Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthmaan and Ali], and bite onto it with the molars [i.e. cling to it firmly]”. [Abu Dawud 4607; Ahmad 4/126; Tirmidhee 2676] He [peace and blessings be upon him] commanded that during splitting and differing, one should adhere to his Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided khulafaa after him. The Sunnah is the path that is to be adhered to, and that includes adhering to what he and his rightly guided khulafaa were upon with regards to creed, actions and statements. This is the complete Sunnah. (1)

Imaam Abu Haatim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: This is clear evidence that the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] commanded his Ummah to know the Du’afaa (weak narrators) amongst them and (distinguish) them from the Thiqaat (reliable narrators). That is because the Sunnah cannot be adhered to alongside the lies and falsehood mixed with it, except by way of knowing the Du’afaa and (distinguishing them) from the Thiqaat. (2)

Imaam Al-Awzaa’ee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “O Muslims! Fear Allaah, accept the advice of the sincere advisers and the admonition of the admonishers. know that this knowledge is religion, so beware of what you do, from whom you take your religion, the one you follow and the one with whom your religion is safe, because indeed all the proponents of religious innovation are all falsifiers, liars and sinners. They are not cautious – neither do they pay attention nor do they fear, and together with that they are not to be trusted that they would not distort what you hear.

They say what they do not know with regards to what they disapprove and when proclaiming their lies; but Allaah (knows, hears and sees) what they do. Therefore, be cautious of them, trust them not, reject them and avoid them, because indeed this is what your earlier scholars did and commanded, and likewise the righteous ones who came thereafter.

Be careful of opposing Allaah and being the means to destroying the religion He has ordained – breaking its commands and prohibitions, nullifying and weakening it by respecting the innovators in religious affairs and those who initiate that which is not from the religion, because you know what has been transmitted (i.e. the prohibitions) about respecting or exalting them. And what can be greater respect and exaltation than acquiring your religion from them- following and believing them, drawing close to them and assisting them in enticing the ones they entice and woo to their views and the religion (i.e. religious innovations) they follow. This is sufficient to be regarded as associates of theirs in what they do”. (3)

Imaam Barbahaaree [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “Know that leaving the correct path occurs in two ways. Firstly: that a man strays from the correct path intending nothing but good, so his error is not to be followed since it leads to destruction. Secondly, a man who deliberately opposes the truth and acts contrary to the Pious ones who came before him, he is astray, leading others astray, a rebellious devil within the Ummah. It is a duty upon those who know of him to warn the people against him and to explain his condition to them so that no one falls into his innovation and is destroyed”.

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] commented on the above statement of Imaam Barbahaaree [may Allaah have mercy upon him] saying: After the Shaikh [i.e. Imaam Barbahaaree] described the correct path in his previous statement-the correct path that is obligated on the Muslim to follow in his Aqeedah and Religion- he then mentioned that the one who leaves the correct path is one of two men: The First Man: Is the one who leaves the [correct path] without the intention [to do so], rather he intended good but followed other than the path of good. Striving [alone] is not sufficient, and even if the person has a righteous intention and a good aim, then that has to be upon the correct path. Therefore, this [person] is considered mistaken and whoever agrees with him upon that and follows with him upon error will be destroyed; because this is a path of destruction even though the [person] did not intend leaving [the correct path]; rather his quest was [to reach something] good. This is the state of many of those who initiate newly invented affairs -from themselves – in the knowledge of Aqeedah (Creed). This affair is not permissible and they should not adhere to it. The person [upon this path] is not upon correctness. Allah [The Mighty and Majestic] said:

[ وَأَنَّ هَٰذَا صِرَاطِي مُسْتَقِيمًا فَاتَّبِعُوهُ ۖ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا السُّبُلَ فَتَفَرَّقَ بِكُمْ عَنْ سَبِيلِهِ – And verily, this is my Straight Path, so follow it, and follow not (other) paths, for they will separate you away from His Path]. [6:153]

So we reject any path that exits us from the Straight Path even if the one who [calls] to it aims for good and has a good intention. We do not follow him upon that whilst he continues upon his error, eventually leading to destruction; because whoever abandons the correct path in his journey and takes a path of ruin will be destroyed.

As For The Second Person: It is the one who intends to leave [the correct path]. He knows the truth and that what he embarks upon is falsehood, but he intends to leave the truth with the intention of misguiding the people. So the intention of the first [person] is to bring about benefit for the people, but he did not follow the correct path. The second [person] intended to misguide the people and to turn them away from the correct path. So this one [i.e. the one who intends misguidance for the people] is a devil, because the devils take the people away from the Straight Path. [Allaah informed us that] Iblees said: [لَأَقْعُدَنَّ لَهُمْ صِرَاطَكَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ -Surely I will sit in wait against them (human beings) on Your Straight Path]. [7:16] So he intends to turn them away from it [i.e. the straight path] and [direct them] towards the deviated paths. The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] gave us an example when he drew a straight line and drew other lines on its sides, he then said about the straight line: ‘This is the path of Allaah’ and he said about the other lines, ‘These are the other paths, and on each path is a devil calling to it.’ This is a clear example that is in agreement to that which the Shaikh [i.e. Imaam Barbahaaree] has mentioned here. So the one who takes the people away from the Straight Path [and direct them] to the innovated paths of the innovators is not one who intends good for them; rather he intends destruction for them. He is a devil, be it that he is a devil from amongst the Jinn or the People. It is obligated on us to be more careful of this [second ] than the first one [i.e. the person who intends good but was mistaken]; because this one [i.e. the intentionally deviated one] intends to misguide the people.

And regarding the statement of Imaam Barbahaaree: “He is astray, leading others astray, a rebellious devil”, Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan commented on the above statement, saying: He is misguided and misguiding others. He is a rebellious devil, a rebel intending to turn the people from the Straight Path. And regarding the statement of Imaam Barbahaaree: ”It is a duty upon those who know of him to warn the people against him and to explain his condition to them so that no one falls into his innovation and is destroyed.’ Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan commented on the above statement, saying: It is not permissible to keep quiet about this one who leaves the truth intentionally; rather it is obligatory to unveil his affair and uncover his vileness until the people are warned about him. And it is not to be said that the people are free to hold views, freedom of speech and respecting the views of others, as say present with regards to [having] respect for the views of others. The affair is not about views; [rather] the affair is about Ittibaa [i.e. following the authentic proofs narrated from the Messenger accompanied with the understanding of the Salaf]. Allah has outlined a clear path for us and He told us to adhere to it, when He [Glorified be He] stated: [وَأَنَّ هَٰذَا صِرَاطِي مُسْتَقِيمًا فَاتَّبِعُوهُ] ‘And verily, this is my Straight Path, so follow it’ [6:153]

So any person comes to us and wants us to leave this straight path, then firstly we reject his statement. Secondly, we clarify and warn the people against him and we do not keep quiet about him; because if we keep quiet about him, the people will be deceived by him, especially if he is an eloquent person, [with] good speech, [skillful] writing and is educated; for indeed the people will be deceived by him and will say, ”this one is competent, this one is from the thinkers,” as is taking place today.

So, the affair is very dangerous and regarding this is a reason to refute the one in opposition, as opposed to what those ones say: [that] ”Abandon the refutations, leave the people, everyone has his own views and have respect for him.” By way of this [having] respect for the views and freedom of speech the Ummah will be destroyed. The Salaf did not keep quiet about the likes of these people; rather they exposed and refuted them due to their knowledge of their danger upon Ummah. We do not keep quiet about their evil; rather that which Allaah has revealed must be clarified. And unless [we do that], we will be from those who conceal the truth-those whom Allah spoke of (saying):

[إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يَكْتُمُونَ مَا أَنْزَلْنَا مِنَ الْبَيِّنَاتِ وَالْهُدَىٰ مِنْ بَعْدِ مَا بَيَّنَّاهُ لِلنَّاسِ فِي الْكِتَابِ ۙ أُولَٰئِكَ يَلْعَنُهُمُ اللَّهُ وَيَلْعَنُهُمُ اللَّاعِنُونَ-Verily, those who conceal the clear proofs, evidences and the guidance, which We have sent down, after We have made it clear for the people in the Book, they are the ones cursed by Allaah and cursed by the cursers.'[2:159] And the affair is not limited to the innovator, rather it is extended to the one who keeps quiet about him, for indeed rebuke and punishment is extended to him; because it is obligatory to clarify and made clear for the people…..up until the Sheikh said: So our intention is to clarify the truth. Our intention is not to [merely] disparage the people or to speak about the people. The intent is to clarify the truth and this is a trust entrusted upon the Scholars. It is not permissible to keep quiet about these people. (4)

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated, “The Imaams of Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jamaaa’ah – the people of knowledge and Imaan- are possessors of Knowledge, Justice and Mercy. They know the truth in a manner in which it is [obligated upon] them- in agreement with the Sunnah and free from innovations. They deal justly with those who are outside of it [i.e. those outside the truth and the Sunnah] even if they [i.e. such people] oppress them, as Allaah [The Most High] said:

[وَلَا يَجْرِمَنَّكُمْ شَنَآنُ قَوْمٍ عَلَىٰ أَلَّا تَعْدِلُوا ۚ اعْدِلُوا هُوَ أَقْرَبُ لِلتَّقْوَىٰ -And let not the enmity and hatred of others make you avoid justice. Be just: that is nearer to piety (5:8)] They are merciful towards the creation. They wish goodness for them, guidance and knowledge. They do not set out wishing evil for them; rather when they [i.e. those Imaams of the Sunnah] punish them, clarify their mistakes, ignorant [views, statements and beliefs] and wrong doing, their intention is to clarify the truth, having mercy for the creation, enjoining good and forbidding evil, in order that the entire religion is established sincerely [for the worship of Allaah alone and adherence to the Sunnah of His Messenger], and so that the word of Allaah is made the uppermost”. (5)

Ibn Aqeel [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “There is none more harmful on the sharee’ah than the innovators of the people of kalaam [i.e. the people of philosophical rhetoric] and the ignorant soofees”. (6) He also said, ““If the truthful ones were to keep silent and the falsifiers speak, then the creation would have relinquished what they have witnessed [of truth] and reject what they have not witnessed. So when the devout ones desire to revive the Sunnah, the people would reject it and think that it is bidah”. (6.1)

Al-Allaama Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee [may Allaah preserve him] said: Through [Muhammad (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasalam)] Allaah removed us from the darkness of Shirk, indecency and Bidah, evil deeds and bad manners – lying, deceit, quackery, trickery etc. And He (purified us) with pure (Islamic)] monotheism and strong sincere Eemaan. He [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] nurtured us upon truthfulness and took the oath of allegiance from us that we speak the truth wherever we may be, and He warned us against lies and evil deeds. And from the recompense (given) to a liar is that which has been reported from the noble Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam]- the person of high moral character- who said, “I saw (in a dream) – two men came to me”. Then the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasalam] said, “They said, ‘the person- the one whose cheek you saw being torn away (from the mouth to the ear) was a liar and used to tell lies and the people would report those lies on his authority till they spread (that lie) all over the world. So, he will be punished like that till the Day of Resurrection”. [Reported by Imaam Al-Bukhaari: Number: 6096] How numerous are those who tell lies today against the carries of Salafiyyah and its callers! They hinder men from the path of Allaah by way of these lies to aid falsehood, spurious (stances, ideas, views etc), bidah, (views, stances, beliefs, ideas etc) that are destructive to the sound creed, methodology and virtuous manners. Good Manners In The Path of Seeking Knowledge, Respect For Scholars and Elders, and Showing Mercy to Youth – By Al-Allaamah Rabee

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee [may Allaah preserve him] said: “Abdullaah Ibn Al-Mubaarak [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, ‘ Whoever belittles the scholars will ruin his religion; whoever belittles the rulers will ruin his worldly affairs and whoever belittles his brothers will ruin his sense of honour’. O my brothers! Therefore, let us behave in a good manner, especially the students of knowledge. O my brothers! At present the connection between a student and his teacher is limited to the classroom. He listens to the lesson and after it finishes, he leaves in a hurry. It is as if he does not know anything about the teacher- neither in a house nor in any other place. And they say, ‘The scholars run away from the students!’ It is obligated on the students to behave well towards the scholars and to come to their houses. Do they want the scholars to run behind the students?! The Salaf did not know this behaviour. When we became deprived of good manners, we expect the scholars to be our followers. Many people want the scholars to be their followers – giving directions to the scholars like they would give directions to a senile old person. A particular scholar can meet thousands of people and benefit them, but as for going to the house of every person and knocking at his door, this is neither legislated by Allaah nor is it obligated on the scholars. (1)

We have been commanded to learn; therefore, it is obligated on us to learn, act and call to the religion based upon the path which Allaah has ordained and clarified for us- the path which the Messenger clarified for us and applied, and which was applied by his companions after him. They spread Islam in the entire world – in different nations. And this knowledge goodness was spread mostly through (praiseworthy) manners – through patience, forbearance, firm fulfilment of obligations and responsibilities, truthfulness, honourable behaviour, nobility, noble mindedness, fulfilling promises and what is similar to that. These manners became manifest to the people, so the hearts, ears and eyes of the nations accepted this guidance, which the companions of Muhammad carried”. (2)

Good manners is a necessity in the path of seeking knowledge, and (when dealing with) scholars and elders. It was said to king Abdul Azeez [may have mercy upon him], “How do you view the people?” He said, “The people in my view are three types: a man who is older than me, so he is placed in my father’s position; a man who is in my age group, so he is placed in my brother’s position, and a man who is younger than me, so he is like my son”.’ Therefore, a Muslim behaves towards his brothers in this manner- he places the people in these different categories. The student of knowledge should respect the elders, honour his contemporaries and show mercy to those below his age. The one who is old in age is like his father, the one in his age group is like his brother and the one below him in age is like his son. (3)

Cautioning One Who Busies Himself With a Wife’s Undesirable Trait Instead of Following The Path of Sound Rectification and Harmony!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Exalted] said: [فَإِن كَرِهۡتُمُوهُنَّ فَعَسَىٰٓ أَن تَكۡرَهُواْ شَيۡـًٔ۬ا وَيَجۡعَلَ ٱللَّهُ فِيهِ خَيۡرً۬ا ڪَثِيرً۬ا – If you dislike them (i.e. your wives), it may be that you dislike a thing and Allah brings through it a great deal of good]. [Surah An-Nisaa. Aayah 19]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah havr mercy upon him] said:

A person may dislike a woman due to a trait of hers, whilst there is a great deal of goodness in keeping her and he does not know it. He may love a woman due to a trait of her traits, whilst in keeping her there is much evil and he does not know it. The human being is as he has been described by his Creator: “Verily, he (man) was unjust (to himself) and ignorant (of its results)”. [Ahzaab, Aayah 72]. Therefore, it is not befitting that he places his inclination, love, aversion and hatred as a measure for that which harms or benefits him, rather the measure is that which Allaah has selected for him of commandments and prohibitions. The most beneficial of affairs for him – without exception – is obedience to His Lord outwardly and inwardly (i.e. praiseworthy hidden deeds of the heart and apparent actions of the limbs), and the most harmful of affairs for him – without exception – is disobedience to his Lord outwardly and inwardly (i.e. evil hidden deeds of the heart and apparent actions of the limbs). If he embarks upon sincere obedience and servitude to Him, then all that he comes across of that which he hates is better for him; and if he withdraws from obedience and servitude to Allaah [The Most High], then all that is in what he loves is bad for him. Therefore, whoever has sound knowledge regarding his Lord and an understanding of His Names and Attributes, he knows with certainty that there are (affairs of advantage, great benefits, welfare etc) and useful (things) in those hated things that afflicts him and the trials that befall him, which he cannot innumerate by way of his knowledge and contemplation; rather the (affairs of advantage, great benefits and welfare) for a servant of Allaah are greater in that which he hates than in what he loves. (1)

The Blessing of a Wife

Allaah [The Most High] said:

وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا لِّتَسْكُنُوا إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُم مَّوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect. [Surah Ar-Rum, Aayah: 21]

Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “In most cases you will not find love in anyone similar to the love and mercy between a husband and wife”. (2)

The Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: “There is nothing like marriage, for two who love one another”. (3) Meaning, “There is no bond like that bond between two people in marriage who love one another, for if they are married and love is present between them, it will increase in strength every day”. (4)

Imaam Muhammad Bin Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “If a person says, ‘What will make a man love his wife and vice versa?’ We say, ‘Allaah has clarified this in His statement: [وَعَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ – And live with them honourably]’. If every person lives with his wife honourably and vice versa, then love, a strong bond and a happy married life will be established”. (5)

Jabir [may Allaah be please with him] narrated that Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Iblis places his throne upon water; he then sends detachments (for creating dissension)- the nearer to him in rank are those who are most notorious in creating dissension. One of them comes and says, ‘ I did so and so’. He says, ‘You have done nothing’. Then one amongst them comes and says, ‘I did not spare so and so until I sowed the seed of discord between a husband and a wife’. The Satan goes near him and says, ‘You have done well’. A’mash said, ‘He then embraces him'”. [Saheeh Muslim. Number:2813]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “And because of the fact that this bond (between husband and wife) is from the most beloved affairs to Allaah and His Messenger, it is from the most hated affairs to the enemy of Allaah [i.e. shaytaan]. Therefore he hastens to split two people who love another for the sake of Allaah”. (6)

Supplication

[ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا هَبۡ لَنَا مِنۡ أَزۡوَٲجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعۡيُنٍ۬ وَٱجۡعَلۡنَا لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا – And those who say: “Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the Muttaqun]. (pious) 25:74

“Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the pious”.

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “So they ask Allaah to grant them the comfort of the eye by making their wives and offspring obedient to Allaah, and to grant them happiness in their hearts due to being followed by the righteous in obedience and servitude to Allaah. That is because a trustworthy leader in the religion co-operates with (others) upon obedience (to Allaah and His Messenger), and that is to call them to (sound) leadership in the religion, whose foundation is patience and certainty, as Allaah [The Most High] said: [ وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنۡہُمۡ أَٮِٕمَّةً۬ يَہۡدُونَ بِأَمۡرِنَا لَمَّا صَبَرُواْ‌ۖ وَڪَانُواْ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا يُوقِنُونَ – And We made from among them (Children of Israel), leaders, giving guidance under Our Command, when they were patient and used to believe with certainty in Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). Therefore, in this supplication of theirs to Allaah that He makes them leaders of the righteous people, is that Allaah guides them, grants them success, bless them with beneficial knowledge and righteous actions- outwardly and inwardly-without which (sound) leadership in the religion cannot be achieved”. (7)

Gentleness In The Household

Aa’isha [may Allaah be pleased with her] narrated that Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said to her, “O Aa’isha! Be gentle, for indeed when Allaah wishes good for a household, He guides them to gentleness”.

Al-Allaamah Zaid Bin Haadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “This hadeeth contains proof regarding the fact that it is obligatory to give sincere advice and the first people one should give sincere advice is the members of the household- the wives, sons, daughters and others. Also this hadeeth contains proof regarding the virtue of gentleness in all affairs, for indeed gentleness is not found in any affair except that it beautifies it, and it is not removed from anything except that it damages it. On the other hand, the opposite of gentleness is warn against and it is the harshness that is applied in other than its rightful place, because its end result will be alienation and disharmony”. A Particular Private Affair in The Bedroom Between Husband and Wife- [An Opinion of Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz and Imaam Al Albaanee]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Question: Is it permissible for a husband to suckle his wife’s breast milk?

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy upon him] responded: “There is nothing wrong with it, meaning: if he sucks her breast, it will not harm him if he suckles milk from her breasts (i.e. it is not unlawful). That is because breastfeeding an adult does not have any consequences (i.e. with regards to its lawfulness) according to the majority of the people of knowledge (i.e. the scholars), but it is more preferable (or desired) to leave such a deed, there is no need for it. If he sucks her breast as a joke, or out of foreplay, or out of showing love, there’s nothing harmful in that. It does not harm the marriage. If he suckles her breast (i.e. the milk), it does not harm anything, she is his wife and not a child of hers, but it is better to leave this. It is not befitting that he suckles her milk…(1)

Wife Forced or Not Forced By a Husband to Kiss His Penis

Imaam Al Albaanee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated: Our answer to this issue is that this is from the actions of dogs. It is the dogs that do this thing to each other. Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] honoured the Children of Adam and have preferred them with a marked preference above many of those whom He created, as stated in the noble Qur’aan and also in the Sunnah. In many specific divine texts, the Prophet [peace be upon him] forbade the Muslim from imitating animals, even if that takes place in the prayer (see footnote a), but this is with regards to speaking in general terms as we have stated and that it is in the Qur’an. Therefore, it is not befitting that a Muslim do the actions of animals, especially if the act of that animal is reprehensible by nature…(2)

Footnote a: Anas Ibn Malik [may Allaah be pleased with him] reported that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Do the prostration properly and do not put your forearms flat with elbows touching the ground like a dog. And if you want to spit, do not spit in front, nor to the right for the person in prayer is speaking in private to his Lord.” (3)

Ref 3: Sahih al-Bukhari 532

Marrying a Much Younger Woman!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Imaam Al-Bukhaaree [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Chapter: To Marry Virgins”. Aa’isha [may Allaah be pleased with her] said, “I said,’O Allaah’s Messenger! Suppose you landed in a valley where there is a tree of which something has been eaten and then you found trees of which nothing has been eaten, of which tree would you let your camel graze?’ He said, ‘I will let my camel graze of the one of which nothing has been eaten before'”. The sub narrator added, “Aisha meant that Allaah’s Messenger had not married a virgin besides herself”. [Saheeh Al-Bukhaaree. Number 5077]

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allaah haver mercy upon him] stated, “In this is an encouragement to marry a virgin, because she has not been put to any trial by the people and this is more likely to (bring about) harmony between her and her husband, except when the need calls for other than that”. (1)

Imaam Al-Bukhaaree [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Chapter: The Marrying off a Young Lady to An Elderly Man”. Urwa [may Allaah be pleased with him] reported that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] asked AbuBakr [may Allaah be pleased with him] for Aisha’s hand in marriage. AbuBakr said, “But I am your brother”. The Prophet said, “You are my brother in Allaah’s Religion and His Book, but she (Aisha) is lawful for me to marry”. [Saheeh Al-Bukhaaree. Number 5081]

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “This shows that brotherhood for Allaah’s Sake and friendship does not prevent (a person from marrying the daughter of his friend). What is forbidden for a brother is to marry (those) relatives forbidden for him”. (2)

Finally, one must be acquainted with Marriage in the UK at present. The age specified for marriage in England and Wales is 18, whether the marriage is registered at a local council or not. Facilitating marriages below this age or doing so abroad could face jail or fines. Therefore, do not engage in anything regarding this affair and thus open a door of great trial for yourself and others.

World Tarot Day; Rather Call It Shirk (polytheism) or Kufr (disbelief) Day!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The Origin of Shirk

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Mankind were one community and Allah sent Prophets with glad tidings and warnings, and with them He sent the Scripture in truth to judge between people in matters wherein they differed. And only those to whom (the Scripture) was given differed concerning it after clear proofs had come unto them through hatred, one to another. Then Allah by His Leave guided those who believed to the truth of that wherein they differed. And Allah guides whom He wills to a Straight Path. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Aayah 213]

Allaah [The Exalted] said: [وَمَا كَانَ ٱلنَّاسُ إِلَّآ أُمَّةً۬ وَٲحِدَةً۬ فَٱخۡتَلَفُواْ‌ۚ وَلَوۡلَا ڪَلِمَةٌ۬ سَبَقَتۡ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِىَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ فِيمَا فِيهِ يَخۡتَلِفُونَ – Mankind were but one community (i.e. on one religion – Islamic Monotheism), then they differed (later), and had not it been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord, it would have been settled between them regarding what they differed]. [Surah Yunus. Aayah 19]

Ibn Abbaas [may Allaah be pleased with him and his father] said, “There were ten generations between Nooh and Aadam – all of them used to be upon the true path [i.e. upon Islaam – worshipping Allaah alone], then they differed and started worshipping idols, false deities and images, so Allaah sent Messengers with clear proofs and evidences”. (1)

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): “Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities).” Then of them were some whom Allah guided and of them were some upon whom the straying was justified. So travel through the land and see what was the end of those who denied (the truth). [Surah An-Nahl. Aayah 36]

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee [may Allaah preserve him] said, “Shirk is the greatest sin that can be committed in disobedience to Allaah. The Prophets brought the greatest knowledge and that is the knowledge of Tawheed, and they warned against the greatest wrong doing and that is to ascribed partners to Allaah. Allaah said: [ إِنَّ ٱلشِّرۡكَ لَظُلۡمٌ عَظِيمٌ۬ – Verily! Associating partners to (Allaah in worship) is a great wrong indeed] [Surah Luqmaan’ Aayah 13] (2)

Iyaadh Ibn Himaar [may Allaah be pleased with him] reported that Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Verily, my Lord has commanded me to teach you what you do not know, from what he has taught me this day, ‘All wealth I bestowed upon them is lawful. I have created all of My servants upon a natural disposition to incline towards worshipping Me alone, but devils come to them and turn them away from their religion (of pure Islamic monotheism). They make unlawful what has been made lawful for them, and they command them to associate partners with Me for which no authority has been revealed’. [Ṣaḥeeh Muslim 2865]

Tarot Reading and Knowledge of The Unseen

Allaah (The Most High) said: [وَعِنْدَهُ مَفَاتِحُ الْغَيْبِ لَا يَعْلَمُهَا إِلَّا هُوَ – And with Him are the keys of the Ghaib (all that is hidden), none knows them but He].

In his explanation of the above Ayah, Imaam Ash-Shanqeetee (may Allaah have mercy upon him] brought a number of robust proofs to demonstrate and establish that even the most knowledgeable amongst the creation- Allaah’s Messengers and Angels-do not posses knowledge of the Unseen. The Imaam [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:

Proof A: Aa’isha (may Allah be pleased with her] was falsely accused and the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] did not know whether she was innocent or not until Allaah informed him, saying: [ أُولَٰئِكَ مُبَرَّءُونَ مِمَّا يَقُولُونَ- ‘Such (good people) are innocent of (each and every) bad statement which they say].

Proof B: Prophet Ibraaheem (peace be upon him) slaughtered a lamb for the angels, whilst not knowing that they were angels until they informed him that they were angels. Allaah said that the angels said to him: [إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَىٰ قَوْمِ لُوطٍ – We have been sent against the people of Lout (Lot). (11:70)]

Proof C: When the angels came to Prophet Lut (peace be upon him), he did not know that they were angels, and due to that Allaah said: [عَصِيبٌ سِيءَ بِهِمْ وَضَاقَ بِهِمْ ذَرْعًا وَقَالَ هَٰذَا يَوْمٌ – He was grieved on their account and felt himself straitened for them (lest the town people should approach them to commit lewdness with them). He said: This is a distressful day]. And because of this Allaah said that lut said: [لَوْ أَنَّ لِي بِكُمْ قُوَّةً أَوْ آوِي إِلَىٰ رُكْنٍ شَدِيدٍ – Would that I had strength (men) to overpower you, or that I could betake myself to some powerful support (to resist you). (11:80)]. He did not know the news the angels brought until they said to him: [إِنَّا رُسُلُ رَبِّكَ لَنْ يَصِلُوا إِلَيْكَ – Verily, we are the Messengers from your Lord!]

Proof D: Prophet Ya’qoob (peace be upon him) lost his eye sight due to grieving for Yusuf (peace be upon him), whilst he was in Egypt. He did not know anything about Yusuf until Allaah reveal news about him.

Proof E: Prophet Sulaymaan (peace be upon him), even though Allaah gave him authority over the devils and subjugated the wind in his service, did not know about the people Bil Qees until the Hud’hud came with news about them. Allaah said that the Hud’hud said: [أَحَطْتُ بِمَا لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهِ وَجِئْتُكَ مِنْ سَبَإٍ بِنَبَإٍ يَقِينٍ – I have grasped (the knowledge of a thing) which you have not grasped and I have come to you from Saba’ (Sheba) with true news].

Proof F: Prophet Nuh (peace be upon him) did not know that his son – who was drowned- was not from those members of his household who were to be saved, as Allaah said that Nuh said: [رَبِّ إِنَّ ابْنِي مِنْ أَهْلِي وَإِنَّ وَعْدَكَ الْحَقُّ – O my Lord! Verily, my son is of my family! And certainly, Your Promise is true.(11:45)]

He did not know the reality of the affair until Allaah informed him, saying:

[بِهِ عِلْمٌ ۖ إِنِّي أَعِظُكَ أَنْ تَكُونَ مِنَ الْجَاهِلِينَ قَالَ يَا نُوحُ إِنَّهُ لَيْسَ مِنْ أَهْلِكَ ۖ إِنَّهُ عَمَلٌ غَيْرُ صَالِحٍ ۖ فَلَا تَسْأَلْنِ مَا لَيْسَ لَكَ – He said: “O Nuh (Noah)! Surely, he is not of your family; verily, his work is unrighteous, so ask not of Me that of which you have no knowledge! I admonish you, lest you be one of the ignorant].

And indeed Allaah (The Most High) also stated in Surah Hud about Nuh that he said to his people: [وَلَا أَقُولُ لَكُمْ عِنْدِي خَزَائِنُ اللَّهِ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ الْغَيْبَ -And I do not say to you that with me are the Treasures of Allah, “Nor that I know the Ghaib (unseen)].

Proof G: And when Allaah said to the Angels: [هَٰؤُلَاءِ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ أَنْبِئُونِي بِأَسْمَاءِ -Tell Me the names of these if you are truthful]; Allaah said that the angels replied: [قَالُوا سُبْحَانَكَ لَا عِلْمَ لَنَا إِلَّا مَا عَلَّمْتَنَا -They (angels) said: “Glory be to You, we have no knowledge except what you have taught us.

Therefore, it is very clear that the most knowledgeable amongst the creation, the Messengers and the Angels, do not know anything of the unseen except what Allaah makes known to them. Allaah (The Most High) informs His Messengers what He wishes from the knowledge of the Unseen, as Allaah stated:

[وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُطْلِعَكُمْ عَلَى الْغَيْبِ وَلَٰكِنَّ اللَّهَ يَجْتَبِي مِنْ رُسُلِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ ۖ- Nor will Allah disclose to you the secrets of the Ghaib (unseen), but Allah chooses of His Messengers whom He pleases].

And Allaah said: [إِلَّا مَنِ ارْتَضَىٰ مِنْ رَسُولٍ عَالِمُ الْغَيْبِ فَلَا يُظْهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيْبِهِ أَحَد- (He Alone) the All-Knower of the Gha’ib (unseen), and He reveals to none His Gha’ib (unseen).” Except to a Messenger (from mankind)…(3)

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Sincerity to Allaah in worship and pure Islamic monotheism is a tree in the heart, its branches are the (good) deeds and its fruits is the good life in this world and everlasting bliss in the afterlife. And just as the fruits of Paradise are neither cut off (by change of season) nor are they out of reach, likewise this is the case with the fruits of pure Islamic monotheism and sincerity to Allaah in worship. Shirk, lies and showoff is a tree in the heart, its fruits – in the worldly life- are fear and anxiety, grief and distress in the soul and oppression against the heart. Its fruits in the afterlife are the tree of Zaqqoom and an everlasting punishment. And Allaah has mentioned these two trees in Surah Ibraaheem:

See you not how Allaah sets forth a parable? A goodly word as a goodly tree, whose root is firmly fixed, and its branches (reach) to the sky (i.e. very high). Giving its fruits at all times, by the Leave of its Lord, and Allaah sets forth parables for mankind in order that they may remember. And the parable of an evil word is that of an evil tree uprooted from the surface of earth, having no stability. [Surah Ibraaheem. Aayaat 24-26] (4)

What One Should Fear When Praised, Especially After Witnessing Deviation of Those Who Were Praised for Firmness!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

A man among the companions of the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] used to say when he was praised: [اللَّهُمّ لاَ تُؤاَخِذْنِي ِبَما يَقُولُونُ ، وَاغْفِرْ لِي مَالا يَعْلَمُونَ – O Allaah! Do not take me to account for what they say and forgive me what they do not know].

Al-Allaamah Zaid Bin Haadee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated: This is one of the invocations and supplications [which a person supplicates with], specifically when praised and he hears it; for example, when it is said, ‘’Fulaan [i.e. such and such person] is upright and righteous’’, so he hears what was said about him, or such praise reached him, or it is said, ‘’Such and such person is very truthful, such and such is a good doer, he is a charitable person, a scholar” and so on. If he hears this, then a believer fears for himself and feels shy that he is the opposite of what the people say about him, and because of this he re-examines himself and becomes active in performing deeds to make him righteous- a good doer and worthy of the praise given to him by the people.

If he does this, he will be successful and blessed; but if he becomes deceived by what the people say and becomes oblivious of his mistakes and shortcomings, shaytaan will afflict him with self-importance. Due to this, when a believer hears the people commending and praising him with [attributes] of righteousness, he utters this dhikr: ‘’O Allaah! Do not take me to account for what they say]’’ – Meaning: ‘’Do not hold me account due to this praise and commendation, and the good characteristics [mentioned about me].’’ That is because he fears for himself.

The soul of a person is  weak, so he says, ‘’And forgive me for what they do not know (about me)’’- Meaning: ‘’The people commend a person based on what they know about him outwardly, so the person fears that he has Mukhaalafaat [i.e. deeds that are in opposition to the commands and prohibitions in the Sharee’ah] which are unknown to the people, so he asks his Lord [The Blessed and Exalted] not to hold him to account and to forgive those sins of his, shortcomings and mistakes which are unknown to the people. The children of Adam are deficient, but there are those amongst them who fall short and return to [repentance or rectification] and are active again in the performance of virtuous deeds after falling short. And amongst them are those who fall short and persist upon (sin) until punishment comes upon them. (1)

One of The Greatest Blessings In Our Era – By Shaikh Abdus Salaam Burgess

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Shaikh Abdus Salaam Burgess [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:

“The favour Allaah bestows on a servant of Allaah to be upon the pure Sunnah and follow its upright path is a great blessing that obligates on one to thank and remember Allaah a lot. That is because to act upon the Sunnah in these times is a mighty affair and also a strange thing”. (a) (1)

The Pillars of Gratitude

Allaah [The Most High] said:

In order that you may mount on their backs, and then may remember the Favour of your Lord when you mount thereon, and say: “Glory to Him Who has subjected this to us, and we could never have it (by our efforts). And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return!” [43:13-14]

Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Mentioned in this Aayah are the three pillars of gratitude and they are: acknowledgement of Allaah’s blessings, proclaim and speak about Allaah’s blessings, submit to Allah and utilise these blessings to carry out acts of worship for the sake of Allaah (alone). That is because the intent behind the statement of Allah: [وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ – And verily, to Our Lord we indeed are to return] is an acknowledgement of recompense and make preparations for it. The objective behind these favours is that they are an aid by way of which the slave (seeks) to fulfil that which Allah has commanded him (i.e. acts of worship and obedience etc)

And regarding Allaah’s saying: [ثُمَّ تَذْكُرُوا نِعْمَةَ رَبِّكُمْ إِذَا اسْتَوَيْتُمْ – And then may remember the favour of your Lord when you mount thereon], this is a specific mention of the (favour) in that at the time in which the person enjoys those favours because blessings intoxicates many amongst the creation, makes them heedless, evil and ungrateful. Therefore, this state in which Allah commanded (a person to remember Him for His Favours) is a medication for this destructive ailment. When the person recalls that he is completely surrounded by the blessings of Allah and that nothing is from him (or herself), but rather blessings are (from Allah) – its means are facilitated and its obtainment made easy (by Allaah), he (she) submits to Allah, humbles him (or herself), thanks and Praises Allaah. And by way of this he (or she) is given continuous blessings. (2)

Footnote a: Strangeness of the Sunnah: Amr Ibn Awf [may Allaah be pleased with him] reported that Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him], said, “Verily, the religion began as something strange and it will return to being strange, so blessed are the strangers who restore my Sunnah that people have corrupted after me”. (3)

The Prophet [peace and blessings be upon him] said, “Allaah will raise for this Ummah at the end of every hundred years the one who will revive its religion for it”. (4)

“Allaah will raise for this Ummah”– Meaning the Ummatul Ijaabah [i.e. the Muslims]. “At the end of every hundred years”– Meaning at the end of every hundred years when there is little knowledge of the Sharee’ah and the authentic Prophetic Tradition, whilst ignorance and religious innovation is rife. “One who will revive its religion for it”– Meaning a scholar who is alive and well known. He will clarify the authentic Prophetic Tradition and distinguish it from the religious innovations. knowledge will be abundant again and its adherents will be aided, and the proponents of religious will be overcome and degraded. This reviver is non else but a scholar who has sound understanding of the religious sciences that deal with acts of worship, the underlying wisdoms of the religion and the texts that deal with beliefs of the heart. (5)

Imaam Ibn Katheer [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “A group amongst the scholars- including Ahmad Bin Hanbal – stated that Umar Bin Abdul Azeez was alive at the end of the first hundred years and he is more worthy and entitled to be entered into this category of people due to his leadership and striving to establish truth”. (6)

Imaam Ibnul Mubaarak [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “Know O my brother that indeed death is an honour for every Muslim who meets Allaah whilst being upon the Sunnah, and truly to Allaah we belong and truly to Him we shall return. And to Allaah do we complain about our loneliness, the passing away of the brothers, the scarcity of helpers and the emergence of bidah (newly invented beliefs and acts of worship in the religion). And to Allaah do we complain about the magnitude of what has occurred to this Ummah due to the passing away of the scholars and Ahlus Sunnah, and the emergence of bidah. And I say as Ibraaheem At-Taymiy said: “O Allaah! Protect me through your religion and the Sunnah of your Prophet. (Protect me) from differing about truth; from following desires and the paths of misguidance and the Shubuhaat Al Umoor (i.e. those affairs that appear to be the truth but are falsehood in reality); from deviation and (blameworthy) argumentation”. Wakes Up In The Morning Upon Guidance and Become Misguided In The Evening Vice Versa!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Abu Hurairah [may Allaah be pleased with him] narrated that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Hasten towards good deeds, because there will be trials which would be like a part of a dark night, wherein a man wakes up as a believer and becomes a disbeliever by night or he begins the night as a believer and wakes up as a disbeliever, and a man would sell his religion for a portion of the worldly life”. [Saheeh Muslim Kitaab Al-Imaan number: 118]

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee [may Allaah preserve him] said:

Many trials have occurred and from them the trial of the khawaarij, the Rawaafid and killing. Deviation and misguidance have occurred – either fighting and trials (related) to politics or trials (related) to creed, methodology and what is similar to it. Many people who were to be destroyed were destroyed and the one whom Allaah protected was saved and (enabled) to adhere to the true methodology. Indeed, all praises and thanks be to Allaah, many were saved due to the clarity and establishment of this methodology (of the Salaf), just as the Messenger promised that “There will not cease to be a group from my Ummah manifest and upon the truth, neither harmed by those who forsake them nor by those who oppose them until the hour is established”.

So, Allaah’s proof has been established against the people from the time Muhammad was sent until the establishment of the hour. A time will not come except that His proofs are established by the inheritors of the prophets [i.e. the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah]- the people of sound knowledge, the Taa’ifatul Mansoorah [victorious group] that adheres to the truth and will not depart from it until the establishment of the hour. Allaah’s proof has been established against (the people) and through them (i.e. the upright scholars) Allaah saves many people, and all the praises and thanks be to Allaah.

Therefore, during every trial, they (the scholars of Ahlus Sunnah) must openly proclaim the truth and clarify it for the people. They should distinguish – for them – between guidance and misguidance, truth and falsehood, the manner in which the people will be safeguarded from these trials, the path through which they will be saved from entering into trials and other affairs (by way of which) Allaah guides this (victorious) group when (they) face every trial. And indeed the author [i.e. Imaam Al-Aajurree] reiterated this hadeeth, “A man will wake up in the morning as a Muslim and by evening he becomes a disbeliever”. Yes, a man may be upon truth and then you do not see him thereafter except that he has become a disbeliever or a misguided innovator! This is nothing else but humiliation! He used to claim that he is upon good, a possessor of knowledge and upon the truth, but then he falls into disbelief-either major disbelief that exits a person from the fold of Islam or the one that does not exit a person from the fold of Islam. This is ignominy and Allaah’s Protection is sought. How many people have been humiliated and exposed by a trial! You come to know of them and their false claims are unveiled, and their reality is clarified for you. [An Excerpt from ‘Adh-Dharee’ah Ilaa Bayaan Maqaasid Kitaab Ash-Sharee’ah – 1/200-202. Shaikh Abdullah Al-Bukhaaree and Those Who Attack Him – By Al-Allaamah Ubaid Al-Jaabiree

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiree [may Allaah preserve him] responded when asked about some of those who ascribe themselves to Salafiyyah but divert the students from the lessons of Shaikh Abdullah al-Bukhaari [may Allaah preserve him] and speak ill of him, so he said: “Shaikh Abdullah Al-Bukhaari is our brother; a beloved one to us and our companion; it would not be an exaggeration to say that Shaikh Abdullah Al-Bukhari is worthy of being referred to as Allaamah; that he has known Shaikh Abdullah for more than 15 years years or perhaps twenty years; that Shaikh Abdullah is a Salafi, a person of hadeeth and fiqh, who relies or depends on evidences, and that Shaikh Abdullah refutes some of those who stir up discord- those who mix up affairs (or cause confusion), and they are those who speak ill of people occasionally by way of corrupt principles and innovated fundamentals. Shaikh says that one attends the lessons of Shaikh Abdullah Al-Bukhaari and benefit from him…” https://youtu.be/x7jPxR3CjJU paraphrased
