In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.
Shaikh Abdul Waahid Abu Khadeejah [may Allaah protected him] quoted Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi Al-Mad’khali [may Allaah preserve him] as follows: It is well known from ahlus-Sunnah that whoever fell into an affair necessitating unbelief that takfīr is not performed until the proof is established upon him. As for the one who falls into an innovation, then he is of categories.
The first category: Ahlul-Bid’ah such as the Rawāfid, the Khawārij, the Jahmiyyah, the Qadariyyah, the Mu’tazilah, the Grave-worshipping Sūfīs, the Murji’ah, and whoever is connected to them [in our times] such as al-Ikhwān, at-Tablīgh and those similar to them. For these innovations the Salaf did not make it a condition that the proof be established due to the fact that the ruling upon them is [in accordance to] the innovation. So regarding the Rāfidī, it is said about him, “Innovator (mubtadi’)”. As for the Khārijī, it is said about him, “Innovator”, and so on, regardless of whether the proof is established upon him or not.
The second category: The one who is from ahlus-Sunnah and then he fell into a clear-cut innovation such as the saying that the Qur’ān is created, or the denial of the Pre-Decree, or he has the views of the Khawārij or other than that. Then upon this person tabdī’ is performed, i.e. he is declared an innovator – and this was the behavior of the Salaf. An example of this is what is narrated from Ibn ‘Umar (radi Allaahu ‘anhu), when he was asked regarding the Qadariyyah, he answered: “When you meet them, inform them that I am free from them, and they are free from me.”
The third category: Someone who was from ahlus-Sunnah, well known for seeking the truth but he fell into a subtle bid‘ah. So if this person dies, then it is not permitted to make tabdī’ of him, rather he is mentioned with good. And if he is alive, he is advised and the truth is made clear to him, and one does not hasten to make tabdī’ of him, but if he persists [upon innovation], then he is declared an innovator.
Shaikhul-Islām Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah, died 728H) stated: “There are many from the Mujtahidīn (Scholars) of the Salaf and of later times who spoke with and acted upon innovation whilst not knowing it to be an innovation. This was either due to weak ahadīth that they thought were authentic; or Quranic Verses they understood in an incorrect manner; or due to an opinion one would hold in an issue because the texts had not reached him. So if a man fears his Lord to the best of his ability, he enters into the saying of Allāh: “Our Lord, do not take us to account if we are forgetful or mistaken.” And there occurs in a hadīth that Allāh stated [in response]: “I have done so.” And this matter has been explained in another place.”
Nevertheless the point is that it is not permitted to place unrestricted conditions regarding the establishment of proofs upon ahlul-Bid’ah in general, and nor negate these conditions unrestrictedly – and the affair is as I have mentioned.
So my advice to the students of knowledge is that they hold fast to the Book and Sunnah and that they are disciplined and grounded upon the Manhaj of the Salaf in every aspect of their Religion – and specifically in the arena of takfīr, tafsīq [6] and tabdī’ so that there is not excessive disputing and argumentation in these matters.
I particularly advise and encourage the Salafī youth that they abandon those affairs that sow malice, rancor, differing and splitting – affairs that are hated by Allāh and which He warned against – affairs that the noble Messenger (salallaahu ‘alaihi wassallam), the Companions and the Righteous Salaf warned against. Also [I advise] the Salafī youth to strive to spread those affairs that lead to love, affection and brotherhood between them – those affairs that are loved by Allāh (the Mighty and Majestic) and His Messenger (salallaahu ‘alaihi wassallam). May the salutations and peace of Allāh be upon our Prophet, his family and his Companions. Indeed, the state of this silly (or stupid) fool is that he has no basis for his statements other than desires and conjecture. Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah said: “A person must have (sound) comprehensive fundamental principles to which the branches of a subject matter are referred back to in order to speak based on knowledge and justice; then he knows how those branches of the subject matter are established (or the way in which they are impacted by the sound comprehensive principles), otherwise, he will remain upon lies and ignorance in the branches and upon ignorance and oppression in the sound comprehensive fundamental principles, and thus great corruption occurs”. [Al-Majmoo Al-Fataawaa 19/203]
Therefore, we ask few simple questions to the supporters of this vile Usaamah Ibn Ataayaa [may Allaah guide him or break his back]: (1) Which of the sound fundamental principles of the pious predecessors did he utilise to pass this judgement that we are ahlul bidah, upon Haddaadiyyah or Khaarijiyyah? (2) Which sound fundamental principles – both in Aqeedah and Manhaj – did we oppose or nullify in order to enter into the circle of ahlul bidah, Haddaadiyyah and khaarijiyyah? (3) Name a single bidah we have initiated that warrants these descriptions? Indeed, the bidah of the groups and sects – mentioned in the above article transmitted from Al-Allaamah Rabee by Shaikh Abdul Waahid – are well-known to every Salafi, however vile Usaamah did not and cannot cite a single one that applies to us. This is the same destructive mistake Dr Muhammad Bin Haadi fell into by rushing to pass judgements and refuses to recant, and thus was reprimanded by Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi. Read here by Shaikh Abu Iyaad [may Allaah preserve him]– https://twitter.com/AbuIyaadSP/status/1018974451269033986/photo/1 Reminder: Shaykh Rabiʿ’s request for Shaykh Muḥammad bin Hādī to justify his tabdīʿ of Salafī students and shaykhs and to explicitly name the major scholars he accused of being “affected” and “destroyed” by the “Ṣaʿāfiqah” – one month, no answer.
Vile Usaamah’s first calamity is that he objects to the warning that was transmitted from Al-Allaamah Rabee by Al Maktabatus Salafiyyah against the staunch supporters of Dr Muhammad Bin Haadi, such as Shaikh Sulaymaan Ar-Ruhayli, so he warns against those who warn against the supporters of a person who commits excess; then he added a more destructive excess by passing the judgement that we are ahlul bidah and haddaadees, and that amongst us are hidden khawaarij etc Amazing indeed is the affair of this reckless – stupid fool! When Al-Allaamah Rabee warned against Dr Muhammad’s oppressive judgements and false Tabdee, and when both Shaikh Abu Khadeejah and Shaikh Abu Iyaad warned against the gathering of Shaikh Sulaymaan Ar-Ruhayli, they adhered to the sound principles of Salafiyyah, unlike Usaamah, who solely followed conjecture and vain desires. Muhammad Ibn Hādi’s Allegations and the Response of the Major Scholars in Light of the Manhaj of the Salaf
Therefore, who in reality is roaming around the dangerous borders of Haddaadiyyah – those who have neither cited a single sound fundamental principle of Salafiyyah nor a single bidah committed by those whom they accuse of Haddaadiyyah and Khaarijiyyah, or those who cited sound principles when they issued warning against mistakes, but refrained from unjustified Tabdee?! Indeed, everyone can see that it is vile Usaamah who is roaming around the dangerous borders of Haddaadiyyah and nearly falling into it. The Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: “The over-stringent ones are destroyed”. Imaam Nawawi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “The over-stringent ones are those who look too deeply (into affairs) and are excessive- those who exceed the Hudood (prescribed legislated Sharee’ah boundaries) in their statements and actions”. [Sharh Saheeh Muslim. Vol 16. page 180 ]
Usaamah – due to passing judgements without any proof, but rather based on desires and conjecture- is exposing himself to a great danger. The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “The judges are three: one will go to Paradise and two to Hell. A man who knows the truth and judges with it will enter paradise; a man who knows the truth but judges with the opposite of it will enter the fire, and a man who judges for the people based on ignorance will enter the fire”. [Reported by Imaam Abu Dawud 3573] Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “And when it is the case that the one who judges between the people in [affairs] of wealth, blood [i.e. murder cases, physical violence etc] and honour will enter the hell fire if he is not a just scholar, then how about the one who passes judgements – without knowledge and justice – on creeds, religions, the fundamentals of belief, divine knowledge and the general fundamental principles related to different subject matters”. [Al-Jawaabus Saheeh 1/26-30. slightly paraphrased]
Indeed, nothing remains to be said about this vile moron in this affair except that he has followed desires and conjecture. Allaah [The Exalted] said to His Prophet regarding those who spoke based on conjecture:
[وَلَا تَسْتَفْتِ فِيهِم مِّنْهُمْ أَحَدً – And consult not any of them about (the affair of) the people of the Cave]- Meaning, because their speech regarding it is based on guessing at the unseen, and conjecture can be of no avail against the truth. This proves that it is not permissible for a person to issue a verdict when he is not worthy of it- either due to his inability to issue a verdict in that affair or due to fact that he does not care what he says about the affair because he does not possess that fear of Allaah that will stop him from speaking about affairs that are unclear to him, which may harm him in the afterlife. [An Excerpt from Tafseer As-Sadi]
We ask Allaah for safety and not to abandon us to our weak selves.
O Ever Living! O The Self Subsisting, Upon Whom Everything Depends! By Your mercy I seek assistance; rectify for me all of my affairs and do not leave me to myself, even for the blink of an eye. [Imaam Albaani declared it Hasan in Silsilah As-Saheehah Number 227]
