Hostile French Militant Secularists and The Khaarijites – The Root of The Problem!

The Root of The Problem is The Extremists Amongst The French Militant Secularists Who Seek to Impose Their Views In The Name of “Fighting Against Separatism” and The Khaarijites Who Commit Crimes In The Name of Islam
Allaah [The Exalted] said: [وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ -And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you know (the truth)]. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Aayah 42]
Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: Allaah forbade us from mixing truth with falsehood, and thus leading to concealment of the truth. Mixing truth with false is by mixing the two until one of them is confused for the other. This is forgery and deceit by way of which what is made apparent is the opposite of what it is in reality. Likewise, when truth is confounded with falsehood, the culprit manifests falsehood in the image of truth and speaks with a statement that carries two meanings- a correct meaning and false meaning, so the listener is under the illusion that the speaker intends the correct meaning, whilst he (i.e. the speaker) intends the corrupt meaning. Indeed, some of the hostile French militant secularists, demagogues, ideologues and rabble-rousers are well-known for concocting ideas to wage war against Islam and there is no doubt that this foolish behaviour of theirs was inherited from one of their kings – Louis IX, who in the year 1250 was captured whilst on a crusade against the Muslims of Egypt. He was imprisoned and later released after paying a large ransom. However, whilst in prison he utilized his time to think about ways in which to plot against Islaam and the Muslims, so shaytaan inspired him with the following plots: Firstly: The war in the battlefield between the Christians of the west and the Muslims should be replaced with a war based on ideas and cultural supremacy. Secondly: Prepare the West to corrupt the creed of the Muslims and distort the image of Islaam in the world. (2)
So, at present we hear some of them claiming that Muslims are separatists who never want to embrace the ideals of the French nation. Firstly, what is separatism? “It is the belief held by people of a particular race, religion, or other group within a country that they should be independent and have their own government or in some way live apart from other people”. If this is what the hostile opponents intend, then indeed the Muslim who understand Islam would not behave in this manner in a foreign country. Shaikh Abdul Waahid – Abu Khadeejah [may Allaah preserve him] stated, “Many Islamic countries are ruled by Muslims in line with their faith and the teaching of the Qur’an and Hadeeth. They can hear the call to prayer, they are not allowed to cohabit with the opposite sex, and must marry if they want to start a family, they cannot drink alcohol, gamble and so on. So those laws help Muslims live a more Islamic life. Offences such as rape, pedophilia and murder carry severe punishments because they are: (a) destructive crimes, (b) go against Islamic teachings, (c) ruin the fabric of civil society. The British government is a secular government (i.e. not based on religion). It allows practices that Muslims are not allowed to indulge in, such as drinking alcohol, eating pork, partaking in interest transactions, having sexual relations before marriage. However Muslims do not have to partake in practices that go against their faith. There were many practices that took place in Makkah when the Prophet (peace be upon him) lived there for the first thirteen years of his Prophethood, the worst of those being idolatry. Other oppositions to Islam also took place (such as the killing of baby girls), but he persevered patiently with the people and did not abandon calling them to worship Allah alone and to good conduct and morals. He lived amongst them and had great concern for their spiritual well-being”. (3)
Indeed, it absolutely clear that our Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] lived amongst the people and dealt with them in the best manner; rather even before receiving revelation he was given the title Al-Ameen – the trustworthy one. And as Shaikh Abu Khadeejah stated, “There were many practices that took place in Makkah when the Prophet (peace be upon him) lived there for the first thirteen years of his Prophethood, the worst of those being idolatry. Other oppositions to Islam also took place (such as the killing of baby girls), but he persevered patiently with the people and did not abandon calling them to worship Allah alone and to good conduct and morals. He lived amongst them and had great concern for their spiritual well-being”. Therefore, a practicing Muslim – one who understands the Qur’aan and the authentic Sunnah in the manner they were understood by the companions of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) – will not violate the rights of other members of society, but he also strives to refrain from all un-Islamic practices and maintains his Muslim identity – in belief, mannerisms, dress, dealings etc. Imaam Al-Albaanee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Part of the perfection of Islam is that it laid down rulings and divine legislation in order for Muslims to preserve their Islamic personality and are not (deviated) – in any era – towards the (Un-Islamic) personality of another nation”. (4) If this is what the hostile French militrant secularists regard to be separatism, then indeed they are no different from the hostile pagans of Makkah when they persecuted the believers. When the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] attracted people to Islam due to his excellent manners and the manifest evidences he conveyed from his Lord, the pagans had no other way of opposing him and his companions with evidences, except through propaganda, slander, fearmongering, deception and lies. This is the behaviour of the hostile French demagogues at present. As for the Kharijites (terrorists), they embark upon another extreme by harming their fellow non-Muslim citizens in the name of Islam. Islaam is free from their deeds, ideas and beliefs. All the above articles clearly manifests the fact that a Muslim should be well behaved wherever he or she resides, whilst striving to adhere to pure Islam and keep away from everything that is hated by Allaah. However, the hostile French militant secularists, ideologues, demagogues and rabble-rousers intend nothing but to oppose Muslims for nothing other than the fact that they want Muslims to adopt their un-Islamic practices. Indeed, their hostile behaviour will only manifest the truth and increase their frustration. We ask Allaah to protect su and the Muslims of France from the trial of the hostile militant secularists, grant us patience and firmness. Allaah [The Exalted] said:
وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ يَـٰقَوۡمِ إِن كُنتُمۡ ءَامَنتُم بِٱللَّهِ فَعَلَيۡهِ تَوَكَّلُوٓاْ إِن كُنتُم مُّسۡلِمِينَ
فَقَالُواْ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوَكَّلۡنَا رَبَّنَا لَا تَجۡعَلۡنَا فِتۡنَةً۬ لِّلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
وَنَجِّنَا بِرَحۡمَتِكَ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ
And Musa (Moses) said: “O my people! If you have believed in Allah, then put your trust in Him if you are Muslims (those who submit to Allah’s Will).” They said: “In Allah we put our trust. Our Lord! Make us not a trial for the folk who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoing). And save us by Your Mercy from the disbelieving folk.” [Surah Yunus. Aayah 84-86]
In these Aayaat, Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] informed us about His Prophet Moosaa [alayhis salaam]- that he commanded his people – Bani Israaeel- to place their trust in Allaah whilst facing their enemies, Fir’awn and his people; so Moosaa’s people – the Believers- fulfilled the command and then they said: [عَلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوَكَّلۡنَا – In Allah we put our trust]- Meaning: We hold firmly to Allah, surrender to Him all our affairs and upon Him we depend. Then they supplicated, saying: [رَبَّنَا لَا تَجۡعَلۡنَا فِتۡنَةً۬ لِّلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ – Our Lord! Make us not a trial for the folk who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoing)]. There are two statements of the Mufassiroon regarding the meaning of this Aayah, and the first one is that it means, “Neither allow them to defeat nor overcome us, and thus they think that they have the upper hand because they are upon truth and we are upon falsehood; so they become deceived and this increases them in transgression and disbelief”.
The other explanation is that this Aayah means, “Neither punish us Yourself [O Allaah] nor through the hands of Fir’awn and his people, lest they say, ‘Had it been that you [Bani Israaeel] were upon truth, then you would not have been punished’, and thus they think that they are better than us and are put to trial by way of that. [وَنَجِّنَا بِرَحۡمَتِكَ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِينَ – And save us by Your Mercy from the disbelieving folk]- Meaning: “Our Lord! Save us – by Your mercy – from unbelievers, so that we are safe from their evil, establish our religion properly, establish its acts of worship and manifest it without being opposed or challenged.
Some of the Mufassiroon indicated that the mention of At-Tawakkul before the mention of Ad-Du’aa [supplication] is a notification regarding the fact that it is obligated on the suppliant to place his trust in Allaah first and foremost, so that his supplication is answered. This is similar to that which Imaam Muslim [rahimahullaah] reported from Ibn Abbaas [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] that Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] used to say:
اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْتُ وَبِكَ خَاصَمْتُ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِعِزَّتِكَ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ أَنْ تُضِلَّنِي أَنْتَ الْحَىُّ الَّذِي لاَ يَمُوتُ وَالْجِنُّ وَالإِنْسُ يَمُوتُونَ
O Allaah! To You I submit; in You I believe; in You I place my trust and reliance; to You I turn in repentance and in obedience with true Faith (Islamic Monotheism), and to You I return for proof to deal with my enemies and Your enemies. O Allaah! I seek refuge in Your Might and Power, none has the right to be worshipped except You, lest You allow me to go astray [i.e. due to my own fault]. You are The Ever-Living that never die, while the Jinn and mankind die”. (5)
