All praise and thanks be to Allaah, and peace and blessings be upon Allaah’s Messenger, his family, companions and those who follow his guidance. To proceed: The quality of truthfulness is one of the greatest foundations of religion and the worldly affairs, so neither can the worldly affairs be upright nor the religion (firmly) established based on lies, betrayal and deceit. Truthfulness and affirmation of truth is the trustworthy relationship between the Messengers and those who believed in them. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

وَالَّذِي جَاءَ بِالصِّدْقِ وَصَدَّقَ بِهِ أُولَئِكَ هُمُ الْمُتَّقُونَ * لَهُمْ مَا يَشَاءُونَ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ ذَلِكَ جزَاءُ الْمُحْسِنِينَ

And he (Muhammad) who has brought the truth (this Quran and Islamic Monotheism) and (those who) believed therein (i.e. the true believers of Islamic Monotheism), those are Al- Muttaqun (the pious and righteous persons). They shall have all that they will desire with their Lord. That is the reward of Muhsinun (good-doers). [Surah Az-Zumar. Aayaat 33-34]

And Allaah stated regarding lying:

فَمَنْ أَظْلَمُ مِمَّنْ كَذَبَ عَلَى اللَّهِ وَكَذَّبَ بِالصِّدْقِ إِذْ جَاءهُ أَلَيْسَ فِي جَهَنَّمَ مَثْوًى لِلْكَافِرِينَ

Then, who does more wrong than one who utters a lie against Allah, and denies the truth [this Quran, the Prophet (Muhammad SAW), the Islamic Monotheism, the Resurrection and the reward or punishment according to good or evil deeds] when it comes to him! Is there not in Hell an abode for the disbelievers? [Surah Az-Zumar. Aayah 32]

And due to the status of truthfulness and affirmation of truth in the sight of Allaah, in Islam, among the people of sound intellect and the people of sound natural disposition, and good effects of (truthfulness and affirmation of truth), and due to the danger of lying and denying the truth, I wanted to covey this statement, which is derived from Allaah’s Book, the Sunnah of Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him], the biography and circumstances of some of the truthful people and affirmers of truth amongst the companions of Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him]. I ask Allaah to help and guide me to undertake everything I can to offer advice and give clarification to my Muslim brothers, and I ask Him to place us all among the truthful, those eager to adhere to it and steadfast upon it; and place us all among those who love the truth, those active in following and believing in it.
