Why Some Possessors of Political Authority and Worldly Sciences May Behave As If Fellow Humans Are Merely Cogs in The Machine.!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Why Some Possessors of Political Authority and Worldly Sciences May Behave As If They Consider Fellow Humans to Be Merely Cogs in The Machine and Must Serve What They Need Or Consider Them a Burden and Hindrance to Their Resources and Ambitions

Deviation From The Purpose Behind Our Existence In This Worldly Life: Al-Allaamah Saaleh Aala Shaikh [may Allaah preserve him] stated, “Allaah created the heavens and the earth for the fulfilment of two obligations – His Rights and the rights of His servants. Every Messenger and the divine scriptures were sent to explain these two obligations: worship Allaah alone, disbelieve in all the rivals and false gods that are associated with Him as partners, and obey His Messenger in that particular era and place. Allaah revealed His Books and sent His Messengers to establish these two obligations. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

[لَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا رُسُلَنَا بِٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتِ وَأَنزَلۡنَا مَعَهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ وَٱلۡمِيزَانَ لِيَقُومَ ٱلنَّاسُ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ – Indeed We have sent Our Messengers with clear proofs, and revealed with them the Scripture and the Balance (justice) that mankind may keep up justice. [Surah Al-Hadeed. Aayah 25]

Allaah said: [وَلَقَدۡ بَعَثۡنَا فِى ڪُلِّ أُمَّةٍ۬ رَّسُولاً أَنِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ – And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): “Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities, etc. i.e. do not worship Taghut besides Allah).” [ Surah An-Nahl. Aayah 36]

And because of this, the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: “O Mu’adh, do you know what is the right of Allah upon His servants?” I said, “Allah and his messenger know best.” The Prophet said, “To worship Him alone and to associate none in worship with Him. And do you know what is their right upon Him?” I said, “Allah and his messenger know best.” The Prophet said, “Not to punish them if they do so.” [Bukhaari 6938]

The obligations which all the divine laws brought in general and the Islamic legislation in specific are: To fulfil Allaah’s Right, fulfil the rights of the creation and the rights of the human being. There is no doubt that this will be made very clear when you contemplate on Allaah’s Book and the Sunnah of His Messenger”. (1)

When Person Seeks to Give Rights to Another Person, He Will Not Be Free From Desires, Because The One Who Codifies Laws, Regardless of What That May be, Will Include His Desires In It: The Shaikh also stated, “The Declaration of Human Rights has its own circumstances and motives, and it also has its objectives that serve the principles of the major colonial empires. This term [i.e. Human Rights] is oft-repeated, but it is obligated on a Muslim to be proud of his religion, confident that the rights a person has is great if granted by Allaah [The Almighty], because no one is more knowledgeable than Allaah regarding the affairs of the creation and what is best for them, as Allaah [The Almighty] said: [أَلَا يَعْلَمُ مَنْ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ اللَّطِيفُ الْخَبِيرُ – Should not He Who has created know? And He is the Most Kind and Courteous (to His slaves) All-Aware (of everything)]. [Surah Al-Mulk. Aayah 14]

Therefore, Allaah [Glorified and Exalted be He] – in what is legislated – is the one who preserves the rights of humankind. This is why many have carried out research in this subject matter and proven that the Islamic legislation, the life story of our Prophet [may peace and blessings be upon him], the rulings in the Qur’aan and the Sunnah, the actions of the four caliphs and those who came after them are the greatest early document of human rights- lofty in its pronouncement and application. It was fully implemented in the era of the Prophet [peace and blessings be upon him] and in the era of the Rightly Guided Caliphs [may Allaah be pleased with them]. Many researchers have written on this topic, and among them are those who carried weak views and wanted to make every article of that declaration a precedent in the history of Islam or in Islamic law. Others carried out a good and knowledge based research in various magazines and articles, and they clarified that some of the human rights declared in the West and by the United Nations has been affirmed by the Islamic legislation and some are in conflict with its very foundations”.

The honour Allaah has granted the children of Adam is based on two affairs: first, human beings are honoured due to their innate disposition, physical traits and that which Allaah subjugated to them in the skies and the earth. Second, Allaah raised the children of Adam above animals and the other creations, gave them preference above many of the created things in every affair through which they achieve happiness, the beneficial affairs in their livelihood and their relationships with other humans. And due to this, the divine legislation was sent in order to clarify the rights of Allaah and the rights of Allaah’s servants. Allaah [The Almighty] said:

And indeed We have honoured the Children of Adam, and We have carried them on land and sea, and have provided them with At-Taiyibat (lawful good things), and have preferred them above many of those whom We have created with a marked preference. [Surah Al-Israa. Aayah 70]

In the beginning of the Aayah, Allaah said, [وَلَقَدْ كَرَّمْنَا بَنِي آدَمَ- And indeed We have honoured the Children of Adam], and at the end of the Aayah, Allaah said: [وَفَضَّلۡنَـٰهُمۡ عَلَىٰ ڪَثِيرٍ۬ مِّمَّنۡ خَلَقۡنَا تَفۡضِيلاً۬ – and have preferred them above many of those whom We have created with a marked preference].

So, this above includes a mention of the creation, revelation of the divine legislation, the basis of social organisation, and the command that they worship Allaah alone and follow the Messengers [i.e. because Allaah created them, commanded them to fulfil His rights and the rights of their fellow human beings, sent them guidance – through the Messengers – which shows them how to live as individuals and members of society, and provided them with livelihood from the skies and the earth, without which they cannot survive – neither individually nor as a society]”.

The Shaikh also said, “The perfect and lofty human rights are those which the Lord of humankind has given to the human being. When a human being wants to give rights to another person, he will not be free from desires, because the one who codifies laws, regardless of what that may be, will include his desires in it. And because of this, you will find that Western man made laws, such as French man made law, American man made law and other man made laws are subject to change from time to time – either because the law was first initiated for the sake of the country’s interests when it was established, or due to the influence of the [influential personalities or leaders etc] in that country in some matters, or because the time changed and thus the circumstances changed. And due to this, Allaah clarified that the pre-Islamic judgement is tantamount to a judgement based on desires. Allaah [Glorified be He] said: [وَأَنِ احْكُم بَيْنَهُم بِمَا أَنزَلَ اللَّهُ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ أَهْوَاءَهُمْ – And so judge (you O Muhammad) between them by what Allah has revealed and follow not their vain desires]. [Surah Al-Maa’idah. Aayah 49]”.

Indeed, there is no need for erlaboration on what the Shaikh has stated. Every person with some common sense would absolutely agree with the Shaikh that “When a human being wants to give rights to another person, he will not be free from desires, because the one who codifies laws, regardless of what that may be, will include his desires in it”. (2)

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Even though there is something in the paths of analogical reasoning and reflection that will lead to knowledge, however sometimes it cannot give detail explanation in a dispute between the people of the earth due to the minute details and ambiguities [in that dispute], and at other times due to the fact the people differ when prioritising necessities. Therefore, due to this Allaah [The Most High] commanded [us] to return to the revelation in times of dispute. Allaah [The Most High] said:

[ كَانَ ٱلنَّاسُ أُمَّةً۬ وَٲحِدَةً۬ فَبَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ وَأَنزَلَ مَعَهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ لِيَحۡكُمَ بَيۡنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فِيمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ‌ۚ -Mankind were one community (i.e. upon Tawheed and Allaah’s Sharee’ah) and Allah sent Prophets with glad tidings and warnings, and with them He sent the Scripture in truth to judge between people in matters wherein they differed]. [Surah Al-Baqarah’ Aayah 213] Therefore, Allaah [The Most High] designated the revealed Books [i.e. the Qur’aan being the final of them] as the judge between the people in matters wherein they differ. (3)

“If you say that the intellect is to be given precedence over the revelation, then which intellect should we follow? Are the intellects of the people combined in the intellect of one man or do they differ? There are intellects of the philosophers, the atheists, the heretics, the people of evil desires and those who confound truth with falsehood; and due to this one of the Salaf said, “Had the desires been one, it would have been considered to be the [basis of] truth”; therefore, we say, “Had the intellects been one, it would have been considered to be the [basis of] truth”. (4)

Deviation From The Upright Goals Sought After From leadership and Authority: Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “The difference between the desire for righteous leadership as opposed to merely desiring leadership: It is the difference between exalting the command of Allaah and being sincere to Allaah as opposed to love of exalting oneself and hastening towards the fulfilment of desires. Indeed the one who is sincere to Allaah and exalts Him, he loves that his Lord is obeyed and not disobeyed; [loves that] Allaah’s Word should be uppermost and that all affairs of the religion should be established sincerely for the sake of Allaah, and [that] the servants should obey Allaah’s commands and keep away from what Allaah has forbidden. He is sincere in his servitude to Allaah and sincere to Allaah’s creation in calling them to the path of Allaah. So he loves to be [an upright] leader in the religion; rather he asks his Lord to make him from the leaders of the righteous people who are followed, just as he is a follower of the righteous. Therefore, if this servant -[i.e. this person] who calls to Allaah- loves that he is considered dignified in the eyes [of the people], revered and beloved in their hearts and is one followed amongst them, so that he is trusted by them and they follow the example of the Messenger through him, then this [desire of his] does not harm him; rather he is praised for it. That is because the caller to Allaah loves that Allaah is obeyed and singled out in worship. He loves to be a means by way of which [people] are aided to [obey Allaah, single out Allaah in worship and follow the Messenger]. And due to this, [when] Allaah mentioned those chosen slaves of His- whom He praised in His revelation and will grant the best of reward on the day they meet Him- He mentioned them with the best of their deeds and characteristics, and then said:

[ وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا هَبۡ لَنَا مِنۡ أَزۡوَٲجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعۡيُنٍ۬ وَٱجۡعَلۡنَا لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا – And those who say: “Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring who will be the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the Muttaqun]. (pious) 25:74

So they ask Allaah to grant them the comfort of the eye by making their wives and offspring obedient to Allaah, and to grant them happiness in their hearts due to being followed by the righteous in obedience and servitude to Allaah. That is because a trustworthy leader in the religion co-operates with [others] upon obedience [to Allaah and His Messenger], and that is to call them to [sound] leadership in the religion, whose foundation is patience and certainty, as Allaah [The Most High] said: [ وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنۡہُمۡ أَٮِٕمَّةً۬ يَہۡدُونَ بِأَمۡرِنَا لَمَّا صَبَرُواْ‌ۖ وَڪَانُواْ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا يُوقِنُونَ – And We made from among them (Children of Israel), leaders, giving guidance under Our Command, when they were patient and used to believe with certainty in Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). [32:24]

Therefore, in their supplication -[in Soorah Al-Furqaan Ayah 74]- to Allaah that He makes them leaders of the righteous people, is that Allaah guides them, grants them success, bless them with beneficial knowledge and righteous actions–outwardly and inwardly–without which [sound] leadership in the religion cannot be achieved. This is different from [merely] seeking leadership, for indeed its seekers hasten to obtain it in order to achieve their goals, [such as] exaltedness in the earth; enslavement of the hearts to them, attachment to them and aiding them in all their goals, whilst they are exalted and everyone subservient to them. This pursuit of leadership brings about corruption-which none can enumerate except Allaah- such as rebellion, envy, transgression, enmity, oppression, trials, being ardent in defending oneself at the expense of violating the rights of Allaah, exalting those despised by Allaah and belittling those honoured by Allaah”. (5)

Ponder upon the above statement of Imaam Ibnul Qayyim regarding the corruption of those who seek leadership for other seeking the pleasure of Allaah: “Its seekers hasten to obtain it in order to achieve their goals, [such as] exaltedness in the earth; enslavement of the hearts to them, attachment to them and aiding them in all their goals, whilst they are exalted and everyone subservient to them. [End of quote]

Indeed, this behaviour led to tyranny in the past, such as that which is well known about the likes of Fir’awn. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Verily, Fir’aun (Pharaoh) exalted himself in the land and made its people sects, weakening (oppressing) a group (i.e. Children of Israel) among them, killing their sons, and letting their females live. Verily, he was of the Mufsidoon]. [Surah Al-Qasas. Aayah 4]

[وَجَعَلَ أَهۡلَهَا شِيَعً۬ا – and made its people sects]- Meaning: Different group that were organised and distinguished, and he utilised each group in that which he desired in his kingdom. (5.1) He made them into sects and different groups to serve him and they went along with what he wanted and obeyed him. (6) He made them into different distinct groups, dealt with them based on his evil desires and subjugated them as he wanted by means of his power and authority. (7) He divided them into different sects and they went along with him in everything he desired of evil and corruption, or he used some as a means to get others to obey him; or he made them into different distinct groups under his service and used every group in some type of work, such as construction, tillage, earthwork [drilling etc] and other burdensome work, and whoever did not work was beaten, so they served him by doing so; or he made them into sects and incited hatred and enmity between them, so that they do not come to an agreement [or become united in their stance against him]. (8)

[ إِنَّهُ ۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِينَ – Verily, he was of the Mufsidoon]- Meaning: Those whose intention is neither to rectify the religious nor worldly affairs, and this was from his corrupt behaviour in the earth; (9) committing unlawful killing and being disobedient to Allaah. (10)

Ponder upon the above statements of the scholars regarding the different ways Fir’awn utilised to control the people: “He made them into different distinct groups, dealt with them based on his evil desires and subjugated them as he wanted by means of his power and authority”. “He divided them into different sects and they went along with him in everything he desired of evil and corruption, or he used some as a means to get others to obey him; or he made them into different distinct groups under his service and used every group in some type of work, such as construction, tillage, earthwork [drilling etc] and other burdensome work, and whoever did not work was beaten, so they served him by doing so; or he made them into sects and incited hatred and enmity between them, so that they do not come to an agreement [or become united in their stance against him]”. [End of quote]

He even claimed that he is a god besides Allaah due the authority he was given! Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: “Allaah brought the servant out of his mother’s womb whilst he knew nothing, not able to do anything and owned nothing; neither able to give nor take; neither able to harm nor benefit. This state of neediness until he reached a more perfect state is something witnessed and tangible for everyone [to see], and i is well known that this is the very essence of the human being and he remains upon that state. He does not move from this state and enters into a state of Lordship – a state in which he becomes absolutely self-sufficient and not need of anyone and anything; rather he does not cease being a slave, a needy one to his Rabb [Allaah the Creator, All-Provider and the Only One Who Controls and Sustains Everything] and His Faatir [Allaah, The Originator and Creator of Everything].

However, after the human being was granted blessings, shown mercy, granted the means to reach a more perfect state, and Allaah -out of His Perfect Kindness and Generosity- granted him apparent blessings [i.e. to recognise the Messengers who were sent with Islamic Monotheism, granted him the lawful pleasures of this world, including health, good looks, etc.] and the hidden blessings [i.e. granted him the innate disposition to recognise his Lord when the Messenger calls him to Eemaan, and granted him knowledge, wisdom, guidance for doing righteous deeds, and also the pleasures and delights of the Hereafter in Paradise, etc.], granted him hearing, sight and a heart, and taught him [i.e. gave him the means to knowledge], granted him ability, subjugated things to him, granted him [the desire and enthusiasm to pursue what is beneficial, and take action], enabled him to receive the service of those of his kind [i.e. gave him authority over other humans], subjugated to him horses and camels, gave him the ability to capture the animals in the sea, drop birds from the sky, subjugate wild animals, dig wells [irrigate water etc], plant trees, dig the earth, learn how to build, acquire the things that are of benefit to him, guard against and protect himself from that which is harmful to him; then the Miskeen [i.e. this absolutely poor, dependent human being] thinks that he has a share of authority and claims – for himself – a kingship [or authority] similar to that of Allaah [Glorified be Allaah and free is Allaah from all imperfections, partners, coequals, similarities etc], and begins to see himself in a manner other than what he was at first, forgets his [prior] state of non-existence, poverty and neediness, until he becomes as if he was not that poor and needy thing”. (11)

Today, the agenda of some of those given authority is well known, because after deviating from Allaah’s guidance, they employ different ways to control fellow human beings in the name of improving the human condition, so you hear them saying that population growth is a problem and the earth will not be able to sustain millions of its inhabitants in the near future. The root of the problem is not population growth, rather it is their desire to control others. Shaikh Abu Khadeejah [may Allaah preserve him] stated: “According to biased and indoctrinated scientists, who are educated in Western universities and institutions funded by their goverments and huge multi-national companies, another cause of poverty is population growth in countries that cannot afford to feed the extra mouths. This however is false notion, since the world has enough farmland, resources, water, cattle, fish and wild game to support entire nations and continents. The European colonialist powers spent many centuries (400 to 500 years) conquering Asia, Africa, the Far-East, the Americas and elsewhere, and they stripped the natural resources of those conquered lands – then they took the natural resources, wealth and humans (as slaves), and built their industrial revolution on that plundered wealth on the back of wealth and human resource they pillaged unjustly from others. Today, when those nations wish to build their economies, strengthen their independence, increase their populations, build their defences in order to make their nations strong, they are prevented through international treaties related to health and social engineering, goods embargos, tariffs, climate-control measures, etc. Then they are told that they are poor because their nations have too many mouths to feed! The reality, however, is that the African continent and other regions across Allah’s world have enough land, fertile pastures, animals, mineral wealth, oil, gas, iron ore, copper, gold and silver, etc., to be able to feed employ and their nations. And it is Allah who gives from His bounty to whom He wills as a test to see how they will conduct themselves with the blessings He bestows –– and it Allah who withholds as He Wills to test them; will they turn to Him in repentance, seek His forgiveness, and worship Him alone? So that He may change their condition to one of plentiful prosperity? Most Western countries have a decreasing population. However, in poor countries, the populations seem to be increasing, and many of those countries are Muslim nations. Muslims, as rule, are not allowed to use contraception out to fear of not being able to provide for their children”. (12)

Therefore, instead of addressing the root causes of poverty, as stated by Shaikh Abu Khadeejah in this article, https://abukhadeejah.com/the-causes-of-poverty-in-light-of-climate-change-population-growth-and-other-factors-part-ii-ethics-2-4/ , the misguided seekers of authority and absolute control divert the focus on population growth due to a desire to exploit. This was a tactic employed by their predecessors – the Eugenists. The founder of the eugenics movement was called Francis Galton – [1822-1911]- and he was influenced by Charles Darwin’s kufr idea “The Origin of Species”. This Galton concentrated on the idea of heritability of different traits, especially the heritability of intelligence and how to counter society’s so-called scarcity of talent and character, and that poverty, vagrancy and crime were due to the transfer of degenerate traits from parents to their child. His satanic ideas influenced some so-called intellectuals in Britain, the US, Germany and other countries at the time. Indeed, all praise and thanks be to Allaah, this not how a believer addresses problems in society, because it is nothing but seeking for scapegoats so as to justify neglect of the vulnerable in society. Some of those arrogant and opinionated eugenicists held that preventing the poor from having children was a means of protecting society because it stopped them from producing people similar to them. Thirty-two American states passed eugenic-sterilization laws during the twentieth century, and between sixty and seventy thousand people were sterilized under them. However, this has had no effect in improving virtue, just as Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated, “Among the most amazing of affairs is that many contemporary writers and politicians seek to remedy the many social ills and try to do so do from many angles, however as for the problem of deviation from the path of Allaah -whose surge has carried away the majority of young people, they have not rushed to stop it by returning to sound faith and certainty; rather they have been abandoned to wander blindly in their misguidance and wavering in beguilement, and thus the social ills they seek to remedy gives birth to other social ills, because if the path to remedying social ills is not based on sound faith and sound religion, they will increase and become worse”. He [may Allaah have mercy upon him] also said, “What type of progress is this? A progress whose people became like vicious wild animals and whose abiding practice is oppression, annihilation, colonization of weak nations and depriving them of their rights?” (13)

The Imaam also said, “They developed these affairs through a development that is disconnected and severed from submission to Allāh and the religion ordained by Allāh… it has caused harm and led its proponents to savagery and barbarism whose outcomes has been destruction, ruin and evils that has no comparison”. (14). He said, “Indeed, it is impossible to rectify the souls and acquire virtue solely through the worldly sciences. Experience and clearly witnessed circumstances are the greatest proofs regarding this affair, because despite its advancement and vastness it has been unable to nurture and rectify the souls. What the Religion of Islaam propagates is that which is entrusted with this rectification – it is what will guide the thoughts towards the truthful and authentic sources of knowledge and guide the actions of the people towards good and prevent them from evil. Islam is The Rectifier of the Creeds and Manners- the thing that cultivates the thoughts [upon righteousness], urges towards virtuousness and prevents from depravity. The essence of that which the religion calls to regarding belief in the Unseen, which includes belief in Allaah and that which He possesses of Names, Attributes and Actions of perfection; belief in Angels, belief in recompense for one’s good and bad deeds in this life and the next, which cannot be known except through the Messengers, is what acquaints a person with the fact that rectification – in reality – is not possible through other than sound belief and the religion of Islaam. Therefore, even if the worldly sciences rectify [some] affairs based upon that which people know in detail, it will still not be equal [in perfection, excellence etc] to the knowledge of the Messengers [in the least]. It will neither reach that which is reached through the knowledge of the Messengers nor can it influence the souls in the manner in which the knowledge of the Messengers has done; for indeed the souls do not voluntarily submit except through belief in Allaah, belief in His Angels, belief in His Books, belief in His Messengers and belief in the hereafter. And without this, voluntary submission is impossible, as is well known regarding human nature”. (15)

Some of them have also deviated in the subject matter of medicine and science, as Shaikh Abu Iyaad [may Allaah preserve him] stated: The disbelievers in their sciences, are operating upon Darwinian Socialism, Eugenics, upon an evolutionary model, and they believe that they have reached the stage of “Self-directed evolution”, due to enhanced understanding of the programmatic nature of biological life. They believe that they can consciously direct evolution now, in a more controlled and purposeful way. This is a proof against them and their arrogant disbelief as it is from the greatest of signs, Ayat, for Allaah’s rububiyyah (Oneness in Lordship), which they witness in a way no different to how tyrants of the past, such as Firaun and the polytheists of various nations, were shown signs”. (16)

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi [may Allaah preserve him] said, “The knowledge brought by the Prophets is rectification for the people, a guide for them towards the right path and removes them from the darkness they are living in – the darkness of disbelief and ignorance. As for the knowledge of the philosophers and the heretics, then what Allaah has stated truly applies to it: [ فَلَمَّا جَآءَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلۡبَيِّنَـٰتِ فَرِحُواْ بِمَا عِندَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡعِلۡمِ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَہۡزِءُونَ – Then when their Messengers came to them with clear proofs, they were glad (and proud) with that which they had of the knowledge (of worldly things): And that at which they used to mock, surrounded them (i.e. the punishment)]. [Surah Ghaafir’ Aayah 83]

It is the knowledge which the people boast about nowadays, whether it is medicine, engineering, astronomy, [modern] politics and economics. After the Prophets came to them – to remove them from the darkness of ignorance and enter them into the light of the knowledge and Eemaan, they were glad and boastful with the knowledge they possess, (just as Allaah has stated): [Then when their Messengers came to them with clear proofs, they were glad (and proud) with that which they had of the knowledge (of worldly things): And that at which they used to mock, surrounded them (i.e. the punishment)]. [Surah Ghaafir’ Verse 83] These sciences become a trial and tribulation if they are not regulated by the knowledge which Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] brought”. (17)

In the next post some of their oppressive colonialist and post-colonialist economic policies will be addressed InShaaAllaah.
