In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy

Allah [The Exalted] said:

وَلَا يَأۡتُونَكَ بِمَثَلٍ إِلَّا جِئۡنَـٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَأَحۡسَنَ تَفۡسِيرًا

And they bring no (argument or objection by way of a) similitude (in order to criticise this Qur’ān and oppose your message) except that We bring you the truth and the better explanation thereof (through a similitude that is superior to theirs, provides detail and invalidates their objection). (1)

[وَلَا يَأۡتُونَكَ بِمَثَلٍ – And they bring no (argument or objection by way of a) similitude]- Meaning, by which they (attempt) to oppose and repel the truth as well as your message; [إِلَّا جِئۡنَـٰكَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَأَحۡسَنَ تَفۡسِيرًا – except that We bring you the truth and the better explanation thereof (through a similitude that is superior to theirs, provides detail and invalidates their objection)]- Meaning, We sent down to you the Qur’an, which has all truth in its meaning, as well as clear and flawless elucidation of its wordings, because all of its meanings are truth and credibility, not tainted by falsehood or doubt from any angle. (2)

Allah [The Exalted] said: [ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ الْآيَاتِ وَلِتَسْتَبِينَ سَبِيلُ الْمُجْرِمِينَ – And thus do We explain the signs (to you O Muḥammad) in detail, and so that the way of the criminals may become evident (to you)] [Surah Al-An’aam. Aayah 55] (3)

Indeed, militant secularists and their goons leave no stone unturned in their quest to justify sodomy, and so they desperately sought to beautify this great sin through the use of a rainbow flag, which they attempted to portray as a symbol of sexual diversity.

To begin with, the rainbow is far from being associated with something detested by Allah and His Messengers. Second, any diversity related to beliefs, ideas, opinions, thoughts, or behaviour that opposes the final divine revelation is tantamount to manifest misguidance and falsehood. Allah [The Exalted] said:

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ فَرَّقُوا۟ دِينَهُمْ وَكَانُوا۟ شِيَعًا لَّسْتَ مِنْهُمْ فِى شَىْءٍ إِنَّمَآ أَمْرُهُمْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ يُنَبِّئُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَفْعَلُونَ

Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects (all kinds of religious sects), you (O Muhammad) have no concern in them in the least. Their affair is only with Allah, Who then will tell them what they used to do. [Surah Al-An’aam 159]

Meaning, those who divided their religion after they had been united upon Tawheed (pure Monotheism) and adherence to Allah’s Shariah, but then they became sects and groups, then indeed you – O Messenger – are innocent of them. [Tafseer Al-Muyassar]

Allah [The Exalted] said:

فَإِنْ ءَامَنُوا۟ بِمِثْلِ مَآ ءَامَنتُم بِهِۦ فَقَدِ ٱهْتَدَوا۟ وَّإِن تَوَلَّوْا۟ فَإِنَّمَا هُمْ فِى شِقَاقٍ فَسَيَكْفِيكَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ

So if they believe in the same as you believe in, then they have been [rightly] guided; but if they turn away, they are only in dissension, and Allah will be sufficient for you against them. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing. [Surah al-Baqarah. Ayah 137]

Meaning, if the unbelievers among the Jews, Christians, and others believe in the same as you believe based on what the Messenger (Muhammad) has conveyed, then they are rightly guided to the truth, but if they turn away, then indeed they are upon severe (blameworthy) disagreement. [Tafseer Al-Muyassar]

Abu Musa [may Allah be pleased with him] reported that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] said, “My example and the example of what I have been sent with is that of a man who came to some people and said, O people! I have seen the enemy’s army with my own eyes and I am a plain warner; so protect yourselves!’ Then a group of his people obeyed him and fled at night proceeding stealthily till they were safe, while another group of them disbelieved him and stayed at their places till morning when the army came upon them and killed and ruined them completely. So this is the example of that person who obeys me and follows that truth which I have brought (the Qur’an and the Sunnah), and the example of the one who disobeys me and disbelieves the Truth I have brought”. Imaam Sufyan Ibn Uyaynah [may Allah have mercy upon him] used to say, “Indeed, the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] is the greatest criterion, and all matters are presented to him [i.e. for judgment] based on his manners, path, and guidance; thus, whatever agrees with this is truth, and whatever disagrees is falsehood”. [Al-Jaami Li-Akhlaaq Ar-Raawi Wa Aadaab As-Saami. Page 8]

Thirdly, there are those who utter the absurd claim that Britain’s colonial legacy still affects LGBT politics around the world! This is a false claim because homosexuality and anal sex has always been considered a major abomination in all Muslim societies – before and after Britain’s direct colonial rule. The Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Cursed is the one who approaches a woman in her back passage”. (4)

Third, individuals who abhor this great abomination and unnatural behaviour are condemned by militant secularists, who sometimes accuse them of being backward and intolerant, or of having no authority to make moral judgments. This reminds one of how those who believed that people should not hate sodomy treated believers and the great Prophet Lut (peace be upon him). Allah said:

وَلُوطًا إِذۡ قَالَ لِقَوۡمِهِۦۤ أَتَأۡتُونَ ٱلۡفَـٰحِشَةَ مَا سَبَقَكُم بِہَا مِنۡ أَحَدٍ۬ مِّنَ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِينَ
إِنَّڪُمۡ لَتَأۡتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ شَہۡوَةً۬ مِّن دُونِ ٱلنِّسَآءِ‌ۚ بَلۡ أَنتُمۡ قَوۡمٌ۬ مُّسۡرِفُونَ
وَمَا ڪَانَ جَوَابَ قَوۡمِهِۦۤ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓاْ أَخۡرِجُوهُم مِّن قَرۡيَتِڪُمۡ‌ۖ إِنَّهُمۡ أُنَاسٌ۬ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ

And (remember) Lout (Lot), when he said to his people: “Do you commit the worst sin such as none preceding you has committed in the ‘Alamin (mankind and jinns)? “Verily, you practise your lusts on men instead of women. Nay, but you are a people transgressing beyond bounds (by committing great sins).” And the answer of his people was only that they said: “Drive them out of your town, these are indeed people who want to be pure (from sins)!” [Surah Al-A’raaf. Ayaat 80-82]

[ أَخۡرِجُوهُم مِّن قَرۡيَتِڪُمۡ‌ۖ – Drive them out of your town]- Meaning drive Lut and the believers out. [إِنَّهُمۡ أُنَاسٌ۬ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ – these are indeed people who want to be pure (from sins)!]- Meaning, they want to refrain from having sexual relations with men and women in their anuses. (5) They either said Lut and the followers wanted to avoid engaging in this obscene deed, in which case they shouldn’t dwell in their city, or they said this as mockery. (6) Qataadah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Blamed for something that is not blameworthy”. (7)

Finally, even though true believers abhor all types of illegal sexual intercourse, including, sodomy, however, they do not advocate vigilantism because Islam forbids it. Shaikh Abu Khadeejah [may Allah preserve him] said: “Prescribed punishments can only be carried out by the legal authority in a country that practices Islamic Law (i.e. in a Muslim country), and there must be clear evidence that actual sex had taken place. The Muslim penal code carries out punishments on the basis of the unlawful act that is committed and not on the basis of a person’s inclinations where no illegal act has been committed. This is the view of all of the famous scholars and jurists of Islam in line with the punishment dealt to the people of Lūt (in the Qur’an) and the hadīth of the Prophet. A Muslim, regardless of which country he lives in, is not allowed to physically harm those he regards to be sinners, nor incite others to do so. Vigilantism goes against Islamic teachings because it creates an anarchic, unjust, and disorderly society”. (8)
