[5.1] Some of our youth say, “Don’t give Abu Makkah attention because he is an attention seeker”

In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

May Allah reward our young brothers for their suggestion that the elders should not pay too much attention to Abu Makkah, but we must remind them that young people can, just like the elders, set excellent examples for others or serve as a great source of Fitna and misguidance.

Firm Young Men

Allah [The Exalted] stated about the youth of the cave:

We narrate unto you (O Muhammad ) their story with truth: Truly! They were young men who believed in their Lord (Allah), and We increased them in guidance. And We made their hearts firm and strong (with the light of Faith in Allah and bestowed upon them patience to bear the separation of their kith and kin and dwellings, etc.) when they stood up and said: “Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth, never shall we call upon any ilah (god) other than Him; if we did, we should indeed have uttered an enormity in disbelief. “These our people have taken for worship aliha (gods) other than Him (Allah). Why do they not bring for them a clear authority? And who does more wrong than he who invents a lie against Allah. [Surah Al-Kahf. Ayaat 13-15]

Misguided and Foolish Young Men

Abu Hurairah [may Allah be pleased with him] said, “I heard the truthful and trusted by Allah [i.e., the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)] saying, “The destruction of my Ummah will be through the hands of young men from Quraish”. (1)

Ali Bin Abi Talib [may Allah be pleased with him] said, “No doubt I heard Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] saying, “During the last days there will appear some young foolish people who will say the best words but their faith will not go beyond their throats (i.e. they will have no faith) and will go out from (leave) their religion as an arrow goes out of the game. So, wherever you find them, kill them, for whoever kills them shall have a reward on the Day of Resurrection.” (2)

Ali [may Allah be pleased with him] said: Whenever I narrate to you anything from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) believe it to be absolutely true as falling from the sky is dearer to me than that of attributing anything to him (the Holy Prophet) which he never said. When I talk to you of anything which is between me and you (there might creep some error in it) for battle is an outwitting. I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: There would arise at the end of the age a people who would be young in age and immature in thought, but they would talk (in such a manner) as if their words are the best among the creatures. They would recite the Qur’an, but it would not go beyond their throats, and they would pass through the religion as an arrow goes through the prey. So when you meet them, kill them, for in their killing you would get a reward with Allah on the Day of Judgement. (3)

First, despite the fact that Abu Makkah is not a Khaariji — and may Allah protect us and him from this calamity, however, he has clearly demonstrated his foolish youthful, and immature thought by hastening to attack those who refute Dr. Muhammad Bin Haadi, a man who is guilty of false Tabdee. Therefore, youth, like elders, can either be firm and moderate within the confines of the Sunnah, or they can be negligent or extreme. We discovered that some of the most outspoken, the most extreme, vile, and disrespectful participants in the Fitna of the Hajaawirah were young people, such as Abu Fajr (footnote a). Similarly, some of the loudest, most extreme, vile, and disrespectful participants in the Fitna of the Musaafiqah (footnote b) are young people, such as Abu Makkah and his ilk.

Therefore, even though some of our young brothers say that Abu Makkah craves attention and should not be given what he is desperately looking for, however, we hope they understand that this loud and disrespectful mouth that seeks to revile any elder who rebuts Dr. Muhammad Bin Haadi’s Ghuluww must not be allowed to think that he can say whatever he desires without any consequences. Without a doubt, our Salaf reprimanded youth when they were being too overbearing. We shall not respond to his insults, but we shall rebut his absurd and misleading analogies. May Allah guide him and protect us from his extremism Aameen.
