Why Are Some French Academics Among French Neocolonialists Throwing a Tantrum After Some of Their Former Muslim Colonies De-officialised French?!

Abu Dharr [may Allah be pleased with him] reported that Allah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] said, “Allah – The Almighty – said, ‘O My servants! I have forbidden injustice for Myself and I have forbidden it among you, so do not oppress one another’”. [Saheeh Muslim 2577]

Imaam As-Sadi [may Allah have mercy on him] rebuked nations that boast about their technological accomplishments while being the most tyrannical and harsh to other nations. He said, “What kind of progress is this when people behave like vicious wild animals whose constant practice is to oppress, destroy, colonize, and deprive weak nations of their rights?!” The Imam also said, “They developed these (worldly sciences) in a way that is disconnected from submission to Allah and the religion He has ordained. It has caused harm and driven its overseers to savagery and barbarism, with the results being destruction, ruin, and evils beyond any comparison”. (1)

There is no doubt that the French colonialists were the most cruel, exploitative, and unjust during the colonial and early post-colonial eras. Anyone looking for information on this subject will find a wealth of material, and their former Muslim colonies in Africa are among the poorest countries as a result of the exploitation of these arrogant, snobbish, self-entitled French colonialists and those descendants of theirs who continue upon this cursed path. When some of their former Muslim colonies recently de-officialised French, the language their progenitors forced on the former Muslim colonies through which they continue to brainwash and wage an ideological war against Muslims, some of their academics started throwing tantrums. One of the initiators of this satanic ideological war was their King Louis IX, who was captured in 1250 while on a crusade against the Egyptian Muslims. After paying a significant ransom, he was eventually freed from prison. However, while in prison, he used his time to scheme against Islam and Muslims, therefore Shaytaan inspired him with the following plots: To begin, the struggle on the battlefield between Christians in the West and Muslims should be replaced with a war of ideas and cultural superiority. Second, prepare the West to corrupt Muslims’ beliefs and tarnish Islam’s image around the world. (2)

So, one of the main satanic instruments for corruption and subjugation has always been their language that is now been abandoned in some of their former African Muslim colonies. However, the African Muslim must approach this matter from a position of sound principles, regardless of whichever language is used as the official language.

First, one of the principles (in Islam) is to understand that words (or terms) are of two types: those mentioned in the Qur’an and the Sunnah, and every believer is obligated to affirm them, affirm what Allah and His Messenger have affirmed and negate what Allah and His Messenger have negated. The words (or terms) affirmed by Allah are true, and the ones Allah negated are negated in truth since Allah speaks the truth and guides us to the straight path. The words (or terms) of divine revelation are sanctified, and it is from perfection in knowledge that one seeks after the (sound meanings) that the Messenger intended by them, in order to affirm what he affirmed and negate the meanings he negated. That is because we are required to believe and affirm everything he has said and follow him in everything he has ordered. As for the words (or terms) that are not found in the Qur’an or the Sunnah, nor did the pious predecessors hold a consensus on whether they are negated or affirmed, it is not incumbent on anyone to agree with the one who negates or confirms them until their intended meaning is explained. So, if their intended meaning agrees with the (revelation) conveyed by the Messenger peace be upon him], they are affirmed; but if their intended meaning contradicts the (revelation), they are rejected. (3)

Second, one must be proactive lest our children are deceived by the Neocolonialists and other deceivers. Imam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allah have mercy upon him] was asked: What are the means used by the West to promote its ideas (in Muslim lands)?

Answer: The means that the West uses to promote its ideas are many, including: [I] Attempting to seize the minds of Muslim children and instill Western concepts in them, so a child believes that the best path is the path of the West in everything, whether in what he believes regarding religions and creeds, or what he speaks of languages, or what he adheres to by way of manners, habits and the paths he takes to pursue affairs. [II] Giving close attention to a large group of Muslim children from every country, taking care and nurturing them, so when they are completely submerged in Western ideas and then return to their countries, they are heaped with praise and commended until they take up positions and leadership in their countries, and thus they promote Western ideas and establish educational institutions that go along with the Western curriculum or are subject to it. [III] Revitalizing the teaching of Western languages ​​in Islamic countries and restricting the language of the Muslims, especially the Arabic language- the language of the Noble Qur’an with which Allaah revealed His book and through which Muslims worship their Lord in prayer, during pilgrimage, in their supplications and other than that. Included in this is that they encourage the destructive calls that fight the Arabic language, make attempts to weaken adherence to it in the lands by calling for the vernacular, establish many study programs intended to corrupt Arabic grammar and so-called language development, glorifying what they call folk literature and national heritage. (4)

Indeed, we have an upright example in the Qur’an regarding those individuals to whom Allah granted great authority in the East and the West, and they benefited Allah’s slaves, and they are not like those who brutalized others in African and elsewhere for over 400 hundred years, and continue exploiting them under unjust and inhumane post-colonial economic agreements to this day. As for the pious servants of Allah who were given authority on earth, they travelled through the earth and communicated with other people to benefit them and repel harm by the Will of Allah. Allah (The Exalted) says about Dhul Qar’nayn [peace be upon him]:

ثُمَّ أَتۡبَعَ سَبَبًا
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا بَلَغَ بَيۡنَ ٱلسَّدَّيۡنِ وَجَدَ مِن دُونِهِمَا قَوۡمً۬ا لَّا يَكَادُونَ يَفۡقَهُونَ قَوۡلاً۬

Then he (Dhul Qarnayn) followed (another) way, until he reached between two mountains, he found, before (near) them (those two mountains), a people who scarcely understood a word. [Surah Al-Kahf. Ayaat 92-93]

Imam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: They didn’t understand because of their foreign language, their foreign manner of comprehending, and the way their hearts perceived affairs. However, Allah bestowed on Dhul Qarnayn [peace be upon him] the means of knowledge by which he comprehended the language of these people and they could speak to each other, so they complained to him about the harm committed by Yajooj and Majooj, two big nations from the progeny of Adam [peace be upon him]. Allah said:

قَالُواْ يَـٰذَا ٱلۡقَرۡنَيۡنِ إِنَّ يَأۡجُوجَ وَمَأۡجُوجَ مُفۡسِدُونَ فِى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَهَلۡ نَجۡعَلُ لَكَ خَرۡجًا عَلَىٰٓ أَن تَجۡعَلَ بَيۡنَنَا وَبَيۡنَهُمۡ سَدًّ۬ا
قَالَ مَا مَكَّنِّى فِيهِ رَبِّى خَيۡرٌ۬ فَأَعِينُونِى بِقُوَّةٍ أَجۡعَلۡ بَيۡنَكُمۡ وَبَيۡنَہُمۡ رَدۡمًا
ءَاتُونِى زُبَرَ ٱلۡحَدِيدِ‌ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا سَاوَىٰ بَيۡنَ ٱلصَّدَفَيۡنِ قَالَ ٱنفُخُواْ‌ۖ حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا جَعَلَهُ ۥ نَارً۬ا قَالَ ءَاتُونِىٓ أُفۡرِغۡ عَلَيۡهِ قِطۡرً۬ا
فَمَا ٱسۡطَـٰعُوٓاْ أَن يَظۡهَرُوهُ وَمَا ٱسۡتَطَـٰعُواْ لَهُ ۥ نَقۡبً۬ا
قَالَ هَـٰذَا رَحۡمَةٌ۬ مِّن رَّبِّى‌ۖ فَإِذَا جَآءَ وَعۡدُ رَبِّى جَعَلَهُ ۥ دَكَّآءَ‌ۖ وَكَانَ وَعۡدُ رَبِّى حَقًّ۬ا

They said, “O Dhul Qarnayn! Indeed, Gog and Magog [Yajooj and Majooj] are spreading corruption throughout the land. Should we pay you tribute, provided that you build a wall between us and them?” He said, “What my Lord has provided for me is far better. But assist me with resources, and I will build a barrier between you and them. Bring me blocks of iron!” Then, when he had filled up the gap between the two mountains, he ordered, “Blow!” When the iron became red hot, he said, “Bring me molten copper to pour over it”. And so they could neither scale nor tunnel through it. He said, “This is a mercy from my Lord. But when the promise of my Lord comes to pass, He will level it to the ground. And my Lord’s promise is ever true”. [Surah Al-Kahf. Ayaat 92-98] (5)

Finally, we must constantly remember that the oppression perpetrated by the barbarous colonialists and their successors will not end until we return to everything that is pleasing to Allah and His Messenger. We ask Allah:

اللَّهُمَّ بِعِلْمِكَ الْغَيْبَ وَقُدْرَتِكَ عَلَى الْخَلْقِ أَحْيِنِي مَا عَلِمْتَ الْحَيَاةَ خَيْراً لِي وَتَوَفَّنِي إِذَا عَلِمْتَ الْوَفَاةَ خَيْراً لِي، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَشْيَتَكَ فِي الْغَيْبِ وَالشَّهَادَةِ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ كَلِمَةَ الْحَقِّ فِي الرِّضَا وَالْغَضَبِ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ الْقَصْدَ فِي الْغِنَى وَالْفَقْرِ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ نَعِيماً لَا يَنْفَذُ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ قُرَّةَ عَيْنٍ لَا تَنْقَطِعُ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ الرِّضِا بَعْدَ الْقَضَاءِ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ بَرْدَ الْعَيْشِ بَعْدَ الْمَوْتِ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ لَذَّةَ النَّظَرِ إِلَى وَجْهِكَ وَالشَّوْقَ إِلَى لِقَائِكَ فِي غَيْرِ ضَرَّاءَ مُضِرَّةٍ وَلَا فِتْنَةٍ مُضِلَّةٍ، اللَّهُمَّ زَيِّنَّا بِزِينَةِ الْإِيمَانِ
وَاجْعَلْنَا هُدَاةً مُهْتَدِينَ

O Allah! By Your Knowledge of the unseen and by Your Power over creation, let me live if life is good for me, and let me die if death is good for me; O Allah! I ask You to grant me (the blessing of having) fear of You in private and public, and I ask You (to make me utter) a statement of truth in times of contentment and anger, and I ask You for moderation when in a state of wealth and poverty, and I ask you for blessings that never ceases, and I ask You for the coolness of my eye that never ends, and I ask You (to make me pleased) after (Your) decree; and I ask You for a life of (ease, comfort, tranquillity, etc) after death; I ask You for the delight of looking at Your Face (i.e. in the Hereafter) and yearning to meet You without any harm and misleading trials (coming upon me); O Allah! Adorn us with the adornment of Imaan, and make us (from those who are) guided and guiding (others). (6)
