In The Name of Allah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.
Allah [The Most High] said:
O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah; even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allah is a Better Protector to both (than you). So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you may avoid justice, and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do. [Surah An-Nisaa. Ayah 135]
We write this as Muslims, not as pan-Africanists; rather, evil, injustice, and exploitation are condemned regardless of where or who commits it, and truth must be affirmed on behalf of everyone – Muslims and non-Muslims. Allah aids the oppressed even if they are non-Muslims. (Footnote a)
The ruthless French colonialists were not the first in history to commit atrocities; rather, violence has been an ongoing practice of many disbelievers and those who violate Allah’s Shariah in their relationships with other humans. Allah [The Exalted] said that Prophet Hud [peace be upon him] said to his people: [وَإِذَا بَطَشۡتُم بَطَشۡتُمۡ جَبَّارِينَ – And when you seize, seize you as tyrants]– Meaning, when you want to attack with a whip or sword, you attack like tyrants, completely overpowering and being savagely violent – neither compassionate nor aim to discipline (within justice as commanded by Allaah), nor contemplating on the consequences. (1) Allah gave them great strength and it was obligated to them to use this strength in obedience to Allah, but they became boastful and haughty, and they said: [مَنۡ أَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةًۖ – Who is mightier than us in strength? (Surah Fussilat. Verse 15]; and they utilized their strength in disobedience to Allaah, fruitlessly and foolishly, so their Prophet forbade them from that. (2) Their Prophet forbade them from that because it was done out of oppression. (3)
Imam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allah have mercy upon him] said, “Allah reproached Aad – the people of Prophet Hud – and that they are oppressors who attacked people without justification, oppress them by way of beating, killing, and pillage….(4)
Indeed, there is no doubt that France’s colonial practices amounted to extreme tyranny and barbarism. In addition to its involvement in the European slave trade, France exploited nations, robbed their wealth, and perpetrated murders against them during that dark era in the history of their country. Its ruthless colonial authority was established in twenty countries between North and West Africa after it began colonial activities in 1524, and over the course of nearly three centuries, 72 countries came under its rule. In addition to exploiting and robbing African countries’ resources, the French colonialists used Senegal, Ivory Coast, and Benin as slave trafficking hubs. (Footnote b)
After the brutalised and oppressed colonies were dragged into and forced to participate in the European World War II (1939-45), which was nothing more than a clash of different ideologies concocted by men, they began opposing the savagery of the French colonialists. So, the French responded by using extreme force against a people who yearned for a life of dignity, and this savagery was even extended to the nations that were promised independence in exchange for joining the French Colonialists in their ruthless wars for power. The most notable example is perhaps the massacre of thousands of Algerians by the brutal colonial forces when they demanded – at the end of the European World War II – that the oppressive Colonialists fulfil the agreement they made to grant them the freedom to run their own affairs in exchange for fighting alongside them; however, the brutal colonial police force carried out massacres at Setif, Guelma, M’Sila, and Souk Ahras on March 8, 1945, as a result. This is their awful legacy in the colonies, which every human being – Muslim or non-Muslim – with an ounce of decency would abhor.
Recently, there has also been much discussion about France and the genocide against the “Tutsi” ethnicity in Rwanda in 1994, which is one of the world’s greatest genocides, with almost 800,000 people killed. Indeed, we are not here to judge the extent to which French soldiers and Neocolonialists were directly or indirectly involved, or whether they were not involved at all, but it is sufficient not to trust this nation’s Neocolonialists (disbelievers), who continue to steal resources from former Muslim colonies under inhumane post-colonial agreements signed in exchange for so-called independence. https://salaficentre.com/2023/08/09/the-colonial-and-post-colonial-mentality-of-the-french-mutaffifoon-and-their-ilk/
Therefore, we remind every member of our tribes (in Gambia, Senegal, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone, Guinea Conakry, Nigeria, Niger and other African nations) not to shed a drop of blood on behalf of France, America, the EU, or on behalf of any African – Muslim or non-Muslim – who are eager to carry out the dirty work of the Neocolonialists; but rather return to the upright Muslim scholars and seek their guidance. Seek the guidance of Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadi al-Mad’khali, Al-Allaamah Saalih Al-Fawzaan, and Al-Allaamah Abdul Muhsin Al-Abbaad [may Allaah preserve them]. Imaam Al-Hasan al-Basree [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: By Allaah! Never have a people sought advice except that they were guided to the best of what was available to them.” Then he recited [the statement of Allaah]: [وَأَمۡرُهُمۡ شُورَىٰ بَيۡنَہُمۡ – And (the Believers) who (conduct) their affairs by mutual consultation] [42:38] (5)
Al-Allaamah Ubaid Bin Abdillah Al-Jaabiri [may Allah have mercy upon him] said: “When the people of virtue and piety were faced with adversity and an intricate affair, they would go to the Senior people of knowledge to ask them and seek a Jawaab Ash-Shaafee Al-Kaafee [an appropriate answer that would bring about the rectification of the religious affairs and preservation of the well-being of the people based on the Qur’an and the Sunnah]. This is a followed path –beginning since the era of the Prophet’s companions, then the Imams of the Taabi’een, and then –after them- the people of knowledge, virtue, religion, and sound faith. And how beautiful is what Ibn Mas’ud [may Allah be pleased with him] said, “The people will not cease to be righteous and upright as long as knowledge comes to them from the companions of Muhammad [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him]and their elders. But if knowledge comes to them from their young ones, they will be destroyed”. Finally, exposing the plots, oppression, dubious practices and wrongdoing of Neocolonialists and globalists does not mean that we violate the rights that their Lord has granted them in both Muslim and non-Muslim countries.

We ask Allah:
Our Lord! Make us not a trial for the folk who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoing). And save us by Your Mercy from the disbelieving folk.
