[1] Some Terms That Are Misconstrued By Ahlul Bidah – Misguided Modernists and Philosophers Disguised As Muslim Intellectuals- In Their Desperate Attempts to Distort Islam and Corrupt The Unsuspecting Muslim

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Shaikh Muhammad Bin Saalim Baazmool [may Allaah preserve him] said: It is widely known amongst some of the people that ٱلۡوُسۡطَ is only that which occupies the middle position between two things, and they do not take note of the other meaning of this term, as mentioned in the Magnificent Qur’aan and the [authentic] Prophetic Sunnah.

[ٱلۡوُسۡطَ ]  in the Islamic legislation is that which is ‘Superior.’ [Allaah (The Most High)] said: [حَـٰفِظُواْ عَلَى ٱلصَّلَوَٲتِ وَٱلصَّلَوٰةِ ٱلۡوُسۡطَىٰ – Guard strictly (five obligatory) As-Salawaat (the prayers) especially the Salatul Wustaa (the Asr prayer)]’’. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Aayah 238] [ٱلۡوُسۡطَىٰ]- Meaning: The best, more excellent etc.

And [Allaah (The Most High)] said: [مِنۡ أَوۡسَطِ مَا تُطۡعِمُونَ أَهۡلِيكُمۡ  (On the scale) of the average of that which you feed your own families].’’ [Surah Al-Maa’idah. Aayah 89]  [مِنۡ أَوۡسَطِ ] – Meaning: The best and most just.

And [Allaah (The Most High)] said: [وَكَذَٲلِكَ جَعَلۡنَـٰكُمۡ أُمَّةً۬ وَسَطً۬ا – Thus We have made you  أُمَّةً۬ وَسَطً۬ا]- Meaning: The best and most upright Ummah.

The intent behind all this is to understand that [الوسطية] in the context of the Religion is that which is ‘best’ and the ‘Justice of the Religion’, [and that is] to follow that which Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] has commanded and keep away from that which He has forbidden. As for the explanation of [الوسطية] in the religious context with a meaning other than this meaning, then it is [something founded upon a foundation] ready to crumble – a mirage which the thirsty one considers water [i.e. an illusion].

Whoever Does Not Make Tabdee of a Mubtadi is a Mubtadi Himself: [A Brief Rebuttal Against The Deceitful Hizbiyyoon (Illegal Partisans)- Those Who Falsely Accuse Salafiyyoon And Deliberately Refrain From Clarifying This Affair In Order to Persist In Their Defence of Mubtadi’ah (Innovators)- [PDF 2 Pages]

Shaikh Rabee [may Allaah preserve him] said: It is not correct to apply this principle unrestrictedly because it maybe that he is unaware of the Bidah committed by that person, therefore he refrains from declaring him a Mubtadi [an innovator] due to [ورع – i.e. to take a precaution in order to avoid something doubtful out of fear of falling into something forbidden]. Why should you declare him an innovator? [i.e. why should you declare him an innovator when it is the case that he is unaware of the bidah of that Mubtadi or refrains from making Tabdee out of ورع ]. But if he knows the innovator [i.e. knows that such a person is upon bidah due to which the evidence was established against him], loves him and allies with him, then he is a Mubtadi.  This is the distinction in this affair. He knows that that person is a Mubtadi but he aids him and wages war against Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah, then he is a Mubtadi without a doubt. As for a person who does not know that such and such person is a Mubtadi, he is not to be declared an innovator.

You [i.e. the scholar, or student of knowledge who is qualified to make Tabdee] – the one who studied the affair of [that person] and you know that he allies with a Mubtadi, places him in a favourable position, wages war against Ahlus Sunnah for the sake of that Mubtadi and for the sake of this falsehood, then this person is a Mubtadi, misguided. As for the person who does not know that indeed such and such person is a Mubtadi, then advise him and clarify for him [i.e. with clear unambiguous proofs until he understands] that such person is a Mubtadi. So, unless he ceases [i.e. refrains from defending this Mubtadi after understanding the evidences], then put him [in the same place] with his companion – the Mubtadi.

[2] Self-scrutiny- [The Type of Self-sufficiency That Will Lead to Destruction] – Contemplation On Some Admonitions By Imaam Ibnul Qayyim and Imaam As-Sadi [rahimahumallaah] [PDF 2 Pages]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Allaah [The Most High] said:

كَلَّآ إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ لَيَطۡغَىٰٓ

 أَن رَّءَاهُ ٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰٓ

 إِنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلرُّجۡعَىٰٓ

Nay! Verily, man does transgress all bounds [in disbelief and evil deed, etc.]. Because he considers himself self-sufficient. Surely! Unto your Lord is the return. [Surah Al-Alaq. Aayaat 6-8]

He considers himself self-sufficient – neither in need of his Lord nor in need of obedience to his Lord. This view of his is the cause of every destruction and transgression. It distances him from servitude to Allaah and the fact that he is completely in need of Allaah. [Ref 1]

Due to his ignorance and wrongdoing, he transgresses after considering himself self-sufficient; rebels, becomes haughty towards guidance [i.e. the guidance sent down by Allaah],  forgets that he will finally return to his Lord and  fears not the recompense [on the day of judgement]; rather he might reach such a state that he abandons guidance and call others to abandon it, such as forbidding (others) from performing the prayer which is the best act of Eemaan. [Ref 2]

Eemaan Returns to Madeenah Just as a Snake Returns to Its Hole

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful The Bestower of Mercy

Imaam Muhammad Bin Saaleh al-Uthaymeen [rahimahullaah] was asked about the statement of the Messenger [sallal-laahua-alayhi-wasallam] that: ‘’Verily Eemaan returns to Madeenah as a snake returns to its hole.’’[1]

Answer: In this hadeeth the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: ‘’ Verily Eemaan returns to Madeenah as a snake returns to its hole.’’ The word [ يَأرِزُ -Yarizo] with a kasrah on the letter Raa can also have a Fatha or a Dammah on the Raa.  And the meaning of [يَأرِزُ – Yarizo] is that (Islaam) will return and will be established in Madeenah, just as a snake returns to its hole after exiting it. This is an indication from the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alahi-wasallam] that this religion will return to Madeenah after the other lands become corrupted, just as a snake goes out and roams about in the earth, and then returns to its hole thereafter.

Also in this Hadeeth, there is an indication that just as Islaam did spread from Madeenah, it will also return to it, because indeed Islaam’s strength and authority did not spread except from Madeenah, even though its origin was in Makkah.  Makkah was the first place where the revelation came down, but the Muslims were not able to establish a state, authority and Jihaad except after migrating to Madeenah. So for this reason, Islaam’s authority, enforcement and strength spread from Madeenah, and it will return to it in the end of time. And some of the people of knowledge say that this [hadeeth] indicates to an affair that has already taken place, which is that people did come to Madeenah and return to it in order to acquire the knowledge of the Sharee’ah and to study Islaam. However, the first meaning is what is apparent from the hadeeth. [2]

You are a Servant of Allāh or a Servant of Shaytān – Shaykh Fawzān

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Shaykh Al-Fawzān (hafidahullāh) said,

“The most noble of actions is worshipping Allāh (The Mighty & Majestic) alone; that you are an [obedient or submissive] servant of Allāh. Whosoever is not a servant of Allāh, he becomes a servant of Shaytān. He is a servant in all situations, either he is a servant of Allāh – worshipping Allāh alone and his heart attached to (the worship of) Allāh; or he is a servant of Shaytān. There is no way out of [these two types of] servitude.”
