Marriage First or Seeking Knowledge? –[Person Asked a Specific Question About Himself]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [may Allaah preserve him] said:

If you are able to exercise patience and seek knowledge, then exercise patience; meaning: study before getting married, just as Umar [radiyallaahu-anhu] said that ‘’some people might be prevented from [seeking] knowledge due to marriage.’’ So when he gets married, he abandons seeking knowledge and becomes relaxed, and tires himself [i.e. it becomes difficult for him to combine  family responsibilities and seeking knowledge at the same time]. But if he has the ability [or strength] to combine the Maslahatayn [i.e. the benefits of marriage and seeking knowledge], then that is good, [as long as] he does not consider himself as one who will commit wicked deeds and fornicate; [for] if this is the case, then -by Allaah- it becomes more obligatory on him to get married [in order] to protect himself and guard his chastity.  [Abridged and slightly paraphrased]  [See link:]

Love Between Two Married People- Man and Woman

The Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: [لَمْ نَرَ لِلْمُتَحَابَّيْنِ مِثْلَ النِّكَاحِ] ”There is nothing like marriage, for two who love one another.” [Reported by Imaam Ibn Maajah 2/153. Hadeeth Number: 1847. Declared Authentic by Imaam Albaanee in As-Saheehah 2/196]

Meaning: There is no bond like that bond between two people in marriage who love one another, for if they are married and love is present between them, it will increase in strength every day. [Paraphrased & bridged. (See Sharh Sunan Ibn Maajah by As-Sindee (rahimahullaah)… Hadeeth Number 1847’ Book of Marriage- Chapter: The Excellence of Marriage]

May Allaah increase the love and compassion between the husbands and the wives upon obedience to Allaah and His Messenger. Aameen.
