Qadr’Allah due to the distancing required then for taraweeh this year we will only be able to have the masjid open for the brothers only. We will review this based on numbers on a daily / weekly basis.
As it stands- the men’s side will be open, and the overflow will use both the women’s side and the flat upstairs. It will also be on a first come first serve basis, so please be aware of this. We can only house so many brothers so, we ask you pardon and be patient with us, if there isn’t enough space.
May Allah grant us all a prosperous and beneficial Ramadhaan
Work will be take place today to repair and level, and then replace women’s entrance flooring. See old flooring images Below
Lots of work has been underway to transform the cabins! Walls ripped out, ceilings shifting, new insulation added, See Pictures Below.
Asalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu
By the grace and mercy of Allah the appeal has been completed and we’ve hit £15,000!
Just a reminder that anyone who is a U.K. tax payer you can gift aid your donation – whereby the masjid will receive an extra 20%. Simply go to SalafiCentre.com/Giftaid and fill out the form.
As an update on the work that we have started and underway we will post pictures and videos of it shortly. However in brief:
– we have already been working on the classrooms, having stripped walls and adding insulation, changing and repairing the electrics and lighting and heating.
– our new boiler system is now booked and due to be fitted at the end of next week
– the non slip commercial entrance floor and levelling has been booked for Tuesday.
– we’ve installed our first door entry system with camera. We will be completing the rest next week.
May Allah reward you all for your donations to the masjid. May Allah alleviate any difficulties we all have or are suffering and make the means of charity a reward and expiation for our sins.
Asalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu
We hope and pray you are well and in the best of eemaan.
The masjid is in need of work to help repair some items. Much of this work is urgent and needs doing before the term starts and we have children back in.
1) Boiler and Heater replacement:
As the masjid is split into sections we have multiple boilers. Alhamdulilah we have changed 2 into industrial ones (see previous appeals) however we have still been using and maintaining the domestic one in the upstairs section. It has now started to leak, and fail; and we’ve been told the repair is not of any value, and that we should replace it.
2) Outside Women’s Side cabin insulation work, repairs and roof leaks. These cabins are used for Quran regularly and consistently, but it is difficult to keep them warm in winter and aired well in summer. The roof is also leaking and we’ve attempted to patch it but unsuccessfully. The work required therefore is:
– re-insulating all walls
– re-boarding all walls with thicker boards and plastic sheeting for hygiene and longevity
– additional underfloor heating
– complete roof replacement
– additional roof waterproofing
– ceiling lining and lights
3) masjid entrance flooring. Currently we have tiles and use carpet flooring which is both a hazard and also creates a foul smell when mixed with rain water. This will be replaced with an industrial plastic linoleum flooring on both men’s and women’s side with the floor requiring levelling.
4) Additional automatic door entry mechanisms on women’s doors, flat doors, office doors, kitchen doors; due to expanded use.
The total for all work is £15,000. Alhamdulilah the masjid has already saved £1500 of that leaving £13,500.

As-Salaamu alaykum wa Rahmatullaahi wa Barakaatuh,
Our beloved brothers and sisters it is with great pleasure that we announce that we will be reopening the Masjid for congregational prayers as of Fajr prayer Saturday 4th July 2020. There are clearly some changes which will be apparent and measures which we have had to implement as per government guidelines, we ask that you all remain patient with the changes that have been implemented and make dua for the full reopening of the masaajid.
Due to government guidance we have enacted a new Risk Assessment Policy, appointed a Safety Office and a Head of Operations to ensure we can provide a safe environment.
Measures Taken and Introduced:
A deep clean and sanitisation of the masjid and all facilities has been undertaken.
An enhanced cleaning schedule has been implemented.
Hand sanitisers have been provided and are accessible at several points.
All attendees are highly encouraged to make wudu before coming to the masjid, as per the sunnah (see below), however the toilet and wudu facilities will be available if needed, as we have introduced enhanced cleaning – however please observe distancing.
Narrated Abu Huraira:
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “The reward of the prayer offered by a person in congregation is twenty-five times greater than that of the prayer offered in one’s house or in the market (alone). And this is because if he performs ablution and does it perfectly and then proceeds to the mosque with the sole intention of praying, then for every step he takes towards the mosque, he is upgraded one degree in reward and his one sin is taken off (crossed out) from his accounts (of deeds). (Al-Bukhari:645)
We will provide shoe bags as the shoe racks will not be in use. Please keep shoes with you.
The car park will be open, so as not to adversely disturb neighbours, please adhere to distancing.
Signs reminding adherence to distancing when entering and exiting are in place.
We ask that all elderly aged 70+ and anyone categorised as high risk, protect themselves and carry on praying at home in line with the advice of the scholars.
It is also advisable for anyone over 60 to consider whether it is wise for them to attend.
We ask that all who are advised to self-isolate for a period do not attend the Masjid.
Notices will be placed around the Masjid in English and Arabic.
Entry will be via the front of the building and exiting via the rear.
The masjid will be open for all 5 daily prayers – Alhamdulillaah.
Men and Women will have access – Men’s capacity is 53 and Women’s is 27.
The masjid will open ten minutes before the congregational prayer and will close ten minutes after.
All prayer places have been marked clearly with black and yellow tape.
When entering please take your place and do not sit against the walls, chairs are available for those who need.
All prayers excluding Jumu’ah prayers children 12 and above will be admitted with a responsible adult who ensures the child prays in the adjacent prayer place and the adult takes reasonable measures to ensure adherence to distancing.
Please disperse promptly via designated exits and adhere to distancing.
To facilitate the congregation for Jumu’ah prayer, we will have two congregations, the first beginning at 1.15pm
Capacity is restricted and other than the Imam, access will be granted on a first come basis. There will be stewards performing head counts to manage attendees.
The Masjid will open at 12.45pm for entry and the entrance will be locked once capacity has been reached.
Attendees are asked to leave as soon as the prayer has been completed, exit will be via rear fire exits, to allow the second congregation to enter.
For the Jumu’ah prayer due to severe restriction on space because of distancing we will not be able to facilitate the sisters, bearing in mind it is not an obligation for the women to pray in congregation – we make dua for the full opening of the Masjid without restriction.
We will have a capacity of 100 on Jumu’ah including use of overflow areas upstairs.
For the Jumu’ah prayer no children below 15 are permitted, this is due to restriction of space and the fact we are operating without our usual capacity.
Please note there will be no car park access for vehicles on Friday, as per the advice of the scholars please park responsibly and do not cause difficulty or harm to the neighbours.
BaarakAllaahu feekum, Allah protect us all and keep us safe.
Being in seclusion was made beloved to the Prophet prior to his prophet-hood, this was known as laying the foundations as the early signs of prophet-hood. The Prophet would go to his wife Khadeejah (May Allah be pleased with her) and she would give him provisions enough to last for a long time for when he went to Cave Hira at the top of Mount Nur. He would sit there being in devout worship, and he would remember his Lord in this Cave at the top of Mount Nur which faced in the direction of the Ka’ba…
What is the legislative ruling on a person who reads from the noble mushaf for taraweeh prayer in Ramadhan, or the night prayer outside of Ramadhan or the eclipse prayer, whilst a person is standing for the prayer and he has the mushaf with him and he reads the long chapters, which he was not able to memorise?
And when he prostrates he places the mushaf on the ground or a table which is close to him and when he stands he takes the mushaf with his hand and recites, and he does this until he has finished his prayer?
