What is the Meaning of Hizbiyyah and What is The Ruling Upon It? Shaykh Ubaid Al Jaabiree

A questioner from Germany asks:

“What is the definition of Hizbiyyah and what is its ruling?”

Watch the video for the answer.

Your question O my child from Germany is composed of two parts. The first: concerning the meaning of hizbiyyah and I say you have done well for asking this question. So hizbiyyah is to unite and side with an individual, individuals or a group other than Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jamā’ah. And it’s possible (the people of hizbiyyah) side themselves with a number of groups. So you find one of them for example, uniting with Jamā’atu-Tablīgh, Jamā’atul-ikhwān, Jamā’atul-jihād or other than them from the present day da’wah affiliated groups that are all deviated and misguide people.

I say this without any reluctance, as this is what I profess as my religion before Allāh.

So you find him (a person of hizbiyyah) making his friendship and allegiance towards those who side with him, a groups of people, a single individual or various individual persons.  He builds his allegiance and enmity based on them.

It was this that Shaykhul-Islām – may Allāh have mercy upon him – signified with his saying, “And whosoever raises for the people a man for whose sake friendship and enmity is formed, then he is  from those who have divided their religion and split into sects” and with this detailed explanation – if Allāh wills – I think you have understood the meaning of hizbiyyah. It is taken from (the word) tahazzub (to form partisanship).

As for the second part and that is your question concerning its ruling – it is an innovation and misguidance. So whoever sides himself with other than the Salafis – and they are the People of Hadīth (prophetic narrations), Ahlul- Athar, (people of narrations), the Victorious Party, the Saved Sect, the People of Sunnah and Jamā’ah (unity).

So this is the reality of despicable hizbiyyah and (one who falls into it) is from those who have divided their religion and split into sects.

Say Only Those Words that are the Best – An Excerpt From a Contemplative Khutbah – Shaykh Abdur Razzaaq al Badr

An Excellent Khutbah based upon the following Ayah in which Allah says:

“And say to My slaves (i.e. the true believers of Islamic Monotheism) that they should (only) say those words that are the best. (Because) Shaitan (Satan) verily, sows disagreements among them. Surely, Shaitan (Satan) is to man a plain enemy.” [Surah Al-Israa. Ayah 53]

Excerpt

How many – O slaves of Allaah- enmities and wars broke out due to one evil statement, and how much love, brotherhood and [amicability, hospitality, cordiality etc] spread between the slaves due to one good statement!

Appeal for the Masjid Running Costs, Bills and Rent

Asalamualaikum wa rahamtullahi wa barakaatuhu. We pray you are all well and in the best of eemaan. By the permission of Allah we have managed to accomplish a lot at the masjid over the summer. However the work done has taken its toll on finances; as we raised less than was needed (by etimation) in the end for the work outside; as well as had to pay for secondary unforeseen things such as clean up labour time and secondary items not priced into work.

The masjid currently runs a lot of activities for everyone; and employs a lot of people – brothers and sisters. We also do not charge very much so we are always often at just break even in terms of our finance; whereby the wages for the staff (Quran School, Saturday School and more) are just about covered; and sometimes not met.

As a result we rely on the good nature of the people to assist the masjid in the rest of its efforts. Usually this balances out; however currently the masjid is making a loss whereby we have had to borrow small funds from brothers to keep the masjid running and to complete the work.

Therefore we are appealing to everyone if they can help us plug this shortfall in two ways. The first one is the urgent need of £6000 which we need for our rent and to pay back what we’ve borrowed.

However long term, to avoid such issues, what would really help is a regular donation if possible, by everyone who can give something for the sake of Allah. If you can set up a standing order from your online or telephone bank of just five pounds a month this would help us massively. Our dawa here has always been a collective effort and we pray that this is an excellent opportunity to gain yet more reward and salvation from Allah azza wajal. £5 a month isn’t too much, working out to less than £1.25 a week. And this would fall in line with the hadeeth of the Prophet Salalaahu Alayhi wa Salam which was narrated by Abu Hurrairah that he Salalaahu Alayhi wa Salam said “Take on only as much as you can of good deeds, for the best of deeds is that which is done consistently, even if it is little”

So please take a few minutes of your time to do this and then forget it and let the deeds pile up biidhnillah.

And the reward is with Allah

If you wish to make a one off donation please reference it as appeal2018. Thi will go toward the £6000 debt we have. Or if you can set up a regular standing order then please do so using the following information.

Account Name: Dar Ul Hadith
Sort Code: 309542
Account Number: 05570092
Bank Name: Lloyds

The reference can be “runningcosts”, or “masjidcosts”. You can also donate using PayPal, however they take a cut from any donation we receive, so please bear in mind, and use the first option if possible. Our Paypal Link is: paypal.me/salaficentre

The Amazing Reward of Giving Sadaqah and Being Charitable: A Noble Trait of the Prophet

The Amazing Reward of Giving Sadaqah and Being Charitable: A Noble Trait of the Prophet

Foundations for Our Teaching Establishments: Giving Precedent and Emphasis to The Aqeedah Over Certificates When Employing Teachers – Shaykh Rabee’ B. Haadi

Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [May Allah Preserve and Protect Him] said:

“It is not befitting [or permissible] in any situation that [one] relies on certificates when choosing a teacher; rather it is obligatory -from the beginning- to take his Aqeedah into consideration, thoughts [or views], manners, Islam and adherence to his religion. This is a very important affair and there’s no way of getting away from it. The teacher who is deviated in his Aqeedah, thoughts or has weak mannerisms and behaviour; or he is negligent in carrying out acts of worship and the prayer -poses more danger to our children than deadly diseases.”

The Imam should consider the conditions of the weak, elderly and other than them during all Prayers – Al-Imam ‘Abdul ‘Aziz ibn Baz

The Imam ‘Abdul ‘Aziz ibn Baz said:

This is a sought-after affair in all the prayers; in taraaweeh and in the (five daily) compulsory prayers, due to his statement (sallallahu alaihi wa salam),

Whoever of you leads the people (in prayer), then lighten it, for indeed amongst them are the weak and the young and those with needs. (Bukhari & Muslim).

Hence, the imam considers those being led in prayer and is gentle with them regarding the taraaweeh (in general) and during the last ten nights. This is because people are not all the same (in ability, strength and eeman), people differ, therefore it is a must for the imam to consider their situation, and to encourage them to come and to attend; when he lengthens (the prayer) it becomes difficult upon them and they become averse from attending.

So, it is a must for him to consider that which will be a means of encouragement for them to attend, and make them desirous of attending the prayer, even if this is by shortening and not lengthening.

A prayer wherein the people have khushoo and are at peace during it; even if short is better than a prayer which causes the lack of khushoo and causes annoyance, and negligence.

Majmoo’ Fataawa wa Maqaalat Mutanawiyya – Shaykh b. Baz Vol.11 Pgs. 336-337

📢 Ramadhaan 2018 Announcement

The Month of Ramadhaan will commence today from Maghrib and the first fast will be on Thursday insh’Allāh. We begin the Tarāweeh prayer tonight after the Ishaa’ prayer at 10:45pm. On Friday this will change to 11:00pm.

Car Parking & Neighbours

As a general reminder for those attending the masjid please park your cars 🚗 properly and safely within the car park and on the surrounding streets- taking care not to block driveways. Also as we are praying late it’s important that we are quiet when coming and leaving so as not to disturb our neighbours 🏡.

Security

There will be security during the night prayer outside – Allah reward the brothers. However please still be vigilant as it is late.

Sisters Side Information

The sisters side of the masjid will be open 🚪 for the Salah. And for the benefit of the all sisters praying, we will have the air conditioning unit on throughout the prayer. ✅ We advise sisters that if they cannot manage standing close to the AC (due to the cold) please move to another area of the musallah.

There will be refreshments and snacks for sale at the end of taraweeh, outside the masjid. All proceeds will go toward our masjid wudhu area and play area appeals. For more details or to donate, then go to SalafiCentre.com/playground and Salaficentre.com/donate.

Important Message About Zakat.

Alhamdulillah we have some good connections at the masjid with trustworthy brothers and sisters in various countries, where there are poor muslims in need. Places include Egypt, Nigeria, Uganda, Pakistan and more; and the brothers and sisters there, assist with this for Allah’s sake.

Each year we appoint those whom we know and trust to distribute some of this, and from it included Zakat al Fitr.. often times this is left a few until the last moment. However to get this arranged for so many people it is important that it is not delayed in paying it, if you need help in distributing it, and are not doing so yourself.

Please refer to the poster for more information on all the types of Zakat / payments we collect and distribute, including fidyah (meal payments for those allowed to pay in replacement for fasts). More info at https://salaficentre.com/zakat

May Allah allow us to reach this Blessed Month, forgive us all of our sins and grant us jannah.

📸 Gallery of Completed Fence Project

Asalamu’alaykum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu

Below is the gallery of the erection and completion of the fence project. May Allah reward you all; your donations have gone a good way to securing the boundary of the Masjid and making it a safer place for all of your brothers and sisters here in Manchester

The fence is now complete with entrance gates and a gated sections for educational purposes. We will be installing further facilities shortly for the children who attend the Masjid for our various madrasahs and clubs (see salafischool.co and tuitionclub.org). These will include spaces for planting flowers, vegetables and fruit; as well as an outdoor classroom area and space to learn about the beautiful world and creation of Allah.
