Fire Alarm System Appeal
Asalamualaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuhu
In order to make our building the safest possible place for all who attend, the masjid recently carried out a fire safety review. We have been given a few items to make good; but it has also been recommended to install a fire alarm.
We have managed to get quotes with a discount; and have gotten the best price at £4565.00. We therefore need to raise this amount in total and install the system as fast as possible.
Please donate to this and help us reach our target fast!

All of the above equals a massive opportunity for reward for everyone connected to the masjid. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said “Whoever builds a masjid for the sake of Allah, Allah builds for him a house in Jannah” (Bukhari & Muslim). There is a lot of renovation and restoration work needed in the masjid, especially as it is so busy.
A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: “O Messenger of Allāh which Sadaqah is the one that gives the greatest amount of reward from Allāh (سبحانه و تعالى)? The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “That you give in charity whilst you are in good health and you are feeling miserly and you want to covet that wealth that you possess, and you fear poverty for yourself and that you hope for riches.” Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
وَلاَ تُمْهِلُ حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغَتِ الْحُلْقُومَ قُلْتَ لِفُلاَنٍ كَذَا، وَلِفُلاَنٍ كَذَا، وَقَدْ كَانَ لِفُلاَنٍ (رواه البخاري)
So do not delay until you are at the point of death and then you say: “Give this to so-and-so and give that to so-and-so,” when at that point [your wealth and property] already belongs to so-and-so!” (Sahih al-Bukhari: 1419)
Those who spend [in Allah’s Cause – deeds of charity, alms, etc.] in prosperity and in adversity, who repress anger, and who pardon men; verily, Allah loves Al-Muhsinun (the good-doers). [Surah al-Im’raan 3:134]
Shaykh Saaleh al-Fawzaan (حفظه الله) mentioned: Indeed the giving of charity from ones pure wealth and from ones halaal earnings in the cause of Allaah (سبحانه و تعالى), is from the most excellent and the most virtuous of all the acts of worship. Allaah (سبحانه و تعالى) says:
By no means shall you attain Al-Birr, unless you spend (in Allah’s Cause) of that which you love; and whatever of good you spend, Allah knows it well. [Surah al-Im’raan 3:92]
Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) reported: “The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, there is an angel at a gate among the gates of Paradise, saying: Whoever offers a good loan today will be rewarded tomorrow! And there is an angel at another door, saying: O Allah, give repayment to one who spends in charity, and give destruction to one who withholds charity! (As-Silsilah As-Saheehah 2:590)
Uqbah ibn Amir reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, charity will protect people from the heat in their graves. Verily, only the believer will be shaded on the Day of Resurrection in the shade of his charity.” (Saheeh At-Targheeb)
So we urge you all to give charity for Allah’s sake and see this excellent chance to gain reward and blessings from Allah the most High. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me: “Charity extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire.” (Saheeh at-Tirmidhi)
Do not worry about how much is needed – give whatever you can – no amount is too small. The Messenger (ﷺ) said with regards to the charity that is given generally:
فَاتَّقُوا النَّارَ وَلَوْ بِشِقِّ تَمْرَةٍ (رواه مسلم)
“And save yourselves from the hell fire even if it be with the piece of a date.”(Muslim)
Give whatever you are able to and together we can get to the the full amount we need.
