Why Do They Say, “If Only Such and Such Person Refrains From Defending or Speaking?!” Because They Do Not Want Anyone to Recognise Virtue of The Upright Salafi Teachers

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Most High] said:

O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah; even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allah is a Better Protector to both (than you). So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you may avoid justice, and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do. [Surah An-Nisaa. Ayah 135]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said: Allaah [Glorified be He and Free is He From all Imperfections] commanded His servants to stand out firmly for justice on behalf of everyone – be it an enemy or an ally. And the affair that is most worthy of being established with justice -by a person- are the (sound and upright) statements, views and methodology related to the commands of Allaah as well as everything that Allaah related  [in the Qur’aan and the authentic Sunnah]. Therefore, to establish these affairs based on desires and disobedience is contrary to the command of Allaah and a negation [i.e. either intentionally or unintentionally] of that which Allaah’s Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] was sent with [i.e. the Qur’aan and the authentic Sunnah].

The establishment of justice is the responsibility of those entrusted with the task to convey Islaam after the death of the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam], and this task cannot become a reality unless when one establishes it based on pure justice and sincerity to Allaah- [sincerity] to Allaah’s Book, to Allaah’s Messenger and out of sincere advice to Allaah’s servants. These people are the true inheritors [i.e. inheritors of the knowledge left behind by the Prophets], but not that one who merely makes his companions, sect and school of thought the determinant of truth and the distinction between [truth and falsehood]- by showing enmity towards the one who opposes him and allies with the one who agrees with him, merely based on being opposed or agreed with [i.e. without sound proofs based on the Book and the authentic Sunnah]; because where is that [application of the] command to stand out firmly for justice on behalf of everyone, even though standing out firmly for justice is the greatest command and obligation?!

Then Allaah (The Most High) says: [شُہَدَآءَ لِلَّهِ – As witnesses to Allah]: A witness is that one who presents information about something, so if he presents credible information he is a just witness and his [statement] is accepted; but if he gives false information, he is a false witness.  Allaah [The Most High] command us to stand out firmly as just witnesses for His Sake, therefore it has to be carried out for the Sake of Allaah and not for other than Allaah.

And in [Surah Al-Maa’idah Ayah 8, Allaah (The Most High) said]: [كُونُواْ قَوَّٲمِينَ لِلَّهِ شُہَدَآءَ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ‌ۖ – Stand out firmly for Allah and be just witnesses]: This Aayah establishes four affairs: One should stand out firmly for justice and carries that out for sake of Allaah; witness to justice and carries that out for the Sake of Allaah.  Then Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَلَوۡ عَلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡ أَوِ ٱلۡوَٲلِدَيۡنِ وَٱلۡأَقۡرَبِينَ‌ۚ – Even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin].

Allaah [Glorified Be He and Free is He from all imperfections] commands us to stand out firmly for justice and testify [for or against] everyone, even if it were someone who is the most beloved person to us. A person should stand out firmly for justice [whether it is for or against] himself, his two parents, his other close relatives and his best friend amongst the people. If a person’s love for himself, his parents and his relatives prevents him from standing out firmly for the truth against them, especially if the truth is with someone he hates and regards as an enemy due to them, then indeed none will stand out firmly for justice in such circumstances except one whose love for Allaah and His Messenger is more than their love for everyone else.

On the other hand, a person has to establish justice when dealing with his enemies and  that one who deprives him of his rights; for indeed it is not permissible that hatred towards his enemies leads him to be unjust towards them, just as it is not permissible [to allow] love of himself, his parents and relatives to make him abandon standing firmly for justice against them. Therefore, hatred harboured against someone should not lead him to falsehood, and love [of himself, parents and relatives] should not make him fall short in establishing truth, just as some of the Salaf said, “The just person is that one who when angry, his anger does not lead him to falsehood, and when he is pleased, it does not remove him from truth”.

The two verses of the Qur’aan [i.e. 4:135 & 5:8] convey two rulings and they are: Standing out firmly for justice and making a truthful testimony on behalf of one’s allies and enemies.

Then Allaah [The Most High] said: [إِن يَكُنۡ غَنِيًّا أَوۡ فَقِيرً۬ا فَٱللَّهُ أَوۡلَىٰ بِہِمَا‌ۖ – Be he rich or poor, Allah is a Better Protector to both (than you)]- Meaning: Allaah is the Lord of both of them and their Protector, and they are both His slaves. It may be that you become fearful of standing firmly for justice by testifying against a rich person or a poor person – either fearing that the rich person might lose his wealth or because the poor person has nothing, so your hearts become lackadaisical towards standing out firmly for the truth.

Therefore, it should be said to them [i.e. the people]: Allah is a Better Protector to both the rich and poor person. Allaah knows the affair of the rich person more than you and He is more Merciful to the poor than you, so do not refrain from standing out firmly for the truth and from giving testimony [for or against] the rich or the poor.

Then Allaah said: [فَلَا تَتَّبِعُواْ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ أَن تَعۡدِلُواْ‌ۚ – So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you may avoid justice]-Meaning: Allaah forbids [His slaves] from following desires, which will lead them to abandon justice.

Then Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَإِن تَلۡوُ ۥۤاْ أَوۡ تُعۡرِضُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرً۬ا – and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do]- Meaning: Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] mentions two reasons that will inevitably lead to concealment of truth, then He warned against them and issued a threat: The first of them is distortion and the second is to turn away from giving truthful witness. That is because when a proof that supports the truth is manifested and the one who wants to repel it finds no way of doing so, he refrains from mentioning it and thus becomes a silent devil, and sometimes he distorts it. Distortion is of two types: Distorting words and distorting meanings. Distorting words is when one utters a word in a context in which it does not establish the truth – either adding to the word or omitting something from it, or substituting it with something else- to the extent that the listener is made to believe something, whilst something else is intended by it, just as the Yahood  [i.e. those Yahood who disbelieved in the Prophet & hated him] used to distort words when giving Salaam to the Prophet [i.e. saying As-Saamu Alayka (death be upon you), instead of saying Assalaamu alaykum)]. This is one type of distortion.

The second type of distortion is related to meanings – distorting the wording; giving it an interpretation that is not intended by the one who uttered it and pretending not to know its unintended meaning; or dropping other meanings intended by it etc. Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَإِن تَلۡوُ ۥۤاْ أَوۡ تُعۡرِضُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرً۬ا – and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do].

And when it is the case that a witness is required to bear witness based on what the affair should be [i.e. the complete truth], therefore neither should he hide nor change it. Turning away from the testimony is tantamount to concealment, and distortion is tantamount to alteration and substitution. Therefore, contemplate on this ayah and the treasures of knowledge it contains. The Eemaan of a person cannot be complete, except by way of accepting the texts of the Sharee’ah and calling the people to them – neither turning away from them at times nor distorting them at other times.

A Brief Reminder For The One Who Objects When We Use The Term Shaikh Whilst Referring to Some of The Senior Students

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Shaikh Hasan Al-Bannah [rahimahullaah] said:‏

All praise be to Allaah, maashaa’Allaah, they have organisation (in da’wah), they have a maktabah salafiyyah, they have a school, a kindergarten or primary school, all these things are tremendous and all praise be to Allaah they have big numbers with them. They also have with them many mashaayikh from amongst them Shaykh Abu Khadeejah, they have knowledge, with them is knowledge, and other than him like Shaykh Abu Hakeem Bilal. All of these maashaa’Allaah and many other people beside them – they are many people I met so I cannot recall their names – but those that are with them I find that they are upon khayr (goodness). Since they have many students of knowledge with them from their likes, so it is laazim (incumbent) that they traverse upon their way, because they have indibaat (firm discipline, groundedness), and all praise is due to Allaah, and they have cooperation and love for the sake of Allaah. They are from the best we have seen here from the different centres and (…) them upon steadfastness(..).” Listen To Audio Here:http://www.troid.ca/index.php/news/brief-benefits-inspirtational-quotes/1384-benefit-shaykh-hasan-ibn-abdul-wahhaab-al-bannaa-on-witnessing-salafi-publications

Therefore, brothers and sisters, this affair is as clear as the midday sun, because Shaikh Hasan Al-Bannah [rahimahullaah] sat with them, spoke to them and witnessed their affair. There’s none who knows the Maraatib of the recognised disseminators of sound knowledge – the teachers with Duroos in the Salafi Masaajid and Maraakiz– except that he will not object when this term is used whilst referring to some of those given this status. However, some people think that as soon as you use the term Shaikh, then you have exceeded the limits and have given them the status of Aalim, Al-Allaamah or Mujtahid; but rather they are Mashaayikh based on the level given to them by Shaikh Hasan Al-Bannah [rahimahullaah] and we know exactly what the Shaikh meant. If one of us were to give them the status of an Aalim, let alone Al-Allaamah, they would openly clarify our error. Likewise, neither do they demand to be called Shaikh nor raised above their status, but we give them the status they have been rightfully given. We say this whilst neither seeking the pleasure nor fearing the blame of anyone. Finally, we say, “May Allaah increase them in knowledge and firmness until they reach the highest level of Ilm and Taqwah, so that they continue to benefit us. Likewise, we ask Allaah to increase all of us in beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds, and bless the upcoming students of knowledge with firmness upon the Sunnah Aameen”.

An Inheritance From Iblees And Fir’awn – Disbelief And Sin Beautified For Intellects Through Opinion Or Arguments of Deceitful Sinners! [Be Alert By Sitting In Lessons And Constantly Returning to Upright Scholars]

Why Return to The Infallible Revelation During Disagreements-

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] said:

Allaah [The Most High] said:

[ كَانَ ٱلنَّاسُ أُمَّةً۬ وَٲحِدَةً۬ فَبَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ وَأَنزَلَ مَعَهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ لِيَحۡكُمَ بَيۡنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فِيمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ‌ۚ -Mankind were one community (i.e. upon Tawheed and Allaah’s Sharee’ah) and Allah sent Prophets with glad tidings and warnings, and with them He sent the Scripture in truth to judge between people in matters wherein they differed]. [Surah Al-Baqarah’ Aayah 213]

Therefore, Allaah [The Most High] designated the revealed Books [i.e. the Qur’aan being the final of them] as the judge between the people in matters wherein they differ”. [Ref 1]

Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al-Badr [may Allaah preserve him] said, “If you say that the intellect is to be given precedence over the revelation, then which intellect should we follow? Are the intellects of the people combined in the intellect of one man or do they differ? There are intellects of the philosophers, the atheists, the heretics, the people of evil desires and those who confound truth with falsehood; and due to this one of the pious predecessors said, ‘Had the desires been one, it would have been considered to be the [basis of] truth’; therefore, we say, ‘Had the intellects been one, it would have been considered to be the [basis of] truth’”. [Ref 2]

How The Enemies of The Messengers Beautify Falsehood And Its Effects Upon The Feeble Minded

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said:

Allaah [The Most High] said:

And so We have appointed for every Prophet enemies – Shayaateen (devils) among mankind and jinns, inspiring one another with adorned speech as a delusion (or by way of deception). If your Lord had so willed, they would not have done it, so leave them alone with their fabrications.” [Soorah Al-An’aam: Ayah 112]

Allaah [Glorified Be He] stated that they aid one another in opposing the command of the Prophets with what some of them inspire others of adorned speech, so that the gullible and feeble minded people are misled by it.  He [The Most High] stated the reason behind a perpetrator’s [adorned speech] and the reason why it is accepted by the people; then He [The Most High] mentioned [in ayah 113 Al-An’aam] the effects it has on those ignorant souls. When those souls incline towards such adorned speech and become pleased with it, they carry out what it calls them to do -in speech and action.  Therefore, ponder upon these verses and the sublime meanings they convey, for they clarify the roots of false principles and alert a person against them. And if you ponder upon the statements of the people of falsehood, you will indeed find them clothed with expressions and presented in a good light with sophisticated terms, which are quickly accepted by those deprived of sound discernment-to the extent that the wicked sinners would give [good] names to the greatest types of wicked deeds. [Ref 3]

Fir’awn The Wicked Sinner And His Blind Followers

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

فَٱسۡتَخَفَّ قَوۡمَهُ ۥ فَأَطَاعُوهُ‌ۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَوۡمً۬ا فَـٰسِقِينَ

Thus he [Fir’aun (Pharaoh)] befooled and misled his people, and they obeyed him. Verily, they were ever a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah).

He be fooled their intellects, called them to misguidance and they responded to him. [Ref 4]

He stirred up their feelings, befooled their intellects and thus deprived them of intelligence through his plots and misguidance. [Ref 5]

He sought to make a fool of them to follow him and thus they quickly responded and followed. He befooled their intellects, so they followed him.  [إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَوۡمً۬ا فَـٰسِقِينَ – Verily, they were ever a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah)]- Meaning, this why they hastened to obey that wicked sinner and misguided individual. [Ref 6]

Fir’awn deceived them through those doubts, which were portrayed as something true. He deceived his people and his chiefs through words that neither carried any reality nor were such words a means by way of which truth could be distinguished from falsehood. And those words cannot deceive, except the possessors of feeble intellects. Fir’awn did not possess any proofs; rather he only stated that he was the king of Egypt  (at the time) and that the rivers flow beneath him? He did not produce any proof to nullify the message brought by Moosaa [alayhis-salaam], even though Moosaa [alayhis-salaam] had few followers, found it hard to express himself clearly and did not possess the riches that Firawn possessed. However, the fact of the matter is that Fir’awn’s chiefs had no common sense, so they followed whatever he said -whether truth or falsehood. And because they were rebellious sinners, Fir’awn beautified shirk and evil for them. [Ref 7]

Iblees And The Proud Intellect

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] also said,

It has been stated that the reason behind Iblees being distanced [from Allaah’s Mercy] is because of false interpretation, for indeed he made an analogy with the text and gave precedence to the analogy over the text. He made a false interpretation about himself and that [his so called] rational analogy takes precedence over the command to prostrate. [Allaah informed us that Iblees said]:

[أنا خير منه – I am better than him [i.e. Aadam], and that a virtuous one cannot humble himself to one who has been given virtue over him; therefore he quickly said [as Allaah informed us that Iblees said]: [خلقتني من نار وخلقته من طين – You created me from fire, and him you created from clay]. Therefore, he thought that this rational analogy that resembles truth- even though it is false – will benefit him in his false interpretation. So, that which happened him happened and he became the leader of everyone- until the day of judgement- who makes a false interpretation of the texts of the revelation. How many a person in this world are followers of this cursed leader! And if you contemplate on the majority of those doubts that are made to resemble the truth by the false interpreters of the texts and seeking to nullify them, you will find that it is similar to the doubts of Iblees which he seeks to portray as truth. So, a person says: If the intellect and the text oppose each other, then give precedence to the intellect. This is where this principle is derived from and he [i.e. the proponent of this affair] use it as a fundamental principle through which he rejects those texts of the revelation which he claims are in opposition to the intellect, just as his leader Iblees claimed that a [so called] rational proof opposed the command to make sujood. This doubt came to him due to pride which prevented him from submitting to the clear texts of the revelation. Likewise, you find every false disputer against the texts of the revelation does so due to pride. Allaah [The Exalted] said: [إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ سُلْطَانٍ أَتَاهُمْ ۙ إِن فِي صُدُورِهِمْ إِلَّا كِبْرٌ مَّا هُم بِبَالِغِيهِ ۚ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ – Verily, those who dispute about the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, without any authority having come to them, there is nothing else in their breasts except pride [to accept you (Muhammad ) as a Messenger of Allah and to obey you]. They will never have it (i.e. Prophethood which Allah has bestowed upon you). So seek refuge in Allah (O Muhammad from the arrogants). Verily, it is He Who is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer]. [Surah Ghaafir. Aayah 56] [Ref 8]

The Different Directions Iblee Approaches The Children of Aadam

Allaah [The Exalted] informed us in Soorah An-Nisaa Ayah 119 that shaytaan said:

[وَلَأُضِلَّنَّهُمْ]Verily, I will mislead them]- Meaning: From the truth. [وَلَأُمَنِّيَنَّهُم – And surely, I will arouse in them false desires]; Ibn Abbaas (radiyallaahu-anhumaa) said: He (shaytaan) desires to hinder (them) from repentance and to delay it. [Ref 9]

[وَلَآمُرَنَّهُمْ فَلَيُبَتِّكُنَّ آذَانَ الْأَنْعَامِ – I will order them to slit the ears of cattle]; (That is) to cut off the ears of the cattle]; [وَلَآمُرَنَّهُمْ فَلَيُغَيِّرُنَّ خَلْقَ اللَّهِ – And indeed I will order them to change the nature created by Allah];  Ibn Abbaas (radiyallaahu-anhumaa) said: He (ibleees) intends by this the religion of Allaah. And the meaning of this is that Allaah created his slaves upon an upright fitrah (i.e. an upright natural disposition that will enable them to recognize Allaah, accept the call of the messengers when it reaches them and worship Allaah alone), as He (the most high) said:

So set you (O Muhammad) your face towards the religion of true Monotheism- Hanifa (worship none but Allah Alone) Allah’s Fitrah (i.e. Allah’s Islamic Monotheism), with which He has created mankind. No change let there be in Khalq–illah (i.e. the Religion of Allah Islamic Monotheism), that is the straight religion, but most of men know not. (Always) Turning in repentance to Him (only), and be afraid and dutiful to Him….[Soorah Ar-Rum Aayaat 30-31]

And that is why he (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: Every child is born on a Fitrah [a natural disposition to recognize Allaah, accept the call of the messengers when it reaches them and worship Allaah alone], but his/her parents convert them him/her to Judaism, Christianity or Magianism, as an animal gives birth to a perfect baby animal.  Do you find it mutilated?’’  Then after (narrating this hadeeth) Abu Hurairah recited: [فِطْرَتَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي فَطَرَ النَّاسَ عَلَيْهَا- Allah’s Islamic Monotheism, with which He has created mankind.

Therefore, he (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) mentioned two affairs: The alteration of the fitrah through Judaism and Christianity and the alteration of the original natural physical appearance of the creation through mutilation. They are two affairs which iblees said that he must change-alteration of the natural disposition (through) incitement towards disbelief and alteration of the original natural physical appearance through mutilation. So he (iblees) changes the fitrah through incitement towards shirk and alteration of the original natural appearance (of the creation) through cutting and mutilation. This one is alteration of the fitrah of the soul and that one the alteration of the original natural appearance of the creation. [Ref 10]

And Allaah [The Exalted] stated that shaytaan said:

(Iblis) said: “Because You have sent me astray, surely I will sit in wait against them (human beings) on Your Straight Path. Then I will come to them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left, and You will not find most of them as thankful ones (i.e. they will not be dutiful to You).” [7:16-17]

[ثُمَّ لَآتِيَنَّهُم مِّن بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ – Then I will come to them from before them and behind them]; Ibn Abbaas [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] said this means, ‘’I [Iblees] will bring doubts to them about the Hereafter.’’[وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ – and behind them]; Ibn Abbaas [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] said that this means, ‘’I [Iblees] will make them covetous for the worldly things.’’ [وَعَنْ أَيْمَانِهِمْ  – and from their right]; Ibn Abbaas [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] said this means, ‘’I [Iblees] will make their religion obscure [by making them hold onto doubtful matters which they would consider to be the truth]. [وَعَن شَمَائِلِهِمْ – and from their left]; Al-Hasan [rahimahullaah] said this means, ‘’I [Iblees] will command them to commit evil deeds, urge them toward it and beautify it in their eyes [i.e. make it fair seeming to them]’’.

It has also been reported from Ibn Abbaas [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] who said that Iblees did not say ‘’And from above them’’ because he knows that Allaah is above them. Qataadah [rahimahullaah] said, ‘’O son of Adam! Shaytaan comes to you from every direction but not from above because he is not able to come between you and the Mercy of Allaah. [Ref 11]

The People of Prophet Lut [alayhis salaam] – Which Type of Intoxication With Desire for Lewd Conduct Afflicted Them?

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

لَعَمۡرُكَ إِنَّہُمۡ لَفِى سَكۡرَتِہِمۡ يَعۡمَهُونَ

Verily, by your life (O Muhammad), in their wild intoxication, they were wandering blindly.

This wild intoxication is an intoxication with love of lewd acts, which (made) them neither heedful of rebuke nor blame. [Ref 12]

The Most Beneficial Intellect

Ahmad Ibn Aasim Al-Antaakiy (rahimahullaah) said:

The most beneficial intellect is the one that makes you acknowledge the blessings Allaah; aids you in being grateful and oppose (evil) desires. [Ref 13]

Some Outstanding Goals Behind Medical Practice- [Aim of Honest Scientists Who Neither Blindly Follow Nor Demand to Be Blindly Followed]

Quote: The Muslim doctor should ask the scholars regarding affairs that occur in his profession and should not jump into affairs without background knowledge of the Sharee’ah.  He should be careful of (Sigmund) Freud’s absurdities, fictitious and false views, and should not be deceived by (Charles) Darwin. Abu Hurairah [radiyallaahu-anhu] said that the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, “A slave (of Allaah) may utter a word which pleases Allaah, without giving it much importance, and because of that Allaah will raise him to degrees (of reward); a slave (of Allaah) may utter a word (carelessly) which displeases Allaah, without thinking of its gravity, and because of that he will be thrown into the Hell-fire”. [Saheeh al-Bukhaari Number 6478]

Quote: The Muslim doctor should be careful of what is transmitted in the medical journals [or textbooks] and he should not accept everything transmitted in them without ascertaining its correctness, for indeed knowledge is established either through a trustworthy transmission or an unquestionable view point. The affairs of medicine attributed to the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] should be checked as to whether their chains of transmission are authentic, and the affairs of medicine that are established by way of opinions [i.e. through study and research etc] should be examined to find out whether they are [sound, unsound, or whether they contain flaws, sin, offence etc]. He should not be an easy and legitimate prey whom the enemies of Allaah use as a path to transmit that which opposes the Religion of Islaam and causes harm to the Muslims; rather he should know that everything that comes to him regarding modern medicine has to be subjected to research and has to be ascertained.

Medical practice is one of the noblest occupations because its subject matter is about the life of the human being. Its aim and purpose is to preserve the health of the human being, strengthen physical well-being and distance a person from illness. The need for medicine is great and a person is in need of it in every situation. That is because one is in need of good health in order to carry out work and fulfil obligations in this life and that is the reason behind the creation of the human being. Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ – And I (Allah) created not the jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone)]. [51:56]

So the aim behind medicine is to preserve health, strengthen the body’s physical well-being and distance it from illness. One of the virtues of medicine is that it preserves life and this is one of the five necessities which Islaam came to preserve, and they are: Religion, Life, Intellect, Honour and Wealth. It helps a Muslim and the society to repel harm and it is well known that the messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: لا ضرر ولا ضرار – There should be neither harming nor reciprocating harm. [Reported by Ibn Maajah 2341; Ahmad 1/313]

It fulfils the obligation of co-operation upon righteousness and piety from another angle, and with regards to this the doctor fulfils the statement of Allaah: [وَتَعَاوَنُوا عَلَى الْبِرِّ وَالتَّقْوَىٰ – Help you one another in Al-Birr and At-Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety) 5:2]

Fulfilment of the command of the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam]: Usaamah Bin Sharik [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, “A Bedouin said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam]! Should we seek medical treatment?’  He [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, ‘Seek medical treatment, for Allaah has not created any disease but He has also created a remedy for it, except for one disease- old age’”. [Reported by Abu Dawud Number 3855]

One should hope for Allaah’s reward and good recompense, one should be sincere to Allaah in such a profession and not practice medicine only for their status to be acknowledged; rather one should be sincere and hope for Allaah’s reward. Alqamah Ibn Waqqaas Al-Laythiy said, “I heard Umar Ibn Al-khattaab [radiyallaahu-anhu] saying whilst on the pulpit, ‘I heard the Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] saying, ‘Actions are (judged) by intentions and every person will have what he intended. So he whose migration was to Allah and His Messenger, his migration is to Allah and His Messenger. And he whose migration was for some worldly (gain) or for a woman to marry, then his migration is to that for which he migrated’”. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

The doctor must fear Allaah with regards to those affairs about which one is consulted, especially that which is related to the rights of the people, such as when a sick person approaches him for a sick note or when in need of a medical note to prove that one is fit for employment, or when consulted regarding a particular type of medication, or whether the state of health of an individual (woman) allows her to utilise contraception in order not to get pregnant, or whether her state of health warrants the removal of her ovaries. It has been reported in a hadeeth by Abu Hurairah [radiyallaahu-anhu] who said that the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: [الْمُسْتَشَارُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ – The consultee is in a position of trust] [Reported by Abu Dawud (rahimahullaah)’ Number 5128’ & declared Saheeh by Imaam Albaani (rahimahullaah) in his checking of Sunan Abee Dawud]

Few Reminders From The Above Hadeeth:

[الْمُسْتَشَارُ مُؤْتَمَنٌ   – The consultee is in a position of trust]

[المستشار -The Consultee]: He is the one whose opinion is sought regarding an affair of Maslahah [i.e. an affair that will bring about benefit and repel harm]. He is in a position of trust with regards to what he is asked and it is not permissible for him to deceive the one who consults him, by concealing the affair that would bring about benefit. [See Hadeeth Number 5062′ Vol 4’ page 259′ in Mirqaat Al-Mafaateeh Sharh Mishkaat Al-Masaabeeh]

This hadeeth is an evidence to show that the consultee has to (advise) with the course of action and opinion -in relation to the consultation – that which he would do for himself. It is not permissible that he directs his Muslim brother to something he would not be pleased with for himself. [Source: Awnul Ahadis Samadi, Sharhu Al-Adab Al-Mufrad’ Vol 1′ Hadeeth Number 256′ page 283]

The Muslim doctor should not make the patient a means to experimenting the effectiveness of a medication, especially if he fears that there would be great side effects, because this would violate the honour Allaah has bestowed on the children of Aadam. Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَلَقَدۡ كَرَّمۡنَا بَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ وَحَمَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ فِى ٱلۡبَرِّ وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ وَرَزَقۡنَـٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّيِّبَـٰتِ وَفَضَّلۡنَـٰهُمۡ عَلَىٰ ڪَثِيرٍ۬ مِّمَّنۡ خَلَقۡنَا تَفۡضِيلاً۬ – And indeed We have honoured the Children of Adam, and We have carried them on land and sea, and have provided them with At-Taiyibat(lawful good things), and have preferred them above many of those whom We have created with a marked preference]. [Surah Al-Is’raa Aayah 70]

This deed [i.e. using the patient as a means to experimenting the effectiveness of a medication] negates the command to safeguard the blood of a Muslim. The Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, “A Muslim is the brother of another Muslim, so neither should he oppress him nor hand him over to an oppressor. Whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allaah will fulfil his needs; whoever brought his [Muslim] brother out of discomfort, Allaah will bring him out of a discomfort from the discomforts of the Day of Resurrection, and whoever screened a Muslim, Allaah will screen him on the Day of Resurrection”. [Bukhaari Hadeeth Number 2442]

If the Muslim doctor is certain that the harm [or side effects] that will result from the medication is lesser than the harm caused by the continuation of the illness, then it is permissible to give the medication based on  choosing the lesser harm between two.

The Muslim doctor should ask the scholars regarding affairs that occur in his profession and should not jump into affairs without background knowledge of the Sharee’ah.

The Myth Of Darwinian Evolution (Part 4) – Hidden Archeology

The Muslim doctor should be careful of what is transmitted in the medical journals [or textbooks] and he should not accept everything transmitted in them without ascertaining its correctness, for indeed knowledge is established either through a trustworthy transmission or an unquestionable view point.

The doctor should believe that his knowledge of medicine is nothing else but only a means (of cure). As for the effects and effectiveness (of the cure), it is decided by Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) if He (Allaah) wishes to give cure and well-being. Allaah (The Most High) stated (that Ibraaheem- alayhis-salaam said): [وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ – And when I (i.e. Ibraaheem) am ill, it is He (Allaah) who cures me]. [26:80] So Allaah is the one who gives cure and not others. The doctor should make this known to the patient.

He should be pleased with the Divine Will and Decree of Allaah. Abdullaah Ibn Abbaas (radiyallaahu-anhumaa) said, “Once I was riding behind the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam), so he said, ‘O young man, I shall teach you some words (of advice). Be mindful of Allaah, and Allaah will protect you. Be mindful of Allaah, and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, ask Allaah (Alone). If you seek help, seek help from Allaah (alone). Know that if the nation were to gather together to benefit you with something, they would not benefit with anything except that which Allaah has already recorded for you. If they gather to harm you by something, they would not be able to harm you by anything except what Allaah has already recorded against you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried’”. [Recorded by Tirmidhee who said it is a Hasan Saheeh hadith. Number 20516]

So neither should a doctor be beguiled by his knowledge of medicine nor make objections to the power and position of his Lord (Allaah). He should know that the affairs of the creation alternate based on Allaah’s (The Most High) decrees. [An Excerpt from Akhlaaq Tabeeb Al-Muslim pages 4-18. Slightly paraphrased]

Ethnic Separatists, Jihadist Insurgency And Mass Protests – [Brief Unambiguous Reminder And Guidance – For Jason Burke a Journalist Based In Johannesburg – Regarding These Affairs]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

In a previous article, we rebutted Jason Burke for attaching the word Islam to the words Radical and Militant when he stated as follows ‘Radical Islamist Groups’ and ‘Islamic Militant Factions’. See here: https://salaficentre.com/2020/07/14/1-a-brief-rebuttal-against-jason-burke-a-journalist-based-in-johannesburg-for-defiling-the-word-islamic-by-attaching-the-words-militant-and-radical-to-it-whilst-repo/

Once again in an article he wrote on August 18, 2020, he used the term Islamist Extremists’ and we have already rebutted him – in the link above – for doing so, because indeed the people he described as extremists were none else but the Khawaarij and their actions are Un-islamic, so why attach the word Islaam to their actions; rather a well-informed or honest writer would either refer to them as people who abuse religion due to ignorance, and obviously ignorance leads to Extremism and Misguidance and not so called Islamic Extremism!

Also in his article dated August 18, whilst reporting about events in Mali, he mentioned ‘Ethnic Separatists’, Jihadist Insurgency’ and ‘Mass Protests’. Therefore, in this article, we are going to give some more detail regarding these terms to show that the Pure and Infallible Islamic Religion has nothing to do with ‘Ethnic Separatism’, Jihadist Insurgency’ and ‘Mass Protests’, because Jason did not detail these affairs to show that Islam condemns them.

Ethnic Separatism

Allaah [The Most High] said:

O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another. Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has the most Taqwah. Verily, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Aware. [Surah Al-Hujuraat. Aayah 13]

Some Benefits derived from the above Ayah: [لِتَعَارَفُوا  – that you may know one another]: Meaning: So that you may know one another and how close you all are to one another in lineage, but not out of boastfulness. Then Allaah informed us that the most elevated amongst them [i.e. the children of Aadam] are those who fear Allaah the most. The Prophet [salla-laahu-alayhi-wasalam] said: “Learn your lineages so that you can maintain ties of kinship…..” [Ref 1]

Therefore, ascription to a tribe and a nation is affirmed in Islaam. The companions of the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] used to ascribe themselves to their tribes and their people in the presence of the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam], and he never disapproved of that. [Ref 2]

The Messenger (ﷺ) said: Indeed, Allaah [The Most High] has removed from you the pride of the pre-Islamic period and its boasting about ancestors. One is only a pious believer or a wretched sinner. You are sons of Adam and Adam (was created from) dust. Let the people abandon boasting about their ancestors, for they are merely fuel in Jahannam; or they will become more insignificant in (the sight of) Allah than the beetle which rolls dung with its nose. [Ref 3]

The Messenger [sallal-laahu-aalayhi-wasallam] said, ‘’Whoever is held back by his deeds, his (nobility) of lineage will not push him forward.” [Ref 4]  Imaam Nawawi [rahimahullaah] said, ‘’Its meaning is that the one whose deeds are deficient and he does not catch up with the performers of (good) deeds, then it is obligatory upon him not to crown himself with nobility of lineage and the virtues of his forefathers, whilst he is lagging behind in (performing good) deeds.” [Ref 5]

Ubay bin ka’b [radiyallaahu-anhu] said: Two men [mentioned their] lineages during the lifetime of Allaah’s Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam]; one of them said [to the other]: ‘’I am Fulaan the son of Fulaan [i.e. mentioning his name and that of his parents, grandparents etc.], so who are you [with] no mother? [i.e. rebuking him]. So Allaah’s Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: “Two men [mentioned their] lineages during the lifetime of Moosaa [alayhis-salaam]; one of them said [to the other]: “I am Fulaan son of Fulaan, until he counted nine [people from his lineage], so who are you [with] no mother” [i.e. rebuking the other]. He [the other person] said: “I am Fulaan the son of Fulaan, the son of Islaam.” So Allaah revealed to Moosaa [alayhis-salaam]: ‘’Indeed those two who [mentioned their] lineages, as for you ascribed or attributed to nine, [they] are in the hell fire and you are the tenth amongst them. And as for you ascribed or attributed to two, [they] are in paradise and you are the third of them.” [Ref 6]

Customs: Imaam Ash-Shaatibee [rahimahullaah] stated in Al-Muwaafaqaat that Customs are many different types- some are sound and others are corrupt. The sound customs are those that neither oppose the Sharee’ah texts nor lead to losing an affair deem to be beneficial by the Sharee’ah, nor lead to an affair which the Sharee’ah deems to be corrupt. As for the corrupt customs, they are those that oppose the evidences in the Sharee’ah or some of the principles of the Sharee’ah, such as some of the customary dealings in usury, and those deeds deemed to be evil by the Sharee’ah which the people engage in during occasions of happiness (or rejoicing etc) [Ref 7] [NB: Whenever we are unsure whether a certain custom of our nation, tribe or clam is permissible or not, we should seek clarification from the people of knowledge].

Mass Protests

Question to Shaikh Rabee Bin Haadi [hafidhahullaah]:

Going out to demonstrations, [initiating] revolutions and nurturing the youth upon it; is this from the methodology of Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jamaa’ah or not, whether [carried] out within or outside the Muslim countries?

Answer:

This is the methodology of Marx (i.e. Carl Marx), Lenin (i.e. Vladimir Lenin) and those similar to them. It is not from the Islamic methodology. Revolutions, bloodshed, trials and troubles are Marx’s and Lenin’s school of thought. [Ref 8]

Al-Allaamah Zayd Bin Haadi Al-Madkhali [rahimahullaah] said:

Protests [or demonstrations] are newly invented matters in the religion. Every newly invented matter in the religion is a bidah; every bidah is misguidance and every misguidance is in the hell fire [i.e. is a path leading to the hell fire]. Allaah’s legislation is perfect and complete-based on The Book and The Sunnah-and we do not know of anything by way of the evidences in the Book and the Sunnah that makes it permissible for a handful of people to gather for demonstrations, which causes disturbance for the people and time wasting. And greater than this [disturbance and time wasting] is abandonment of the prayers [during protests] and the loss of life [i.e. murder]. If one was to kill a Muslim in a single protest, the one [or those] who called to such protests will carry his sins-be it an individual, a group or those who participate. It has been reported in an authentic hadeeth: The termination of the world means less to Allah than the killing of a Muslim [i.e. without right].[Ref 9]

These protests are nothing but bidah and acts of misguidance advocated by shaytaan; [enticed] by the urge of the evil soul and desires. And these enemies [i.e. shaytaan, the urge of the evil soul and desires] do not come together in any affair except that the religion and worldly affairs are destroyed, just as it is the case in these demonstrations [or protests].

The end results of protests [or demonstrations]: Carnage, destruction, wastage of wealth and time and terrorising those living in peace. And how many disadvantages are there in [that]! It is enough to be considered something sinister due to the fact that the Noble Messengers and the Great Prophets who were put to trial and harmed by their people did not hold protests [or demonstrations]. Neither did they engage in plotting to cause explosions nor committing suicide; rather Islaam has forbidden all of that.

Those who call to protests [or demonstrations] and hold that there is success in it, they are mistaken and they have missed the correct path. Rectification of the affairs can only be by way of the Book and The Sunnah in accordance with the understanding of those scholars who are firmly grounded in knowledge. So whoever calls the people to this chaos, then indeed he has brought about a means to corrupting the land and the slaves, and what has occurred – in the past and at present- is a witness to that.

Therefore, we warn the students of knowledge that they are not persuaded by the speech of those who allow protests [or demonstrations]. They say that peaceful demonstrations are permissible-as they categorise it into this categorisation- without proofs and concrete evidence from the Book and the Sunnah- neither from the actions of the Messenger and the Noble Sahaabah nor from the Notable Imaams; rather the verdict on protests [or demonstrations] is only what has been stated earlier and as well as what has been written by other than myself [i.e. protests (or demonstrations) are not permissible] [Ref 10]

Muslim Journalists – [Admonitions and Reminders Regarding The Tongue, The Pen And Behaviour]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

A Warning Regarding What One Utters or Writes

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And indeed We have created man, and We know what his ownself whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge). (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). [Surah Qaaf. Aayaat 16-18]

Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu-anhu) said that the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said, ‘’A slave (of Allaah) may utter a word which pleases Allaah, without giving it much importance, and because of that Allaah will raise him to degrees (of reward); a slave (of Allaah) may utter a word (carelessly) which displeases Allaah, without thinking of its gravity, and because of that he will be thrown into the Hell-fire.’’ [Saheeh al-Bukhaari Number 6478]

Whoever Commits Three Affairs Will Be Hunted By Them – By Imaam Ibn Qutaybah [rahimahullaah]

It used to be said that whoever perpetrates these three acts  will be haunted by them:

[1] Rebellion against Allaah’s commandments.

Allaah [The Most High] said:

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا بَغْيُكُمْ عَلَىٰ أَنْفُسِكُمْ

O mankind! Your rebellion (disobedience to Allah) is only against your ownselves.

[Soorah Yoonus: Ayah: 23]

[2] Evil plotting.

Allaah [The Most High] said:

وَلَا يَحِيقُ الْمَكْرُ السَّيِّئُ إِلَّا بِأَهْلِهِ

But the evil plot encompasses only him who makes it.

[Soorah Faatir: Ayah: 43]

[3] Breaking pledges.

Allaah [The Most High] said:

فَمَنْ نَكَثَ فَإِنَّمَا يَنْكُثُ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِهِ

Then whosoever breaks his pledge only breaks it to his own harm.

[Soorah Al-Fath: Ayah: 10]

Journalists Should Be Truthful – By Shaikh Muqbil [rahimahullaah]

Shaikh Muqbil Bin Haadee Al-Waadi’ee [rahimahullaah] said:

In the majority of cases the journalists are capricious, so they praise the rulers in order to be given wealth. And it may be that they accept the realities, whilst launching attacks against the people of knowledge. Therefore, a person should be principled and truthful, and he should not care who opposes him; but if he is capricious, then the people will not be at ease with his newspaper because it becomes that of lies as well as its articles. [1]

The Slave of The Deenaar and Dirham – By Shaikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [hafidhahullaah]

Narrated Abu Hurairah [radiyallaahu-anhu]: The Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, “let the slave of the Deenaar and Dirham, and Qateefah and khameesah [i.e. money and luxurious clothes] perish, for he is pleased if these things are given to him, and if not, he is displeased”. [Bukhaari. Number 2886]

Shaikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] commented on this hadeeth as follows:

This hadeeth is about the one who only seeks after the Dunyah [worldly possessions] and does not desire the Hereafter; rather his only desire is Dunyah. He does not give concern to his religion, rather his only concern is the Dunyah; so if he is given something from the Dunyah he becomes pleased with Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] and the people; but if he is not given from it, he becomes displeased with Allaah and the people.

[تعس ]- meaning ‘destroyed’.  [التعس] means ‘destruction’ and unsuccessful. [Allaah (The Most High) said]: [وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ فَتَعۡسً۬ا لَّهُمۡ – But those who disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah), for them is destruction. (47:8)]

Why is he called a slave [of the Deenaar and dirham]? That is because he attaches his heart to it [i.e. wealth], so the worldly life becomes as if it is his lord. He attaches his heart to it and becomes enslaved by it. The poet says:

*I obeyed my desires and thus they enslaved me

*And had I indeed been satisfied [with what I have] I would have been free

Therefore, this man’s concern is [only] the Dunyah- if given from it he becomes pleased, praises and extols; but if not given, indeed he is displeased and angry, just as Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all Imperfections] stated about the hypocrites:

وَمِنۡہُم مَّن يَلۡمِزُكَ فِى ٱلصَّدَقَـٰتِ فَإِنۡ أُعۡطُواْ مِنۡہَا رَضُواْ وَإِن لَّمۡ يُعۡطَوۡاْ مِنۡہَآ إِذَا هُمۡ يَسۡخَطُونَ

And of them are some who accuse you (O Muhammad) in the matter of (the distribution of) the alms. If they are given part thereof, they are pleased, but if they are not given thereof, behold! They are enraged! [9:58]

Their pleasure and displeasure is attached to wealth. The one who (becomes) pleased and displeased (solely) for the sake of wealth is a hypocrite, a slave of the Deenaar and the Dirham. Allaah [The Most High] said: [ وَلَوۡ أَنَّهُمۡ رَضُواْ مَآ ءَاتَٮٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ۥ وَقَالُواْ حَسۡبُنَا ٱللَّهُ سَيُؤۡتِينَا ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ وَرَسُولُهُ ۥۤ إِنَّآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ رَٲغِبُونَ – Would that they were contented with what Allah and His Messenger () gave them and had said: “Allah is Sufficient for us. Allah will give us of His Bounty, and (also) His Messenger (from alms, etc.). We implore Allah (to enrich us)]. [9:59]

This (hadeeth) conveys a rebuke against covetousness and that a person should not solely be pleased or displeased due to the Dunyah, rather his anger and pleasure should be for the sake of his religion and for the sake of Allaah. As for the Dunyah, if he is given something of it he takes it; but if not given anything from it, then indeed he should say: “Allaah suffices me and He will give me give from His bounty”.

When the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] used to distribute wealth, he used to give those whose Eemaan was weak and the hypocrites – gave them more; but he did not give anything to the best of the Sahaabah; rather he entrusted them to their religion, for indeed due to their [strong] Eemaan they would not become angry if not given. As for the people of weak Eemaan, the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] feared that they will be enraged, so he gave them and brought their hearts closer [the religion].

So this [hadeeth also conveys the affair of] piety and that it is obligated on a person not to attach his heart to the Dunyah [i.e. in the blameworthy manner mentioned in this hadeeth] – solely getting angry and pleased due to it; rather he should attach his heart to Allaah. As for the Dunyah, if he is given something lawful from it- which he did not ask for- then indeed he takes it and utilises it as a means of obedience to Allaah; but if he is not given anything, then indeed his religion suffices him and he places his trust and reliance in Allaah. This is the difference between the people of the Dunyah [i.e. those who solely strive for it at the expense of the Aakhirah] and the people of the Deen [i.e. those who seek after lawful provision in the worldly life and make the afterlife their main goal]. [Ref 2]

The Behaviour of The Muslim When Others Are Given Preference Over Him – By Shaikh Zayd Bin Haadee [rahimahullaah]

Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, “Indeed, you will see Atharatan after me and affairs you’ll disapprove; they [i.e. the people] said, ‘What do you command us O Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasaallam]?’ He said, ‘Fulfil their rights [i.e. the rulers] and ask Allaah for your rights’”.

Atharatan: meaning- [some people will give precedence to themselves (i.e. spend wealth on themselves and engage in worldly enjoyment, but will not give others their rightful share)].

Shaikh Zaid Bin Haadi Al-Madkhali [rahumahullaah] said: This authentic hadeeth is related to the affair of the rulers- during the end of time – when they will give precedence to themselves through enjoyment of the worldly things and those under their authority will face harm, something of oppression and tyranny; so the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] guided and directed the people to fulfil the rights of the rulers; obey and listen to them in that which is good- whether it is during a time in which one is enthusiastic [to listen and obey them in what is good] or feeling laxadaisical- perform Jihaad behind their banner against the enemies of the religion, establish the prayer and behave in a manner obligated by the Islamic legislation. They should not rebel against the ruler just because he is a sinner or an oppressor, nor refrain from giving him the rights obligated on them to give him; rather they should fulfil his rights just as the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] commanded them, saying, “Fulfil their rights”.

Therefore, the ruler has rights that should be fulfilled by his subjects and the subjects also have rights to be fulfilled by the ruler. It is obligated on the ruler to fulfil their rights and it is obligated on them to fulfil his rights. However, if he [i.e. the ruler] falls short in something related to their rights, it is not permissible for them to [deliberately] fall short in fulfilling his rights. And due to the great importance of rulership and the rulers, indeed the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] commanded them to fulfil the obligation of As-sam’i Wat-taa’ah [i.e. to listen and obey the ruler in good], refrain from disobedience[when commanded to do something good], supplicate to Allaah to make their affairs easy and change their state of affairs to that which is good, aid them to fulfil their needs and those affairs they cannot do without.

This hadeeth contains a miracle of the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] and that is the fact that he clearly stated that during the end of time, the rulers will give precedence to themselves with something of wealth and worldly enjoyment, and others will be deprived of it. Also, there will be affairs which the people of sound judgement will reject. [So], when this era comes, it is obligated on them – those under the rulership of a Muslim ruler – to listen and obey in that which is good, fulfil the rights that have been obligated on them to fulfil and seek their rights from Allaah – meaning: they supplicate to Allaah to aid them in fulfilling their needs and facilitate them with ease in their affairs. And Allaah knows best. [Ref 3]

The Rulers Are Not Fought, But The Khawaarij Are Fought – By Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah]

Shaikhul Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said: Indeed Ahlul Bidah are more evil than the people of sinful desires and [this is confirmed by way of] text and Ijmaa (consensus of the scholars); for indeed the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) commanded that the khawaarij are to be fought [i. e. by the Muslim ruler], but he (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) forbade (us) from fighting the oppressive rulers. (Ref a) And he (sallal laahu alayhi wasallam) said about the man who drank alcohol [i.e. the one who was brought to the Messenger due to drunkenness (Ref b)]: “Do not curse him, for indeed he loves Allah and His Messenger”; but he (sallal laahu alayhi wasallam) said about Dhul Khuwaysirah: A people will appear from this man, who will recite the Qur’aan but it will not go beyond their throats and they will exit the religion as an arrow passes through a target. You will belittle your prayer compared to your prayer, your fasting compared to their fasting and your recitation of the Qur’aan compared to their recitation. Kill them wherever you find them [i.e. whenever they come out to fight, the Muslim ruler should rally his armies against them (Ref c)]; for indeed there is a reward on the day of judgement for the one who kills them. The Correct Manner of Enjoining Good And Forbidding Evil – By Shaikh Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [rahimahullaah]

Question to Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz (Rahimahullaah):

Is enjoining good and forbidding evil by the hand obligated on all Muslims or is it just for those in authority and their deputies?

Answer: Correcting what is wrong is obligated on all Muslims according to their ability, because the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, “Whoever amongst you sees evil, then let him stop it by his hand; if they cannot, then with his tongue, and if they cannot, then with their heart [i.e. hating it and keeping away from it], and that is the weakest of Eeman.

However, stopping evil by the hand must be based on ability that will not result in greater corruption or evil. A man has the right to rectify matters with his hand in his home and a manager has the authority to make changes with the hand within the organization they are responsible for [i.e. without violating the law of the land in dealing with family and employees], otherwise, people should not stop evil with their hand anything they are not authorized to stop.  If stop evil in matters that they have not been given authority, then this will lead to more evil and great corruption between them, the people and the government.

However, they should stop evil with their tongue. They may say: “O such and such person! Fear Allah! That is not permissible, this is Haraam” or “That is obligated on you,” and clarify it based on the Sharee’ah proofs. This is what can be done through the tongue. As for stopping evil with the hand, this should be carried out where one has been given authority, such as one’s home [i.e. within the law] or those authorized by the ruler, such as the organizations given permission and authority to enjoin good. They should make changes in accordance to the authority given to them, in the way prescribed by the Sharee’ah without exceeding their authority. The same applies to the governor of a city, he should make changes with his hand based on the instructions he has been given. [Ref 4]

Haste is From Shaytaan – By Shaikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [hafidhahullaah]

The Messenger of Allaah [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, “Haste is from shaytaan”. [Ref 5]

Shaikh Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] says:

[a] There should be no haste without a [good] reason.

[b] When one hastens to do something, he should be calm and composed lest he ends up not acquiring what he seeks to accomplish.

[c] Don’t hasten when pursuing affairs – either when passing judgements on things or statements -before contemplating [i.e. contemplation based on knowledge and not assumptions, guessing etc], because it maybe that you are the one who is mistaken.

[d] A person should not hasten to pass judgements, especially judgements related to the Sharee’ah- declaring something lawful or unlawful before contemplating or before passing judgements against the people and thus oppress them-  this is wrong. Therefore, it is obligatory to take due care when pursuing affairs. Gentleness is not found in anything except that it beautifies it; so, do not hasten in pursuit of something [i.e. without a need and without contemplating].

A Warning Against Yusuf Al-Qaradaawee – By Shaikh Ubaid [hafidhahullaah] and Shaikh Muqbil [rahimahullaah]

Shaikh Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiree [hafidhahulaah] said: Qaradaawee is a leader in the furthest depths of misguidance, and he is not upon guidance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tH_ar2erh7E

Shaikh Muqbil Bin Haadee Al-Waadi’ee [rahimahullaah] said:

Some of the Hizbiyyoon (illegal partisans) will say: A scholar amongst the scholars and you call him a barking dog! This is great O Abaa AbdirRahmaan! A scholar amongst the scholars! The Mufti of Qatar!

Listen to Allaah’s statement:

And recite (O Muhammad) to them the story of him to whom We gave Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), but he threw them away, so Shaitan (Satan) followed him up, and he became of those who went astray.  And had We willed, We would surely have elevated him therewith but he clung to the earth and followed his own vain desire. So his description is the description of a dog: if you drive him away, he lolls his tongue out, or if you leave him alone, he (still) lolls his tongue out. Such is the description of the people who reject Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.). So relate the stories, perhaps they may reflect.  Evil is the likeness of the people who reject Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses and signs, etc.), and used to wrong their ownselves. [Soorah A’raaf: Ayaat:175-177]

Allaah (The Most High) said:

The likeness of those who were entrusted with the (obligation of the) Taurat (Torah) (i.e. to obey its commandments and to practise its legal laws), but who subsequently failed in those (obligations), is as the likeness of a donkey who carries huge burdens of books (but understands nothing from them). [Soorah Al-Juma-ah: Ayah 5]

Allaah (The Most High) said:

إِنَّ شَرَّ ٱلدَّوَآبِّ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلصُّمُّ ٱلۡبُكۡمُ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَعۡقِلُونَ

Verily! The worst of (moving) living creatures with Allah are the deaf and the dumb, those who understand not. [Soorah Anfaal: Ayah:22]

Allaah (The Most High) said:

وَلَوْ عَلِمَ اللّهُ فِيهِمْ خَيْرًا لَّأسْمَعَهُمْ وَلَوْ أَسْمَعَهُمْ لَتَوَلَّواْ وَّهُم مُّعْرِضُونَ

Had Allah known of any good in them, He would indeed have made them listen, and even if He had made them listen, they would but have turned away, averse (to the truth).

So I say: Abdullaah Bin Sabah Al-Yahoodee-the one who came from San’a and arrived in Madeenah–manifested asceticism, fear of Allaah, worship and other than that in Islaam. (He manifested) enjoining good and forbidding evil, and thereafter he disseminated trials and became the cause of much trial. Therefore, the Sunni must be recognized as opposed to the hizbiy (illegal partisan).  And I do not say that he (Al-Qaradaawee) is a Christian or a Jew; rather (we have been) asked (about him), for indeed his falsehoods which he makes to resemble the truth are dangerous. Who Is More Knowledgeable Amongst The Students of Knowledge? [A Brief Reflection With My Younger Brothers Who Ask This Question]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Who Is More Knowledgeable Amongst The Students of Knowledge

We used to ask this question over twenty years ago and today we hear our younger brothers asking the same question.

Firstly, it is enough for us to know that we have well-known Ulama in this Ummah – the likes of Shaikh Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz, Shaikh Muhammad Bin Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen, Shaikh Al-Albaanee, Shaikh Muhammad Amaan Al-Jaamee, Shaikh Saleeh Al-Fawzaan, Shaikh Rabee, Shaikh Abdul Azeez Aala Ash-Shaikh, Shaikh Abdullaah Ghudiyaan, Shaikh Al-Luhaydaan, Shaikh Hammaad Al-Ansaaree, Shaikh Umar Fullaata, Shaikh Ubaid Bin Abdillaah Al-Jaabiree, Shaikh Abdullaah Al-Bukhaaree, Shaikh Abdul Muhsin Al-Abbaad, Shaikh Muqbil Bin Haadee Al-Waadi’ee, Shaikh Taqiyuddeen Al-Hilaalee and others [may Allaah have mercy upon those amongst them who have passed away and preserve those who are alive].

Secondly, Shaikh Rabee [may Allaah preserve him] was asked: Shaikh Al-Albaanee, Shaikh Ibn Baaz and Shaikh Uthaymeen have passed away, so who remains from the scholars?

Answer: Those who remain are numerous and all praise is due to Allaah.  The Messenger of Allaah [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] died and his noble companions [radiyallaahu-anhum] remained. Ahmad Ibn Hanbal [rahimahullaah] died and his companions [rahimahumullaah] remained. Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] died and his companions [rahimahumullaah] remained. Ibn Abdul Wahhaab [rahimahullaah] died and his companions [rahimahumullaah] remained. And those ones [i.e. Albaanee, Ibn Baaz, Uthaymeen (rahimahumullaah)] died and their students and brothers remain by Allaah’s Will.  The truth will not be lost.

When Umar [radiyallaahu-anhu] was stabbed, it was said to him, “Appoint a successor!” He said, “Allaah will not allow His Religion to be lost”.  So by Allaah this Religion will never be lost. It is upon you to put shoulder to shoulder and embark upon work-raise the flag of the [authentic] Sunnah and the flag of the truth.  [The Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam)] said, “There will not cease to be a group amongst my Ummah manifest upon the truth-neither will they be harmed by those who betray them nor by those who oppose them till Allaah’s promise come to pass (i.e. the day of Judgement)”.

By Allaah! Neither knowledge nor the committee of senior scholars have died-all praise is due to Allaah-and there is good and blessing with them. Our Salafi brothers are in the different regions of the world. The world is filled with senior students of knowledge who fill this gap-all praise is due to Allaah. Therefore, neither can the people of falsehood rejoice nor become happy. [Source: الذريعة إلى بيان مقاصد كتاب الشريعة -1/ 208-209. Slightly paraphrased]

Thirdly, our foremost concern should be to acquire sound knowledge, acquaint ourselves with sound proofs and ask Allaah to enable us to act based on sound proofs. Shaikh Rabee [hafidhahullaah] said: “And [with regards to] the person with the proofs, it is obligatory to take his speech [on the grounds] of following Allaah’s Legislation and Proofs, and not [due to] the personality of that person. [Source: (See Majmoo 9/40) 3rd paragraph]

Shaikh Rabee [hafidhahullaah] also said: The seeker of truth is not diverted from the truth, fairness and justice due to admiration of the big personalities and being amazed by them, for indeed the truth is more worthy to be followed. It is not permissible to drop  the proofs for the sake of this or that great man. The principle [rule] of the Muslim – the unbiased one, the seeker of truth – is always:

[قُلْ هَاتُوا بُرْهَانَكُمْ إِن كُنتُمْ صَادِقِينَ -Say, Bring forth your proofs if you are truthful]. [Surah An-Nahl. Aayah 64] [Source: Al-Mulakh-khasul Jameel Fee Bayaani Manhaji Ash-Shaikh Rabee Fid-Da’wati Wal-Jarhi Wat-Ta’deel. Page 87]

Question to Shaikh Saaleh al-Fawzaan [hafidhahullaah]: What is the meaning of the principle: The truth is not known by way of men, rather men are known by way of the truth?

Answer: Its meaning is that we do not merely blindly follow anyone, for it may be that one is blindly followed based on error; it may be that the Mujtahid is mistaken and the one who makes [a statement or holds an opinion] is mistaken, so we do not take [his statement,  opinion etc] and say, “This is the statement of such as such; this is truth, because such and such is good, he is a scholar; such and such is Taqiy [i.e. one who fears Allaah]”. We do not say this because he is not infallible and he can make a mistake; so we know men by way of the truth – those who know; those who take [or adhere to] the proofs and indeed they are known to be scholars. As for those who do not give concern [or importance] to the proofs, they are not scholars; they are not people of [sound] understanding and they are not people of knowledge, so their statement is never taken straight away. It is imperative that the proof is presented, so if the proof is established as witness to [what he says or holds etc], then it is the truth; but if he opposes the proof, then indeed [his statement or opinion] is rejected; however if he is a Mujtahid and he is mistaken, he is rewarded [once] due to his Ijtihaad; but if he deliberately holds on to error, he has sinned. [Paraphrased. Refer to video here: https://safeshare.tv/x/tyVyzaoU0tw# ]

https://salaficentre.com/2012/06/24/the-permissible-and-prohibited-forms-of-taqleed-salafipublications-com-article-id-mnj060005/

Fourthly, as for who is more knowledgeable amongst the scholars, then this is something the senior scholars can tell us because they are at that level of knowledge to judge others, but one must always remember that regardless of the knowledge possessed by a person, our only desire should be that we want to follow the truth.

Fifthly, as for who is more knowledgeable amongst the students of knowledge, then we generally go by the recommendations given to the well-known students of knowledge amongst us, but what is very interesting is that you will find those very same students of knowledge giving precedence to others and saying that others are more knowledgeable than them. I once said to our beloved teacher and elder, Ustaadh Abdul Waahid Abu Khadeejah [hafidhahullaah], because sometimes I deliberately ask him specific questions to grab his attention and use it as a means of prolonging the conversation on other Masaa’il…so I once said to him, “Ustaadh, I can see that you are very gentle these days”, so he said to me, “What do you want me to do, rather I follow the footsteps of my Shaikh Abu Hakeem”. And we have seen Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah sitting in the Duroos of Ustaadh Abu Hakeem [hafidhahullaah].

Likewise, I once consulted both Ustaadh Uwais At-Taweel and Ustaadh Abdul Ilaah [hafidhahumallaah] about an important affair of Dawah, so they said to me, “Wait for Abu Khadeejah to return from Umrah and he will deal with it”. And I have heard Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah said, “Amongst the most meticulous transmitters in the English language [i.e. understanding the works of the scholars and transmitting them to the English speaker] are Abu Talhah [rahimahullaah] and Abu Iyaadh [hafidhahullaah]. And recently I teased Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah saying, “Ustaadh, why are you quiet about Muhammad Hijaab?! I think getting older is making you very soft”. So, he looked at me for a while and said, “What do you want me to do when Abu Iyaadh is dealing with him”. Then – by the grace of Allaah – Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah prolonged the conservation and benefited me, Awzaan, uncle Shabeer and others with many other affairs regarding the evil Mukhaalifoon, the repugnant behaviour of Muhammad Hijaab and his ilk. Likewise, we have heard – many times – Ustaadh Abu Idrees [hafidhahullaah] mentioning how much he has benefited from the students at Maktabah Salafiyyah. Also one thing to bear in mind is that if any of us were to consult a student in the Maraakiz about an affair of Dawah, they would direct you to other students who have more experience in the matter just as others would direct you to them in matters they have more expertise.

Few days ago whilst I was on a journey to Stoke On Trent with my beloved companion, teacher and friend Ustaadh Abu Tasneem Mushaf Al-Banghaalee [hafidhahullaah], we spoke about the importance of giving people the status they deserve. Then we both stated the fact that even though Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah is a few years older than both of us – [I at the age of 49 and Ustaadh Abu Tasneem at the age of 48], however why do we return to the likes of Ustaadh Abu Khadeejah [hafidhahullaah] in matters of Dawah and even when seeking personal advice?! We both spoke with the same statement which was that we acknowledge the fact that he excels us in knowledge and experience; he is steadfast by the Tawfeeq of Allaah and well-known to the upright scholars [may Allaah protect him and all our teachers Aameen]. Therefore, I [Abdullah Jallow] say to my younger brothers, you can see how all these noble teachers value one another and give precedence to one another, so we benefit from all of them. They know the value of one another and may Allaah preserve them all.

So, after knowing the eldest students of knowledge amongst us, we also benefit from all the younger students who are well-known to us in the various Maraakiz and are recommended by the elders. However, if I [Abdullah Jallow] wanted to ask about the most knowledgeable amongst the students of knowledge, I would only do so to find out how I can receive the most benefit from their sittings and which lessons I need the most, and I would ask the eldest students about it. Neither would I speculate nor take the opinion of another non-student of knowledge like myself regardless how convincing his argument maybe.

Finally, let the scholars and all the upright students of knowledge be an example for us, so that we benefit from their wisdom and knowledge. And we ask Allaah to grant us many more scholars and students like them from those Salafi youngsters who have travelled to seek knowledge Aameen.

Reminder to An Arab Muslim Health Official Who Forgets The Worst Disaster Throughout Human History And Then Parrots Ideas of Alarmists And Fear-mongers Regarding Disease!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

They say, “Such and such disease is the worst human disaster of recent history!”

Firstly, we say to them, “Every disease has a cure whether you know it or not. Therefore, either a person blindly follows the alarmists, exaggerates and engages in fear-mongering about a disease that does not exist in order to fulfil a hidden agenda or he knows the cure but seeks to utilise it as tool of control, or he does not know the cure, therefore he should search for a cure and stop speculating”.

Secondly, we say to them: Allaah [The Most High] stated that Ibraaheem [alayhis salaam] said: [وَإِذَا مَرِضۡتُ فَهُوَ يَشۡفِينِ – And when I am ill, it is He [Allaah] Who cures me]. [Surah Ash-Shu’araa. Aayah 80] – Meaning: When I become sick, none is able to heal me, except Allaah, by way of the means that may lead to recovery [i.e. by His Will]. [Ref 1]

Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood [radiyallaahu-ahu] said, “Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam said, ‘Allaah did not send down any disease except that he also sent its cure.” In another narration, the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, ‘One who has knowledge of it knows it, and one ignorant of it is ignorant’”. [Ref 2]

The Messenger [sallal laahu aalayhi wasallam] said, “Treat your sick by giving Sadaqah”. [Ref 3] AbuBakr Al-Khubaaziy [rahimahullaah] said, “I had a very dangerous illness, so a neighbour of mine saw me and said, ‘Act upon the statement of Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam], ‘Treat your sick by giving Sadaqah’. It was summertime, so I bought many watermelons and gathered a group of poor people and children. They ate and then supplicated for me to be cured. By Allaah! I did not reached the next morning except that Allaah granted me wellbeing’”. [Ref 4]

Thirdly, we say to them: The diseases of the heart are the greatest disaster throughout the history of humankind.

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said: There are two types of diseases: Disease of the heart and disease of the body, and both have been mentioned in the Qur’aan. The disease of the heart are two types: [a] The disease of Shubhah [i.e. an affair of falsehood that is made to resemble truth] and Shak [i.e. doubt]. [b] The disease of Shahwah [i.e. evil or vain desires or lewd conduct] and Ghay [i.e. deviation from the right path].  Both of them have been mentioned in the Qur’aan. Allaah [The Most High] stated regarding the disease of Shubhah: [   فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ فَزَادَهُمُ اللَّهُ مَرَضًا -In their hearts is a disease [of doubt and hypocrisy] and Allah has increased their disease. [2:10]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَلِيَقُولَ الَّذِينَ فِي قُلُوبِهِم مَّرَضٌ وَالْكَافِرُونَ مَاذَا أَرَادَ اللَّهُ بِهَٰذَا مَثَلًا ۚ – And that those in whose hearts is a disease [of hypocrisy] and the disbelievers may say: “What Allah intends by this (curious) example?] [74:31]

And Allaah [The Most High] stated about the one who is called to judge by the Qur’aan and the Sunnah, but he refuses and turns away:

And when they are called to Allah (i.e. His Words, the Qur’an) and His Messenger to judge between them, lo! a party of them refuse (to come) and turn away. But if the right is with them, they come to him willingly with submission. Is there a disease in their hearts? Or do they doubt or fear lest Allah and His Messenger should wrong them in judgement. Nay, it is they themselves who are the Zalimun (polytheists, hypocrites and wrong-doers, etc.).[24:48-50] This is the disease of Shubhah [i.e. an affair of falsehood that is made to resemble truth] and Shak [i.e. doubt].

As for the disease of Shahwa [evil desires], Allaah [The Most High] said: [يَا نِسَاءَ النَّبِيِّ لَسْتُنَّ كَأَحَدٍ مِّنَ النِّسَاءِ ۚ إِنِ اتَّقَيْتُنَّ فَلَا تَخْضَعْنَ بِالْقَوْلِ فَيَطْمَعَ الَّذِي فِي قَلْبِهِ مَرَضٌ – O wives of the Prophet! You are not like any other women. If you keep your duty (to Allah), then be not soft in speech, lest he in whose heart is a disease [i.e. evil desire for adultery, etc.] should be moved with desire, but speak in an honourable manner.” [Ahzaab: Ayah:32]  This is the disease of the evil desire for adultery, and Allaah knows best. [Ref 5]

Imaam As-Sadi [rahimahullaah] said: Allaah (The Most High) said: [فِي قُلُوبِهِمْ مَرَضٌ -In their hearts is a disease]. [Surah Ayah: 10 Soorah Al-Baqarah]- What is intended by disease here is: The disease of doubt, the disease of Shubuhaat [i.e. affairs that resemble truth but are falsehood in reality] and the disease of hypocrisy. That is because the heart is exposed to two (types) of diseases that takes it away from well-being and uprightness- the disease of shubuhaat and the disease of lowly destructive desires. Disbelief, hypocrisy, doubts and bidah are all from the disease of Shubuhaat. Fornication, love of lewd acts, disobedience and committing them are from the disease of lowly desires. [Ref 6]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ مَا هُوَ شِفَآءٌ۬ وَرَحۡمَةٌ۬ لِّلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ‌ۙ – And We send down from the Qur’an that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe (in Islamic Monotheism and act on it)]. [Soorah Al-Israa: Ayah 82]

Imaam Ibnul Jawzi (rahimahullaah) said: There are three statements (of the scholars) regarding the Qur’aan being a healing: [a] It is a healing for misguidance due to what it contains of guidance; [b] It is healing for illnesses due to what it contains of blessings; [c] It is healing due to its explanation and clarification of the obligatory duties and rulings of the religion. [Ref 7]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said: The Qur’aan is a healing for the hearts for the diseases of ignorance, doubt and scepticism.  Allaah (The Most High) has never revealed a cure that is neither more comprehensive and beneficial; nor greater and quicker in removing diseases than the Qur’aan.’’ [Ref 8]

Imaam Sadi (rahimahullaah) said: The healing that the Qur’aan contains covers all [diseases] of the hearts, such the disease of Shubhah [(i.e. an affair that is made to resemble truth but is falsehood in reality], ignorance, corrupt views, perversion and evil aims; for indeed the Qur’aan is gathered upon ‘Al-Ilm Al-Yaqeenee [i.e. Knowledge based on Absolute Certainty’ by way of which every Shubhah and affair of ignorance is removed, and it contains an admonition and a reminder by way of which every desire that is in opposition to the command of Allaah is removed]. And it is a healing for the bodies against what is harmful to them and its illnesses. As for it being a Mercy, it is due to the Asbaab [i.e. sound means] and Wasaa-il [i.e. paths, ways] it guides to, which if the slave [i.e. person] acts upon them, he (or she) will be successful (in receiving Allaah’s) Mercy and an everlasting happiness-reward in this worldly life and everlasting reward in the Hereafter.  [Ref 9]

Imaam Shanqeeti (rahimahullaah) said: It (i.e. the Qur’aan) combines healing for the diseases of the heart, such as doubt, hypocrisy and other than that. It is a healing for the bodies when utilised for ruqya, such as what took place in the story of the man who performed ruqya with Soorah Faatihah on a man who was stung and it is an authentic and famous story…. [Ref 10]

Finally, we remind them of the fact that that the greatest disaster a person can face is to die whilst committing Shirk. Allaah [The Most High] said:

حُنَفَآءَ لِلَّهِ غَيۡرَ مُشۡرِكِينَ بِهِۦ‌ۚ وَمَن يُشۡرِكۡ بِٱللَّهِ فَكَأَنَّمَا خَرَّ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَتَخۡطَفُهُ ٱلطَّيۡرُ أَوۡ تَهۡوِى بِهِ ٱلرِّيحُ فِى مَكَانٍ۬ سَحِيقٍ۬

Hunafaa’ Lillaah [i.e. worship none but Allaah], not associating partners [in worship, etc.] with Him; and whoever associates partners to Allaah, it is as if he had fallen from the sky, and the birds had snatched him, or the wind had thrown him to a far-off place. [Surah Al-Hajj. Aayah 31]

[حُنَفَآءَ لِلَّهِ  ]- Meaning: turn to Allaah [in complete submission], worship Allaah alone and turn away from other than that. [غَيۡرَ مُشۡرِكِينَ بِهِۦ‌ۚ  – not associating partners (in worship, etc.) with Him]; [وَمَن يُشۡرِكۡ بِٱللَّهِ – and whoever associates partners to Allaah], then [فَكَأَنَّمَا خَرَّ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ فَتَخۡطَفُهُ ٱلطَّيۡرُ أَوۡ تَهۡوِى بِهِ ٱلرِّيحُ فِى مَكَانٍ۬ سَحِيقٍ۬    – it is as if he had fallen from the sky, and the birds had snatched him, or the wind had thrown him to a far off place].

This is the situation of the polytheist, because Eemaan is like the sky – protected and raised high, so whoever abandons Eemaan he is like one who has fallen from the sky and is exposed to evil consequences and disasters and snatched by birds that will rip his limbs. Likewise, when the Mushrik abandons the protection of Eemaan, the devils snatch him from every direction and rip him apart, ruining both his religion and worldly life [i.e. because this worldly life is a place to perform righteous deeds for entry into paradise]. [Ref 11]

Allaah made it known in this Aayah that indeed the one who associates partners with Him and dies without repenting, then indeed he has fallen into destruction – neither has a way out of it nor can he be saved. He resembles someone who falls from the sky and lands on the earth and thus all his body is rip apart, then the birds snatch his limbs and the wind throws them to a far-off place due to intense [manner in which the] wind blew his ripped body parts. So, whoever is described as one in such a situation, then indeed neither can he hope for a way out nor can he desire safety; rather he is definitely destroyed because what normally happens is that the one who falls from the sky and lands on the earth, his body parts are ripped apart. And if the birds snatch his body parts and disperse with them, or the wind throws him to a far-away place, then this is an inevitable destruction and there is no way of avoiding it.

And that which is established in this noble Aayah – regarding the fact that the one who associates partners with Allaah is destroyed – has also been mentioned clearly in another place in the Qur’aan, such as the statement of Allaah:

[إِنَّهُ ۥ مَن يُشۡرِكۡ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدۡ حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلۡجَنَّةَ وَمَأۡوَٮٰهُ ٱلنَّارُ‌ۖ – Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, then Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and the Fire will be his abode]. [Surah Al-Maa’idah. Aayah 72]

Allaah said:

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَغۡفِرُ أَن يُشۡرَكَ بِهِ

Verily, Allah forgives not that partners should be set up with him in worship. [Surah An-Nisaa Aayah 48]

And indeed there are other Aayaat [showing] that this inescapable destruction is related to the one who dies upon shirk and did not repent.

As for the one who repents before death, then indeed Allaah forgives Him because Islaam [i.e. submission to Allaah with Tawheed] wipes away that which was before it [i.e. shirk]. There are a number of Aayaat that indicate to this, such as the statement of Allaah:

[قُل لِّلَّذِينَ ڪَفَرُوٓاْ إِن يَنتَهُواْ يُغۡفَرۡ لَهُم مَّا قَدۡ سَلَفَ – Say to those who have disbelieved, if they cease (from disbelief) their past will be forgiven]. [Surah Al-Anfaal. Aayah 38]

And those who invoke not any other ilah (god) along with Allah, nor kill such life as Allah has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse and whoever does this shall receive the punishment. The torment will be doubled to him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein in disgrace; Except those who repent and believe (in Islamic Monotheism), and do righteous deeds, for those, Allah will change their sins into good deeds..[Surah Al-Furqaan. Aayaat 68-70]

Allaah said: [وَإِنِّى لَغَفَّارٌ۬ لِّمَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحً۬ا – And verily, I am indeed Forgiving to him who repents, believes (in My Oneness, and associates none in worship with Me) and does righteous good deeds]. [Surah Taahaa. Aayah 82]

However, if one’s repentance is at the time of death [i.e. when the soul reaches the throat], it will not benefit him. [Ref 12]

[9] Excerpts From Tafseer Surah An-Nahl – Aayaat 33-34]: A Warning Against Mocking at The Messengers And Their Message]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Do they await but that the angels should come to them, or there should come the command of your Lord? Thus did those before them. And Allah wronged them not, but they used to wrong themselves. Then, the evil of that which they did overtook them, and that at which they used to mock surrounded them. [Surah An-Nahl. Aayaat 33-34]

Meaning: Do these people – to whom the signs have appeared but they have not believed and they have been reminded but have failed to remember and take heed- await until the angels take away their souls, or Allaah sends them a punishment that is justified and they are definitely deserving of it? [كَذَٲلِكَ فَعَلَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ‌ۚ  – Thus did those before them]- Meaning, they belied and disbelieved until punishment descended on them.

[وَمَا ظَلَمَهُمُ ٱللَّهُ وَلَـٰكِن ڪَانُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ يَظۡلِمُونَ   – And Allah wronged them not, but they used to wrong themselves]- Meaning, they were not wronged when punishment came, but they wronged themselves because they were created to worship Allaah alone, so that their final abode would be to receive Allaah’s Generosity, but they approached that with wrong doing, abandoned the purpose for which they were created and replaced it with permanent disgrace and wretchedness.

[فَأَصَابَهُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتُ مَا عَمِلُواْ وَحَاقَ بِهِم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَہۡزِءُون – Then, the evil of that which they did overtook them, and that at which they used to mock surrounded them]- Meaning, punishment came to them due to their deeds and its evil consequences, for indeed when their Messengers used to inform them about punishment, they used to mock at such punishment and that which they were informed, so the affair they used to mock at became justify against them.

[An Excerpt from Tafseer as-Sadi. Slightly paraphrased]

Our Youth Do Not Have a Special International Day; Rather We Strive to Assist Them On a Daily Basis to Fulfil The Purpose of Our Short Stay In This Worldly Life As Well As Benefit From The Lawful Things In This Worldly Life

Protect Yourselves And Families From The Fire

Shaikh Abdullah Bin Humaid [rahimahullaah] said: Allaah [Glorified and Exalted be He] said:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا قُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا وَقُودُهَا النَّاسُ وَالْحِجَارَةُ عَلَيْهَا مَلَائِكَةٌ غِلَاظٌ شِدَادٌ لَّا يَعْصُونَ اللَّهَ مَا أَمَرَهُمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ

O you who believe! Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who disobey not, (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do that which they are commanded. [Soorah Tahreem: Ayah: 6]

The meaning of  ”O you who believe”: Some of the pious predecessors said that if you hear the statement of Allaah ‘’O you who believe’‘, then listen attentively because it is either something good you are being commanded or something forbidden you are being prohibited from.

We Are Commanded to Teach Our Children The Shahaadatayn And Keep Them Away From Bidah

And regarding the statement ‘’Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire (Hell)”; This cannot be achieved except by fulfilling the commandments of Allaah and keeping away from what He has forbidden. This is what the statement ‘’Ward off from yourselves’’ means-by fulfilling the rights of Shahaadah ‘None has the right to be worshipped except Allaah’’; by worshipping Allaah [alone], acquainting yourself with Tawheed and free the Shahaadah from all that either negates it or that which negates the obligations it necessitates. [Likewise], free the Shahaadah from innovations in the religion which are a belittlement of it and the sins that diminishes its worth.  Likewise, [the statement Muhammad is the Messenger of Allaah’ has rights], and that is to fulfil what the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] commanded and keep away from everything he has forbidden, and that your worship of your Creator is carried out in accordance with what the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wsallam] legislated.

Children Are The Most Important Members of The Family

And also regarding the statement, ‘’Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire (Hell)’’: It is well known that children are the most important part of the family, therefore you must take up a shield of protection against the fire to protect your children and those under your care. And what is this protection? It is the advice and guidance you give them about that which will benefit them- teaching them what is beneficial and correct by way of which Eemaan is nurtured in the hearts and by way of which they will come to know the rights of their Creator and the rights of their parents.  This is the meaning of ‘’Ward off yourselves and your families a Fire [hell]’’- by advising, guiding, teaching and distancing them from everything that will hold them back [from goodness, uprightness etc.].

Children Must Be Distanced From Evil Companions; They Must Be Taught The Sound Islamic Creed First and Foremost, And Then The Beneficial Worldly Sciences

We said that children are the most important part of the family, so they must be taught what benefits them and are distanced from evil companions. Teaching them necessitates that which the Book and the Sunnah necessitates in their religious affairs, so that they are nurtured upon a sound, beneficial and good nurturing. And we do not say that it is prohibited to study the beneficial worldly sciences because the religion of Islaam does not prohibit it, such as the knowledge of medicine, economics, business and its likes. However, these affairs come after rectification of the creed and after being [acquainted with] the knowledge of Tawheed.  This is what is specified as an obligation.

And protecting the family [necessitates] that you distance your children from evil companions- those who have no goodness in them, such as the atheists or those Bedouins who are distanced from their religion. Therefore, you must warn your children about mixing with them and you must strive to [make sure that] they do not mix with them.  If your child mixes with them, their evil practices will  affect him. Even if your child is sensible, he will adopt some of their manners and deeds due to those evil companions. When a healthy she camel intermingles with a camel afflicted with scabies, it will be afflicted with scabies; or when someone intermingles a lot with a camel afflicted with scabies, he will become afflicted with scabies and his scabies will be transferred to the group and they all become afflicted.

Children Are to Be Nurtured to Preserve The Five Daily Prayers

Teach your children and continue [commanding them] to preserve the five daily prayers, for indeed the prayer is religion and it prevents one from committing obscene and evil deeds.   In most cases, if you see your child always frequenting the mosque, then this is a sign of goodness and uprightness, as the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: ‘’If you see a person always frequenting the masjid, then bear witness to his Imaan.’’

Admonition to The One Who Rejoices Because of Their Child’s Worldly Achievements Yet Such a Child Is Ignorant About The Rights of Allaah

You say, ‘’Indeed, my child graduated from such and such university and he has a master’s degree or what they call a PHD, and he studied in America or in London or in such university; and you think that with these [qualifications] he has become a mountain amongst the mountains of the earth’’; but  as long as he is unaware of the rights of his Lord, unaware of your rights and the affairs of his religion, then by Allaah he is a mirage and there is neither goodness in him nor in his knowledge [of the worldly sciences]. To be ignorant [of these worldly science] would be better for him because they led him to reject his religion, country and society. The situation of [this person who abandoned his religion] is that of evil and his manners have been corrupted.  Therefore, it is obligatory that you do not become lackadaisical concerning the affairs of your children as long as they are young.  Teach them what is beneficial and nurture them upon good.

Teachers And Parents Must Work Closely Together to Nurture  The Children of The Ummah Upon Sound Islaam, And We  Should Take Heed Lest We Neglect This Responsibility And Be From Those Who Betray The Trust That Has Been Entrusted Upon Them

It is obligated on the teachers to implant the true creed in the hearts of the young generation.  They should clarify -for them- the wisdom, beauty and underlying reasons behind the rulings of the Islamic law until their hearts grow in Eemaan and radiated with its light, so that they become upright and benefit their country, governments, Islamic Nation, its people and the Religion.  Therefore, the teacher who teachers your child should be an upright example for his pupils.  They take him as an example in fulfilling the commands of Allaah and in his manners, just as Ut’bah Bin Abee Sufyaan said to his children’s teacher: ‘’Indeed, I have come to you to teach my children; firstly: rectify yourself and adhere to your religion, because their eyes are fixed on you.  They will not see you beautifying or doing something, except that they will blindly follow you.’’ Then he said to the teacher, ‘’Teach them the best of the narrations’’; meaning: The best and most beneficial, and the most beneficial science.  Then he said: ‘’Keep them away from flirting with women and composing love poems about them; rather teach them the hadeeth and the Qur’aan, and [those] poetry and etiquettes of the Arabs that develops bravery in the souls, heroism, nobility and adherence to good customs.’’  This is what Ut’bah said to the teacher of his children; He said: ‘’They [my children] will follow your deeds just as they learn from your sciences, so therefore your actions must be good.’’

Therefore, if the teacher strives together with the households and the fathers, the child will be given a good and upright upbringing.  He will benefit his country and government, and Allaah will benefit Islaam and the Muslims through him.  However, if his teacher is one of the corrupters, the enemies of Allaah, His Messenger, the religion of Islaam and the Muslim lands, [the student] will follow his footsteps because a student treads upon the fundamental principles of the teacher.

Alas, how can we be pleased with sending our young children to a faculty in America or to such and such country, and he [the parent] says: ‘’My child has gone to study’’, [whilst he has gone] to study disbelief, hearsay, deviation, how to turn away from his family, his country and religion!! They will teach him this, just as Zimmer [The Catholic philosopher and theologian] advocated.

This Zimmer was a head of Christian Missionaries and he sent Christian missionaries to the various regions of the Arab-Islamic Countries.  He gathered them before dispersing them and said,  ‘’Inform me of what you will be doing in the Muslim countries?’’  One of them said: ‘’I will convert five to Christianity.’’  Another said: ‘’I will convert two to Christianity, and I will give them the blessings of Christianity and make them thankful.’’  He (Zimmer) said: ‘’You have not understood our desired objective! It is not possible to convert the Muslims to Christianity; it is not possible for the Muslims to reject their religion, except if you teach them. The most important thing is that you teach the Muslim children by sowing doubts in their souls about their religion and rejection in their souls against their countries.  And eventually when one of them sets up a centre in his country, he will give no importance to anything else except his desires.  And when he gathers wealth, he will do so according to his desires.  Therefore, he ends up having no religion and no connection with his Creator.  Therefore, cultivate the lands of Muhammad [i.e. the Muslim lands] upon this.’’

And he (Zimmer) said in another speech of his: ‘’Indeed, Islaam is like a tree, therefore cut off its branches.  Its branches are the children of the Muslims, therefore teach them so that they can aid you to cut off the tree of Islaam in their countries.  You will not be able to cut it off yourselves, rather teach their children to aid you in uprooting it in their countries.’’ This is their statement [O reader]! If this is their statement, then how can a person excuse himself for sending his young child to Germany, France, America, Italy and London, whilst he has not yet been nurtured upon the correct creed.  This is an error. [Your Muslim child] will come to you whilst turning away from his religion, turning away from his parents and looking down upon them.  He will consider them to be [people] who neither possesses understanding nor do they know, whilst in reality he is the one without understanding.  Therefore, it is incumbent upon a person to give serious concern to the children under his care because they are a trust.  And when you neglect them, then indeed you have betrayed the trust.  Allaah [The Most High] said: [يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تَخُونُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلرَّسُولَ وَتَخُونُوٓاْ أَمَـٰنَـٰتِكُمۡ وَأَنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ  – O you who believe! Betray not Allah and His Messenger, nor betray knowingly your Amanat [things entrusted to you and all the duties which Allah has ordained for you]. [Soorah Anfaal: Ayah: 27]

Therefore, your children are a trust and when you neglect them, then indeed you have betrayed them.  It is obligated on every one of us to fear Allaah with regards to the [affair] of his children and those under his care. The days go past and the end of a [person’s] lifespan draws closer, and a person does not know when his life span will suddenly come to [an end].  [A person] must strive to teach his children beneficial knowledge, nurtures them upon goodness and obedience to [Allaah and His Messenger].  “All of you are shepherds and each of you is responsible for his flock.  A man is the shepherd of his household and he is responsible for them.  A woman is a shepherdess in her husband’s house and she is responsible for her flock.” And Allaah knows best, and may the peace and blessings of Allaah be upon Muhammad [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam], His family and companions. [End of quote]

Some Plots of The Militant Secularists Through Education

Shaikh Abdul-Azeez Bin Baaz [rahimahullaah] said: They seek to conquer the intellects of the Muslim children and nurture their hearts upon their views, either by making them feel that their ways are superior in every affair-be it in affairs of creed and religion, or that which they speak with by way of languages, or what they consider to be civilized manners, customs etc.. They seek to nurture a great number of Muslims in the Muslim lands until they are intoxicated with their views and return them to their lands. Then they start praising and promoting them until they become the figureheads in their countries. So they spread their ideas through these people…etc They encourage the Muslims in the Muslim lands to learn their languages at the expense of the Arabic language, which is the language of the Qur’aan- the language by way of which the Muslims perform their acts of worship. They also establish many studies that are intended to cause nuisance and glorify what they call popular literature and national heritage…..etc They prepare a large number of people amongst their people to study Islam and the Arabic language and write books, and take up teaching positions in universities- orientalists….etc They also spread propaganda that Muslim women in the Muslim lands are oppressed in order to take them out of their homes and place them where they want. But Allaah (The Most High) said:

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُلْ لِأَزْوَاجِكَ وَبَنَاتِكَ وَنِسَاءِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يُدْنِينَ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنْ جَلابِيبِهِنَّ ذَلِكَ أَدْنَى أَنْ يُعْرَفْنَ فَلا يُؤْذَيْنَ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا

O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies. That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” They set up radio programmes designed to mislead gullible young Muslims who do not understand Islam and do not have sufficient knowledge, especially in Africa…. However if the Muslims exercise patience these plots will not harm them. Allaah (The Most High) said: [وَإِنْ تَصْبِرُوا وَتَتَّقُوا لا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ – But if you remain patient and become Al-Muttaqun (the pious – see V.2:2), not the least harm will their cunning do to you. Surely, Allah surrounds all that they do]. [Source: [ مجلة البحوث الإسلامية العدد 8 ص 286 293 أجراها مع سماحته قسم التحرير – مجموع فتاوى ومقالات متنوعة الجزء الثالث. ]

The Sound Religion Is What Will Rectify The Souls And Not The Modern Sciences- By Imaam As-Sadi [rahimahullaah]

Imaam Sadi [rahmahullaah] said:

Indeed, it is impossible to rectify the souls and acquire virtue solely through the worldly sciences. Experience and clearly witnessed circumstances are the greatest proofs regarding this affair, because despite its advancement and vastness it has been unable to nurture and rectify the souls [i.e. upon excellent traits, manners, dealings, characteristics, sound creed etc] which are the determinants of [sound] rectification and success. What the Religion of Islaam propagates is that which is entrusted with this rectification; it is what will guide the thoughts towards the truthful and authentic sources of knowledge, guide the actions of the people towards good and prevent them from evil. Islam is The Rectifier of the Creeds and Manners- the thing that cultivates the thoughts [upon righteousness], urges towards virtuousness and prevents from depravity.

The essence of that which the religion calls to – regarding belief in the Unseen, which includes belief in Allaah and that which He possesses of Names, Attributes and Actions of perfection; belief in Angels, belief in recompense for one’s good and bad deeds in this life and the next, which cannot be known except through the Messengers, is what acquaints a person with the fact that rectification – in reality – is not possible through other than sound belief and the religion of Islaam.

Therefore, even if the worldly sciences rectify [some] affairs based upon that which [some] people know in detail, it will still not be equal [in perfection, excellence etc] to the knowledge of the Messengers [in the least]. It will neither reach that which is reached through the knowledge of the Messengers nor can it influence the souls in the manner in which the knowledge of the Messengers has done; for indeed the souls do not voluntarily submit except through belief in Allaah, belief in His Angels, belief in His Books, belief in His Messengers and belief in the hereafter. And without this, voluntary submission is impossible, as is well known regarding human nature.

The Evil Consequences That Will Accompany Worldly Knowledge When Devoid of Sound Religion- By Imaam As-Sadi [rahimahullaah]

Imaam As-Sadi [rahimahullaah] said: Industrialization And Modern Inventions: Everyone has participated in it – the righteous, the wicked, the believer and the disbeliever. As for religion and [virtuous] manners, then indeed -in this era-, it has greatly declined. So, when this industrial advancement is devoid of Deen and Eemaan, it became a great harm from two angles:

Firstly: It beguiled many people, who – due of their ignorance – think that worldly advancement is proof to show that its people are more worthy of achieving every good than others. They are clearly misguided, for indeed a person might be from the most skillful in affairs related to the material world, whilst he is one of the most ignorant people in affairs related to the deen, virtuous manners and the [other] beneficial affairs in this life and the next.

Secondly: When these inventions are devoid of Deen, its mercy and wisdom, it becomes a great disaster for humankind due to the wars that resulted from them, killing, destruction and other affairs related to it. Its regulators [or overseers] and scholars are unable to laydown – for humankind -a stable, just and good life, rather they have not ceased moving from one misrable state to another. This is inevitable and the continuous state of affairs shows that [to be the case]. Therefore all good is found in the sound religion and all evil is found in rejecting and wilfully denying [Allaah, His Messengers, His Laws, Guidance, Commands, Prohibitions etc] [Al-Adilladul Qawaati 45-46]

Progress In The Worldly Affairs Is Sought After, But We Must Return to Our Deen- By Saudi King Abdul Azeez [rahimahullaah]

Saudi King Abdul Azeez [rahimahullaah] said: Indeed, the progress and advancement of the Muslims is among those affairs we [pursue]–we call to it by the will of Allaah. [However] there cannot be advancement for the Muslims without a return to their religion, adherence to their sound creed and holding onto the Rope of Allaah [i.e. the Qur’aan and the Sunnah]. The path towards this is clear and facilitated for the one who wants to follow it, and that is to single out Allaah in worship – to be free from shirk and bidah- and act on that which the religion has commanded us, for indeed there is no benefit in speech if not [accompanied] by action.

Transgressors Against Religion – Boko Haram And Al-Shabab

Just as the militant secularists seek to destroy the sound creed and morals of the Muslims, likewise Boko Haram, Al-Shabab and other extremist devils are misguided fanatics who destroy the religion with their false methodologies. They have no scholars amongst them and are unable to refute the claims and ideas of the corrupters with sound evidences, so they chose the path of the devil in violating the blood and honour of innocent people-Muslims and non-Muslims.

Warning against Boko Haram: The Mufti [Shaikh Abdul Azeez Aala Shaikh [hafidhahullaah] of Saudi Warns against Boko Haram:

Al-Allaamah Abdul Azeez Aala Shaikh (may Allaah preserve him) says: *Boka Haraam is a misguided group and are from the khawaarij. *Their actions are evil and harmful for Islam and the Muslims. *Their actions are destructive. *Abducting girls is from the actions of a misguided group. *If Boka Haraam are claiming a call to jihad, then it is nothing but ignorance and enmity against Islaam and the Muslims. *Boka Haraam are not upon correctness and guidance because Islaam opposes abduction/kidnapping, unlawful killing and transgression. *Marrying off kidnapped/abducted females is haraam and it is not permissible to give them in marriage. An Excerpt -[slightly paraphrased]. See link for further details:  http://www.sahab.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=143763 http://wp.me/p4cUPQ-az

Boko Haram and Al-Shabab Recruits Lack ‘lack Religious Schooling’

Finally: We make it very clear again that rebutting the erroneous views, wild speculations, misconceptions, lies and slanders of those who are misguided in their analysis regarding  Salafiyyah – misguided writers, demagogues, ideologues and ill-informed journalists – cannot justify – in any way – violence against them; rather rebuttal against Chika Oduah and her ilk is solely carried out to repel misconceptions. May Allaah guide them to what is correct Aameen.
