Those Who Claim to Love the Companions but Defend those who Speak ill of them – Shaykh Zaid Al-Madkhalee

Shaykh Zaid Al-Madkhali’s on the one who claims love for the companions – May Allah be pleased with them – but then at the same time defends those who speak badly of them.

Question: What is your advice to one who claims love for the companions – May Allah be pleased with them – and at the same time defends those who speak ill of them?

Is there an old Salafiyyah & a new Salafiyyah? Shaykh Ahmad An-Najmee -Rahimahullah

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Al-Allaamah Ash-Shaykh Ahmad An-Najmee – Rahimahullah – was asked:

Is there an old Salafiyyah and a new Salafiyyah or is it one Salafiyyah?

As-Salafiyyah is one Salafiyyah, and whomsoever claims that there is an old Salafiyyah and a new Salafiyyah has indeed lied. When we contemplate on the Aqeedah of the Salaf from the time of the companions until our time, we find it is one Aqeedah. They did not differ regarding it. And if they did differ it was in the subsidiary rulings which are not from the foundations (usool) and not from the Aqeedah, they differed in this (subsidiary rulings) whilst not one of them censured the other (due to the differing in subsidiary issues).

This is the path of the companions – May the pleasure of Allah the Most High be upon them.

As for the Aqeedah, the methodology with regards to it is one, from the time of the Sahaabah until now.

Reflecting upon those whom Allah has favoured – Shaykh Ibnul Uthaymeen

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Shaykh Al-Uthaymeen – rahimahullah- said:

The statement of Allah “The path of those whom you have favoured” is an evidence that it’s upon us to look into the lives of those whom Allah has favoured, as to who they were and what their condition was. This is so that we may be guided to their path. And an extension to that is an encouragement for us to know the biography of The Prophet – صلى الله عليه وسلم – due to him being the most favoured by Allah.
