The Good Effects of Worship In The Life of a Muslim – Happiness, Contentment and Provision

Al-Allaamah Abdul Muhsin Al-Abbaad [may Allaah preserve him] said: Al-Ibaadah [Worship]: It is a comprehensive term for everything that Allaah loves and is pleased with, including statements and deeds, apparent [i.e. physical actions of the limbs] and unapparent [beliefs concealed in the heart]. This is the best of what has been stated regarding the definition of worship. Worship has great importance because Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] created the Khalq [Mankind and Jinn], sent the Messengers and revealed the Books in order to command them to worship Him and forbid them from worshipping others besides Him. Allaah [Glorified Be He] said: [وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ – And I (Allah) created not the Jinns and humans except they should worship Me (Alone).” Meaning: Allaah created them in order to command them to worship Him (alone) and forbid them from disobeying Him.

Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] said:

[وَلَقَدۡ بَعَثۡنَا فِى ڪُلِّ أُمَّةٍ۬ رَّسُولاً أَنِ ٱعۡبُدُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱجۡتَنِبُواْ ٱلطَّـٰغُوتَ‌ۖ – And verily, We have sent among every Ummah (community, nation) a Messenger (proclaiming): “Worship Allah (Alone), and avoid (or keep away from) Taghut (all false deities, etc. i.e. do not worship Taghut besides Allah).

Allaah [Glorified be He and free is He from all imperfections] said: [وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِىٓ إِلَيۡهِ أَنَّهُ ۥ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۟ فَٱعۡبُدُونِ – And We did not send any Messenger before you (O Muhammad) but We inspired him (saying): La ilaha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I (Allah), so worship Me (Alone and none else)].

Two conditions must be fulfilled in order for an act of worship to be accepted; the first of the two conditions is that the act of worship must be done sincerely for Allaah, and secondly the act of worship must be in agreement with the Sunnah of the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam]. The act of worship has to be done sincerely for the sake of Allaah (alone) and none else is to be associated as a partner with Allaah in worship. [Likewise] the act of worship must be done in conformity with what the Messenger came with [i.e. the Qur’aan and the Sunnah].

This is what the Shahaadah (لا إله إلا الله محمدا رسول الله) necessitates; because (لا إله إلا الله) necessitates that acts of worship must be carried out sincerely for the sake of Allaah alone. And (محمدا رسول الله) necessitates that acts of worship must be carried out in conformity with what was revealed to the noble Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam]. Therefore, Allaah is not to be worshipped with bidah, newly invented matters in Religion and evil acts, for which Allaah [The Most High] has sent down no authority; rather acts of worship must be in conformity with the Sunnah of the noble Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam].

If any of these two conditions or both of them are not fulfilled, then indeed the act of worship will be rejected by Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic]. Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَقَدِمۡنَآ إِلَىٰ مَا عَمِلُواْ مِنۡ عَمَلٍ۬ فَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُ هَبَآءً۬ مَّنثُورً – And We shall turn to whatever deeds they disbelievers, polytheists] did, and We shall make such deeds as scattered floating particles of dust.

And the noble Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: [مَنْ أَحْدَثَ فِي أَمْرِنَا هَذَا مَا لَيْسَ مِنْهُ فَهُوَ رَدٌ- He who innovates something in this matter of ours [i.e., Islam] that is not of it will have it rejected [by Allah].”[Saheeh Al-Bukhaari. Number 2697] [Saheeh Muslim. Number 1718]

And in another wording of this hadeeth in Saheeh Muslim the Prophet said: [مَنْ عَمِلَ عَمَلًا لَيْسَ عَلَيْهِ أَمْرُنَا فَهُوَ رَد – He who does an act (of worship) which we have not commanded (i.e. not commanded by the Prophet), will have it rejected].

Some of The Fruits of Worship and Fear of Allaah

As for the (good) outcomes of the Ibaadaat (acts of worship), then from them are: Relaxation of the heart; Peace of mind; Enlargement of one’s provision; a state of well-being, repose and tranquility. Indeed there are many verses in the Qur’aan and a number of narrations in the Sunnah regarding these (good) outcomes, and that fear of Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) and righteous actions leads to happiness in this life and the next. Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) said: [وَلَوۡ أَنَّ أَهۡلَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰٓ ءَامَنُواْ وَٱتَّقَوۡاْ لَفَتَحۡنَا عَلَيۡہِم بَرَكَـٰتٍ۬ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ – And if the people of the towns had believed and had the Taqwa (piety), certainly, We should have opened for them blessings from the heaven and the earth].

Indeed, this noble ayah mentions both worship and its (good) outcomes in the life of a Muslim, and that whoever fears Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) and believes in Him, then indeed Allaah (The Most High) will reward him and give him provision in the life of this world. Allaah will open for him blessings from the heavens and the earth– by way of rain from the sky and vegetation and treasures from the earth.

Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) said about the people of the Scripture:
[وَلَوۡ أَنَّہُمۡ أَقَامُواْ ٱلتَّوۡرَٮٰةَ وَٱلۡإِنجِيلَ وَمَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيۡہِم مِّن رَّبِّہِمۡ لَأَڪَلُواْ مِن فَوۡقِهِمۡ وَمِن تَحۡتِ أَرۡجُلِهِم‌ۚ]

And if only they had acted according to the Taurat (Torah), the Injeel (Gospel), and what has (now) been sent down to them from their Lord (the Qur’an), they would surely have gotten provision from above them and from underneath their feet.” [5:66] Meaning: The provision Allaah would have bestowed upon them by way rain from the sky, and also from beneath their feet by way of that which Allaah causes to grow in the earth, such as plants and crops; and also the treasures which Allaah causes to come out from the earth.

So, that which has been mentioned in these two verses about the people of the towns and the people of the scripture is related to reward in this worldly life a worldly for (the one who) believes in Allaah and fears Him. And with regards to the reward in the afterlife for the believers and those who fear Allaah, then indeed Allaah has mentioned it in His statement: [وَلَوۡ أَنَّ أَهۡلَ ٱلۡڪِتَـٰبِ ءَامَنُواْ وَٱتَّقَوۡاْ لَڪَفَّرۡنَا عَنۡہُمۡ سَيِّـَٔاتِہِمۡ وَلَأَدۡخَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ جَنَّـٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ – And if only the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians) had believed (in Muhammad) and warded off evil (sin, ascribing partners to Allah) and had become Al-Muttaqun (pious), We would indeed have blotted out their sins and admitted them to Gardens of pleasure (in Paradise)].

Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) said: [يَـٰٓأَيُّہَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَقُولُواْ قَوۡلاً۬ سَدِيدً۬ا ] O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allah and fear Him, and speak (always) the truth]. [33:70] This (Ayah 33:70) indicates to an act of worship (i.e. fear of Allaah and being truthful in speech); then Allaah mentioned its (good) effects, saying: [يُصۡلِحۡ لَكُمۡ أَعۡمَـٰلَكُمۡ وَيَغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡ ذُنُوبَكُمۡۗ وَمَن يُطِعِ ٱللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ ۥ فَقَدۡ فَازَ فَوۡزًا عَظِيمًا]‘’He will direct you to do righteous good deeds and will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allah and His Messenger) he has indeed achieved a great achievement].

Indeed being directed towards righteous and correct actions and forgiven one’s sins in the afterlife are (good) outcomes of Ibaadah (worship). So this noble ayah mentions both the (good) outcomes of the Ibaadaat (acts of worship) in this worldly life and the afterlife-in this worldly life Allaah will direct the person towards righteous and good actions and enables him to reach good, truth and correctness in all his affairs; so that he follows the path of Allaah upon clear sightedness. And in the afterlife, Allaah will forgive him his sins and wipe away his evil deeds.

Also Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) said:
[وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجۡعَل لَّهُ ۥ مَخۡرَجً۬ا ]
[وَيَرۡزُقۡهُ مِنۡ حَيۡثُ لَا يَحۡتَسِبُ‌ۚ ]

And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make a way for him to get out (from every difficulty). And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine.

This noble ayah establishes the fact that fear of Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic)–and that is to worship Him (alone without partners); fulfil His commandments and keep away from what He has forbidden– will remove a person from critical and difficult situations. Also Allaah provides for the one who obeys and fears Him from sources he never could imagine.

Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) said: [وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يَجۡعَل لَّهُ ۥ مِنۡ أَمۡرِهِۦ يُسۡرً۬ا -And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will make his matter easy for him].

Indeed, from the (good) outcomes of fearing Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) is that Allaah will make a person’s affairs easy. Allaah will facilitate for him the paths towards good and opens for him paths that leads to happiness in this life and the afterlife.

Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) said: [وَمَن يَتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ يُكَفِّرۡ عَنۡهُ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِۦ وَيُعۡظِمۡ لَهُ ۥۤ أَجۡرًا -And whosoever fears Allah and keeps his duty to Him, He will remit his sins from him, and will enlarge his reward]. [65:5] This is related to the rewards in the hereafter that comes about as a result of one’s fear of Allaah (Glorified Be He)

Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) said:

If you obey and fear Allah, He will grant you Furqan a criterion [(to judge between right and wrong), or (Makhraj, i.e. making a way for you to get out from every difficulty)], and will expiate for you your sins, and forgive you, and Allah is the Owner of the Great Bounty].

This noble ayah shows the fact that the one who fears Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic), acts in obedience to Allaah and His Messenger, then indeed Allaah will grant him a criterion to distinguish between truth and falsehood, and he will follow the path of Allaah upon clear sightedness and guidance in this worldly life. And in the afterlife Allaah will reward him by wiping away his evil deeds and forgive him his sins.

Also, Allaah (The Most High) stated in the last part of the ayah that discusses the ettiquettes to be employed in dealing with loans and debts: [وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ‌ۖ وَيُعَلِّمُڪُمُ ٱللَّهُ‌ۗ-So be afraid of Allah; and Allah teaches you].

And Allaah stated in the story of Nooh (alayhis-salaam) and his people:

I (Nooh) said (to them): ‘Ask forgiveness from your Lord; Verily, He is Oft-Forgiving; He will send rain to you in abundance; And give you increase in wealth and children, and bestow on you gardens and bestow on you rivers.

The affairs mentioned in the above verses are (good) outcomes of Ibaadah (worship); because the act of worship mentioned here is [الْإِسْتِغْفَار –to seek forgiveness] and its (good) outcome is that Allaah will send down rain upon them in abundance; give them an increase in wealth and children, and bestow on them gardens and rivers.

Also, similar to this above ayah is what Allaah mentioned about Hud (alayhis-salaam) and his people (i.e. a command Allaah commanded Prophet Hud to convey to his people):

[وَيَـٰقَوۡمِ ٱسۡتَغۡفِرُواْ رَبَّكُمۡ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِ يُرۡسِلِ ٱلسَّمَآءَ عَلَيۡڪُم مِّدۡرَارً۬ا وَيَزِدۡڪُمۡ قُوَّةً إِلَىٰ قُوَّتِكُمۡ – And O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord and then repent to Him, He will send you (from the sky) abundant rain, and add strength to your strength].

Also, similar to this is what Allaah stated about His Prophet Muhammad (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) and the people (i.e. a command Allaah commanded Prophet Muhammad to convey to the people):

[وَأَنِ ٱسۡتَغۡفِرُواْ رَبَّكُمۡ ثُمَّ تُوبُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِ يُمَتِّعۡكُم مَّتَـٰعًا حَسَنًا إِلَىٰٓ أَجَلٍ۬ مُّسَمًّ۬ى وَيُؤۡتِ كُلَّ ذِى فَضۡلٍ۬ فَضۡلَهُ ۥ‌ۖ – Seek the forgiveness of your Lord, and turn to Him in repentance, that He may grant you good enjoyment, for a term appointed, and bestow His abounding Grace to every owner of grace (i.e. the one who helps and serves needy and deserving, physically and with his wealth, and even with good words)].

Allaah (The Most High) said:

[مَنۡ عَمِلَ صَـٰلِحً۬ا مِّن ذَڪَرٍ أَوۡ أُنثَىٰ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنٌ۬ فَلَنُحۡيِيَنَّهُ ۥ حَيَوٰةً۬ طَيِّبَةً۬‌ۖ وَلَنَجۡزِيَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡرَهُم بِأَحۡسَنِ مَا ڪَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ-Whoever works righteousness, whether male or female, while he (or she) is a true believer (of Islamic Monotheism) verily, to him We will give a good life (in this world with respect, contentment and lawful provision), and We shall pay them certainly a reward in proportion to the best of what they used to do (i.e. Paradise in the Hereafter)].

In this noble ayah is established the fact that Eemaan and righteous action leads to a good and happy–a life filled with fear of Allaah and obedience to Him, and obedience to Allaah’s Messenger, as well as abundant reward for a person in the afterlife.

As for the narrations found in the Sunnah regarding the good outcomes of the Ibaadaat (i.e. acts of worship) in the life of a Muslim, there is that great and precious advice of the noble Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] which he gave to Ibn Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him and his father) saying: [احْفَظْ اللَّهَ يَحْفَظْكَ احْفَظْ اللَّهَ تَجِدْهُ تُجَاهَكَ – Be mindful of Allah and He will protect you. Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him before you.’’ This hadeeth was reported by Imaam Tirmidhee (number 2516) and he graded it Hasan Saheeh. And in another wording of this hadeeth reported by Imaam Ahmad (Number 2803), the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said to Ibn Abbaas (radiyallaahu-anhumaa): [احفظ الله تجده أمامك ، تعرف إلى الله في الرخاء يعرفك في الشدة– Be Mindful of Allaah, and you will find Him in front of you. Acknowledge Allaah in times of ease and prosperity, and He will acknowledge you in times of hardship.’’ This is the 19th hadeeth amongst the 40 ahaadeeth of Imaam An-Nawawi [rahimahullaah]

(Imaam) Ibn Rajab (rahimahullaah) made some precious comments on this hadeeth in Jaami-ul Uloom Wal Hikam; he said: The protection of Allaah for His slave occurs in two ways: (a) Protection of the person’s body, wealth, children and family; and (b) protection of his religion, so that he is safeguarded from those doubts that lead to misguidance and from forbidden desires, and thus he finds himself in a state of uprightness and steadfastness in his religious and worldly affairs. This is Allaah’s Protection for the one who is mindful of Him—the one who remains within the limits imposed by Allaah-by fulfilling Allaah’s commandments and keeping away from what Allaah has forbidden. Allaah rewards this person due to him being mindful of Allaah and reward is given in accordance with one’s actions. Indeed the statement of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam): [يَحْفَظْكَ‘’He (Allaah) will protect you] is a reward from the good outcomes that are obtained as a result of righteous action, and reward is given in accordance with a person’s actions.

And as for the statement of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam): [احْفَظْ اللَّهَ تَجِدْهُ تُجَاهَكَ- Be mindful of Allah and you will find Him before you]; meaning: you will find Allaah in front of you- Allaah will guard and protect you, and He will protect you from every evil.

And as for the statement of the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam): [تعرف إلى الله في الرخاء يعرفك في الشدة- Acknowledge Allaah in times of ease and prosperity, and He will acknowledge you in times of hardship]; meaning: if you remain upon obedience to Allaah and His Messenger in times of ease and well-being, then indeed Allaah will reward you by protecting you during times of severe hardship and during critical situations.

And what will shed more light on this is the story of the three people who were walking, so rain began to fall and they had to enter a cave in a mountain. A big rock rolled over and blocked the mouth of the cave and they were unable to come out; so it seemed as if they were in a grave whilst being alive. Then they reminded one another and remembered what will remove them from that severe hardship, and that was to recall some righteous actions they performed for the Sake of Allaah in times of ease and so that they can utilise those righteous actions as a means of Tawassul (i.e. to invoke Allaah with the best deed they performed in the past). So one of them invoked Allaah whilst mentioning the kind treatment he showed to his parents; the second invoked Allaah whilst mentioning his abandoning fornication for the sake of Allaah even though he was able to do so; and the third invoked Allaah whilst mentioning the incident when he fulfilled the rights of an employee who departed before collecting his wages. All of them invoked Allaah whilst mentioning a righteous action they had performed in times of ease, so Allaah caused the rock to move away and they came out of the cave. (See footnote A) [Source: An Excerpt from Atharul Ibaadah Fee Hayaatil Muslim. pages 1-4]

Footnote A: Here is the text of the hadeeth about those three men: Narrated Ibn ‘Umar: The Prophet said, “While three persons were walking, rain began to fall and they had to enter a cave in a mountain. A big rock rolled over and blocked the mouth of the cave. They said to each other, ‘Invoke Allah with the best deed you have performed (so Allah might remove the rock)’. One of them said, ‘O Allah! My parents were old and I used to go out to graze (my animals). On my return I would milk (the animals) and take the milk in a vessel to my parents to drink. After they had drunk from it, I would give it to my children, family and wife. One day I was delayed and on my return I found my parents sleeping, and I disliked to wake them up. The children were crying at my feet (because of hunger). That state of affairs continued till it was dawn. O Allah! If You regard that I did it for Your sake, then remove this rock so that we may see the sky.’ So, the rock was moved a bit. The second said, ‘O Allah! You know that I was in love with a cousin of mine, like the deepest love a man may have for a woman, and she told me that I would not get my desire fulfilled unless I paid her one-hundred Dinars (gold pieces). So, I struggled for it till I gathered the desired amount, and when I sat in between her legs, she told me to be afraid of Allah, and asked me not to deflower her except rightfully (by marriage). So, I got up and left her. O Allah! If You regard that I did if for Your sake, kindly remove this rock.’ So, two-thirds of the rock was removed. Then the third man said, ‘O Allah! No doubt You know that once I employed a worker for one Faraq (three Sa’s) of millet, and when I wanted to pay him, he refused to take it, so I sowed it and from its yield I bought cows and a shepherd. After a time that man came and demanded his money. I said to him: Go to those cows and the shepherd and take them for they are for you. He asked me whether I was joking with him. I told him that I was not joking with him, and all that belonged to him. O Allah! If You regard that I did it sincerely for Your sake, then please remove the rock.’ So, the rock was removed completely from the mouth of the cave.” [See Saheeh Bukhaari. (Number: 2215)] and Saheeh Muslim (Number 2743)]

Sinning and Our Circumstances

Allaah [The Most High] said: [ظَهَرَ ٱلۡفَسَادُ فِى ٱلۡبَرِّ وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتۡ أَيۡدِى ٱلنَّاسِ لِيُذِيقَهُم بَعۡضَ ٱلَّذِى عَمِلُواْ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ – Evil (sins and disobedience of Allah, etc.) has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned.

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: This ayah was revealed regarding the state of affairs of the world- the relationship between it and the events that occur. You see how the occurrence of those evil actions and defects (of the people) affects the harvest, vegetation and the animals in every era, and the manner in which those evil (affairs) necessitates other evils. And whenever the people initiate oppression and wickedness, their Lord (The Blessed and Most High) brings about- from those evils and defects (of theirs)- deficiencies and harm in their nourishments, fruits, atmospheres, bodies, outward appearances and manners, as a justification for their deeds, acts of oppression and wickedness. The majority of the illnesses and the general evil affairs are remnants of the punishment afflicted upon the people of the previous nations; then there remained from that what remains, as a surprise punishment against those who remain upon the (evil) deeds of those previous nations. This is a just judgement and just decree. And indeed the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) has indicated to this in his statement concerning plagues, that it is a remnant of an affliction or punishment that was sent by Allaah to the Children of Israa’eel. [An Excerpt from ‘Badaa’i-ul At-Tafseer Al-Jaami Limaa Fassarahu Al-Imaam Ibnu Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah: 1/313. slightly paraphrased]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُغَيِّرُ مَا بِقَوْمٍ حَتَّىٰ يُغَيِّرُوا مَا بِأَنفُسِهِمْ – Verily! Allah will not change the good condition of a people as long as they do not change their state of goodness themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allah)].

Imaam Ibnul Jawzee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: Whoever loves that the state of affairs should become rectified then let him strive in rectifying (his) deeds. Allaah (The Mighty and Majestic) said: [وَأَن لَّوِ اسْتَقَامُوا عَلَى الطَّرِيقَةِ لَأَسْقَيْنَاهُم مَّاءً غَدَقًا – If they had believed in Allah, and went on the Right Way, We should surely have bestowed on them water (rain) in abundance]. [An Excerpt from ‘Saydul Khaatir’ page: 6]

The Danger of Sinning Whilst Receiving More Provision

Allaah [The Most High] said:
وَالَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
وَأُمْلِي لَهُمْ ۚ إِنَّ كَيْدِي مَتِينٌ

Those who reject Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), We shall gradually seize them with punishment in ways they perceive not. And I respite them; certainly My Plan is strong.

[سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم – We shall gradually seize them with punishment] – by granting them plentiful provision and respite until they think that they will neither be taken to task for their disobedience nor punished, so they increase in disbelief and transgression, and evil upon evil. And through this their punishment is increased and multiplied, so they harm themselves in ways they perceive not. This is why Allaah said: [إِنَّ كَيْدِي مَتِينٌ -certainly My Plan is strong]. [An Excerpt from Tafseer As-Sadi]

[ سَنَسْتَدْرِجُهُم مِّنْ حَيْثُ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ – We shall gradually seize them with punishment in ways they perceive not]: Imaam Sufyaan Ath-Thawree [rahimahullaah] said that this means, ”Whenever they commit [major] sins, Allaah bestows a blessing on them and make them forgetful of seeking forgiveness. [Al-Mukhallisaat 2352]

Scarcity, Hardship, High Cost of Living Can Be a Test

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And certainly, We shall test you with something of fear, hunger, loss of wealth, lives and fruits, but give glad tidings to As-Sabirin (the patient ones, etc.). Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: “Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return.” They are those on whom are the Salawat (i.e. blessings, etc.) (i.e. who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided-ones. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Verses 155-157]

Anas Bin Maalik [may Allaah be pleased with him] reported that the people said, “O Allaah’s Messenger! Prices have gone up, so fix prices for us”. So, Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Allah is the one Who fixes prices, Who withholds, gives lavishly and provides, and I hope that when I meet Allah, none of you will have any claim on me for an injustice regarding blood or property”. [Saheeh Sunan Abee Dawud. Number 3450]

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: High increases in prices and their decreases are among those events that none brings about except Allaah alone and nothing can occur from it except by Allaa’s Will, but He [Glory be He and free is He from all imperfections] has made some of the actions of His slaves the cause of some incidents, just as He made the deed of killing of a killer a cause of the death of the victim, and the increase in prices may be due to the injustice of the people, and the decrease may be due to the benevolence of some people. (1)

The Hoarders

Muammar Bin Abdillaah [may Allaah be pleased with him] who said that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “None hoards except a sinner”. [Saheeh Muslim. Number 1605]

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: They are the ones who buy commodities, such as food and the like that people need in times of hardship, and he stores it so that when the price is high he sells it for more. This is not permissible and it is an evil deed, and the one who does this is a sinner. If there is one in charge of authority in the country, It is obligated on him to implement the affairs related to the Sharee’ah, and it is obligated on the one in charge of authority to prevent him from doing so, and compel him to sell food at the same price – at the current price that is in the markets; and he cannot hoard it if it is during the time of hardship. As for the one who buys food or other than food that people need in a time of prosperity and abundance in the markets, and not to harm anyone, then when trade begins, he sells it with the people without delaying it until when a state of extreme need occurs, rather, he sells when the trading begins and there is benefit, there is no objection to this action of his. This is work of merchants in ancient and modern times. (2)

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: It is forbidden to monopolize (or hoard) what people are in need of. The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “”None hoards except a sinner”. This is a person who deliberately commits a sin. But monopolizing (or hoarding) is only in relation to what is not found with anyone else other than this monopolist (or hoarder). As for what him and someone else possess and he wants to keep the commodity until its season comes, then there is nothing wrong with this and this is not considered a monopoly (or hoarding). For instance, if a person buys rice and says: I will save it until the time of its season, whilst the people have rice and they sell as they want, then this is not considered a monopoly (or hoarding); but it is not found except with him, and he is saves it until the time of high prices comes, then indeed this is monopolizing (or hoarding). The scholars said that the one in charge of authority is obliged to force the monopolist to sell what he has monopolized (or hoarded) just as people sell at the time they need to sell because this is in the public interest. (3)

An Example of Methods Utilized to Inflate Prices In Our Era- Dumping

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Truly, We did offer Al-Amanah (the trust or moral responsibility or honesty and all the duties which Allah has ordained) to the heavens and the earth, and the mountains, but they declined to bear it and were afraid of it (i.e. afraid of Allah’s Torment). But the human being bore it. Verily, he was unjust (to himself) and ignorant (of its results). [Surah Al-Ahzaab. Verse 72]

Abu Dharr [may Allaah be pleased with him] reported that Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Allaah – The Almighty – said, ‘O My servants! I have forbidden injustice for Myself and I have forbidden it among you, so do not oppress one another’”. [Saheeh Muslim 2577]

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] said, “What is Dhulm -injustice or oppression? Dhulm [injustice (or oppression)] is of three types according to the people of knowledge (i.e. the scholars).

First: The greatest of them is shirk. And why is shirk referred as Dhulm [injustice]? That is because the basis of injustice is to place something in other than its rightful place. And the meaning of shirk is to direct acts of worship to other than its rightful place and this is the greatest injustice, because when they (i.e. the people of shirk) directed acts of worship to other than its rightful place and to those who are not deserving of it, they equated the created (beings) to the Creator and a weak one (i.e. a created being) to Al-Qawiy [The One Perfect in Strength (i.e. Allaah)], who is able to do everything. Therefore, is there any greater injustice after this?

The second type of Dhulm (oppression or injustice) is committed when a person oppresses himself by committing sins. A sinner oppresses himself because he exposes himself to punishment, even though it is obligated on him to save himself and place himself in an appropriate situation, and that is to obey Allaah etc

The third type of Dhulm (oppression or injustice) is committed when a person oppresses others (or commits injustice against them) by taking their wealth (unlawfully), backbiting them, spreading tales about them, stealing their wealth, violating their honour through backbiting, tale carrying, slander, or shedding their blood by way of unlawful murder, beating them, inflicting injuries, degrading them without right etc (4)

As for the Dhulm committed against one another in general, then indeed it as Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserve him] stated, that it is “By taking wealth (unlawfully), backbiting, spreading tales, stealing wealth, violating honour through backbiting, tale carrying, slander, or shedding blood by way of unlawful murder, beating, inflicting injuries, degrading without right etc”. (5)

Indeed, it is well known to many of us that disposing of food and wasting does not only take place in the households and during special occasions, rather this behaviour is also witnessed in the food industry. It is common knowledge that farmers – in some wealthy nations – are sometimes ordered to dump good produce. This is due to a number of reasons: firstly, sometimes capitalists do not have in place a system that would allow farmers to grow only what is enough, therefore farmers are left with no choice but to dump some of their produce. However, despite this overproduction, many people are still unable to afford good quality food. One of the ways this can be avoided is if governments help charities to repackage and redistribute excess food to those in need of it. Secondly, sometimes the greedy capitalists solely desire to make profit regardless of the consequences. For example, there has been incidents – in some wealthy nations – when farmers were ordered to depopulate their livestock to inflate prices, whilst many people were unable to put meat on their tables. This is nothing but an act of conspiring with farmers to create scarcity and thus unveils one of the negative outcomes of a capitalist economy.

The Dhulm of Western Colonialism and Neocolonialism And Its Effects On The Livelihoods of Other Nations

There is no doubt that this oppression has taken place during different eras in history. We read – in the history books – about the oppressive behaviour of the colonialists between the 15th and 18th centuries when they raided other lands, looted natural resources and transported millions of Africans to the US to work in the plantations. Listen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MfxUAtyYLJk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1wzrrY5N8g

Then after this barbaric enterprise was abolished, it was replaced with another barbaric enterprise – neocolonialism. So, in 1884, the colonialists met in Berlin and decided to share the colonies between themselves. Then came a time in which they decided to offer a so called independence to the colonies and amazing indeed was this offer! In one offer of independence, the colonialists said to the colonized, “We’ll grant you independence, but before doing so you must agree to the following: you must deposit 85% of your bank reserves with our ministry of finance – under our central bank. And with regards to all your discovered minerals or yet to be discovered, our companies have the ‘Right of First Refusal’. Your official language has to be our language, we’ll have a military presence in your country, your military can only be trained by our military, you can only buy military equipment from us, you cannot have any military alliance with your neighbors and in the event of war you must be on our side”. This was the independence offered! The money deposited in their ministry of finance was invested in their name and all the profits belonged to them. This is how some of them treated the colonies, yet they have the audacity to tell the whole world that the countries they’ve looted and oppressed for nearly over 400 years are poor- the very countries they continue to oppress economically. In addition to this, they constantly seek to demoralize the former colonies and give their economic situations different descriptions- sometimes referring to them as “The Third World”, the “Under-developed countries”, the “Developing Countries” etc. All these descriptions are utilized to demoralize the former colonies.

Recently, we read a statement of the head of Afghanistan’s Central Bank that country’s supply of physical U.S. dollars is “close to zero.” Afghanistan has some $9 billion in reserves, Ajmal Ahmady tweeted, but most of it is held outside the country, with some $7 billion held in U.S. Federal Reserve bonds, assets and gold. Ahmady said the country did not receive a planned cash shipment amid the Taliban offensive. “The next shipment never arrived,” he wrote. “Seems like our partners had good intelligence as to what was going to happen.” He said the lack of U.S. dollars will likely lead to a depreciation of the local currency, the afghani, hurting the country’s poor. This is the Dhulm by way of which the neocolonialists cripple the economies of other nations. Many of them talk about ethics, but how many are just in their mutual dealings?! Rather, self-interested individuals and groups do not give concern to anything other than finding ways and devising tactics to enslave the former colonies. The greedy Mutaffifoon – neocolonialists also oppress other nations is through Ribaa-Usury. Click this link to read about the severity and destructive consequences of Ribaa: https://www.abukhadeejah.com/the-grave-crime-of-usury-and-interest-riba-based-transactions-what-is-allowed-and-what-is-not/

Indeed, it is impossible for countries that are always in bondage to lenders to take control of their economies. A typical example is that as soon as a nation is heavily in debt, the lenders can easily gain the upper hand through Structural Adjustment Policies (SAPs) – secure repayment of the debt and economic restructuring, so in some cases the weaker nation is forced to reduce spending on essential social services, such as health, education and development, whilst repayment of the debt is given priority as well as the possibility of giving the lender an easy access to the country’s raw materials. This is well known and whoever researches will come across a lot that has been written on the subject matter. Indeed, there is no benefit in providing financial assistance that is going to permanently make a nation dependant on another nation due to usury. Debt is a heavy burden, let alone when accompanied with usury. Aa’isha [may Allaah be pleased with her] narrated that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] used to invoke Allaah in the salaah [before the Tasleem] saying: “O Allaah, I seek refuge with You from the punishment of the grave and from the trial and affliction of Maseeh Ad-Dajjaal and from trial and affliction of life and death. O Allaah, I seek refuge with You from sins and from being in debt.” So somebody said to him, ’‘Why do you so frequently seek refuge with Allaah from being in debt?’’ The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] replied, “A person in debt tells lies whenever he speaks, and breaks promises whenever he makes (them)]”. [Bukhaari, Hadeeth Number: 832]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] combined [in this supplication between seeking Allaah’s refuge] from sins and debt, because indeed sins necessitate loss in the afterlife and debt necessitates loss in the worldly life. [Al-Fawaa’id: page. 97]

Trade: Also with regards to buying and selling, Shaikh Abdul Waahid Abu Khadeejah [may Allaah preserve him] stated: “The way that countries buy and sell with each other does not always help people in poor countries. Producers of crops like wheat and rice will usually sell to the country that will pay them the most for it, so poor countries cannot compete and therefore cannot buy crops to feed their people. So these poor people have to grow their own crops to feed themselves. In many poor countries the rich farmers grow cash crops such as fruit and flowers that they sell to rich countries and their profit often does not help the poor people. So the Muslim is always encouraged to give aid to those less fortunate, so that no one in the land remains hungry, unclothed or unsheltered. Islam has no problem with people becoming wealthy so long as the poor not are neglected; they must be taken care of, helped, educated and empowered to look after themselves. Wealthier Muslims are obligated to give in charity (zakāt) every year, and each Ramadān (zakāt al-fitr)”. (6)

Pay attention to what Shaikh Abu Khadeejah [may Allaah preserve him] stated above about empowering and educating poor people as opposed to what the greedy colonialists stated in the past! Cecil Rhodes stated: “We must find new lands from which we can easily obtain raw materials and at the same time exploit the cheap slave labour that is available from the natives of the colonies. The colonies would also provide a dumping ground for the surplus goods of our factories.” Nye Bevin stated: “Africa is a valuable source of manpower and raw materials. The US is very barren of essential minerals. In Africa we have them all.” Larry Summers stated: “I think the economic logic behind dumping a load of toxic waste in the lowest wage country is impeccable and we should face up to that.” Indeed, these are a people who never deal justly with others; rather they take as much as they desire and give less or nothing in return. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Woe to Al-Mutaffifin [those who give less in measure and weight (decrease the rights of others)], those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure, and when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), on a Great Day, the Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the ‘Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? [Surah Al-Mutaffifeen]

[Woe] is a word of punishment and threat of divine vengeance to those who give less in measure. (7) Qaadhi Iyaad [may Allah have mercy upon him] said that the word ’‘Waylun’‘ (Woe) has some of the following meanings: It is used whilst referring to one who has fallen into destruction. It is used whilst referring to one who deserves destruction. It is used to refer to destruction itself. It is used to refer to the difficulty found in punishment. It is used to refer to grief. It is used to refer to a valley in the hell fire. (8)

Allah explained who the Mutaffifeen are in his statement: [ٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ٱكۡتَالُواْ عَلَى ٱلنَّاسِ يَسۡتَوۡفُونَ – Those who, when they have to receive by measure from people, demand full measure] -Meaning, they take from them in full what is established to be their due and demand in full without any loss.

[وَإِذَا كَالُوهُمۡ أَو وَّزَنُوهُمۡ يُخۡسِرُونَ – And when they have to give by measure or weight to people, give less than what is due] -Meaning, when they give the people what they are entitled to by way of measure or weight, they give them less- either by giving short measure or weight, or by not giving the full measure or weight, or by not filling the measuring or weighing equipment and what is similar that. This is tantamount to stealing the people’s wealth and not being fair to them. If this is the threat of divine vengeance against those who give short measure and short weight, then those who take people’s wealth by force or by stealing are more deserving of this threat than those who give short measure and short weight.

This noble Aayah shows that just as a person takes from the people what he is entitled to, it is also obligated on him to give them everything they are entitled to – whether related to wealth or mutual dealings; rather included in the generality of this Aayah are proofs and statements, because indeed what usually takes place between those engaged in argumentation and discussion is that each of them is eager to establish his proofs, therefore, it is obligated on a person also to make known the proofs possessed by the other person and examine the proofs of the other person just as he examines his own proofs. In relation to this affair, the justice of a person is known as opposed to whether he is afflicted with bigotry, his humility as opposed to being haughty, his common sense as opposed to foolish behaviour. We ask Allah bestow on us every good.

Then Allah issued a threat to those who give short measure, stated with amazement regarding their state of affairs and their persistence upon what they are doing. Allah said: [أَلَا يَظُنُّ أُوْلَـٰٓٮِٕكَ أَنَّہُم مَّبۡعُوثُونَ – Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), on a Great Day, the Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of all that exists – Meaning, what makes them dare to give short measure is because they do not believe in the Last Day, otherwise had they believed in it and known that they will stand before Allah to give account – whether related to something small or big, they would stopped and repent. (9)

Prophet Hud [peace be upon him] advised his nation about unjust trade practices

Allah [The Most High] said in Surah Hud Ayah 88 that Shu’aib [peace be upon him] said to his people:

[يَا قَوْمِ أَرَأَيْتُمْ إِن كُنتُ عَلَىٰ بَيِّنَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّي – O my people! Tell me, if I have a clear evidence from my Lord]- Meaning: I am upon certainty and tranquillity regarding the correctness of [the Message] I have brought. [وَرَزَقَنِي مِنْهُ رِزْقًا حَسَنًا – and He (Allah) has given me a good sustenance from Himself]- Meaning: Allah has given me various types of wealth.

[وَمَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُخَالِفَكُمْ إِلَىٰ مَا أَنْهَاكُمْ عَنْهُ – I wish not, in contradiction to you, to do that which I forbid you]- Meaning: I do not wish to forbid you from [the evil practice of giving lower in weight and Measure by way of cheating in business transactions], yet I myself do the same and eventually you will charge me for doing so; rather I will not forbid you from an affair except that I will be the first person to hasten to abandon it; [إِنْ أُرِيدُ إِلَّا الْإِصْلَاحَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ – I only desire reform so far as I am able, to the best of my power]- Meaning: I do not have any other intentions [goals or aims] other than to rectify your state of affairs and the things that are of benefit to you. And because this statement of Shu’aib contains something which may indicate that he is attributing piety to himself, he repels it with the statement [وَمَا تَوْفِيقِي إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ – And my guidance cannot come except from Allah]-Meaning: The ability I have to do good and to refrain from evil is a bestowal from Allah [The Most High] and it is neither due to my strength nor power; [عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَإِلَيْهِ أُنِيبُ – in Him I trust and unto Him I repent]- Meaning: I rely on Allah in all my affairs and suffice myself with Him. I turn to Allah in all the various acts of worship He has commanded me to draw close to Him by performing good deeds. By way of these two affairs- seeking aid and assistance from Allah, turning to Him in repentance, complete submission and obedience- a person’s state of affairs becomes upright, just as Allah [The Most High] said in another Aayah: [فَاعْبُدْهُ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَيْهِ– So worship Him (O Muhammad) and put your trust in Him]. (10)

Finally, regardless the hardship one goes through, he or she should always look at those who are in a harder situation. Abu Hurairah [may Allaah be pleased with him] narrated that the Messenger of Allaah [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Look at those who are below you and do not look at those above you, for it is more suitable lest you look down on Allaah’s blessings”. [Saheeh Muslim’ Hadeeth Number 2963]

Al-Allaamah Saaleh Al-Fawzaan [may Allaah preserbe him] says: A person should neither be covetous of this worldly life nor anxious due to what afflicts him, rather he should exercise patience and hope for [Allaah’s reward due to exercising patience] – whether he is poor, sick or other than that. The worldly life is a place of trial and test, so one should not become anxious due to calamities and trials. And what makes this affair easier for a person is the guidance given by the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] in this hadeeth [as follows]: “Look at those who are below you and do not look at those above you, for it is more suitable lest you look down on Allaah’s blessings”. A poor person should look at the one who is poorer and should not look at a wealthier [person], because if Allaah willed He would have placed you in the same situation as that poor person who has nothing. You have something – your daily nourishment; but that one poorer than you has nothing – not even his daily nourishment. You are in a better situation, so praise Allaah for this and do not look at the wealthier people because that will lead you to harbour anger against Allaah and being displeased with His divine Will, and then saying, “Why can I not be like such and such person; why am not like the wealthy people?’’ This is the meaning of looking down on the blessing you have. But if you look at the person below you, it will make you thankful because your situation is better than that of many people. Therefore, the one in good health should look at the sick person and then praise Allaah for granting him good health. The one who is sick should look at the one who is sicker than him and then praise Allaah for being less sick than the person who is sicker than him. This [hadeeth embodies] a great principle, therefore, ‘look to the one below you’ in wealth, health and in other affairs. However, this should not be the case in affairs related to acts of worship. In affairs related to acts of worship, you should not look at the one below you. You should not look at the lazy people and those who neglect their religious duties, rather you should look at the righteous and God fearing people so that you can join them in performing good deeds and be similar to them. Therefore, with regards to affairs related to the religion, you should not look at the one below you, rather you should look at the one above you in the religion, for why do not want to be like him; why do you not want to be like the righteous people; why do not want to emulate the God fearing scholars? If you are a student of knowledge, you should not be satisfied with the sciences of the religion you have acquired; rather you should seek to increase in knowledge as long as you are alive. Qur’anic Proofs Which Show that the Religion of Islam Embodies the Beneficial Contemporary Sciences and Professions – Part 3

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Human beings Urged to Ponder Upon Their Food and Drink

Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: Then, let him contemplate on his nourishment and the strong desire Allāh placed in him to eat and drink, and its outcomes; the specific organs placed in him which aids him to eat and drink and the great heat in him that digests both heavy and light foods; then distributed to all parts of the body and every limb and organ receives its share and portion of nourishment, without which a person would have been annihilated and destroyed. And Allāh created a passage in which settles the indigestible bits of the nourishment and then exited from the body so that it does not remain and thus harm or destroy it.

Human beings Urged to Ponder Upon The Intellect Allāh Has Bestowed On Them

Then, indeed let the human being look at that which Allāh placed in him of intellect, which distinguished him from all other created things! And by way of this intellect, Allāh guided him to paths of guidance in religious and worldly affairs, which can neither be counted nor can its details be enumerated. Allaah also guided him to bring raw materials under his control, minerals, inventions, skills and industries that have not ceased to be renewed all the time. Indeed, Allāh [The Most High] informed us that He has subjugated to us all that is in the heavens and the earth, so that we benefit from its signs, extract its benefits and treasures, and thank Him for facilitating us with the ability to bring things under our control and for this guidance and blessing, which we would not have been able to reach had it not been for His Grace and Generosity.

Allāh Subjugated Resources of The Earth to Humankind

Among Allaah’s signs in the universe and within themselves (i.e. humans and jinns) is that Allāh [The Most High] subjugated to the human being all that is in the heavens and the earth, and the minerals of the world and its elements. Allaah stated that He brought the human being out of his mother’s womb whilst he knew nothing; gave him hearing, sight, a heart, the tools of knowledge and taught him that which he did not know, so that he utilizes this means of subjugation and education – from knowledge of the different professions and those professions related to the remarkable inventions that are seen and well known- by way of which emerged industries, inventions expanded, different types of benefits occurred, vast regions became close to one another and the people of the east and the west established communication. Does this not clearly show Allāh’s Perfect Ability and His Truthfulness in that which He has stated regarding the unseen matters, which the liars used to deny and declare implausible due to comparing Allāh’s Perfect Ability- The One Who when He wishes for something to happen, He Says ‘Be’ and that thing comes into existence – to the weak ability of the human being in knowledge, ability and all his circumstances?! So, Allāh shows them some effects (outcomes) of His Perfect Ability through this human being (i.e. how he enables the human being to accomplish many amazing things), which shows the Perfect Ability of his Creator and teacher, His Oneness and the truthfulness of His Messengers. And Allāh has not ceased showing one thing after another from His signs in the universe and within themselves, so those who desire the truth benefit and follow it, and the perfect proofs and arguments are established against the obstinate opponents and the haughty ones, and thus their knowledge become harmful to them because they became proud by way of it, filled with beguilement and falsehood.

Allāh is The One Who created this human being, facilitated and provided him with every path by way of which he acquires various kinds of beneficial disciplines – different types of religious and worldly disciplines; then Allaah tied the physical sciences to the religion- commanded that the religion be established and that worldly things be used as an aid to establish both the religious and worldly needs. Allāh [The Most High] said:

[يا أيها الرسل كلوا من الطيبات واعملوا صالحا – O (you) Messengers! Eat of the Tayyibaat [all kinds of Halal (legal) foods which Allah has made legal (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables, fruits, etc.], and do righteous deeds].  [Surah Al-Muminoon. Aayah 51]

And He commanded the believers that which He commanded the Messengers, saying:
يا أيها الذين آمنوا كلوا من طيبات ما رزقناكم واشكروا لله إن كنتم إياه تعبدون

O you who believe (in the Oneness of Allah – Islamic Monotheism)! Eat of the lawful things that We have provided you with, and be grateful to Allah, if it is indeed He Whom you worship. [Surah Al-Baqarah 172]
And Allāh said:

Say (O Muhammad): “Who has forbidden the adoration with clothes given by Allah, which He has produced for his slaves, and At-Taiyibat [all kinds of Halal (lawful) things] of food?” Say: “They are, in the life of this world, for those who believe, (and) exclusively for them (believers) on the Day of Resurrection (the disbelievers will not share them).” [Surah Al-A’raaf. Aayah 32]

So, the believers are blessed with blessings in this world and the Hereafter. They utilize the good and lawful things, and the various types of beneficial things- which cannot be enumerated – as an aid to worship Allāh and obey Him. Their preoccupation with these beneficial things – which lead to rectification of the religion and the worldly affairs- became an act of worship and one of the means to drawing close to Allāh. As for those besides them, such as the materialists and the misguided heedless ones, they know only the outside appearance of the life of the world (i.e. the matters of their livelihood, like irrigating or sowing or reaping, etc.), and they are heedless of the Hereafter. They busy themselves with the worldly life at the expense of the religion, so they forget Allah [i.e. became disobedient to Allah], so He left them to go astray (i.e. due to the obstinacy in their hearts), so they enjoy themselves like cattle enjoy themselves and thus they lose both this world and the Hereafter, and that is indeed the evident loss.

They cut off the created means and causes from the one who brought them into existence, and cut off their relationship with Allāh when arrogance became established in their hearts, as Allāh said about them:

إن الذين يجادلون في آيات الله بغير سلطان أتاهم إن في صدورهم إلا كبر ما هم ببالغيه فاستعذ بالله إنه هو السميع البصير

Verily, those who dispute about the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, without any authority having come to them, there is nothing else in their breasts except pride [to accept you (Muhammad ) as a Messenger of Allah and to obey you]. They will never have it (i.e. Prophethood which Allah has bestowed upon you). So seek refuge in Allah (O Muhammad  from the arrogants). Verily, it is He Who is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer. [Surah Ghaafir. Aayah 56]

Therefore, Seek Allāh’s Refuge against this pride that comes between a human being and his true wellbeing. Allāh said: [فلما جاءتهم رسلهم بالبينات فرحوا بما عندهم من العلم وحاق بهم ما كانوا به يستهزئون – Then when their Messengers came to them with clear proofs, they were glad (and proud) with that which they had of the knowledge (of worldly things): And that at which they used to mock, surrounded them (i.e. the punishment)]. How to Approach The Contemporary Worldly Sciences

Shaikh Saaleh Aala Ash-Shaikh [may Allaah preserve him] said: The Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: Verily, the creation of each of you is brought together in his mother’s womb for forty days as a drop [of water, semen], then he is a clot for a similar period, then a morsel for a similar period…. [An-Nawawi’s Forty Hadeeth. Hadeeth 4]

It is well known that during that era, the Sahaabah did not know these stages (of development of the human being in the womb) through experimental knowledge, vision [i.e. by way X-rays or ultrasound that enables the human to see something in the womb) or other than that; rather it was simply (a statement of the Prophet) which they (believed and affirmed). They were scholars by way of the revelation sent down to the Prophet and not by way of experimentation (examination). [Sharh Al-Arba’een. Hadeeth 4]

Imaam Muhammad Bin Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: We do not say, “We do not give consideration to anything stated by the people in the subject matter regarding medicine, astronomy and the celestial bodies”, however, we do not accept everything they say. If what they say opposes the Book and the (authentic) Sunnah, then indeed we do not accept their statements. We take [i.e. believe and affirm without any doubt] that which is conveyed in the Book and the Sunnah], and we say, “An era will come in which the people will bear witness to the falsity of those statements of theirs – at present – that are in opposition to the Book and Sunnah and (bear witness) to the soundness of that which has been conveyed in the Book and the Sunnah. Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: Indeed, that which is stated by the astronomers about the celestial bodies, their sizes and the distance between them, and that which is said about the earth [i.e. by the geologists etc] is categorized into three affairs: [a] That which is backed by the sound knowledge-based proofs [i.e. the Sharee’ah], therefore it is accepted. [b] That which the knowledge-based proofs [i.e. the sharee’ah] declares to be false, therefore it is rejected. [c] That which there is no proof to either accept or reject it, therefore it is unproven until a person from the people of knowledge [i.e. upright scholars of Ahlus Sunnah] examines it [i.e. examines what it indicates based on the Book and Sunnah] to show whether it should be accepted or rejected. As for accepting it without [sound] investigation and observation, but merely accepting it by blindly following them [i.e. the astronomers, geologists etc], then this is impermissible because of the numerous mistakes that occur as a result of that, and speaking -without knowledge – about Allaah and that which He has created [i.e. the entire universe and all that is within it]. Therefore, we return to those honest investigators – those students of sound Aqeedah who are well acquainted with both the statements of the upright scholars and the contemporary worldly sciences, such as the likes of Dr. Shaikh Abu Iyaadh Amjad Rafiq [may Allaah preserve him, increase him in beneficial knowledge and righteous deeds. Qur’anic Proofs Which Show that the Religion of Islam Embodies the Beneficial Contemporary Sciences and Professions – Part 1

Qur’anic Proofs Which Show that the Religion of Islam Embodies the Beneficial Contemporary Sciences and Professions – A Refutation Against Those Who Negate This Affair Due to Arrogance and Those Who Negate Due to Ignorance

Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: All the praises and thanks be to Allāh; we praise Him, seek His help, seek His forgiveness and repent to Him. We seek refuge in Allāh against the evils of ourselves and the evils of our deeds. Whoever Allāh guides, none can misguide, and whoever Allaah leaves to go astray (due to a perversion in his or her heart), then none can guide such a person. I bear witness that no deity is worthy of worship besides Allāh alone, without partner. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.

This is a treatise consisting of definitive proofs showing that the Islamic religion and its disciplines, its activities (functions) and directives gathers all good, compassion, guidance, righteousness and rectification- deals with every situation; and that the sound beneficial contemporary worldly sciences and professions are embodied within the domain of the religion. Neither does its activities (functions) negate the sound beneficial contemporary worldly sciences and professions as the ignorant people and materialists claim, nor as the ignorant (or those who pretend to be ignorant) think that the beneficial contemporary professions have not brought anything new; rather what is beneficial of them for the religion and the worldly affairs, and for groups and individuals, enters into the domain of the religion. The religion has certainly indicated and guided the people to it, and to every useful affair until the Day of Judgement. And a clarification that if the contemporary professions are not pursued based on the goals of the religion and bounded to them, then its harm will be more than its benefit and its evil will be more than its good. However, this principle requires two affairs:

The first principle is to know that which the Qur’aan and the Sunnah indicates in general and in detail, and second is to know the affairs that are existent and the sound realities that are known and recognized by fair-minded people. So, when a person is acquainted with these two affairs, then he will know that the Islamic disciplines, its functions and specific subject matters – in origin – do not isolate anything that contain good and righteousness. Therefore, the one who is well-acquainted with this utilizes these two affairs as basis of proof for the other and knows that deficiency occurs as a result of being deprived of both or one of them. When he knows the ‘General Fundamental Principles’ that deal with the Subject Matter, he will refer the ‘Issues that link to the Main Subject Matter’ to those General Fundamental Principles; but if a speaker addresses something on those ‘Issues’ before being acquainted with the General Fundamental Principles, then gross error will occur and thus arises those doubts that are not confusing except to the ignorant ones or the willful stubborn opponents. The Youth Came and Was Passionate About “The Climate Change (Global Warming Debate)”, So We Tried to Deradicalize Him!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

They asked: Whose side do you take – the IPCC [The United Nations International Panel on Climate Change] or other scientists?

Response: Firstly, there are more important affairs in the life of an individual – in this temporary worldly life – than preoccupying oneself with this debate and disagreement.

Secondly, most of those engaged in this debate are not people who ponder upon the signs of Allaah. Therefore, it would have been better for them to ponder upon the signs of Allaah. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Not alike are the blind and the seeing. Nor are (alike) the darkness and the light. Nor are (alike) the shade and the sun’s heat. Nor are (alike) the living and the dead. Verily, Allah makes whom He will hear, but you cannot make hear those who are in graves. You (O Muhammad) are only a warner. Verily! We have sent you with the truth, a bearer of glad tidings, and a warner. And there never was a nation but a warner had passed among them. [Surah Al-Faatir. Aayaat 19-24]

Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: Allaah [The Exalted] informed us that the opposites are not the same based on what His Wisdom necessitates and that which is placed in the sound natural disposition of His slaves.

[وَمَا يَسْتَوِي الْأَعْمَىٰ وَالْبَصِيرُ – Not alike are the blind and the seeing]-Meaning, just as it established in their midst – without any doubt – that these mentioned things are not equal (or are not the same), then likewise they should know that the opposites (related to beliefs, acts of worship, deeds) are even more so not the same. Neither are the believer and the disbeliever the same nor are the guided one and the misguided one the same. Neither is the knowledgeable person the same as the ignorant one nor are the inhabitants of paradise and hell the same. Neither are those whose hearts are dead (due to disbelief) the same as those whose hearts are alive (due to Eemaan). There is a (huge) difference between these things of that which none knows besides Allaah. So, if one knows their different statuses, makes a distinction between the affairs and it becomes clear regarding the affair that is obligated on you to compete one another and attain, as opposed to its opposite, then the determined one would choose for himself that which is more worthy and has more right to be given precedence.

[ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُسْمِعُ مَن يَشَاءُ – Verily, Allah makes whom He will hear]- Meaning, the hearing (that leads to sound) understanding and acceptance of truth, because indeed Allaah is the guide and the one who bestows guidance.

[وَمَا أَنتَ بِمُسْمِعٍ مَّن فِي الْقُبُورِ- But you cannot make hear those who are in graves] – Meaning, those whose hearts are dead (due to disbelief, wicked deeds etc); or just as your supplication cannot benefit the inhabitants of the graves in anything (except by the will of Allaah), likewise it does not benefit the one who turns away – the stubborn one – in anything (except by the will of Allaah), but your job is to warn and propagate what you are sent for, whether it is accepted from you or not. This is why Allaah said:

إِنْ أَنتَ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌ
إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ بِالْحَقِّ

You [O Muhammad] are only a wamer. Verily! We have sent you with the truth). Meaning, We only sent you with the truth, because indeed Allaah sent you after a period in which there were no Messengers when people deviated from the right path and were deprived of knowledge, and there was a great need to send you. So, Allaah sent you as a mercy to the creation. Likewise, the upright religion and the straight path with which We sent you is truth and not false, and likewise this great Qur’aan with which We have sent you – which gathers the wise reminder – is the (only) Haqq [i.e. truth that addresses the real state of affairs and there is no way of rejecting it] and it is Sidq [i.e. the only truth that passes perfect and infallible judgement on the real state of affairs].

You (O Muhammad) are a warner- Meaning, you convey glad tidings of Allaah’s reward in this life and the next for the one who obeys you, and a warner to the one who disobeys you regarding Allaah’s punishment in this life and the next, and you are not a new thing amongst the Messengers, because [وَإِن مِّنْ أُمَّةٍ إِلَّا خَلَا فِيهَا نَذِيرٌ- And there never was a nation but a warner had passed among them]- Meaning, the previous nations and generations. Allaah’s proofs were established on them, [لِّيَهْلِكَ مَنْ هَلَكَ عَن بَيِّنَةٍ وَيَحْيَىٰ مَنْ حَيَّ عَن بَيِّنَةٍ- So that those who were to be destroyed (for their rejecting the Faith) might be destroyed after a clear evidence, and those who were to live (i.e. believers) might live after a clear evidence. (Surah Al-Anfaal. Aayah 42)] (1)

Allaah (The Most High) said:

Say (O Muhammad ): “Tell me! If Allah made night continuous for you till the Day of Resurrection, who is an ilah (a god) besides Allah who could bring you light? Will you not then hear?” Say (O Muhammad ): “Tell me! If Allah made day continuous for you till the Day of Resurrection, who is an ilah (a god) besides Allah who could bring you night wherein you rest? Will you not then see?” It is out of His Mercy that He has put for you night and day, that you may rest therein (i.e. during the night) and that you may seek of His Bounty (i.e. during the day), and in order that you may be grateful. [Surah Al-Qasas. Aayaat 71-73]

The (night and day) are a bestowal from Allaah to His servants and this should make them thankful, worship Allaah alone and fulfil His Rights. Allaah- out of His Mercy- created the day for them in order that they may seek after His Bounties- seeking after their provisions and livelihoods during daylight. And Allaah created the night for them (as a means of) rest and repose- (allowing) their bodies and souls to take a rest due to tiredness after work during the day. This is a bounty of Allaah (bestowed) on His servants and Mercy (from Him). Is there anyone who is able to do this (besides Allaah)?

Regarding the night [i.e. after Allaah mentioned that He was the one who appointed the night for them], He said: [أَفَلَا تَسْمَعُونَ -Then will you not then hear], and regarding the day [i.e. after Allaah mentioned that He was the one who appointed the day for them], He said: [أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ – Then will you not then see?]. This is because the (faculty) of hearing is sharper than the (faculty) of sight during night time, and the (faculty) of sight is sharper than the (faculty) of hearing during day time.

In these verses (i.e. Al-Qasas 71, 72 & 73) the servant is exhorted to ponder upon the blessings Allaah has bestowed on them. He should contemplate regarding what the situation would have been if such blessings were absent, because if a servant were to contemplate on the situation due to the presence of such blessings compared to what the situation would have been if such blessings were absent, he will realise the (great) station of this favour, contrary to the one who merely goes along with the normal state of affairs and considers (these favours) as something that will neither cease nor come to an end. So his heart is hindered from praising Allaah for these blessings and from realising that he is in need of Allaah every time. This neither prompts his thoughts towards thanksgiving nor remembrance. (2)

Allaah [The Most High] said:
ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَجَعَلَ ٱلظُّلُمَـٰتِ وَٱلنُّورَ‌ۖ ثُمَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّہِمۡ يَعۡدِلُونَ

All praises and thanks be to Allah, Who (Alone) created the heavens and the earth, and originated the darkness and the light, yet those who disbelieve hold others as equal with their Lord. [Surah Al-An’aam. Verse 1]

Allaah (The Most High) said:

By the forenoon (after sunrise); and by the night when it is still (or darkens); Your Lord (O Muhammad) has neither forsaken you nor hated you. And indeed the Hereafter is better for you than the present (life of this world). And verily, your Lord will give you (all i.e. good) so that you shall be well-pleased. Did He not find you (O Muhammad) an orphan and gave you a refuge? And He found you unaware (of the Qur’an, its legal laws, and Prophet hood, etc.) and guided you? And He found you poor, and made you rich (self-sufficient with self-contentment, etc.)? Therefore, treat not the orphan with oppression, and repulse not the beggar; and proclaim the Grace of your Lord (i.e. the Prophet -hood and all other Graces). [Surah Ad-Duhaa]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] Allaah (Glorified Be He and Free is He From all Imperfections] swore by two of His great creations – the Night and the Day- both of which are an indication of His Perfect and Absolute Lordship, Perfect Wisdom and Perfect Mercy. Allaah is the one (alone) Who dispels the night by way of the Daylight and likewise He is the one Who dispels the darkness of ignorance and Shirk by way of the revelation and Prophet-hood.

Likewise due to His Mercy, it necessitates that His slaves are not left in the darkness of night permanently, rather He guides them towards the beneficial affairs of the worldly life and their livelihoods by way of the Daylight, therefore it does not befit His (Majesty) that He leaves them in the darkness of ignorance and deviation; rather He guides them by way of the light of revelation and Prophet-hood in order that they may attain well-being in this life and the next. (3)

Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَهُوَ الَّذِي جَعَلَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ خِلْفَةً لِّمَنْ أَرَادَ أَن يَذَّكَّرَ أَوْ أَرَادَ شُكُورًا – And He it is Who has put the night and the day in succession, for such who desires to remember or desires to show his gratitude].

The night and the day differ- this one is white and that one is black. So one takes an admonition [from them], contemplates on the difference between them and thanks Allaah for them. (4) Whoever misses the remembrance of Allaah in the morning, then he (or she) can do so in the evening and vice versa. (5)

Al-Hasan Al-Basri [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “The night and the day have not ceased to lessen the life spans and bringing close the appointed times of death”. (6)

Awn Bin Abdillaah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Indeed, the most beneficial days the believer has in the worldly life, is the one about which he thought he would not reach its end”. (7)

Some Verses of The Qur’aan Regarding Water: https://salaficentre.com/2021/08/01/reflection-on-some-verses-of-the-quraan-regarding-water/

Therefore, we should not be diverted from what is more important and preoccupy ourselves with this affair of global warming; rather we preoccupy ourselves with beneficial knowledge. Abu Moosaa [may Allaah be pleased with him] said that Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “The example of guidance and knowledge with which Allaah has sent me is like abundant rain falling on the earth, some of which was fertile soil that absorbed the water and brought forth vegetation and grass in abundance. Another portion of it was hard and held the water and Allaah benefited the people with it and they utilised it for drinking, making their animals drink from it and for irrigation of the land for cultivation. A portion of it was barren which could neither hold the water nor bring forth vegetation [so that land gave no benefits]. The first is the example of the person who comprehends Allaah’s religion and benefit [from the knowledge] which Allaah has revealed through me, learns and then teaches others. The last example is that of a person who does not care for it and does not take Allaah’s guidance revealed through me. [He is like that barren land]”. (8)

Imaam Muhammad Ibnu Saalih Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “In this similitude, the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, ‘The example of guidance and knowledge with which Allaah has sent me with, is like abundant rain falling on the earth’. The earth [upon which the rain fell] is of three types: The First Type of Earth: It is the earth that absorbed the water and produced abundant grass and vegetation, so the people were benefited through that. The Second Type of Earth is a Plain: It retained the water and the people benefited from it. They utilised it for drinking and as a source of irrigation [for their crops]. The Third Type of Earth: It absorbed the water but does not produce any benefit. This is the relationship between the people and the knowledge and guidance with which the Prophet was sent with.

The First Category of People: Amongst them is one who has understanding of Allaah’s Religion. He learns and teaches- benefits the people and himself. This is similar to the earth that produces grass and vegetation, so that the people and animals eat from it.

The Second Category of People: They are a people who have been entrusted with the guidance, but they do not possess Fiqh [like the first category of people]. They transmit knowledge and Hadeeth amongst themselves, but they do not possess Fiqh [like the first group]. The similitude of these people is that of the earth that retained the water and the people were provided with water. They used it for drinking, their animals drank from it and they used it as a source of irrigation; but the earth does not produce anything.

The Third Category: The one who is not benefited by the knowledge and guidance given to the Prophet. He turns away and does not incline towards it. He is neither benefited by that which the Prophet was sent with nor does he benefit others. His similitude is that of the earth that absorbed the water, but does not produce anything”. (9)

Finally, as for the debate between scientists regarding global warming, then indeed anyone who reads and researches will come across differing views- some stating that their views are based on facts and those who oppose them state that those views are based on theories. Some of those who hold the view that global warming is merely based on theories sometimes state that their opponents utilize nothing but propaganda as a manipulation tool to arouse emotions, and that is why anyone who opposes them is labelled a skeptic, denier, conspiracy theorist etc. The debate revolves around some of the following issues:

[1] Arguments- for and against – as to whether the IPCC discreetly dictate policies and utilize propaganda techniques that directs researchers and authors to maintain their desired narrative (i.e. that global warming is a fact)?

[2] Arguments -for and against- regarding whether the concept of global warming can be ascertained only through one view (i.e. that carbon dioxide from manmade activities is the reason behind the rise of earth’s temperature through something referred to as the greenhouse gas effect).

[3] Arguments – for and against – regarding melting ice caps that will lead to the flooding of coastal cities, famine and death.

[4] Arguments – for and against – regarding the normal temperature of the earth during different eras, and what influences these changes.

[5] Arguments – for and against – regarding whether the earth is entering a second “warming cycle” due to CO2 from burning of fossil fuels.

[6] Arguments – for and against – regarding “Greenhouse Effect”

[7] Arguments – for and against – regarding CO2 concentration as to whether it leads to increased acidification of the ocean

[8] Arguments – for and against – as to whether “Sea Level Changes” are influenced by CO2 and thus has an effect on global warming, and that the sea level has risen approximately 200 mm since 1880.

[9] Arguments – for and against – regarding whether the earth is in a stable period in relation to sea levels, and whether there is factual evidence to show that it would change drastically in future.

[10] Arguments -for and against – whether the ice melt is solely due to air and surface ocean temperature changes.

[11] Arguments – for and against – regarding whether the IPCC confined its research within the theory that climate change was the result of man’s activities and specifically carbon dioxide, and whether this approach is truly a scientific one or one influenced by government policies due to economic reasons.

Therefore, due to the speculation involved in this debate, we advised the passionate youth to approach the affair based on a principle mentioned by Imaam Abdul Azeez bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy upon him] who stated, “Indeed, that which is stated by the astronomers about the celestial bodies, their sizes and the distance between them, and that which is said about the earth (i.e. by the geologists etc) is categorized into three affairs: (a) That which is backed by the sound knowledge-based proofs [i.e. the Sharee’ah], therefore it is accepted. (b) That which the knowledge-based proofs [i.e. the sharee’ah] declares to be false, therefore it is rejected. (c) That which there is no proof to either accept or reject it, therefore it is unproven until a person from the people of knowledge [i.e. upright, honest and knowledgeable researchers of Ahlus Sunnah) examines it [i.e. examines what it indicates based on the Book and Sunnah, or whether it is false, propaganda, speculation etc] to show whether it should be accepted or rejected. As for accepting it without (sound) investigation and observation, but merely accepting it by blindly following them [i.e. the astronomers, geologists etc], then this is impermissible because of the numerous mistakes that occur as a result of that, and speaking -without knowledge – about Allaah and that which He has created [i.e. the entire universe and all that is within it]”. (10)

Shaikh Abdul Waahid Abu Khadeejah [may Allaah preserve him] stated, “One of the biggest causes of prosperity and poverty is climate – and it is Allah who creates and controls the climate: the wind, the rain, the heat and the seasons. It is Allah who sends down the rain, and it is He who withholds it from whomever He wills”. (11)

Therefore, we do not enter into this debate; rather we return to teachers of sound Aqeedah – [those who are reliable, honest, those who are known to us as independent researchers in the worldly sciences, neither harbour ulterior motives nor do they speak about Allaah without knowledge], such as the likes of Shaikh Abu Iyaadh Amjad Rafiq [may Allaah preserve him].

As for how hot or cold the earth it, then indeed those engaged in this debate should be reminded that the punishment in hell is of severe heat that cannot be compared to the heat in this temporary worldly life; therefore one asks for guidance and hastens to fulfil the purpose behind our existence in this worldly life. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

O you who believe! Ward off from yourselves and your families a Fire (Hell) whose fuel is men and stones, over which are (appointed) angels stern (and) severe, who disobey not, (from executing) the Commands they receive from Allah, but do that which they are commanded. [Surah At-Tahreem. Verse 6]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Certainly! You (disbelievers) and that which you are worshipping now besides Allah, are (but) fuel for Hell! (Surely), you will enter it. Had these (idols, etc.) been aliha (gods), they would not have entered there (Hell), and all of them will abide therein. Therein breathing out with deep sighs and roaring will be their portion, and therein they will hear not. [Surah Al-Anbiya. Verses 98-100]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Those who disbelieve will be addressed (at the time of entering into the Fire): “Allah’s aversion was greater towards you (in the worldly life when you used to reject the Faith) than your aversion towards one another (now in the Fire of Hell, as you are now enemies to one another), when you were called to the Faith but you used to refuse.” They will say: “Our Lord! You have made us to die twice (i.e. we were dead in the loins of our fathers and dead after our deaths in this world), and You have given us life twice (i.e. life when we were born and life when we are Resurrected)! Now we confess our sins, then is there any way to get out (of the Fire)?” (It will be said): “This is because, when Allah Alone was invoked (in worship, etc.) you disbelieved, but when partners were joined to Him, you believed! So the judgement is only with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great!” [Surah Ghaafir. Verses 10-12]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Verily, those who disbelieve, if they had all that is in the earth, and as much again therewith to ransom themselves thereby from the torment on the Day of Resurrection, it would never be accepted of them, and theirs would be a painful torment. They will long to get out of the Fire, but never will they get out therefrom, and theirs will be a lasting torment. [Surah Al-Maa’idah. Verses 36-37]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And those who disbelieved will be driven to Hell in groups, till, when they reach it, the gates thereof will be opened (suddenly like a prison at the arrival of the prisoners). And its keepers will say, “Did not the Messengers come to you from yourselves, reciting to you the Verses of your Lord, and warning you of the Meeting of this Day of yours?” They will say: “Yes, but the Word of torment has been justified against the disbelievers!” It will be said (to them): “Enter you the gates of Hell, to abide therein. And (indeed) what an evil abode of the arrogant!” [Surah Az-Zumar. Verses 71-72]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

These two opponents (believers and disbelievers) dispute with each other about their Lord; then as for those who disbelieve, garments of fire will be cut out for them, boiling water will be poured down over their heads. With it will melt or vanish away what is within their bellies, as well as (their) skins. And for them are hooked rods of iron (to punish them). Every time they seek to get away therefrom, from anguish, they will be driven back therein, and (it will be) said to them: “Taste the torment of burning!” [Surah Al-Hajj. Verses 19-22]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And say: “The truth is from your Lord.” Then whosoever wills, let him believe, and whosoever wills, let him disbelieve. Verily, We have prepared for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.), a Fire whose walls will be surrounding them (disbelievers in the Oneness of Allah). And if they ask for help (relief, water, etc.) they will be granted water like boiling oil, that will scald their faces. Terrible the drink, and an evil Murtafaqa (dwelling, resting place, etc.)! [Surah Al-Kahf. Verse 29]

Therefore, what has to be given paramount importance – at all times – is the purpose behind our existence in this world, and there is room for repentance before death – before the soul reaches the throat. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Say: “O (My slaves) who have transgressed against themselves (by committing evil deeds and sins)! Despair not of the Mercy of Allah, verily Allah forgives all sins (of one who repents). Truly, He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. And turn in repentance and in obedience with true Faith (Islamic Monotheism) to your Lord and submit to Him, (in Islam), before the torment comes upon you, then you will not be helped. And follow the best of that which is sent down to you from your Lord (i.e. this Qur’an, do what it orders you to do and keep away from what it forbids), before the torment comes on you suddenly while you perceive not!” Lest a person should say: “Alas, my grief that I was undutiful to Allah (i.e. I have not done what Allah has ordered me to do), and I was indeed among those who mocked [at the truth! i.e. La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah), the Qur’an, and Muhammad and at the faithful believers, etc.]” Or (lest) he should say: “If only Allah had guided me, I should indeed have been among the pious”. Or (lest) he should say when he sees the torment: “If only I had another chance (to return to the world) then I should indeed be among the good-doers”. Yes! Verily, there came to you My Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and you denied them, and were proud and were among the disbelievers. And on the Day of Resurrection you will see those who lied against Allah (i.e. attributed to Him sons, partners, etc.) their faces will be black. Is there not in Hell an abode for the arrogant ones? And Allah will deliver those who are the Muttaqun (pious) to their places of success (Paradise). Evil shall touch them not, nor shall they grieve. [Surah Az-Zumar. Verses 53-61]

Ibn Umar [may Allaah be pleased with him and his father] said that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Verily, Allah accepts the repentance of his servants, as long as the soul has not reached the throat”. [Sunan At-Tirmidhee 3537]

Abu Hurairah [may Allaah be pleased with him] said that Alalah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “When three things appear, faith will not benefit one who has not previously believed or has derived no good from his faith: the rising of the sun in its place of setting, the Dajjal, and the beast of the earth”. [Saheeh Muslim. Number 158]

We ask Allaah to preoccupy us and the youth with what is of greater importance in our lives Aameen.

A Dangerous, Pathetic and Useless Debate of The Foolish Regarding Civilizations of Kufr!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

A Dangerous, Pathetic and Useless Debate of Those Who Seek to Exalt Race By Attaching Themselves to The Figureheads of Kufr!

Some Statements of the fools: “Our civilization was great indeed! The Pharaohs were dark-skinned people and we must celebrate their achievements, because the Europeans want to portray them as light-skinned people”. “That was a great civilization, but there’s no proof that they were dark-skinned”.

Say to the fools who engage in the above pathetic and useless debate that Allaah [The Most High] said:

[قَدْ خَلَتْ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ سُنَنٌ فَسِيرُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ فَانْظُرُوا كَيْفَ كَانَ عَاقِبَةُ الْمُكَذِّبِينَ – Many similar mishaps [troubles, problems] of life were faced by nations that have passed away before you, so travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who disbelieved]. [Surah Aal Imraan. Verse 137]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: Indeed, there were nations like yourselves before you, so look to their evil end. You have to know that the reason behind their evil end was due to their disbelief in the revelations of Allaah and disbelief in Allaah’s Messengers. They were the forefathers and you are the descendants. The main affair that connects you to each other is your disbelief and the ruling on that disbelief is destruction. [Source: I’laam Al-Muwaqqi-een: 1/181]

Imaam Muhammad Bin Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: If it is said, “What is the benefit in narrating to us the stories of the destroyed nations despite the fact that this Ummah will not be completely destroyed in a manner similar to the destruction of the previous nations before it?”

The Answer: Indeed, this has two benefits: The first benefit is a clarification of Allaah’s blessings upon us that the occurrence of a complete destruction is removed from us, and that were it not for Allaah’s Benevolence we would have been deserving of it. Second, the likeness of the punishment they received may occur in the hereafter for the one who did what they did, if punishment was not received in the worldly life. And this may be understood from the statement of Allaah: “Such is the Seizure of your Lord when He seizes the population of towns while they are doing wrong. Verily, His Seizure is painful and severe. Indeed in that (there) is a sure lesson for those who fear the torment of the Hereafter.” So what is apparent from this Aayah is that what is similar to the punishment they received will happen in the Hereafter, and Allaah knows best. [Source: Al-Muntaqaa Min Fawaa-idil Fawaa-id 123-124]

The Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said: Indeed, Allaah [The Most High] has removed from you the pride of the pre-Islamic period and its boasting about ancestors. One is only a pious believer or a wretched sinner. You are sons of Adam and Adam (was created from) dust. Let the people abandon boasting about their ancestors, for they are merely fuel in Jahannam; or they will become more insignificant in (the sight of) Allah than the beetle which rolls dung with its nose. [Reported by Imaam Abu Dawud (rahimahullaah)’ Hadith Number 5116. Declared ‘Hasan’ by Shaikh Albaani (rahimahullaah) in his checking of Sunan Abu Dawud. Pages -766-767.Publisher: Maktabah Al-Ma’aarif’ 1st edition]

Finally, we reflect upon the following verses.

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّبِعُواْ مَآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ قَالُواْ بَلۡ نَتَّبِعُ مَا وَجَدۡنَا عَلَيۡهِ ءَابَآءَنَآ‌ۚ أَوَلَوۡ ڪَانَ ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنُ يَدۡعُوهُمۡ إِلَىٰ عَذَابِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ

And when it is said to them: “Follow that which Allah has sent down”, they say: “Nay, we shall follow that which we found our fathers (following).” (Would they do so) even if Shaitan (Satan) invites them to the torment of the Fire. [Surah Luqman. Verse 21]

Allaah [The Exalted] stated:

And every nation has its appointed term; when their term is reached, neither can they delay it nor can they advance it an hour (or a moment). O Children of Adam! If there come to you Messengers from amongst you, reciting to you, My Verses, then whosoever becomes pious and righteous, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve. But those who reject Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and treat them with arrogance, they are the dwellers of the (Hell) Fire, they will abide therein forever. Who is more unjust than one who invents a lie against Allah or rejects His Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.)? For such their appointed portion (good things of this worldly life and their period of stay therein) will reach them from the Book (of Decrees) until, when Our Messengers (the angel of death and his assistants) come to them to take their souls, they (the angels) will say: “Where are those whom you used to invoke and worship besides Allah,” they will reply, “They have vanished and deserted us.” And they will bear witness against themselves, that they were disbelievers. (Allah) will say: “Enter you in the company of nations who passed away before you, of men and jinns, into the Fire.” Every time a new nation enters, it curses its sister nation (that went before), until they will be gathered all together in the Fire. The last of them will say to the first of them: “Our Lord! These misled us, so give them a double torment of the Fire.” He will say: “For each one there is double (torment), but you know not.” The first of them will say to the last of them: “You were not better than us, so taste the torment for what you used to earn.” [Surah Al-A’raaf. Verses 34-39]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

The parable of those who disbelieve in their Lord is that their works are as ashes, on which the wind blows furiously on a stormy day, they shall not be able to get aught of what they have earned. That is the straying, far away (from the Right Path). Do you not see that Allah has created the heavens and the earth with truth? If He will, He can remove you and bring (in your place) a new creation! And for Allah that is not hard or difficult (i.e. very easy for Allah). And they all shall appear before Allah (on the Day of Resurrection) then the weak will say to those who were arrogant (chiefs): “Verily, we were following you; can you avail us anything from Allah’s Torment?” They will say: “Had Allah guided us, we would have guided you. It makes no difference to us (now) whether we rage, or bear (these torments) with patience, there is no place of refuge for us.” And Shaitan (Satan) will say when the matter has been decided: “Verily, Allah promised you a promise of truth. And I too promised you, but I betrayed you. I had no authority over you except that I called you, so you responded to me. So blame me not, but blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. I deny your former act in associating me (Satan) as a partner with Allah (by obeying me in the life of the world). Verily, there is a painful torment for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.).” And those who believed (in the Oneness of Allah and His Messengers and whatever they brought) and did righteous deeds, will be made to enter Gardens under which rivers flow, – to dwell therein forever (i.e.in Paradise), with the permission of their Lord. Their greeting therein will be: Salam (peace!) . See you not how Allah sets forth a parable? – A goodly word as a goodly tree, whose root is firmly fixed, and its branches (reach) to the sky (i.e. very high). Giving its fruit at all times, by the Leave of its Lord and Allah sets forth parables for mankind in order that they may remember. And the parable of an evil word is that of an evil tree uprooted from the surface of earth having no stability. Allah will keep firm those who believe, with the word that stands firm in this world (i.e. they will keep on worshipping Allah Alone and none else), and in the Hereafter. And Allah will cause to go astray those who are Zalimun (polytheists and wrong-doers, etc.), and Allah does what He wills. [Surah Ibraaheem. Verses 18-27]

Refraining From Vaccination is Like drink-driving – [Brief Rebuke Against a Deluded, Opinionated and Fear-mongering Contagionist (Jurgen Klopp – Liverpool Manager)]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Most High] informed us about the meeting between his two noble Prophets – Musa and Khidr [peace be upon them]: [قَالَ لَهُ ۥ مُوسَىٰ هَلۡ أَتَّبِعُكَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن تُعَلِّمَنِ مِمَّا عُلِّمۡتَ رُشۡدً۬ا – Musa (Moses) said to him (Khidr): May I follow you so that you teach me something of that knowledge (guidance and true path) which you have been taught (by Allah)?] [قَالَ إِنَّكَ لَن تَسۡتَطِيعَ مَعِىَ صَبۡرً۬ا – He (Khidr) said: Verily! You will not be able to have patience with me! “And how can you have patience about a thing which you know not? وَكَيۡفَ تَصۡبِرُ عَلَىٰ مَا لَمۡ تُحِطۡ بِهِۦ خُبۡرً۬ا – And how can you have patience about a thing which you know not?] [Surah Al-Kahf. Verses 66-68]

The first affair we would like to acquaint Mr Jurgen klopp with is one of the beautiful statements of Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] regarding the verse: [وَكَيۡفَ تَصۡبِرُ عَلَىٰ مَا لَمۡ تُحِطۡ بِهِۦ خُبۡرً۬ا – And how can you have patience about a thing which you know not?] – That “From this is a command to employ careful deliberation and sound verification, and not rushing to pass judgement on a matter until what is intended by it is known and what its goal is”. (1)

The second affair we would like to acquaint Mr Jurgen Klopp with is the principle: “Al-Hukmu Alaa Shay’in Far’un An Tasawwurihee – Passing a judgement on something is to be (firmly linked and based) on understanding the affair”. Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “You do not pass a judgement on a thing except after being completely acquainted with it, so that the judgement is in accordance with what the real state of affairs is. And if this is not done, then great error occurs”. (2)

The third affair we would like to acquaint Mr Jurgen Klopp with is that comparing those who choose not to get vaccinated to drink drivers is a false and repugnant analogy! The consumption of alcohol – whether driving or not – is forbidden and one is commanded by the Creator to abandon everything that intoxicates the mind and intellect, whereas accepting a specific medication is recommended. Therefore, we suffice with the information on this link provided by Shaikh Abu Khadeejah [may Allaah preserve him]: https://www.abukhadeejah.com/taking-medicine-is-recommended-in-islam-for-the-one-who-is-sickbut-it-is-not-obligatory/

Finally, as for Mr Klopp’s fear-mongering about contagion, ignoring the experts and endangering others, then indeed all he did was propagate the false Aqeedah and superstitions of the pre-Islamic Arabs, as the saying goes: [لِكُلِّ قَوْمٍ وَارِث وَلِكُلِّ أَرْضٍ حَارِث وَلِكُلِّ ضَرٍّ هَالِك -Every people have their inheritors, every land has a cultivator and every evil has one destroyed by it]. Therefore, we suffice with the clarifications on the following links by Shaikh Abu Iyaadh and Shaikh Abu Khadeejah [may Allaah preserve them].

Brief Rebuttal Against Nadine Dorries (Culture Secretary) and Her Ilk – [The Veil and Other Affairs]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Most High] said:
يُرِيدُونَ أَنْ يُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ

They want to extinguish Allaah’s Light with their mouths [i.e. the Qur’an, the pure Islamic monotheism and the guidance Allaah sent Muhammad with] but Allah will not allow except that His Light should be perfected even though the disbelievers hate (it). [Surah At-Tawbah: Verse 32]

Imaam Ibn Katheer [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: They want to extinguish that which Allaah sent His Messenger with of guidance and the religion of truth merely by way of their arguments and fabrications; so their example in this is that of one who wants to extinguish the light of the sun or the moon by blowing at (them) and this can never be achieved. [Tafseer Ibn Katheer]

Some of these people behave as if they are seeking to fulfil the goal of king Louis IX, who in the year 1250 was captured whilst on a crusade against the Muslims of Egypt. He was imprisoned and later released after paying a large ransom. However, whilst in prison he utilised his time to think about ways in which to plot against Islaam and the Muslims, so shaytaan inspired him with the following plots: Firstly: The war in the battlefield between the Christians of the west and the Muslims should be replaced with a war based on ideas and cultural supremacy. Secondly: Prepare the West to corrupt the creed of the Muslims and distort the image of Islaam in the world.

Secondly, the one who considers the Niqaab Waajib will not be bothered about your foolish comments nor will she follow your path. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

[وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّبِعُوا سَبِيلَنَا وَلْنَحْمِلْ خَطَايَاكُمْ وَمَا هُم بِحَامِلِينَ مِنْ خَطَايَاهُم مِّن شَيْءٍ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ لَكَاذِبُونَ – And those who disbelieve say to those who believe: “Follow our way and we will verily bear your sins,” never will they bear anything of their sins. Surely, they are liars].

Imaam Ibn Katheer [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: Allaah (The Most High) informed (us) about the disbelievers of Quraish that they said to those amongst them who believed (in the message of Muhammad) and followed the (right) guidance: ‘’Abandon your religion, return to our religion and follow our way. We will verily bear your sins if you have any’’, just as a person says: Do this and your sin is upon my neck. So Allaah declared their statement false, saying that never will they (i.e. the Quraish) bear anything of their (i.e. the believers) sins. Surely, they are liars. That is because no one will bear anything of the sins of others. [Tafseer Ibn katheer. Surah Al-Ankabut. Verse 12]

We remind them about true shyness: https://salaficentre.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/True-Shyness-And-Some-Deeds-In-Opposition-to-It.pdf

We remind them that indeed Allaah [The Exalted] did inform us about them and their spiteful statements. Allaah said: [لَتُبۡلَوُنَّ فِىٓ أَمۡوَٲلِڪُمۡ وَأَنفُسِڪُمۡ وَلَتَسۡمَعُنَّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ مِن قَبۡلِڪُمۡ وَمِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَشۡرَكُوٓاْ أَذً۬ى كَثِيرً۬ا‌ۚ وَإِن تَصۡبِرُواْ وَتَتَّقُواْ فَإِنَّ ذَٲلِكَ مِنۡ عَزۡمِ ٱلۡأُمُورِ – You shall certainly be tried and tested in your wealth and properties and in your personal selves, and you shall certainly hear much that will grieve you from those who received the Scripture before you and from those who ascribe partners to Allaah; but if you persevere patiently, and become pious, then verily, that will be a determining factor in all affairs. [[Surah Aal Imran. Verse 186]

Allaah [The Exalted] said: [قَدۡ بَدَتِ ٱلۡبَغۡضَآءُ مِنۡ أَفۡوَٲهِهِمۡ وَمَا تُخۡفِى صُدُورُهُمۡ أَكۡبَرُ‌ۚ – Hatred has already appeared from their mouths, but what their breasts conceal is far worse]. [Surah Aal Imran. Verse 118]

Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: They seek to conquer the intellects of the Muslim children and nurture their hearts upon their views, either by making them feel that their ways are superior in every affair-be it in affairs of creed and religion, or that which they speak with by way of languages, or what they consider to be civilized manners, customs etc.. They seek to nurture a great number of Muslims in the Muslim lands until they are intoxicated with their views and return them to their lands. Then they start praising and promoting them until they become the figureheads in their countries. So they spread their ideas through these people…etc They encourage the Muslims in the Muslim lands to learn their languages at the expense of the Arabic language, which is the language of the Qur’aan- the language by way of which the Muslims perform their acts of worship. They also establish many studies that are intended to cause nuisance and glorify what they call popular literature and national heritage…..etc They prepare a large number of people amongst their people to study Islam and the Arabic language and write books, and take up teaching positions in universities- orientalists….etc They also spread propaganda that Muslim women in the Muslim lands are oppressed in order to take them out of their homes and place them where they want. But Allaah (The Most High) said:

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ قُلْ لِأَزْوَاجِكَ وَبَنَاتِكَ وَنِسَاءِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ يُدْنِينَ عَلَيْهِنَّ مِنْ جَلابِيبِهِنَّ ذَلِكَ أَدْنَى أَنْ يُعْرَفْنَ فَلا يُؤْذَيْنَ وَكَانَ اللَّهُ غَفُورًا رَحِيمًا

O Prophet! Tell your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers to draw their cloaks (veils) all over their bodies. That will be better, that they should be known (as free respectable women) so as not to be annoyed. And Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” They set up radio programmes designed to mislead gullible young Muslims who do not understand Islam and do not have sufficient knowledge, especially in Africa…. However if the Muslims exercise patience these plots will not harm them. Allaah (The Most High) said: [وَإِنْ تَصْبِرُوا وَتَتَّقُوا لا يَضُرُّكُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْئًا إِنَّ اللَّهَ بِمَا يَعْمَلُونَ مُحِيطٌ – But if you remain patient and become pious, not the least harm will their cunning do to you. Surely, Allah surrounds all that they do]. ]

Islamism and Radical Islamist Groups – [Unveiling Some Realities Behind Terms Used By Figureheads of The Ideologues- (Tony Blair and Others)]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Islamism and Radical Islamist Groups Still Prime Security Threat to West: https://www.arabnews.com/node/1923746/world

One of the general fundamental principles in Islam is to know that words (or terms) are two types: words that are mentioned in the Qur’aan and (authentic) Sunnah, therefore, it is obligated on every believer to affirm them, affirm what Allaah and His Messenger have affirmed and negate what Allaah and His Messenger have negated. The words (or terms) affirmed is truth and the ones Allaah negated are (negated) in truth, because indeed Allaah speaks the truth and guides to the straight path. The words (or terms) of the Sharee’ah are sanctified, and it is from perfection in knowledge that one seeks after the (sound meanings) which the Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah] intended by them, in order to affirm what he affirmed and negate the meanings he negated, because it is obligated on us to believe and bear witness to everything he has stated and follow him in everything he has commanded. As for the words (or terms) that are neither found in the Qur’an and (authentic) Sunnah, nor did the pious predecessors hold a consensus regarding whether they are negated or affirmed, then it is not incumbent on anyone to agree with the one who negates or affirms them until its intended meaning is explained. So, if its intended meaning agrees with the (revelation, commands, prohibitions etc) conveyed by the Messenger, it is affirmed; but if its intended meaning is in opposition to the (revelation, commands, prohibitions etc) conveyed by the Messenger, it is rejected. (1)

What Do The Ideologues Intend By Islamism? “The faith, doctrine, or cause of Islam”. “Popular reform movement advocating the reordering of government and society in accordance with laws prescribed by Islam”. (2) “Strong belief in the teachings of Islam”. (3) “Islamic militancy or fundamentalism”. (4) As one can see, these are some of the definitions of the term Islamism. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

إِنَّكُمۡ لَفِى قَوۡلٍ۬ مُّخۡتَلِفٍ۬
يُؤۡفَكُ عَنۡهُ مَنۡ أُفِكَ

Certainly, you have different ideas (Islam). Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad and the Qur’an) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). [Surah Adh-Dhaariyaat. Verses 8-9]

Observations:

If what the ideologues intend by Islamism is “The faith, doctrine, or cause of Islam”, “Reordering of government and society in accordance with laws prescribed by islam”, or “Strong belief in the teachings of Islam”, then indeed this is something praiseworthy and it is pursued through the sound methodology of the Prophets. This is what the true and upright Salafi scholars call to. Read ‘Methodology of the Prophets’ by Saudi Salafi Scholar Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee: http://www.troid.org/media/pdf/methodology.pdf and ‘Rectification of Modern Society’ By Saudi Salafi Scholar Imaam Abdul Azeez bin Baaz: https://salaficentre.com/2021/01/10/rectification-of-modern-societies-by-imaam-abdul-azeez-bin-baaz-rahimahullaah/

As for the belief that government and society – in Muslim societies -should be governed with laws prescribed by Islam, then indeed this is something praiseworthy, because the Sharee’ah is a proof against humankind. Imaam Ash-Shaatibee [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated: “Know that Allaah has established this sharee’ah as a proof against the creation [i.e. mankind and jinn] – the old and young alike; the obedient and the disobedient; the righteous and the wicked. He did not specify the proof against anyone in exclusion of another one. Also all the other revealed laws were established as proof against all the other nations to whom they were revealed. The Sharee’ah is the judge- restrictedly and unrestrictedly; the [source of judgement] and the judge on all those who have reached the age of responsibility. It is the path attached to [what Allaah has ordained] and the Greatest Guide. And have you not seen the statement of Allaah [The Most High]?!

And thus We have sent to you (O Muhammad) Ruhan (an Inspiration, and a Mercy) of Our Command. You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith? But We have made it (this Qur’an) a light wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will. And verily, you (O Muhammad) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight Path (i.e. Allah’s religion of Islamic Monotheism). [Surah Ash-Shooraa. Verse 52]

The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] was the first to be guided to the Book and Eemaan, and then those who followed him. The Book is the Guide and also the Sunnah which was sent down upon him explains that guidance [i.e. the Sunnah and the Qur’aan explain each other]. All the creation [i.e. mankind and Jinn] are guided by it.

Therefore, when this is the case, the Sharee’ah is worthy of being a decisive proof against them [i.e. against mankind and Jinn] and a beacon by way of which they are guided to the truth. Their nobility is established in accordance with how far they embrace its rulings- through acting upon them in speech, belief and deeds– and not merely due to the level of their intellects or their nobility amongst their people. That is because Allaah [The Most High] has determined nobility through Taqwa and no other than it. Allaah [The Most High] said:

[إِنَّ أَڪۡرَمَكُمۡ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَتۡقَٮٰكُمۡ‌ۚ- Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has more fear of Allaah]. [Surah Al-Hujuraat. Verse 13]

The one who is the firmest [in his or her] adherence to the Sharee’ah is more worthy of honour and nobility, but it is not possible for the one below this [i.e. the one whose adherence to the Sharee’ah is below that of the one who is firmest in adhering to it] to reach the highest level of honour based on his adherence to the Sharee’ah. Therefore, honour is [measured] in accordance with one’s [level of adherence] to the Sharee’ah”. (5)

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Verily! Allah commands that you should render back the trusts to those, to whom they are due; and that when you judge between men, you judge with justice. Verily, how excellent is the teaching which He (Allah) gives you! Truly, Allah is Ever All-Hearer, All-Seer. O you who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger (Muhammad), and those of you (Muslims) who are in authority. (And) if you differ in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if you believe in Allah and in the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination. [Surah An-Nisaa. Verses 58-59]

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “The scholars say that the first verse was revealed regarding the rulers – that it is obligated on them to render back the trusts to those whom they are due and that when they judge between the people they do so with justice. And the second verse was revealed regarding those under the ruler’s authority, the armies and other than them- that it is obligated on them to obey the rulers who establish justice in their distributions, rulings, military expeditions and other affairs, except when they command one to commit an act of disobedience to Allaah, because there cannot be obedience to the creation in disobedience to Allaah. And if they differ in any matter, they should return to the book of Allaah and the Sunnah of His Messenger. If the rulers do not do this, then they are only obeyed in that which is in agreement with obedience to Allaah and His Messenger, their rights are fulfilled just as Allaah and His Messenger commanded and they are aided in righteousness and piety, but not in sin and transgression”. (6)

Siyaasah: What is Siyaasah? It means to regulate the affairs of the citizens- rules related to behaviour and upright rectification. It has jurisdiction over the individual’s behaviour and the society as a whole. It involves Islamic jurisprudence by way of which the rulers are facilitated with knowledge and understanding of the rulings related to looking after the affairs of the state, its set-ups and Sharee’ah principles. (7)

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said: What is intended by ‘Separation between religion and Siyaasah’ is that the ruler can do what he wants based on what he thinks is a means of fulfilling (responsibilities related to) affairs of the state, whether it agrees with Sharee’ah or not; or even if what he does is based on the judgement of the religion, because the meaning of separation is to distinguish between two things and give them specific definitions. Therefore, in relation to this, the ruler looks at what he considers to be beneficial even if it opposes the Sharee’ah. There is no doubt that this is a false and sinful statement, because the religion itself is Siyaasah and Siyaasah itself is the religion, but what we mean by Siyaasah is the Siyaasah that is based on equity and not oppression. The religion of Islaam came to bring about wellbeing [and upright conduct] for the people in their behaviour towards their Lord and between themselves. It establishes the Rights of Allaah, rights for the people- rights for parents, relatives, wives and the Muslims – in general. And even for non-Muslims, Islam has given them rights that are well-known to the scholars. It laid down the means and conditions for war and peace making, punishments for crimes – some of which are determined by way of specific texts and some are left to the jurisdiction of the ruler, as well as other affairs which clearly shows that Islaam in its entirety is Siyaasah. The root of this word Siyaasah is Saa’is and that is the person who is responsible for looking after the affairs of animals – fulfilling that which brings them wellbeing and repelling that which will harm them. This is Siyaasah. We find this meaning when we contemplate on affairs of the religion, and that Allaah has legislated – for the servants – things without which humans will not be able to establish [a fruitful, stable, orderly, safe] life, and forbade them from things that will corrupt their state of affairs – either affecting everyone or specific individuals. Therefore, in reality the entire religion is Siyaasah. And we are certain that anyone who separates Siyaasah from the Religion and establishes Siyaasah based on what he sees fit and what he forbids, then indeed his Siyaasah is corrupt, and it will cause more harm than good. If it rectifies one affair based on his limited [or deficient] opinions, then indeed it greatly corrupts from another angle. So, this makes it incumbent that one contemplates on the state of affairs of those who base their Siyaasah on their desires and opinions, and became distanced from the religion of Islaam, you will find -after contemplating – that either all that Siyaasah is corrupt or most of it, and that if it rectifies an affair from one angle, it corrupts from another angle. So, based on this, separation between Siyaasah and Religion is a sinful deed and it is obligated on the one who seeks to rectify himself and others that he does so only based on the religion of Islaam. (8)

Relationship With The Muslim Rulers: The Muslim rulers are commanded to rule by the Sharee’ah and they are not obeyed when they oppose the command of Allaah or the command of the Messenger. However, it is forbidden to rebel against the rulers when they fail to establish justice. Umm Salamah [may Allaah be pleased with her] said that Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings be upon him] said, “There will be rulers from whom you will see both good and corruption. One who recognizes their evil and hates it will maintain his innocence, but one who is pleased with it and follows them will be sinful”. It was said, “Shall we not fight them?” He said, “No, as long as they pray”. [Saheeh Muslim 1854]. Read: https://www.abukhadeejah.com/the-tyranny-of-the-rulers-a-reason-for-rebellion/

The rulers are to be advised in private when they err. Iyaadh Ibn Ghanam [may Allaah be pleased with him] said that Allaah’s Messenger [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him], said, “Whoever wants to advise the one in authority, then he should not do so openly; rather he should take him by the hand and advise him in private. If he accepts the advice, then that is good. If he does not accept it, then he has fulfilled his obligation”. [Musnad Aḥmad 14909]

The believers supplicate for the rulers. Imaam Abdul Azeez Bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy upon him] was asked about the one who refrains from supplicating for the ruler, so he replied: “This is from the ignorance and lack of foresight of this person, because indeed supplicating for the ruler is one of the greatest acts of worship and righteous deeds. It is one of the acts of sincerity to the Allaah and sincerely wanting good for Allaah’s servants. When Tufayl Ibn Amr Ad-Dawsi [may Allaah be pleased with him] came to the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] and said to him, ”Daws (a well-known tribe of disbelievers) are doomed, they have disobeyed and been stubborn. Pray to Allah against them”. He said, ”O Allaah! Guide Daws and bring them here”. [Bukhaari and Muslim] So, Allaah guided Daws and they became Muslims. Therefore, a believer supplicates for the people to be blessed with good and the ruler is more entitled to it, because his rectification is a means of rectification for the Muslim nation. Supplicating for him is one of the most important supplications – one of the most important acts of sincerity to Allaah and sincerely wanting good for the Muslims, so one supplicates for him to be guided to the truth and helped upon that path, that Allaah grants him righteous companions, keeps him away from the evils of his soul and the evils of the people he sits with. Therefore, supplicating for him to be guided, blessed with the ability to do good, blessed with a righteous heart, blessed with good deeds and righteous companions, is one of the most important things to ask for and one of the most virtuous acts of worship. It has been reported from Imaam Ahmad [may Allaah have mercy upon him] that he said, ‘If I knew that I have one supplication that would be accepted, I would make it for the ruler’, and he reported this from Al-Fudayl Ibn Iyaadh [may Allaah have mercy upon him]”. (9)

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “If you see something from the ruler that is in opposition to (the Qur’an and Sunnah), then supplicate to Allaah for him because their rectification is a means of rectification for the Muslim nation; but when we say, ‘O Allaah! Rectify the rulers and guide them’, we hear some of the foolish people saying, ‘O Allaah! Do not rectify them’. Glorified be Allaah, The Most Great! If Allaah does not rectify them, then that would be more evil for you, so supplicate for them to be guided and become righteous, and Allaah is able to do everything’”. (10)

Imaam Al-Bayhaqqi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said that Abu Uthmaan [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “Advise the ruler and supplicate for him a lot to be upright, guided in speech and action, and in his judgments, because indeed if they are righteous, the people will be righteous due to their righteousness. And beware of supplicating against them to be cursed and they increase in evil, so calamity increases on the Muslims; rather supplicate for them to be granted the ability to repent so that they abandon evil and calamity is removed from the believers”. (11)

Imaam Ibn Salaah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “The leaders of the Muslims deserve to be advised, aided upon truth and obeyed in that. They should be notified and reminded with gentle and kind speech, avoid rebelling against them and supplicate for them to be blessed with guidance and good deeds”. (12)

Imaam An-Nawawi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “The scholars hold a consensus that it is recommended to supplicate for the rulers and leaders of the Muslims during the Jumu’ah khutbah, that Allaah rectifies them, helps them to establish truth and justice, and what is similar to it, as well as supplicate for Muslim armies”. (13)

Shaikh Abdullaah Abaa Batayn [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “The good supplication for the ruler during the khutbah is that one supplicates that Allaah rectifies and guides him, rectifies the affairs through him, aid him against the kuffaar and the corrupt people, as opposed to what is found in some of the khutbahs of praise and lies; rather the ruler is to supplicated for and not praised, especially when praised with something he does not possess”. (14)

As for the terms “Islamic militancy”, “Radical Islamism” or “Islamic fundamentalism” in context of what the ideologues fear for the West, then indeed these terms need clarification and distinction! Firstly, militancy cannot be attributed to Islam, because the only people known for such behaviour are the khawaarij and those influenced by their ideas. It is well-known in Islam that a Muslim is not allowed to commit any act of aggression against a non-Muslim citizen. The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Whoever kills one who is under an agreement of protection will not smell the fragrance of Paradise, even though its fragrance can be smelt at a distance of forty years”. [Saheeh Al-Bukhaari 6914]. This hadeeth shows clearly that a Muslim is threatened with punishment in the afterlife for murdering a non-Muslim citizen who is under an agreement of protection. Therefore, how can anyone attribute militancy to Islam. However, this does not negate the fact that Jihaad is prescribed in the Sharee’ah under the banner of a Muslim ruler. Read Jihaad in our times – a clarification by Salafi Shaikh Abdul Waahid Abu Khadeejah from a clarification by Salafi Scholar Al-Allaamah Saaleh al-Fawzaan: https://www.abukhadeejah.com/salafi-shaikh-fawzaan-on-jihaad-in-our-times-and-the-guidelines-of-jihaad-according-to-islam/

As for the word ‘Radical’, then indeed there is no doubt that its definition is ambiguous because not everyone who ‘Believes or expresses the belief that there should be Great Social or Political Change’ is to be considered blameworthy. Therefore, let us briefly scrutinise the words ‘Great’ and ‘Extreme’ in this definition. Indeed, the Prophets and Messengers of Allaah [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon them], such as Nooh, Ibraaheem, Moosaa, Eesaa and Muhammad brought great changes and well-being, even though their opponents slandered, vilified and mocked at them, and even plotted to kill them. In the view of those hostile polytheists, the great changes desired by these noble Messengers – based on the commands and prohibitions of their Lord – was considered unpraiseworthy and radical, even though no sane person agreed with their absurd claims. Therefore, this word Radical cannot be applied to the word Islaam, rather it would have been appropriate to say, “Misguided Muslims” or “Ignorant Muslims” who fall into extremism – outside what the Qur’aan and authentic Sunnah legislate, because there has to be a distinction between the actions of the person and what the religion of Islam stands for. The Prophets and Messengers brought perfect change – free from the actions of the Kharijite lunatics of Mali, Syria and other places.

As for the word ‘Extreme’ in this definition of the word ‘Radical’, then indeed what is to be considered extreme or moderate is not left to the desires of men; rather it is solely based on the commands and prohibitions of the Creator, just as Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “And even though there is something in the paths of analogical reasoning and reflection that will lead to knowledge, however sometimes it cannot give detail explanation in a dispute between the people of the earth due to the minute details and ambiguities [in that dispute], and at other times due to the fact the people differ when prioritizing necessities. Therefore, due to this Allaah [The Most High] commanded [us] to return to the revelation in times of dispute. Allaah [The Most High] said:

Mankind were one community (i.e. upon Tawheed and Allaah’s Sharee’ah) and Allah sent Prophets with glad tidings and warnings, and with them He sent the Scripture in truth to judge between people in matters wherein they differed]. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Verse 213]

Therefore, Allaah [The Most High] designated the revealed Books [i.e. the Qur’aan being the final of them] as the judge between the people in matters wherein they differ”. (15)

If a person says that the intellect is to be given precedence over the revelation, then which intellect should we follow? Are the intellects of the people combined in the intellect of one man or do they differ? There are intellects of the philosophers, the atheists, the heretics, the people of evil desires and those who confound truth with falsehood, and due to this one of the pious predecessors said, “Had the desires been one, it would have been considered to be the [basis of] truth”. Therefore, we say, ‘Had the intellects been one, it would have been considered to be the [basis of] truth”. (16)

Therefore, the word ‘Radical’ together with the words ‘Great’ and ‘Extreme’ must be scrutinized, because the ideologues, militant secularists and atheists utilise them to propagate ambiguities and falsehood, as well as innovate false concepts by way of which they seek to vilify the religion of Islaam whilst seeking to refute the lunacy of the kharijites. It is incumbent upon Tony Blair and his ilk to stop making haphazard attempts to defile the word ‘Islam’ whilst using the Kharijite lunatics to cover their attempt at distorting Islam. Indeed, the Sunnah of the Messenger is not chaotic, rather it is revelation from the All Wise Creator. The Sunnah commands us to establish a society based on Islamic monotheism and piety, and forbids from everything that is detrimental to society, whether Tony Blair accepts it or not, and may Allaah guide him to that which is correct Aameen. He should understand that Islam is not an ideology, rather it is the final revelation to humankind from the Lord of the heavens and the earth. However, when people innovate into Islaam, such as what we are witnessing from the terrorists in France and Austria, then indeed those innovations become ideas of men and have nothing to do with Islaam. The Prophet [peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him] said, “Whoever innovates into this religion that which is not from it will have it rejected”. (17) He also said, “Whoever does a deed that is not in conformity with the religion, it will be rejected”. (18)

As for the term “Islamic Fundamentalism”, even though there is much dispute between the people regarding its meanings, however the meaning generally intended by those who use it is, ‘Strict observance of the teachings of the Qur’an and the Shari’a (Islamic Law)’. Therefore, if this is what Westerners intend by the term ‘Fundamentalism’, then indeed Allaah [The Exalted] said:

فَلَا وَرَبِّكَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ حَتَّىٰ يُحَكِّمُوكَ فِيمَا شَجَرَ بَيۡنَهُمۡ ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُواْ فِىٓ أَنفُسِہِمۡ حَرَجً۬ا مِّمَّا قَضَيۡتَ وَيُسَلِّمُواْ تَسۡلِيمً۬ا

But no, by your Lord, they can have no Faith, until they make you (O Muhammad) judge in all disputes between them, and find in themselves no resistance against your decisions, and accept (them) with full submission. [Surah An-Nisaa. Verse 65]

Abu Musa [may Allaah be pleased with him] reported that the Prophet [peace and blessings of Allah be upon him] said, “My example, and the example of what I have been sent with is that of a man who came to some people and said, O people! I have seen the enemy’s army with my own eyes and I am a plain warner; so protect yourselves!’ Then a group of his people obeyed him and fled at night proceeding stealthily till they were safe, while another group of them disbelieved him and stayed at their places till morning when the army came upon them and killed and ruined them completely. So this is the example of that person who obeys me and follows that truth which I have brought (the Qur’aan and the Sunnah), and the example of the one who disobeys me and disbelieves the Truth I have brought”. (19]

Therefore, if this is what the media intend by the term fundamentalism, then indeed it is a praiseworthy deed in the sight of Allaah [The Exalted], but if they mean those who advocate violence, then indeed this is the behaviour of the khaarijites innovators – ISIS, Al-Qa’idah, Jabhat An-Nusra and their ilk amongst the terrorists.

Therefore, it is incumbent upon the ideologues to refrain fear-mongering. The one who recently murdered the middle school history teacher had no right to harm anyone, let alone do so in the name of Islaam. So, there’s no need for exaggeration, fear-mongering and sloganeering, as we have heard some of the French ideologues saying, “Islamists want our future “They will never have it”.

A Muslim’s Relationship With non-Muslim Rulers and Fellow non-Muslim Citizens: Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [may Allaah have mercy upon him] stated: “Likewise I invite you to have respect for those people who have the right that they should be respected, from those between you and whom there is and agreement (of protection) [i.e. Non-Muslims]. For the land which you are living is such that there is an agreement between you and them. If this were not the case they would have killed you or expelled you. So preserve this agreement, and do not prove treacherous to it, since treachery is a sign of the hypocrites, and it is not from the way of the Believers. And know that it is authentically reported from the Prophet that he said : “Whoever kills one who is under and agreement of protection will not smell the fragrance of Paradise.” Do not be fooled by those sayings of the foolish people : those who say : ‘Those people are Non-Muslims, so their wealth is lawful for us [i.e. to misappropriate or take by way of murder and killing].’ For by Allaah – this is a lie. A lie about Allaah’s Religion, and a lie in Islamic societies. So we may not say that it is lawful to be treacherous towards people whom we have an agreement with. O my brothers. O youth. O Muslims. Be truthful in your buying and selling, and renting, and leasing, and in all mutual transactions. Because truthfulness is from the characteristics of the Believers, and Allaah – the Most High – has commanded truthfulness – in the saying of Allaah – the Most High – “O you who believe – fear and keep you duty to Allaah and be with the truthful”. And the Prophet encouraged truthfulness and said : “Adhere to truthfulness, because truthfulness leads to goodness, and goodness leads to Paradise; and a person will continue to be truthful, and strive to be truthful until he will be written down with Allaah as a truthful person”. And he warned against falsehood, and said : “Beware of falsehood, because falsehood leads to wickedness, and wickedness leads to the Fire. And a person will continue lying, and striving to lie until he is written down with Allaah as a great liar.” O my brother Muslims. O youth. Be true in your sayings with your brothers, and with those Non-Muslims whom you live along with – so that you will be inviters to the Religion of Islaam, by your actions and in reality. So how many people there are who first entered into Islaam because of the behaviour and manners of the Muslims, and their truthfulness, and their being true in their dealings. [End of quote: salafipublications.com]

Therefore, either the ideologues honestly learn about Islam and speak the truth, clearly explain and make a distinction, or they should remain silent; otherwise they’ll pursue the agenda of King Louis IX, who in the year 1250 was captured whilst on a crusade against the Muslims of Egypt; then he was imprisoned and later released after paying a large ransom. However, whilst in prison he utilized his time to think about ways in which to plot against Islaam and the Muslims, so shaytaan inspired him with the following plots: Firstly, the war in the battlefield between the Christians of the west and the Muslims should be replaced with a war based on ideas and cultural supremacy. Secondly: Prepare the West to corrupt the creed of the Muslims and distort the image of Islaam in the world. (20)

We remind Tony Blair and his ilk not be beguiled by worldly achievements, as Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] also said, “Everyone has participated in Industrialization and modern inventions – the righteous, the wicked, the believer and the disbeliever. As for religion and (virtuous) manners, then indeed -in this era-, it has greatly declined. So, when this industrial advancement is devoid of religion and sound faith, it became a great harm from two angles: Firstly, It beguiled many people, who – due of their ignorance – think that worldly advancement is proof to show that its people are more worthy of achieving every good than others. They are clearly misguided, for indeed a person might be from the most skilful in affairs related to the material world, whilst he is one of the most ignorant people in affairs related to the sound religion, virtuous manners and the other beneficial affairs in this life and the next. Secondly, when these inventions are devoid of sound religion, its mercy and wisdom, it becomes a great disaster for humankind due to the wars that resulted from them, killing, destruction and other affairs related to it. Its regulators [or overseers] and scholars are unable to laydown – for humankind -a stable, just and good life, rather they have not ceased moving from one miserable state to another. This is inevitable and the continuous state of affairs shows that [to be the case]. Therefore all good is found in the sound religion and all evil is found in rejecting and wilfully denying [Allaah, His Messengers, His Laws, Guidance, Commands, Prohibitions etc]. (21)

[Surah Al-Mutaffifeen. Aayaat 1-7]

Imaam As-Sadi [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said:

[Tafseer As-Sadi. paraphrased]

Therefore, in order to be upon moderation in this affair, we should avoid bigotry and unwarranted harshness. Indeed, there is no harm that we have engaged in discussion, rebutting and exchanging views based on different research presented by scientists in the West, but one must refrain from bigotry- refrain from employing bully tactics, fear-mongering, shopping around for the statements of the people of knowledge and belittling those Muslim scientists- regardless whether they are many or few – who either prefer alternative treatment to vaccines or they’ve refrained from accepting the offer to be vaccinated in the UK. Some of us – who prefer alternative treatment or have not accepted an offer for vaccination in the UK- have relatives – (including our parents)- who hold different views; but they neither vilify nor seek to bully us when we exchange views and researches on this subject matter. However, it seems that some British and American citizens are on a mission to bully and vilify everyone who presents research that favors alternative treatment to vaccines, therefore anyone who presents such research is either an anti-vaxxer or one upon falsehood. By Allaah! We are not unable to respond to their harshness, bigotry and bully tactics; rather the only reason we’ve refrained from responding to them – whilst they bully and vilify others openly and indirectly on social media (websites and twitter) – is that one our elder Salafi teachers – Shaikh Abu Khadeejah [may Allaah preserve him] – wrote a clarification few months ago regarding moderation in this subject matter; so we sufficed ourselves with it – neither seeking to bully nor belittle anyone who disagrees with us; rather we deal gently with people in this affair. The debate between scientists – Muslims and non-Muslims – will continue, but we ask Allaah to include us amongst those who behave themselves in a manner beloved to Allaah. May Allaah reward Shaikh Abu Khadeejah with abundant good, because the clarification he wrote few months ago deals with this affair. Also, may Allaah reward Shaikh Abu Iyaadh with abundant Khayr for providing a lot of information on contagion and other affairs – rebutting the superstitions of the fear-mongers, alarmists, the proponents of Darwinism and those criminals who utilize medicine as a means of control and amassing wealth. And Allaah knows best.

Polite Response to Those British and American Citizens Who Vilify When One Exercises His Right to Accept or Refrain From a Specific Medical Treatment

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Firstly, read article by Shaikh Abu Khadeejah [may Allaah preserve him]: An Advice Regarding Differing Over COVID-19 ― And Understanding The Ijitihād Of Scholars In Worldly Affairs:

Secondly, neither shall we pay attention to the ranting and raving of some fear-mongers nor the veiled insults of some bullies, because we are exercising our right – in the country we are living – to accept or reject medical treatment offered to us.
