The Calamity of Ignorance & Its Trial – Shaykh Zayd bin Haadi

Al Allaamah Zayd bin Haadi Al Madkhalee (rahimahullah) said:

“And People are not exactly similar, the reality is that ignorance is like (different levels of) darknesses, and ignorance is from the greatest calamity and trial, especially when Allaah grants and favours you with an opportunity in your life for you to learn (Islamic knowledge), you instead spend your entire lifetime in enjoying your worldly physical existence, this is what (true and great) loss is.”

The Wisdom in Creating the Abode of the Dunya & The Abode of The Hereafter – Shaykh Zayd Bin Haadi

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

Allaah – The All Knowing, The All Wise, The Most Benign and Kind, The Lord and Nuturer, The Creator and The Tremendous One, The Magnificent – decreed the creation of the two abodes, the worldly life and the afterlife; then He (Glorified Be He and Free is He from all imperfections) made the first (abode)a place for the (performance of righteous) action and the second (abode) a place of recompense. Indeed He (Glorified Be He and Free is He from all imperfections ) obligated on humans and the Jinn with obligations that are based on commands and prohibitions, and recompense is based on this on the day of judgement.

[Allaah said]:

فَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ خَيْرًا يَرَهُ

So whosoever does good equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it.

وَمَن يَعْمَلْ مِثْقَالَ ذَرَّةٍ شَرًّا يَرَهُ

And whosoever does evil equal to the weight of an atom (or a small ant), shall see it.

Accompanying One Who is a Slave to His Belly

Muhammad Ibn Waasi (rahimahullaah) said: “There is no good in accompanying companions and engaging in conversations if they are slaves to their bellies (i.e. only interested in earning in order to eat and enjoy themselves); because if they are like this, some of them will hinder others from the affairs of the aakhirah (i.e. those deeds that will lead them to success in the hereafter).”

When the son of Adam wakes up in the morning -[A Serious Reminder About Restraining The Tongue]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

The Messenger of Allaah (sallalaahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ”When the son of Adam wakes up in the morning, all the limbs humble themselves before the tongue and say: ”Fear Allaah for our sake, (for) we are with you; if you are upright, we will be upright; and if you are crooked, we will become crooked.” [1]

The Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) also said: ”Whoever can guarantee (the chastity of) what is between his two jaw bones and what is between his two legs (i.e. his mouth, his tongue and his private parts), I guarantee Paradise for him.” [2]

Imaam Abdul-Azeez Bin Baaz (rahimahullaah) said: This requires two affairs; [a] A lot of remembrance (of Allaah); [b] keeping away from gatherings of heedlessness and doubts, and (keeping away from) that which will result in fornication and nonsense speech. [3]

Al-Hasan Bin Saaleh (rahimahullaah) said:

”I scrutinized Wara (apprehensive fear) thoroughly and did it find it more lacking in anything than the tongue.” [4]

Imaam Fudayl Ibn Iyaad (rahimahullaah) said:

”Neither hajj nor taking up positions during battle, nor Jihaad are more difficult than restraining the tongue.” [5]

Imaam Ibn Qudaamah Al-Maqdisee (rahimahullaah) said:

Know that whoever is acquainted with the worth of his era and that it is his main capital, he will not seek an understanding except in what is beneficial. This acquaintance obligates restraining one’s tongue from speaking about that which does not concern him, for indeed the one who abandons the remembrance of Allaah (The Most High) and busies himself with what does not concern him, then he is like one who is able to get hold of a gem but exchanges it for a clod of earth.  This is a loss of one’s lifespan. [1] Abridged: When will Palestine be returned to us?–Shaikh Raslaan

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy

Shaikh Raslaan (may Allaah preserve him) said:

When will Palestine be returned to us?

When a Muslim in any place in the earth asks, ”When will Palestine be returned to us?” The answer is, ”If you return to Allaah (in correct belief, righteous action, obedience etc.), Palestine will be returned to you.”  This answer is derived from the statement of the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) reported by Imaam Ahmad and Abu Dawood on the authority of Thawbaan (radiyallaahu-anahu) that the Messenger (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said: ”The nations will soon call one another against you, just as people call one another to eat from a qas-a (i.e. a large plate of food). They asked: ‘’O Messenger of Allaah, is it because we will be few in number at that time? He (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) replied: No, you will be many in number at that time, but you will be Ghuthaa –(i.e. like the froth scum on the water).  And Allaah will remove from the hearts of the enemies the fear they had for you and will place wahn in your hearts. They said: What is Wahn O Messenger of Allaah? He said: Love of the worldly life and having hatred for death.’’ [Reported by Ahmad 21897 and Abu Daawood 4297. [Declared authentic by  Imaam Albaanee in As-saheehah number: 8183]

If we return to Allaah (in correct belief, righteous actions, obedience etc.), He will returned to us what has been taken away away from us. If we remain distant from Allaah (i.e. distant from the correct creed, righteous actions, obedience etc.), we will lose what is in our hands. And indeed Allaah (The Blessed and Most High) has made this judgement in His Tremendous Book, and He (The Most High) said: [وَإِذْ تَأَذَّنَ رَبُّكُمْ لَئِن شَكَرْتُمْ لَأَزِيدَنَّكُمْ ۖ وَلَئِن كَفَرْتُمْ إِنَّ عَذَابِي لَشَدِيدٌ ] ”And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: “If you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allah), I will give you more (of My Blessings), but if you are thankless, verily! My Punishment is indeed severe.” [Soorah Ibraaheem: Ayah: 7]

He (The Blessed and Most High) clarified that being thankless for blessings bestowed (on us) will cause it to cease…. Our scholars say, ”Blessings are a prey and being thankful (for it) is the thing that makes (it) remain.
