We Are All Under Ram’s (or Rama’s) Spell! [Uprooting a Polytheist’s Superstitions And Illusions]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Allaah [The Exalted] informed us that Prophet Ibraaheem [alayhis salaam] said to his people:

And how should I fear those whom you associate in worship with Allah (though they can neither benefit nor harm), while you fear not that you have joined in worship with Allah things for which He has not sent down to you any authority. (So) which of the two parties has more right to be in security? If you but know.” [Surah Al-An’aam. Aayah 81]

Allaah [The Exalted] informed us about the people of Prophet Hud [alayhis salaam]:

They said: “O Hud! No evidence have you brought us, and we shall not leave our gods for your (mere) saying! And we are not believers in you. “All that we say is that some of our gods (false deities) have seized you with evil (madness).” He said: “I call Allah to witness and bear you witness that I am free from that which you ascribe as partners in worship – With Him (Allah). So plot against me, all of you, and give me no respite. “I put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord! There is not a moving (living) creature but He has grasp of its forelock. Verily, my Lord is on the Straight Path (the truth)”. [Surah Al-An’aam. Aayaat 53-56]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

O mankind! A similitude has been coined, so listen to it (carefully): Verily! Those on whom you call besides Allah, cannot create (even) a fly, even though they combine together for the purpose. And if the fly snatched away a thing from them, they would have no power to release it from the fly. So weak are (both) the seeker and the sought. They have not estimated Allah His Rightful Estimate; Verily, Allah is All-Strong, All-Mighty. [Hajj: Ayah: 73-74]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said:

It is obligated on a servant to pay attention to this parable with his heart and ponder upon it properly because it cuts off the desire of shirk. The gods worshipped by the idolaters cannot create even a fly, even if they all come to together to create it, then how about what is greater than it?  They are neither able to create a fly which is one of the weakest animals nor are they able to gain the upper hand against it to recover what it took away from them. There is nothing more disabled and feeble than them, so how can a sensible person deem it good to worship idols [or the things worshipped by the idolaters].

This Ayah nullifies shirk and shows the ignorance of its people. It is a testimony that Satan plays about with them more than kids play with a ball due to the fact that they assign Godhood to images and statues that are deprived of the ability to create the most insignificant creature of the True God, even if they [i.e. those statues and images] gathered and supported one another to do so, whereas Godhood necessitates having absolute power over all the existence, absolute knowledge of all sources of knowledge, having no need of all the creation, [whilst the creation is completely dependent] upon the Lord for their needs, for relief, [to remove their] distress and anxiety and [respond to their] invocations.  [Ref 1]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

Or have they taken (for worship) aliha (gods) from the earth who raise the dead? Had there been therein (in the heavens and the earth) gods besides Allah, then verily both would have been ruined. Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Throne, (High is He) above what they attribute to Him! He cannot be questioned as to what He does, while they will be questioned. Or have they taken for worship (other) aliha (gods) besides Him? Say: “Bring your proof:” This (the Qur’an) is the Reminder for those with me and the Reminder for those before me. But most of them know not the Truth, so they are averse.  And We did not send any Messenger before you (O Muhammad) but We inspired him (saying): La ilaha illa Ana [none has the right to be worshipped but I (Allah)], so worship Me (Alone and no one else).” [Surah Al-Anbiyaa. Aayaat 21-25]

Allaah [The Exalted] stated His disapproval of the polytheists [idolaters] – those who [worship things which they have taken as] gods in the earth, even though these [so called] gods are absolutely incapacitated and powerless. Neither are they are able to bring them back to life nor resurrect them, and this is further explained by the statement of Allaah:

وَاتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِهِ آلِهَةً لاَ يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْئًا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ وَلاَ يَمْلِكُونَ ِلأَنفُسِهِمْ ضَرًّا وَلاَ نَفْعًا وَلاَ يَمْلِكُونَ مَوْتًا وَلاَ حَيَاةً وَلاَ نُشُورًا

Yet they have taken besides Him other aliha (gods) that created nothing but are themselves created, and possess neither hurt nor benefit for themselves, and possess no power (of causing) death, nor (of giving) life, nor of raising the dead. [Surah Al-Furqaan. Aayah 3]

And Allaah [The Exalted] said:

وَاتَّخَذُوا مِنْ دُونِ اللَّهِ آلِهَةً لَعَلَّهُمْ يُنصَرُونَ

لاَ يَسْتَطِيعُونَ نَصْرَهُمْ وَهُمْ لَهُمْ جُندٌ مُحْضَرُونَ

And they have taken besides Allah aliha (gods), hoping that they might be helped (by those so-called gods). They cannot help them, but they will be brought forward as a troop against those who worshipped them (at the time of Reckoning). [Surah Yaaseen. Aayaat 74-75]

A polytheist [or idolater] worships a created thing that can neither benefit nor harm, and he abandons sincere worship to Allaah – The One Who is Perfect [i.e. the only possessor of Perfect Names and Attributes; free from all weaknesses, shortcomings and imperfections], and in His Hand is the absolute control over all benefit and harm. This shows that a polytheist [or idolater] is not blessed [with guidance], his ignorance is clearly established as well as the severity of his unjust behaviour towards Allaah; for indeed it is only befitting that there is only one [true] deity, just as there cannot be except one [true] Lord. And because of this, Allaah [The Exalted] said:

لَوْ كَانَ فِيهِمَا آلِهَةٌ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَا فَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَرْشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ

Had there been therein (in the heavens and the earth) gods besides Allaah, then verily both [i.e. the heavens and the earth] would have been ruined. Glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Throne, (High is He) above what they attribute to Him! [Surah Al-anbiyaa. Aayah 22]- Meaning: Both the heavens and the earth would have been ruined as well the creation in them.

The heavens and the earth – as one can see – are in a perfect state, intact and in perfect order. Neither is there any defect in them and obstacles [to its perfect order] nor conflict in its organisation. Therefore, this shows that the One who controls and regulates its affairs is One- its Lord is one and the deity [under whose control they are maintained] is One. If it were the case that the heavens and the earth have two [deities] that control and regulate its affairs- two lords or more, then its perfect order would have been ruined and its foundations would have been undermined. That is because they would have been obstacles and opponents to one another; so if one of them wishes to plan and administer something and the other one wishes that it should not take place, then it would be impossible for both their wishes to be fulfilled. [On the other hand], the fulfilment of the wishes of one of them would have shown that the other one is weak and unable do whatever he wants; and it is impossible that both of them will agree on everything.  Therefore, the wish of The Irresistible [i.e. Allaah- the only True Lord and besides Him every other deity is false]- is what will be fulfilled without anyone being able to prevent or repel it. And this is why Allaah [The Exalted] said:

مَا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ مِنْ وَلَدٍ وَمَا كَانَ مَعَهُ مِنْ إِلَهٍ إِذًا لَذَهَبَ كُلُّ إِلَهٍ بِمَا خَلَقَ وَلَعَلاَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ

No son (or offspring or children) did Allah beget, nor is there any ilah (god) along with Him; (if there had been many gods), behold, each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have tried to overcome others! Glorified be Allah above all that they attribute to Him! [Surah Al-Muminoon. Aayah 91] [Ref 2]

Islamic Insurgency – Reality or Myth? [A Brief Rebuttal Against The Associated Press]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

In an article of the Associated Press dated 12 Sep 2020, it was stated that the recent Fitna in Mali could be “taken advantage of by Mali’s growing Islamic insurgency”.

Firstly, “In the Qur’aan, there are many words that are utilised to rebut the words [or terms] that are in opposition to the call of the Messengers, the revelation that was revealed to them and the truth they brought”. [Ref 1]

“One of the general fundamental principles in Islaam is to know that words [or terms] are two types: those mentioned in the Qur’aan and authentic Prophetic tradition, therefore it is obligated on every believer to affirm them – affirm what Allaah and His Messenger have affirmed, and negate what Allaah and His Messenger have negated. The words affirmed by Allaah is truth and the ones Allaah negated are [negated] in truth, because indeed Allaah speaks the truth and guides to the straight path.

The words of the Sharee’ah are sanctified and it is from perfection in knowledge that one seeks after the [sound meanings] which the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasalam] intended by them, in order to affirm what he affirmed and negate the meanings he negated, because indeed it is obligated on us to believe and bear witness to everything he has stated and follow him in everything he has commanded.

As for the words [or terms] that are neither found in the Qur’am and authentic Prophetic tradition nor did the pious predecessors [i.e. the first three pious generations of Ilslaam] hold a consensus regarding whether they are negated or affirmed, then it is not incumbent on anyone to agree with the one who negates or affirms them until their intended meaning is explained. So, if their intended meaning agrees with the [revelation, commands, prohibitions etc] conveyed by the Messenger, they are affirmed; but if their intended meaning is in opposition to the [revelation, commands, prohibitions etc] conveyed by the Messenger, they are rejected”. [Ref 2]

Secondly, what is the meaning of Insurgency in the English language? It means “an occasion when a group of people attempt to take control of their country by force”.

This above definition of insurgency is completely in opposition to sound Islamic teachings, because such an action is referred to as Khurooj [rebellion or revolt against Muslim rulers]. Therefore, when it is the case that insurgency [khurooj – rebellion or revolt against Muslim rulers] is forbidden in Islaam, then how can anyone attribute it to Islaam?! The following links suffice as evidence for every seeker of truth:

Finally, Shaikhul Islaam ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] said.

“Ahlus Sunnah know that Allaah sent Muhammad [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] for the benefit of the slaves [i.e. mankind and Jinn] in this life and the next, and Allaah commands them with rectification and not corruption”.

It is very rare to find those who rebel against the ruler [bringing about any benefit]; rather the evil that results from their actions is greater than the good. This was the case of those who rebelled against Yazeed at Madeenah- the likes of Ibn Al-Ash’ath who rebelled against Abdul Malik in Iraq, Ibnul Muhallab who rebelled against his father at khurasaan, Abu Muslim who rebelled against the ruler at khurasaan and the likes of those who rebelled against Al-Mansoor at Madeenah and Basra.

Most of these people either gained the upper hand [for some time during the rebellion] or were subdued, then their authority ceased and they [brought about] no [fruitful] outcome; for indeed Abdullaah bin Ali and Abu Muslim killed many people and both were killed by Abu Jafar Al-Mansoor. As for the people Al-Hirra and Ibnul Ash-ath, Ibnul Muhallab and other than them, all of them – followers and those followed – were defeated, so they neither established a religious goal nor a worldly benefit, and Allaah does not command an affair that has no religious or worldly benefit. [Ref 3]

Therefore, it should be very clear to the Associated Press [may Allaah guide them] that insurgency is un-Islamic, so how can anyone continue attaching this word to Islaam?! Either such a person is ignorant – as is the case with those Muslims who know very little about Islaam and are blind followers of the terminologies and concepts of the deceitful writers – or such a person is one who has inherited one of the satanic strategies of king Louis IX. And what is this satanic strategy of King Louis IX?! In the year 1250 King Louis the Ninth was captured whilst on a crusade against the Muslims of Egypt. He was imprisoned and later released after paying a large ransom. However, whilst in prison he utilised his time to think about ways in which to plot against Islaam and the Muslims, so shaytaan inspired him with the following plots: Firstly: The war in the battlefield between the Christians of the west and the Muslims should be replaced with a war based on ideas and cultural supremacy. Secondly, prepare the West to corrupt the creed of the Muslims and distort the image of Islaam in the world. [Ref 4]

And Allaah knows best.

There’s Nothing More Harmful to Muslims’ Creed Than Ilmul Kalaam”

Shaikh Shasuddeen Al-Afghaanee [rahimahullaah] said:

When the enemies of Islaam saw that they were unable to do away with this religion, they implanted their disbelieving agents within Islam, who pretended to be Muslims in order to foment confusion, trials and tribulations; and in order to spread shirk by exaggerating the status of the pious people and exalting their graves with [beliefs and practices] that were not ordained by Allaah.

So, this Ummah was put to trial through the plots of the [atheist, heretic and hypocrite] Abdullaah Bin Saba, who claimed Uloohiyyah [i.e. the right to be worship] for Ali Ibn Abee Taalib [radiyallaahu- anhu]. Abdullaah Bin As-Sabah’s followers were known as the Saaba-iyyah, and later on they were known as the rawaafid (shiites), the ismaaliyyah (shittes), the nusayriyah (shiites) and other than them amongst the Baatiniyyah. They used to worship the graves and the dead, and they used to build places of worship and domed [shaped] shrines upon these graves. So, by way of this they revived the practices of the Yahood, the Nasaaraa and the idol worshippers, and thus the practices of the worshippers of graves in this Muslim Ummah manifested itself in actions that were carried out by the rawaafid (shiites).

Secondly: The books of Greek philosophy that contained the ideas of grave and idol worship were translated into Arabic, so many of those who attributed themselves to Islam busied themselves with these books,  such  as  the  likes  of  Al- Faraabee (1) Ibn Sinaa Al-Hanafi (2) Naseer At- Toosee the advocator of disbelief and shirk (3) and other than them amongst those who played tricks with Islaam, just as Paul played tricks with Christianity.

They were influenced by the ideas of the Greek Philosophers, such as the creed of grave worship, so they became callers to grave worship through Greek Philosophy. The practices of these people was rife within the ranks of the people of rhetoric amongst the Hanafi Maatooreediyyah (4) and the Ash-ariyyah Kullaabiyyah due to busying themselves with the Books of the Philosophers; so they were influenced by the creed of grave worship. They became callers to grave worship and callers to the creed of the Jahmiyyah at the same time, such as the likes of Taftaazaanee Al-Hanafi [The Philosopher of the Maatooreediyyah and Grave worshipers] and Jurjaanee Al-Hanafi [a caller to superstition]

[1] Al-Faraabee: Al-Faraabee said that Philosophy is more perfect than Prophet hood. Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) said about him: ‘’Misguided; a disbeliever’’ Ibn Sinaa adopted his books and ideas of disbelief. [For further details concerning Al- Faraabee, See Majmoo Al-Fataawaa 2/67—86] [Dar At-Ta’aarud 1/10] [Ighaathatul Luhfaan 2/372-373].

[2] Ibn Sinaa: Imaam Ibnu Salaah (rahimahullaah) said about him: ‘’He was a devil amongst the human devils.’’ [See Fataawaa Ibn Salaah 1/209] [Also see: ‘Ar-Radd Alal Mantaqiyyeen’ of Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah 278-279] [‘Ighaathatul Luhfaan’ of Imaam Ibnul Qayyim 2/373-380] [Bidaayah Wan-Nihaayah’ of Imaam Ibn Katheer 12/43]

[3] Naasir At-Toosee: He was a magician and a minister of the Tartars. He rejected the ‘resurrection’. For further details, see: As-Sawaa-iq Al-Mursalah of Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) 2/790; 3/1077-1078

[4]Followers of the Jahmi Abu Mansoor Al- Maatooreedi Al-Hanafi [For further details, see the Book of Shaikh Shamsud-deen al-Afghaanee titled: ‘Al-Maatooreediyyah’ 1/205—376] [d] Juhoodu Ulamaa Al-Hanafiyyah Fee Ibtaal Aqaa- id Al-Qubooriyyah Vol 1 pages 23-24

Thirdly: A people appeared among the Muslims manifesting asceticism. These people were more dangerous to the masses and more severe in misguidance. They were a people who appeared in the garb of the righteous,  with tearful eyes smeared with kohl, long flowing beards, elevated turbans, carrying rosary beads and pretending to be calling to the sunnah of the leader of Humankind  [Muhammad], whilst secretly practicing the disgraceful acts inherited from the false and vanished religions. And from their plots was that they used to mix manifest lies with the authentic explanations of the qur’aan and the authentic narrations in order to corrupt the clear proofs of the qur’aan and the sunnah. These deviant heretics were known as the holooliyyah, ittihaadiyyah Grave worshippers [ref 1], such as the likes of al-hallaaj (309ah), ibnul faarid (632ah), ibn arabi (638ah), ibn sina (669ah) etc  [Excerpt from Juhoodu Ulamaa Al-Hanafiyyah Fee Ibtaal Aqaa’id Al-Qubooriyyeen. Vol 1. Page 19-25]

Hulooliyyah and ittihaadiyyah:

Hulool- Lit. “Entering” – Divine indwelling.  The belief that Allaah dwells within a particular human.  i.e. That Allaah dwells in a particular Soofi shaykh,  a pious person, a Prophet – This belief is shared by Christians, certain Soofies, certain Shiites, Sikhs and others.

Wahdaatul Wujood – Lit – Unity of Existence.  The belief that all existence is a single existence and everything we see are only aspects of the Essence of Allaah.  This belief is also held by certain Soofies, Hindus and others.

Those who believe in hulool say that Allaah dwells and is incarnate in human beings, High is Allaah above and far removed from that. This was openly called to by some of the extreme Sufis, such as al-Husayn ibn Mansoor al-Hallaaj who was declared to be an unbeliever by the scholars. They ordered that he be executed and he was crucified in the year 309H. The following saying is attributed to him: “Glory to Him who manifested His human nature, Hiding the piercing brightness of His divinity: Till His creation saw Him openly, In the form of one eating and drinking” Attributed by al-Wakeel to the book at Tawaaseen of al Hallaaj (p. 130).

And his saying: “I am the one who loves and the One who is loved is me, We are two spirits who dwell in a single body. So when you see me you see Him, and when you see Him you see us both.”So al-Hallaaj was a believer in hulool and believed in the duality of the divine nature and that the Deity had both a divine and a human nature. Thus the divine becomes incarnate within the human so that the human spirit is the divine nature of the Deity and the body is its human form. Despite the fact that he was killed for his evil apostasy and although some of the Sufis declare themselves free of him, yet others count him as a Sufi, hold that his beliefs were correct, and write down his words. From them is Abdul-‘Abbaas ibn ‘Ataa al-Baghdaadee, Muhammad ibn Khaleef ash? Sheeraazee and Ibraheem an-Nasraabaadhee, as is reported by al-Khateeb al-Baghdaadee.

Wahdatul-Wujood, i.e. that all in existence is a single reality, and that everything we see is only aspects of the Essence of Allaah. The chief claimant of this belief was Ibn ‘Arabee al-Haatimee at-Taa’ee, who was buried in Damascus having died in the year 638H. He himself says about this belief in his book al-Fatoohaat-ul-Makkiyyah: “The slave is the Lord and the Lord is a slave, I wish that I knew which was the one required to carry out the required duties.  If I were to say the servant then that is true, or if I were to say the Lord, then how can that be required for Him.” Al-Fatoohaat-ul-Makkiyyah as it is attributed by Dr. Taqiyyuddeen al-Hilaalee in his book al-Hadiyyatul-Haadiyah (p.43).

He also says in al-Fatoohaat: “Those who worshipped the calf worshipped nothing except Allaah.” Quoted as Ibn ‘Arabee’s saying by Ibn Tayrniyyah in al-Fataawaa (vol.11), who attributes it to the book al-Fatoohaat. Ibn ‘Arabee is called ‘al-‘Aarif billaah’ (The one having great knowledge of Allaah) by the Sufis, and also ‘al-Qutubul Akbar’ (The great pivot), ‘al-Miskul-Adhfar’ (the sweetest smelling musk), “al-Kibreetul-Ahmar’ (the reddest brimstone), despite his belief in wahdatul-wujood and other calamitous sayings. Indeed he praised Fir’awn (Pharaoh) and declared that he died upon Eemaan! Furthermore he speaks against Haroon for his criticism of his peoples worship of the calf, thus directly opposing the text of the Qur’aan. He also held that the Christians were Unbelievers only because they made divinity particular to ‘Eesaa, whereas if they had made it general to all then they would not have been unbelievers. [Despite all the gross deviation of Ibn ‘Arabee and the fact that the scholars declared him to be an Unbeliever, yet he is revered by the Sufis and others who do not distinguish between the truth and falsehood, and those who turn away from accepting the truth even when it is as clear as the sun. But his books, which are filled with clear apostasy, such as al-Fatoohaatul-Makkiyyah and Fusoosul-Hikam are still circulated. He even has a tafseer, which he called at-Tafseerul-Baatin since he holds that there is an apparent and a hidden meaning for every Aayah, so the outer meaning is for the people of Ta’weel. From this group came Ibn Basheesh who said: “O Allaah rescue me from the mire of Tawheed, and drown me in the centre of the sea of unity, and mix me into the state of unity and oneness until I do not see, nor hear, nor sense except through it.”

Islamic Philosopher

Shaikh Muhammad Amaan Al-Jaami [rahimahullaah] said about the term Islamic Philosopher: This term is blindly utilised, therefore do not be deceived by it.  If you hear the term Islamic Philosopher, then know that there is no such thing as Islamic Philosopher. The well-known Raazi [rahimahullaah] was a doctor, but all of them [i.e. him and those like him] were not saved from Philosophy. However, he is not regarded to be from the senior Philosophers, rather he is regarded to be from the scholars of Ilmul Kalaam [i.e. those who sought to establish the Islamic creed based on logical and intellectual arguments and not simply restricting themselves to the Qur’aan, the authentic Sunnah and the understanding of the companions] and regreted following this path at the end of his life. And even though his repentance is not explicit, however he was from those who expressed regret and regret is a type of repentance.

Objectivity! [A Word Utilised In The Name of Progress By Proponents of Kufr Akbar and Deceivers Seeking to Justify Haraam]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

What is the meaning of the word ‘Objectivity’ in the English language?

It means “the fact of being based on facts and not influenced by personal beliefs or feelings”.

This above definition is utilised for both truth and falsehood by the militant secularists and some of the misguided modernists; therefore the Muslim educator should be armed with basic principles to guide his pupils and students. Indeed, the objectivity promoted by the militant secularists is nothing else but the one inherited from Iblees – to question and rebel against the command of his Lord.

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said:

“It has been stated that the reason behind Iblees being distanced [from the mercy of Allaah] is because of false interpretation, for indeed he made an analogy with the text and gave precedence to the analogy over the text. He made a false interpretation about himself and that  [his so called] rational analogy takes precedence over the command to prostrate. [Allaah informed us that Iblees said]: [أنا خير منه – I am better than him [i.e. Aadam], and that a virtuous one cannot humble himself to one who has been given virtue over him; therefore he quickly said [as Allaah informed us that he said]: [خلقتني من نار وخلقته من طين – You created me from fire, and him you created from clay]. Therefore, he thought that this rational analogy that resembles truth- even though it is false – will benefit him in his false interpretation. So, that which happened him happened and he became the leader of everyone- until the day of judgement- who makes a false interpretation of the texts of the revelation. How many a person in this world are followers of this cursed leader! And if you contemplate on the majority of those doubts that are made to resemble the truth by the false interpreters of the texts and seeking to nullify them, you will find that it is similar to the doubts of Iblees which he seeks to portray as truth. So, a person says: If the intellect and the text oppose each other, then give precedence to the intellect. This is where this principle is derived from and he [i.e. the proponent of this affair] use it as a fundamental principle through which he rejects those texts of the revelation which he claims are in opposition to the intellect, just as his leader Iblees claimed that a [so called] rational proof opposed the command to make sujood. This doubt came to him due to pride which prevented him from submitting to the clear texts of the revelation. Likewise, you find every false disputer against the texts of the revelation does so due to pride. Allaah [The Exalted] said: [إِنَّ الَّذِينَ يُجَادِلُونَ فِي آيَاتِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ سُلْطَانٍ أَتَاهُمْ ۙ إِن فِي صُدُورِهِمْ إِلَّا كِبْرٌ مَّا هُم بِبَالِغِيهِ ۚ فَاسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهُ هُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ – Verily, those who dispute about the Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of Allah, without any authority having come to them, there is nothing else in their breasts except pride [to accept you (Muhammad ) as a Messenger of Allah and to obey you]. They will never have it (i.e. Prophethood which Allah has bestowed upon you). So seek refuge in Allah (O Muhammad from the arrogants). Verily, it is He Who is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer]. [Surah Ghaafir. Aayah 56] [Ref 1]

The militant secularist utter this word ‘Objectivity’ whose apparent meaning can be both praiseworthy and unpraiseworthy, and then utilise it to promote their Kufr Akbar and Shirk Akbar – to question Allaah; but at the same time making it seem as if what they pursue under the guise of this word is praiseworthy, such as advancement, progress etc. This is another inheritance of theirs from the people of misguidance of old. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

وَلَا تَلْبِسُوا الْحَقَّ بِالْبَاطِلِ وَتَكْتُمُوا الْحَقَّ وَأَنتُمْ تَعْلَمُونَ

And mix not truth with falsehood, nor conceal the truth while you know (the truth). [2:42]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) said: Allaah forbade us from mixing truth with falsehood, and thus leading to concealment of the truth. Mixing truth with false is by mixing the two until one of them is confused for the other. This is forgery and deceit by way of which what is made apparent is the opposite of what it is in reality. Likewise, when truth is confounded with falsehood, the culprit manifests falsehood in the image of truth and speaks with a statement that carries two meanings- a correct meaning and false meaning, so the listener is under the illusion that the speaker intends the correct meaning, whilst he intends the corrupt meaning. [Ref 2]

And do not be duped when they claim to be the facilitators of opportunity for debate and discussion, rather ask yourself, “Who finally decides which view or idea is to be given precedence?” Indeed, the final judges in the affair are none but the self-appointed possessors of superior intelligence, even though they have no guidance from Allaah. Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have mercy upon him] said, “And even though there is something in the paths of analogical reasoning and reflection that will lead to knowledge, however sometimes it cannot give detail explanation in a dispute between the people of the earth due to the minute details and ambiguities [in that dispute], and at other times due to the fact the people differ when prioritising necessities. Therefore, due to this Allaah [The Most High] commanded [us] to return to the revelation in times of dispute. Allaah [The Most High] said:

[ كَانَ ٱلنَّاسُ أُمَّةً۬ وَٲحِدَةً۬ فَبَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِيِّـۧنَ مُبَشِّرِينَ وَمُنذِرِينَ وَأَنزَلَ مَعَهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ لِيَحۡكُمَ بَيۡنَ ٱلنَّاسِ فِيمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُواْ فِيهِ‌ۚ -Mankind were one community (i.e. upon Tawheed and Allaah’s Sharee’ah) and Allah sent Prophets with glad tidings and warnings, and with them He sent the Scripture in truth to judge between people in matters wherein they differed]. [Surah Al-Baqarah’ Aayah 213]

Therefore, Allaah [The Most High] designated the revealed Books [i.e. the Qur’aan being the final of them] as the judge between the people in matters wherein they differ”. [Ref 3]

Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al-Badr [may Allaah preserve him] said,

“If you say that the intellect is to be given precedence over the revelation, then which intellect should we follow? Are the intellects of the people combined in the intellect of one man or do they differ? There are intellects of the philosophers, the atheists, the heretics, the people of evil desires and those who confound truth with falsehood; and due to this one of the pious predecessors said, ‘Had the desires been one, it would have been considered to be the [basis of] truth’; therefore, we say, ‘Had the intellects been one, it would have been considered to be the [basis of] truth’”. [Ref 4]

Imaam Ash’Shaatibee [rahimahullaah] said,

“Know that Allaah has established this sharee’ah as a proof against the creation [i.e. mankind and jinn] – the old and young alike; the obedient and the disobedient; the righteous and the wicked. He did not specify the proof against anyone in exclusion of another one. Also all the other revealed laws were established as proof against all the other nations to whom they were revealed. The Sharee’ah is the judge- restrictedly and unrestrictedly; the [source of judgement] and the judge on all those who have reached the age of responsibility. It is the path attached to [what Allaah has ordained] and the Greatest Guide. And have you not seen the statement of Allaah [The Most High]?! [وَكَذَٲلِكَ أَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡكَ رُوحً۬ا مِّنۡ أَمۡرِنَا‌ۚ مَا كُنتَ تَدۡرِى مَا ٱلۡكِتَـٰبُ وَلَا ٱلۡإِيمَـٰنُ وَلَـٰكِن جَعَلۡنَـٰهُ نُورً۬ا نَّہۡدِى بِهِۦ مَن نَّشَآءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا‌ۚ وَإِنَّكَ لَتَہۡدِىٓ إِلَىٰ صِرَٲطٍ۬ مُّسۡتَقِيمٍ۬ – And thus We have sent to you (O Muhammad) Ruhan (an Inspiration, and a Mercy) of Our Command. You knew not what is the Book, nor what is Faith? But We have made it (this Qur’an) a light wherewith We guide whosoever of Our slaves We will. And verily, you (O Muhammad) are indeed guiding (mankind) to the Straight Path (i.e. Allah’s religion of Islamic Monotheism)].’’ [Soorah Ash-Shooraa. Ayah: 52]

He [alayhis salaatu wassalaam] was the first to be guided to the Book and Eemaan, and then those who followed him. The Book is the Guide and also the Sunnah which was sent down upon him explains that guidance [i.e. the Sunnah and the Qur’aan explain each other]. All the creation [i.e. mankind and Jinn] are guided by it. Therefore, when this is the case, the Sharee’ah is worthy of being a decisive proof against them [i.e. against mankind and Jinn] and a beacon by way of which they are guided to the truth. Their nobility is established in accordance with how far they embrace its rulings- through acting upon them in speech, belief and deeds– and not merely due to the level of their intellects or their nobility amongst their people. That is because Allaah [The Most High] has determined nobility through Taqwa and no other than it. Allaah [The Most High] said: [إِنَّ أَڪۡرَمَكُمۡ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ أَتۡقَٮٰكُمۡ‌ۚ- Verily, the most honourable of you with Allah is that (believer) who has At-Taqwa] [49:13]

The one who is the firmest [in his  or her] adherence to the Sharee’ah is more worthy of honour and nobility, but it is not possible for the one below this [i.e. the one whose adherence to the Sharee’ah is below that of the one who is firmest in adhering to it] to reach the highest level of honour based on his adherence to the Sharee’ah. Therefore, honour is [measured] in accordance with one’s [level of adherence] to the Sharee’ah”. [Ref 5]

Therefore, it is not befitting Muslim educators to blindly follow the militant secularists and other enemies of the Messengers – parroting everything they hear in the name of education and vocabulary building, whilst discussing subject matters in which haqq and baatil must be distinguished.

The basis of a person’s Islaam is to testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad [sallal-laahu-alayhi- wasallam] is the Messenger of Allaah, to believe in Allaah, declare that Allaah is One without partner, obey Allaah’s commands, keep away from what Allaah has forbidden and single out Allaah in worship. And safeguarding this path [necessitates] the prohibition of every expression that contains Shirk Billaah [i.e. ascribing partners to Allaah] or Kufr, or will lead to one of the two. [Ref 6]  In the Qur’aan, there are many words that are utilised to rebut the words [or terms] that are in opposition to the call of the Messengers, the revelation that was revealed to them and the truth they brought. [Ref 7]

One of the general fundamental principles [in Islaam] is to know that words [or terms] are two types: Words that are mentioned in the Qur’aan and [authentic] Sunnah, therefore, it is obligated on every believer to affirm them – affirm what Allaah and His Messenger have affirmed, and negate what Allaah and His Messenger have negated. The words [or terms] affirmed by Allaah is truth and the ones Allaah negated are [negated] in truth, for indeed Allaah speaks the truth and guides to the straight path. The words [or terms] of the Sharee’ah are sanctified, and it is from perfection in knowledge that one seeks after the [sound meanings] which the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasalam] intended by them, in order to affirm what he affirmed and negate the meanings he negated; for indeed it is obligated on us to believe and bear witness to everything he has stated and follow him in everything he has commanded.

As for the words [or terms] that are neither found in the Qur’aan and [authentic] Sunnah, nor did the Salaf hold a consensus regarding whether they are negated or affirmed, then it is not incumbent on anyone to agree with the one who negates them or affirms them until its intended meaning is explained. So, if its intended meaning agrees with the [revelation, commands, prohibitions etc] conveyed by the Messenger, it is affirmed; but if its intended meaning is in opposition to the [revelation, commands, prohibitions etc] conveyed by the Messenger, it is rejected. [Ref 8]

The Heart’s Attachment to Other Than Allaah, Indecency And Injustice – [The Basis of All Sinful Behaviour]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said:

The basis of all sins – major and minor – are three: the heart’s attachment to other than Allaah, going along with the intense strength of one’s anger and the intense urge of one’s desires. These three affairs constitute shirk, injustice and indecency. Shirk and invoking other than Allaah is the ultimate affair related to the heart’s attachment to other than Allaah, murder is the ultimate affair related to going along with one’s intense anger and fornication is the ultimate affair related to going along with the intense urge of one’s desires. And because this Allaah mentioned the three together in the [following] Aayah:

وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَدۡعُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ وَلَا يَقۡتُلُونَ ٱلنَّفۡسَ ٱلَّتِى حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَلَا يَزۡنُونَ

And those who invoke not any other ilah (god) along with Allah, nor kill such life as Allah has forbidden, except for just cause, nor commit illegal sexual intercourse.

[Surah Al-Furqaan. Aayah 68]

These three affairs invite to one another – Shirk inevitably leads to injustice and indecency, just as Tawheed [sound Islamic Monotheism] and Ikhlaas [sincerity] turns a person away from them. Allaah [The Exalted] stated [about Prophet Yusuf (alayhis salaam)]:

ڪَذَٲلِكَ لِنَصۡرِفَ عَنۡهُ ٱلسُّوٓءَ وَٱلۡفَحۡشَآءَ‌ۚ إِنَّهُ ۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِينَ

Thus it was, that We might turn away from him evil and indecency. Surely, he was one of Our chosen, guided slaves. [Surah Yusuf. Aayah 24] – Meaning, turned him away from infatuation and illegal sexual intercourse.

Likewise, injustice inevitably leads to Shirk and indecency, because Shirk is the greatest injustice,  just as Tawheed is the greatest justice. Justice is a companion of Tawheed and injustice is a companion of Shirk, and this is why Allaah mentioned both together.

As for Tawheed and justice, Allaah said:

شَهِدَ ٱللَّهُ أَنَّهُ ۥ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰٓٮِٕكَةُ وَأُوْلُواْ ٱلۡعِلۡمِ قَآٮِٕمَۢا بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ

Allah bears witness that Laa ilaaha illaa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), and the angels, and those having knowledge (also give this witness); (He is always) maintaining His creation in Justice. [Surah Aal Imraan. Aayah 18]

As for injustice and Shirk, Allaah said:

إِنَّ ٱلشِّرۡكَ لَظُلۡمٌ عَظِيمٌ۬

Verily, Shirk is great injustice.

[Surah Luqmaan. Aayah 13]

Indecency leads to Shirk and Injustice, especially when there is a strong desire which cannot be reached except through some type of injustice, such as seeking help through magic and shaytaan. And indeed Allaah mentioned both fornication and Shirk together in the Aayah:

ٱلزَّانِى لَا يَنكِحُ إِلَّا زَانِيَةً أَوۡ مُشۡرِكَةً۬ وَٱلزَّانِيَةُ لَا يَنكِحُهَآ إِلَّا زَانٍ أَوۡ مُشۡرِكٌ۬‌ۚ وَحُرِّمَ ذَٲلِكَ عَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ

The adulterer marries not but an adulteress, or a female polytheist and the adulteress none marries her except an adulterer or a male polytheist [and that means that the man who agrees to marry (have a sexual relation with) a female polytheist, pagan or idolatress) or a prostitute, then surely he is either an adulterer, or a polytheist)]. And the woman who agrees to marry (have a sexual relation with) a male polytheist or an adulterer, then she is either a prostitute or a female polytheist)]. Such a thing is forbidden to the believers [of Islamic Monotheism]. [Surah An-Noor. Aayah 3]

These three affairs [i.e. Shirk, Indecency and Injustice] can either be the cause of one another or inevitably lead to one another. And this is why whenever Tawheed in the heart is weaker and the Shirk in it is greater, it commits more indecency, becomes stronger in its attachment to images and infatuated with them. And what is similar to this is the statement of Allaah:

So whatever you have been given is but a passing enjoyment for this worldly life, but that which is with Allah (Paradise) is better and more lasting for those who believe (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism) and put their trust in their Lord (concerning all of their affairs). And those who avoid the greater sins and indecency, and when they are angry, they forgive.

[Surah Ash-Shooraa. Aayaat 36-37]

Allaah informed us that  what He has with Him is better for the one who believes in Him and relies upon him, and that is Tawheed.

Then Allaah said:

And those who avoid the greater sins and indecency – Meaning, avoid the intense urge towards lowly desires.

Then Allaah said:

And when they are angry, they pardon.

This opposes the intense strength of anger; so Allaah mentioned  Tawheed, pardon and justice together, and they are that which gathers every good.

Muslim Broadcasters And Journalists: Do Not Join Those Who Conceal, Distort, Misconstrue The Six Levels of Comprehension And Slander When Reporting About Disease etc

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

Neither Conceal Nor Distort!

Allaah [The Most High] said:

O you who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah; even though it be against yourselves, or your parents, or your kin, be he rich or poor, Allah is a Better Protector to both (than you). So follow not the lusts (of your hearts), lest you may avoid justice, and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do. [Surah An-Nisaa. Ayah 135]

[وَإِن تَلۡوُ ۥۤاْ أَوۡ تُعۡرِضُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرً۬ا – and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do]- Meaning: Allaah [Glorified be He and Free is He from all imperfections] mentions two reasons that will inevitably lead to concealment of truth:

The first of them is distortion and the second is to turn away from giving truthful witness, because when a proof that supports the truth is manifested and the one who wants to repel it finds no way of doing so, he refrains from mentioning it and thus becomes a silent devil, and sometimes he distorts it. Distortion is of two types: Distorting words and distorting meanings. Distorting words is when one utters a word in a context in which it does not establish the truth – either adding to the word or omitting something from it, or substituting it with something else- to the extent that the listener is made to believe something, whilst something else is intended by it, just as the Yahood  [i.e. those Yahood who disbelieved in the Prophet and hated him] used to distort words when giving Salaam to the Prophet [i.e. saying As-Saamu Alayka (death be upon you), instead of saying Assalaamu alaykum)]. This is one type of distortion.

The second type of distortion is related to meanings – distorting the wording- giving it an interpretation that is not intended by the one who uttered it and pretending not to know its unintended meaning or dropping other meanings intended by it. Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَإِن تَلۡوُ ۥۤاْ أَوۡ تُعۡرِضُواْ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرً۬ا – and if you distort your witness or refuse to give it, verily, Allah is Ever Well-Acquainted with what you do]. [Ref 1]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said:

Beware of kadhib [lying], for indeed it corrupts one’s ability to illustrate information based on what it should be in reality; corrupts one’s ability to illustrate information and his ability to teach the people. The liar portrays what is non-existent as something present and what is present as something non-existent. He portrays truth as something false and falsehood as something true; portrays good as evil and evil as good, so this corrupts his conception and knowledge, which then becomes a punishment upon him. Then he portrays what is not true to the one deceived by him – the one inclined towards him- and thus corrupts his conception and knowledge. The soul of the liar turns away from the existing reality -inclined towards what is non-existent and gives preference to falsehood.

And when his conception and knowledge is corrupted, which is the basis of every wilful chosen deed, his deeds become corrupt and are marked by lies, and thus those deeds would emanate from him just as lies emanate from the tongue. He neither benefits from his tongue nor his deeds. This is why lying is the basis [or foundation] of immorality, just as the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, “Indeed lies lead to immorality [or wickedness] and indeed immorality [or wickedness] leads to the fire. [Bukhaari 2606/2607]

Firstly, lies emerges from the heart and then on the tongue, so it corrupts it; then it transfers to the limbs and corrupts its actions, just as it corrupts the statements of the tongue. So, it prevails over his statements, deeds and state of affairs; corruption becomes deeply rooted in him and its disease leads to destruction if Allaah does not grant him cure with the medication of truthfulness, which uproots it [i.e. lying] from its original source. This is why the basis [or foundation] of all the deeds of the hearts is based on truthfulness, and the basis of their opposites – such as showing off, self-amazement, pride, being glad [with ungratefulness to Allaah’s Favours], conceitedness, boastfulness, insolence, weakness, laziness, cowardice,  disgrace and other than them- is lies. The origin of every righteous deed- whether carried out in private or public- is based on truthfulness; and the origin of every corrupt deed – whether carried out in private or public- is lies.

Allaah punishes the liar by preventing him from those affairs that will bring him well-being and benefit, and He rewards the truthful one by granting him the ability to attain the beneficial affairs related to the worldly life and afterlife. There is nothing similar to truthfulness with regards to the manner in which it brings about the affairs of well-being in this life and the next, and there is nothing similar to lying with regards to the manner in which it corrupts and harms one’s worldly affairs and the afterlife.

[Allaah (The Most High) said]:

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ وَكُونُوا مَعَ الصَّادِقِينَ

O you who believe! Be afraid of Allah, and be with those who are true (in words and deeds) [9:119]

This is a Day on which the truthful will profit from their truth. [5:119]

And when the matter (preparation for Jihad) is resolved on, then if they had been true to Allah, it would have been better for them. [47:21]

And those who made excuses from the Bedouins came (to you, O Prophet) asking your permission to exempt them (from the battle), and those who had lied to Allah and His Messenger sat at home (without asking the permission for it); a painful torment will seize those of them who disbelieve. [9:90] [Ref 2]

Do Not Misconstrue The Six Levels of Comprehension

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh al-Uthaymeen [rahimahullaah] said:

Knowledge (Ilm) is to comprehend the reality of something as it truly is, with certainty.

The levels of comprehension are six:

[Al ‘Ilm – Knowledge], which is to comprehend the reality of something as it truly is, with certainty.

[Al Jahlul Baseet- slight ignorance], which is absence of full comprehension.

[Al Jahlul Murakkab-, Aggravated/compounded ignorance], which is to comprehend something in a way contrary to its true reality.

[Al Wahm – Delusion], which is to think that one comprehends something despite the presence of that which should cause you to realize that you are incorrect.

[Ash Shakk- Doubt], which is to think that you comprehend something, yet you are aware of something contrary to it which you think has the same possibility of being the truth.

[Dhann – Preponderant belief], which is comprehension of something, despite the presence of something which is contrary to it, but which is less likely to be true.

Do Not Slander

The Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said;

“The worst form of usury is the violation of someone’s honour”

Verily, the worst act of usury is to attack the honour of a Muslim without a just cause. [Abu Daawud 4876]

Verily, the worst act of usury is to attack the reputation of a Muslim: Meaning, the greater in evil and the more severely prohibited is to unleash the tongue against the honour of a Muslim by belittling him, behaving arrogantly towards him and speaking ill against him by way of slander or verbal abuse. This becomes more severe in prohibition because honour is more noble than one’s self and wealth.

Without a just cause- Meaning, this shows that there are cases in which one is allowed to speak about someone, saying, “Such and such is an oppressor or transgressor”, or making a mention of an innovator and an open sinner with the intention to issue warning. [Ref 4] This [i.e. violating the honour of a Muslim] has been referred to as usury because the transgressor establishes his honour and then goes beyond it, so it is as if he has added an increase that encroaches the boundaries in relation to the honour of a Muslim which is more valuable than his wealth.  Al-Qaadhee [rahimahullaah] said, “Attacking a Muslim’s honour is to deal with him more than what he deserves of that which is to be said about him, or more than what is allowed to be said about him, and this is why it is likened to usury and considered one of its types; then it is considered worse because it contains more harm and severer in corruption”. [Ref 5]

Second, Third, Fourth or Even Hundredth Wave of XYZ Illness or Disease! [Do Not Allow a Mulhid Fear-monger to Afflict You With Fear And Anxiety]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

State of The Mulhid Fear-monger!

Allaah [The Exalted] said: [سَنُلۡقِى فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ ٱلرُّعۡبَ بِمَآ أَشۡرَڪُواْ بِٱللَّهِ مَا لَمۡ يُنَزِّلۡ بِهِۦ سُلۡطَـٰنً۬ا‌ۖ – We shall cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve, because they ascribe partners to Allaah, for which He had sent no authority]. [Surah Aal Imraan. Aayah 151]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said: The level of Shirk determines the level of fear, and the one who ascribes a partner to Allaah has the greatest fear and terror. Those who believe and do not mix their belief with Shirk have safety, guidance and success and the one who ascribes a partner to Allaah has fear, misguidance and wretchedness. [Iddat As-Saabireen 166-167. Slightly paraphrased]

Imaam As-Sadi [rahimahullaah] said that this fear is due to that which they took as partners to Allaah, such as those things they set up as equals to Allaah and the idols based on their vain desires and corrupt goals, for which they neither have proof nor evidence, and thus they cut themselves off the Protection of The One and Only True Deity, The Most Merciful.

[Tafseer As-Sadi. Slightly paraphrased]

Allaah Is The One Who Cures All Ailments

Allaah [The Most High] stated that Ibraaheem [alayhis salaam] said: [وَإِذَا مَرِضۡتُ فَهُوَ يَشۡفِينِ – And when I am ill, it is He [Allaah] Who cures me]. [Surah Ash-Shu’araa. Aayah 80] – Meaning: When I become sick, none is able to heal me, except Allaah, by way of the means that may lead to recovery [i.e. by His Will]. [Tafseer Ibn Katheer]

Abdullah Ibn Mas’ood [radiyallaahu-ahu] said, “Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam said, ‘Allaah did not send down any disease except that he also sent its cure.” In another narration, the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, ‘One who has knowledge of it knows it, and one ignorant of it is ignorant’”. [Sunan Ibn Mājah 3438 and declared authentic by Imaam Albaanee in Sisilah As-Saheehah 4/208]

The Messenger [sallal laahu aalayhi wasallam] said, “Treat your sick by giving Sadaqah”. [Hadeeth declared Hasan by Imaam Albaani [rahimahullaah] in Saheeh Al-Jaami As-Sagheer Wa Ziyaadah 3358]

AbuBakr Al-Khubaaziy [rahimahullaah] said, “I had a very dangerous illness, so a neighbour of mine saw me and said, ‘Act upon the statement of Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam], ‘Treat your sick by giving Sadaqah’. It was summertime, so I bought many watermelons and gathered a group of poor people and children. They ate and then supplicated for me to be cured. By Allaah! I did not reach the next morning except that Allaah granted me wellbeing’”. [Siyar A’laam An-Nubulaa 18/44]

The State of Affairs Alternate By The Will of Allaah

Abu Moosaa Al-Ash’aree (radiyallaahu-anhu) said, “The Messenger of Allaah (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) said to me, ‘O Abdullaah Bin Qais! Shall I tell you a word which is one of the treasures of Paradise? It is [لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ  – (i.e. There is neither might nor power (to alternate from one state to another nor move from one thing to another) except by Allaah’s Will]. [Bukhaari 6384 & Muslim 2704]

Al-Harwee [rahimahullaah] said that Abu Haytham [rahimahullaah] said, “Al-Hawl [i.e. might] is Al-Haraka [movement], meaning, there is no movement nor ability except by the Will of Allaah”. And it is said, “There is no might to repel evil nor any power to reach good except by the Will of Allaah”. [Sharh Saheeh Muslim 4/87]

The Attitude of a Believer In all Circumstances

Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq al-Badr [hafidhahullaah] said:

Belief In Qadr – Allaah’s Divine Decree:

A servant [i.e. a Mulsim] is not afflicted by a calamity except that which Allaah has written and decreed. Allaah said: [قُل لَّن يُصِيبَنَآ إِلَّا مَا ڪَتَبَ ٱللَّهُ لَنَا هُوَ مَوۡلَٮٰنَا‌ۚ وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَلۡيَتَوَڪَّلِ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ  – Say: “Nothing shall ever happen to us except what Allah has ordained for us. He is our Maula (Lord, Helper and Protector).” And in Allah let the believers put their trust]. [Surah At-tawbah. Aayah 51]

Nothing afflicts the servant except that which Allaah has written for him and this is why the servant is greatly in need – in this particular affair and every other affair – to renew his belief in Allaah’s Divine Will and Decree.

Firm Belief That Only Allaah Can Remove Harm:

The believer should know that removal of harm is only in the hand of Allaah. Harm cannot be removed except by Allaah, and none can repel calamity except him. Allaah [The Most High] said: [أَمَّن يُجِيبُ ٱلۡمُضۡطَرَّ إِذَا دَعَاهُ وَيَكۡشِفُ ٱلسُّوٓءَ وَيَجۡعَلُڪُمۡ خُلَفَآءَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ‌ۗ أَءِلَـٰهٌ۬ مَّعَ ٱللَّهِ‌ۚ – Is not He (better than your gods) Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls Him, and Who removes the evil, and makes you inheritors of the earth, generations after generations. Is there any true (god) besides Allah? [Surah An-Naml. Aayah 62]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [قُلِ ٱدۡعُواْ ٱلَّذِينَ زَعَمۡتُم مِّن دُونِهِۦ فَلَا يَمۡلِكُونَ كَشۡفَ ٱلضُّرِّ عَنكُمۡ وَلَا تَحۡوِيلاً – Say (O Muhammad): “Call unto those besides Him whom you pretend [to be gods like angels, Iesa (Jesus), ‘Uzair (Ezra), etc.]. They have neither the power to remove the adversity from you nor even to shift it from you to another person.”] [Surah Al-Israa. Aayah 56]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [ قُلۡ أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِنۡ أَرَادَنِىَ ٱللَّهُ بِضُرٍّ هَلۡ هُنَّ كَـٰشِفَـٰتُ ضُرِّهِۦۤ أَوۡ أَرَادَنِى بِرَحۡمَةٍ هَلۡ هُنَّ مُمۡسِكَـٰتُ رَحۡمَتِهِ – Say: “Tell me then, the things that you invoke besides Allah, if Allah intended some harm for me, could they remove His harm, or if He (Allah) intended some mercy for me, could they withhold His Mercy?] [Surah Az-Zumar. Aayah 38]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَإِن يَمۡسَسۡكَ ٱللَّهُ بِضُرٍّ۬ فَلَا ڪَاشِفَ لَهُ ۥۤ إِلَّا هُوَ‌ۖ وَإِن يَمۡسَسۡكَ بِخَيۡرٍ۬ فَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىۡءٍ۬ قَدِيرٌ۬ – And if Allah touches you with harm, none can remove it but He, and if He touches you with good, then He is Able to do all things]. [Surah Al-An’aam. Aayah 17]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَإِنْ يَمْسَسْكَ اللَّهُ بِضُرٍّ فَلَا كَاشِفَ لَهُ إِلَّا هُوَ وَإِنْ يُرِدْكَ بِخَيْرٍ فَلَا رَادَّ لِفَضْلِهِ يُصِيبُ بِهِ مَنْ يَشَاءُ مِنْ عِبَادِهِ وَهُوَ الْغَفُورُ الرَّحِيمُ – And if Allah touches you with hurt, there is none who can remove it but He; and if He intends any good for you, there is none who can repel His Favour which He causes it to reach whomsoever of His slaves He will. And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful]. [Surah Yunus. Aayah 107]

Allaah is the one who will remove harm and calamity, hardship etc

Reliance upon Allaah

Reliance upon Allaah, surrendering one’s affairs to Him- and truthfully turning to Him, because whoever relies on Allaah, Allaah will suffice him. Allaah said: [أَلَيۡسَ ٱللَّهُ بِكَافٍ عَبۡدَهُ – Is not Allah Sufficient for His slave?] [Surah Az-Zumar. Aayah 36]

Allaah said [The Most High] said: [وَمَن يَتَوَكَّلۡ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ فَهُوَ حَسۡبُهُ ۥۤ‌ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بَـٰلِغُ أَمۡرِهِۦ‌ۚ قَدۡ جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ لِكُلِّ شَىۡءٍ۬ قَدۡرً۬ا – And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things]. [Surah At-talaaq. Aayah 3]

Allaah appointed a term for everything- a specific time; therefore, O you who relies upon Allaah! Neither be slow to act nor be hasty [i.e. rely upon Allaah now, hope for relief and do not be frustrated due to being hasty].

Supplication:

Supplication is the key to every good, relief from every distress, safety from every fear, the weapon of the believer and benefits in repelling calamity- a mighty benefit; rather supplication is the enemy of calamity. It is obligated on the servant to seek shelter [or shield himself] through supplication, have great hope and continuously asking [Allaah]. Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَقَالَ رَبُّڪُمُ ٱدۡعُونِىٓ أَسۡتَجِبۡ لَكُمۡۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ عَنۡ عِبَادَتِى سَيَدۡخُلُونَ جَهَنَّمَ دَاخِرِينَ – And your Lord said: “Invoke Me, [i.e. believe in My Oneness (Islamic Monotheism)] (and ask Me for anything) I will respond to your (invocation). Verily! Those who scorn My worship [i.e. do not invoke Me, and do not believe in My Oneness, (Islamic Monotheism)] they will surely enter Hell in humiliation!”] [Surah Ghaafir. Aayah 60]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [ وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِى عَنِّى فَإِنِّى قَرِيبٌ‌ۖ أُجِيبُ دَعۡوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ‌ۖ فَلۡيَسۡتَجِيبُواْ لِى وَلۡيُؤۡمِنُواْ بِى لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡشُدُونَ – And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright]. [Surah Al-Baqarah. Aayah 186]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

Invoke your Lord with humility and in secret. He likes not the aggressors. And do not do mischief on the earth, after it has been set in order, and invoke Him with fear and hope; Surely, Allah’s Mercy is (ever) near unto the good doers. [Surah Al-A’raaf. Aayaat 55-56]

The Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, “Supplicate to Allaah whilst having certainty that you’ll be responded to”. The Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said: “Supplication benefits in that which has occurred and in that which has not occurred, so upon you is to supplicate”- Meaning: Supplication removes it [i.e. when the calamity occurs] and repels it [i.e. if it has not occurred yet].

And one of those beneficial supplication in this subject matter is that which has been reported in Abu Dawud from Anas [radiyallaahu-anhu] who said that the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] used to supplicate saying: [ اللَّهمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوُذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْبرَصِ، وَالجُنُونِ، والجُذَامِ، وسّيءِ الأَسْقامِ – O Allah! I seek refuge in You from leucoderma , insanity, leprosy and evil diseases]

The Worldly Life Is a Place of Trial and Test:

To know with certainty – in this subject matter of ours- that this Dunyaa is a place of trial and test. Allaah [The Most High] said:[ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ لِيَبۡلُوَكُمۡ أَيُّكُمۡ أَحۡسَنُ عَمَلاً۬‌ۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡغَفُورُ  – He is the One] Who has created death and life, that He may test you which of you is best in deed. And He is the All-Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving [Surah Al-Mulk. Aayah 2]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَڪُمۡ خَلَـٰٓٮِٕفَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَرَفَعَ بَعۡضَكُمۡ فَوۡقَ بَعۡضٍ۬ دَرَجَـٰتٍ۬ لِّيَبۡلُوَكُمۡ فِى مَآ ءَاتَٮٰكُمۡ‌ۗ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ سَرِيعُ ٱلۡعِقَابِ وَإِنَّهُ ۥ لَغَفُورٌ۬ رَّحِيمُۢ – And it is He Who has made you generations coming after generations, replacing each other on the earth. And He has raised you in ranks, some above others that He may try you in that which He has bestowed on you. Surely your Lord is Swift in retribution, and certainly He is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful]. [Surah Al-An’aam. Aayah 165]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٲتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍ۬ وَڪَانَ عَرۡشُهُ ۥ عَلَى ٱلۡمَآءِ لِيَبۡلُوَڪُمۡ أَيُّكُمۡ أَحۡسَنُ عَمَلاً۬‌ۗ – And He it is Who has created the heavens and the earth in six Days and His Throne was on the water, that He might try you, which of you is the best in deeds]. [Surah Hud. Aayah 7]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

وَنَبۡلُوكُم بِٱلشَّرِّ وَٱلۡخَيۡرِ فِتۡنَةً۬‌ۖ وَإِلَيۡنَا تُرۡجَعُونَ

And We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good, and to Us you will be returned. [Surah Al-Anbiyaa. Aayah 35]

Therefore, it is obligated on us to know that the pleasures of this world are mixed with pain; its happiness is mixed with distress; its good health is mixed with sickness, and its richness is mixed with poverty. The slave will be afflicted- and that is inevitable in this worldly life; but his affair and its final outcomes is good and uplifting [or a means of raising his status], as the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, “Amazing is the affair of the believer, verily all of his affair is good and this is not for no one except the believer. If something of good/happiness befalls him he is grateful and that is good for him. If something of harm befalls him he is patient and that is good for him” [Saheeh Muslim 2999]

I ask Allaah by His Beautiful [Perfect] Names and Lofty [Perfect] Attributes – and due to the fact that none has the right to be worshipped except He- to remove from us and the Muslims – wherever they maybe – every harm and calamity, remove from us the severe hardship and protect us all through that which He protects his righteous servants. [Ref 1]

The Shaikh also says:

All praise and thanks belongs to Allaah- the One Who responds to the supplication of the distressed one when he supplicates; gives help to the sorrowful one when he invokes Him; removes evil and grants a way out from agonies. The hearts cannot be alive [i.e. with Eemaan, guidance etc] except by way of remembering Him; no affair occurs except by His Permission; there is no escape from discomfort except by way of His Mercy; nothing can be protected [or preserved] except by His Protection. What is desired cannot be obtained except by His facilitation, and happiness [in this Dunya and the Aakhirah] cannot be attained except by way of obedience to Him. I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah alone and He has no partner- the Lord of the Aalameen, the [only true] God of the early and latter generations; the One Who maintains and controls the heavens and the earths. And I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger – the one sent with the clear book [i.e. the Qur’aan] and the straight path. May peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him, his family and all his companions.

[A] What is to be said before a trial occurs:

Uthmaan [radiyallaahu-anhu] said: I heard Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laaju alayhi wasallam] saying: Whoever says:

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الذي لا يَـضُرُّ مع اسْمِهِ شَيءٌ في الأرضِ ولا في السَّماءِ وهُوَ السَّميعُ العَليمُ

In the Name of Allaah, with Whose Name nothing can be harmed- neither on earth nor in the heaven, and He is the All-Seeing, the All-Hearing”- 3 times. He will not be afflicted with affliction [or a trial] until the morning. And whoever says it three times when he wakes up, he will not be inflicted with an affliction [or trial] until the evening. [Reported by Imaam Abu Daawud and others] [Ref 2]

[بِسْمِ اللَّهِ]- Meaning: In the Name of Allaah I seek refuge. [الذي لا يَـضُرُّ مع اسْمِهِ شَيءٌ في الأرضِ  – with Whose Name nothing can be harmed- neither on earth nor in the heaven]- Meaning: The one who seeks refuge in Allaah’s Name, then indeed he will not be harmed by a calamity that occurs in the earth nor that which comes from the heaven. [وهُوَ السَّميعُ العَليمُ – and He is the All-Seeing the All-Hearing]- Meaning: He [Allaah] hears all the statements of His slaves, The One who knows all their actions and nothing is hidden from Him on the earth nor in the heaven. [Ref 3]

[B] Repeating – a lot – the statement:

[لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ  – None has the right to be worshipped except You (O Allaah); Glorified (and Exalted) are You (above all that evil) they associate with You]. Truly, I have been of the wrong doers].

Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] said:

And (remember) Dhan-Nun (Jonah), when he went off in anger, and imagined that We shall not punish him (i.e. the calamites which had befallen him)! But he cried through the darkness (saying): La ilaha illa Anta [none has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allah)], Glorified (and Exalted) are You [above all that (evil) they associate with You]. Truly, I have been of the wrong-doers.” So We answered his call, and delivered him from the distress. And thus We do deliver the believers (who believe in the Oneness of Allah, abstain from evil and work righteousness). [Surah Al-Anbiyaa. Aayaat 87-88]

Al-Haafidh Ibn Katheer [rahimahullaah] stated in his Tafseer regarding statement of [Allaah- The Exalted]: [كَذَلِكَ نُنْجِي الْمُؤْمِنِينَ – And thus do We deliver the believers]- Meaning: If they are in hardships and invoke Us, and (always) turning in repentance to Us (only), especially if they supplicate with this invocation when in a state of affliction [or trial].

Al-Allaamah Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah][ stated in Al-Fawaa’id: There is nothing similar to the likes of Tawheed in the manner it repels hardships of the worldly life; so due to this, the invocation of distress is [based] on Tawheed. The one in a state of distress does not invoke [Allaah] with the invocation of Dhun-Noon, except that Allah will grant him relief from his distress due to Tawheed. Therefore, one does not fall into great distress except because of Shirk, and there is no safety from it except through Tawheed. It [i.e. Tawheed] is the sanctuary of the creation, its refuge, its fortress and means of relief. And the means of all success [i.e. in this Dunyaa and Aakhirah] is facilitated by Allaah. [Ref 4]

Sa’d Bin Abee Waqqaas [radiyallaahu-anhu] narrated that the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: “The invocation of my brother Dhun-Noon:[لا إِلَهَ إِلا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ – none has the right to be worshipped but You (O Allah), Glorified (and Exalted) are You (above all that evil) they associate with You. Truly, I have been of the wrong doers]; there is no one who faces hardship and supplicates with it, except that Allaah will relief him of his hardship”. [Saheeh Al-Jaami 3383]

Look at the great distress that befell Yoonus [alayhis-salaam]?! The whale swallowed him and went to the bottom of the sea. He was in the belly of the whale and at the bottom of the sea – a great distress indeed. Therefore, there was nothing else for him to do at the time except to keep on repeating that supplication, whilst he was engulfed in darkness – the darkness in the whale’s belly, the darkness in the sea and the darkness of the night, and trapped at the bottom of the sea. He repeated this supplication, so Allaah commanded the whale to take him out. Yoonus [alayhis-salaamn] made this supplication whilst having a strong reliance upon Allaah and knew that deliverance from such a distress is in Allaah’s hand.

This supplication comprises of four affairs:

-[Tawheed: (لا إِلَهَ إِلا أَنتَ)-None has the right to be worshipped except You (O Allaah)]. This is singling out Allaah in worship. -[ سُبْحَانَكَ – Glorified (and Exalted) are You (above all that evil) they associate with You]; Meaning: I declare that You (O Allaah) are free from everything that does not befit Your Majesty. I declare that You (O Allaah) are free from all deficiencies and defects, and I declare that You (O Allaah) are free from all that which the enemies of the Messengers attribute to You. Allaah [The Most High] said: [سُبۡحَـٰنَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ ٱلۡعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ – Glorified be your Lord, the Lord of Honour and Power! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! (37:180)]

-[إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ – Truly, I have been of the wrong-doers]. This is an acknowledgement of one’s wrongdoing and shortcomings. -[Servitude to Allaah]: An acknowledgement that you are a slave of Allaah and that you cannot do without Allaah in the twinkling of an eye. Therefore, a person should turn to Allaah in all circumstances – when faced with pain, hardship, calamity etc. [Ref 5]

[C] Seeking Refuge With Allaah Against The Severe Afflictions [Trials or Calamities]:

Abu Hurairah [radiyallaahu-anhu] said: “Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] used to seek refuge against the severe afflictions [trials or calamities], a state of wretchedness, the evil of that which has been decreed and the rejoicing of the enemies”. Abu Hurairah [radiyallaahu-anhu] said that Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, “Seek refuge with Allaah against the severe afflictions [trials or calamities], a state of wretchedness, the evil of that which has been decreed and the rejoicing of the enemies”. [Ref 6]

Imaam Abdul Azeez bin Baaz [may Allaah have mercy on him] said that this means: So that one is not put to trial with something that harms him; fall into state of wretchedness – in sin and Shirk; and we ask Allaah for wellbeing. A person should strive to take the means to safety and seek Allaah’s Protection against the severe afflictions [or trials]; a state that is tantamount to wretchedness, the rejoicing of the enemies and the evil of that which is decreed. This what a believer should strive for and asks his Lord for wellbeing, for indeed the enemies rejoice when he falls into that which harms him, but he strives to attain wellbeing and [seeks protection] against the severe affliction [trials], or that which will bring about evil upon him – those afflictions and trials that descend on the people. He seeks refuge against wretchedness lest something happens to him that leaves him in a wretched state and makes him fall into sin, evil affairs or fall in Major Shirk. We ask Allaah for wellbeing. He seeks refuge against the evil of that which is decreed lest he falls into sin and is put to trial through that which Allaah has forbidden. He seeks refuge against the rejoicing of the enemies, which is similar to what has preceded above lest he falls into something that makes the enemies rejoice…[Ref 7]

[D] Being Consistent Upon The Supplication That Is Said When Leaving The House:

Anas Bin Maalik [radiyallaahu-anhu] said that the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said: If a man exits his house and says:

بِسْمِ اللهِ ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللهِ وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللهِ

“In The Name of Allaah, I rely on Allaah, and there is neither Power nor Might except with Allaah”. It will be said there and then, ‘You have been guided, sufficed and protected’. The devils will be far away from him [or get out of his way] and another devil will say, ‘ How can you reach a man who has been guided, sufficed and protected’”. [Ref 8]

Shaikhul Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [rahimahullaah] said that this means, “No power or strength is given to anything or anyone [in the entire universe] to move from one action to another, except by strength and power granted by Allaah alone. [Ref 9]

[E] Asking Allaah For Wellbeing In The Morning and Evening

Abdullah Bin Umar [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] said: Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] never abandoned these supplications in the morning and evening:

“O Allaah! I ask You for well-being in this Dunyaa and the Aaakhirah. O Allāh, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family and my wealth. O Allaah! Conceal my [faults, shortcomings etc] and safeguard me against everything that will bring me fear and sorrow. O Allaah! Protect me from in front, from behind me, from my right and my left, and from above. And I seek refuge with Your Magnificence from being swallowed up from beneath me”. [Ref 10]

This great supplication begins with one asking Allaah for [العافِيَـةَ -wellbeing] in the Dunyaa and Aakhirah. Nothing can be equal to wellbeing, and whoever is granted wellbeing then indeed he has received his complete share of good. Seeking [العَفْوَ -person] necessitates that one is forgiven his sins and they are wiped away. As for [العافِيَـةَ – Wellbeing], it is safety Allaah bestows to a servant of His- protects him against every punishment and trial, by averting evil from him, protecting him against calamities and ailments [sicknesses], evil affairs and sins.

So, the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] asked for wellbeing in the Dunyaa and Aakhirah, as well as wellbeing in his religion, worldly affairs, his family and wealth. Wellbeing in one’s religion is protection against everything that will bring dishonour [or disgrace] to one’s religion or deprive him of it. Wellbeing in the Dunyaa is to seek protection against everything that will harm the person in his worldly affairs, such as calamities or trials, severe poverty and ailments. Wellbeing in the Aakhirah is to seek protection against the extreme hardships in the Aakhirah and its various punishments. Wellbeing in one’s family is that they are protected from trials, calamities and tests; wellbeing in one’s wealth is that it is protected from drowning, burning, theft etc…

Conceal my faults, shortcomings etc [ وآمِنْ رَوْعاتِي – safeguard me against every affair that will frighten me and bring sorrow upon me]. Protect me from in front, from behind me, from my right and my left, and from above. And I seek refuge with Your Magnificence from being swallowed up from beneath me] – Meaning: Asking Allaah to protect you against destructive things and evils which a person is exposed to from the six directions, for indeed evil can approach from the front, behind, the right, the left,  above or below, and he does not know which direction calamity will suddenly come upon him….[Ref 11]

[F] To Supplicate a Lot:

Ibn Umar [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] said, “Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said: “Whoever has the door of supplication opened for him, then the door of mercy has been opened for him. And Allaah is not asked for anything – meaning, something more beloved to Him – than asking for well-being”.  And Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said: “Indeed, supplication brings benefit to the afflicted person and the one who has not been afflicted; therefore O slaves of Allaah! It is obligated on you to supplicate”. [Ref 12]

[G] Subject Matter Regarding Physical Contract And Infectious Disease

Abdullaah Bin Aamir [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, “Umar [radiyallaahu-anhu] travelled to Syria; so when reached Sargh, it reached him that the pestilence has reached Shaam. So Abdur Rahmaan bin Awf [radiyalllaahu-anhu] informed him that Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu-alayhi wasallam] said: ‘If you hear that it [i.e. the pestilence] is in particular land [or country], then do not go there; and if it occurs in a land where you are in, then do exit it – fleeing from it’”. Abu Hurairah [radiyallaahu-anhu] said that Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alahi wasallam] said, “Do not mix [or expose] the sick person to the healthy”. [Ref 13] [Must Refer to the following links for clarification by Shaikh Abu Iyaad’s (hafidhahullaah) regarding diseases and infections, the Difference Between the Plague (al-Ṭaʿūn) and Common Death / Disease (al-Wabāʾ):https://safeshare.tv/x/ss5e621b8d3e3c4#    http://abuiyaad.s3.amazonaws.com/islam/plague-and-disease.pdf https://twitter.com/AbuIyaadSP/status/1249740047512997891 https://drive.google.com/file/d/1LEWIPk_NtpRSxy5fkkF0XdFDQXZbGLZ3/view

[H] Do Good Deeds and Be Good to Others

Anas [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, “Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said: ‘Being good to the people protects a person from evil, ills, destructive affairs; and the people of good in this Dunyaa are the people of good in the Aakhirah’”.

Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said: One of the greatest ways of seeking cure for illness are: Doing good deeds and being  good to others, remembrance of Allaah, supplicating, humility [accompanied with firm belief],  invoking Allaah fervently and repentance. These deeds have an effect on repelling ailments and receiving cure, even greater [or more effective] than natural medication; however this depends on the readiness of the soul is, its acceptance [and submission upon such a path], its belief in that and its benefit. [Ref 14]

[I] The Night Prayer [or At-Tahajjud]

Bilaal [radiyallaagu-anhu] said that Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, “It is upon you to perform the night prayer, for indeed it is the [continuous] practice of the righteous who came before you. Indeed, the night prayer is a means of getting close to Allaah; a means of preventing one from evil deeds, a means of expiating  evil deeds and it is a means of expelling sickness from the body”. [Reported by Imaam at-Tirmidhi and others] [Ref 15]

NB: translator’s note: Imaam Albaani [rahimahullaah] transmitted this hadeeth in Irwaa Al-Ghaleel as follows: “It is upon you to perform the night prayer, for indeed it is the [continuous] practice of the righteous who came before you. It is a means of getting close to your Lord; a means of preventing one from evil deeds and a means of expiating evil deeds”.  Then Imaam [i.e. Albaani (rahimahullaah)] declared this Hadeeth ‘Hasan’ without the addition “And it is a means of expelling sickness from the body”. [For further details, see Irwaa Al-Ghaleel. Publisher Al-Maktabah Al-Islaamiy- 2nd edition 1405AH (1985).  Vol 2, Pages 199-202. Hadeeth number 452]

[J] Cover The Vessels and Tie Up the Water Skins:

Jaabir Bin Abdillaah [radiyallaahu-anhu] said, “I heard Allaah’s Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] saying, “Cover the vessels and tie up the water skins; for verily there is a night during the year when pestilence descends, and it does not pass an uncovered vessel or an untied water-skin but some of that pestilence descends into it. [Reported by Imaam Muslim] Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said: This is one of those affairs which the sciences of doctors and their knowledge cannot reach [i.e. it cannot explain, discover].

To conclude, indeed it is obligated on every Muslim  to surrender all his affairs to Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] – hoping for His bounty, desiring to receive  it and placing his trust and reliance upon Him, because all affairs are in His Hands, under his absolute disposal and subjugation. And that one strives in fulfilling the affair through which a way out of calamities is achieved – patience and hoping for Allaah’s reward; for indeed Allaah has promised to give an abundant reward to the one who exercises patience and hopes for His Reward. [إِنَّمَا يُوَفَّى ٱلصَّـٰبِرُونَ أَجۡرَهُم بِغَيۡرِ حِسَابٍ۬ – Only those who are patient shall receive their rewards in full, without reckoning].

The Reality Behind Attachment to So-called Influencers and Beauty Bloggers! [Unveil The Reality to Muslim Children]

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

The Only Perfect Example to Follow

Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al-Badr [hafidhahullaah] said:

One of the noblest aspects of knowledge – an affair that occupies a mighty station, is to pay close attention to the characteristics of the Prophet, his specific qualities and deeds by way of which Allaah distinguished him from everyone amongst mankind, his manners, etiquettes and biography. This is because he is the greatest leader and the perfect example. Indeed, Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] commanded us to follow his example, made him a leader and example for us. Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] said:

لَّقَدۡ كَانَ لَكُمۡ فِى رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ أُسۡوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ۬ لِّمَن كَانَ يَرۡجُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلۡيَوۡمَ ٱلۡأَخِرَ وَذَكَرَ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرً۬ا

Indeed in the Messenger of Allah (Muhammad) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah much. [Surah Al-Ahzaab. Aayah 21]

This noble Aayah – as the people of knowledge have stated – is a basis to establish the fact that the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] is to be emulated; but emulating him cannot be actualized except by way of acquainting oneself with his characteristics, his qualities in general, his specific qualities and deeds by way of which Allaah distinguished him from everyone amongst humankind, his manners and etiquettes. The one who is unacquainted with the Prophet’s [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] characteristics and manners will not be able to emulate him, and that is why the scholars of Islaam have written beneficial books regarding his characteristics and qualities.

The manners and qualities of the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] are a means of inviting mankind to this mighty religion of Islaam. Indeed, many people- during his era and thereafter – have been guided through their acquaintance with his manners and qualities. One used to come to him whilst harbouring the severest hatred towards him,  but after meeting him and observing his great etiquettes, noble manners, lofty dealings and benevolence, the person would depart whilst loving him more than everyone else on the face of the earth. Therefore, his characteristics are a means to calling to this religion- a weapon for the one inviting the people to the path of Allaah.

Speaking about his qualities, emulating him and calling others to emulate him strengthens the religion of Islaam, because he was the one who Allaah appointed to convey and explain the religion to humankind. Allaah chose him and he is the best of all the slaves of Allaah- the greatest in his servitude to Allaah.

Calling the people to emulate his qualities is a means to calling people to believe in the religion ordained by Allaah and a means to strengthening the belief of the one who has already believed in his Messenger-ship. This is why turning away from his Seerah has been the cause of people’s inclination towards the path of the losers amongst men and women, as opposed to the biographies of the Leaders of Guidance – the greatest of them being the Messenger, because they are a means of rectifying the person and a means to safety from corruption and evil.  On the other hand, the biography of the losers is a path that will lead to evil, ruin and corruption. Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic] said:

Indeed My Verses used to be recited to you, but you used to turn back on your heels [denying them, and with hatred to listen to them]. In pride [they Quraish pagans and polytheists of Makkah used to feel proud that they are the dwellers of Makkah sanctuary Haram], talking evil about it [the Qur’an] by night. Have they not pondered over the Word [of Allaah, i.e. what is sent down to the Prophet], or has there come to them what had not come to their fathers of old? Or is it that they did not recognize their Messenger [Muhammad] so they deny him? [i.e. this is a rebuke against them because all of them – young and old – knew his lineage, truthfulness and trustworthiness, yet they turned away from his message]. [Surah Al-Muminoon. Aayaat 66-69]

This shows that contemplating on the Qur’aan and acquainting oneself with the Messenger’s guidance and biography is a path leading to safety, and a safeguard against turning back on one’s heels [i.e. a safeguard against turning away from the guidance he was sent with]. On the other hand, abandoning the Seerah of the Prophet and inclining towards the Seerah of the losers [i.e. those men and women upon other than the guidance of the Messenger] will lead to ruin. The people became corrupted – in this era – after being put to trial through movies and films; but had they turned to the biographies of the Prophets and the noble companions of the Prophet Muhammad, they would have found guidance and a path leading to steadfastness. [Ref 1]

The Reality Behind Attachment to So-called Influencers and Beauty Bloggers

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said:

Hearts that are emptied of Love for Allaah -hearts that are turned away from Him and seeking remedy from others besides Him- are afflicted with an infatuation with images; for when the heart is filled with Love of Allaah and a strong love for meeting Him [i.e. in the hereafter], this infatuation with images is repelled from it.  And for this reason, Allaah [The Most High] stated about Yusuf [alayhis-salaam]:

[كَذَٰلِكَ لِنَصْرِفَ عَنْهُ السُّوءَ وَالْفَحْشَاءَ ۚ إِنَّهُ مِنْ عِبَادِنَا الْمُخْلَصِينَ -Thus it was, that We might turn away from him evil and illegal sexual intercourse. Surely, he was one of Our chosen, guided slaves]. This shows that sincerity to [Allaah] is a means to repelling [evil]. And because of this, some of the Salaf said: ‘’Infatuation is an agitation in empty hearts.” Meaning: [Hearts] emptied of other than what they crave for. [Ref 2]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said:

Whenever the heart is distanced from Allaah, then harm upon it is quicker, and whenever it is comes closer to Allaah, it is distanced from harm. Being distanced from Allaah is of various levels and some are more severe than others. Being distanced from [Allaah] through disobedience is greater than being distanced from [Allaah] through thoughtlessness; being distanced from [Allaah] through religious innovations is greater than being distanced from [Allaah] through disobedience, and being distanced from [Allaah] through hypocrisy and shirk is greater than all of that. [Ref 2.1]

Be Mindful of Those Who Corrupt Women

Shaikh Abdur Razzaaq Al-Badr [hafidhahullaah] said in his treatise titled: Characteristics of the Pious Wife:

This treatise is also a reminder to the callers to Islaam so that they give concern and importance to this affair, and that they hasten in spreading these virtuous characteristics, praiseworthy manners and blessed endowments, so that they may become qualities preserved in daughters and the women in a society of Imaan and in the houses of the believers; especially in this era – in which the woman is attacked [in a manner] that has not taken place previously, taking into consideration the numerous publications, the many channels and numerous ways designed to ruin the chastity, nobility, perfection, Imaan, manners and [distinguished virtuous qualities] of the woman.  Indeed in the past it was not possible for [those] corrupt calls, desires guided by personal interests and wrong ideas to reach the woman, except through limited channels- either [through] an evil companion or similar to that, and thus she is made to have contact with some of the evil characteristics.  As for today, the woman is made to have contact with all the filthy, vile and corrupt [affairs] of the world, whilst she is in the innermost part of her bedroom, without leaving her house. The woman sits in the innermost part of her bedroom in front of a screen or the internet, or she is [made to have contact] with some of the lowly magazines and thus her intellect, thoughts and heart are infiltrated with every corruption and evil. [Ref 2.2]

The Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said:

Verily the worldly life is sweet and green, and verily Allaah is going to place you as successors upon it in and will see how you act. So, be mindful of the dunyaah and be mindful of women; verily the first trial for the Children of Israa’eel was caused by women. [Ref 3]

Imaam Muhammad Ibn Saaleh Al-Uthaymeen [rahimahullaah] said regarding the statement of the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam], “Verily The Worldly Life Is Sweet And Green”- meaning: Sweet in taste and green in its image. And when something is green and sweet, the eye seeks it first and then the Nafs; and when the eye and the nafs come together in seeking after something, the human being is drawn close to falling into it. The worldly life is sweet in its taste and green in its image, so the human being is deceived by it and pre-occupied with it. He places greater importance on it than what is due to it (of importance).    However, the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) has made it known that Allaah is going to place us as successors upon (the earth) in order to see how we act; whether we will be obedient to Him, forbid the nafs from desires, fulfil what Allaah has enjoined upon us and not allow the worldly life to deceive you or whether the opposite will take place? This is why he [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, “Be Mindful Of The Worldly Life”, that is: fulfil what you have been commanded and refrain from that which you have been forbidden, and do not let the sweetness and radiance of this worldly life to deceive you, as Allaah said: [فَلَا تَغُرَّنَّڪُمُ ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَلَا يَغُرَّنَّڪُم بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡغَرُورُ – [Let not then this (worldly) present life deceive you, nor let the chief deceiver (Satan) deceive you about Allaah]. [31:33]

Then he [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] stated, “So Be Mindful Of The Worldly Life And Be Mindful Of Women”- meaning: Be mindful of them. This includes a warning to the woman with regards to her plot(s) against her husband and also a warning against women and the trial that can occur through them.  And for that reason he [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said, “Verily The First Trial For The Children Of Israa’eel Was Caused By Women”. They were put to trial through women, thus they went astray and led others astray, and Allaah refuge is sought!

And for this reason, we find that at present our enemies are focused on women issues. [They focus] on adorning women, intermingling them and make them share the same occupations with men, until it becomes as if the people are donkeys having no other concern except for their stomachs and canal desires, and Allaah’s Refuge is sought! Women are portrayed as if they are mere images, that is: pictures (which) people attached no importance to except that which is connected to the woman’s figure (outward appearance). See how they have decorated and beautified her! See how they have brought about beautifications for her and presented her in a desirable condition, in relation to (her) hair, skin, legs, arms, face and everything else; until they make it the most important issue for the woman, like a picture made out of plastic. They neither present to her the importance of establishing Ibaadah nor bearing children. [Ref 4]

Shaikh Muhammad Khaleel Harraas [rahimahullaah] stated in his explanation of An-Nooniyyah by Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah]:

After Imaam Ibnul Qayyim (rahimahullaah) described the beauty and perfection of the women of Paradise so that one is drawn towards them, he warned against being deceived by the evil women of this worldly life-those who are deprived of every excellent trait. They are neither perfect in their physical appearances nor do they possess good actions.

How can one be deceived by a woman who possesses ugly manners and is untrustworthy! How can one be deceived by a woman who neither fulfils her obligations nor does she possess patience! How can one be deceived by a woman who is neither contented nor is she obedient and humble [i.e. not obedient to Allaah in that which Allaah has commanded her to fulfil in marriage], and her deeds are ugly!  Rather she is a female shaytaan disguised in the image of a human, so she deceives the despicable and depraved people who desire her because they are similar to her and are ready to obey her.

As for the people of goodness and virtue, she neither wants nor desires them because there are no similarities between her and them.  She is deprived of everything that directs her towards good and prevents her from evil.  She neither possesses the correct way of life ordained by Allaah and a sound moral intellect nor does she possess good manners and fear of Allaah.  She does not possess natural beauty, rather her beauty is a falsified one that emanates from cosmetics.  And when she leaves that beautification and embellishment the defects on her becomes apparent and she is deprived of everything that makes a person desirous of her.   She is characterized with betrayal-neither grateful towards good companionship nor does she preserve and fulfil its rights.

Her beauty is a thin shell and underneath it are defects and ugly affairs.  Her beauty resembles a fake coin plated with gold or silver, which one may consider to be a real gold or silver coin; but this counterfeit cannot be circulated amongst the money changers even though many people are deceived by it. [Ref 5]

Brothers and sisters, as for the righteous wife, then indeed she is not in need of so called influencers or beauty bloggers, rather these are corrupt people whose hearts are emptied of attachment to their Creator. Imaam Ibnul Jawzee [rahimahullaah] said, “Sayyaar [rahimahullaah] reported from Riyaah [rahimahullaah] who said, ‘A woman was mentioned to me, so I married her. Whenever she finished praying Ishaa, she would perfume herself, adorn herself with incense and wear her (fine) clothes; then she would approach me and say, ‘Do you have a need?’ If I said, ‘Yes’ she would stay with me; and if I said no, she would take off her (fine) clothes and stand up for (prayer) till the morning’. Riyaah said, ‘By Allaah, she really delighted me’’. [Ref 6]

And there are also those so called beauty bloggers and influencers whose lifestyles based upon that which Allaah and his Messengers have forbidden, such those men who imitate women. Ibn Abbaas [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] said that the Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, “Allaah cursed men who imitate women and women who imitate men”. And he said, “Throw them out of your houses”. [Al-Bukhaari 5885]

Likewise, there are those influencers and beauty bloggers who call to the sin of homosexuality, so how can a Muslim who fears Allaah seek to imitate people who are disobedient to Allaah and His Messenger?!

Face Mask Utilised For Fawaahish!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

NB: Regardless what a person holds regarding whether a face mask is effective in preventing such and such disease or not, this article is not intended as an opposition to the specific government directive that people wear face masks in supermarkets, places of worship and similar places; rather, it is a brief reminder regarding the twisted mentality of many people even during times of discomfort when many have lost their jobs, some families struggling and our movements still restricted. So, when a health official says to sinners, “Wear a face mask when engaged in sexual intercourse”, we are reminded of the statement of Allaah [The Exalted]:

[وَلَقَدۡ أَخَذۡنَآ ءَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ بِٱلسِّنِينَ  – And indeed We punished the people of Fir’aun (Pharaoh) with years of famine]- Meaning, afflictions and drought for a long time; [وَنَقۡصٍ۬ مِّنَ ٱلثَّمَرَٲتِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَذَّڪَّرُونَ – and shortness of fruits (crops, etc.), that they might remember (take heed)]- Meaning, they were afflicted in order for them to realise that what befell them was a punishment from Allaah and so that they might abandon their disbelief. However, neither was this admonition useful to them nor did it benefit them, rather they persisted in transgression and corruption.

Then Allaah [The Most High] says: [فَإِذَا جَآءَتۡهُمُ ٱلۡحَسَنَةُ قَالُواْ لَنَا هَـٰذِهِۦ‌ۖ  -But whenever good came to them, they said: “Ours is this]- Meaning, when the land became fertile and provision was in abundance, they said, “We deserve this” and they did not thank Allaah.

Then Allaah [The Most High] says: [  وَإِن تُصِبۡہُمۡ سَيِّئَةٌ۬ يَطَّيَّرُواْ بِمُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُ – And if evil afflicted them, they ascribed it to evil omens connected with Musa (Moses) and those with him]- Meaning, when the afflictions and drought reappeared, they said, “This came to us due to the presence of Moosaa and those who follow him”.

Then Allaah  [The Most High] says: [أَلَآ إِنَّمَا طَـٰٓٮِٕرُهُمۡ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَڪۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ – Be informed! Verily, their evil omens are with Allah but most of them know not]; Meaning: The afflictions reappeared by the divine will and decree of Allaah and not what you think; rather your sins and disbelief is the reason that brought about these afflictions. [Ref 1]

All praise and thanks be to Allaah Who guided us to Islaam.

Imaam Sadi [rahimahullaah] said: Allaah [The Most High] said:

Indeed, Allah conferred a great favour on the believers when He sent among them a Messenger (Muhammad) from among themselves, reciting unto them His Verses (the Qur’an), and purifying them (from sins by their following him), and instructing them (in) the Book (the Qur’an) and Al-Hikmah [the wisdom and the Sunnah of the Prophet (i.e. his legal ways, statements, acts of worship, etc.)], while before that they had been in manifest error. [3:164]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

And remember Allah’s Favour on you, for you were enemies one to another but He joined your hearts together, so that, by His Grace, you became brethren (in Islamic Faith), and you were on the brink of a pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus, Allah makes His Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.,) clear to you, that you may be guided. [3:103]

Allaah [The Most High] said:

ٱلۡيَوۡمَ أَكۡمَلۡتُ لَكُمۡ دِينَكُمۡ وَأَتۡمَمۡتُ عَلَيۡكُمۡ نِعۡمَتِى وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡإِسۡلَـٰمَ دِينً۬ا‌ۚ

This day, I have perfected your religion for you, completed My Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion]. [5:3]

Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَمَنۡ أَحۡسَنُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ حُكۡمً۬ا لِّقَوۡمٍ۬ يُوقِنُونَ – And who is better in judgement than Allah for a people who have firm Faith]. [3:50]

Whoever utilises sound intellect to examine what the Messengers brought – what they commanded and guided the people to, such as knowledge and Awareness of Allaah, the worship of Allaah alone, turning to Allaah in repentance and obedience with true Faith (Islamic Monotheism) and the command to fulfil all the rights [of the people] based on courteous good will, perfecting one’s actions [i.e. based on sincerity to Allaah alone], treating others with kindness [by sincerely seeking to benefit them through one’s knowledge, wealth or position] and that which they forbade; then thereafter he examines what the Mul’hidoon call to, he will know that good, success, sound rectification of the hearts, the deeds and worldly affairs  are all in agreement with what the Messengers called to.

On the other hand, he will know that the call of the Mul’hidoon is designed to do away with good manners, whose end result is nothing but complete chaos and a state in which one goes along with lust until animals become more noble and beneficial than humans. This is no doubt their state of affairs – clearly manifested by what they are upon and proclaim with their tongues. One of the most amazing affairs is that many contemporary writers and politicians seek to remedy the many social ills and try to do so from many angles, however as for the problem of Il’haad – whose surge has carried away the majority of young people, they have not rushed to stop it by returning to sound Eemaan and certainty; rather they have been abandoned to wander blindly in their misguidance and wavering in beguilement, and thus the social ills they seek to remedy give birth to other social ills, because if the path to remedying social ills is not based on Eemaan and sound Deen, they will increase and become worse. [Ref 2]

Meaning of the terms Il’haad, and Mul’hid [plural (Mul’hidoon)]: The Mul’hidoon are the people of Il-haad. Ilhaad means to turn away from that which one is obligated to believe in or do.  This is a general definition of Il’haad and anyone who turns away from that which is obligated upon him to believe or do, then such a person is referred to as a Mul’hid.  But Il’haad is of two types: Major Il’haad and Minor Il-haad.

Complete Il’haad is to turn away from Islaam completely and that is Major Il’haad, which exits a person from the fold of Islaam, such as the Il’haad of the communists, the idol worshippers and those similar to them. Minor Il-haad does not exit a person from the Religion of Islaam, such as turning away from some actions.  Allaah [The Most High] said: [وَمَن يُرِدْ فِيهِ بِإِلْحَادٍ بِظُلْمٍ نُذِقْهُ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ -And whoever inclines to evil actions therein or to do wrong, him We shall cause to taste a painful torment.”[22:25]

The Perils of Lust And Evil Desires

Allaah [The Most High] said:

Have you seen him who takes his own lust (vain desires) as his ilah (god), and Allah knowing (him as such), left him astray, and sealed his hearing and his heart, and put a cover on his sight. Who then will guide him after Allah? Will you not then remember? [45:23]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said:

Disobedience is the cause of being in shaytaan’s captivity and a prisoner of lowly desires. A disobedient person is always in the captivity of his devil, the prison of his lusts and leadership of his desires. He is a captive and a shackled prisoner. There is neither a captive whose state of affairs is more evil than that of a captive whose captor is his worst enemy, nor is there a prison more restricted than the prison of desires and shackles that are more restrictive than the shackles of lust; so how can a heart that is a captive and a shackled prisoner follow the path to Allaah and the home of the afterlife? How can he follow a single path when the heart is shackled and stricken with harm from every angle as a result of the [severity] of its shackles?

The likeness of the heart is that of a bird; it distances from harm whenever it flies high and surrounded by harm whenever it lands. It is reported in a hadeeth: ‘’Shaytaan is a wolf to a human being.’’ And just as an unprotected sheep in the midst of wolves is quickly destroyed, likewise if there is no protection from Allaah for the slave, it is inevitable that his wolf will prey on him.

He is protected by Allaah through Taqwaah, and Taqwaah is a shield and shelter from Allaah between the person and his wolf just as it is a shield against punishment in this life and the afterlife. Whenever the sheep is closer to its shepherd, it is safer from the wolf and whenever it is distanced from the shepherd, it comes closer to being destroyed. So the sheep is more protected when it is closer to the shepherd, for the wolf only takes away the [sheep, cattle]  that are distanced and far away from the shepherd.

The basis of this affair is that whenever the heart is distanced from Allaah, then harm upon it is quicker, and whenever it is comes closer to Allaah, it is distanced from harm. Being distanced from Allaah is of various levels and some are more severe than others. Being distanced from [Allaah] through disobedience is greater than being distanced from [Allaah] through thoughtlessness; being distanced from [Allaah] through bidah is greater than being distanced from [Allaah] through disobedience, and being distanced from [Allaah] through hypocrisy and shirk is greater than all of that.

The Strong Foundation – at-Taqwah

Allaah [The Most High] said:

Is it then he, who laid the foundation of his building on piety to Allah and His Good Pleasure, better, or he who laid the foundation of his building on an undetermined brink of a precipice ready to crumble down, so that it crumbled to pieces with him into the Fire of Hell. And Allah guides not the people who are the Zaalimoon [polytheists and wrong doers]. [Soorah At-Tawbah: Ayah: 109]

Whoever wants his building to be elevated, then it is incumbent upon him to strengthen and fortify its foundation, because the elevation of the building is based on the firmness and fortification of its foundation. Deeds are a building and Eemaan is their foundation. If the foundation is strong, it carries and elevates the building; and if a part of the building is damaged, it is easy for it to bear the [damage]; but if the foundation is not firm, then neither will the building be elevated nor will it be firm. And if something from the foundation is damaged, the building will either collapse or close to that. Therefore, the duty of a knowledgeable person is that he makes the foundation sound and fortified, but as for the ignorant person, he elevates [the building] whilst building upon other than a [strong] foundation so his building does not remain.

The foundation of deeds is like the physical strength of a person- if the strength is vigorous, the body will be able to withstand burden and repel many harmful things; but if it is weak, the body’s ability to withstand burden is weakened and harm quickly overcomes the person. Therefore, support your building [i.e. your actions and deeds] with the foundation of Eemaan, because if something from the top of your building decays and falls down, then it would be much easier for the [building] to bear [the damage], rather than the destruction of the foundation. This foundation [i.e. Eemaan] is based on two affairs:

Firstly: Sound knowledge and awareness of Allaah, His Commandments, Names and Attributes. Secondly: Complete submission to Allaah alone [i.e. by worshipping Him alone] and [unconditional obedience to] His Messenger alone. This is the firmest foundation upon which the slave establishes his building [i.e. his actions and deeds]. Therefore, one solidifies the foundation, preserves its strength and carries on being enthusiastic, and thus what is desired [i.e. success in this life and the next] will be reached [InShaaAllaah]. [Ref 3]

Al-Allaamah Saleeh al-Fawzaan [hafidhahullaah] said:

Towards the end of his life, the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] admonished the people, as occurs in the hadeeth of Irbaad Ibn Saariyah [radiyallaahu anhu], who said: The Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-sallam] led us in prayer one day, then turned his face towards us, and delivered a powerful admonition that made our hearts fearful and our eyes tearful.  So, a man said: ”O Messenger of Allaah, it is as if it were a farewell admonition, so what do you enjoin upon us”?  He said: ”I advise you to fear Allaah and to listen and obey even if a slave is a leader over you.  Verily, the one who lives among you after me will see a lot of differences.  So, stick to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided khulafaa.  Bite onto that with your molar teeth.  And avoid the newly invented matters.  Verily, every newly invented matter is an innovation and every innovation is misguidance.”

In this command, the Prophet [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] advised us to have Taqwah. It [Taqwah] is a comprehensive word that covers all good qualities. The meaning of Taqwah is a means of protection between yourself and what you fear will harm you. It is what shields you from danger, such as [something used] as a means of protection between your foot and the excessive heat on the ground, or [something] placed as a means of protection between you and an injurious thing, or a shield placed as means of protection between you and a weapon, or a placed as a means of protection between you and the cold or the heat.  This [i.e. above examples] are related to physical [or tangible] things.

On the hand, [Taqwah in the Sharee’ah means] to protect yourself from the Anger of Allaah, His punishment and the fire of hell-   by carrying out His commands and keeping away from His Prohibitions. You cannot be protected from the punishment of Allaah, His Anger and the Fire of Hell by fortresses, armies and garments; rather you can only be protected through Fear of Allaah [Glorified and Exalted be He] – by carrying out Allaah’s commands and keeping away from His Prohibitions. [Ref 4]

Shaytaan Beguiles Humankind

Allaah [The Exalted] informed us in Soorah An-Nisaa Ayah 119 that shaytaan said: [وَلَأُضِلَّنَّهُمْ -Verily, I will mislead them]- Meaning, from the truth. [وَلَأُمَنِّيَنَّهُم – And surely, I will arouse in them false desires]; Ibn Abbaas (radiyallaahu-anhumaa) said: He (shaytaan) desires to hinder (them) from repentance and to delay it.

[وَلَآمُرَنَّهُمْ فَلَيُبَتِّكُنَّ آذَانَ الْأَنْعَامِ – I will order them to slit the ears of cattle], Meaning, cut off the ears of the cattle]; [وَلَآمُرَنَّهُمْ فَلَيُغَيِّرُنَّ خَلْقَ اللَّهِ – And indeed I will order them to change the nature created by Allah];  Ibn Abbaas (radiyallaahu-anhumaa) said: He (ibleees) intends by this the religion of Allaah. And the meaning of this is that Allaah created his slaves upon an upright fitrah [i.e. an upright natural disposition that will enable them to recognize Allaah, accept the call of the messengers when it reaches them and worship Allaah alone], as He (the most high) said:

So set you (O Muhammad) your face towards the religion of true Monotheism- Hanifa (worship none but Allah Alone) Allah’s Fitrah (i.e. Allah’s Islamic Monotheism), with which He has created mankind. No change let there be in Khalq–illah (i.e. the Religion of Allah Islamic Monotheism), that is the straight religion, but most of men know not. (Always) Turning in repentance to Him (only), and be afraid and dutiful to Him….[Soorah Ar-Rum Aayaat 30-31]

And Allaah [The Exalted] stated that shaytaan said:

(Iblis) said: “Because You have sent me astray, surely I will sit in wait against them (human beings) on Your Straight Path. Then I will come to them from before them and behind them, from their right and from their left, and You will not find most of them as thankful ones (i.e. they will not be dutiful to You).” [7:16-17]

[ثُمَّ لَآتِيَنَّهُم مِّن بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ – Then I will come to them from before them and behind them]; Ibn Abbaas [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] said this means, ‘’I [Iblees] will bring doubts to them about the Hereafter”. [وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ – and behind them]; Ibn Abbaas [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] said that this means, ‘’I [Iblees] will make them covetous for the worldly things.’’ [وَعَنْ أَيْمَانِهِمْ  – and from their right]; Ibn Abbaas [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] said this means, ‘’I [Iblees] will make their religion obscure [i.e. by making them hold onto doubtful matters which they would consider to be the truth]. [وَعَن شَمَائِلِهِمْ – and from their left]; Al-Hasan [rahimahullaah] said this means, ‘’I [Iblees] will command them to commit evil deeds, urge them toward it and beautify it in their eyes [i.e. make it fair seeming to them]’’.

It has also been reported from Ibn Abbaas [radiyallaahu-anhumaa] who said that Iblees did not say ‘’And from above them’’ because he knows that Allaah is above them. Qataadah [rahimahullaah] said, ‘’O son of Adam! Shaytaan comes to you from every direction but not from above because he is not able to come between you and the Mercy of Allaah. [Ref 5]

The Virtue of Shyness

The Prophet [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said, “Be shy of Allaah [in a manner] shyness  should be [established]”, so they [i.e. the Sahaabah (radiyallaahu-anhum)] said, “We do feel of Allaah, and all praise and thanks be to Allaah”. The prophet said, “It is not like that; rather the one who is truly shy of Allaah, let him safeguard his head and what it carries; safeguards the stomach and what it carries; remembers death and affliction. And he who wants the Aakhirah should do away with the adornments of this life, then indeed he is truly shy of Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic]”.

Al-Mubaarakfooree [rahmahullaah] stated regarding the statement of the Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi- wasallam], “Be shy of Allaah [in a manner] shyness  should be [established]”– meaning: “A firm, abiding and truthful shyness”. And regarding the statement of the Sahaabah, “We do feel shy of Allaah”, Al-Mubaarakfooree [rahimahullaah] said, “They said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah! We do feel shy of Allaah and all praise and thanks be to Allaah’ but they did not say, ‘We are truly shy of Allaah’ due to their acknowledgement of the fact that they are unable to do so. And regarding their statement, ‘And all praise and thanks be to Allaah’ – meaning, all praise and thanks be to Allaah for granting us Tawfeeq [i.e. for guiding and enabling us to perform righteous deeds]. And regarding the statement of the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam], “It is not like that”, Al-Mubaarakfooree [rahimahullaah] said, “Meaning, true shyness is not what you think, rather it is to safeguard all the limbs against what is not pleasing to Allaah”.

And regarding the statement of the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam], “Rather the one who is truly shy of Allaah, let him safeguard his head and what it carries; safeguards the stomach and what it carries; remembers death and affliction. And he who wants the Aakhirah should do away with the adornments of this life, then indeed he is truly shy of Allaah [The Mighty and Majestic]”; Al-Mubaarakfooree [rahimahullaah] said, “Meaning, safeguard the head by refraining from utilising it in disobedience to Allaah – that you do not make Sujood to other than Allaah, refrain from Riyaa whilst praying, do not lower your head [in humility] for other than the sake of Allaah, nor raise it out of pride. And with regards to what the head carries, such as the tongue, the eyes and the ears, do not utilise them for Haraam. Safeguard the stomach by refraining from eating Haraam as well as safeguarding what is connected to it – such as the private parts, the legs, the two hands and the heart- [from what is Haraam]”.

“Remembers death and affliction”– Meaning, remember death and your abode in the grave. “And he who wants the Aakhirah should do away with the adornments of this life”– Meaning, because the two cannot be combined in a perfect manner, even those who are strong [in Eemaan] cannot do so [i.e. perfect desire for the afterlife has to be combined with abandoning those enjoyable things of the worldly life which one can do without]. So, whoever does this, then indeed he is truly shy of Allaah. [Ref 6]

Consequences of Our Evil Deeds On This Earth

Allaah [The Most High] said:

ظَهَرَ ٱلۡفَسَادُ فِى ٱلۡبَرِّ وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتۡ أَيۡدِى ٱلنَّاسِ لِيُذِيقَهُم بَعۡضَ ٱلَّذِى عَمِلُواْ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَرۡجِعُونَ

Evil (sins and disobedience of Allah, etc.) has appeared on land and sea because of what the hands of men have earned.’’ (Soorah Ruum; Ayah:41]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim[rahimahullaah] said:

This ayah was revealed regarding the state of affairs of the world- the relationship between it and the events that occur. You see how the occurrence of those evil actions and defects (of the people) affects the harvest, vegetation and the animals in every era, and the manner in which those evil (affairs) necessitates other evils. And whenever the people initiate oppression and wickedness, their Lord (The Blessed and Most High) brings about- from those evils and defects (of theirs)- deficiencies and harm in their nourishments, fruits, atmospheres, bodies, outward appearances and manners, as a justification for their deeds, acts of oppression and wickedness.

The majority of the illnesses and the general evil affairs are remnants of the punishment afflicted upon the people of the previous nations; then there remained from that what remains, as a surprise punishment against those who remain upon the (evil) deeds of those previous nations. This is a just judgement and just decree.  And indeed the Prophet (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam) has indicated to this in his statement concerning plagues, that it is a remnant of an affliction or punishment that was sent by Allaah to the Children of Israa’eel. [Ref 7]

Brothers and sisters, twisted indeed is the mentality of those given authority to speak and guide the public, yet they call to Fawaahish and direct humankind to that which makes their situation worse through disobedience to their Lord.

Al-Allaamah Rabee Bin Haadee Al-Madkhalee [hafidhahullaah] said:

It has been reported in an authentic hadeeth -[in Saheeh Al Bukhaari and Saheeh Muslim]- that a man will be brought on the Day of Resurrection and thrown into the Fire, then his intestines will spill forth in the Fire and he will go around it as a donkey goes around a millstone. The people of Hell will gather around him and will say: O So and so! What is the matter with you; did you not use to enjoin good and forbid evil? He will say: Yes, I used to enjoin good, but did not do it; and I used to forbid evil and did it [i.e. commit the evil I used to forbid. [Al-Bukhaari 3267 & Muslim 2989]

Indeed, there maybe someone who is worse than this man, for he [i.e. the one worse than the man mentioned in this Hadeeth] enjoins evil and forbids good, so what will be his state of affairs, and Allaah’s Refuge is sought?! [Ref 8]

Finally, we make it absolutely clear once again that regardless what a person holds regarding whether a face mask is effective in preventing such and such disease or not, this article is not intended as an opposition to the specific government directive that people wear face masks in supermarkets, places of worship and similar places; rather, it is a brief reminder regarding the twisted mentality of many people even during times of discomfort when many have lost their jobs, some families struggling and our movements still restricted. So, when a health official says to sinners, “Wear a face mask when engaged in sexual intercourse”, we realise the depravity of some of those who direct humankind to immorality and destruction.

We ask Allaah to protect our hearts from the falsehood of these corrupt people Aameen.

You Are a Homophobe and a Misogynist!

In The Name of Allaah, The Most Merciful, The Bestower of Mercy.

A Principle Regarding Terms, Words and Expressions

The basis of a person’s Islaam is to testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allaah and that Muhammad [sallal-laahu-alayhi- wasallam] is the Messenger of Allaah, to believe in Allaah, declare that Allaah is One without partner, obey Allaah’s commands, keep away from what Allaah has forbidden and single out Allaah in worship. And safeguarding this path [necessitates] the prohibition of every expression [term or word] that contains Shirk Billaah [i.e. ascribing partners to Allaah] or Kufr, or will lead to one of the two. [Ref 1]

In the Qur’aan, there are many words that are utilised to rebut the words [or terms] that are in opposition to the call of the Messengers, the revelation that was revealed to them and the truth they brought. [Ref 2]

The words [or terms] of the Sharee’ah are sanctified, and it is from perfection in knowledge that one seeks after the [sound meanings] which the Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wassalam] intended by them, in order to affirm what he affirmed and negate the meanings he negated; for indeed it is obligated on us to believe and bear witness to everything he has stated and follow him in everything he has commanded.

As for the words [or terms] that are neither found in the Qur’am and [authentic] Sunnah, nor did the Salaf hold a consensus regarding whether they are negated or affirmed, then it is not incumbent on anyone to agree with the one who negates them or affirms them until its intended meaning is explained. So, if its intended meaning agrees with the [revelation, commands, prohibitions etc] conveyed by the Messenger, it is affirmed; but if its intended meaning is in opposition to the [revelation, commands, prohibitions etc] conveyed by the Messenger, it is rejected. [Ref 3]

Allaah [The Exalted] said:

And so We have appointed for every Prophet enemies- Shayaateen (devils) among mankind and jinns, inspiring one another with adorned speech as a delusion (or by way of deception). If your Lord had so willed, they would not have done it, so leave them alone with their fabrications.’ [6:112]

Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] said:

Allaah [Glorified be He] stated that they aid one another in opposing the command of the Prophets with what some of them inspire others of adorned speech, so that the gullible and feeble-minded people are misled by it.  He [The Most High] stated the reason behind a perpetrator’s [adorned speech] and the reason why it is accepted by the people; then He [The Most High] mentioned [in ayah 113 Al-An’aam] the effects it has on those ignorant souls.

When those souls incline towards such adorned speech and become pleased with it, they carry out what it calls them to do -in speech and action.  Therefore, ponder upon these verses and the sublime meanings they convey, for they clarify the roots of false principles and alert a person against them. And if you ponder upon the statements of the people of falsehood, you will indeed find them clothed with expressions and presented in a good light with sophisticated terms, which are quickly accepted by those deprived of sound discernment-to the extent that the wicked sinners would give [good] names to the greatest types of wicked deeds. [Ref 4]

Imaam as-Sadi [rahimahullaah] said:

Allaah [The Most High] stated in consolation to His Messenger Muhammad [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam], that this is the way things are. We have appointed for you enemies who reject your call, wage war against you and are envious towards you.

[يُوحِى بَعۡضُهُمۡ إِلَىٰ بَعۡضٍ۬ زُخۡرُفَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ غُرُورً۬ا‌ۚ  – Inspiring one another with adorned speech as a delusion]- meaning: beautifying the falsehood they call one another to, and adorning it with expressions until they make it appear in the finest image, so that the foolish and stupid ones are deceived by it, and those who neither understand the reality of things nor their (real) meanings are made to comply with it; rather they are amazed by beautified statements and distorted expressions, so they believe that that which is truth is falsehood and that which is falsehood is the truth.

He [rahimahullaah] also said: And from the Wisdom of Allaah in appointing enemies for the Prophets and supporters of falsehood calling to it, is so that the slaves are faced with trials and tests in order that the truthful one is differentiated from the liar, the one of sound intellect from the ignorant one, and the one with insight from the blind one. [Ref 5]

What is a Homophobe According to Those Who Concocted This Term?

A Homophobe is a person who has an extreme fear or dislike of gay people.

Firstly, what these people should understand is that those who believe in Allaah and the final Messenger do not fear gay people, rather they fear sin and do not want to commit any deed that is forbidden by Allaah and His final Messenger Muhammad [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam].

Secondly, homosexuality is not the greatest of the major sins, rather the greatest of all the major sins is Shirk [i.e. to ascribe partners with Allaah]. Allaah [The Exalted] said:

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَغۡفِرُ أَن يُشۡرَكَ بِهِۦ وَيَغۡفِرُ مَا دُونَ ذَٲلِكَ لِمَن يَشَآءُ‌ۚ وَمَن يُشۡرِكۡ بِٱللَّهِ فَقَدۡ ضَلَّ ضَلَـٰلاَۢ بَعِيدًا

Verily! Allaah does not forgive [a person the sin of setting up partners in worship with Allaah if he dies without repenting from it], but He [Allaah] forgives whom He pleases sins other than that, and whoever sets up partners in worship with Allaah has indeed strayed far away. [Surah An-Nisaa Aayah 116]

Thirdly, just because believers in Allaah and His final Messenger hate something does not mean that they exit the confines of justice when dealing with sinners, whether homosexuals, drunkards, thieves, fornicators, adulterers, liars, paedophiles, slanderers, usurers and others. Shaikh Abdul Waahid, Abu Khadeejah [may Allaah preserve him] stated in an article of his regarding the consequences of homosexuality as stated in Qur’aan and Bible: “This is the view of all of the famous scholars and jurists of Islam in line with the punishment dealt to the people of Lūt (in the Qur’an) and the hadīth of the Prophet. A Muslim, regardless of which country he lives in, is not allowed to physically harm those he regards to be sinners, nor incite others to do so. Vigilantism goes against Islamic teachings because it creates an anarchic, unjust and disorderly society”.

[See here: https://www.abukhadeejah.com/lgbtq-homosexuality-gay-muslims-and-islam/]

Finally, we say to those who concocted this term ‘Homophobe’ that they cannot twist reality by seeking justify homosexuality and portray believers as weirdos when they reject that which has been rejected by the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all His Messengers; rather seeking to vilify believers in such a case is nothing else but an inheritance from the ancient enemies of the Messengers – those about whom Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] stated, “And if you ponder upon the statements of the people of falsehood, you will indeed find them clothed with expressions and presented in a good light with sophisticated terms, which are quickly accepted by those deprived of sound discernment-to the extent that the wicked sinners would give [good] names to the greatest types of wicked deeds”. [Ref 6]

Indeed, there are those amongst the LGBT movements who – whilst seeking to justify that which the Creator of the heavens and the earth declared forbidden – concoct terms to vilify the believers and desperately seek to twist reality, or they even seek to silence everyone who raise objections. This behaviour is similar to that of the people of Lut [alayhis salaam], as Allaah [The Exalted] stated:

وَمَا ڪَانَ جَوَابَ قَوۡمِهِۦۤ إِلَّآ أَن قَالُوٓاْ أَخۡرِجُوهُم مِّن قَرۡيَتِڪُمۡ‌ۖ إِنَّهُمۡ أُنَاسٌ۬ يَتَطَهَّرُونَ

And the answer of his people was only that they said: “Drive them [i.e. the believers] out of your town, these are indeed men who want to be pure (from sins)!” [Surah Al-A’raaf. Aayah 82]

Therefore, should we concoct a terms to describe the militant members of the LGBT movement?! Rather, we limit ourselves to that which our Lord has stated regarding homosexuality and all other types of sins, and we do not go beyond the limits, just as Shaikh Abdul Waahid, Abu Khadeejah [hafidhahullaah] stated, “A Muslim, regardless of which country he lives in, is not allowed to physically harm those he regards to be sinners, nor incite others to do so. Vigilantism goes against Islamic teachings because it creates an anarchic, unjust and disorderly society”.

Misogynist

According to those who concocted this word, it means a person who dislikes, despises, or is strongly prejudiced against women.

Firstly, listen to the clarifications regarding Muslim women in general:

Women’s Rights In Islaam https://safeyoutube.net/w/1jCZ [10mins]

https://www.salafisounds.com/the-muslim-woman-in-a-modern-world-by-abu-khadeejah/ [55mins]

https://www.salafisounds.com/women-in-islam-by-abu-khadeejah/ [1hr 59mins]

Secondly, the aim of a righteous Muslim woman is to get married to a righteous Muslim man, as Imaam Ibn Qutaybah [rahimahullaah] stated, “Marry your daughter to a man who fears Allah, because he will be kind if he loves her and will not oppress her when he is angry with her”. [Ref 7]

As for the Muslim man, he also looks for a righteous Muslim woman – one who will aid him to obey Allaah and not a woman intoxicated with transgression or one drowned in the plots of those men who seek to turn women into sexual objects.

The Messenger [sallal laahu alayhi wasallam] said:

“Verily the worldly life is sweet and green, and verily Allaah is going to place you as successors upon it in and will see how you act. So, be mindful of the dunyaah and be mindful of women; verily the first trial for the Children of Israa’eel was caused by women.” [Saheeh Muslim: No 2742) (Ibn Maajah: No 4000) (Ahmad: 3:22)]

[Slightly paraphrased]

[Ref 8]

Therefore, a righteous Muslim man wants a righteous wife who adheres to the commands of her Creator, just as a righteous Muslim woman also wants a righteous husband. If those who have concocted the term ‘Misogynist’ utilise it as a means of attacking a Muslim man who reminds his wife and woman folk to adhere to the commands of their Creator, then indeed they have once again behaved like the ancient enemies of the Messengers of Allaah, as Imaam Ibnul Qayyim [rahimahullaah] stated:

“And if you ponder upon the statements of the people of falsehood, you will indeed find them clothed with expressions and presented in a good light with sophisticated terms, which are quickly accepted by those deprived of sound discernment-to the extent that the wicked sinners would give [good] names to the greatest types of wicked deeds”. [Ref 9]

Finally, Allaah [The Exalted] stated:

وَمِنْ آيَاتِهِ أَنْ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِّنْ أَنفُسِكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا لِّتَسْكُنُوا إِلَيْهَا وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَكُم مَّوَدَّةً وَرَحْمَةً ۚ إِنَّ فِي ذَٰلِكَ لَآيَاتٍ لِّقَوْمٍ يَتَفَكَّرُونَ

And among His Signs is this, that He created for you wives from among yourselves, that you may find repose in them, and He has put between you affection and mercy. Verily, in that are indeed signs for a people who reflect. [Soorah Ar-Rum: Ayah: 21]

Imaam as-Saa’di [rahimahullaah]: In most cases you will not find love in anyone similar to the love and mercy between a husband and wife. [Ref 10]

The Messenger [sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam] said: “There is nothing like marriage, for two who love one another”. [Ref 11]

Meaning: There is no bond like that bond between two people in marriage who love one another, for if they are married and love is present between them, it will increase in strength every day. [Ref 12]

Shaikh Uthaymeen [rahimahullaah] said: If a person says: What will make a man love his wife and vice versa? We say: Allaah has clarified this in His statement:

وَعَاشِرُوهُنَّ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ

And live with them honourably. [Soorah An-Nisaa’ Aayah 19]

If every person lives with his wife honourably and vice versa, then love, a strong bond and a happy married life will be established. [Ref 13]
